Pigeon images. How to draw a dove: a few simple rules

20.06.2020

In the oldest book of mankind - the Bible - it is written that it was the white man who brought the Old Testament Noah an olive branch, which testified to the end of the flood.

The ancient Romans considered doves nesting in the helmet of the warlike Mars as a symbol of peace. This bird was associated in those days with the good news - the end of the war.

The white dove began to be considered a symbol of peace throughout the planet after the famous artist Pablo Picasso depicted an emblem for the World Congress of Peace Supporters, held in 1949. This emblem showed off this bird carrying an olive branch.

If you look closely, the best candidate for such a symbol is hard to find. For example, too fussy, - gloomy, and - too pompous. Perhaps a swan would fit, but it is a symbol of fidelity in love.

In modern life, white doves are sometimes released as a sign of peaceful intentions. For example, this is what the current Pope Francis I did. During a Sunday sermon on the situation in Ukraine, the pontiff released two doves from the balcony of St. Peter's Cathedral as a symbol of peace. Curiously, the birds were immediately attacked by a raven and a large gull, which attacked them. However, the pigeons managed to fly away.

How to draw a dove with a pencil

Drawing a dove should start with the main outline - the head, wings and torso. First outline the outline of the pigeon's head, and from it draw a line of a slightly inclined line of the torso. The tail of a flying bird should drop slightly down. Draw the wings in the form of a “tick”, but do not forget to follow the proportions and sizes of the contours. This stage of drawing is the easiest, but at the same time it is the most important. After all, the further drawing of the bird depends on how you depict the first contours.

Now liven up the dove drawing a little by adding a few lines. Draw the outlines of the torso and the contour line of the tail. Also add the bird's paws, drawing only short contour lines to begin with.

The dove should look like it's flying. To do this, draw the contours of the plumage of his tail and wings. Then draw the eye and beak of the dove.

There are only a few details left to add to the drawing. Most of the time you will need to spend on working out the bird's legs in detail. After that, with a few strokes of a pencil, divide the dove's wings into several segments.

Well, now you have come to the final stage of drawing a bird. It is not difficult to draw the feathers for the tail and wings of the dove, since their outlines are already drawn. You will only have to divide the lower contours with sharp sections and extend the lines up to the base of the wing. Tail feathers are drawn a little differently. They should be depicted as elongated ovals.

That's all, now you managed to draw a dove - a symbol of peace. If desired, also depict an olive branch in the bird's beak. Since the dove should be pure white, it does not need to be painted. You can only make the outlines of the image brighter and give the sky a soft blue color.

How to draw a dove of peace step by step instructions for children

We will need:

  • White list
  • simple pencil
  • Eraser

How to draw a dove of peace with a pencil:

  1. On the sheet we draw an oval (the body of a dove). We add a neck to it, a head in the form of a small circle, one front wing.
  2. We draw the second wing to a dove.
  3. We draw feathers on the wings and tail of the dove (we erase the extra lines. On the head we draw a sharp beak in the form of a triangle.
  4. It remains to draw the paws and the eye of the dove.

That's all, the dove of peace, drawn in pencil, is ready.

One of the most famous birds is the white dove. This bird has symbolized the world since ancient times. Therefore, we will learn how to draw it on a sheet of paper using simple improvised materials.

At the initial stages, the task of the artist is to determine the dimensions of the main parts of the bird. This is a head with a beak and a body with wings and a tail. We will already get a contour drawing with a bright stroke, you can proceed to the brightest and most colorful moment - coloring the picture. So in the end we get a beautiful drawing of a dove of peace.

Dove Drawing Materials:

  • a sheet of paper of a suitable size;
  • an eraser and a simple pencil;
  • liner or thin felt-tip pen;
  • colour pencils.

Dove drawing steps:

Draw two circles in the center of the sheet. Leave a distance between them. So the first circle will be smaller. This will be the pigeon's head.

Connect the two circles to get the head and body of the peace dove. Schematically draw a tail and add a beak.

We determine the size and span of the wings, because the bird will be in flight.

Now you can add lines on the wings and tail to get nice and neat feathers.

We delete the auxiliary lines and contours of circles with an eraser. Let's add eyes and paws.

In the bird's beak we will place a twig as a symbol. We draw an arcuate line with a small thickness. Let's add some leaves on the sides.

Now you can carefully go over all the lines with a thin felt-tip pen with a black rod or a 0.07 mm liner to get a finished contour drawing of a dove.

Now we take a green and brown pencil. We paint with them a branch in the beak of a bird.

Create a background with blue and blue pencil. Also with such shades we will go through the bird itself.

Now we will draw a dove of peace, carrying a twig in its beak. This expression became popular after the First World Peace Congress, where Pablo Picasso painted a white dove with an olive branch in its beak as the emblem of this congress. What we will draw is not painted by Picasso, but by myself. The dove is present in Christian culture when the dove flew to Noah with an olive branch after the Flood, i.e. God has mercy and the water is decreasing. Those. the dove became a symbol of reconciliation, God's peace with people. Also in Christianity, the dove is considered a symbol of the Holy Spirit. In the ancient world, doves were also considered a symbol of peace, according to ancient legend, they brought their nest into the helmet of the war god Mars, and he refused the war because he did not want to destroy their nest. In China, doves symbolize longevity, in other countries and religions doves are also present, they are considered sacred birds and messengers of gods, prophets, personify divine inspiration, purity and innocence.

Step 1. First of all, draw a simplified head of a dove with a beak.

Step 2. We draw a breast at a pigeon and a part of a wing.

Step 3. We draw wings at a dove of the world.

Step 4. Draw the tail.

Step 5. We draw a branch in a beak at a white dove.

Today I will show you how to draw pigeons with a pencil - the most peaceful creatures in the world. After all, even if they shit on your head, they will do it peacefully!

The next step in drawing a dove will be the play of light on our bird. The neck, tail, wing and other places where a shadow falls or plumage acquire a darker color with light movements of the hand with a pencil shaded.

Our creation is almost ready, but when we are, we should not forget the importance of details. We erase the auxiliary lines, give the plumage refinement, correct the contour, and, as far as possible, try to detail the drawing as much as possible.

Congratulations! You did a great job! Your birdie is ready for all the ups and downs that await her! May this dove bring you peace. And if you share this lesson with your friends, then a lot of happiness!

And finally, as usual, the TrustNo1 drawing:
