In general, not a girl, but a find!

In the tenth grade, he gets on the radio, and after graduating from school he becomes a student at the Yakut State University, where he studies at the Faculty of Philology for two years. Levan's promotion in the media space began with participation in the KVN team of the university. Pretty soon, the young man becomes the host of the student league of KVN of Yakutsk, staying in this status for three years.

By the age of twenty, Gorozia is already successfully working as the host of two radio programs and one television program in Yakutia. The track record of his biography includes the radio stations "Mix - Master", "Dynamite FM - Yakutsk", "Lena - Radio", as well as the TV channels "Muz - TV - Yakutsk" and "Master TV", the site writes. For some time he even works as the director of the creative department of a media holding, which included two radio stations and two TV channels.

During this period, the future singer writes and accumulates material for his first solo album. Using acquaintances on radio and television, Levan even held a presentation in Yakutsk in 2005. Seeing their son's passion for music, the parents did not understand why he needed it, they believed that she did not bring money. They did not even imagine that their son could achieve something in this.

Creativity L'One

L'One in Moscow, first steps

For an ambitious young man, this is not enough, he dreams of more. While working in Yakutsk on the radio, he learned that the first hip-hop and R&B radio station in Russia, Radio Next, had opened in Moscow, and listened to it via the Internet. In 2005, together with his friend Igor Pustelnik (Nel - Russian rap artist and beatmaker, member of the Marselle group with L'One, member of the Phlatline association), he takes the first and most difficult step towards fame.

Under the pretext that he is going to Moscow to study as a journalist, he quits his studies and work in Yakutsk and moves to the capital in order to get to work for Radio Next. Arriving in the capital, the friends realized that they were practically nowhere, in a strange city where no one needed them.

But, a little time will pass, and Levan will write:
Through the Arbat to the Embankment, to the Moscow River - this is my home, this is your home.
And when you cut circles along Sadovoye - this is my house, this is your house.
Where the sidewalks draw a pattern - this is my home, this is your home.
And my tears are not shame - this is my house, this is your house.

Together with Igor, they rented a one-room apartment for two. It was not easy, there were neither relatives nor friends. However, the step was taken, and Levan decided for himself that now he is standing at the beginning of the road, which should lead him somewhere.

At that time, there was no task to make music globally, but at the same time, friends did not leave their goals and desires related to it. It took a whole year to get a job at Radio Next. This was the first starting point for further progress. In parallel, Levan nevertheless entered the Moscow Humanitarian Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting (GITR) at the Faculty of Journalism.

In the process of studying, he was greatly helped by the work experience gained in the media of Yakutia. Much was already known, and by the end of the second year, it became boring to study, and the passion for music did not leave. After passing the exams, he goes on academic leave. It's time to give in to creativity. So the second attempt to get a higher education in Moscow turned out to be as unsuccessful as the first in Yakutsk. In an interview, L'One said: “The funny thing is that then I went to my institute with master classes on the topic “The difference between an indie artist and an artist on a label.”

For the first year, he and Igor composed music simply “on the table”. Then, due to visiting clubs and musical parties, the appearance of acquaintances, little by little everything began to spin. It was very hard, sometimes they simply didn’t have money to eat, and ordinary buckwheat porridge with ketchup was not often a delicacy. This situation forced them to somehow earn a living. Levan was forced to earn extra money in a creative agency, where he wrote scripts for holidays and corporate parties. In addition, he worked as a host at parties and in clubs.

In 2005, the artist's biography will experience a turning point! L'One and Nel create the group "Marselle". It consists of: Levan, who mainly writes lyrics, and Igor, who overlays a beat on them. The guys showed their demos to everyone they could. Including on the radio, where Levan worked, but they said that this is not it, it will not work here. He tells: “In such a situation, resistance goes with itself. It is very difficult not to give up, not to spit and start doing something else that immediately brings you money or gives you some results. This struggle with oneself is the most important thing for a creative person. And the point is not to be recognized at this stage, but simply to go further towards your goals. And if you have a desire to achieve something, then you must go, climb, crawl, get to know each other, communicate, talk.

In the end, one day he brought the song “Moscow” to the radio, thanks to which the public learned about the Marselle group. For thirty weeks, this song was at the forefront of the Radio Next hit parade. Life has changed dramatically.

The group got its name after the French city of Marseille, which was famous for its rap scene. In 2007, the Marselle group signed a contract with the famous German label Phlatline, which lasted until March 31, 2011. The band released their first mixtape titled "I am the Russian dream vol.1" in 2007.

The first popularity for Levan and Igor comes during their participation in the TV show "Battle for Respect" on "MUZ TV". In 2008, in the first season of the show, L'One lost in the semifinals to a label partner, a rapper (Alexander Stepanov). In the second season, the Marselle group was already introduced by Nel, who reached the final and won.

"Marselle" becomes recognizable. In 2008, together with Basta, Sasha Legend, Teona Dolnikova, Dza-Dze (Yakut rapper) and Khapa (Alexander Malets), they record and release the studio album "Mars" with the famous single "Moscow", which in 2011 was included in the film by Timur Bekmakbetov "Phantom".

The album is released on the Monolith Records label with the support of Phlatline. The album contains nineteen tracks. Criticism wrote about this work: “They got the job done. They have a hit that made the right noise. There is a beatmaker who summed up all the beats under one common sound. And there is the right lyrics, also creating the right atmosphere. It is worth noting one feature, this is the language of the guys. It has so many anglicisms and borrowings from American slang that it gives additional points for the perception of the final product as not too Russian. After all, all these “micro”, “gan”, “bro”, “play”, “blunt”, “man” are scattered everywhere.

In honor of Phlatline's 5th anniversary, the compilation Phlatline in da building was released in 2009. The disc also featured new works by Marselle. In support, a video was also shot for the song "In Your House".

During the period of active work of the group, clips were also shot:

  • "He was", "Moscow" - 2008;
  • “She”, “In your house”, “Spin the blunt” - 2009;
  • "All that I need", "Moscow" - 2011.

In January 2012, the Marselle group temporarily stopped their creative activity. As Levan said: “We just took a creative break. We have slightly different approaches to work. I am a person who needs to do as much as possible to avoid depression. Igor lives in a different rhythm.” Judging by this statement, the reason for the suspension of the work of the group was a different approach to the work of its members.

How did L'One get on "Black Star"? The singer notes that he did not have an end in itself to get acquainted with Timati, it developed somehow by itself. He does not hide the fact that at the beginning, like many musicians, he was skeptical about this label. But, as time went on, views changed, the moment came when something had to be changed in his career. And so, in May 2012, L'One was offered to continue his work on the Black Star Inc label, and he agreed. On this occasion, Timati said: “In general, the segment of the material that L’One creates is not filled. We signed this artist because I see potential in him and in the music he makes. His rapping is interesting and I see the future in this.”

L'One believes that it is very difficult for any artist to succeed alone, the site writes. There should always be a team of people who will work for the success of the artist, for a general positive result. Now on the label, many decisions are made together, but in the creative component, the final decision remains with him, because he feels his audience and the music that he wants to present to people. Moreover, he came to the label not as a novice artist, but already with some experience. Therefore, by combining the contents of his creative baggage with the ideas and proposals of the label, now the output is a quality product.

To the question "kuraj-bambey" - what is better and what is the difference: to be a freelance artist or to be on a label? L'One replied: “To be a freelance artist on a label. This is the most beautiful feeling that is happening to me right now. Everything has its pros and cons, and if you try to combine them, you will get just my story.

L'One's style of music is melodic and accessible pop rap in the vein of Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Drake. Moreover, over time, from album to album, it is constantly changing, as the artist is constantly experimenting and developing.

L’One was one of the participants in the writing and performance of the track “Come on, goodbye”, which was recorded in 2012 during the conflict that occurred between Timati and Philip Kirkorov as a result of the MUZ TV award. Timati considered that the awards were not fair. Between them began a scandalous correspondence on Twitter. At the call of Timati, many rappers immediately connected at this time, including L'One. They composed each of their verses, put everything together. So a track arose against that pop musical layer in Russia, which already stands across the throat and whose preacher is Kirkorov.

L’One notes that there are already many good artists in the country who are long overdue to appear on the big stage. However, the old TV and radio formats, which have become obsolete, do not give them this. With this track, rappers wanted to break the long-established pop channel of making money on not very good music.

But it is hard to imagine that turning on, for example, the first television channel, you will not see and hear Philip Kirkorov. L’One does not quite agree with this, because generations are growing up, changing. And if you look at the central channels, there is still really quite a lot of pop music, but young artists with their videos have already begun to be taken there. There is every opportunity to show other music, the main thing is to make a quality product.

In April 2013, the debut studio album was released for the period of work on the Black Star Inc. label. called "Sputnik". The album is very motivational, it is for those people who set certain goals for themselves, believe in their strengths and dreams.

L'One started working on it right after joining the label. The album contains fourteen tracks, six of which are guest tracks. The guests were: Timati ("The Future Is Somewhere Near"), Pavel Murashov ("Your Day Has Come"), Chest ("Salute to Heaven"), Christina Si ("Bonnie and Clyde"), Ms. Sounday ("Time"), Tina Smith ("Love and Hate").

The album contains singles:

  • "Monday" is the first official single released on October 3, 2012;
  • "Love and Hate" - released February 4, 2012 and produced by beatmaker 4eu3;
  • “Everyone dances with their elbows” - the release of this song in the trap genre took place on February 13, 2013, simultaneously with the video directed by Rustam Romanov. The track very quickly became first a hit, and then reached the status of a cult. According to L’One, this is actually a remix of his song that no one will ever hear, and the phrase “wherever I am, everyone is dancing with their elbows” is simply taken out of its context.

Levan came up with the idea for this song after his concert in Krasnodar. During the performance, out of the corner of his ear, he heard from the guys who worked on the stage the phrase “we dance with our elbows”, which they shouted into the hall, turning on the crowd. Then the style of music "trap" in Russia was gaining momentum, and he got the idea to combine what he heard with such music. The singer suggested to his DJ with whom he goes on tour (DJ Butch) to make a remix and this is the result.

The version of the song that is being listened to now is its seventh version. During the work, a lot of things changed from drums to some line, until the desired version turned out. There used to be swear words in the text, the song was rather dirty and unformatted. While working on it, Levan's team joked and laughed a lot - what if they hear her, for example, in a minibus. People go to work, and here - "everyone is dancing with their elbows"! So it was finalized, and now the song is played and listened to everywhere.

Why, in fact, "dance with elbows"? - such a question was asked to the singer during his tour in Voronezh. He replied: “Because everyone dances with their elbows! If you look at it this way, then Yeltsin danced with his elbows, LeBron James danced with his elbows, Afonya even danced in such a movement - everyone dances with their elbows! Trap and elbows are one and the same. It's the most important movement in trap."

  • The premiere of the video "The Future is Somewhere Near" - took place on April 26, 2013, and for the first time it was performed by L'One and Timati on February 14 of the same year on the "Big Love Show" from "Love Radio";
  • "I'll Be Young" is the fifth single released on September 5, 2013 with a video clip directed by Vladimir Shklyarevsky.

A week after the release, the album took fourth place in the iTunes Store ranking, and at the end of 2013 it became sixty-seventh in the bestseller list. During this period, L'One tours the country and promotes the album "Sputnik", because the people want to listen to him and sing along with him. L'One said at the time: "Twenty concerts a month is not the limit."

At the same time, he is a little skeptical about how the album is received in the country. In his opinion, Russia is still not ready for such music, because it is fundamentally different from all that Russian rap that exists now. In this contrast, suggests L'One, he will certainly have both fans and haters. Despite the fact that, judging by the social networks, the album is liked, he is sure that there are people who will say: “Ugh, what is this?” also a lot, and perhaps even more than admirers. But, the artist is sure that the more fans come to his concerts, the higher Sputnik will fly.

L'One and the Lonely Universe album

The Lonely Universe album was released in 2014 and consists of eleven tracks, four of which were recorded with the guests of the disc:

  • "Ocean" - feat. Fidel;
  • "I Remember" - feat. Timati;
  • "Music. Happiness. Love" - feat. Rita Dakota;
  • "Pirates" - feat. Naadya.

The album is tailored for big tours. Choruses - bridges - hooks, instrumentals, from which even the most clumsy will jump, lines that the audience will scream in unison - all this is available. And so it happened, with the album the artist goes on a tour called “Everything! Or nothing!" in twenty-nine cities of Russia. The first performance took place in his hometown of Yakutsk, and the final one in the Moscow club "Ray Just Arena".

One of the reviews for the album (Nikolai Redkin for "Flow") said: “I like the breadth of Leva's horizons. In America, some ASAP Ferg easily adds his verses to the songs of the HAIM group - here he similarly processed the song of the singer Naadi, it turned out cool. There are good songs "Ocean" and "Adrenaline" - without any discounts on "sound great live", just good, according to the Hamburg account. It was quite effective to remind about the Marselle group, and from the reaction to the joint track of L’One and Nel, it is clear that many missed their tandem.

In September 2015, the EP "Avtolyubitel" was released, consisting of six songs. In it, one of them (“Airplane Mode”) is a fit with Pavel Murashov, the rest are performed by L’One. The tracks are written in the style of nostalgic jazz rap. Music, as noted by experts, is not similar to what he released earlier. The idea of creating a mini-album appeared as a result of the correlation of pre-existing musical material.

About this work, the artist said for The Flow: “Everyone thinks that I brought back the old sound, but in fact it is as it was in my songs, it is. I never get hung up on a certain format: today I do 808s and Mr. Heisenberg, and tomorrow I do something in the style of Jimi Hendrix.

At the end of September 2016, the final part of the space trilogy was released in the form of the third studio album Gravity. The album turned out to be diverse and solid. On this record, L'One sounds the most convincing of his entire career.

On the eve of the release of this work, the artist said this about her: “There is a lot of love on the album. Love for the family, for a woman, for music. The main reason why the main character, having worked out all this space history, is trying to return to Earth is love. This is such a general line of the whole album. There will be no motivation as such. I've already talked about it for two albums. She will be present, but minimally. There will be almost no trap, the global rocking that I suffered on previous records.”

The recording was made mainly in Amsterdam. The artist went there in search of inspiration along with his team, guest performers and producers. It required a complete disconnection from the everyday hustle and bustle, in Moscow it is impossible to do. And what could be better than creating in the capital of Holland on the ocean.

The rented apartment was converted into a studio, where work was in full swing from morning to night. The principles of the formation of the album correspond to the standards of Kanye West. It looks like a combination of "conscious" hip-hop in the spirit of Talib Kvelli ("Fire and Water") and jazzy rap ("Bird cherry"), and then suddenly L'One reads out a beat in the spirit of Just Blaze ("Rocket").

The album consists of seventeen tracks. It is more musical than the previous ones, many instruments are recorded live. Hooks are almost everywhere performed by guest artists:

  • Basta, Vladi - "Rocket" (beat by an American producer);
  • Elka - "Chance";
  • Monatik - "Dream";
  • Pavel Murashov - "My way";
  • Kristina Si - "Bird cherry";
  • Nel, Paanda - "Brother for brother";
  • Group "Moral Code" - "Night Caprice";
  • Jasmine - "Road", "Martian".

Regarding Jasmine, in an interview with The Flow, L'One and Basta said:

  • L’One: “Everyone thinks that I have a song on the album with the Russian singer Jasmine. Her real name is Jasmine Karimova. She has a lot of mixed blood. She lived in Australia, lived in London. Now lives in Amsterdam. She is eighteen years old. Just a space man. Absolute pure energy from it pret. Now she is writing an album in Los Angeles with top musicians who worked with Adele, with Shakira. She has nothing to do with Russia or Black Star. She sings in English, and I, the bastard, made her sing with an accent in Russian.
  • Basta: “Leva came to visit and put me a song recorded with one girl. I swear, neither I nor anyone else has ever heard such vocals. This album has the best L'One beats he's ever rapped on, here's the best sound, here he's managed to capture the right vibe he's been chasing lately.

Russian professional basketball player Timofey Mozgov and European and world champion in rhythmic gymnastics Lyaysan Utyasheva took part in the filming of the video "All or Nothing". How were they persuaded to do so? I have known Timofey Levan for a very long time. He himself is a basketball player in the past, he knows a lot of people from the world of basketball, constantly keeps in touch with them, including Timofey.

I’ve known Laysan not so long ago, but at the first contact with her I realized that they were on the same wavelength. And when Levan invited these people to take part in the filming of the video, they happily agreed. They liked the idea of the clip, because many athletes are very close to the slogan - "All or nothing!"

In May 2016, L'One presented its new video for the famous song by Natalia Trapeznikova "Yakutyanochka". Performed by him together with the singer Varvara Vizbor, the song sounded completely new. The clip was filmed in Yakutia on the territory of Us Khatyn in April. The text about love for a Yakut girl was supplemented by a friend of the singer - Nel. The clip "Yakutyanochka" has become the second in a row, which was filmed by L'One in Yakutia. The first was the work "From the bottom", in which the artist talks about the very beginning of his biographical journey into music.

L'One as actor, director

The first musical film was released, the first short film for the EP "Avtolyubitel", where he directed and plays himself. In the future, he plans to release some kind of art house every six months.

L’One was able to try his acting skills in 2011 in the promo video “Pregnant” (episodic role) and in the film “CHOP” (second season, fifteenth episode) by performing the song “Everyone dances with their elbows.”

L'One about his ideals in creativity

In an interview for GQ magazine, the artist named three "pillars" on which his work is based. It:

  • Talib Kweli - rapper from America, known for the Black Star team (American hip-hop duet) in collaboration with MC Mos Def;
  • Kanye West is an American rapper and record producer. Repeatedly called by critics one of the greatest artists of the twenty-first century. He took part in creating hits for such artists as Ludacris, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Talib Kweli;
  • Jay-Z is a rapper from the United States, known for having thirteen albums on the top of the Billboard 200, which is a record among all solo artists and ranked second in history after The Beatles with their nineteen albums.

The attitude of L'One to Russian and rap

How does L’One feel about what they say, they say, there is no rap in Russia? To this question of Taisiya Zhuravleva "Postscript" the musician answered: “You invited a rapper for an interview, people go to concerts, there are two rap concerts in one city, many rappers travel around the country, many gather huge audiences of listeners. To say that there is no Russian rap is some kind of self-irony, there is Russian rap and it has a very large number of admirers. And the task of the artists of this direction is to make it even more popular, so that not only rappers listen. Then it will become even more popular.

He has always had a bias towards the West, but L'One wants to make his music closer to Russian realities. What is the difference between Russian rap and foreign? In his opinion, this is that the Russian rapper, unlike the American one, is ashamed to make money. There, somehow everything is sharpened for it. This is probably neither good nor bad. There it is a global industry, which is tied to TV channels, radio stations, specialized magazines and websites, specialized journalists, and so on. Russian rap is a certain segment of music tailored for a very small audience, despite the fact that the audience is expanding and getting bigger and bigger. There it is an industry, but in our society it is regarded more as a hobby by the society.

L'One on what a modern young gentleman should listen to

The artist says that it is definitely difficult to say what this playlist should be, especially since everything is developing so rapidly. However, this list, in his opinion, should include:

  • "Niggas in Paris" - Kanye West and Jay-Z;
  • British rock band Coldplay;
  • Russian band "Tesla Boy" - Dream Machine;
  • French "M83" - Midnight City.

Sometimes L’One is reproached for changing the audience of listeners since the “Battle for Respect”, and the question is asked what made you reconsider your views on creativity? To this, the singer replies: “The word “creativity” means “create”. This means that you cannot stay the same all the time.

If the listener heard one song or album, then in his understanding, the artist should continue to write and perform only such things? As well as, for example, an artist who previously painted flowers has now begun to paint at home, then his admirers have a question and indignation - why did the changes take place, why are they now at home, because there were flowers ?!

L'One is a person who experiments throughout his life. To understand his position on this issue, he decomposes his own work into stages, explaining:

  • one of the first with the Marselle group, they began to make some kind of intelligent music - hip-hop and rap absolutely not tied to underground romance. In general, we decided to bring something of our own;
  • after that, the artist decided that with his work he would give the audience some incentive to be better, some motivation for everyone who hears his songs. Later I decided that I needed to create art with which you can make all five to seven thousand people who came to the concert fly with you from the stage in euphoria;
  • now he has released the EP "Avtolyubitel", returned to a more jazzy sound with a different semantic load.

He so wanted. And when the creator begins to follow the lead of his audience or society, he ceases to be a creator and becomes a opportunist. L'One is not going to be such a person. He wants that one day, waking up in the morning with an understanding of what he wants to write, for example, a rock song, not to think that after that, someone will say - why do we need this? Give us rap!

The Creator is a free artist, so L’One is convinced that it is impossible not to change, you need to Create!

L'One on dedication at concerts

Once upon a time, three concerts a week were not enough for him, then he began to give twenty concerts a month and said that this was not the limit. But what about fatigue and performance quality? To this the singer replied: “Of course, when I throw energy into the crowd, there is some devastation after the concert. But, if you do what you love, and it gives pleasure, then in any case you will find the strength to do it further. Therefore, even when at the third concert in a week I already have a broken voice, I still find the strength in myself and pump it to the maximum. I do not want, for example, people from some city to write - today Lyova arrived and was kind of gloomy, sad and did not shake. This is not my style, I go on stage and I'm with the people. This is the most important feature in my concerts. I never rock alone, I always rock with my people."

Together with him, his tour team overcomes such a rhythm - director Ulyana, sound engineer Seryoga and DJ Butch. He is almost like an independent artist. Those people who come to the concert notice it. He has a separate block of his program, for about twenty minutes, when he goes to Levan and works with the public. Butch is practically the only DJ who works with a microphone. He is a DJ MC, he warms up the crowd, prepares them for what will happen on stage.

L'One on competitors for Black Star artists

Worthy rivals L’One considers Basta, the Casta group, whose members do not relax for a long time and constantly develop, Nel is an intelligent hippie of Russian rap. Of the young and little known, this is ATL, making nihilist rap, dirty horror-core. This, as the artist says, is new, interesting and even scary.

L'One shares the secret to success for beginners

“There is no perfect formula. Hard work, perseverance and a little bit of talent. Everything,” he says.

Other interests of L'One

L'One and "Swag"

“Swag is good that he appeared in Russia,” says L’One in one of his interviews (“swag” is a word expressing coolness in any of its manifestations, as well as respect and indisputable authority). Thanks to this word, many young boys and girls began to dress even better. On their examples, in photographs on the Internet, others learn to look right and beautiful. Levan believes that there is nothing shameful in the fact that a person is beautifully dressed. This is much better than being dressed in shoes with white socks and rolled up sweatpants or something like that.

Some are outraged that these are Americanisms that penetrate Russian speech and influence Russian life. No, it's cool! After all, if you can come from Yakutsk to New York, you will have a snapback on your head, and a passer-by will come up to you and say swag, then you will immediately understand what he is talking about and what he means. For him, the meaning of this word is not pathos, not coolness, it is a feature, self-realization. It can be anything from your pair of sneakers to your behavior. Your behavior can also be a swag. L'One is positive about this.

Wikipedia won't tell you about it! Since 2014, he has had his own showcase of RBT content - melodies that replace the usual waiting beeps on phones.

L'One also tries himself as a business coach. In Moscow, Krasnodar and Rostov, he visited institutes and universities, conducted master classes. There he told, based on his life moments, how to move and act in various situations when developing his business. I am ready to continue doing this if there are invitations and a small audience ready to listen to him.

L'One about talent and hard work

L'One does not consider himself a talented person, rather a hardworking one. This industriousness makes him get up every day and make music, go to the studio, improve himself, do exercises every day at nine o'clock in the morning - all this contributes to creative growth. If you want to achieve your goals - improve yourself, force yourself to work even when your hands drop, just remember that it will not get better, and then you will regret it, in the end. You want yours much more than your parents, friends or someone else, then you will succeed. At least he tries to act according to these principles and says: "Do sports, drink less and smoke lighter"!

L'One and motivation

“The most important motivation is somewhere inside every creative person” he thinks. A variety of things can motivate you, for example, your friends, comments on your VKontakte wall. But you should not pay attention to all this, but you should feed yourself from the inside with some thoughts that make you move. The materialization of thoughts works to some extent. If you constantly think about the goal to which you are going, it will certainly force you to do some actions to improve yourself and your actions. No matter what, you have to go and move forward.

The artist's biography includes many motivating songs. To some extent, he writes them for himself, in order to cheer up more. But they come out on their own. There is no such thing that before writing a song he sets himself a task - today I will write a track on this problem so that everyone thinks, and tomorrow - on another.

L’One has devoted about ten years to this sport. He is a candidate master of sports in basketball. He took part in competitions, the team traveled to the zones of the Far East, won the international games "Children of Asia". This is his favorite sport.

In those days, training was not without problems. One of them is the lack of quality sneakers. He started with Converse (Converse sneakers), then other, better ones appeared. However, on a subconscious level, even now he still has a passion to buy such sports shoes, a pair a week.

His favorite NBA team for many years has been the Los Angeles Lakers, which he has been a fan of since Magic Johnson. Of the Russian clubs, he does not particularly single out anyone, rather, he is a fan of those where his friends play. For example, Dmitry Khvostov plays in Nizhny Novgorod, so he supports him, and through him the team.

To the question - if not music, then what? The singer clearly answered: "Then - sports or something related to it, despite the fact that I used to be a professional basketball player and "thanks" to an injury got into music."

L'One believes that the essence of the game of basketball gives the desire to constantly and persistently move forward to achieve results, to win. The time when he was engaged in it also influenced him in this sense, educating and tempering his character. He has many friends in Moscow and throughout Russia associated with this sport.

Basketball continues to love, goes out to play on the court or in the hall, tries to do it more often. Although with his constant moving and employment on tour, work in the studio and everything else that is connected with music, it is not possible to devote much time to basketball. With pleasure he watches the NBA championship at five o'clock in the morning (due to the time difference with America) and cheers for his favorite club.

Not so long ago I decided to develop my favorite game in Russia. Now basketball as a sport, unfortunately, is not even among the five most popular. He organized a charity match with the participation of an NBA star, a match of stars in Gorky Park, where Levan himself played. He plans to restore basketball courts in several cities and hold master classes.

In addition to basketball, L’One loves other team sports, such as football. His five favorite football players look like this: Zinedine Zidane, Lionel Messi, his uncle, who was involved in the youth football team of Georgia, Ronaldo ("Critter"), Ronaldinho.

  • the last gift you gave your wife is a bag;
  • you think you're cool - definitely.

About gifts. The last gift that his wife gave him was a helicopter flight under his own control with an instructor! She was with him, sat all the time, trembling and heroically endured, watching the process and waiting for it to finally end.

During the period of being at the airport or train station, waiting for a flight, he first of all looks for a smoking room, and then a place where he can sleep. During the tour, I realized that the most unattainable goal is to get enough sleep. There is nothing more pleasant than sleep, so at the first opportunity - sleep, sleep, sleep!

While traveling, he plays fifa for Barcelona on his iPad, listens to music, plays his most hated game, which is called "The Hardest Game".

Joke from L'One

To a serious question from the “Elite Bath Salon” - where songs are best invented, asked in an interview to Levan through “kuraj-bambey”, the artist replied: “By logic, I should, apparently, answer - on the toilet! But, no, friends, songs are best invented on an airplane.

L'One on the impact of the Internet on youth

The Internet, according to L'One, greatly emasculates young people. Not all, but part of it loses the measure of what is permitted, and the framework of virtual reality directly transfers to life. For example, it’s unpleasant when L’One suddenly becomes a “bro” for a fifteen-year-old boy, or when he goes with his wife and young son, and someone comes up and unceremoniously grabs him by the shoulders, and so on. This is not right, people should just respect each other and everyone's privacy.

Singer for the free distribution of music via the Internet. Everything has changed so globally that it makes no sense to prevent this. It makes sense to support and leave the choice to the listener. He can get acquainted and buy his music or come to his concert.

L'One and fashion

Despite the music and sports, he also got into fashion. He is the owner of his own clothing line "Cosmokot". His collections can be bought at Black Star Wear stores in Moscow, Krasnodar, Yakutsk and other Russian cities.

A fan of sneakers, he owns over 250 pairs and keeps buying them. Favorite Air Jordan XI Space Jam. Despite the fact that all rappers prefer black clothing, L'One prefers all white, including the cars that he now has or used to have.

Separately, about the tuxedo. Not only L’One, but all of its members look just “atas!” in these clothes for the “GQ” video. When asked by a Prime ONE correspondent about the musician's attitude to this style, he replies that a tuxedo for him is not a casual style. It is comfortable, but it is not at all everyday wear. This costume is more for going out, for some global events. You can wear just a suit or “troika” once a week or more often, on occasion.

L’One is an adherent of some style of his own, which he invents every morning when he opens his wardrobe. As a person who was previously involved in sports, he likes a more free style of clothing. But, of course, it is very pleasant for him to sometimes wear a tuxedo, to feel a little stricter.

L'One on what a modern man should look like

To such a question from GQ magazine, the singer replied that these were clothes in a combination of a suit with sneakers. At first, when he saw this in London, he was simply shocked, but then L’One realized how cool it was! As a rule, these are Nike sneakers. “I think that a modern man, a resident of a metropolis, should not deny himself anything and should look the way his heart desires. It can be a mixture of sports style and casual, it can be a classic suit and sports, it can be all black. The globe, it seems to me, has turned into one big cosmopolis, where frames and boundaries are erased.- says L̕ One.

L'One's relationship to celebrity and notoriety

While L’One does not consider himself a celebrity, he says that when 25-30 thousand people come to his concert, then it will be possible to say that he is really famous. At a meeting with students of the Moscow University "Synergy" to the question - what is it for him to be a successful person - he answered: “To be successful is already to be invited to this meeting.”

Many say that after becoming a Black Star artist, everyone immediately puts a crown on their head, catches a star, and then cars in the garage, their planes at the airport, and so on. Levan stops this enumeration, says that he already had such an opportunity more than once. But, there were always older people nearby and gave a slap on the back of the head in time. And the upbringing in the family of a Georgian does not allow him to behave inappropriately.

Yes, "Black Star" is a status, but not everyone who gets here wears this crown or feels much higher than everyone else. And what they say is the inevitable opinion of the haters.

For young people seeking recognition, L'One replies that now, in order to become famous, it is not necessary to be in the center at the initial stage. In the age of the Internet, you can sparkle while in the outback. Then, probably, you still have to move to Moscow. Although now there are groups that remain, for example, in Chelyabinsk or Orenburg and are quite famous. But, in general, to achieve the highest level of recognition, you still need to be in Moscow.

L'One himself would like to get an autograph and take a picture with Mike Jordan, Kanye West.

L'One's personal life is the most interesting part of his biography

He met his wife Anya in the first year of the Humanitarian Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting at the student parade, and after a couple of weeks he beat her off from the guy she met.

In September 2013, in one of the maternity hospitals in Moscow, they had a son, who was named Misha. It was that moment in life that brought the freshly baked father to tears. The spouses chose this name because all the Mikhails that Levan met on his life path were strong, very good and cheerful. He hopes his son will be the same when he grows up.

The singer for all nine months carefully prepared with his wife for the birth of their first child. A lot of all kinds of literature on the care of babies and the education of children was read. This, they believe, prepared the young family for any situation with a child.

"Being a father is an amazing feeling," says L'One. Due to constant touring, employment at the studio, he would like to see his family more often so that his wife and son do not feel deprived of his attention. But when he is at home with his family, he completely switches to her and let the whole world wait. He jokes that his wife is like the wife of a Decembrist, she waited and believed that he would succeed. After all, she appeared in Levan's life when he had nothing yet. About Ana, L’One says: “She is a great mother, a great friend and lover, and she knows perfectly well that if I disappear somewhere until the morning, then I'm in the studio. We know each other like flakes."

Now a lot of young girls are fond of rap. As a rule, they are quite free and liberated. Do they make any obscene proposals to Levan? To this question from a HipHopHit TV correspondent, he replied: “It happens, of course. But the thing is, I have a crush, so I try to translate it into a flirty genre, like, OK! Yes, but nothing more. Apparently the wife is jealous, according to L'One, and says that she does not give her any global reasons for jealousy.

Levan Gorozia, better known as L "One, is a Russian rap / hip-hop artist, founder of the WDKTZ (weedkatz) group along with DJ Pill.One, a former member of the Marselle group. In 2012, he signed a contract with the Russian label Black Star Inc. and started his solo career.

Levan Gorozia was born in Krasnoyarsk in 1985. In his youth, he moved to Yakutsk, where he began his creative life as an artist. Since childhood, he has been professionally involved in basketball, was part of the national team of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), but the injury did not allow him to continue his sports career, but only completely switched all his attention to creativity.

In Yakutsk he was a media personality, played in KVN, and later, for 3 years, was the host of the student league of KVN in Yakutsk. He worked on radio and TV, while recording material for the album.

After the release of his first solo album in Yakutsk, L'ONE moved to Moscow and, together with his colleague Nel, formed the Marselle group.

In 2008, the group's first mixtape called "Mars FM" was released, and a reality show about the creation of the record was launched on the Internet. In the same 2008, a full-fledged album "Mars" was released, in the recording of which such artists as BASTA, Teona Dolnikova, Dza-Dze, Sasha Legend, and Knara took part. It was named the best application for the new Air Force 1.

With the release of the track "Moscow" and the debut album, Marselle made themselves known throughout the country and traveled to many cities in Russia, deserving the recognition and love of their fans and fans, for 32 weeks ranked first in the Next Fm hit parade. In 2011, the track "Moscow" became the soundtrack to the film "Phantom" by Timur Bekmambetov

In 2009, the compilation "Phlatline in da building" was released to coincide with the label's fifth anniversary. This disc featured new works by "Marselle" and ST. In support of the compilation, a video clip was shot for the track "Marselle and ST" - "In your house".

The Rap.ru website releases the Mars FM podcast. Marselle successfully give concerts with various musicians and DJ Booch.

On March 31, 2011 Marselle, ST and DJ Booch ceased their collaboration with the Hip-Hop agency Phlatline.

Since 2012, L "ONE goes into a solo project and receives an invitation to collaborate with the Black Star Inc. label.

I welcome guests and regular readers of the site website. In this article I will talk about the rap artist from the label "Black Star". So, L'One, and in the passport - Levan Gorozia first saw the light in Krasnoyarsk on October 9, 1985.

When Levan was four years old, his parents decide to move to the village of Delgey, in the Republic of Sakha, Yakutia. Here the family lived on the banks of the Lena River.

The boy's father was in charge of forestry, his mother worked as an accountant. Before the war, the Gorozia family had a house in the city of Sukhumi. At that time, parents were educated in Krasnoyarsk, and their child often stayed with their grandparents, who, in fact, raised their beloved grandson.

On September 7, 1990, Levan had a younger brother, Merabi. As the future performer recalls: “I remember how, before the arrival of my younger brother from the hospital with my mother, I ran around the house like a top and tidied up. I wanted Mer to come to a clean house. My father brought my mother and brother, and in an instant I realized that he has already become a senior with all the ensuing moments ... "

In 1991, our hero went to first grade. Gorozia admits that he was a sports teenager, passed the TRP standards perfectly. Until the ninth grade, he studied for fives and fours.

When the son finished primary school, the family moved to permanent residence in Yakutsk. It was then that our hero began to get involved in hip-hop culture, listening to Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Onyx and.

At that time, Levan was playing basketball, playing in the national team of the republic at number 12. It was this sport that played an important role in the life of our hero - he instilled in the guy the desire to work and win, and also invested the concept of team spirit. But later, due to a knee injury, the young man decides to leave basketball activities.

Deciding to try his hand, L'One goes to Moscow with his friend.

There, the future rapper enters the faculty of journalism of the capital's university, and after two courses he is transferred to the correspondence department, since he forms the "Marselle" group together with Nel. With the hope of promoting the project, Levan gets a job at one of the radio stations, at the same time earns money by writing scripts for corporate parties.

Since 2008, the Marseille group has been releasing its first major releases, including one full-length studio album and four mixtapes. The hit was the song "Moscow", the video for which was released only in 2011, the release of which was sponsored by Timur Bekmambetov, making the composition the soundtrack to the film "Phantom".

Even more popularity comes to Gorozia due to participation in the TV show "Battle for Respect", which was on the Muz-TV channel in 2008.

In 2011, Marselle first leaves the Phlatline agency, and then ceases to exist altogether. L'One begins independent promotion in the music world and becomes a member of the Black Star label.

In April 2012, on a new label, he releases a video clip for the song "#Everything will be". Several more works followed.
