When to go to Malaysia? The best time to travel. When to vacation in Malaysia

14.10.2019

The state of Malaysia is located in that part of Southeast Asia, where large and small islands are just a dime a dozen, and a traveler who has got to these parts always has a huge choice of where to go this time. Some islands are famous for their stunning beaches, others are places of pilgrimage, others are ethno-cultural centers. We suggest you familiarize yourself with the rating of the 10 most-most.

Pulau Pangkor

This extraordinarily picturesque island in the east of the country is the goal of many lovers of deluxe holidays in Asia. Sandy beaches with fine and light sand are bordered by dense jungle, in which life boils day and night. Local hotels are ready to fulfill any whim of a guest, and when you come here, you might think that you are in some unusual paradise. Among the island's attractions, the most popular are Niphah Bay, Fu Lin Kong Chinese Temple and the Dutch Fort.

Pulau Capas

The name of the island can be translated as "cotton". Perhaps this name Pulau Capas received because of the color of the local sand - it is snow white! Mostly lovers of scuba diving and a measured beach holiday come here.

Penang

This island was once uninhabited, but inhabited by people at the request of the East India Trading Company, which wants to open its "representation" in the Asian region. Today, the island is considered the pearl of Malaysia. Here the nightlife is perhaps even richer and more varied than the daytime one. One “but”: you can swim only on neighboring islands, where all kinds of ferries and ships are carried. In the coastal zone Penang too exuberant underwater life.

Pulau Tenggol

More recently Tenggol was uninhabited, but the colorful marine life around its shores became a powerful incentive for the development of the island. Today you can relax in one of several small hotels and dive in one of 20 places convenient for starting an underwater journey.

Sipadan

A small island that looks like a footprint is located near the popular resort island of Borneo. For a long time, Malaysia argued for the right to possess it with Indonesia and the Philippines. Today Sipadan is a protected area where it is forbidden to live, but many diving fans come here, stopping at the neighboring island of Mabul.

Pulau Mabul

This small island is located near the southeast coast of Sabah and is recommended to vacationers as a place "with the largest concentration of underwater life" Mabul. Don't want to swim underwater in a wetsuit? Choose Mabul anyway - here you can lie down under a coconut palm, comfortably sipping Pina Colada through an ornate tube.

Redang

The island is one of the largest in the east of the country. And, like many of its neighbors on this list, it is an ideal place for diving and little suitable for living. Only a couple of decent hotels, but ... what attracts vacationers here? Perhaps the opportunity to go on a jungle raid and combine it with diving into the ocean. In general, an island for those who want to be a little in the shoes of Robinson Crusoe.

Pulau Tioman

This island has been included in the rankings of the most beautiful islands in the world more than once! In fact, it is one of the most developed tourist destinations in the entire country. There is any kind of entertainment here: from natural attractions to religious places, from nightclubs to fashionable resorts. Tioman surrounded by a ring of coral reefs, so no matter which resort you choose, you will find a place to go snorkeling anyway.

Perhentians

Imagine white, like flour, sand and bright blue, like spilled ink, water. This is the islands Perhentians. There are two main islands - Big and Small. What can you do here? All the same - relaxing on the beach, swimming and watching underwater life. The hotel base here is small, but there is always a cozy place for 10 days. A big plus of rest on this island is the comparative cheapness.

Langkawi

This archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea is the most popular holiday destination for Malaysians and visitors to the country. The islands are on the border with and represent a crossroads of many cultures. For example, restaurants Langkawi offer a real assortment of dishes of Indian, Thai, Malaysian, Chinese cuisine. Many are sure that a beach holiday in Malaysia (reviews confirm this) is a true paradise. Comfortable hotels and tropical jungle are harmoniously combined and form magnificent complexes for recreation both in summer and in winter.

Resorts of Malaysia

This distant country attracts travelers with its extraordinary nature, excellent weather, which is always suitable for a beach holiday.

The islands of Malaysia are especially popular among tourists. in Penang and Langkawi delights with unusually beautiful and well-groomed beaches, luxurious nature and world-class hotels. There is always a secluded corner for those who want to be alone, take a break from the hustle and bustle. Many tourists like the mild climate that Malaysia is famous for. Beach holidays with children are especially good during the winter months, when the air does not warm up more than +32 degrees, and fresh winds from the sea allow you not to suffer from unbearable heat.

Malaysia in December

Winter is the best time to go to the fabulous warm Malaysia. Cheerful and always friendly Malaysians, lush greenery of exotic plants, stunning beaches and majestic mountains will instantly disperse your autumn-winter blues, make your vacation unique and memorable.

A beach holiday in Malaysia in December, as, indeed, in any other winter month, is a common phenomenon. Indeed, at this time it is sunny and very warm here (some people even think that it is hot). The average air temperature reaches +30 degrees.

In December 2015 in Malaysia, the air warmed up to +32 degrees. The "coldest" water was in the Borneo region (+29 degrees).

In December, Malaysia offers a lot of entertainment. Beach holidays are not the only activity. If you like to explore big cities and capitals of states, then (Kuala Lumpur) will surely interest you. This is a fairly large modern city. At first glance, it strikes with an abundance of greenery, which surprisingly combines with the sights of the capital, and many of them are unique. By the way, a beach holiday is also possible in the capital, but we will talk about this a little later.

And lovers of a relaxing pastime away from civilization are recommended to go to the Malaysian islands - Langkawi, Tioman, Penang, Redang.

Of course, for Russians, holidays in December are always associated with the celebration of the New Year, the purchase of gifts for relatives and friends. The main shopping centers are located in Kuala Lumpur. It should be noted that quite recently the capital of the country entered the top ten best cities in the world for shopping.

Malaysia: beach holidays in Kuala Lumpur

A young and modern city - the capital of the country, Kuala Lumpur - offers travelers to get acquainted with numerous sights, and after excursions, relax on one of the beaches located nearby.

The closest to the city, and therefore the most visited of them - "Port Dickson". It is located 30 km from the capital. The beach is well equipped: there is everything you need for relaxation - sun loungers, umbrellas, it is possible to rent equipment for water sports.

If tourists agree to spend about an hour on the road to the coast, they can go to Pankgor Island, which is located north of Kuala Lumpur. Here is one of the best beaches in the country.

From the capital, it is quite easy to get to Langkawi and Tioman. These are very beautiful places, so most of the townspeople prefer to relax here.

Malaysia in January

A beach holiday in Malaysia in January has its own characteristics. The air temperature here is still quite comfortable (+28 ... +33 ° C). But there is one inconvenience - very high humidity.

Malaysia is an unusual and vibrant country, not yet spoiled by the tourism business. Vibrant nightlife is found only in the capital - Kuala Lumpur. But about half of the country's territory is still covered with virgin forests, and the incredible variety of flora and fauna is pleasantly amazing. Vacationers especially like delicious fruits, often completely unfamiliar.

The long coastline has prepared for tourists an incredible number of beautiful beaches, mostly deserted. Marine nature will bring pleasure to divers and divers with its beauty and diversity.

The country is similar to Thailand in climate and nature, and perhaps nothing more. Malaysia is a Muslim state (albeit religiously free), there are no crowds of transvestites, affordable women and men, risky pleasures and entertainment here.

Malaysia is a multinational state, of course, this is reflected in its traditions and culture, which attracts ethnotourists here. This also influenced the cuisine - a bright mixture of Chinese, Malay, Indian culinary traditions.

In terms of life safety, Malaysia is among the best in Asia. Naturally, tourists are also not bad here. It is comfortable to relax in the country, the service is not bad even in inexpensive hotels, a wide variety of attractions, rich excursions, interesting people. But most importantly, Malaysia is hospitable, welcoming and waiting for you.

Prices for holidays in Langkawi. July 2018.

tour cost

A visa is not required for Russian citizens.

We booked tickets in March, flew through Kuala Lampur with Qatar Airways with transit through Doha - the cost of a ticket per person turned out to be around 31,000. Tickets to Langkawi by local airlines turned out to be about 3,500 per person round trip.

Prices for hotels on the island are not cheap. A double room (children free) at a boarding house (3 meals a day) cost about 120,000 for 10 days.

Food and products

Food prices are average, about the same as in Moscow - a modest dinner (1-2 dishes per person + dessert for children) for 2 adults and 2 children cost about 3,500 rubles with drinks. We ate at hotel restaurants, in city prices are more affordable, there are fast foods with more budget prices, about the same as in Moscow.

Souvenirs and other goods

There are many DUTY FREE shops on the island, the range of which is the same as duty-free shops at airports. Prices seemed to us even a little more expensive than at the airport. Most of all, I was surprised by the prices for fruits, mango for 300 rubles / kg, passion fruit - 350 rubles / kg - very expensive, while the quality leaves much to be desired, the assortment is practically absent.

Locals call the capital of Malaysia by another name, Key-El. The city itself is located on a peninsula called Malacca. It is located in the place where the two rivers Gombak and Klang join. There are no beaches in the capital itself, but from here you can easily get to the main beaches, which are in great demand among vacationers. From Kuala Lumpur, getting to the same Penang or Langkawi is not so easy, because you need to spend quite a lot of time and money. Choosing Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia as a tour for a beach holiday is not suitable. People come to this city in order to get to know the history, architecture and traditions better.

The beaches of Langkawi

One of the best places to go for vacationers in search of a quality beach holiday. From this place it is easy to go to Cenang Beach, where the infrastructure is very well developed and there are excellent landscapes. It takes 10-15 minutes to get from the mono airport. The beach called Tengah is very popular, where there is always clear water and a calm sea. Especially in demand among romantic couples and those looking for a place to hide the beach, which is located near the airport. On the beach, real life begins at night, and during the day it is very calm here.

Beach in Penang

These beaches are famous for a large number of attractions. Here you can find a lot of luxury hotels, a beautiful coastline where you can wander forever. Often vacationers are offered horseback riding for a fee. On this island, the most popular beaches are Teluk Bahang, which are located on the outskirts of the island in the western part, Tanjung Bungah, which is famous for its large number of reefs and vegetation, as well as Telun Bahang, where you can find several secluded bays. It is best not to visit these beaches in the month of January.

Port Dickson Beach

Another good option for tourists is the beach, which is located in the area of the port of Dixon. Comfort here is minimal, the water is not very clean, because there is an oil refinery very close by. Swimming here is neither pleasant nor safe at the same time. On the opposite coast are the islands of Pankor and Kuatan, where the conditions for recreation are considered more favorable than here. There are no large number of normal beaches near the capital of Malaysia and the water here is not the same, for which it is worth going here if the purpose of the trip is a beach holiday. There are places where the water will be clean, but they are very few. That is why there is never a large number of tourists who will come to sunbathe and swim.

Redang - although the largest island in the archipelago of the same name, it is wild enough so that tourists can not only go diving, but also feel like Robinsons. True, the beach here is one of the best in Malaysia, but also at the expense of beauty, and not the conveniences of modern civilization. Neither fishing around the island (3 km of the forbidden zone), nor water skiing is allowed, so peace and quiet reign on Redang. From August to September, giant shellless tortoises migrate in the coastal waters of the island.

The best time for diving on the island- from May to October.
