"Star Factory" is the Russian version of the successful television project of the TV company "Endemol"(English Endemol) "Academy of Stars" (English Star Academy). The idea of the project belongs to the Spanish company Gestmusic, which is a branch of the company "Endemol". However, the first country to start broadcasting the project on October 20, 2001 was France. Two days after the program aired in France, a show called "Operation Triumph" (Spanish: Operación Triunfo) aired in Spain.
From that moment on, the show began to spread around the world, including in Russia in 2002. Currently, the Academy of Stars ranks second in popularity after the Big Brother show, the project has gained recognition in the markets not only in Europe, but also in India, the Arab countries and the United States.
Rules
Before the start of the project, a casting takes place, during which the jury of the Star Factory looks through several thousand applicants. When choosing participants, vocal data, appearance, plasticity, artistry are taken into account. As a result, several people get into the project (season 1, 6 - 17 people; season 2.3 - 16 people; season 4.5 - 18 people). In the seventh season of the project, 14 people initially passed, and two more participants (a boy and a girl) were chosen by an audience of six applicants at the first reporting concert.
The guys are settled in the "Star House", where everything that happens around the clock is filmed with hidden cameras (an idea, again borrowed from the Big Brother show). Participants are not allowed to have mobile phones and musical equipment. Also, under the terms of the project, they are prohibited from responding to letters from fans. Every day, project participants must attend classes in choreography, vocals, acting, fitness, psychology and other disciplines. In addition to the main classes, special master classes are held, where the children are taught the basics of mastery by the stars of Russian and world show business. Also, the duties of the participants, in addition to attending classes, include keeping order in the house and cooking. In the seventh season of the project, the participants had to earn money themselves by preparing and conducting independent performances at the concert venue in front of the Star House.
During the week, the First Channel airs the Star House Diaries and once a week (usually on Friday or Saturday evening) - a reporting concert, where the guys show the numbers prepared by them during the week. Usually, Russian pop stars are invited to the reporting concerts, with whom the project participants have the opportunity to sing.
Every Monday, the Pedagogical Council of the Star Factory determines three nominees for elimination from the project. Their selection is based on the teachers' assessment of the creative growth of each of the participants, as well as the results of their performances at concerts. The fate of the nominees is decided during the reporting concerts. One of the nominees is "rescued" by the audience. The first channel through sms-voting, the second is left in the project by comrades, and the third leaves the Star House forever. True, there were precedents when the artistic director or music producer left the retiring participant in the project. The winner of the project receives a recording contract or other similar prize. The project lasts about 3 months.

16 years ago, the Star Factory project was released on television. Its participants - unknown and young performers - became stars. Almost every teenager had cassettes and CDs with their songs.
From the "Factory" began the popularity of many artists who successfully perform to this day. Polina Gagarina, Elena Temnikova, Timati, Fabrika group, Stas Piekha, Rita Dakota, Irina Dubtsova, Victoria Daineko, Natalya Podolskaya, Dmitry Koldun are all graduates of the TV project.

The first "Star Factory" by Igor Matvienko began in 2002.
In total there were seven seasons of the project with different mentors. In 2011, the show returned under the name "Star Factory: Return", where not debutants took part, but performers who began their creative careers on the project in past seasons.

Marina Tretyakova was born in Gomel, where she graduated from the music school and the Sokolovsky College with a degree in Choral Conducting, then – conservatory. It was there that fate prepared the first real trials for her: non-stop work in the musical and drama theater and merciless poverty. The second "factory" was headed by, for which that year turned out to be especially shocking in terms of both his own and third-party projects ("",). In post-factory interviews, Maxim Alexandrovich said that on he agreed to the offer to participate in such an odious project, in fact, under pressure, for a long time the maestro ran around "all sorts of Gnesinka" in search of talent, but could not find the layer of young people that would satisfy him.Despite the difficulties with the selection of participants, Maxim Fadeev nevertheless found the solution that suited both him and the authorities of Channel One. Elena Temnikova and Yulia Savicheva - the singers, as reported, who passed the casting, were actually introduced to "Star Factory 2" not by chance. Both girls are from Kurgan, but as you know, Mr. Fadeev himself is from there. Later, Maxim admitted that he swore to "help" when she was still quite a baby. Soon, the music lovers found out that Savicheva really revolved in "Fadeev" circles from childhood. In particular, samples of her "baby talk" have been included in some . Of course, already within the framework of the project, they tried to present Savicheva in a more favorable light, but this was not done at the expense of other participants, each of whom had his own talent.
Of course, by the end of the project, there was a league of "debutants", in the future of which, as it seemed from the outside, Fadeev willingly believed. It started very brightly, which, thanks to its outstanding appearance and signature accent, became one of the most rotated artists of the second "factory". The songs "Chocolate Bunny", "Kiss-Kiss" and "100 Pirates" were on time; the singer gave the audience, as they would say now, a solid positive. He did not lag behind his colleague and, who, as it turned out later, was not a novice in show business. So, in 1998 he took part in. At the "second factory" Irakli showed himself as a bold and more savvy artist in the undercover games of the show party, and ordinary listeners remembered the powerful hits "Vova-plague" and "Close your eyes with your hand." Also, Elena Terleeva, Maria Rzhevskaya, Elena Temnikova, Evgenia Rasskazova, Christian Leinich and Alexei Semyonov showed themselves quite well, while the other participants were less interesting to Mr. Fadeev. True, it is worth paying tribute to the composer; to all his "students" without exception, he tried to make beautiful and unusual songs, however, in the future, the producer did not provide moral and financial support to each of them. Since the Star Factory project was a novelty, it was almost necessary to bring participants to the casting by force. Many were treated with distrust, auditions were held even in music schools.
"Star Factory" Year 2003
In 2003, at the peak of the popularity of the first show, two "Star Factory" came out in a row. The producer of the second was Max Fadeev. Under his wing, Yulia Savicheva, Irakly Pirtskhalava, Pierre Narcissus, Elena Temnikova, Elena Terleeva and the winner of the second season, Polina Gagarina, who soon left Fadeev and spent a long time on her own, entered the stage.
The producer of the third season was Alexander Shulgin, Valeria's mentor and husband. The winner of the third "Factory" Nikita Malinin did not stay long at the pinnacle of fame and quickly faded into the shadows. The factory "KGB" and "Tootsi" disintegrated. In solo swimming, only Yulia Mikhalchik, Alexander Kireev, Svetlana Svetikova and Irina Ortman continue to hold on.
"Star Factory". Year 2004
In 2004, two factories also came out. The head of the fourth was Igor Krutoy. It was he who gave a start in life to such performers as Irina Dubtsova (winner), Dominic Joker, Stas Piekha, Timati and others.
The fifth "Factory" was, one might say, triumphant. Not only was Alla Pugacheva herself her artistic director, but there were also two producers - Max Fadeev and Igor Matvienko. Victoria Daineko won the first place, Ruslan Masyukov took the second place, Natalia Podolskaya and Mikhail Veselov shared the third place. In addition, well-known and working graduates of the "fifth convocation" - Alexandra Balakireva (group "KuBa"), Yuliana Karaulova (group 5sta family), Elena Kukarskaya, Irson Kudikova, etc.
"Star Factory-4" was first dubbed the "Celebrity Children's Factory" - the grandson of Edita Piekha, the daughter of Vladimir Kuzmin independently passed the casting and added intrigue to the project.
"Star Factory - 6"
After a short break in 2006, the sixth "Factory" was released under the direction of Viktor Drobysh. The winner was Dmitry Koldun, who represented Belarus in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest 2007. In addition, the well-known graduates of this season are the Chelsea group, Zara and others.
"Star Factory - 7"
In 2007, the last "Star Factory" was released, giving us new stars. This time, the Meladze brothers led it. The winner of the project was Anastasia Prikhodko, the second place was taken by Mark Tishman, the third place was taken by two groups - "BiS" and "Yin-Yang", the latter soon broke up.

In 2011, the show “Star Factory. Return". Well-known graduates of all factories, except for the second and third, took part in it. Of the twelve participants, Victoria Daineko, a pupil of Igor Matvienko, won.
In the summer of 2012, a new “factory” project was released, where graduates of Russian and Ukrainian shows competed with each other. Russia was represented by Dmitry Koldun, Polina Gagarina, Vlad Sokolovsky, Joker and Victoria Daineko. From Ukraine - "DIO films", Max Barskikh, Erika, Eva Bushmina and Stas Shurins.
