Story

The Ufa State Academy of Arts named after Zagir Ismagilov was opened in 1968 on the basis of the educational and consulting center of the State Musical and Pedagogical Institute named after V.I. Gnesins (now the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music). The building of the academy is located in the old part of the city and is located in the building of the former noble assembly, built in the classicist style according to the project of the architect Gopius.

Initially, two faculties were organized at the institute - music and theater, and 5 multidisciplinary departments - piano and orchestral instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass), choral conducting and folk instruments, history, music theory and composition, directing and acting skills, humanitarian disciplines.

In 1969, the vocal department was opened, in 1978 - the department of wind and percussion instruments. In 1973, permission was received from the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR to open an art department.
