Games and fun for Maslenitsa in the group. From work experience

17.10.2019

On Maslenitsa week, I really want to play games and entertainment with children to expand ideas about the traditions of the Russian people. Children really like to play, through playing activities they learn the rules, develop speech, and, most importantly, communicate with their peers, negotiate. I think this material will be useful to other educators this week.

Card file of games and fun for Shrovetide week

The main spring holiday in Russia - Maslenitsa - "closes" the winter rituals and festivities. In 2018 Maslenitsa will last from 12 to 18 February.

The traditions of celebrating Maslenitsa came to us from ancient times. And even at a time when many peoples and religious holidays were forgotten, people happily gathered for the solemn “Seeing Off the Russian Winter” and indulged in Maslenitsa pleasures, games and fun.

Pancake week.

Children go in a round dance. On the 3rd line they come closer to the "sun", narrowing the circle, bow, on the 4th - they move away, expanding the circle. To the word "I'm burning!" - The "sun" catches up with the children.

And we expected Maslenitsa,

We met dear guest,

They covered the mountain with pancakes,

Topped with oil.

As from pancakes the mountain is steep,

As from butter the mountain is clear,

And snow falls on the mountain,

And our mothers call us home.

We can't go home

We decided to ride down the mountain.

Oh you, Maslenitsa-wryneck,

Show us well.

The long-awaited Maslenitsa delights us for a whole week with delicious pancakes and pancakes, folk festivals and a perky mood. Everyone has already missed the magnificent celebration after the long-gone New Year's days. And now a string of games and amusements for Shrovetide brings back fun and carelessness to us. Seeing off winter can be accompanied by countless entertainments, which we will now understand.

Ancient traditions of folk festivals

The primordially Slavic, pagan holiday Shrovetide has existed since ancient times, when one-story carved huts covered the ground, ruddy women walked in beautiful flower scarves, and men in embroidered shirts, and the day began with the cry of early roosters.

The colorful culture of the ancient Slavs is full of mysteries, mysticism and folk wisdom. The ability to have fun on a grand scale and generosity is an important feature of the people. After all, only after a good rest, you can count on excellent performance in the future, and this is a guarantee of rich harvests and all sorts of abundance. Therefore, the Slavs did not limit themselves either in food or in entertainment on the days of Maslenitsa.

And whoever spent this time sparingly and boringly, according to popular belief, the whole next year was not very lucky.

So, what were the winter fun of our ancestors:

Modern carnival fun

Many of today's carnival games have migrated from the past. Men and women put on traditional folk clothes, musicians take out an accordion, bells and whistles. Songs, dances, competitions and fun fill the cities. The warmer days lure many people out into the street, and homebodies invite friends and relatives to a home holiday, where it is also easy to arrange themed show jumping.

It's good when there is a leader who knows about all kinds of games and relay races. He says a preface about the holiday, its history, and then the fun begins:

Being indoors, competitions are selected less mobile. For example, “A merry tambourine” is a game when those sitting at the table pass a children's tambourine to each other, while a counting rhyme is said in chorus like: “Roll a merry tambourine on your hands as soon as possible. Whoever has it left will sing and dance for us!” The loser needs to dance and sing, entertaining the company.

Street competitions are usually arranged for strength and dexterity, often of a ritual nature. For example, for tug-of-war, two teams are given the names "Winter" and "Spring". Joyfully, if "Spring" wins, then we can continue the celebration.

Other sports games for carnival may be:

Those with a sweet tooth will love the competition for the speed of eating pancakes or pancakes. Housewives can compete in the number and variety of cooked pancakes.

  1. "Three legs". The game begins like this: the participants are divided into two, each pair of legs are tied together (the left leg of one person and the right of the other). As a result, with the help of three “limbs”, the couple tries to reach the finish line as soon as possible.
  2. "Wheelbarrow". Competition in pairs: one person plays the role of a wheelbarrow, resting his hands on the floor, the other holds his legs, playing the role of a driver. On command, this "structure" begins to move to the coveted finish line, overtaking the others.
  3. "Movement on a broom". Skittles are arranged in a row on the site, and you need to run between them on a broomstick, knocking down as few of them as possible.

Games for Maslenitsa in kindergarten

Kids love the fun week of Maslenitsa. To create a festive mood for them, kindergarten teachers organize special contests with gifts:

  • Shrovetide burners will help keep children warm during a walk.

The game starts with a stream. The children are asked to split into pairs and stand in a row. Children, holding on to the handles, lift them up. The very last couple starts to run in the resulting corridor under clasped hands and stands in front.

After each couple runs through the stream, they all sing the song “Burn, burn clearly!” together. And then the couple standing first scatters, and the driver must catch one person. If the children managed to run to the end of the row and join hands again, the driver continues to catch the next pair. And if one participant was caught, then the driver goes with him to the end of the stream. The one who has lost a pair becomes the leader.

  • Dawn.

For the game you need to prepare a bright satin ribbon. Children form a large circle and hide their hands behind their backs. The leader walks through the round dance, holding a ribbon or a bright scarf in his hands and singing a song about the dawn. Having finished singing the verse, he stops and leaves a bright ribbon on the shoulder of a nearby participant and runs away.

Tom,
who is left with the tape, you need to run in the opposite direction in order to take your place faster than the driver.

Having managed to take the abandoned place, the participant remains in the round dance, and if the leader is the first, then the loser now plays the role of "Dawn".

  • Snow fortress.

If you are lucky enough to catch a lot of snow on Maslenitsa, you can play this exciting game. The children are divided into teams, and each team makes their battle fortifications and snow shells out of snow. At the signal of an adult, the children attack the fortresses of opponents with snowballs. The team whose fortress is destroyed first loses.

This mobile game requires not only accuracy, but also caution.

For safety reasons, before the start, the teacher proclaims the rule: you cannot throw snow in the face of other children, otherwise you will have to leave the team.

  • Shrovetide fights.

“Swords” are being prepared for children: balloons in the form of sticks are inflated. In this way, the guys have fun and safely play the fight.

  • Competition "Snowdrops".

To start
you need to prepare a large number of artificial flowers or colored balls for the street. Children are divided into two teams. Funny verses about spring are sung in chorus, while the driver scatters flowers across the snow. As soon as the song stops, the guys rush to pick flowers. The team with the largest bouquet or more balloons wins.

Fun for schoolchildren

Children of primary school age will also be happy with kindergarten games. You can also pick up Shrovetide fun that is suitable for all ages.

Such games were invented for schoolchildren for Shrove Tuesday:

  • Rope pulling.

The most ancient Shrovetide game can be organized for children. To make it even more fun, instead of the usual rope, they take a rubber hose.

The teacher divides the children into two equal teams using a rhyme. A bright line is drawn on the snow with the help of paints. The referee blows his whistle and the tug-of-war begins. The guys can stand in an unusual way - with their backs to the line, to make it more interesting. The group of children who stepped outside the line loses.

  • Wheel.

On Maslenitsa week there was a tradition to roll a burning wheel down a hill. Whose wheel rolls further, fate promises great luck.

For schoolchildren, the fun is somewhat modified. A row of skittles is placed on the site. Two wooden wheels are taken, which are given to two teams of schoolchildren. The guys stand next to each other, and take turns rolling the wheel between the skittles. The relay ends when the first team of participants rolls and returns the wheel to the start.

  • Ropes.

Sports This fun will be very popular with girls.

The same rope or a long strong rope is taken. Two adults (or the guys themselves, if they are strong enough) begin to twist this rope. The rest run and jump over it.

The counting person notices who jumped over the rope more times and announces the winner.

This fun is accompanied by songs and ditties, you can specifically turn on the tape recorder.

  • Ice Hill.

For children, a slide is prepared in advance: it is leveled and filled with water for the night, the sides are formed.

  • King of the Mountain

One schoolboy climbs a not very high hill from the snow and is proclaimed the king of the mountain. The rest of the kids are trying to climb to the top to throw off the self-proclaimed and take his place. Fun and active wrestling must be safe: it is forbidden to fight and push roughly. Previously, schoolchildren are given the task to learn the poem "King of the Hill" by the author E. Uspensky.

At school, in a literature lesson, you can ask to write your own rhyme, in which the presence of these words is mandatory: Shrovetide, spring, pancake, sun, winter.

Whoever composes the best work will receive a prize or several excellent marks.

Adults can organize a cooking lesson for schoolchildren, because learning how to cook delicious pancakes and fritters is very exciting. The one who made the most beautiful and delicious pancake will get an incentive prize, and the rest of the participants will also receive obligatory sweet gifts.

Maslenitsa is always bright and joyful, on the street or at home, it warms and unites the hearts of people. From kindergarten and school, it is imperative to instill this good tradition of celebrating with the help of games and gifts.

Once the richest holiday of the Slavs, it is not forgotten now, because carnival fun and all sorts of competitions awaken in the souls of people fantasies about ancient times, when everyone just loved to have fun and rejoice at the imminent onset of blooming spring.

Buffoons acquaint the participants with every Maslenitsa day, hold contests, games. At the end of the event, the traditional burning of an effigy, the singing of ritual songs and invocations are held.

Event progress

Buffoon 1: Good afternoon, red girls and good fellows!

Buffoon 2: Today we gathered to spend the winter and meet the spring!

Buffoon 1: To frolic and compete in strength and dexterity!

Buffoon 2: Maslenitsa is an ancient holiday, celebrated by the people from time immemorial.

Buffoon 1: And it lasts not a day, not two, but a whole week!

Buffoon 2: And every day has its own secret meaning. And what exactly - we will now figure it out.

Buffoon 1: On the first day there was a meeting of the holiday. It was on Monday that a scarecrow of the main character, Maslenitsa, was created.

Buffoon 2: Make a scarecrow of Shrovetide!

A scarecrow is brought in and placed in the center of the square.

Buffoon 1: On the same day they built slides, snow fortresses, erected snow sculptures.

Buffoon 2: So we decided to hold a competition for the best sculpture! For a whole week, our masters (students) were preparing for the competition: they sculpted, carved, decorated. And finally, the work is finished.

Buffoon 1: We offer to see what they did and determine the winners of this difficult competition.

Buffoon 2: Well, we made it through the first day. We set off on the second day of the holiday, which is rightly called "flirting".

Buffoon 1: On Tuesday, ditties were sung and guests were treated to various delicacies.

There is a competition for the best ditty. If the children do not remember them, then you can print ditties in advance and identify the best performer.

Then the game "Treat" is played. Participants are divided into 2-3 teams, which must take turns naming a treat. Moreover, each team gets "its own taste": sour, bitter, spicy dishes. If a team does not name a dish of the desired taste within 10 seconds, it is eliminated from the game.

Buffoon 2: Have fun, play. Now we are going to the third day of the festival - "Lakomka". Sons-in-law came to the mother-in-law pancakes and treated themselves. Also on this day, competitions were held in strength, courage, dexterity.

Maslenitsa competitions are held:

  • "Throwing felt boots" - the cleansing of the Russian land from evil spirits. Those who wish receive boots, line up along the line. At the leader's signal, they throw the boots forward, trying to throw it as far as possible. The second, unexpected stage of this competition will be a re-throw of the second felt boot. In this case, it is necessary that the second boots fall as close as possible to the first.
  • “Breaking the pot” is the protection of the future harvest from evil spirits. On the site, a column is driven into the ground. A saucepan is put on it - a “pot”. Participants are blindfolded and given a stick in their hands. They take turns trying to reach the pole and "break" the pot - to hit the pan with a stick.
  • The game "Cockfights". A circle is drawn on the site. Two volunteers are tied hands behind their backs and sent to the circle. The task of each player is to push the opponent out of the circle. To complicate the task, you can invite participants to be in a circle on only one leg, lifting up the other.

Buffoon 1: Wednesday ends, Thursday begins. It was on this day that they sang many songs, danced until they dropped, played many, many carols.

Buffoon 2: Snow fights and the assault on the snow fortress were an unchanging tradition. Well, we will hold snow competitions!

Snow competitions are held:

  • "Labyrinth". On a snow-covered site, a labyrinth in the shape of a rectangle is prepared in advance, in which shallow paths are dug with a shovel. It has only two entrances. The task of the participants is to find a way out of the maze.
  • "Tir". At a short distance from the guys, a narrow table is set up, on which targets of various sizes are displayed. Those who want to try to hit all the objects, while making the least number of throws.
  • "Ice Hill". The slide should be sufficiently slippery from the side of the slope. Flags are attached to the hill in different places. The task of the participants is to try to get all the flags. At the same time, you can climb the mountain only from the slippery side.

Buffoon 1: On Friday evening, the sons-in-law invited their mother-in-laws to pancakes. And it was not easy for them to bake pancakes!

Buffoon 2: After all, it was necessary to first beg from the mother-in-law with the father-in-law for all the products and utensils for baking the main treat!

Buffoon 1: To do this, the sons-in-law sent their friends for this purpose. However, they will not give anything to the son-in-law just like that.

Buffoon 2: Friends sometimes had to fulfill even the most difficult wishes of the bride's parents!

Buffoon 1: What tests they did not have to endure that day, “thanks” to their friend: they threw snow, cleaned the house, and ran with trifling assignments to the neighbors!

Buffoon 2: Would you be up to the task? Now let's check!

Maslenitsa relay races are held:

  • "Hot potato". Participants use spoons to transfer the potatoes from the pot to the plate.
  • "Sledging". Participants lie on their stomachs on the sled. Skittles are set at a distance from them. The task of the players is to get to the skittle, go around it and go back, moving the sled with their hands.
  • "Funny broom". Pins of two colors are placed on the court, for example, for the first team - blue, and for the second - red. Each team has 2 participants, they receive a broom. Sitting "on horseback" on a broom, the players begin to sweep the clearing, trying to knock down all the pins of their color and at the same time not touch the opponent's pins. The team that completes the task faster will win.
  • "Broom Throwing". Players take turns throwing a broom at a distance. The player whose broom flew farther earns the team a point. The team with the most points wins.

Buffoon 1: On Saturday, the sisters-in-law - the sisters of the husband - were presented with gifts from their daughters-in-law, an effigy was burned, and an ancient ritual of purification by fire was performed: the young men jumped over the fire, and the ashes fluttered all over the district.

Buffoon 2: Well, we continue to have fun and play! Before burning an effigy, you need to warm up properly in order to be able to resist evil spirits!

The game "Give a handkerchief" is held. In a separate area, two sticks of different heights are installed. A strong rope is stretched between them, which is located on an inclined line. Women's names are written on handkerchiefs and with the help of clothespins they are hooked to a rope. The boy participants jump up and down to rip off the handkerchief. Then they give it to a girl with a name that is written on a scarf.

Buffoon 1: They also loved to watch bear performances in Russia.

Buffoon 2: Especially for you, bears perform for the first time in our region! Meet!

Competition-game "Bears" is held. Several comers put on costumes and dance. The bear that the audience liked the most is determined by applause. He is given a gift - a spoonful of honey.

Then they burn an effigy of Maslenitsa, dance around the fire, sing songs.

Buffoon 1: Rolled downhill all week so people said goodbye to the last snow.

Buffoon 2: They also wondered who would have great success in the near future: for this, a burning wheel was rolled down a hill.

Buffoon 1: We will try to determine this using ordinary balls.

Fishing rod

The host rotates a “fishing rod” around him - a rope 3-5 meters long, to the end of which a bag of sand is tied. You can vary the height - twist higher from the floor or lower. Those standing around jump up so that the rope or bag does not hit the legs. Whoever is hurt is out.

Sash

Opponents stand on opposite sides of the line drawn on the ground, tie their hands with a sash (belt or belt). The middle of the sash is weakened, the left hand is laid behind the back. The task for the participants is to pull the opponent over the line. The one who steps behind the opponent's line loses.

Golden Gate

Two players stand opposite each other and, holding hands, raise their hands up. Get "gates". The rest of the children stand one after another and put their hands on the shoulders of the person walking in front, or simply hold hands. The resulting chain should pass under the gate.

"Gate" pronounce:

Golden Gate
They don't always miss!
Saying goodbye for the first time
The second is prohibited
And for the third time
We won't miss you!

After these words, the leader abruptly lowers his hands, and those children who were caught also become “gates”. Gradually, the number of “gates” increases, and the chain decreases. The game ends when all the children are gates.

Stilts

Two participants at speed must walk on stilts to the mark and back, the winner is the one who completes the task faster.

Throwing felt boots

The essence of the game lies in the name itself. The felt boots are thrown for distance, accuracy, proximity of the fall of the second felt boot from the first one.

Suitable for a large hall, but it is better, of course, to play this game on the street.

Find yours

The animator forms two teams of equal size. The assistants blindfold the children and mix them with each other. One team grunts, the other meows.

Task: ahead of rivals, get together with your team in a heap.

tug of war

This is a traditional game for Maslenitsa. Two or more participants can participate in it, competing in tug of war. The group of winners receives small prizes, such as chocolate medals.

Mail

The game begins with the roll call of the driver with the players:

Ding, ding, ding!

Who's there?

From the city …

What are they doing in the city?

The driver can say that they are dancing, singing, jumping in the city. All players must do what the driver said. And the one who performs the task poorly, gives a phantom. The game ends as soon as the driver collects 5 forfeits. The players, whose forfeits are with the driver, must redeem them. The driver comes up with interesting tasks for them. Children count poems, tell funny stories, remember riddles, imitate the movements of animals. Then a new driver is chosen and the game is repeated.

Burners

Game progress. The players line up in pairs one after another - in a column. Children hold hands and lift them up, forming a "gate". The last pair passes "under the gate" and stands in front, followed by the next pair. "Burning" becomes in front, 5-6 steps from the first pair, with his back to them. All participants sing or say:

Burn, burn bright

To not go out!

Look at the sky

The birds are flying

The bells are ringing:

Ding dong, ding dong

Get out quick!

At the end of the song, two guys, being in front, scatter in different directions, the rest shout in unison:

One, two, do not crow,

And run like fire!

"Burning" is trying to catch up with the fleeing. If the players manage to take each other's hands before one of them is caught by the "burning one", then they stand in front of the column, and the "burning" one again catches, i.e. "burns". And if the "burning" catches one of those running, then he gets up with him, and the player who is left without a pair drives.

Ringer

Game progress. Children stand in a circle. The driver is selected by the counting room. He walks around and says:

Dili don, dili don

Guess where the call is coming from.

The rest of the players dance in place. On the word "ringing" the driver turns to the player standing near him and, clapping his hands three times, bows.

The player also claps his hands three times, bows and stands behind the driver. Now they both walk in a circle, saying:

Dili don, dili don

Guess where the call is coming from.

On the word "ringing" the driver again claps and bows inviting the next player to join the game. So the game continues until there are 4-6 people behind the driver.

After that, the children remaining in the circle clap, and the leader and the players chosen by them dance. With the end of the music, the driver and other players should stand in pairs. Whoever did not have enough pair - he becomes the driver.

Playing with the Sun. Game progress. In the center of the circle is the "sun" (a cap with the image of the sun is put on the child's head). The children say in unison:

Burn, sun, brighter -

Summer will be hotter

And the winter is warmer

And spring is sweeter.

Children go in a round dance. On the 3rd line they come closer to the "sun", narrowing the circle, bow, on the 4th - they move away, expanding the circle. To the word "I'm burning!" - The "sun" catches up with the children. Glory to the Sun Thank you!

Dawn

Children stand in a circle, hold their hands behind their backs, and one of the players - "dawn" walks behind with a ribbon and says:

Dawn - lightning,

red maiden,

Walked across the field

Dropped the keys

golden keys,

blue ribbons,

entwined rings -

Went for water!

With the last words, the leader carefully places the tape on the shoulder of one of the players, who, noticing this, quickly takes the tape, and they both run in different directions in a circle. The one who is left without a place becomes a "dawn". The game is repeated. Runners must not cross the circle. The players do not turn around while the driver chooses who to put the tape on his shoulder.

Give a handkerchief of sympathy

A gate with an inclined crossbar is installed on the site, on which colored handkerchiefs are hung on thin threads, at different heights. Competitors need to run up, jump up and rip off one of the handkerchiefs, and then name the girl and give her their torn one.

snow shooting range

In the winter town, you can install permanent targets for throwing snowballs. It is best if these are wooden shields 1 * 1 m in size with concentric circles drawn on them with a diameter of 30.60 and 90 cm. The shields can be installed on poles dug into the ground, hung on a blank wall or on a fence. Probably, it is worth making a special wall of the shooting gallery, on which you can put targets, their guys will shoot down with snowballs.

tug of war

Everyone knows this traditional Russian fun. Let it be not quite traditional on Maslenitsa. Preparation - as in the usual tug of war, but the teams take it, standing with their backs to each other.

three legs

The players are divided into pairs, each pair is tied with legs (the right leg of one with the left leg of the other). A couple on "three legs" reaches the turning flag and returns to the start line.

Wheelbarrow

Team relay where pairing is required. One of the pair will have to become a wheelbarrow - a freight transport with one wheel and two handles. The role of the wheel will play the hands, and the handles - the legs. On command, the player - "wheelbarrow" lies down on the ground, focusing on his hands, and the "driver" takes his partner by the legs so that the body of the "wheelbarrow" is parallel to the ground. The wheelbarrow, moving on its hands, must reach the turning flag and return back, where another wheelbarrow is already ready to move.

Who is faster on a broom

Skittles are placed in a chain on the site. You need to run astride a broom with a snake and not knock down the skittles. The one who knocks them down the least wins.
