We will dwell in this material on the most significant moments in the life of Muslim Magomayev. We will tell in a brief description, based on the dates, how bright this short life was.

We note right away that Muslim Magometovich was lucky to be born in the illustrious creative family of Azerbaijan, which originates from his grandfather, the famous original composer, Magomet Magomayev.

The father of the future brilliant singer and composer was also an extraordinary person; he found the application of his creative potential in applied art.

The talented artist worked as a graphic designer in the most famous theaters in Baku, however, the war interrupted his creative life, Magomet Magomayev went to fight. He could no longer return home, he died in Berlin a few days before the victory, when his son was already three years old.

Magomayev was born in the most difficult time for the country, it was 1942, on August 17, Aishat Magomaeva, the mother of the future celebrity, gave the world an extraordinary personality.

It should be noted that the mother of the famous singer was also a gifted person, a talented dramatic actress worked in the theater under the pseudonym "Kinzhalova", was also awarded a Stalinist scholarship, which speaks of her creative merits.

Why, then, nature did not stint and endowed the future vocalist not only with an amazing voice, a talent for a unique perception of music and the ability to compose it, but also with excellent external data.

Trying to understand such natural generosity, you involuntarily pay attention to the genealogy, and with great interest you learn that several peoples have left their mark on it. The Russian, Adyghe, Turkish and Tatar peoples turned out to be not at all alien to the future Azerbaijani singer.

However, already in adulthood, Muslim Magomayev, whose biography we get acquainted with, learn about the years of life and the cause of death, uttered his famous phrase that “Azerbaijan is his father for him, and Russia is his mother”, expressing all the love and devotion to this peoples.

Childhood

After the war, the boy was taken by his father's side, deciding that he would be better off in their family, his father's brother Jamal made such a decision, with which Aishat was forced to agree.

Mom missed her son, loved him very much, but understood that the boy needed a male upbringing and a large family. Left alone, she decided to continue her creative path and left for Vyshny Volochok, where she got a job at the local drama theater.

But love for her son did not make it possible to live a full life, and Aishat decided to secretly take him to her place, taking him away from Azerbaijan. For some time they lived together, it seemed that life was getting better, she felt that her son also loved her very much.

And Muslim, who at that time was 9 years old, already quite meaningfully got acquainted with the theatrical life and its musical side. He showed organizational skills, created his own puppet theater with classmates, wrote plays and made characters for performances themselves.

But, a year later, Jamal insisted that the boy return to his family, and that was the end of it. Mom began to live her own life, got married and gave birth to two more children, Tatiana and Yuri.

Having finally moved to Baku, Muslim, who had previously shown musical abilities, began to study at the music school at the conservatory, in the piano class.

Jamal's family was highly intelligent and belonged to the elite Baku society, the uncle gave the boy everything he needed and sought to develop the child's musical talent, obvious to everyone.

General education was given to the boy with great difficulty, he was completely absorbed by music, especially there was a strong desire to engage in vocals. So, in 1956, fourteen-year-old Muslim became a student at the Baku Musical College named after Zeynalla Asaf.

A completely adult life began, filled with meaning, my favorite passion for music completely captured. The first public performance took place secretly from everyone, in 1957 Muslim Magomayev performed on the stage of Baku sailors.

This performance captured him completely, probably then he made a firm decision to permanently link his life with the stage. The fears of the teachers and the uncle regarding the mutation of the voice did not materialize, and huge prospects opened up before the singer.

The rapid start of the creative path

In 1959, Muslim graduated from the music school, continued to perform at various concerts, and two years later became a soloist in a professional song and dance ensemble at the Baku Military District. Concert activity did not interfere with the continuation of the professional development of the young artist, the filigree work on the formation of the voice continued.

The first awards and prizes appeared, and in 1962 Muslim Magomayev went to his first performance at the international venue in Helsinki, as part of the delegation of our country. Glory came with lightning speed and deafeningly, Muslim became a laureate at this festival of youth and students, performing the amazing song "Buchenwald Alarm".

The older generation of our country perfectly remembers the impression of hearing the song - it was a real shock, goosebumps ran through the body, tears in the eyes and a lump in the throat.

The country, which not so long ago defeated a terrible evil and lost its best sons, froze from such a performance - they were proud of such a compatriot.

Immediately after this incredible success, in the same year, Muslim Magomayev performed on the Kremlin stage at the Azerbaijan Art Festival, and literally "wakes up" incredibly famous.

Muslim Magomayev with Soviet leaders of that time

Magomayev literally burst into the musical life of the country, conquered it not only with his voice, but also with a special manner of holding himself with great dignity, while demonstrating natural modesty and intelligence.

Everyone at that time was only talking about Magomayev and Gagarin's flight into space, these were two practically equivalent events.

Life is like a bright comet

Muslim Magomayev - not a day without music

In 1960, Muslim Magomayev, as is known from his biography, upon acquaintance with the years of life and the cause of death, married a classmate, about whom it is only known that her name was Ophelia. A year later, they had to leave, the marriage was not saved even by the birth of their daughter Maria.

Muslim suffered a divorce easily, he was captivated by a rapidly gaining momentum along with music, and the singer has always enjoyed incredible popularity among women.

Awards literally rained down on Muslim Magomayev

Creativity brought more and more pleasure, contributing to the further growth of skill, and in 1963 Muslim Magomayev already held his first solo concert at one of the main venues in the country - the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Professional growth in chamber art also continues, Magomayev becomes a soloist of the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater named after Akhundov.

In 1964, Magomayev trained abroad, honing his operatic skills in Italy, at the famous Milanese opera house La Scala. After Italy, Magomayev toured the country with performances of The Barber of Seville and Tosca, the success was simply resounding, the entire intelligentsia of the country visited his performances.

The logical result of success was an invitation to work in the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater, but Magomayev chose creative freedom and versatile musical activities.

The successful performance in the 66th year on the stage of the Parisian Olympia was also appreciated by the French, Magomayev received an offer to conclude a contract for a year.

However, in those days, no one could make their own decisions about working abroad, even such great and popular artists. And to make it more intelligible, a whole company turned against Magomayev, with the involvement of government agencies that stand guard over socialist legality.

Magomayev showed wisdom and did not go against the system, to stay abroad forever, as he was offered by "Soviet dissidents", he also did not, being an unconditional patriot of his small homeland of Azerbaijan and the country as a whole.

Muslim Magomayev - short rest

In 1969, when the campaign to discredit him ended, Muslim Magomayev, according to his biography, getting acquainted with which we study his years of life and the cause of death, was again able to perform on the Olympia stage.

I must say that the years 1968-1969 were especially successful in his creative career, the Golden Disc award at Cannes and the first prize at the International Festival in Sopot.

A new stage, both in his personal life and in his musical career.
In 1972, a significant event took place in the singer's personal life, he met his future wife Tamara Sinyavskaya in Baku, at the festival of Russian musical art.

Young people were seized by a sense of attraction, they were united by many things, both were incredibly popular and recognized by both society and the authorities, they were young and beautiful, but the main thing, of course, was music.

Magomayev was a free man, although he was spoiled by female attention, but Sinyavskaya decided not to change her status as an unmarried woman and went on an internship to Italy, with the firm intention of forgetting everything.

As follows from her story, what was her surprise when she found out that she and Magomayev, who at that time also ended up in Milan, were put in the same room. The incident, of course, was over, but Sinyavskaya decided that this was a sign of fate and did not resist the surging feeling with renewed vigor.

The very Italian atmosphere and music connected these two most talented people even more strongly. According to the stories of Pakhmutova and Dobronravov, many were worried about this couple, the song “Orpheus” was written especially for the situation, which became the anthem of their joint happiness. In 1974, they got married, lived together until the very end of the great artist, despite the fact that the relationship was not easy.

In the meantime, everything was going incredibly well, the year 73 became especially significant in the biography of Muslim Magomayev, in his years of life, before his death, he was awarded the highest title "People's Artist of the USSR". You have to understand that the 70s is just a fantastic popularity of the artist, both in the country and abroad.

Continuing to tour the country, Magomayev did not leave the republic and in 1975 created a pop-symphony orchestra there. Having become the artistic director of the created orchestra, he remained it for many years, until 1989. In those days, without the participation of Muslim Magomayev, not a single festive concert took place in the country, he is invited to all government events.

A stormy creative life did not allow to relax for a minute, Magomayev performs with various musical works, he is equally good both in opera and on the stage, arias, symphonies, are replaced by romances and pop compositions.

It is impossible to even imagine how densely his life was filled with music. Moscow attracted more and more and did not want to let go, so in 1989 Magomayev, tired of constant moving, settled in Moscow completely.

Life becomes less dressed up, and the beloved woman is always there, but a busy life makes itself felt. Problems with the heart and blood vessels no longer allow working as before, Muslim Magomayev appears less and less at concerts, without missing the most prestigious ones.

But after 4 years, at the age of 60, Magomayev decides to leave the concert activity, but he is still active and does not quit his job. Together with Tamara Sinyavskaya, they devoted more time to rest, traveled, but there was less and less strength left. After 6 years, Magomayev died of an ischemic attack, next to him was his muse and the love of his life.

The beloved artist is gone, but he will be remembered for a very long time with surprise from such a bright and talented personality, and with great gratitude. Muslim Magomayev and his biography, the bright years of his life, the tragic cause of death will forever remain in our hearts.

On Saturday, October 25, at the age of 67, an outstanding singer and composer Muslim Magomayev died in Moscow. Recently, Magomayev was seriously ill, he had heart problems. In a recent interview, answering the question - why did he stop performing? - Magomayev replied: "I said a long time ago that I was leaving. It is better to leave with dignity when you are remembered singing."

In Soviet times, he was one of the most popular pop singers, he really was the idol of millions - without any exaggeration. Fans adored him, and he reciprocated them. It is known that during his tour of the Union republics, Magomayev spoke to the public many times .. from hotel balconies; after all, his concerts were always held at constant full houses, and not a single hall could accommodate an entire city.

Muslim Magomayev was born on August 17, 1942 in Baku. He graduated from a music school in piano, then a music school, after - the Baku Conservatory in vocal class. For the first time Magomaev was noticed at the youth festival in Helsinki in 1962, where he became a laureate for performing songs "Buchenwald alarm" and "Do Russians Want Wars". In 1963, Magomayev literally conquered Moscow with his concerts. The success was resounding. He was fluent not only in pop, but also in opera material. In 1964, he left for a one-year internship at Milan's La Scala Opera House.

After Milan, he performed in the largest cities of the Soviet Union in the performances of Tosca and The Barber of Seville. In 1966 and 1969, Magomayev's tours were held with great success at the famous Olympia Theater in Paris. The singer participated in all major government concerts and festive programs on Soviet television. Secretary General of the Communist Party Leonid Brezhnev especially liked to listen to an Italian song performed by him "Bella, ciao". The voice of Magomayev is sung by the character Troubadour in the popular cartoon "In the footsteps of the Bremen town musicians" (1973) love serenade. In 1982, the singer played the main role in the feature film directed by Eldar Kuliev "Nizami".

Robert Rozhdestvensky, on whose verses Magomayev performed many songs, including "As long as I remember, I live", in 1980 he wrote: "I attended many concerts in which Muslim Magomayev sang, and there was never a case when the presenter had time to give the full name and surname of the artist. Usually, after the name "Muslim", such a standing ovation is heard that, despite on the most powerful speakers and all the efforts of the host, the name "Magomaev" is hopelessly drowning in an enthusiastic roar. They are used to it. As they are used to the fact that his name has long become a kind of landmark of our art. And also to the fact that any opera aria, any song he performs is always an expected miracle."

Muslim Magomayev's discography includes more than 45 records, as well as 15 CDs, including "Thank you" (1995), "Arias from operas and musicals. Neapolitan songs" (1996), "Soviet pop stars. Muslim Magomayev. The best "(2001)," Love is my song. Dreamland "(2001), and others.

On Saturday, the famous singer Iosif Kobzon told RIA Novosti: “The brightest page in the last half century has slammed shut. We didn’t have a more talented person. For those who knew him, they will be a reminder of the great talent of Muslim Magomayev, and for those who did not know him, they will be a revelation of his talent."

In turn, opera singer Paata Burchuladze, in an interview with the agency, noted: “Muslim Magomayev has always been the standard of love, friendship and a good relationship between people. I bowed to him, and the news of his death had a very strong effect on me ... This is a huge a loss for all of us. He was loved by all, whether they knew him personally or not."

On Saturday, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin expressed their condolences to the singer's family and friends. "Muslim Magomayev will forever remain in our memory as a real "star", as a symbol of an entire era. He generously gave his talent, his brilliant talent to people, and therefore he was sincerely loved. This is a great, irreparable loss for all of us, for our national culture, " - says the telegram of the Prime Minister, sent to the wife of the singer Tamara Sinyavskaya.

Last year, before his 65th birthday, in an interview with Novye Izvestiya, People's Artist of the USSR Magomayev said that he was not paid pensions either in Russia or in Azerbaijan: “I don’t have any pension in Russia. so long ago. I lived all my life in Moscow as a Bakuvian, married to a Muscovite Tamara Sinyavskaya. And I received Russian citizenship relatively recently. I even turned to Geidar Alievich about this (Heydar Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan in 1993-2000, - "Lenta.ru "). Since then, we have been receiving a certain bonus from Baku every month. This is not a pension, but a kind of gesture of the state for popularizing the republic and the people."

At the disposal of LIFE.RU were documents showing that Muslim Magomayev could have been saved from a fatal illness. Physicians at the Cardiology Center Bakulev prepared the great singer for a complex heart operation. Muslim Magomedovich did not live to see her for only a few days.

On November 11, the master of the national stage was supposed to go to the preoperative examination. Coronary bypass surgery was the last hope to save Magomayev's life. Only those closest to Muslim Magomayev knew: what is hidden behind the dry stamp “died after a long, prolonged illness ...”

Muslim Magomedovich courageously fought a terrible disease. Muslim Magometovich has been feeling very bad lately. He hardly left the house. The 66-year-old singer had serious problems with blood vessels, which provoked malfunctions in the heart.

Circulatory failure led to the fact that part of the heart ceased to be supplied with blood. On examination at the Cardiology Center. Bakuleva, where Muslim Magomayev was treated, in addition to tachycardia and hypertension, doctors discovered that he had a pathology of the heart muscle. Six months ago, the singer underwent an operation on the vessels, but, unfortunately, it did not give the expected result. "Angioplasty, on which cardiac surgeons made bets, did not produce results," the doctor of the cardio center does not hide. "The problem of narrowed vessels could not be solved." To improve blood circulation, doctors had to insert a special catheter into the vessels of Muslim Magometovich. The world-famous Baku citizen was operated on by the best specialists of the cardiology center.

Despite all the efforts of the doctors, Magomayev did not get better. The singer continued to suffer terrible pain. Then the doctors decided that only coronary bypass surgery could save the life of Muslim Magometovich.

"The singer had a very weak heart," the Bakulevka doctor shared. "In addition to the narrowed vessels, atherosclerotic plaques were found in him." With such a diagnosis, shunting is often the only way out. During the operation, a shunt is inserted into the vessel clogged with plaque and the blood flow is redirected to bypass the clogged part of the artery. “But for a long time, this operation was not decided,” continues our interlocutor. “If angioplasty is done under local anesthesia, then a complete one is needed for bypass surgery. And at a respectable age, this is a huge risk. You can never be completely sure that the patient’s heart will withstand anesthesia ".

After much deliberation, the doctors finally decided on bypass surgery. In the singer's medical record, they made a note that on November 11 he should go to the last preoperative examination. But Muslim Magometovich did not live to this day.

Muslim Magometovich Magomayev is referred to in all sources as an Azerbaijani (and, of course, Soviet) singer and composer. The famous baritone was born, indeed, in the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku. But did he have Azerbaijani ancestors at all, this is a big question

Origin of mother

Muslim Magometovich's mother, Aishet Akhmedovna, also belonged to the artistic environment. She was an actress, laureate of the Stalin Prize in 1941. The stage name of Aishet Akhmedovna is Kinzhalova. She was born in the capital of the Republic of Adygea, Maykop. Aishet Akhmedovna's father was a Turk, his mother was 50% Russian, 50% Adyghe.

Felix Kireev, a historian of Ossetian origin, studied the genealogy of the famous singer and made a very curious conclusion. Aishet Kinzhalova's grandfather could be Ossetian Ivan Aleksandrovich Khanzhalov. He was a nobleman of high birth, a White Guard colonel and head of the Vladikavkaz military district.

Naturally, in Soviet times, the famous actress could not “shine” with such a “non-worker-peasant” origin. Yes, and Muslim Magomayev himself never mentioned that his great-grandfather was an Ossetian and a royal subject. In the name of saving their lives and their children, Magomayev's ancestors had to forget about this part of their family tree.

Father's origin

Magomayev's father was a theater artist. According to official data, he was an Azerbaijani by nationality. Muslim Magometovich's paternal grandfather, Abdul-Muslim, was a renowned Azerbaijani and Chechen composer. The Philharmonic in Baku is named after him. But he came from an old Chechen family, or in Chechen teip, vashendora. Born in Grozny, the capital of the modern Chechen Republic.

Muslim Magomayev himself said that his paternal grandmother (Baghdagul-Jamal) was a Tatar. The singer avoided questions about the nationality of his grandfather. But in Chechnya, both his grandfather and great-grandfather are well known. The great-grandfather of Muslim Magometovich was a Chechen gunsmith, born in the village of Starye Atagi. It is there that the family nest of the Magomayevs is located, and their surname comes from there. Thus, it turns out that in the family of Muslim Magometovich there were Russians, Ossetians, Tatars, Turks, Adyghes and Chechens.

Despite such a motley mixture of different bloodlines, Muslim Magomayev himself always unequivocally defined his national identity. He considered himself only an Azerbaijani, probably paying tribute to the love and respect for the land that became his native. The singer spoke about himself like this: "Azerbaijan is my father, and Russia is my mother." Chechens, on the other hand, consider Muslim Magomayev theirs and are proud of him.
