Pixel drawings by cells are easy. Ballpoint pens for pixel art

19.05.2019

It can be difficult to surprise children, but this does not mean that it is impossible to do it. And after a whole day of running, jumping, dancing, playing, everyone should calm down a little and do something creative and developing. Small drawings by cells come to the rescue. When you need to keep the kids busy, pull out a large piece of checkered paper so the kids can draw together.

Small grid drawings, a good idea or a bad idea?

Of course, small drawings on the cells in a notebook are also a good idea, especially when you are on the road with a child and there is nothing to keep him busy. Small and cute, they will help your child have a good time, they will get the most out of such activities. Small drawings on the cells in a notebook is a simple artistic activity that combines art and mathematics.

Tools for drawing small pictures by cells

Don't tell the kids too much, make a surprise, take different types of paper, markers or colored pencils and pens and let the kids start drawing. Drawings can be arbitrary, sometimes it is useful to allow the child to develop imagination through drawing. But you can choose specific ones for 5 years.

If you have a home printer, then that's great. You can customize and create your own graphic paper in a dedicated application. They have many options for graphic paper - regular square, triangle, and more. But decide on this step after the children have mastered drawing by cells. It's still easy to choose the size of the shape you need, the thickness, the color of the lines, and more in the app. Then the layout is simply saved as a pdf and you can print it immediately.

Using regular checkered paper, you can make simple repeating patterns, checkerboard patterns. You can merge squares to make big shapes and split squares into triangles and smaller squares and even octagons to make all sorts of interesting images.

Triangles and hexagons also work well for patterns and paintings. For those who already cope well with different shapes and are well versed in the basics of geometric shapes, you can take emoticons from VK as a template. Let your child choose their favorite emoticons and redraw them in their notebook. Animals are a good idea too.

Drawing them for the first time may not be so easy if you use cells, but in fact, children will quickly pick up this idea and after some time they will be able to embody the most daring ideas on a sheet in a cell.

Even though it's a simple idea, it leaves a lot of room for creativity, which with lots of random math concepts is a big bonus for a child's development.

Graphic dictation

It is worth noting that tasks with graphic paper are popular in kindergartens. One of the common tricks is to create a drawing without a sample. This is a kind of graphic dictation. This task is easy to reproduce at home with your child. For this exercise, we will use 4x4 sheets of paper. Starting from the top left corner, we will begin to fill in the squares using simple instructions. These instructions include:

  1. move one square to the right;
  2. move one square to the left;
  3. move one square up;
  4. move one square down. This is how we will write the algorithm to instruct the child (who will fill in the cells).

Choose a simple pattern, such as a checkerboard, to be used as an example. This is a good way to enter all the characters in a key. To get started, complete the chart for your child, square by square, then ask them to help describe what you just did. First, you can speak the algorithm out loud, then you can turn your verbal instructions into a program. Algorithm example: “Move right, fill square, move right, move down. Fill square, move left, move left, fill square.

If the child copes well with this exercise, then this is an occasion to come up with an alternative task with a similar essence, but more difficult. If there is still confusion, save this activity and try again the next day, but in the meantime, work on another example.

If the child understands the algorithm and can identify the correct symbols for each step, he is ready to move on. Depending on your child and their age and development, you can either try to make a complex grid together or move on to having the child work in pairs with a friend. They will enjoy playing together, giving each other such tasks. This is a great way to get your child to get creative by coming up with their own fun pictures and breaking them down into algorithms for moving around the cells and filling them in.

Cell drawings It's a great way to entertain yourself when you're bored. Drawing is easy and simple - you just need to follow the already prepared geometry of the notebook - small squares. The dimensions of the squares are very convenient - five by five millimeters. Ordinary school notebooks of the form factor 205mm * 165mm (height - twenty centimeters and five millimeters, width - sixteen centimeters and five millimeters) are perfect for drawing. In such notebooks, 1353 squares (one thousand three hundred and fifty three) will be available for creativity at your disposal. But that's not all! Recently, the so-called student formats of notebooks have become popular - according to the fatcore form, they have a larger size that is almost equal to an A4 landscape sheet. The exact dimensions of such a student notebook are twenty-eight centimeters high and twenty centimeters five millimeters wide! Accordingly, the area of \u200b\u200bthe canvas is five hundred and seventy-four centimeters, or two thousand, two hundred and ninety-six squares for drawing! If this is not enough for you, you can go to a professional level. Let me explain what I mean: there are much larger canvases for drawing by cells - these are the so-called graph papers. Graph paper - or as it is called, "scale-coordinate drawing paper" - is a professional profile paper for building accurate graphs, maps, drawing details. The conditional section of graph paper is one millimeter! There are also lines denoting the sides of a square of five millimeters and one centimeter, they stand out against the general background with a thick line. A small disadvantage of graph paper can be considered the fact that it is usually not white, but greenish or reddish. However, when coloring with colored pens, this will not be a problem - everything will be in color anyway. In a word, if you are an avid fan of drawing by cells, graph paper will be a real discovery for you. It's practically pixel-by-pixel painting! Having chosen the format of a notebook sheet for drawing, you should also take care of other physical characteristics of the paper.

Among them, the most important are two indicators - density and whiteness. Density, for example, directly affects whether the pattern will show through or not. Agree, gaps are not very good. So - the optimal paper density in a drawing notebook is fifty-five grams per square meter (no less), if more - it's only good. Whiteness, in simple terms, is a shade of white. The optimal paper whiteness is eighty-two to ninety-six percent. It should also be understood here - too white is not good, too dark is also bad. Nevertheless, you should not worry about this, because most manufacturers make notebooks in the range of 82-96 percent, as laid down in state standards for the manufacture of notebooks.

How to color the cells? As a rule, they paint with what is at hand - most often it is a simple blue ballpoint pen, or gray pencils. But you must admit, painting with two colors is not very cool! Here a wide range of colored pens, pencils, felt-tip pens, crayons comes to our aid. You can buy them in any department of the office, the prices are quite different and depend on the manufacturer, the number of colors, brand, quality. In any case, the choice is very wide and you are sure to find something for yourself! Which colored pens are best for creativity - ordinary ballpoint, gel, capillary or oil? It is our firm belief that it is better to use ballpoint or oil pens for drawing by squares. Gel ones are of course very bright, but they have a big drawback - they are smeared on paper, which can eventually ruin the whole drawing. Capillary pens are very similar to felt-tip pens - they are also bright, but have another drawback - their ink is very strong and often soaks the sheet of paper. If possible, you should buy oil pens. They do not smear, do not stain hands, and glide very smoothly over paper. Ideal option for drawing by cells! If you are a fan of felt-tip pens, then also know that they are divided into two large subspecies: water-based and alcohol-based. Water-based felt-tip pens are more common - and for good reason, because they are safer. Also, this type of felt-tip pens has a very large selection of colors. Of the disadvantages - they can get wet paper. So it's not the best option for drawing. Another type is alcohol markers. Going straight to the disadvantages, we note that they can also shine through the paper and also have a very pungent alcohol smell. I doubt you will like it! The third coloring tool is pencils. To date, they are divided into four large types - wooden colored pencils, watercolor, wax and plastic. Wooden pencils are familiar to all of us since childhood, they are well suited for drawing by cells, but they have one big drawback - they often break. The other two types - wax and plastic - do not have this problem, but their outlines are thicker, which is not very good for drawing on elegant squares. Finally, watercolor pencils are the newest trend. Their peculiarity is that you first need to draw with a pencil, and then develop the drawing with a wet brush. With all the advantages of watercolor pencils, we do not recommend using them for drawing in cells - there will be wetting and gaps. Thus, we can draw a small conclusion - it is best to draw in squares with oil pens! What brands of pens, pencils and felt-tip pens are recommended to buy? So, a small rating: Handles - BIC Cristal, BIC Decor, BIC Orange, BIC 4 COLORS FASHION. Pencils - Koh-i-Noor, DERWENT, DALER ROWNEY, Faber Castell. Felt pens - Crayola, RenArt, Centropen. Crayons - Rowney Perfix, Blair No Odor Spray Fix, Melissa & Doug, Kite, Rainbow.

Happy creativity!

A fascinating and at the same time developing activity - drawing by cells - helps children who do not know how to draw at all, moving from simple to complex, develop imagination, artistic skills. Older children use similar drawings for decoration in a notebook, album. Even complex drawings are completed relatively quickly.

The benefits of drawing by cells

Thanks to an exciting activity, you can have an interesting time. Special skills are not required.

Drawing by cells develops:

  • artistic taste;
  • coordination;
  • creative thinking.

For children involved in this type of art, drawing has a calming effect: restless children gradually become assiduous. The nervous system is especially relaxed if you turn on calm music during creativity. Toddlers preparing to go to first grade develop spelling vigilance.

With them it is useful to engage in drawing by cells in order to instill perseverance, to help overcome absent-mindedness. With the help of drawings by cells, you can decorate the pages of your personal diary or weekly. This type of drawing gives everyone the opportunity to feel like a real artist.

How to draw

To draw by cells, you should stock up on a notebook in a cage, a notepad. For large format images, graph paper is required. You will also need pencils, felt-tip pens, colored pens. These accessories will be needed to create unusual bright images.

What can you draw

Absolutely everything is drawn: nature, animals, emoticons, plants, cartoon characters. There are drawings for boys and girls. You should start with simple drawings. They are drawn mostly in one color. For example, for starters, you can decorate a notebook with funny emoticons. Then you can start drawing cool goodies.

You can draw on paper a pink donut, a hamburger, or breakfast: scrambled eggs plus orange juice.

How to draw

At first, it is necessary to calculate the cells before starting work, to build diagrams.
Such preparation will help to create without breaking away from the process. Later, as you acquire the skill, you can draw as you like: fill in the middle, start from the outline, draw in columns.

Easy drawings for beginners

"Pixel" drawings have gained popularity among people of all ages. To begin with, you should pay attention to simple images. By the number of cells involved, simple drawings differ from complex ones. In a simple image, it is easier to follow the scheme and not spoil the drawing by adding an unnecessary square.

Drawings by cells for little ones

If the kid wants to draw, but he doesn’t succeed, you should use very simple schemes and teach the child the technique of painting over the cells. It is important that the lesson does not last long and does not tire the baby.. For example, a child can independently create a greeting card for mom, dad, grandmother. You can draw with pencils or felt-tip pens.

small drawings

Small images are a good way to pass the time. They are popular with children who want to pass the time in class, and with adults during moments of relaxation.
Such an activity gives you the opportunity to relax, enjoy the process itself. In one change, the student is able to create a whole drawing.

Large and complex full-page drawings

Depending on the area of the image that is painted over, the complexity of the drawing is determined. If individual squares of a large drawing are easily distinguishable near, then a clear image is visible from afar - realism appears. It seems that drawing a complex image is not easy. But the principle remains the same.

For complex drawings you will need:

  • notebook in a cage;
  • colour pencils;
  • black gel pen;
  • markers;
  • the photo;
  • a computer.

For girls

Girls decorate pages with their favorite poems, songs with drawings, place images on the sheets of their diaries. Start with simple images, gradually moving to complex ones. First of all, they take the finished drawing as a basis and redraw it. Later, having acquired skills, skills, they include fantasy in the work.

For boys

Boys choose topics that are close to them:

Drawings by cells in a notebook (especially complex ones) develop perseverance and imagination, help determine the profession.

Beautiful drawings for a personal diary

Some people write down the events of the day in a special notebook every day. Images made by cells help to decorate it. You can select pictures that match the theme. If leprosy of pets is described, funny faces of dogs and cats are placed on the pages. If the plot of the cartoon or movie you like is described, draw its main characters.

You can choose a suitable picture for any kind of cosmetics, reasoning about fashion.

black and white

Black and white images are considered a separate trend in art. You can choose from a variety of options for redrawing from the simplest to the most complex.

In the collections of black and white pictures there are:

  • cats,
  • dogs,
  • pandas,
  • tigers,
  • horses,
  • birds,
  • lizards.

Most often, such images are made with a pencil or a black gel pen.

colored

Drawings by cells made in a notebook is a good way to learn how to draw, starting with the simplest black and white drawings and gradually moving on to complex color ones.
The style of drawing with a pencil is gaining popularity in recent years. For color images, felt-tip pens, crayons, pencil sets are used. First, redraw the template.

3D drawings

The main property of a three-dimensional image is realism. It is difficult to achieve such a result. To "step over" from one environment to another, various effects are used. For example, they use a way of playing light, shadows - it is considered the simplest.

When making 3D drawings, they also use other techniques: do not forget about the difference in drawing lines on a plane, in space. Cells serve as simple elements within a single image, they act as pixels that set a certain resolution.

For a birthday

In the pixel technique of drawing by cells, you can decorate postcards, posters. It is enough to choose the template you like and transfer it to paper. You can choose a bright cheerful picture with funny animal images and inscriptions. Flowers are an obligatory attribute of the holiday. You should depict those that the birthday man likes and write wishes inside.

For the New Year

New Year's pictures should create the appropriate mood. A great option is to draw a snowman, a Christmas tree. To start, you can use a simple pencil, and then circle the image with a felt-tip pen to make it brighter. Balls, Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, forest animals, gifts, the symbol of the year - all these images relate to the New Year theme.

Drawn images can be cut out and hung on a thread on a Christmas tree.

By March 8 and February 23

By these dates, children can make gifts with their own hands. And the basis of the postcards will be exactly the drawings in the cells.
Girls, for example, can congratulate boys with postcards with images of equipment (tanks, planes, armored vehicles) made in the cells. The boys can easily draw dotted pictures of flowers to please the girls.

Names

Drawings by cells from the simplest suitable for an image in a notebook are names, logos. They will look more complex if you decorate the first letter with a vine of a climbing plant.
Such drawings are performed with a pencil, marker, black gel pen. Preliminary calculation of cells can be omitted.

About love

You can draw on the cells something from a love theme, for example, depict a heart, a rose, an arrow of cupid. These stories are great for Valentine's Day greeting cards. You can use both ready-made schemes, and come up with your own. An interesting option is kissing figures. They can be made in black and white and decorated with a red heart.

Lips

They are often shown in color. The top is always darker than the bottom because of the play of light - it remains in the shade, so they use different shades of the same tone.
If you need to make a bend, you should “drown” the lip at a large angle inward. The technique is simple, even a child can master it, but care will be required.

Anime

Anime includes various directions, genres, designed for any age category.

Drawings by cells in a notebook, complex and simple, are more often done with a pencil. The most famous plots include Naruto, the monster next to the desk, the master of the sword, Dragonball. Various images of cat ears are popular - they emphasize innocence. Favorite heroes are also the black prince and the she-wolf.

minecraft

You should start by redrawing ready-made templates. Among the simple and complex topics, you need to choose the first. The practice of copying will prepare for the image of Minecraft on paper. After gaining experience, you can pick up colored pencils and fantasize on a given topic. First you need to deal with the composition. Then, observing the proportions, count the cells for painting.

Minecraft style drawings are considered a unique opportunity to combine virtual images with art.

Animals

It is appropriate to depict the natural world together with children. The opinion that it is difficult to depict it on paper is erroneous. It is enough to find simple drawings of your favorite animals. Starting to create, they count a certain number of cells in the right direction. The number of filled squares should clearly correspond to the pattern - neither decrease nor increase.

Otherwise, the image will be unnatural. Cartoon characters are great for starting. A panda, a pony, a curious puppy, a restless kitten are drawn very simply. It is important to maintain proportions and redraw the drawing carefully.

Food

A flight of fancy allows you to create exceptional dishes on paper: complex cakes, multi-tiered cakes, hamburgers, pizza.
It is not necessary to have the talent of an artist to create bitmaps, it is enough to find sample pictures. All sweet tooth can draw ice cream, experimenting with the shape, colors.

Flowers

Drawings by cells in a notebook, complex and simple in the form of flowers, can be an original ornament. Images of plants are also a suitable subject for creating a greeting card, an invitation to a celebration. You can draw tulips, roses, daisies, both collected in bouquets and scattered over the entire field of the sheet.

It is important not to deviate from the scheme in order to correctly convey the outlines of each flower. For a repeating motif, the required number of cells is counted. You can experiment with the color palette.

Fruit

Starting from kindergarten, children should be taught to depict the world around them. Such an activity forms figurative thinking, helps to quickly remember the names of objects. When drawing with your child, you should help him choose a picture to draw.

The simplest drawing is the image of an apple. If you want to complicate it, you need to add a twig and a leaf. Many children like to draw fruits that they like to taste. This is how bananas, pears, oranges, kiwis appear on paper.

Teddy bears

You can draw Teddy bears on paper. There are very simple sketches that look quite impressive. You need to start with black and white drawings - they are the simplest. Then they move on to drawing full-color Teddy bears. There are several ways to make drawings.

You can start with the muzzle, then move on to drawing the body and paws, or draw first one half of the bear, then add the second - in the end you get a cute bear cub. When creating an image, you will have to count the squares in each row. It is important to observe the consistent image of each row.

For a simple image, a regular notebook sheet is suitable, for a more complex one, graph paper is needed.

Emoticons

Drawing emoticons is given relatively simply, however, at first you will have to count the cells so as not to make mistakes.

Drawings by cells in a notebook can be drawn in absolutely any subject.

Subsequently, it will be possible to create images on your own, relying only on imagination.

Characters

Depicting your favorite characters is a lot of fun. Good-natured honey lover Winnie the Pooh turns out to be funny, characters from the Gravity Falls cartoon are cool and funny. Having decided what size the drawing will be, you should select the appropriate sheet of paper in a cage. If the image is large, you should start from the edge of the sheet so that it fits completely.

When the technique of drawing by cells is mastered, complex schemes previously made in a notebook will not be needed. Particularly successful images can be placed in a frame.

Preparing a child for school is a long and mandatory process. Therefore, psychologists and pediatricians recommend starting a year before the first grade, in kindergarten or at home. Since the baby needs to be prepared not only for mental and physical stress, but also moral. In general, how to do upbringing, help to become more assiduous, attentive and courageous.

If you can still morally prepare a child for big changes, by means of communication with peers in the yard and kindergarten. Then you can teach the baby to be more attentive, develop writing skills, attentive performance of certain tasks, with the help of graphic dictations and drawing by cells. Today, this incredibly popular activity has won the hearts of not only preschool children, but also teenagers. This is a way to teach a child to write, to develop logic, abstract thinking, perseverance and painstaking, as well as fine motor skills of pens. With the help of this lesson, the child develops coordination, stability and corrects the correctness of his movements, so to speak, “fills a firm hand”, which will undoubtedly help him at school, when writing dictations and notes in a short period of time.

What are graphic dictations? Imagine in front of you a sheet of paper on which the cells are drawn. The task contains arrows (showing the direction) and numbers (showing the number of cells that need to be passed in the specified direction). If you follow the signs accurately and carefully, draw a line in the right direction for the right distance, you get an image - a picture. In other words: graphic dictations are drawing by cells, using pointers in the task.

Such classes are recommended not only for preschool children, in kindergartens, but for children under 12 years of age. After all, mindfulness and coordination of movements can be developed at an older age. A fascinating activity is an entertaining leisure not only for children, but also for adults. The recommended age to start drawing graphic dictations is from 4 years old. It is at this age that the development of fine motor skills begins, with the help of drawing by cells.

Graphic dictations as an educational game are used in various places: at home, in extracurricular activities, on vacation, at sea, in the country, and even at a summer camp. It is important to interest children, and what will do it better than such an activity. Indeed, in the end you get an unknown picture, which you can then paint with pencils or felt-tip pens. Explaining this to the baby, you can not worry about his interest in this, not so much an activity as a game that develops the imagination.

So, let's get started. First of all, you need to prepare, namely, to purchase a collection of graphic dictations. You can get them not only in specialized stores for children's books, but also in a stationery shop, second-hand bookshops. They can be downloaded for free on some sites on the Internet (for example, on our site), you can also go to paid sites. The choice of such tasks is great, choose based on the age, gender and hobbies of the child. For kids who are just starting classes, it is best to choose graphic dictations (drawing by cells) depicting bunnies, cats, dogs. For girls: princesses, flowers. But, you can start with simple geometric shapes: squares, triangles, prisms. So you will immediately teach the child and coordination of movements, improve the motor skills of the handles, develop perseverance and attentiveness, and tell about the names and types of geometric shapes. For boys, dictations with the image of cars, animals, robots, castles, funny little men are suitable. The easiest graphic dictations, with simple shapes and performed in one color, are for beginners. Complicated tasks - for older children. Choose graphic dictations on a topic that is interesting to your child. If the kid is into music, use drawings of musical instruments, treble clefs and notes.

If you have already done cell drawing with your child, start adding variety to your activities. That is, at 5-6 years old, you can perform dictations that help develop even more. That is, get drawings with those animals that the child has not yet seen and does not know what they look like. Use colors that the baby has not yet learned very well. Expand your child's horizons in this way, let him increase and replenish his vocabulary with new words, teach them, find out where they can be applied. The main thing is a good mood, enthusiasm and a positive attitude of the crumbs before performing any task. Under such conditions, study will indeed be incredibly useful, fruitful and not straining the child.

After a selection of graphic dictations, start preparing. Remember that the child must be praised for a job well done. Even if the picture is not yet obtained, there is no need to constantly prompt, direct and compare with other children. You need to guide and push in the right direction. To do this, first of all, you need to teach the child where the left side is, where the right side is. Show me where is the top and where is the bottom. This simple and ingenuous knowledge will help you perform all graphic dictations with 100% accuracy.

Sit near a table with a level and smooth surface so that the child can sit evenly and correctly in the chair. Pay attention to lighting. Tip: if you want to teach your child to a school notebook, give him the opportunity to get used to it, learn to navigate, prepare graphic dictations on a sheet, just like a school notebook. Now prepare a simple pencil and a diligent eraser so that the wrong strips can be easily removed and the same dictation can be continued again. Prepare yourself a pencil and an eraser.

It is worth keeping track of time so that the child does not get tired, so that the hands and eyes rest. Although if the baby is not tired, wants to continue and finish the work now, there is no need to pick up the dictation, the child will decide when enough is enough.

There is a time frame for working with graphic dictations

For children 5 years of age - a maximum of 15 minutes. For older children, up to 6 years - a maximum of 20 minutes (from 15 minutes). For first-graders (6 or 7 years old) - a maximum of 30 minutes, a minimum of 20 minutes.

Drawing by cells is a great way to teach your baby to a pencil and a pen. Teach how to hold it correctly, practice so that the fingers are not so tired of holding the subject at school. This exercise will help you teach your baby to count correctly, as he will need to count the exact number of cells before starting the lesson.

And so: before you lies the task of a graphic dictation, a pencil. In front of the child is a piece of paper in a cage or a notebook, an eraser and a simple pencil. On the sheet of the child, with or without your help, is shown in the indicated place, the starting point. Explain that from this point they start drawing lines (right, left, down and up), in the direction and with the number of cells that you name. Now proceed, near the named task, and they are indicated in a line, put a dot with a pencil so as not to forget where you finished the dictation, not to confuse the child and, of course, yourself. Watch what the child is doing. Tell me if the baby is confused where the left and right sides are. Count together, if necessary, the number of cells.

For example, you have a figure, the most standard is a house. Tell the kid what kind of drawing you will end up with, or keep it a secret for even more interest. From the point you need:

1 → - 1 cell to the right

Dictate clearly, the child should perceive everything by ear. At the end of the work, look at how much the baby's figures coincide with the given elements. If the baby is wrong, find out together exactly where. Erase extra lines with an eraser, starting from the point of failure, and continue drawing. It is important to keep the child in a good mood during the learning process.
