Santa Claus

Step by step instructions on how to draw Santa Claus.

1. Draw Santa Claus you need to start with the outlines of the beard and head. They are two intersecting circles. For the head, make a larger circle than for the beard.

2. Draw a horizontal line in the center of the picture, which will show us where the center of the face is.

3. Now draw two circles above the center line, with the circles on the smaller circle. These two small circles will be the eyes.

4. Then draw a circle slightly larger than the circles for the eyes. This circle should only cross the center line at the edge. This will be the nose of our Santa Claus.

5. Now let's draw an arc at the top of the big circle. The resulting line will be the outline of the future cap.

6. Santa's hat consists of lines that run parallel to each other. The bottom of the cap should cover the entire top of the larger circle. The cap cap consists of a curved line and a circle. The line should not be perfectly even, otherwise the cap will not look natural.

7. Let's start drawing the mustache and beard. The beard is shaped like a heart. Mustaches are curved lines. Try to keep each of the mustaches similar. Then Santa Claus will look more accurate.

8. On the center line where the beard reaches the face, draw the ears.

9. Now draw the pupils in the eyes and two arcs above them - these are the eyebrows.

10. Highlight all the main contours with smoother lines, similar to lokans. On the cap, make the lines wavy.

11. Erase all auxiliary lines and decorate Santa Claus.

"Jack Frost"

Arkady Alexandrovich Plastov.

Only God forgot to change

The harsh share of the peasant woman.

N. A. Nekrasov

The habitual thought of the poet

She is in a hurry to run ahead:

Like a shroud, dressed in snow,

The hut in the village is

In the hut - a calf in the basement,

The dead man on the bench by the window;

His stupid children make noise,

Wife sobs softly.

Stitching with a nimble needle

On shroud pieces of linen,

Like rain, charged for a long time,

She sobs softly.

Beauty, marvelous to the world,

Blush, slim, tall,

Beautiful in every dress

Dexterity for any work.

And hunger, and cold endures,

Always patient, even...

I saw how she mows:

What a wave - then a mop is ready!

The handkerchief fell into her ear,

Look, the braids will fall.

Some guy screwed up

And threw them up, fool!

On weekdays, he does not like idleness.

But you don't recognize her

How the smile of fun will drive away

From the face of the labor seal.

Such heartfelt laughter

And songs and dances

Money can't buy. "Joy!" -

The men are talking to each other.

They always have a warm house,

The bread is baked, the kvass is delicious,

Healthy and well-fed guys

There is an extra piece for the holiday.

This woman is coming to dinner

In front of the whole family ahead:

Sits like on a chair, two years old

The baby is on her chest

Next to a six year old son

The elegant uterus leads ...

And to the heart of this picture

To all those who love the Russian people!

Happened in a deep snowdrift

Half a day he stand,

Then in the heat, then in the chill

Three days to follow the underwater:

The dead man was in a hurry

Deliver the goods to the place.

The old woman washed him

Water from nine spindles

And took me to a hot bath

No, he didn't get better!

Savraska got stuck in half a snowdrift -

Two pairs of frozen bast shoes

Yes, the corner of a bast-covered coffin

They stick out of poor firewood.

Old woman in big mittens

Savraska came down to goad her.

Icicles on her eyelashes

From the cold, I suppose.

And Daria returned home -

Clean up, feed the kids.

Ay-ay! how the hut got cold!

Hurrying to fire up the oven

But look - not a log of firewood!

The poor mother thought:

Leave her sorry kids

I would like to caress them

Yes, there is no time for affection.

A widow brought them to a neighbor.

And immediately, on the same savraska,

I went to the forest, for firewood ...

I got up early, bitter,

I didn’t eat at home, I didn’t take it with me,

Until the night plowed arable land,

At night I riveted a braid,

In the morning I went to mow...

Stronger you, little legs, stand!

White hands, don't whine!

One has to hurry!

In the field of one, it's nasty,

In the field of one disrespectful

I will call cute!

My dream was in hand, dear!

Dream before Spasovy day.

I fell asleep alone in the field

Afternoon, with a sickle,

I see - it leaves me

Strength is an innumerable army, -

Waving his arms ominously

His eyes sparkle menacingly.

I thought to run away

Yes, the legs did not obey.

I began to ask for help

I began to scream loudly.

He spent the summer working

Winter did not see the children,

Nights thinking about him

I didn't close my eyes.

He rides, chills ... and I, sad,

From fibrous linen

As if his road is alien,

I pull a long thread.

My spindle is jumping, spinning,

It hits the floor.

The proklushka is on foot, it is baptized in a pothole,

He harnesses himself to the cart on the hill.

Summer after summer, winter after winter,

That's how we got the treasury!

The cart, creaking, drives up -

Savraska looks at her

And Proklushka walks big

Behind a cartload of sheaves of gold.

“God help! And where is Grisha?

Father casually said.

“In peas,” said the old woman.

"Grishukha!" father screamed,

Looked at the sky. "Tea, isn't it early?

I would like to drink ... ”- The hostess gets up

And Proclus from a white jug

He serves kvass to get drunk.

Grishukha, meanwhile, responded:

Peas entangled in a circle,

The nimble little boy seemed

Running green bush.

Not a sound! Soul dies

For grief, for passion. standing

And you feel how conquers

Her dead silence.

Not a sound! And you see blue

The vault of the sky, yes the sun, yes the forest,

In silver-matt hoarfrost

Dressed up, full of miracles,

Attracting an unknown mystery,

Deeply impassive... But here

A random rustle was heard -

The tops of the protein goes.

Whom the snow she dropped

On Daria, jumping on a pine tree.

And Daria stood and froze

In my enchanted dream...

N. A. Nekrasov and his poem "Frost, Red Nose"

December 10 marks the 195th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov (1821-1878). His poem "Frost, Red Nose" is one of the three most popular and studied in detail. Nevertheless, there are not many studies devoted to the design of Nekrasov's works, despite the fact that famous artists illustrated the writer's creative heritage at different times. In the XIX-XX centuries. artists of various kinds turned to Nekrasov’s works, finding in his poetry a lot of fascinating things for themselves: A. I. Lebedev, E. M. Boehm, A. F. Pakhomov, A. A. Plastov, K. and F. Melnikovs, V. M. Beskaravayny, F.V. Lemkul and others. The poem "Frost, Red Nose" attracts illustrators by the brightness, accuracy and color of images, the special picturesqueness of the literary language.

Something from Nekrasov

Among the artists of the past who turned to illustrating Nekrasov, the first place, by right, should be given to Alexander Ignatievich Lebedev (1830-1898). The album of his drawings "Something from Nekrasov" enjoyed considerable success. The album contains lithographs: a portrait of Nekrasov, drawings for the poems "Vlas", "Troika", "Peasant Children", "Frost, Red Nose", "Cheap Purchase", "On the Volga", "Funeral". These are easel compositions inspired by the themes of Nekrasov's poetry. They showed extraordinary observation, interest in social problems, sympathy for the "little man", criticism of the existing order, that is, features that are very typical of Nekrasov's work.

Elizabeth Boehm

Nekrasov, the poet of village life, appears before us in the illustrations of the magnificent artist - Elizaveta Merkuryevna Boehm (nee Endaurova). Born in St. Petersburg on February 24, 1843, in an old noble family.

Pen on stone

E. Böhm worked in the technique of lithography with a pen on stone, which allowed her to make the finest study of all the details, which would have been impossible when cutting with scissors. Using this technique, drawings for N. Nekrasov's poem "Frost, Red Nose", published in 1872 by A. Ilyin and representing a folder of six numbered tone lithographs in a cover depicting a fabulous spruce, executed in the classical technique of a lithographic pencil, were executed.

Manuscript

Arkhangelsk Regional Scientific Library named after V.I. N. A. Dobrolyubova keeps a handwritten book, which uses 6 illustrations by Elizabeth Boehm from the 1872 edition. Each composition illustrates certain lines of the poem, all of them are solved vertically and are located in the center of the sheet, at the bottom of which the verses are printed. Here, the artist's love for depicting the Russian village and children is already noticeable - two themes that have passed through all her work.

The culture of pencil drawing

Pakhomov Alexey Fedorovich (1900-1973) achieved significant success in drawings for N. A. Nekrasov's poem "Frost, Red Nose", published in 1938. Pakhomov's works are distinguished by a high culture of pencil drawing. Among the illustrations for Nekrasov's poem, they remain unsurpassed, retaining their significance today as a brilliant example of a deep and original reading of the classics. It is also important that his drawings combined the depth of understanding of the writer's intention of the poem and knowledge of the Russian village.

Academician of painting A. A. Plastov

The edition of N. A. Nekrasov “Frost, Red Nose”, published by the State Publishing House of Fiction in 1949, looks very attractive. The design and illustrations were made by the academician of painting, artist A. A. Plastov. The artist paid much attention to the overall design of the publication. Large format book bound in blue leather. The author's name and title are placed on the top cover in an embossed golden frame. The spine of the book is decorated with floral ornaments. On the frontispiece there is a drawing - N. A. Nekrasov on the hunt.

Bright, original illustrations for the poem by N. Nekrasov

Plastov does not just retell the plot of the poem, he draws attention to secondary plots, side moments, which make his illustrations interesting. The composition and layout of the artistic elements of the book, the ratio of drawing and font are thought out to the smallest detail. The text of the author and the design of the book are one whole. The endpapers are decorated with pictures of a winter forest. Of the 76 pages, 20 are illustrations. Almost every page contains small drawings - inserts that complement the author's text.

Palekh beauty

An amazingly beautiful performance of the poem was published in Yaroslavl in the Upper Volga Book Publishing House in 1975. The illustrators were Konstantin and his wife Faina Melnikovs. Both graduated from the Palekh Art School, worked in the Palekh Art and Production Workshops. Engaged in book illustration. The themes of their works: folklore, literature, genre scenes, as well as a passion for Palekh, affected the illustrations for Nekrasov's poem. The book is available in the Arkhangelsk Regional Scientific Library. N. A. Dobrolyubova.

Drawings by V. M. Beskaravayny

In 1975, another edition was published in the Leningrad branch of the Khudozhestvennaya Literatura publishing house, combining 2 poems under one cover at once: Frost, Red Nose and Russian Women. The illustrator was Vasily Mitrofanovich Beskaravayny (1930-1997). Drawings by V. M. Beskaravayny: watercolor, engraving, sketches, sketches.

Watercolor lightness and transparency of the picture

Arkhangelsk Regional Scientific Library named after V.I. N. A. Dobrolyubov has an edition of N. Nekrasov’s poem “Frost, Red Nose”, published in 1987, with illustrations by F. V. Lemkul. The artistic expressiveness of the illustrations was limited by the possibilities of a very modest printing base at that time. Of paramount importance was an accurate, clear, detailed drawing. The master's favorite technique used in the book is watercolor. The artist perfectly used its expressive possibilities: lightness, color transparency, its overflow and inner light.
