13.06.2019

On September 4, the Museum of Modern Ethnic Art of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve launched the third stage of the all-Russian project "Meeting Place with Art", organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO".

The guests were greeted by Lyudmila Rybakova, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Yelabuga Municipal District for Social Affairs, Gulzada Rudenko, General Director of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve, Lali Gegechkori, Project Coordinator, and Ildar Mustafin, Head of the Yelabuga branch of Russian Post. The special atmosphere of the ceremony was created by the teachers of the Children's Music School No. A. Bakirova - pianist Tatyana Chekmeneva and violinists Marina Lipatova and Natalia Semyagina.

The task of the federal project "Meeting Place with Art" is to provide an opportunity to meet with art for residents of remote corners of Russia. The organizers aim to use the example of Soviet fine art to help residents of Russian cities learn to understand the works of artists by talking about their work in an accessible language.

The initiative is being implemented with the participation of the Russian Museum, the Institute of Fine Arts of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, the Institute of Art Education and Culturology of the Russian Academy of Education, the Russian Post and the Artek International Children's Center. The project was successfully held in 53 small and medium-sized cities of Russia and continues to march across the country, this year covering 9 more new regional destinations. The duration of the project in Yelabuga will be 19 days: during this time, the exhibition will be open and an educational program for adults and children will be held.

The mobile exhibition fund includes high-precision full-size reproductions of paintings by Soviet masters, telling about turning points in the history of our country: "Meeting of the Heroic Crew" by Pyotr Maltsev, "Defense of Sevastopol" by Alexander Deineka, "After the Battle" by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, "Installation of the Workshop" by Pyotr Williams, "Letter from the Front" by Alexander Laktionov, "Women Radio Operators" by Maria Bri-Bain. The reproductions were created in St. Petersburg specifically for the project - the image was applied to a primed canvas using a unique technology, observing color nuances and preserving the texture of a painterly stroke. To recreate one work, up to 40 accurate shots of each painting were taken.

Alexandra Grebennikova, a student of the Institute of Fine Arts of the Moscow Pedagogical State University, will act as a consultant-guide for the exhibition. She will conduct interactive tours, show video lectures recorded for the project by art historians of the Russian Museum, thereby immersing the viewer in the socio-historical context of the creation of works.

Young participants of the project are waiting for the inter-regional drawing competition "My picture speaks". A unique program of master classes has been developed: children are invited to write a short essay-explanation for the future picture, and then convey their story in the form of an artistic image. The finalists, like last year, will go to thematic shifts at Artek, and the result of the competition will be an exhibition of winning projects in Moscow.

20.10.2016 Educational project "Meeting place with art"

On October 20, 2016, a large-scale all-Russian project "Meeting Place with Art" is launched in Yalta. It is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO" with the participation of the Russian Museum, Moscow State Pedagogical University, the Institute of Art Education and culturologists of the Russian Academy of Education and the Russian Post. For nine months, starting from April, residents of 29 small and medium-sized Russian towns get acquainted with reproductions of the most significant works of artists of the 1920s and 1940s. Yalta is already the twenty-fourth city of this project a.

The goal of the project "Meeting Place with Art" is to teach residents of the most remote cities of Russia, from Yalta to Komsomolsk-on-Amur, to "read" and understand the works of artists, to tell about their work in an accessible language, using the example of Soviet fine art.

The mobile fund includes reproductions of textbook paintings by Soviet masters: Morning Exercise (1932) and Expanse (1944) by Alexander Deineka, After the Battle (1923) and Spring (1935) by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Letter from the Front "(1947) Alexander Laktionov, "Alexander Nevsky" (1942) Pavel Korin, "Women Radio Operators" (1930) Maria Brie-Bain. These works can be classified into four sections. "History" includes replicas of paintings from the first half of the 20th century, revealing the theme of heroic modernity or recent events - revolution, civil war; the section devoted to the theme of the Great Patriotic War shows the iconic images of people created during this period and familiar from the legendary military exhibitions of 1942-1943; the third is dedicated to the working man; the fourth is rest.

Leading specialists from ROSIZO and the Russian Museum, together with students of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, prepared an educational program for the visitors of the project. Free interactive tours, adapted for schoolchildren and students, pensioners and children from orphanages, teach to understand the artistic problems of the 1920-1940s, analyze the features of style and plot, color and composition, interpret various details in the context of the key events of the era and the personality of the artist, feel the mood of the time, find secret meanings in scenes of military heroism, labor exploits, sporting achievements and solitary serenity.

On excursions from the best students of Moscow State Pedagogical University - future teachers of fine arts - visitors will learn that Marshal Voroshilov was a close friend of Isaac Brodsky and offered the artist a completely non-heroic subject for his own portrait - skiing in a forest near Moscow, Mikhail Grekov found a sufficient portion of optimism, light and freshness for the painting "Trumpeters of the First Cavalry" in the air of the Crimean spring, and Pyotr Konchalovsky caused a terrible scandal by painting a portrait of Alexei Tolstoy - during the heyday of "proletarian culture" he ventured to emphasize the connection of the "red count" with the classics of pre-revolutionary Russia, putting a rare bottle for vodka, marked with the date "1799" - the year of Pushkin's birth.

As part of the project, Yalta residents will be shown video lectures on works of art of the 1920s and 1940s by specialists from the Russian Museum.

Young participants of the project - adolescents aged 10-12 and 13-15 years old - are waiting for the interregional drawing competition "My Picture". For both age groups, MPGU specialists have developed a unique program of master classes: children are invited to write a short essay - an explanation for the future picture, and then convey their story in the form of an artistic image. “As part of the competition, we help to master the basic skills: how to make the painting “speak” and the viewer “hear” exactly what the artist intended,” says Lyudmila Maltseva, the author of the master classes.

The finalists will go to an exhibition in Moscow in December. The result of the competition will be an exhibition of winning projects, which will also feature drawings by children of the 19th century.

The large-scale project is supported by the federal postal operator - Russian Post. The length of the route is more than 45,000 kilometers, 20 railway cars and more than 35 vehicles are involved in the transportation process to deliver works to the regions of Russia, the total weight of which will be more than one and a half tons.

The large-scale project is being implemented with the participation of the Russian Museum, the Moscow State Pedagogical University, the Institute of Art Education and culturologists of the Russian Academy of Education and the Russian Post. Since April 2016, residents of Russian cities have been getting acquainted with the key works of Alexander Deineka and Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Alexander Laktionov and other Soviet artists of the 1920s and 40s.

The goal of the "Meeting Place with Art" project is to provide an opportunity to meet with art to residents of remote corners of Russia, who cannot visit the country's leading museums due to geographical remoteness, and where, due to the peculiarities of transportation and exhibition, masterpieces of painting cannot reach. The organizers aim to provide worthy cultural leisure for Russians from Yalta to Leninsk-Kuznetsk, and, using the example of Soviet fine art, to teach residents of Russian cities to understand the works of artists, talking about their work in an accessible language.

The mobile exhibition fund includes high-precision full-size copies of paintings by Soviet masters, whose textbook works tell about turning points in the history of our country: “Meeting of the Heroic Crew” by Pyotr Maltsev, “Defense of Sevastopol” (1942) by Alexander Deineka, “After the Battle” (1923) by Kuzma Petrova-Vodkina, "Installation of the workshop" (1932) by Peter Williams, "Letter from the front" (1947) by Alexander Laktionov, "Alexander Nevsky" (1942) by Pavel Korin, "Women radio operators" (1930) by Maria Brie-Bain. To do this, up to 40 accurate pictures of each work were taken.

The educational project is not only a meeting place with art, but also a meeting place with history. After all, the presented works can be “read” and clearly seen only through the prism of historical facts from the life of the country, turning points in its history. If the viewer is not familiar with them, the paintings are silent and keep their secrets. The task of the "Meeting Places with Art" team is to provide the key to understanding historically important works and the opportunity to see them with a fresh look, outside of boring patterns and stereotypes.

The best students of the Institute of Arts of the Moscow Pedagogical State University, future professionals in the field of culture, will conduct interactive tours based on materials prepared by ROSIZO specialists. The exhibitions will daily show video lectures recorded for the project by art critics of the Russian Museum in order to immerse the viewer in the socio-historical context of the creation of works.

The young participants of the project - adolescents aged 10-12 and 13-15 years old - are again waiting for the interregional drawing competition "My Picture". The duration of the project will be 17 days: during this time there will be an exhibition and an educational program for children and adults.

Why is it that in the painting about the world's first transcontinental flight by Valery Chkalov "Meeting the Heroic Crew" the pioneers do not have childishly grown-up faces? According to the country's leadership, even on this day, "the whole country did an aerobatics figure," which is why the artist's tone was so severe.
