The lead singer of the Nancy group, popular in the CIS, Anatoly Bondarenko, buried his son Sergei, who was also the vocalist of the group. The funeral took place on October 18, 2018. The day before the delegation left, we quarreled because I sneaked up when she was writing a letter, and I watched and read ... Suddenly she looked around and was shocked by such a “joke”. With tears and an indignant cry, she left. When it was time for the delegation to leave, I stood by the bus and told everyone goodbye. Almost all the guys were crying. She sat at the window and looked with indifference at everything that was happening. The door closed, the column of buses moved, I ran after this bus and stopped it. The door opened, Nancy ran out and in front of everyone we hugged and began to kiss ... I gave her a guitar - she looked at me in surprise, because it was a terrible deficit in the USSR. She got on the bus, and the column disappeared into the forest, leaving the smell of gasoline and its perfume ... We corresponded for several years until the political situation changed, I wrote letters again and again, but they returned to me or did not reach her. They said that her family changed their place of residence. So this name has remained with me through life ... ”, the founder of the group explained.
The founder of the band and the father of the musician Anatoly Bondarenko announced his death. He posted the sad news on his Facebook page.
“Today at 4:06 Serezha died,” Bondarenko wrote.
Anatoly did not name the reasons for the death of his son. The press service of the group only said that it was not an accident, transmits. Bondarenko's parents prefer not to communicate with the press.

"Nancy" was founded by Anatoly Bondarenko, who was both the author and the soloist of the group. At the age of 17, Bondarenko, who was fond of music from childhood and composed lyrics and songs, created the Hobby group, which soon became quite popular in the Donetsk region. However, in 1992 Anatoly dissolved the team and began to recruit musicians for a new project.
One of the most important members of the created group was the keyboard player and singer, who still performs with the team. It was decided to call the group "Nancy", and in the same year the musicians began recording their debut album, Menthol Cigarette Smoke. Work on the disc was completed at the end of 1992, and a contract was signed with a Moscow label to promote the disc throughout the entire post-Soviet space.
The main hit of the group was the title track from the album - "Smoke of Menthol Cigarettes". It is curious that in the first year of its existence, Nancy was unable to win the attention of the listener, and success came to the team only in 1994. But it was a resounding success - that year, "Smoke of Menthol Cigarettes" was in the rotation of almost every radio station. Only in 1996, it was decided to shoot a video for the composition, which quickly won a place on music channels.
"Nancy" very often appeared on the central channels of Russia and Ukraine with her hit and for a long time remained at the top of various charts.
In 1996, the host of the popular music program Muzoboz called Nancy the best group in Russia and the entire CIS.
Despite the wild popularity, the song was repeatedly criticized among music reviewers for the words and the similarity of the melody with the Ukrainian folk song “Your dress is made of calico”. However, Anatoly Bondarenko did not hide the fact that he borrowed folk motifs when writing it. In one of the TV broadcasts, he said that variations of this melody existed even before the revolution, but he is the full author of this particular version with arrangement and text.
The love of the Russian listener for the song was even some kind of irrational, because already in 1997, when the group stopped appearing on television, radio stations continued to put "Menthol Cigarette Smoke" at the request of listeners. The team also had other popular songs - “Fog-Fog”, “Clean Sheet”, “Hotel”, but they did not achieve such tremendous success.
He became a full-fledged soloist of Nancy in 2007, joining his father and Andrey Kostenko. The group actively toured not only on the territory of Ukraine, but also in Russia.
In September of this year, "Nancy" held a mini-tour in Germany, after which they gave several concerts in Kursk and Belgorod. For December, I planned a big tour of the largest Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Kharkov and Dnipro.
The future plans of the Nancy group after the death of one of the soloists have not yet been reported.
It was that rare case when at first everyone fell in love with a gentle and sensual voice that seemed to penetrate into the very heart. Then the words - very simple, understandable and at first glance banal. The guys from Ukraine, who toured regional centers from 1983 to 1991 (then, however, the group was called "Hobby"), in an instant became mega-stars, performing at the same concert venues with Pugacheva and Leontiev, Rotaru and Kirkorov.
The smoke of menthol cigarettes, the group's first album, was recorded in 1992, and a year later it was decided to change its name. Why did "Hobby" suddenly become "Nancy"? There are two possible answers to this question. According to one version, this is the name of the first love of the producer, poet and composer Anatoly Bondarenko. According to another, the name of the group was chosen by a bioenergy specialist, comparing the energy of freely chosen names and photographs of the participants (in the era of the 90s, the star time of Chumak and Kashpirovsky, this was a normal phenomenon), the magic pendulum pointed to the name of Nancy.
Surely the success of the group was not only in the choice of the name: its members Anatoly Bondarenko, Andrei Kostenko and Sergei Bondarenko participate in many festivals, release several albums a year, tour a lot. They become the brightest pop-rock group in the entire post-Soviet space. In 1996, Ivan Demidov, the helmsman of MuzOboz, calls Nancy the best in Russia and the CIS.
In 1998, due to a default, the band members fly away from Russia to Germany and loudly declare themselves only in 2008, go on a world tour in honor of the fifteenth anniversary. For all the time of creative activity, 23 albums were recorded, currently "Nancy" is actively touring with the new program "NENSIMAN". The guys still have their loyal fans, do not change their corporate style and still sing about love.
