    Magic and science often go together. For a scientist, there are no miracles: seemingly fantastic phenomena are easily explained. For a simple person, laboratory experiments look amazing and bewitching. This article will lift the veil of some of the secrets of chemistry. With the help of the proposed tricks, you can easily impress loved ones and feel like a sorcerer.

    Knowing the laws of chemistry, you can conduct vivid experiments that will not leave anyone indifferent. Consider three spectacular tricks that are doable at home. They are able to please both children and adults, and inspire new magical discoveries. In skillful hands, ordinary items easily become magical.

    Volcano on a plate

    Waking up a dormant volcano at home can be done in minutes. With the correct and accurate conduct of the experiment, it looks impressive.

    Necessary props:

    • plasticine;
    • water;
    • soda;
    • vinegar;
    • red and orange dyes.

    Conducting experience

    1. Making a dormant volcano

    First you need to wrap plasticine around a cut paper cone, which resembles a volcano in shape. We put the workpiece on a flat plate. It must be larger than the bottom of the volcano: lava will erupt on it. You can decorate the foot of the volcano with artificial grass.

    2. Cooking lava.

    Pour baking soda into the crater of the volcano (the amount depends on the size of the structure). We fill the cavity of the volcano by a maximum of a third. Then you need to add dye. The best effect is achieved with a combination of red and orange: this way the lava will look more natural.

    Actions No. 1 and No. 2 are better not to be carried out in front of the audience - then the experiment will make the strongest impression on them.

    3. We call an eruption.

    Having prepared the audience with a story about the unique magical awakening of the volcano, we move on to the climax of the trick. Carefully add vinegar and watch the eruption of the volcano and the delight of the audience. It is better to pour vinegar from a transparent beautiful container - then from the outside it will look like ordinary water.

    fireproof money

    This simple trick is consistently a huge success. Surely the audience will want to watch it more than once, so the materials should be taken with a margin.

    Necessary props:

    • banknote;
    • water;
    • alcohol;
    • salt;
    • tweezers;
    • Bowl.

    Conducting experience

    1. Preparing the magic solution.

    We make a solution of water and alcohol in a ratio of 1: 1. Then add a pinch of salt and mix thoroughly. Pour into the solution in a beautiful container, then to show the audience the “magic liquid”.

    2. We impregnate money with “magic”.

    In front of the audience, we fill the bowl with the solution. We lower the bill there and let it get wet. The main thing is not to overdo it, otherwise the paper will become limp and tear when you try to get it.

    3. We set fire to the banknote.

    At this stage it is better to work with tweezers. Holding the banknote firmly, we bring the lighter and quickly take the fire away from ourselves. Do this very carefully so that the flame does not catch on surrounding objects. The burning will stop fairly quickly, and the money will remain unscathed. This is the merit of the “magic solution”: alcohol burns out before the flame has time to dry the water and burn the bill.

    You can attract viewers to the trick and, for the purity of the experiment, repeat the experience with their money. This trick will work with any paper. A beautiful experience with an open book.

    To impress the audience more, cast complex spells, impregnating objects with a protective elixir. We also recommend conducting an experiment in which an empty flask emits a bright flame.

    purple smoke

    This is a very original chemical experiment. The reaction proceeds with the release of flames, sparks and thick purple smoke.

    Necessary props:

    • aluminum powder;
    • water;
    • tempered glass, metal or ceramic bowl;
    • pipette or bottle with dispenser.

    Conducting experience

    1. Cooking magic liquid.

    With distilled water, the experience will be better. The distillate can be purchased ready-made, or you can make it yourself by conducting a separate chemical experiment. For this magic trick, you only need a few drops. For convenience, you should use a vial with a special dispenser, although a pipette is also suitable.

    2. Choose a location for the experiment.

    Since the experience is accompanied by the release of smoke, it is important to observe safety precautions. The main condition is a well-ventilated room, preferably a fume hood. Making purple smoke at home is not safe. In the absence of a hood, it is better to demonstrate this experience on the street.

    3. Cooking magic powder.

    Pour aluminum shavings into the ceramic bowl. Make a recess in the hill, add iodine solution there and mix lightly. Ordinary glassware is not suitable for this experiment: it will not withstand high temperatures and will burst.

    4. Making purple smoke

    In order for our magic powder to ignite, slowly add the previously prepared solution drop by drop. The mixture will quickly burst into a bright flame, sparks will fly, and will fall into a thick purple smoke.

    Water serves as a catalyst and activates iodine. Due to this, aluminum loses its protective film and a reaction takes place. As a result, combustion begins with sublimation of the halogen. Magnesium powder will give a similar effect. By changing the ratio of aluminum (or magnesium) shavings and iodine, you can get either more smoke or more fire. If you add iodine in excess, the heat of reaction will go to sublimate this halogen, and the mixture will not catch fire. There will just be a lot of smoke.

    We hope this article will inspire you to do more science tricks. Studying chemistry will help you learn many interesting facts. Knowledge of chemistry will always come in handy in everyday life, and it will also help to surprise friends.

    We suggest you do four simple tricks with your body. You will be surprised when you can hold a person in place with just one index finger, make your hands lighter than air, or lengthen your nose. (15 photos)

    Trick 1: "I bet you can't stand up"
    Have your friend sit on a chair.

    Ask him to cross his arms over his chest.

    Press your index finger on his forehead.

    Now let him try to get up. It is almost impossible to do this without the help of hands.

    Trick 2: "Hands are lighter than air"
    Stand in the doorway.

    Press your hands firmly in both directions. The palms should be directed inward.

    After 30 seconds, stand in an empty seat.

    You will immediately feel lightness in your hands - as if they would begin to strive upward without any effort on your part.

    Trick 3: "Very long nose"
    Sit on the chair behind your friend.

    Place the index finger of your right hand on his nose, and your left hand on yours.

    Close your eyes and at the same time move both fingers up and down along your nose. After 60 seconds, it will begin to seem to you that you are touching your nose with both your left and right hands!

    Trick 4: "In different directions"
    Sit on a chair. Cross your legs and start moving your foot clockwise.

    And now at the same time begin to draw a circle in the air counterclockwise with your hand.

    You will feel how your brain will try to solve two opposite tasks at the same time.

    In the end, he will give up and give the command to rotate both the leg and the arm in one direction.
