Galaburda Lyubov Ivanovna

Lyubov Ivanovna was born in with. Priuralskoye in 1957. Since childhood, she loved to draw, but the formation of her creative personality took place already at an older age. Since 1989, Lyubov Ivanovna has been a member of the city association of artists and craftsmen of Pechora.

At the exhibitions of applied artists in the museum, L. I. Galaburd's dolls can be immediately distinguished from all others, because each of them is a real work of art. To make such a doll, it takes a lot of time and a variety of materials. The craftswoman works with wood, birch bark, fabric, paper, leather, fur, suede and beads. Dolls are made according to descriptions from ethnographic sources.

Evtyunin Mikhail Viktorovich

Mikhail Viktorovich Evtyunin was born on September 8, 1950 in Nebit-Dag, Turkmen SSR, into the family of a military man.

The officer family often changed garrisons, and Misha went to first grade in the Lithuanian city of Panevezys. He studied in Kedainiai, Siauliai, and graduated from school in Poland in 1968.

His father, a third-generation officer, dreamed of a military career for his son, but life decreed otherwise: Mikhail entered the Riga Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers. During the years of study at the institute (1968-1979), he managed to serve two years in the tank troops and work for a year as a toolmaker at a plant in Ryazan.

As a student of the construction team, Mikhail visited Norilsk and Dudinka. The north attracted with romance, severe beauty, and after the distribution, the young specialist firmly decided to go only to the north. In 1979, Mikhail was accepted as an electrical engineer at the Pechora Aviation Enterprise.

In Pechora in those years, the Arktos tourist club was extremely popular. Tourists made trips to the Ural Mountains and the Carpathians, mastered Karelia, conquered the mountain rivers of the Caucasus and Altai. In memory of each campaign, Michael brought stones: agate, jade, crystal. In 1985, red jasper was added to his collection. Then the idea of ​​stone processing came up. This stone, which has become a work of art, is kept in the collection of Mikhail Viktorovich.

The first artistic products: beads and cabochons. Then earrings, pendants, bracelets, again beads, candlesticks. In his works, the master uses californite, charoite, crystal, jade, rhodochrosite. But the most favorite of the stones is agate. The best works are made from it. Mikhail Viktorovich studied the literature on the technique of stone processing, he designed some of the machines himself.

In the early 90s of the twentieth century, it was decided to organize a workshop for non-core services at the airline and offered to head it to M.V. Evtyunin. Subsequently, the workshop turned into a stone-cutting workshop, Mikhail Viktorovich's hobby became a job. True, I had to engage in creativity in my free time from administrative affairs.

Ivanov Boris Borisovich

Born in the Vladimir region in 1944. Parents brought a three-year-old child to Pechora, since then he has been living and working in this city.

The first lessons in painting were taught to him by repressed artists who were serving their sentences in Pechora. I especially remember A.A. Vasiliev, he was able to see and develop artistic abilities in a nine-year-old boy.

Perhaps that is why Boris Borisovich is engaged in an in-depth study of the history of political repressions on the territory of the Pechora region. He is a member of the Memorial Society. The Pechora Time newspaper published his articles on the history of the Gulag. In the martyrology "Repentance" there is his graphic drawing "Killed, lit a cigarette."

Boris Borisovich is one of the masters involved in metal work, metal forging. In his works, he seeks to recreate the forgotten traditions of finishing woodwork with forged metal. It is difficult to fully engage in the artistic processing of metal, since this requires special workshops and equipment, which are not available in Pechora. The works of Boris Borisovich are jewelry, they are distinguished by impeccable taste, subtlety, complex technique of execution. For example, a candlestick, made based on the mythology of the Komi-Zyryans, consists of 100 elements, each of which had to be brought to perfection. His work is highly professional.

The artist has no free time, he is always busy, so there are no students. “Teaching binds the master by hand, because there will be no time to work for yourself,” B.B. Ivanov. This was the reason for the rejection of the proposal of the department of culture to create and lead a school of masters.

Izyumov Yuri Alexandrovich

“There is beauty, it must be found, created and shown to others”, - this is the creative credo of master Yuri Alexandrovich Izyumov.

Izyumov Yuri Alexandrovich was born on May 30, 1944 in the village of Vodny, Ukhta region. His father, a teacher, a Komsomol activist, was repressed even before the war and imprisoned in the Ukhta camps: he doubted aloud that the pace of building socialism was too fast. His mother soon followed him. And so the family remained in Ukhta places. In 1963, after graduating from high school, Yuri was drafted into the army. He came to Pechora on a Komsomol ticket in 1966. For more than 20 years he worked at ATP UNGG as a truck driver, and then in car repair shops he soldered, tinned, and riveted.

The ability to draw manifested itself in school years. Even then, he surprised with sketches of portraits of famous writers and poets. Since childhood, he loved the tree, its smell, warmth. I once noticed that a workmate was engaged in woodcarving. I wanted to try it myself. He showed him the first simple tricks, presented him with a tool - a piece of a medical scalpel, securely inserted into a homemade wooden handle. Yu. Izyumov began to make his carved crafts with this tool. He learned wisdom from books, comprehended everything on his own. Favorite tree - aspen and birch growth - cap.

Since 1991 Yu.A. Izyumov is a master mentor of the Shondiban arts and crafts studio, opened at the department of culture of the Pechora City Executive Committee. Yuri Alexandrovich strove to pass on his secrets to talented, sympathetic schoolchildren and adults. I wanted to get acquainted with the experience of the capital's wood carvers, visit republican and all-Russian exhibitions, museums of applied art. I visited the workshop of the Syktyvkar sculptor V. Rokhin, at a republican seminar, at an exhibition in Vologda.

It is not known how fate would have disposed of the talent of the master, if there had not been a faithful friend nearby, the persistent wife of Lidia Vladimirovna, who herself took the first works to the museum. The wife helped and supported in difficult times, and advised.

The ability to draw was passed on to her daughter. She gives her paintings to friends in St. Petersburg, parents.

Yuri Alexandrovich loved to create to music. With pleasure I listened to songs performed by I. Talkov, V. Vysotsky, N. Kadysheva. Favorite singer - A. Pugacheva. Interested in historical novels. The Norwegians took two products to their homeland. In the spring of 1993, an invitation came to an exhibition-fair in America, but it was not possible to make this trip. 30 works were exhibited in the ethnographic museum of St. Petersburg. After the exhibition, the master began to receive offers from commercial structures, but Y. Izyumov felt with his soul that putting a wooden carving on stream meant taking the soul out of it. And instead of joy, you get cheap souvenirs from those that neither mind nor heart. The master gave his products only to those whom he respected, gave them into reliable hands. He did not seek to sell them, he even refused to purchase products for the Golden Fund of the Museum of Folk Art.

Krotov Andrey Yurievich

Born in 1956 in the city of Baku, in a military family. Due to the nature of the father's service, the family often moved from place to place, having traveled all over the North Caucasus.

In 1977, Andrei, choosing a military career, graduated from the Stavropol Higher Military School. From 1977 to 1993 he served in military aviation as a navigator in combat control. In 1989 A. Krotov arrived in Pechora.

Andrei's passion for minerals began with a meeting with Mikhail Evtyunin, around whom a team of guys who were passionate about stone processing gathered. The stone, according to Andrey, attracts him, fascinates him with unique colors, drawings and the play of light.

With the joint efforts of enthusiastic stone cutters, a workshop was equipped in the basement. It housed equipment, partly purchased, but mostly made by hand. Minerals are also stored here, for which craftsmen sometimes go to the mountains. These are rock crystal, jasper, amazonite, agate, quartz and others.

Andrei Yuryevich is known in the city as a master of stone jewelry: necklaces, earrings, brooches, bracelets and pendants. Jewelry made by him is in demand among many representatives of the "weaker sex". The master's products aroused great interest at exhibitions in the city of Inta, in the museum of geology in Syktyvkar. Several times his works were exhibited in the VDNKh pavilion at the Gemma colored stone fair.

In addition to jewelry, Andrey Yuryevich carves candlesticks, figurines and other items from stone. Once he made a custom-made prize for the Russian championship in cross-country skiing.

"Originality and quality" - this is the motto that A.Yu. Krotov is a recognized Pechora master in the processing and manufacture of jewelry and decorative items from stone.

Morozov Vladimir Nikolaevich

Born in the northern Russian city of Kargopol, Arkhangelsk region in 1927 in the family of an employee. My father worked as an accountant, my mother was a housewife.

In 1932, my father went to Syktyvkar to organize a society for the deaf and dumb. The whole family moved to Syktyvkar after the father: his wife and three children. Vladimir Nikolaevich lived in Syktyvkar until 1944. They lived hard in the basement. In the spring, the apartment was flooded knee-deep with water. Mother was forced to go to work: during the day she worked in the police, in the evenings she taught in the educational program, and at night she stood in lines for bread. From labor and illness, the mother passed away early.

Vladimir graduated from the FZO school in Syktyvkar as a boat mechanic, worked as an assistant foreman, and in 1942 became a foreman.

In 1944, he volunteered for the front, but did not have to fight. He was sent to study at the School of Junior Commanders at the Obozerskaya station in the Arkhangelsk region, where he fell ill and was demobilized in 1946. In the same year, he leaves for Kherson to be treated and work. After Kherson, fate threw in Stalino, in Dneprodzerzhinsk. In Stalino, he mastered the specialty of a modeler.

Vladimir Nikolayevich lived in the southern regions of the country for more than ten years, in 1957 he came to his sister in Kozhva. I didn’t know or heard anything about the new city of Pechora before that. At that time, the construction of the House of Culture of Rivermen (DKR) was underway in Pechora. Having learned that Vladimir Nikolaevich was a modeller, he was hired as an instructor. They gave students six people, whom he taught their stucco craftsmanship. They built DKR and studied at the same time.

After the DKR, stucco work was carried out in the cinema. M. Gorky. Here in the cinema there are also two of his author's sculptural works - "Miner" and "Hunter".

I had to decorate simple residential buildings with stucco work (for example, two houses on Gorky Square): cornices, sockets. In 1962-1963 modeling was stopped in the houses.

A team of sculptors led by V.N. Morozov was popular in the Komi Republic: they went to work on the construction of the House of Culture in Vorkuta, the railway station in Syktyvkar.

While working in Pechorstroy, he graduated from the Volkhov Construction College with honors in absentia, and became a foreman at a reinforced concrete products plant. At the plant, a lot of design work was done by his hands: a concrete bas-relief of Lenin, the Board of Honor of Pechorstroy, wall ornaments, panels. I also had to paint picturesque portraits for the Hall of Fame. Especially a lot of work was before the holidays - designed posters.

Orders were also received for other design work. They designed the hostel on Byzovaya.

Since 1983 V.N. Morozov retired. Started cutting wood. I especially like working with cap. He is interested in working with different materials. In his collection there are many vases made of openwork metal, a wine horn, various caskets.

Osipova (Ogorodnikova) Oksana Valentinovna

Pechora craftswomen mother and daughter Ogorodnikovs are known not only in the Komi Republic, but also abroad. They are connected not only by family ties, but also by creative ones. Galina Yakovlevna Ogorodnikova was born in 1947 in the village of Soski, Kirov Region. Father Yakov Ivanovich Saadakov worked all his life at the Selmash plant. He was a carpenter, carpenter, and furniture maker. Mom Nina Mitrofanovna - the station attendant - skillfully crocheted. Grandmother Maria Efimovna had a great influence on Galina Yakovlevna, who knew how to weave, spin, knit, sew, embroider.

Galina Yakovlevna came to Pechora with her husband in 1963. She sewed and knitted all the time for her children.

In the mid-80s, many Pechora women became interested in weaving using the macrame technique, Galina Yakovlevna achieved perfection in this type of applied art. The first work is "Poodle". At first she copied products from magazines, calendars, and then began to create her own, author's works. In 1991, she released her photo album "Macrame", her products were used in the design of preschool institutions in the city "Korablik", "Yolochka". Narrative panels made by Galina Yakovlevna create a unique image of the interior of kindergartens.

Since 1984, Galina Yakovlevna has been a member of the city association of artists, artistic and expert council, in 1985 she headed the association of artists. In 1988 she participated in the festival of folk art in Syktyvkar.

Galina Yakovlevna, a master applier, owns many types of creativity: weaving in the technique of macrame, tatting, knitting, crocheting, woodcarving.

Galina Yakovlevna considers master Yu.A. Izyumov, who managed to pass on his secrets to a student. She does not shun either rough "preparatory" work or the search for material. Works with birch, aspen. In the late 80s she worked in the cooperative "Elegant". In 1990 she led a macrame circle, in 1991-1992 she taught at the Shondiban studio.

The daughter, Oksana Valentinovna Osipova, followed in the footsteps of her mother. Born in 1969 in Pechora. From childhood, parents noticed the girl's ability to draw. For several years, Oksana studied at the fine art studio of the House of Pioneers under the guidance of A. Akishin.

She entered vocational school No. 22 in Syktyvkar with a degree in artistic painting. In 1989 she graduated from college. Oksana's graduation work: original jewelry, which successfully combines painting on wood and macrame. It was a joint product of mother and daughter.

Thus, a creative union was born. Later they created a lot of bright works, one of which is the fabulous barrel "The Tale of the North". Outwardly, it looks like an old stump with intertwined roots and is divided into four plot pictures from the life of the ancient Komi (decorated using the macrame technique).

Oksana Valentinovna worked in the cooperative "Elegant", in the private enterprise "Souvenir", the folk studio "Shondiban". Her skill as a teacher manifested itself while working in a training and production plant, where she taught a course in artistic painting on wood. Owns twelve types of painting (Khokhloma, Gorodets, Polkhov-Maidanovskaya, Vyatka, Severodvinsk, Ural-Siberian, etc.). Studying the literature on applied arts, Oksana recreated the Pechora painting, and Galina Yakovlevna developed a plot based on the Pechora painting for knitting.

The main theme of Oksana's work is family, home, children. In this regard, her plot panels “Early Morning”, “Berry Time” are interesting, depicting the life of the Izhma Komi.

Actively worked in the city association of applied artists. In 1997 - 1998, Oksana, an employee of the Pechora Museum of Local History, organizes traveling exhibitions from the funds. Since 1999 he has been living in the village of Chernorechenskoye, Knyazhpogostsky district. Works at a high school. Oksana Valentinovna has been a member of the Union of Masters of the Komi Republic since 1998.

The craftswomen Ogorodnikovs took part in all city exhibitions of the local history museum, traveled with their works to national talent reviews. The visiting card of the Ogorodnikovs was the “Krin” pendant, which they gladly give to people as a good memory. Their works as Pechora souvenirs were taken to many cities of Russia, as well as to foreign countries: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Italy.

Kharuzin Yury Fedorovich

Born in 1953 in the city of Kovrov, Vladimir Region. My father was connected with the forest all his life: he worked in forestry, carpentry. They knew and loved the forest: they helped their father at work. The mother took care of the household and the children.

In the 90s, schools in the Komi Republic began to pay great attention to the revival of the traditions of the Komi people and Yu.F. Kharuzin was offered to try to work with birch bark, to teach this skill to schoolchildren. Since that time, Yuri Fedorovich began to independently study the literature on decorative and applied art of the Komi, completed courses in teaching applied art in Syktyvkar. The desire to master applied art to perfection and pass on his knowledge and skills to children made Yuri Fedorovich learn from the honored masters of applied art of Komi M. Kochev and S. Overin. They showed not only how to work with birch bark and wood, but also what tool to use, how to make this tool yourself.

Yurkevich Galina Pavlovna

Galina Pavlovna was born in 1950 in the village of Nyashabozh, Izhma district. After school, she chose the profession of a teacher. She graduated from the Komi department of preschool education at the Pedagogical College in Syktyvkar. Then for 20 years she worked as a teacher in kindergartens in Vuktyl and Pechora. Since the beginning of the 90s, Galina Pavlovna has been teaching at boarding school No. 8. She works as an ethnopedagogue, teaches Komi children how to speak, introduces them to folk toys, costumes, and folklore.

Under her leadership, thematic holidays are held, puppet shows are staged based on the mythology of the Komi people. Decorative and applied art G.P. Yurkevich has been studying since 1984. She became interested in sewing from scraps: belts, rugs, Komi toys. In 1993, she was so captivated by this occupation that making dolls becomes both her hobby and work. The doll is always with her: both at home and on the road. In the school puppet theater, Galina Pavlovna, together with her children, is studying the history of Komi puppets according to legends and fairy tales.

The work of master Yurkevich G.P.

In 1994, G. P. Yurkevich received a passport-certificate for the right to make dolls in Komi national clothes and sell them. She is a member of the Union of Masters of the Komi Republic. Every year her works participate in the exhibition "Master of the Year" in Syktyvkar.

Decorative and applied art is an extensive section of art, covering various areas of artistic activity and focused on the creation of utilitarian items. The aesthetic level of such works, as a rule, is quite high. The collective term combines two types of art - applied and decorative. The first has signs of practical application, the second is designed to decorate the human environment.

Creativity and utility

Applied art - what is it? First of all, these are objects whose characteristics are close to the artistic style, and their purpose is quite diverse. Vases, jugs, dishes or sets made of fine porcelain, as well as many other items decorate living rooms, kitchen sets, bedrooms and children's rooms. Some items may be works of genuine art and yet belong to the category of applied art.

Wide scope of activities

Applied art - what is it from the point of view of the master? A labor-intensive creative process or a simple craft made from improvised materials? a work of art that deserves the highest praise. The utilitarian purpose of the product does not detract from its merits. Decorative and applied art is a wide field of activity for artists and sculptors, designers and stylists. Exclusive works of art created in a single copy are especially appreciated. At the same time, mass-produced products are classified as souvenirs.

Decorations in the house

Decorative and applied art - what is it, if we consider it as part of the aesthetic filling of the domestic environment? It is safe to say that all products and objects located around reflect the tastes of people who are in close proximity to them, as a person tries to surround himself with beautiful things. Decorative and applied art makes it possible to decorate housing, office space, recreation area. Particular attention is paid to the design of rooms for children.

And, finally, applied art - what is it in the understanding of the public? These are exhibitions, vernissages, fairs and many other public events that introduce people to culture. Fine arts and crafts increases the level of human development, contributes to the formation of his aesthetic taste. In addition, visiting the expositions broadens the general horizons. Each exhibition of applied art is an acquaintance of the general public with new achievements in the field of artistic creativity. Such events are of particular importance in the education of the younger generation.

A bit of history

Folk arts and crafts originates in Russian villages. Simple crafts by homegrown craftsmen are often classified as products in the category of "folk arts and crafts". A good example of the folklore style is the so-called - painted cockerels, figurines, red clay ornaments.

The fishery is rooted in the past, it is more than four hundred years old. Ancient applied art appeared thanks to the national holiday "Whistle", when the entire female population sculpted clay whistles for this day in the form of chickens, lambs, horses. The party went on for two days.

Over time, the holiday lost its significance, and folk arts and crafts continued to develop. Currently, Dymkovo art products are being replicated in the Vyatka Toy production association. Products are traditionally covered with whitewash and painted with bright, rich colors.

Products of folk art in their original form, as a rule, become the basis for fairy-tale characters invented by the inhabitants of Russian villages, are displayed in the famous Palekh caskets, Zhostovo trays, and Khokhloma wooden products. The applied art of Russia is diverse, each direction is interesting in its own way, the products of Russian masters are in high demand among foreign collectors.

"Demand gives rise to supply" - this wording perfectly reflects the state of affairs in the field of folk art crafts in Russia. For example, art products in the Gzhel style have been popular all over the world for several centuries. The famous white and blue vases, plates, and tea bowls are desirable in every home, and especially valuable specimens are the pride of collectors. It is still unclear what applied art is - work, craft or artistic creativity. In fact, each product requires some effort to create it, and at the same time it is necessary to give the image an artistic value.

Applied art in the children's room

In certain cases, the subject of artistic creativity can be addressed to the younger generation. Of particular value are products made by children's hands. The spontaneity inherent in boys and girls of preschool age, naive fantasy mixed with the desire to express their innermost feelings give rise to real masterpieces. Children's arts and crafts, represented by drawings, plasticine figurines, cardboard little men, are the most real artistic creativity. Today, competitions are held throughout Russia, in which small "artists" and "sculptors" participate.

Modern Russian applied art

Photographs, daggerotypes, etchings, engravings, prints, as well as many other examples, are also artistic creations. Products can be very different. At the same time, they are all united by belonging to social and cultural life under the common name - decorative and applied art. Works in this area are distinguished by a special folklore style. It is not for nothing that all art crafts originated in the Russian hinterland, in villages and villages. There is a homegrown unpretentiousness and a complete absence of that pretentiousness that is sometimes found in works of fine art in the products. At the same time, the artistic level of folk art is quite high.

In Russia, arts and crafts is part of the economic power of the country. Below is a list of the main areas of folk art crafts that have received worldwide recognition and are exported in industrial volumes.

  2. Zhostovo art painting on metal, Limoges enamel, enamel.
  3. Khokhloma, Gorodets, Mezen art painting on wood.

Palekh

Palekh folk art craft appeared in Russian open spaces at the beginning of the 20th century. The art of lacquer drawing originated in a small village in the Ivanovo province called Palekh. The craft was a continuation of the icon-painting art, which is rooted in pre-Petrine times. Later, the masters of Palekh participated in the painting of the Moscow Kremlin, the Novodevichy Convent, the cathedrals of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.

The revolution of 1917 abolished icon painting, the artists were left without work. In 1918, the craftsmen created a Palekh art artel, in which wooden handicrafts were painted. Then the craftsmen learned how to create papier-mâché boxes and paint them in miniature style using traditional icon-painting techniques.

In 1923, lacquer miniatures were presented at the All-Russian Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition, where they received a diploma of the 2nd degree. And two years later, the Palekh caskets were exhibited in Paris, at the World Exhibition.

The success of unusual art products became an incentive for the creation of the organizations "Union of Palekh Artists" and "Palekh Art Workshops" under the Art Fund of the USSR.

Fedoskino

This word is associated with Russian lacquer painting with the use of craft appeared in the village of Fedoskino near Moscow in the second half of the 18th century. The drawing was applied to papier-mâché products and then varnished in several layers.

The beginning of the art of the Fedoskino miniature was laid by the Russian merchant P. I. Korobov, who visited the German city of Braunschweig and adopted technologies for creating snuff boxes, beads, caskets and other items decorated with picturesque pictures there.

The Fedoskino lacquer miniature is painted with oil paints in four stages: first, a sketch of the drawing is made (“painting”), then a detailed study (“repainting”), glazing - coating with transparent paints, the last process - glare, which conveys highlights and shadows in the image.

The Fedoskino drawing technique involves the use of a tint layer of reflective components: metal powder or gold leaf. In some cases, the master can make a mother-of-pearl lining. Transparent glazing paints together with the lining create a unique deep glow effect. The ink layer is underlined by a black background.

Mstera

This was the name of the Russian folk craft, which appeared in the middle of the 18th century in the Vladimir province. It all started with "petty letters" - miniature icons with the smallest details. After the revolution of 1917, when there was no need for icon painting, mstyora switched to caskets and boxes made of papier-mâché. The drawing was applied mixed on egg yolks. By the middle of the 20th century, the technologies of the lacquer miniature of the mstyora were finally formed.

The basic principles of drawing a picture are to transfer the general contours from tracing paper to the surface of the product, then "opening" follows, drawing the picture itself. The next step is detailed painting. And finally "melt" - the final coloring with glare, which includes created gold (the smallest gold powder). The finished product is covered with transparent varnish in six layers with intermediate drying, then polished.

The characteristic features of Mstyora painting are carpet decorativeness, a sophisticated play of shades and three color schemes used in coloring: yellow ocher, red and silver-blue. The theme of the drawing is classical: fairy tales, historical monuments, architecture.

Zhostovo

The folk craft of Zhostovo is metal trays painted in a special style. Zhostovo art was born at the beginning of the 19th century, in the villages of the Trinity volost, in the Moscow region. Residents of three villages (Ostashkovo, Zhostovo and Khlebnikovo) started making papier-mâché painted items. And in the workshop of the Vishnyakov brothers, they began to make trays from tin with a colorful pattern.

The Vishnyakovs' price list included two dozen different items made of metal and papier-mâché, all of them painted, colorfully designed and in high demand at fairs, while the painted tray was always in the forefront.

Zhostovo painting is a floral theme in several versions: a garden bouquet, random flowers, a garland, a wicker wreath. Field plants constituted a separate composition.

Bouquets on a tray look natural due to the careful study of small details. In this case, the color palette is used as saturated as possible. The background, as a rule, is black, the edges of the tray are decorated with openwork ornaments, vegetative or stylized as a wood structure. The Zhostovo tray is always hand-painted and is an exclusive work of art.

Khokhloma

This name was given to Russian folk craft, dating back to the beginning of the 17th century. Khokhloma painting is the most complex and expensive of all currently existing techniques. Artistic applied art is a long creative process associated with wood processing, multi-layer priming and painting with oil paints.

The process of making Khokhloma products begins with blanks. First, the craftsmen, that is, chop wooden blocks with an ax. Then the workpieces are processed on machines to the desired size and shape. The processed blanks are called "linen". After grinding, they are coated with special liquid clay and dried. Then the already primed workpieces are covered with several layers of linseed oil with intermediate drying. This is followed by tinning, or rubbing aluminum powder into the surface, after which the product becomes a white-mirror color. At this stage, it is already ready for painting.

The main colors of Khokhloma are black and red (soot and cinnabar), auxiliary colors are gold, brown, light green and yellow. In this case, very thin brushes are used (made exclusively from squirrel tails), since strokes are applied with a barely noticeable touch.

The thematic content of the picture is rowan berries, viburnum, strawberries, small foliage, thin, slightly curved green stems. Everything is drawn with bright, intense colors, the contours are clearly marked. The image is built on the principle of contrast.

Gzhel

This is the most popular folk craft, a traditional Russian center for the production of artistic ceramics. It occupies a vast region, consisting of 27 villages, under the general name Gzhel Bush, 60 kilometers from Moscow.

From time immemorial, Gzhel places have been famous for deposits of high-grade clay suitable for apothecary vessels. In 1770, the Gzhel volost lands were assigned to the Pharmaceutical Order. At the same time, in the Gzhel villages, they launched the production of bricks, pottery pipes, stove tiles and children's toys for Moscow.

Dishes made of Gzhel clay were especially good, light and durable. At the beginning of the 19th century, there were 25 factories for the production of tableware in the parish. The proximity of Moscow stimulated the development of the production of clay products; a myriad of bowls, plates, dishes and other kitchen utensils were sold at the capital's fairs.

Gzhel toys at that time were made from waste utensils. No matter how much clay was left, all of it was used to model cockerels, hens, lambs and goats. Initially, handicraft workshops worked chaotically, but soon a certain line in production was outlined. Raw materials began to be harvested specifically for souvenirs, craftsmen also specialized in the profile of the most sought-after products.

White shiny horses and figurines were painted in different colors until cobalt, a universal paint, appeared. The intense bright blue color is the best match with the snow-white enamel of the workpiece. In the 50s of the last century, artists completely abandoned all other colors and began to use glazed blue cobalt coloring. At the same time, the motives of the drawing could be very different, on any topic.

Creative heritage of the master of arts and crafts.

The funds of the East Kazakhstan Regional Architectural-Ethnographic and Natural-Landscape Museum-Reserve contain a wonderful collection of works by Mameeva Margarita Stepanovna () - a talented Ust-Kamenogorsk artist and teacher, a master of arts and crafts. She would have turned 80 this year. She showed her artistic talent and professional knowledge in the most feminine types of arts and crafts: embroidery, appliqué, sewing and knitting. was one of the few craftswomen in East Kazakhstan who perfectly mastered such a complex and painstaking embroidery technique as artistic smoothness. The high professionalism and artistry of her works raised the embroidery technique to a new level, revealed its wide possibilities and aroused genuine interest among art lovers. With her work, the craftswoman proved that such a chamber type of decorative and applied art as embroidery can go far beyond the limits of “home needlework” and take its rightful place next to real works of art.

Margarita Stepanovna Mameeva was born in 1933 in the village of Durnitsyno, Romanovsky District, Saratov Region. After World War II, she moved with her family to the city of Semipalatinsk, where she graduated from high school. Ability and love for the fine arts determined the choice of her future profession, she went to study at the Republican Art School. in Tashkent, to the art and theater department. After graduating from college in 1957, Mameeva worked for some time as an artist in the Uzbek Music and Drama Theater named after. Akhunbabaev in Andijan. Then for several years she taught manual labor and drawing at the Andijan State Pedagogical Institute.

In the mid-1960s, Margarita Stepanovna came to Ust-Kamenogorsk, where she lived until the end of her life. In our city, she first worked as an artist at enterprises and institutions, then she devoted herself entirely to teaching, working in various secondary specialized educational institutions: in pedagogical, musical and cultural educational schools. She taught such academic disciplines as labor training (appliqué, embroidery, knitting, etc.), fine arts, SNAP (means of visual agitation and propaganda). According to the recollections of her students, Margarita Stepanovna was a sensitive, attentive and at the same time demanding teacher, boundlessly devoted to her profession.

In parallel with her teaching activities, Mameeva was actively engaged in creativity. She created her own style in satin stitch embroidery, based on a realistic image and the transfer of the finest color nuances. These features make her embroidery akin to paintings. In the specialized literature, the technique that underlies the work of Margarita Mameeva is referred to as “free surface”, while the craftswoman herself called it nothing more than “artistic”. Using the traditional embroidery technique, she modernized its technical and artistic techniques, bringing embroidery as close as possible to painting. In this kind of creativity, Mameeva most fully showed her natural gift as a draftsman and colorist.

In addition to the satin stitch technique, the craftswoman was well versed in other different types of embroidery, and she also loved to work in the appliqué technique. Her appliqué works made of fabric are often made in combination with embroidery or using a variety of connecting and finishing seams. These are both utilitarian items - handbags, pillowcases, decorative napkins, and purely aesthetic items - decorative panels, as a rule, with a plot composition.

Skills and love for needlework were instilled in Mameeva at an early age. Her mother Alexandra Fedorovna sewed and embroidered beautifully, crocheted magnificent napkins and tablecloths. In addition, the childhood and youth of the future craftswoman were closely connected with the fashion trends of that time. In the middle XX th century, the art of embroidery in our country is experiencing a high rise, it is becoming a mass hobby for most women, needlework was equally fond of both little girls and their mothers and grandmothers. One of the best gifts was considered to be a handmade item - an embroidered or appliqued tablecloth, pillowcase or just a napkin. These cute, charming products decorated the interior, creating coziness and a warm, joyful atmosphere in the house.

Most of the works Margarita Stepanovna Mameeva completed in a later period of time - from 1985 to 1995, when the mass passion for embroidery and appliqué was no longer as popular as in the 50s and 60s. Mameyeva began to cooperate with the East Kazakhstan Regional Ethnographic Museum in 1987, taking an active part in various museum events: annual exhibitions of arts and crafts, fairs (“City of Masters”). Her works were exhibited in different cities: Almaty, Novosibirsk, Leningrad, Moscow. It should be noted that Margarita Stepanovna was greatly assisted in her work by her husband, who helped her in finding plots, drawings and patterns, and also engaged in the design of finished works, making frames for them on his own.

The acquisition of the craftswoman's works for the museum's funds began in 1991, when the decorative panel "Cranes" was purchased in the technique of satin stitch embroidery. Then the receipt of exhibits was carried out in small batches in 1992, 1993, 1999. and the last collection was purchased from Yury Ivanovich Mameev in 2007, 10 years after the death of his wife. As a result, a complete and complete collection of works by the craftswoman was formed, quite diverse in terms of techniques, styles and genres of image, numbering 29 items. Based on the collection of works we have, we can characterize her work as a whole and each work separately, identify their artistic and technical features, and explore the history of the creation of a particular composition.

A unique exhibit is a napkin in the technique of satin stitch embroidery, made by Mameeva in 1942, when she was only 9 years old. The product is made a little timidly, but with great care and diligence. The embroidery pattern - a basket with a bouquet of wild flowers - is quite complex, distinguished by elegance and a variety of small details. Color combinations of threads are chosen competently and tastefully. Already in this early work, the outstanding creative abilities of the future craftswoman appeared. It is noteworthy that in her mature works the same childishly joyful and enthusiastic sense of the beauty of the world around will be preserved.

The theme of wildlife is a favorite in the work of the craftswoman, who has chosen the animalistic genre as a priority. In the majority of embroidered compositions, we find a poetic pictorial depiction of animals and birds against the backdrop of nature. Mameeva always approached the choice of compositions for her works very responsibly and seriously, she chose the works of the best animal artists who worked in a realistic direction. Using reproductions of paintings and drawings, as well as photographs of famous masters, she created beautiful copies of them, which differed from the original only in technique and size.

To accurately reproduce the drawing, Margarita Stepanovna used a scale grid to enlarge a small illustration to the size she needed, after which the drawing was transferred to the fabric. Thanks to her innate sense of color, professional knowledge and experience, the craftswoman was able to perfectly convey the colors of the copied works, using the technique of artistic smoothness and a wide variety of shades of thread.

The composition "Dogs on the counter" was made in 1987 from a reproduction of a watercolor work by the famous Soviet graphic artist Valentin Ivanovich Kurdov. He illustrated children's books about nature by such writers as W. Bianchi, R. Kipling, W. Scott. “The artist draws energetically, intensely. His animals are alert, ready to jump, fight. Idealization, beautiful writing has no place here,” the publication on creativity says. Indeed, the composition is distinguished by extreme dynamism and intensity of the hunting scene. These features are conveyed not only in the swift running of the dogs, but also in some details of the landscape: grass creeping along the ground under a strong gust of wind, alarming flashes of dawn.

The embroidery of the composition "Dogs on the rack" is made with the artistry and ease inherent in a mature master. The free surface covers the entire plane of the fabric base, creating the impression of a picturesque glazing canvas. The color combination of the threads perfectly conveys the color of the original, built on halftones and nuances. The use of certain artistic techniques, such as wide, sweeping stitches superimposed in different, sometimes intersecting directions, contrasting color spots enhance the feeling of dynamism and anxiety, create an exciting, expressive mood.

It should be noted that the composition was in great demand among art lovers, so Mameeva made several copies of it, one of which was acquired by the museum-reserve in 1993. This panel, which differs from the first one only in its reduced size and design, has been decorating the stationary exposition of arts and crafts in the exhibition hall of the museum for many years. After 14 years, the original composition also ended up in museum funds as part of a diverse collection purchased from in 2007.

Mameeva embroidered one of her best works, the plot composition "Moose" from a reproduction of the painting of the same name by a Russian artist, published in the magazine "Artist", No. 3, 1977. live on canvas, so their being is poeticized, passed by the artist through his heart ... ". The picture, stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, captivates with some special tranquility, grandeur and wisdom of nature. Animals and the world around them are in inseparable unity and harmony.

Landscape and animal painter Alexei Stepanovich Stepanov, who lived in the second half of XIX - first half XX centuries, was an outstanding painter who possessed a rare directorial tact, with which he magically used, as it were, random splashes of dull pink, lemon, deep black in the noblest range of ash-gray tones. She tried to accurately convey the same exquisite color scheme, having managed to choose the necessary tones and combinations of threads. Despite the richness of color nuances, she managed to maintain coloristic unity and integrity in the composition, corresponding to the general mood of the work.

A whole series of works in the technique of embroidery is dedicated to the beautiful and mysterious world of birds. These are, as a rule, small in size, chamber compositions, resembling rather cursory sketches rather than finished works. The ease of execution and some understatement in them are not accidental, these features correspond to the restless nature of the characters depicted, their elusiveness, quick reaction and even habitat. The feeling of air space, sky and height is present in almost every work. Even the shape of most compositions is intentionally or intuitively chosen as a circle or oval. At the same time, Mameeva, with her inherent accuracy and accuracy of an ornithologist, conveys the smallest details of the appearance and character of a particular bird species: size, shape, plumage color, movements and habits. Even the landscape or its details in the compositions reliably correspond to the habitat of certain birds. One more characteristic feature of this series should be noted: almost everywhere we find an image of a pair of birds - a male and a female, who sit side by side on a branch, swim or stand in the water. This is confirmed by the titles of the works: "Bullfinches", "Orioles", "Goldfinches", "Pelicans", "Cranes".

The magnificent composition "Flamingo" stands apart in a series of "bird" works. Unlike all other images of birds, this work is quite large and is a complete "painting" work, filled with a special lyrical mood, sunlight and many color shades. This panel marked the beginning of a series of embroideries dedicated to birds. It was made earlier than others, in 1991 from a photograph by G. Smirnov, published in one of the magazines.

The most recent decorative panels in the technique of embroidery include the landscape “On dzhailau” and “Portrait of Abai”, made in 1995 and timed to coincide with the anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and enlightener. These works were exhibited in Semipalatinsk at traveling exhibitions of decorative and applied art dedicated to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Abay Kunanbaev and the 100th anniversary of Mukhtar Auezov. It should be noted that these two works are an exception in the genre of Mameeva's embroidered works, as they are the only ones made in the "pure" genre: landscape and portrait. In most of her embroideries, we find a fusion of genres, usually landscape with animalistic.

There are few decorative embroideries for utilitarian purposes in creativity. Among them, a set of napkins "Autumn motives" and a wonderful decorative tablecloth deserve special attention. These products are characterized by a single style of execution, which manifests itself in the plastic forms of the composition, the elegant pattern of currant branches and bright festive coloring based on the contrasting combination of green and red flowers.

Works in the application technique make up only a third of the entire collection of Mameeva, among them are two panels, the rest are practical works - decorative bags and pillowcases. Margarita Stepanovna's applications are made with her characteristic high professionalism, they are united by a number of characteristic features that are manifested both in the means of the pictorial language and in technical techniques. All works are distinguished by their laconic composition, stylized pattern and ornamentation, thoughtfulness in the selection of color combinations of fabrics. The subtle artistic taste of the craftswoman is manifested in everything - from the general idea of ​​​​the product to the sophistication of the smallest details and finishes. Mameeva has always used hand and machine seams to secure the appliqué forms to the background or the main material. In addition, many products are decorated with various finishing seams, and in plot compositions, the appliqué is harmoniously complemented by embroidery.

Decorative panels "Tea Party" and "Matchmaker" were made at about the same time - in 1986 and 1987. The compositions of these works were also found by the craftswoman in literature, in one of the most popular women's magazines at that time - "Soviet Woman". Thus, a reproduction of the panel "Matchmaker" was published on the 4th cover page of magazine No. 2 for 1986. These compositions are similar in many respects, they are united by the theme of peasant life and Russian hospitality. The plots in them are simple and unpretentious, in “Tea Party” there are gatherings at the samovar of two grandmothers-girlfriends, in “The Matchmaker” there is a matchmaking scene with plentiful refreshments. In the use of means of artistic expression, a connection with folk art can be traced: the style and shape of the image resemble a splint, and multi-colored and colorful pieces of fabric, fixed with hand stitches, are patchwork. Unlike lyrical embroidery compositions, appliqué panels are filled with good-natured humor and mischief, and are populated with bright colorful images.

Of great interest are a series of decorative bags and pillowcases with a stylized Kazakh ornament. Thanks to the professional, creative approach of the author, these products, while retaining ethnographic features, have acquired a new sound. They look stylish and modern, practical in everyday life, perfectly decorate the interior of the house. The simplicity and conciseness of the forms, the sophistication of the finish, the restraint of the tastefully selected color, consisting of only two or three colors of fabric, and, of course, the highest craftsmanship and workmanship are attractive. They are made mainly from green and red drape, which are most often found in Kazakh arts and crafts, either twill or cotton fabric is used for ornament and decoration. Both in handbags and in pillowcases, only two types of ornaments are used, but in different compositional variations.

The creative heritage of Margarita Stepanovna Mameeva is rich and varied. Being a professional artist and fluent in various embroidery, appliqué, knitting and sewing techniques, she created real works of art from a small unpretentious napkin to a complex plot composition. Mameeva changed the idea of ​​embroidery as a kind of only domestic female needlework, revealed its wide possibilities in her genre works, which can be safely put on a par with the best paintings. Her works were distinguished not only by high professionalism, impeccable technique of execution, each product is warmed by love and the author's kind attitude towards the world around her: nature, people, animals and plants. The certificate and sign "People's Master of the Belgorod Region" were awarded to 13 masters of arts and crafts who received the honorary title for the first time, and 19 who confirmed this title in 2012. March 13 in the Belgorod State Center of Folk Art was crowded. In the exhibition hall, where the best works of folk craftsmen were exhibited, the guests carefully studied the talented works of folk craftsmen - patchwork panels, wooden products, metal-painted trays, beadwork, clay and textile toys, ancient towels embroidered with a cross, etc. And folk craftsmen, as if before the presentation of an international award, anxiously awaited the award ceremony and gave interviews to the local press. A few minutes later, on the stage, where buffoons and spoons of the Vezelinka instrumental group created a Russian folk mood for the audience, the folk craftsmen were awarded by the Deputy Head of the Department of Internal and Personnel Policy of the Region - Head of the Department of Culture of the Region Sergey Ivanovich Kurgansky, handed them certificates, badges and monetary incentives .

Lydia Darenskaya, a master of arts and crafts in embroidery from the city of Shebekino, has been going for the title of "People's Master of the Belgorod Region" for 17 years. “I am a musician by profession, and needlework is my hobby,” says the craftswoman. Lidiya Vasilievna embroiders with a cross and satin stitch, makes a soft toy, an appliqué out of fabric. The craftswoman brought nine embroidered towels to the exhibition - almost all the canvases on which she worked for several years: Russian, Ukrainian towels, dezhniks. “It is very difficult to embroider a towel,” the needlewoman shares. - This craft is very rare and almost forgotten for our time. A few years ago, in my area, I met the folklore collector Galina Grezneva and found in her my mentor in creativity. She taught me the folk art of embroidering towels.” The choice of ornament for products was suggested to her by a wise countrywoman. “Choosing ornaments, patterns, drawings for a towel, the master always wants to convey something, to wish people. The embroidered flowers symbolize happiness, the crown - the sun, the oak leaves - life, greatness, ”Lydia Vasilievna shows us the wedding towel.

Tatyana Fesina from the city of Grayvorona, a former tower crane operator, owns a very rare craft at the present time. Tatyana Nikolaevna weaves belts on a reed, on hooks or planks, woven on fingers and a needle, “in a bottle”, in an abusive way or on a bastard. The craftswoman achieves a huge variety in decorating belts, successfully selects the colors of threads and patterns for belts and weaves them for the folk groups of the Grayvoron region.

Weaving a pattern on a loom is a very difficult task, requiring, first of all, the presence of a tool and a place to place it. “To pull the threads back, I use special planks - picks. That is why this weaving is called so - “branoe”, - Tatyana Nikolaevna tells us about the features of the old craft. - Belts used to be woven as a dowry for the bride. And since ancient times, belts have been an indispensable element of men's and women's costumes. Without a belt, as well as without a cross, it was impossible to walk around the village.

… Today in the region already 75 masters have an honorary title. Folk craftsmen are forever inscribed in the history of the Belgorod region, they are doing a good deed - they are reviving and preserving the traditional folk culture of the region.

Recall that the title "People's Master of the Belgorod Region" was established in 2008 by the Government of the Belgorod Region. Today there are more than 2,000 craftsmen in the region, most of whom are amateurs.

People's Master of the Belgorod Region

On March 13, a solemn ceremony of presenting certificates of the title "People's Master of the Belgorod Region" took place at the Belgorod State Center for Folk Art. This year, this honorary title was awarded to 13 masters of the Belgorod region. Among the awarded - the master of the Novooskolsky House of Crafts Rybakova Yana Vladimirovna.

Certificates, badges and cash prizes were presented to masters of arts and crafts by Sergey Ivanovich Kurgansky, Deputy Head of the Department of Internal and Personnel Policy - Head of the Department of Culture of the Belgorod Region.

The awards ceremony was preceded by an exhibition of works by the nominee masters, deployed in the exhibition hall of the BSCNT. Beautiful works made in various techniques aroused the sincere admiration of the visitors. Painting and woodcarving, various embroidery, basket weaving, beading, bobbin weaving, products made of straw, birch bark, rag dolls, patchwork technique - each product is a real work of art and, indeed, the work of real Masters.

Yana Vladimirovna was given a great creative gift. She loved to draw since childhood. And she constantly studied, improving her professional level. She successfully graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of the Novooskolskaya Children's School of Art (class of teacher Kozmenko L.G.), then Alekseevsky Pedagogical College with a degree in Fine Arts and Drawing. In 2007, already working at the House of Crafts, she entered the correspondence department of Belgorod State University.

Yana masterfully owns many genres of arts and crafts (plastic paper, silk painting, beadwork), but her favorite thing is painting on wood.

The craftswoman works a lot in traditional Russian painting, including Khokhloma, Mezen, Severodvinsk, but also actively develops her own decorative painting. And these works are so delightful, made with such artistic taste, grace and skill that they simply captivated the professional jury. It is as a master of painting on wood that Yana Rybakova was awarded the title of "People's Master of the Belgorod Region".

Masters of the Stary Oskol House of Crafts showed aerobatics on the Lipetsk land

On March 13-14, the master of the Stary Oskol House of Crafts Yekaterina Kravchenko and a student of the children's studio "Live Clay" Karina Nikishina took part in the Interregional Exhibition of Traditional Clay Toys "Ancient Images of Clay Toys in the Works of Modern Folk Craftsmen". This exhibition was held within the framework of the federal target program "Culture of Russia" on Lipetsk land in the regional center of Romanov toys.

Works Kravchenko E.K. and Nikishina N.N. vividly represented the declared theme: "Woman, birds, horses", as the traditional Stary Oskol clay toy combines female images, images of birds and animals. The selection of the presented toys was carried out by the exhibition committee, consisting of experts in arts and crafts in the city of Lipetsk.

The opening of the exhibition took place in the exhibition hall of the Regional Center of the Romanov Toy. A warm welcome was given by the hosts of the OCRI, local craftsmen were happy to share valuable and interesting information about the techniques of modeling clay toys and pottery.

The scientific and practical conference “Problems of modern traditional clay toys” aroused particular interest among the guests of the exhibition, where each speaker spoke about the main pressing problems of their craft. Participants from Lipetsk, Penza, Kaluga, Tambov, Voronezh, Stary Oskol, Belgorod, Kursk and Orel voiced the most interesting articles, where they identified the main issues in the revival, preservation and development of traditional clay toys.

Our craftswomen visited a tour of the city of Lipetsk, and also participated in master classes in pottery (S.V. Ilyina), a textile doll (S.A. Grishina), and modeling a Romanov toy (V.V. Markin).

At the end of the main events, all the masters participating in the exhibition opened a fair-sale of clay toys. The tourist group could purchase Filimonovskaya, Sudzhanskaya, Abashevskaya, Starooskolskaya, Romanovskaya and other clay toys. Here the nightingale trill of the whistle sounded, and the rumble of large ocarinas.

Textile mosaic by Lyudmila Podgornaya is always functional

In the Rakityansky district, a patchwork craftswoman Lyudmila Nikolaevna Podgornaya has been working for a long time. From childhood, she came into contact with things made by the skillful hands of folk craftswomen. For many years, the Podgorny family carefully kept a patchwork quilt sewn by a great-grandmother. All this gradually formed in the master a sensitive, reverent attitude to folk art, an understanding of its aesthetic canons. Having trained as a seamstress, she acquired the necessary skills to translate her creative ideas. Working in the House of Crafts gave her the opportunity to both create original works and transfer her knowledge to students.

Since 2000, Lyudmila Nikolaevna has actively participated in regional and regional exhibitions and festivals with works that have always demonstrated her skill in creating a composition, in a harmonious color scheme, her careful attitude to folk traditions. In his work, the master uses not only the technique of patchwork, traditional for Russia, but also works in modern “quilting”, which combines many visual techniques of working with textiles. Interesting effects are created by the master when using fabrics of different textures, such as satin and chintz.

In 2012, Podgornaya Lyudmila Nikolaevna was awarded the title "People's Master of the Belgorod Region" for her talent, skill and pedagogical work. The secrets of the art of patchwork technique are adopted from the master by her young students in the circles "Wonderful Moments" and "Needlewoman". According to an individual program, Lyudmila Podgornaya teaches children from a correctional boarding school, and also conducts master classes for a wide range of people interested in folk crafts.

From July 5 to July 7, the XIII Interregional Universal Wholesale and Retail Korenskaya Fair was held in Kursk. It is located near the Holy Gates of the monastery in the town of Svoboda. Dolls from Maya Sysoeva

On October 18, 19, on the basis of the Stary Oskol House of Crafts, master classes by the People's Craftsman of Russia Maya Sysoeva "Expedition Dolls of the Vologda Region" were held.

Maya Sysoeva is one of the leading traditional puppeteers. She conducts scientific ethnographic expeditions to Vologda villages, develops original dolls based on traditional images. Her dolls are kept in the collections of ethnographic museums and Orthodox monasteries.

Master classes brought together venerable and novice craftswomen from Stary Oskol, Gubkin, Belgorod. The theme of the work was the traditional dolls of the North of Russia.

Sysoeva introduced the audience to the methods of making an ash doll, a doll from the borderlands of the Kostroma and Vologda regions, twist dolls, dolls "father-mother", "family", a Cherepovets couple, twisted dolls with an inflection.

Maya Anatolyevna conquered everyone with her unsurpassed skill, charm and numerous stories about expeditions to Vologda villages.
