Wall stencils for painting are the best opportunity to decorate the interior with your own hands.

Wall decor with stencils

You need to choose a painter's suit, a roller, a brush, several colors of different paints and buy a stencil for wall decor you like in Olstik. Next, clean the wall of old paint, putty cracks and cracks, level the surface. After that, open with a layer of screed.

For fine work, water-based paint is suitable. If it is decided to leave the walls pure white, then it is necessary to repeat the procedure for applying the water-based emulsion a second time. And if you plan to paint in a certain color, then you need to let the walls dry. You can also add color to water-based paint and make a coating of a certain color. Keep in mind that the more color you add, the darker the color will be.

After the base dries, beautiful stencils for wall decor should be applied to the surface. Fix the stencil with small pieces of adhesive tape at the top and bottom so that the picture does not “move out”. Step back and analyze whether the drawing is evenly placed, whether the stencil is correctly fixed. Next, apply paint to the places where the details are cut out. If the drawing is large, then use a paint roller to apply paint, and for small parts, a brush is fine.

The time of change is such a moment in a person’s life that can come for everyone, when everything around has become boring and no longer brings joy. The way out in this situation is to change the environment around and fill it with cute things. For example, go on vacation, change an apartment, move to another city, or just start a renovation.

Repair at the same time does not have to be capital with a cardinal redevelopment of the premises. The situation can be corrected by the right wallpaper or the color of the walls.

And there is a way that will take and bring joy to the whole family, while giving a new look to your nest. No need to spend money on expensive materials and a team of finishers, make a commotion in the apartment.

Consider some ways to decorate a room without serious time and money costs. The process promises to be interesting and exciting for all family members.

First way

Wall painting with flowers.

We will need:

  1. Brushes, roller.
  2. Pencil.
  3. Level.
  4. Stencil.
  5. Paints.
  6. Scotch tape.
  7. Paper towel.
  8. Rags.

First you need to paint the walls with plain paint and leave to dry completely. The walls look neat, but you need to give a unique interior. In this case, paints and brushes come to the rescue.

First you need to draw a border. At a distance of 0.8-1.0 m from the floor, draw two horizontal lines using a pencil and a level. Stick 3m tape along the lines. The border is painted in dark color. Before the paint is completely dry, it is important to remove the tape from the wall. Now you should apply paint along the contour of the border, which will be darker than it, but lighter than the main paint. This technique will avoid sharp contrasts between colors. Paints must dry completely.

If the paint is completely dry and the tape has not been removed, i.e. tape was left to draw the boundary line, then it should be removed after the last line has completely dried. In order not to damage the already applied pattern, you can use a hair dryer. After holding the adhesive tape in hot air for a while, it should be removed from the wall. This method will not allow the paint of the picture to crumble. However, the method is not suitable for all paints, so it is better to remove the masking tape before the picture dries.

The most exciting stage has come - the creation of a decorative pattern. Pre-prepared stencils of flowers, paints and brushes are taken.

It is better to start drawing small flowers from the corner. The joints should be marked on the stencil, this will help create a proportional composition. To avoid smudges of paint on the wall, the brush should be squeezed out on a paper towel. With a rag, you can remove excess paint from the stencil, this will ensure the accuracy of applying color to each new flower. The stencil is attached to the wall with masking tape.

If the stencil needs to be applied to a previously drawn drawing, then the first one should be allowed to dry. This will not allow the colors to mix and insure against getting dark shades.

Decorating the border with flowers is the final stage of wall decoration. To ensure that the distance between the screen pattern is the same, you should use a ruler. The flowers on the border should be at the same angle, for this, horizontal lines are applied on the stencil: they must coincide with the line of the border when creating the picture. Due to this, the desired, and most importantly, the same slope of the flowers is achieved.

Paint colors may vary. You can stop at several shades of the same color, or there can be completely different colors. It already depends on your design preferences.

Second way

Drawing a geometric ornament on the walls.

Geometric shapes are easier to apply to the wall than flowers. It will take less time. Figures made with silver, gold and bronze paint look interesting. Such paints look unusual in different lighting conditions, creating a mysterious mystery of the room.

A stencil for geometric shapes can be easily made from plain paper and without special skills. The set of necessary devices is the same as for applying screen colors. You can spread paper or newspaper along the wall to make it easier to clean.

For the image of simple elements, it is better to use ordinary spray paints in cans. These paints are easy to apply and dry quickly.

The resulting drawing should be drawn on a piece of paper or on a computer. The randomness of the figures does not always look attractive, but the result will be expected and will allow you to avoid some mistakes.

The stencil must be positioned at the correct angle before painting. Sometimes, to achieve the desired tone, applying paint in a double layer is simply necessary.

Screen painting is a fascinating and interesting activity that is accessible to everyone and does not require mastering special skills.

Type of lesson: decorative drawing

Objectives: to teach how to perform screen painting.

1. To introduce students to the decorative and applied technique of screen painting.

2. To develop decorative and applied skills in screen painting among students and consciously use the means of artistic expression in creating an artistic image.

3. Raise interest in arts and crafts, painting, design.

4. To teach the techniques of stencil painting, which allow creatively solving the problems of the unity of form and content in a thematic composition.

Using stencil painting, you can decorate with original decor both the walls of any rooms - kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, as well as individual items - vases, chairs, tables, trays ... Apply to picture frames and mirrors. Previously unattractive surfaces become expressive.

So, screen painting is one of the simplest but original ways to decorate any item that requires only a little patience and accuracy.

Tools and materials

Adhesive tape of different widths, double-sided adhesive tape.

Paints: acrylic, gouache.

Sponges natural and synthetic various sizes.

Stencil material: cardboard, film, paper.

Pencils, eraser, drawing paper - for drawing the main image.

Ruler and tape measure for precise placement of stencils.

Old newspapers to protect surfaces during work.

Stationery knife and scissors with sharp ends.

Cotton wool and alcohol for cleaning the stencil at the end of work

Stencil making.

Drawing translation:

The drawing is transferred to the material selected for the stencil using a backlit table. To transfer large compositions to the wall, use wrapping paper.

Cutting out:

You need to cut the stencil on a hard and durable surface with a sharp knife with replaceable blades, starting from the central part or from the smallest elements of the pattern. When cutting curved lines, use a template. Instead of a knife, you can take nail scissors. The scissors remain stationary during cutting, but the stencil blank rotates during operation. Try to cut using the middle of the scissor blades - then the cut line will be even.

Applying paint with a sponge

This method not only allows you to apply paint faster, but is also great for painting a large area. It is better to use natural sponges, as they create the effect of transparency and lightness of the pattern, but you can also use a synthetic sponge by cutting it into pieces with uneven edges.

Stencil cleaning

Stencils must be stored carefully, since their creation is, although not difficult, but rather time-consuming work. Marks from the felt-tip pen can be washed off with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol. In addition, the stencil must be rinsed with water before applying a new color or when you want to flip it over to create a symmetrical image. It is recommended to store stencils in hard folders or boxes, lining them with sheets of thin cardboard. At the end of the work, wash the brushes thoroughly with warm water, adding a few drops of detergent to it, and set them to dry; store the brushes with the hair up. Never leave a brush unwashed: dried paint can make it unsuitable for further use.

Screen painting in the interior

Screen painting is a kind of creativity available to everyone. In addition, it will give you a lot of pleasure. The main thing in work is to stock up with only a little patience, work with soul and carefully. Try to do the work yourself, you just need to follow a few simple rules. The first drawing should be simple in one plane. If you have artistic abilities, you can come up with it yourself. Good luck to you!

Screen painting. Decor of the box "Freedom at the tip of the brush". Author: Olga Pavlova Using stencils is very easy to draw, and somehow I already showed the process of decorating an interior panel using stencil painting. But is it just as easy to paint a voluminous thing, for example, a box? I decided to try it, because stencil painting is a fairly simple technique, and it's also a great idea for decorating a jewelry box. To decorate the box using the stencil painting technique, you will need the following materials: a box blank; ground black; Acrylic-Hobby De Luxe acrylic paints: Olive, Khaki, Forest green; acrylic paints "Acryl-Art": Magenta, Yellow-green, Titanium white, Yellow ocher; acrylic paint "Decolor" Old Bronze; embossed paste Graphite; stencils that we will use for drawing; matt acrylic lacquer. To begin with, I primed the workpiece with black acrylic primer in two layers. The primer, in addition to its main task (primer), will act as a background, so I cover it with one layer of matte varnish on top. Screen painting. The decor of the box. With the help of a stencil, a stencil brush and Acryl-Hobby De Luxe Olive paint (the color is chic, as if filled with the sun, real, I highly recommend it!) I draw frames on the lid and on all four sidewalls. The brush works in circular motions, rubbing, semi-dry. I wipe the excess paint from the brush on a napkin. With the help of a background stencil and the same paint, with movements resembling powdering, I draw up the background inside the resulting frames. I make the shading uneven to create the illusion of a focal blur of the background behind the resulting grating. For later work, I create a stencil for painting: the stencil drawing is downloaded from the network and cut out from a simple stationery folder for papers. In this stencil, both a general bouquet of flowers and flowers are cut out, which makes it possible to draw many and different flowers. On the edge of the stencil, the masks of a part of the flowers are also cut out, which allows you to draw a darkening around the resulting flowers (I will not do this). The stencil can be twisted as you like and create either a twig with one flower, or a huge bouquet. According to my idea, it will be a branch with several flowers, making its way through the fence to freedom. On the sides of the box, I will draw young buds with leaves with the same stencil. With paints Khaki, Olive, Magenta + a drop of Black, I create underpainting (the bottom layer of the whole picture). Further, in the design of the petals, I use only white, brightening somewhere stronger, somewhere not so much. .. With paints Yellow Ocher, Forest Green and Yellow-Green I decorate the foliage and the core of the flower. I work mainly with a stencil brush, but in some places other brushes come to the rescue. After the branches are drawn, I will draw a lattice with black paint in some places in order to visually remove part of the branches behind it. With paint "Decolor" Old bronze, also with a stencil brush through a stencil, I make out the inscription. I fasten the lock and, despite the fact that this fitting is bronze, I also powder it with the beauty of Old Bronze to make the inscription and fittings a single shade. Again I take the stencil with the inscription and, having precisely aligned the stencil with the inscription already received, I lay it out again with graphite-colored embossed paste. After drying, I again combine the relief with the stencil and cover the entire relief with old bronze decolor paint. I needed the first paint layer, because in the stencil drawing of the inscription there are very thin lines of letters through which the relief paste categorically did not want to lie down, and without these lines the letters would not be intact ... but the hopes that the relief laid out after that will not interfere with drawing thin lines, there were too few to risk. Using a sponge, I powder the ribs and edges of the entire box. That's all, three strokes of the brush, a drop of paint, and I myself did not notice how the box was ready. Simple, fast, easy! As I love it :) Source

When my son, as a gift, suddenly decided to buy a panel, I was downright indignant. Spending money on an interior thing, when there are a lot of tools and materials in the house so that you can do it yourself - well, the height of waste! To mine: “Is it weak to draw yourself?”, The son sadly stated that “without being able to, it’s impossible.” To which I exhaled almost resentfully, “Well! ..”, and went to draw a panel ... not knowing how to draw.

Materials for drawing stencils:

How to use stencils for decorating panels

1. I spread paints (White, Blackberry, Magenta) and black primer on the MDF canvas.

Using a spatula, I stretch the paint over the canvas. After I take a plastic card (you can take a rubber spatula) and distribute the paint more densely.

After drying, I add more black soil and Magenta in the same way.

2. With white paint, diluted with water to the consistency of liquid sour cream, I make a chaotic spray of blots, immediately spray these blots with water and then, with the help of a hair dryer, I disperse the paint a little.

3. I got three fairly large blots, on which I will apply a bunch of circles using a stencil and black paint (you can take any background geometric stencil). This will break up the blobs even more.

4. I take the “Flowers” stencil and using a stencil brush using the rubbing method (the brush is semi-dry, the picture is translucent) I paint flowers with Yellow Ocher and Magenta paints, somewhere clean, somewhere mixing them together, somewhere adding a drop to Magenta Black, and to Ocher a drop of White. Don't forget the sides.

5. I mix the Sapphire and Mahogany relief pastes and a drop of acrylic primer (the primer here is taken as a substitute for the Graphite relief paste, unfortunately, I ran out of it, and without black the color turned out not dark enough as I wanted).

Through the stencil, I apply a floral ornament.

6. After the embossed flower has dried, I tint it with a stencil brush through the stencil with Decolor Violet Pearl paint.

I darken the centers of the ornament "Decolor" Black and lighten the edges of the ornament with the paint "Chameleon" Golden.

7. In the other corner of the panel, I want to place a bird. To do this, I use Decolor Olympic Silk and Royal Purple paints, Crystal paste and, to get enough density (too much paint as a color for crystal paste), a little Transparent Modeling Gel.

I mix these materials with each other and apply the resulting mixture through a stencil using a palette knife. This relief will look like porridge at first, but as it dries, the mixture of paints and modeling gel will settle a little, releasing balls of crystal paste to the surface.

8. The stencil painting style panel is ready! I'm almost an artist ... despite the fact that I can't draw at all)))
