Mysterious stories about the Bermuda Triangle. Underwater Bermuda Triangle

20.09.2019

The Bermuda Triangle is the most famous frightening anomalous zone in the wide waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The same terrible place exists in the Pacific Ocean, but it is called the Devil's. Where the Bermuda Triangle is located, at any time of the year, day and night, ships and aircraft have been disappearing for more than a hundred years. To avoid a mystical catastrophe for ships and planes, they change their route, trying to go around this water gap.

Data

  • For the first time, Christopher Columbus encountered the anomalies of the water triangle. While his ship sailed through this area, for some unknown reason, the compasses failed, and the sea lit up strangely.
  • Most of the missing ships and planes have not been found to this day.
  • Several cases of the loss of the crew were recorded, while the ship remained intact: all things were in their places, no traces of the storm were found.
  • At the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle is a huge sunken city. According to researchers, this is ancient Atlantis.
  • Lights that look like aliens are often seen in the sky above the mysterious place. After their disappearance, large funnels form in the water.
  • Unpredictable severe storms occur in the zone.
  • Huge rogue waves in the Bermuda area become a frequent cause of disasters.

  • Bermuda Triangle on the world map

This zone is located near the coast of North America. Or rather, between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Miami. The triangle captures two climatic zones. The wide part refers to the tropics, and the upper corner refers to the subtropics. These points, connected by straight lines, create a space in the form of a triangle with an area of almost 4 million square meters. km.

Many try not to fall into the zone of anomaly and make their way around. But in order to avoid a collision with the unknown, you need to know exactly where the Bermuda Triangle is located - on the world map, all the indicated coordinates of the disappearances create lines that form a conditional rhombus, more like a triangle. It turns out that the missing area is a little larger. This fact must also be taken into account.

Why is everything disappearing in the Bermuda Triangle?

Researchers have been trying to decipher the disappearances for many years, thereby proving that talk of the Bermuda Triangle is greatly exaggerated. Air and surface ships are disappearing all over the world, and underwater searches are a very difficult process. In the Bermuda Triangle area, water movement is very fast, caused by strong currents, frequent storms and cyclones. Accordingly, there are much more accidents in this place than in others.

Scientists have put forward a number of theories to explain why everything disappears in the Bermuda Triangle:

  • Magnetic radiation. The divergence of tectonic rocks causes the strongest electromagnetic waves, which tend to affect the human psyche and change the readings of electrical appliances. As a result, aircraft and watercraft lose their orientation and go astray.
  • Methane emissions. Huge bubbles filled with gas appear in the Bermuda region. A break in the earth's crust in this place releases the substance thrown out. The minimum air density inside the bubble does not allow ships to stay afloat, once in this zone, the ship instantly sinks, at best, the engine stops.
  • Change of space. Periodic spatio-temporal curvature at the moment of the vessel's movement, as it were, throws it into another dimension. That is why the circumstances of disappearing objects are considered mystical. Those who have managed to return from another space note disorientation, dizziness, weakness, and the clock lags as much in time as the journey in another dimension continued.
  • infrasound. Strong water movements during cyclones create ultrasound that affects the human psyche. The crew falls into a panic, does not control the movement, leading to a disaster.
  • Bermuda Triangle- the legendary region of the Atlantic Ocean between Puerto Rico, Florida and Bermuda, in which, according to many researchers, many inexplicable phenomena occur. Indeed, drifting ships were found here quite often, both with dead crews and without them. There have also been fixed disappearances of planes and ships, failure of navigation instruments, radio transmitters, clocks, etc. The English researcher Lawrence D. Kusche collected and analyzed in chronological order more than 50 cases of the disappearance of ships and aircraft in the area and came to the conclusion that the legend of the "triangle" is nothing more than an artificially fabricated hoax, which I twisted the result of carelessly conducted research, and then it was finalized by authors who are fond of sensations. The same point of view was held by the Soviet academician L.M. Brekhovskikh and many other researchers. In favor of such an “official” point of view, it can be added that in reality there are not so many catastrophes in the “terrible” place, a huge amount of air and sea traffic passes through this region of the Atlantic.

The “ordinary” mysterious disappearances were no longer enough for lovers of sensations, therefore, postscripts, omissions and simply deceit (in some cases this has been completely proven) were used, as a result of which ships that drowned either for quite trivial reasons were among the victims of the triangle (Japanese ship " Raifuku Maru, around which legends arose, in 1924 crashed in front of another steamer precisely because of a severe storm; the three-masted schooner Star of Peace was sent to the bottom by an exploding diesel engine in the blink of an eye), or far from the Bermuda area (German the barque Freya in 1902 was “transferred” by the press from the Pacific Ocean due to an accidental coincidence in the names of the area; the trimaran Teignmouth Electron in 1989 was indeed abandoned by the crew, but not reaching 1800 miles to the “triangle”), or not even ships at all (the erroneous alarm, for example, was raised twice because of the half-flooded buoys set by Akademik Kurchatov in 1978).

Real, recorded cases of ship disappearances are hardly more than 10-15% of what was reported in sensational newspaper publications. Nevertheless, in the investigation of these particular cases from the “gold reserve” of bermudologists, the supporters of the “official point of view also did not show a truly scientific approach, and in the 13th book of the same L. Kusche one can find a number of frauds and reticences precisely in cases with the most mysterious incidents.

A number of researchers who do not agree with this position point primarily to events that have not received an unambiguous clear explanation. Here is the sudden disappearance, and then the appearance 10 minutes later on the radar screen of an aircraft in the Miami area, and the luminous "white waters" in the Sargasso Sea, and the sudden failure of the most reliable equipment, and the ships suddenly abandoned by the crews, which are in good condition. Of course, among this part of scientists there is no unambiguous solution to all the questions posed by the “triangle”. For example, Academician V.V. Shuleikin explains the fact of ships abandoned by the crews by infrasonic vibrations generated in the water, under the influence of these infrasonic waves, crew members can fall into a state of panic and leave the ship. But there are at least two dozen more hypotheses that explain the same fact: from versions with the abduction of people by aliens with UFOs to assumptions about the involvement of the mafia in this disappearance.

The most mysterious so far is the story of the disappearance of 6 aircraft, which occurred on the evening of December 5, 1945.

At 14.10, five Avenger aircraft with 14 pilots took off, reached the training target in the ocean, and at about 15.30-15.40 lay down on a return course to the southwest.

At 15.45 (just a few minutes after the last turn) at the command post of the air base Fort Lauderdale received the first strange message: “We have an emergency situation. Obviously, they've gone off course. We do not see the earth, I repeat, we do not see the earth.”

The dispatcher made a request for their coordinates. The answer greatly puzzled all the officers present: “We cannot determine our location. We don't know where we are now. We seem to be lost!” It was as if not an experienced pilot was speaking into the microphone, but a bewildered novice who had no idea about navigation over the sea! In this situation, the representatives of the air base made the only right decision: “Keep heading west!”

Airplanes will not slip past the long coast of Florida. But… “We don't know where the west is. Nothing works... Strange... We can't determine the direction. Even the ocean doesn't look like it usually does!..“ From the ground, they try to give the squadron target designation, but due to the sharply increased atmospheric interference, these advices, apparently, were not heard. The controllers themselves had difficulty picking up fragments of the radio conversations between the pilots: “We don’t know where we are. It must be 225 miles northeast of the base… It looks like we…”

At 4:45 pm, a strange message arrives from Taylor: "We are over the Gulf of Mexico." Ground controller Don Pool decided that the pilots were either embarrassed or crazy, the indicated place was on the completely opposite side of the horizon!

At 17.00 it became clear that the pilots were on the verge of a nervous breakdown, one of them shouted over the air: “Damn it, if we flew west, we would have got home!” Then Taylor's voice: “Our home is in the northeast ... “The first fright soon passed somewhat, some islands were noticed from the planes. “Under me is the earth, the terrain is rugged. I'm sure it's Kees…"

Ground services also located the missing, and there was hope that Taylor would restore orientation ... But everything turned out to be in vain. Darkness has come. The planes that took off in search of a link returned with nothing (another plane disappeared during the search) ...

Taylor's most recent words are still in dispute. Radio amateurs were able to hear: “It seems that we are sort of ... we are sinking into white waters ... we are completely lost ...” According to the reporter and writer A. Ford, in 1974, 29 years later, one radio amateur shared this information: supposedly the last words of the commander were : “Don’t follow me… They look like people from the Universe…” [“Abroad”, 1975, No. 45, p. 18]. In my opinion, the last phrase was probably invented or interpreted later: before 1948 people would have used in such a situation the expression “immigrants from Mars.” Even at a meeting of the Commission to investigate this incident, they subsequently dropped the phrase: “They disappeared as irrevocably as if they had flown to Mars!” It is unlikely that Taylor would have used the little-used word "Universe", especially since even science fiction writers did not think about aliens from there ...

So, the first and indisputable conclusion that follows from listening to radio recordings is that the pilots encountered something unusual and strange in the air. This fateful meeting was the first not only for them, but they probably did not hear about such a thing from their colleagues and friends. Only this can explain the strange disorientation and panic in a normal regular situation. The ocean has a strange look, “white water” has appeared, the arrows of the instruments are dancing - you must admit that this list can frighten anyone, but not experienced naval pilots, who must have already found the right course over the sea in extreme conditions. Moreover, they had a great opportunity to return to the coast: it was enough to turn to the west, and then the planes would never have flown past the huge peninsula.

This is where we come to the root cause of the panic. The bomber link, in full accordance with common sense and on recommendations from the ground, searched for land only in the west for about an hour and a half, then for about an hour - alternately in the west and east. And didn't find it. The fact that an entire American state has disappeared without a trace can drive even the most persistent of minds.

In fairness, it must be said that at the end of their flight they saw the land, but did not dare to splash down nearby in shallow water. Visually, from the outlines of the islands, Taylor determined that he was above the Florida Keys (southwest of the southern tip of Florida) and at first even turned northeast towards Florida. But soon, under the influence of colleagues, he doubted what he saw and returned to his previous course, as if he were much east of Florida, i.e. where it should be and where it was located by ground-based radar installations.

But where were they really? On the ground, the crew's report of Kees' sighting was taken as the ravings of panicked pilots. The direction finders could be wrong by exactly 180 degrees and this property was taken into account, but at that moment the operators knew that the planes were somewhere in the Atlantic (30 degrees N, 79 degrees W) north of the Bahamas and they were just in it could not occur to me that the missing link was in fact already much to the west, in the Gulf of Mexico. If so, then Taylor may have been seeing the actual Florida Keys, and not "like the Florida Keys."

Perhaps the DF operators in Miami were unable to distinguish signals coming from the southwest from those coming from the northeast. The mistake cost the pilots their lives: apparently, having searched in vain for land in the west and having used up all the fuel, they landed on the water and sank, while they themselves were searched in vain in the east ... In 1987, it was there, on the shelf bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, that one of the "Avengers" built in the forties! ["Pravda", 1987, March 2]. It is possible that the other 4 are also somewhere nearby. It remains to ask the question: how could the planes move seven hundred kilometers to the west unnoticed by everyone?

Cases of, if not instantaneous, then ultra-fast movements of aircraft are already known to aviation historians. During the Second World War, a Soviet bomber, returning from a mission, slipped over an airfield in the Moscow region for more than a thousand kilometers and landed in the Urals ... fields of view”… These and many other similar cases are united by the fact that ultra-fast flights were always made in strange clouds (white fog, some kind of haze, sparkling haze). It is precisely in these terms that eyewitnesses reward another strange phenomenon in which there is a rapid movement in time; for example, after walking for half an hour or an hour in the “strange white fog” on the island of Barsakelmes in the Aral Sea, the travelers returned a day later.

And in the Bermuda Triangle itself, “white fog” is not such a rare guest. After meeting with him, one day an airliner approaching Miami disappeared from the locator screens ... and when it reappeared 10 minutes later, all the clocks on board were behind by the same minutes. On that flight, none of the passengers noticed anything unusual; it is possible that a sudden increase in speed due to “tricks” over time will also be imperceptible to the eyes. At the same time, apart from the notorious fog and post-flight checking of chronometers, pilots should notice the dance of the arrows on some instruments, and even interruptions in radio communications (you have to talk to the ground - a place where the usual course of time does not coincide with the anomalous “heavenly”). Recall that it was after the Avenger pilots mentioned that a strange fog had appeared and that five compasses had failed at once, radio contact with them disappeared and was subsequently restored only occasionally.

Such anomalous places occasionally arise also because the course of physical time is influenced to some extent by all bodies moving in a circle. This effect, as follows from the experiments of Professor Nikolai Kozyrev, can be achieved on a very small scale even with the help of tiny flywheels. What can we say about the Bermuda region in the Atlantic, where the powerful Gulf Stream swirls water eddies hundreds of kilometers in diameter! (It is precisely these formations that sometimes become visible on the surface of the ocean in the form of white or even faintly luminous circles and "wheels".) Whirlwinds are twisting - time changes - gravity must also change. In the center of the vortex (where American satellites recorded the water level 25-30 meters below normal) gravity is increased, and at the periphery it is reduced. Is it not the cause of many shipwrecks that the cargoes in the hold suddenly increase in weight? With non-uniform loading and exceeding the safety margin of the hull, a catastrophe is almost inevitable! To complete the tragic picture, we must add to this the unreliability of radio communications in such places ...

Of course, after the first reports of the Bermuda "tricks" over time, new chilling, but not always true, details began to appear in the press ... Not so long ago, the American weekly "News" told about an amazing incident with an American submarine that sailed in the 200 feet (70 m) deep. Once the sailors heard a strange noise overboard and felt a vibration that lasted about a minute. Following this, it was noticed that the people in the team allegedly aged very quickly. And after surfacing with the help of a satellite navigation system, it turned out that the submarine was in the Indian Ocean, 300 miles from the east coast of Africa and 10 thousand miles from Bermuda! Well, why not a repetition with the movement of technical devices, only not in the air, but in the water? True, it is too early to draw conclusions in this story: the US Navy, as before in such cases, does not confirm, but does not refute this information either.

But some conclusions can be drawn in the case of the missing squadron back in 1945. Most likely, in the sky over the Bermuda Triangle, this link collided with a non-stationary nomadic anomalous zone, in which their instruments failed and radio communications went haywire. Then the planes, being in a “strange fog”, moved at a very high speed to the Gulf of Mexico, where the pilots recognized with surprise the local ridge of islands ...

Let's clarify what it means - "at a very high speed." So, an hour and a half after takeoff, the planes fall into a strange fog, where all their instruments fail, INCLUDING THE WATCH. At 16.45, the planes come out of the clouds and restore their orientation (from the reports one can hear that they already trust the compasses). According to the airfield ground clock, 2.5 hours of flight had passed, and there was still 3 hours of fuel left. How much time has passed according to the aircraft clock (out of order) - it's hard to say. It is unlikely that pilots could answer this question correctly either: in extreme situations, time perception differs sharply from the usual one. Only one mechanism can give us an answer - these are aircraft engines, they were the only ones that continued to work normally in the anomalous zone! So, at 5:22 p.m., Taylor announced, "When anyone has 10 gallons [38 liters] of fuel left, we're splashing!" Judging by the phrase, the fuel was indeed coming to an end. Apparently, soon the planes splashed down because at 18.02 on the ground they heard the phrase: "... It can drown at any moment ..." This means that the fuel in the torpedo bombers ran out between 17.22 and 18.02, while it should have been enough until 19.40, and taking into account the emergency stock - until 19.50. Such a sharp discrepancy can only be explained by one thing: the engines burned fuel for 2 hours more than previously thought!

Here it is, the missing link in the chain of clues! While only one hour passed on the ground, about three flew by in a white fog!!! The speed of the planes was normal all this time, but for a hypothetical outside observer, it would seem to be 3 times faster! Probably, during these 3 hours of their own time, the torpedo bombers, alas, slipped through the Florida ledge with their home base and ended up in the Gulf of Mexico. The pilots were still not completely out of the tenacious paws of a very thinned fog, when a ridge of islands appeared under the wings ...

You know the rest. Taylor, of course, was able to recognize the islands over which he flew dozens of times. But ... did not believe their "miraculous" appearance and, at the insistence of the air base, again took a westerly course. (Now the “strange fog” had already passed, and the flight took place in normal time.) He believed an hour later and turned back, but the inexperienced advice of the controllers, who said: “You are just flying up to Florida” - completely confused him ... In the end In the end, the lieutenant’s uncertainty ruined the link: he feverishly changed direction several times, following either to the northeast at a course of 30 degrees, then to the east (90), then, at the request of the dispatchers, to the west (270). Fuel shortage prompted to make the final choice. Taylor played toss, and... Death won. The bombers, once again almost reaching the saving mainland, made their last turn and left on a course of 270 degrees ... Away from land ...

... The friends of the missing pilots still cannot understand why Lieutenant Taylor ordered, and his subordinates (among whom were more senior in rank) landed on a rough sea, while they could search for land for another two hours! .. Landing on high waves left little chance of escape, and yet, Taylor's subordinates follow this order without hesitation, although they had just cursed loudly and argued with their commander about the course. The only way the pilots could carry out a suicide landing was knowing that they were really running out of fuel. Presumably, at about 19:00, the lieutenant's plane was already at the bottom, radio operators recorded snippets of conversations between other crews, someone tried to call Taylor through the obvious noise of the waves and received no answer. Then the rest of the voices also fell silent ... On the ground, the hope for their return was still preserved, since no one could believe the fact of splashing down. Another hour passed, according to the calculations of the airfield personnel, the pilots were only now running out of emergency fuel, and they were waiting for a miracle ... Finally, 20 hours came, it became clear that the wait was in vain ... The bright lights on the landing strip, which could be seen for tens of miles, were burning for some more time.

Finally, at 21:00, someone in the control room silently turned the switch... The pilots, of course, were still alive at that moment. Most likely, after the planes went to the bottom, they were in the water in their life jackets. But an overnight storm guaranteed to make the demolition work. The rich experience of maritime disasters suggests that it is most likely that the pilots who were not found by anyone were able to withstand the cold waves until about midnight ...

At midnight, 2500 kilometers from this place in Mount Vernon, New York, Joan Powers and her eighteen-month-old daughter woke up at the same time, as if from a sudden blow. Joan immediately understood the reason for her nightmare and decided to do what she had never done before - call her husband at the airbase. It took about 2 hours to find out the phone number and connect. At exactly 2:00 a.m., the bell rang in Fort Lauderdale. The duty officer who answered the phone turned purple and stuttered: “Don’t worry, but we can’t call your husband, Captain Edward Powers, he is now in flight ...” The man who turned off the lights on the runway 5 hours ago, so and did not dare to pronounce the verdict aloud. Joan learned the truth about her husband only in the morning from the radio news special ...

Perhaps with the same anomalous zone that knocked down Taylor, and Powers, and everyone else, the twin-engine flying boat “Marine Mariner” disappeared without a trace, the same one that fearlessly went in search of the Avengers. The seaplane radio operator's last elephants were about "strong wind at an altitude of 1800 meters" ... Although the reason may be more prosaic, someone in the vicinity of this boat saw a bright flash in the sky. An explosion?.. Together with the crew of the flying boat, the number of victims of the "triangle" that evening amounted to 27 people...

... When the hypothesis described above took on a more or less harmonious shape, it was decided to introduce it to one of the direct participants in those events. The already mentioned Don Poole, at that moment already an 82-year-old lieutenant colonel and retired, lived in Florida. Any answer was expected, but this ... “Everything described may be interesting, but according to you it turns out that the planes fell in the Gulf of Mexico, in fact, they were recently found in the Atlantic, just 10 miles from their home base Fort Lauderdale! Relatives of the victims say that it would be better if they had not found: it is bitter to know that the pilots died literally on the threshold of the house, in one minute of flight! So the topic is closed. First we found 4 planes, then the fifth one was found - with the number 28. It was Taylor's number! Yes, they flew like that: “twenty-eighth” Taylor was ahead, followed by four wingmen ... "This is news! True, it is not at all clear why the 19th link fell into the water in that area, why in this case they were hard to hear on the radio, for 10 miles (18 km) they should have been heard from the next room ... Something was missing in a new solution to the mystery, it was necessary to find out additional details ...

In 1991, the Deep Sea search vessel of the Scientific Sich Project, northeast of Fort Lauderdale, was searching for a sunken Spanish gold galleon. The team on deck joked about the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle, someone cackled, remembering various stories, including those with the missing torpedo bombers. Therefore, when the message “Torpedo bombers are under us” came, everyone took it as a joke. These were 4 Avengers lying in formation at a depth of 250 meters, the fifth with the number 28 was a mile from the rest. The four, as it were, slightly lagged behind the leading "28th" aircraft (one involuntarily recalls the version that Taylor's last words were: "Don't get close, they look like ...").

The archives were immediately raised. It turned out that for all the time in the Atlantic Ocean 139 Avenger-type aircraft fell into the water, but a group of five aircraft went missing only once in December 45th. Skeptics also decided to check: could planes fall into the water from an aircraft carrier in this area? Similar records were not found in the archives either, but soon the need to search for them disappeared, more detailed photographing of the finds proved that the planes were actually landing on the water: their propeller blades were bent and the cockpit lights were open. No bodies were found in the cabins. No one else had any doubts that this was the missing 19th link, especially since there were also letter images “FT” on two sides - this was how the aircraft based at the Fort Lauderdale base were designated. The US government, the Navy and the SSP firm immediately began a legal battle among themselves for ownership of the find, while the relatives of the victims demanded that the planes be left alone. The discoverer of the Avengers, Hawkes, in one of his last interviews, said: “We will swim closer in an underwater vehicle in order to read the numbers. I'm sure they are! We have solved the greatest mystery! But if it turns out that this is not the 19th link, then this means that we have created a new great mystery, because 5 planes cannot so easily gather at the bottom of the ocean! .. "

But the mystery did not yield... A month later, in the summer of 1995, fresh material came to our request... ... were disappointed: two numbers were clearly visible - FT-241, FT-87 and two only partially - 120 and 28. The missing link had numbers: FT-3, FT-28 (Taylor), FT-36, FT-81 , FT-117. Only one number came together, and that one - without a letter designation. The numbers of the planes found at the bottom have not yet been identified, they are not listed among the missing. In most archival records, only the serial number of the machines appears, but since these numbers were recorded on the plywood keel of the Avenger, there is no hope that the number on the planes would be preserved for such a long time.

In short, the mysteries remain open. What planes lie at the bottom of the ocean near Fort Lauderdale, what or who made them come together? And where did the “those” planes go? After the failure in the Atlantic, the captain of the Deep Sea ship categorically refused to go to the Gulf of Mexico in order to read the number of the Avenger previously found there: “I didn’t care about the planes,” he said, “it would be better if we found a Spanish galleon!”

Do you think that a submarine immediately went to the crash site on the instructions of the government?! No, the government “suddenly” lost the power of speech, probably because it turned out that it would not receive money for the 19th link, but would only receive a new painful problem. It is necessary to explain with a smart expression what is almost impossible to explain, but oh, how you don’t want to spend finances on an investigation! In 1996, however, an explanation was found, the official commission found that: 1. At the bottom, not airplanes at all, but mock-ups of airplanes. 2. They were specially placed there in order to work out the bombing from the air.

Only the most gullible believed such official nonsense. The scuba divers must have laughed their heads off. Didn't any of the government bodies read their reports, where they described numbers, open lights, bent propeller blades during landing? None of this could be on mock-targets. If these are mock-ups, then those that themselves flew here “in formation”. And the pilots probably laughed because making bombing targets at a depth of 250 meters is the same as aiming a pistol at a target located behind the Great Wall of China!

Thus ended this strange incident (from which, in fact, the official history of the “triangle” originates), during which all the pilots of the Avengers and the seaplane that flew to the rescue disappeared and so far have not been found ... However, the story itself will never end...

Here are other attempts to explain the bloodthirsty actions of the "triangle". Several dozen different explanations have been put forward:

    A) The reason is in the brains of people: A-1) "Just a fiction." All cases are nothing more than newspaper ducks and fables of travel agency owners ... (This version can explain up to 50-70% of all incidents.)

A-2)"Just a coincidence." All cases are nothing more than coincidences and coincidences ... (This version can explain up to 70-80% of all incidents.)

    B) The reason is underground and at the bottom:B-3)"Underwater earthquakes" (based on the work of the Polish engineer E. Korkhov). Perhaps, as a result of catastrophic displacements of the ocean floor, waves up to 60 m high can arise, capable of instantly swallowing a vessel of any size without leaving any traces. During the drift of the continents for millions of years, colossal caverns formed in the earth's crust, and during an earthquake, the arch of such a cave can collapse. If the cave is under the ocean floor, then water will inevitably pour into it, a strong whirlpool will appear on the surface, which sucks in both water and air ... (This version can explain up to 20-40% of all incidents.)

B-4)"Atlantes". Remaining traces of the activity of the lost civilization of the Atlanteans (whose mainland "was somewhere nearby") ... (This version can explain a number of incidents.)

B-5)"Underwater civilizations". It differs from the version with the Atlanteans only in that the hypothetical underwater inhabitants live and thrive to this day. However, fantasize - so fantasize! Atlantes in the past could become modern underwater inhabitants. In addition, this hypothesis may have a direct connection with the version of aliens ... (This hypothesis can also explain a number of incidents.)

    C) The reason is in the water:

AT 6) "Voice of the Sea" (based on the discovery of 1932 by the famous Soviet hydrologist V. A. Berezkin). This is one of the interesting and even a little romantic hypotheses. Its author, sailing on the Taimyr hydrographic vessel, noticed that if a pilot balloon is kept at a distance of 1-2 cm near the ear in the open sea during an approaching storm, then significant pain is felt in the ears. The study of this phenomenon was carried out by academician V.V. Shuleikin, it was he who gave him the name - "Voice of the Sea." The scientist spoke at the USSR Academy of Sciences with the theory of the occurrence of infrasonic oscillations in the ocean. During storms and strong winds above the sea surface, the flow breaks down on the crests of the waves; when the wind speed is greater than the speed of wave propagation, the air lingers at the crests, forming compression, and rarefaction above the wave soles. The resulting condensation and rarefaction of air propagate in the form of sound vibrations with a frequency of up to 10 Hz. In the air, not only transverse vibrations occur, but also longitudinal ones, the strength of the resulting infrasound is proportional to the square of the wavelength. At a wind speed of 20 m / s, the power of the “voice” can reach 3 W from each meter of the wave front. Under certain conditions, the storm generates infrasound with a power of tens of kW. Moreover, the main radiation of infrasound is approximately in the range of about 6 Hz - the most dangerous for humans. It should be added that the “voice”, propagating at the speed of sound, is significantly ahead of the wind and sea waves, moreover, infrasound is very weakly scattered with distance. In principle, it can propagate without significant attenuation for hundreds and thousands of kilometers, both in air and in water, and the speed of the water wave is several times higher than the speed of the air wave. So - somewhere a storm is raging, and a thousand kilometers from this place the crew of some schooner goes crazy from 6-hertz radiation and rushes in horror into an absolutely calm sea. With fluctuations of the order of 6 hertz, a person experiences a feeling of anxiety, often turning into unaccountable horror; at 7 hertz, paralysis of the heart and nervous system is possible; with fluctuations an order of magnitude higher, the destruction of technical devices is possible. In the process of evolution in man, apparently, a center was formed that is sensitive to infrasonic vibrations, the precursors of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. A complex of reactions that should manifest itself when this center is affected: avoid closed spaces in order not to fall into the blockage; strive to move away from nearby objects that threaten to collapse; run "where your eyes look" in order to get out of the disaster area. And now you can observe a similar reaction in many animals. At the same time, when directly exposed to the body, non-specific reactions occur, such as lethargy, weakness and various disorders, as well as, for example, when irradiated with X-rays, high-frequency radio waves. Man has lost his high sensitivity to infrasonic vibrations, but at high intensity, the ancient protective reaction awakens, blocking the possibilities of conscious behavior. It should be emphasized that fear will not be caused by external images, but will, as it were, “come from within”. The person will have a sensation, a feeling of "something terrible." Depending on the intensity of the infrasonic vibrations, people on the ship will experience varying degrees of panic and inappropriate actions (here it is appropriate to recall Homer's Odyssey). This hypothesis, in principle, sheds light on the disappearance of sailors, putting forward as a reason, for example, mass suicide. (This version can explain up to 30-50% of all incidents.)

AT 7)“Underwater ultrasound” (it differs from the previous version in that the source or, more correctly, the concentrator of the terrible sound is not on the surface, but at the bottom). The storm occurring in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the elephants of the Ukrainian researcher V. Shulga, allegedly generates infrasonic waves, which, reflected from the bottom pits (“reflectors”), are focused in certain areas. The colossal dimensions of the focusing structure suggest the presence of regions where infrasonic vibrations can reach a significant value, which is the reason for the anomalous phenomena occurring here. Infrasound can cause resonant vibrations of ship masts, leading to their breakage (the effect of infrasound on aircraft structural elements can lead to similar consequences). Infrasound can be the cause of the appearance of a rapidly emerging and just as quickly disappearing thick ("like milk") fog over the ocean. Atmospheric moisture condensed during the rarefaction phase may not have time to dissolve in the air during the subsequent compression phase, but at the same time it can “instantly” disappear during several periods of the absence of infrasonic oscillations. (And this version can also explain up to 30-50% of all incidents.)

AT 8)"Countercurrents" (put forward by N. Fomin). It is based on the assumption that under the influence of the northerly wind and oncoming waves in the depths of the ocean, waterfalls several kilometers high and powerful downward currents are born. (This version can explain up to 20-30% of all incidents.)

AT 9)"Hydrodynamic effect" (nominated by G. Zelkin, Candidate of Technical Sciences). Saturated with gas released from the bottom soil (this is a product of tectonic activity), the mass of the hearth breaks away from the bottom and moves to the surface; in this case, an electromagnetic field is induced. Having reached the surface, the gas-liquid volume can rise to a height of several hundred meters. Any ship or aircraft that finds itself in the ejection zone will fall into the abyss; the crew, once in a gas cloud, will surely die. (This version can explain up to 40-50% of all incidents.)

AT 10 O'CLOCK)"Hydrate bottom" is a practically similar version, differing only in the process of release and accumulation of bottom gas. (This version can explain up to 50-60% of all incidents.)

AT 11)"Methane Emissions" (promoted by Alan JAD, a marine geologist at the University of Sunderland). Perhaps the methane flowing from the bottom is to blame. This assumption, in his opinion, explains the mystery of the disappearance of ships and aircraft without a trace. During the explosion, a large amount of methane is in the sea water and the density of the water decreases so many times that not only ships go to the bottom in a matter of seconds, but people who have thrown themselves from the ship in life jackets go to the bottom like a stone. And when methane reaches the surface of the water, it rises into the air and poses a danger to aircraft flying in this place ... (This version can explain up to 10-20% of all accidents.)

AT 12)"Animal Attack" Attacks by giant squids and underwater animals are a reality, but ... not as obvious as horror films present it ... (A number of incidents can be explained by this version.)

B-13)"Monster Attack" But nothing can be reliably said about the behavior of fantastic and legendary (such as extinct plesiosaurs) underwater animals ... (But this version can also explain a number of incidents.)

    D) The reason is in the air:G-14)"Reduced Cohesion" (proposed in 1950 by Canadian Wilbur B. Smith, who led government research on magnetism and gravity in the Bermuda Triangle). It was announced the discovery of zones in the atmosphere with "reduced cohesion". These areas have a diameter, according to Smith, up to 300 m. They tend to rise to great heights and move slowly, disappearing and reappearing elsewhere. The influence of such a zone on the human nervous system is also not excluded. An aircraft that enters a “low grip” zone can easily be destroyed. (This version can explain up to 30-40% of all incidents.)

G-15)"Atmospheric explosion". It is believed that with a complex combination of gravitational, electromagnetic, seismic and acoustic anomalies, the usual picture of the existence of the air environment is distorted; under these conditions, a downdraft can suddenly form, with a speed of up to several hundred meters per second and can lead to the death of any ship or aircraft. (This version can explain up to 30-50% of all incidents.)

G-16)"Reverse tornado" (pushed by A. Pozdnyakov). It is based on reports of giant whirlpools observed in the Bermuda Triangle with a diameter of 150-200 km, a depth of 500 meters, with a rotation speed of up to 0.5 m per second. It is assumed that as a result of the specific distribution of flows in the atmosphere, the so-called “anti-tornado” may arise, in which the air flow rushes not from top to bottom, but from bottom to top. At the same time, a whirlpool appears on the surface of the ocean. According to Pozdnyakov, strong electromagnetic fields arise around the “anti-tornado”, which distort the operation of instruments and compasses. (This version can explain up to 10-30% of all incidents.)

G-17)"Natural Laser" (pushed by K. Anikin). The scientist believes that under certain conditions the Sun can be considered as a source of pumping, the smooth surface of the ocean and the upper layers of the atmosphere - as reflectors of light waves, and moving air currents - as an active medium. Thus, elements of a laser device are allegedly created. The action of such a laser can theoretically lead not only to damage, but also to the evaporation of ships and aircraft. (This version can explain up to 20-40% of all incidents.)

    E) The reason is in physical fields:D-18)"Magnetic anomalies" (pushed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences A. Elkin). It is assumed that the magnetic anomaly periodically occurring here leads to a disruption in the normal operation of instruments, primarily the compass, resulting in a loss of orientation and a significant deviation from the course. Perhaps the remains of the disappeared ships and planes are not found because the search work is being carried out far away. Statistical data show that ships and planes mostly disappear at the moments of full moons and during periods of the greatest value of precessional forces; and the magnetic anomaly occurs due to the movement of ionized magma in the bowels of the earth, caused in turn by lunisolar tides ... (This version can explain up to 30-50% of all incidents.)

D-19)"Ocean electric current" (nominated by E. Alftan, Candidate of Technical Sciences). Increased electrical conductivity is proposed to be the cause of the anomalies in the Bermuda Triangle. This version is supported by sharp changes in depths at the bottom of the ocean, the structure of the bottom and the "thinned" earth's crust in the Puerto Rican Trench. It is assumed that the magnetic anomaly “in combination with the natural electric field that permeates the oceans, generate the movement of large masses of water. The death of people is explained by the impact on the human body of fluctuations in electric and magnetic fields, which are caused by sharp shifts in rocks that block or narrow the conductive sections of the ocean floor.

D-20)"Electric Discharge Energy" (proposed by an employee of the Moscow Region TsNIIMash Alexander Petrovich NEVSKY). In his works, he considered the mechanism of formation of an electric charge on cosmic bodies moving in the Earth's atmosphere and made specific calculations of the magnitude of the potential on such a body relative to the surface of the planet. He argues that at high cosmic velocities for bodies of large sizes, the potentials reach such enormous values that there is a real possibility of breakdown of a many-kilometer gap between the moving body and the earth's surface, and the main part of the energy of the meteorite (due to the physical features of the process) is converted into the energy of an electric discharge explosion (ERV). ). In the Bermuda Triangle, in his opinion, “electromagnetic radiation (EMR) from such a discharge disabled all devices (moreover, it could even hit the electrical power networks of aircraft). After exposure to EMP, after a few tens of seconds, a shock wave from the ERV reached the group of aircraft, which destroyed them ... A. Nevsky did not explain why the planes flew for several hours after the "destructive blow"; even more difficult, according to his theory, is the situation with ships (their design is incomparably more durable). But, says Nevsky, since the ship is a kind of “point” on the surface of the sea, it is natural that under certain conditions “it is a voltage concentrator, leading to a predominant breakdown precisely on it. If a strong discharge strikes the ship, then the ship will practically be destroyed ”... (This version can explain up to 10-20% of all incidents.)

D-21)"Gravity anomaly" (based on the lowering of the ocean level recorded by American astronauts in the central part of the Bermuda Triangle by 25 m relative to the general level of the World Ocean). It is assumed that gravitational perturbations are not constant, and under certain conditions can lead to instantaneous catastrophic drops in the water level, followed by an equally rapid return to the original state. Thus, there is a giant whirlpool that can absorb any ship, and a temporary distortion of the air over this area ("air pocket"), leading to the death of aircraft. (This version can explain up to 30-50% of all incidents.)

    E) The reason is in space:

E-22)"Alien Abductions" The direct intervention of aliens in all known cases of ship abductions is, of course, possible, but it is absolutely fantastic ... (This version can explain a number of incidents.)

E-23)"Alien interference". But a number of ufologists believe that signal equipment may be installed on the seabed, powered by a powerful source of energy, which serves as a beacon for UFOs. It is this equipment that periodically disrupts the operation of navigation devices and has a direct or indirect detrimental effect on the human body. (This version can explain a number of incidents.)

E-24)"Time trap". It is assumed that a space-time trap has been created in the Bermuda Triangle, in which time flows at a different speed. A ship or plane, getting into such an area, ceases to exist in our world and is transferred to the Future, Past, or to the Paraworld [more about this theory - Chernobrov V. "Secrets of Time", M., AST-Olympus, 1999; Chernobrov V. "Secrets and paradoxes of Time", M., Armada, 2001]. So, they say that in 1993, a fishing boat with 3 fishermen, who were considered dead, allegedly disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle; the fishermen showed up a year later and said that during a storm, when their damaged ship began to sink, they were rescued by a ship whose crew was dressed in ancient clothes and spoke Old English. For the fishermen themselves, the incident took a few days. There are many similar (fictitious and non-fictional) stories in which sailing ships, submarines and planes that have fallen from the past appear ... (This version can explain up to 40-60% of all incidents.)

E-25)"Black hole". Such a local gravitational anomaly that sucks in ships (but where is it "based"? and why does it not always "work"?),. (This version can explain up to 20-40% of all incidents.)

E-26)"Non-existent universe" (pushed in 2000 by contactee Leonid RUSAK). According to him, “due to the emerging magnetic disturbances in this area, military aircraft moved into the time interval of the formation of the Non-Existent Universe, where continents, seas and islands have largely different outlines. The transition of the crews of the Avengers was complete: the pilots saw not the water of the Arcturian world off the coast of Florida, but a foggy Substance consisting of single silicon atoms, always present in the water and not disappearing in Otherness ... But when the planes, falling through the whitish fog of silicon, landed on firmament, then it turned out to be the earth that exists in the interval of the Non-existent Universe. But later, as soon as they were under a layer of silicon, they did not begin to be affected by magnetic disturbances and began to move into the time interval of the Arcturian world of Real. It was then that the water of our Arcturian world densely filled the volume occupied by the “whitish fog”, accelerating the outcome of the tragedy ... ”(This version can explain a number of incidents.)

But it is rather difficult to test any of the hypotheses put forward (including the terrible "Voice"); Let us recall that real, recorded cases of ship disappearances are hardly more than 10-15% of what was reported in sensational newspaper publications, and information about these truly inexplicable disappearances is extremely scarce (by definition).

One thing is indisputable and irrefutable - the Bermuda Triangle remains the greatest fear, the greatest miracle, the greatest deceit and the greatest hope for a solution in the history of the study of anomalous zones in the world. The fear of Bermuda is almost entirely invented by the man himself, it has not yet become easier for past and (possibly) future victims ...

    Driving to the Bermuda Triangle:

getting here is both easy and difficult. Just because the conditional borders of the triangle "come close to the resorts of Florida and Cuba (it is enough to take a ticket and soak up the beaches with the warm water of the Bermuda Triangle" caressing your body). It is difficult because it is not known where exactly, at what point in this region of the Atlantic, you need to get in order to become a witness or participant in events that add to the terrible statistics. Maybe, and - fortunately for most.

    Bermuda Triangle. devil's lair

December 5, 1945. A squadron of US Navy Avenger torpedo bombers take off from a base in Fort Lauderdale. Normal training sortie: aircraft must drop training torpedoes on a conditional target. On the shore, they are waiting for confirmation from the Avengers that they are ready to land, but an alarming message arrives: “We have an emergency situation, obviously we have lost our course. We do not see the earth, I repeat, we do not see the earth ... We do not know where the west is, we do not see the Sun! Fog, white fog! Don't follow me! They look like people from the Universe…” Controllers are watching: Avenger pilots are rushing about in search of land. They change course so often that it is impossible to fix their position. Fuel is running out. Two Mariner flying boats are sent to help the torpedo bombers, one of which does not return to the shore ... For what reason did the instruments of five aircraft fail? What mysterious fogs at an altitude of two kilometers hid the Sun from the pilots for three hours? And what kind of people from the universe did Captain Taylor talk about in his last moments of life? There are about a hundred hypotheses with which people are trying to explain the mysterious phenomenon of the Bermuda Triangle. The film "Devil's Lair" will tell only about some of them. And, perhaps, by doing so, it will make a fundamental revolution in the perception of the planet on which we live ...

« Ph'nglui mglvnafh Cthulhu R'lyeh vgah'nagl fhtagn", which means: "Here, in this house, in the city of R'lyeh, the dead Cthulhu sleeps in anticipation of his hour».

Howard Phillips Lovecraft « Call of Cthulhu»

The Bermuda Triangle is a real phenomenon of the 20th century, over the secret of which scientists, as well as ufologists, psychics and representatives of a number of other dubious professions, have been struggling for more than a dozen years. About the sinister place in the Atlantic Ocean, where ships and planes disappear, only a person who spent his whole life in a bunker did not hear. The stories of sailors, residents of nearby areas and some representatives of alternative science, richly seasoned with fantasies, cause an unhealthy chill on the back and forever discourage anyone who had previously planned a holiday somewhere nearby.

There are many versions with the reasons for the loss of vehicles in these waters. Some believe that people and equipment are being abducted by aliens, especially since the version of their existence has been significantly warmed up. Others suggest a government conspiracy, the dominance of pirates, the influence of ghosts and poltergeists, divine intervention, and other conjectures. Scientists are more skeptical, and offer much more mundane versions.

The Bermuda Triangle is, of course, an imaginary line that runs through Florida, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico to form a triangle (some seriously suggest that the Bermuda Triangle can be seen). The ocean in these places is incredibly lively, there are a lot of resorts and remarkable places that attract tourists. Even superstitious captains have to grit their teeth to navigate their ships through the Bermuda Triangle (Devil's Triangle, as some religious people like to call it) to earn a living. However, rumors about the paranormal features of this part of the Atlantic are greatly exaggerated - the vast majority of ships and aircraft overcome this section without any incident. But there is always a chance to go to sea and not return.

It is human nature to exaggerate everything. Both for selfish purposes, and from a lack of understanding of the world around us. However, there is no smoke without fire. The mystery of the Bermuda Triangle really exists, albeit not on the scale that is served in literature and cinema.

    What is the Bermuda Triangle

From unofficial sources, the mysterious disappearances of ships in the Bermuda Triangle area became known in 1840. According to rumors that have survived to this day, then the French ship Rosalie washed up on the shores near Nassau, on which there was no one from the crew, but the ship itself looked completely serviceable. The sails on the ship were raised and everything looked as if the crew of the ship had simply disappeared in an instant. In the 20th century, skeptics refuted this story, but the sediment remained.
The theme of the Bermuda Triangle began to return in the middle of the last century. This was influenced by a number of inexplicable events that occurred in these waters, as well as journalists who, for the sake of beautiful headlines and creativity, called an area of about 4 million square kilometers the place where Atlantis disappeared.

A great influence on public attention to the phenomenon in Bermuda waters was Charles Berlitz, an American writer who published a book with facts about the Bermuda Triangle in 1974. In it, Berlitz collected known cases of mysterious disappearances of vehicles in the area, and also tried to analyze the events and come to their causes. The book became a bestseller not only among the American population, but throughout the world. It was from this moment that the public, which has always been greedy for all sorts of hoaxes, showed interest in the problem of the paranormal area in the Atlantic Ocean.

In fact, the Bermuda Triangle is not really a triangle, no matter how punning it may sound. If you analyze all the missing vehicles in the area using a map, and then connect the lines, you will get more like a rhombus or something similar, so the area does not have strictly defined boundaries. If there is something mystical in this place, then you should not feel safe when you go beyond the triangle.

Known cases of missing vehicles in the Bermuda Triangle

If the problem of the Bermuda Triangle is exaggerated, then not too much. Throughout the 20th century, mysterious events really take place in this area, some of which even scientists are not able to explain until now. At the bottom of the ocean in these places there are many sunken ships, an even greater number of ships and aircraft have not been found. We have tried to collect the most strange disappearances and wrecks of vehicles in the ominous Devil's Triangle.

The disappearance of the Avengers. Link 19

Perhaps one of the most controversial and mystical events associated with the Bermuda Triangle occurred on December 5, 1945. Berlitz wrote about him in his book. On this day, a flight of five Avenger torpedo bombers took off from the naval aviation base in Fort Lauderdale, which were supposed to perform an ordinary training flight. The weather was excellent: calm, clear skies, excellent visibility. 14 experienced pilots (some of them with 2,500 hours of flight time) set out on a standard airbase route to drop bombs on a hypothetical target and return home. But they didn't return.

At 14.10 local time, the torpedo bombers left the base, after which the experts can only judge what happened from the records in the radio logs. An hour and a half after the start of the flight, radio communications were detected at the airbase, in which the squadron pilots were anxiously talking about the fact that the navigation devices had failed, all the compasses had failed, and the link had got lost.

The Fort Lauderdale leadership gave the order to establish contact with Group 19, and after half an hour the rescue unit was able to contact the lead link, Captain Taylor. The commander confirmed that he does not have navigation, and he does not see land under him. For several hours, the planes wandered around the Bermuda Triangle, after which they ran out of fuel and were forced to splash down on the surface of the ocean. After that, all communication with the crews disappeared.

The authorities of the air base immediately sent two Mariner rescue seaplanes to the area of the proposed splashdown of Unit 19, but along different routes. One of them, board No. 49, after reporting that it was arriving in the bearing area of the missing torpedo bombers, suddenly disappeared from the radio. It was not possible to establish contact with him.

At 21:20 local time, the captain of one of the oil tankers in the Bermuda Triangle sent a message to the coast guard that he had seen an explosion in the sky, which later left an oil slick on the water. Under the site of the explosion, the crew of the tanker did not find anything.

The air base headquarters at that moment grabbed his head and ordered the second Mariner to fly to the coordinates of the oil slick indicated by the sailors from the tanker to try to find the wreckage of the rescue aircraft. When board number 32 "Mariner" arrived at the scene, neither the wreckage nor the oil stain itself on the water could be found. If there was anything there, it disappeared without a trace. Further searches for Link 19 also did not bring success, and the remaining Mariner had to return to the air base with nothing. To this day, none of the aircraft has ever been found.

Such mysticism was no longer within any framework, and the US authorities ordered one of the largest search and rescue operations in history. 300 army planes were lifted into the air to comb the area. 21 vessels with the latest bearing-finding equipment set out to sea. Ground searches were also carried out with the help of volunteer detachments, who were supposed to search for the wreckage of aircraft washed ashore. To no avail. People could not find anything that would indicate the fate of Flight 19 and the rescue aircraft.

Missing US Air Force C-119 military transport aircraft

On June 6, 1965, a C-119 long-range military transport aircraft disappeared from radar screens in the Bahamas. He was supposed to deliver four mechanics to Grand Turk, but he never made it to his destination. The last radio message from C-119 on the ground was received when it was about 180 kilometers from Grand Turk, after which the connection was cut off.

In search of the missing plane, the entire local coast guard and military were raised, who combed 77,000 square miles a day for five days, but did not succeed. The plane disappeared without a trace.

This is one of the few missing vehicles in the Bermuda Triangle that has been linked to alien abduction.

    The disappearance of the Cyclops

If the disappearance of aircraft in the area of the Bermuda Triangle can be associated with a banal crash, then the disappearance of huge ships without a trace is not so easy to explain.

In March 1918, the USS Cyclops, a US Navy transport ship, set off with a cargo of manganese ore from a port in Rio de Janeiro towards the North Atlantic states. On board this huge vessel were 306 passengers, not counting the crew. Throughout the voyage, no alarm messages were received from the crew. The last time the ship was seen near the island of Barbados, where he made a short stop. After that, no one saw him.

The search for the missing Cyclops has been going on for decades, but neither the wreckage, nor the hull of the ship, nor the bodies of the dead passengers could be found. The ship disappeared without a trace.

The mystery of the ship "Rubicon"

One of the most mysterious events associated with the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle occurred on October 22, 1944. Then the US Navy discovered a Cuban cargo ship called the Rubicon, which was independently drifting in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. When the military boarded the ship, it turned out that only a dog was on the ship. The team disappeared without a trace.

The Rubicon was in excellent condition, had no visible damage from the storm or anything else, the personal effects of the crew were in their places, everything in the galley looked like the crew was about to take a meal. The only entry in the ship's log was made on September 26, when the Rubicon entered the port of Havana. There were no lifeboats on board.

The main version of the loss of the Rubicon team is an ordinary storm, which forced the crew to urgently escape from the ship, however, the order that prevailed on the deck and in the cabins indicated that the storm could hardly have caused the disappearance of people.

    Douglas DC-3 passenger plane disappearance

The Bermuda Triangle continued to take lives. On December 28, 1948, a Douglas DC-3 passenger plane disappeared without a trace in the area, carrying 29 passengers and 3 crew members.

At first, the flight from Puerto Rico to Miami proceeded as normal, the crew kept in touch with the ground and there were no signs of trouble. At 04:31 local time, the captain of the aircraft told the dispatchers that he was about 50 miles from Miami and would soon arrive at his destination, but for some reason this message was not received in Miami, but it was intercepted by the dispatcher from New Orleans, who forwarded the information to Miami Airport. After that, a lot of attempts were made to call the Douglas DC-3 crew members, but they were unsuccessful. Communication was lost, as was the plane.

No debris or evidence of a crash was found in the area of the aircraft's intended route. Most are inclined to believe that the disappearance of the plane is connected with a UFO.

Reasons for the disappearance of ships and planes in the Bermuda Triangle

Both scientists and mystics, and conspiracy theorists put forward a lot of different reasons for the collapse and disappearance of transport in the Bermuda Triangle. Among the dozens of crazy theories, those that intersect with other conjectures and facts that are characteristic of human culture stand out.

There are whole groups of people who claim that the responsibility for the disappearance of ships in the Bermuda Triangle lies with the inhabitants of the missing mainland - Atlantis. Others believe that in this area there is increased activity of UFOs and aliens who are secretly studying life on our planet. Skeptics put forward their theories, which look quite scientific, against the backdrop of the words of conspiracy theorists.

However, the coast guard and insurance companies unanimously claim that the Bermuda Triangle is no different from other areas of the ocean, and the percentage of ships and aircraft disappearing in it is the same as in other parts of our planet.

    Magnetic distortions and anomalies

Regular reports of a failure of navigation equipment in the Bermuda Triangle indicate that a magnetic anomaly of incredible strength may occur in this area. Some believe that this happens when the tectonic plates move, which causes the appearance of electric and magnetic fields that affect both devices and humans. This theory has many opponents both among scientists and physicians, despite the fact that it looks very scientific against the backdrop of fiction from other conspiracy theorists.

    killer waves

Another theory of the death of ships in the Bermuda Triangle was the version of killer waves that occur in these places with enviable regularity.

Killer waves (rogue waves) arise spontaneously and are loners in the waters of the ocean. Their height can reach 20-30 meters, and such a colossus is a mortal danger for any modern ship. The pressure of the water, which the wave will bring down on the ship at high speed, can not withstand even the most durable skin of the ship, which makes the chances of survival almost zero.

Such waves can occur even in complete calm and are not related to weather conditions. However, this theory does not explain the death of aircraft in the area.

The release of huge bubbles of methane

There are versions of scientists that in the area of the Bermuda Triangle there is a possibility of the formation of giant methane bubbles from cracks on the ocean floor.

Experimental studies have shown that a huge and solid bubble of gas, like methane, when it appears under the ship, can create a condition when the ship simply falls into the void under its bottom, after which the ocean waters instantly close over its mast, not giving a single chance to emerge.

Such a theory could also explain the dead crews on ships that could be found several times in these latitudes. Methane could easily poison people whose bodies show no visible damage.

Also, the release of methane in large quantities can cause aircraft crashes. Flammable gas, getting into the engines of aircraft, explodes, leading to a disaster.

And again, this theory does not explain why researchers often fail to find a single piece of debris from a missing ship or plane.

The mystery of the Bermuda Triangle is still alive. Despite the fact that many consider the problem of this area far-fetched and exaggerated, the presence of more than 200 incidents with the collapse or disappearance of vehicles in these waters in the 20th century alone suggests that legends do not arise from scratch. The mystery will live on until the Devil's Triangle stops taking unsuspecting people with it.

“... A lot of ships and planes disappeared here without a trace. More than a thousand people have died here over the past 26 years. However, during the search, it was not possible to find a single corpse or debris ... "A terrible place, isn't it?

The Bermuda Triangle is a relatively recent sensation. Even at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s, it would never have occurred to anyone to utter these two now magical words, let alone write anything on this topic. The first to use this phrase was the American E. Jones, who published a small pamphlet entitled "Bermuda Triangle". It was published in 1950 in Tampa, Florida and contained only 17 pages, illustrated with six photographs. No one, however, paid much attention to her, and she was forgotten. Revival came only in 1964, when another American, Vincent Gaddis, wrote about the Bermuda Triangle. A multi-page article titled "The Deadly Bermuda Triangle" was published in the well-known spiritualist magazine Argos. Later, having collected additional information, Gaddis devoted an entire chapter, thirteen, to the Bermuda Triangle in the highly popular book Invisible Horizons. Since then, the Bermuda Triangle has been constantly in the spotlight. In the late 60s - early 70s, publications about the forgotten and newest secrets of the Bermuda Triangle rained down from a cornucopia. All of them came out in the US or the UK. The beginning was laid by John Spencer with two editions of a book that tells about numerous mysteries, secrets and supernatural phenomena - "Limbo of the Lost" (Limbo of the Lost). Then came the turn of A. Jeffrey, E. Nichols and R. Wiener. The concept of the "Bermuda Triangle" is firmly rooted in the minds of people. But the real explosion was heard in 1974 after the publication of the book The Bermuda Triangle by the uncrowned king of the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle, Charles Berlitz (Doubleday Publishing House).

So, the Bermuda Triangle is a widely known anomalous zone. It is located in the borders between Bermuda, Miami in Florida and Puerto Rico. The area of the Bermuda Triangle is over one million square kilometers. The bottom relief in this water area is well studied. On the shelf, which makes up a significant part of this bottom, many drillings have been carried out in order to find oil and other minerals. The course, water temperature at different times of the year, its salinity and the movement of air masses over the ocean - all these natural data are listed in all special catalogs. This area is not particularly different from other similar geographic locations. And yet it was in the area of the Bermuda Triangle that ships mysteriously disappeared, and then planes.

... On March 4, 1918, the American cargo ship Cyclops departed from the island of Barbados, with a displacement of nineteen thousand tons with 309 crew members. On board was a valuable cargo - manganese ore. It was one of the largest ships, it was 180 meters long and had excellent seaworthiness. The Cyclops was bound for Baltimore, but never arrived at her destination port. Nobody recorded any distress signals from him. He also disappeared, but where? Initially, it was suggested that it was attacked by a German submarine. There was the First World War, and German submarines roamed the waters of the Atlantic. But the study of military archives, including German ones, did not confirm this assumption. If the Germans attacked, torpedoed and sank such a large ship as the Cyclops, they would certainly notify the whole world about it. And the Cyclops just disappeared. Many versions appeared, among them were both noteworthy and purely fantastic, but not one of them gave an answer to the one and only, but the most important question: where did the Cyclops go?

... A few years later, the command of the US Navy made the following statement: "The disappearance of the Cyclops is one of the largest and most intractable cases in the annals of the Navy. Even the place of its catastrophe has not been precisely established, the causes of the misfortune are not known, not the slightest traces of death. None of the proposed versions of the catastrophe gives a satisfactory explanation, it is not clear under what circumstances it disappeared. "
... Military people, committed to strict logic, signed in their utter helplessness. So what could be the reason for the disappearance of the ship? The then US President Thomas Woodrow Wilson stated that only God and the sea knew what happened to the ship.

Suddenly, in the Bermuda Triangle, aircraft began to disappear. With their disappearance, interest in the mysterious Triangle increased significantly and began to be warmed up in every possible way by the omnivorous "yellow press". It is no coincidence that not only sailors and pilots showed attention to the Bermuda Triangle, but also geographers, scientists - researchers of the sea depths, governments of different countries.
The most mysterious so far is the story of the disappearance of 6 aircraft, which occurred on the evening of December 5, 1945.

... December 5, 1945 was an ordinary day for the US Air Force based in Florida. At that time, a large number of pilots who received rich combat flight experience were in the service there, so accidents in the air were relatively rare. An experienced commander with over 2,500 flight hours was Lieutenant Charles K. Taylor, it was quite possible to rely on the rest of the pilots of his 19th flight, many of whom were higher in rank than Taylor. Yes, and this time they received a task that was not too difficult: to go straight to Chicken Shoal, located north of Bimini Island. (V. Voitov "Science refutes fiction" Moscow, 1988) Before the usual training exercises, combat pilots joked and had fun, only one of them felt something was wrong in his soul and remained on the ground at his own peril and risk. This saved his life ... The weather was great, five triple Avenger (Avengers) torpedo bombers took off and headed east, having on board (remember this figure!) Fuel for 5.5 hours ... No one else saw them what happened to them afterwards - only God knows. Various hypotheses (most often far-fetched) and versions about this have been put forward abound. All of them remained unsaid for only one reason - the missing planes were not found. But just recently ... However, let's not get ahead of ourselves. First, we must try to reconstruct the picture of the tragedy. We warn you in advance that the details are taken from the materials of investigations and publications of the official chronicle in Florida, so many details are very different from what you may have read ...
At 14:10, the planes with 14 pilots (instead of 15) took off, reached the target, and around 15:30–15:40 set back on a course to the southwest. And a few minutes later at 15.45 at the command post of the airbase Fort Lauderdale received the first strange message:
-We're in an emergency. Obviously off course. We do not see the earth, I repeat, we do not see the earth. The dispatcher made a request for their coordinates. The answer greatly puzzled all the officers present: - We can not determine our location. We don't know where we are now. We seem to be lost. It was as if it was not a former pilot who spoke into the microphone, but a bewildered novice who had no idea about navigation over the sea! In this situation, the representatives of the air base made the only right decision: “Keep heading west!”
Airplanes will not slip past the long coast of Florida. But... -We don't know where the west is. Nothing works... Strange... We can't determine the direction. Even the ocean does not look the same as usual!.. From the ground, they are trying to give target designation squadrons, but due to the sharply increased atmospheric interference, these advices, apparently, were not heard. The controllers themselves had difficulty picking up fragments of the radio conversations between the pilots: -We don't know where we are. Must be 225 miles northeast of the base... Looks like we... At 4:45 pm, a strange message comes from Taylor: "We are over the Gulf of Mexico." Ground controller Don Pool decided that the pilots were either embarrassed or crazy, the indicated place was on the completely opposite side of the horizon! At 17.00 it became clear that the pilots were on the verge of a nervous breakdown, one of them was shouting on the air: “Damn it, if we flew west, we would get home!” Then Taylor's voice: "Our home is in the northeast ..." The first fright soon passed somewhat, some islands were noticed from the planes.

Taylor's very last words are still being debated. Radio amateurs managed to hear: “It seems that we are sort of ... we are sinking into white waters ... we are completely lost ...” According to reporter and writer A. Ford, in 1974, after 29 years, one radio amateur shared this information: Allegedly, the last words of the commander were "Don't follow me... They look like they came from the universe..."

In 1987, it was there, on the shelf bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, that one of the Avengers built in the forties was found! It is possible that the other 4 are also somewhere nearby. It remains to ask the question: how could the planes move seven hundred kilometers to the west unnoticed by everyone?

... A few years after this truly amazing disappearance, on February 2, 1953, a British military transport aircraft with 39 crew members and military personnel on board flew a little north of the Bermuda Triangle. Suddenly, radio contact with him was interrupted, and at the appointed time the plane did not return to base. The cargo ship Woodward, sent to search for the alleged crash site, could not find anything: a strong wind was blowing, there was a small wave on the sea. But neither the oil stains accompanying the disaster, nor the wreckage was found ...

... Exactly one year later, almost at the same place, a US Navy aircraft with 42 passengers on board disappeared. Hundreds of ships plowed the ocean in the hope of finding at least the remains of the aircraft. But again, all their searches were unsuccessful: nothing could be found. American experts could not give any explanation of the cause of the disaster.

... This list, which already consists of fifty truly large ships and aircraft, can be supplemented by the death of the large cargo ship Anita. In March 1973, it left the port of Norfolk with coal for the Atlantic and headed for Hamburg. In the area of the Bermuda Triangle, it fell into a storm and, without giving a distress signal "SOS", is believed to have sunk. A few days later, a single life buoy was found in the sea with the inscription - "Anita".

A little about the geography of the Bermuda Triangle
The vertices of the triangle (see map) are Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Miami in Florida (or Florida's South Cape). However, these boundaries are not considered too punctually. Proponents of the existence of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle are well aware that in this case, a very important water area north of Cuba and Haiti is excluded from its limits. Therefore, the triangle is corrected in a variety of ways: some attach part of the Gulf of Mexico or even the entire Gulf to it, others - the northern part of the Caribbean Sea.
Many continue the Bermuda Triangle east into the Atlantic Ocean as far as the Azores, some overzealous heads would gladly push its border even further north. Therefore, the Bermuda Triangle is not a strictly limited geographical area, as, say. Bay of Bengal or Bering Sea. It is not a legal geographical name either. Therefore, it is written with a lowercase letter. If we insist on a classical triangle bounded by the three indicated vertices, then in the end we will be convinced that almost half of all the mysterious disappearances for which the triangle is so famous will not enter into it. Some of these cases occurred far to the east in the Atlantic, others, on the contrary, in the strip of water between the triangle and the coast of the United States of America, others in the Gulf of Mexico or in the Caribbean Sea.

The area of the Bermuda Triangle in its classical boundaries between Bermuda, Miami in Florida and Puerto Rico is just over 1 million km2. This is a solid part of the ocean and, accordingly, the seabed and atmosphere above the ocean.

And here are a couple of Bermuda Triangle theories:
Proponents of the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle have put forward several dozen different theories to explain the mysterious phenomena that, in their opinion, occur there. These theories include space aliens or Atlanteans hijacking ships, travel through holes in time or rifts in space, and other paranormal causes. Other authors are trying to give a scientific explanation for these phenomena.

Their opponents argue that reports of mysterious events in the Bermuda Triangle are greatly exaggerated. Ships and aircraft are also dying in other parts of the world, sometimes without leaving a trace. A radio malfunction or the suddenness of a disaster can prevent the crew from transmitting a distress call. Searching for debris at sea is not an easy task, especially in a storm or when the exact location of the disaster is not known. Given the very heavy traffic in the Bermuda Triangle, frequent cyclones and storms, a large number of shallows, the number of disasters that have happened here that have not been explained is not unusually large.
Methane emissions. Several theories have been proposed to explain the sudden death of ships and aircraft by gas emissions - for example, as a result of the decay of methane hydrate on the seabed. According to one such theory, large bubbles saturated with methane form in the water, in which the density is reduced so much that ships cannot swim and sink instantly. Some speculate that once airborne, methane could also cause plane crashes, for example, by lowering air density, which reduces lift and distorts altimeter readings. In addition, methane in the air can cause engines to stop.
Experimentally, the possibility of a fairly quick (within tens of seconds) flooding of a vessel that was on the border of such a gas release was indeed confirmed. Wandering waves. It has been suggested that the cause of the death of some ships, including those in the Bermuda Triangle, may be the so-called. wandering waves, which are believed to reach a height of 30 m.
infrasound. It is assumed that under certain conditions, infrasound can be generated in the sea, which affects the crew members, causing panic, as a result of which they leave the ship.

…So, the riddle of the Bermuda Triangle still exists. What is behind all these disappearances? Only time can give an answer to this question.

A mystery that remains unknown to theorists and scientists. A place where people go missing not alone, but by crews and teams. Experienced sailors and pilots refuse to deliver tourists to these parts. However, one has to be a desperate extreme seeker to venture on such a dangerous journey. They say that not a single victim of the anomalous zone has yet managed to get out of there or at least give a radio distress signal.

    Bermuda Triangle

It's about the Bermuda Triangle. And although the hot and desirable Bermuda Islands are nearby, yachts with tourists do not go through the mystical anomalous zone. Perhaps this is done for safety reasons due to drastically changing weather conditions and the situation on the water. Or perhaps local sailors believe in the unearthly power of the mysterious Triangle and do not want to pay with their lives for a dangerous cruise.

Some supporters of exceptionally reliable facts deny the anomaly of this place. Allegedly, ships and planes disappear all over the world, but the attention of the majority is constantly riveted only to the Bermuda Triangle. Yes this is true. However, hundreds of missing pilots, ship crews and groups of tourists are counted in this zone.

    Bermuda Triangle on the map

And here the thought of why not a single “SOS” alarm signal has been recorded is already reluctantly slipping. The mysterious zone hides many things that will be the subject of discussion for both ordinary people and experienced researchers for a long time. But whether these discussions will lead to a concrete answer remains a mystery.

Bermuda Triangle - what is known

Where no tourist should strive is to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, or rather, to an imaginary triangle with corners from Florida, Puerto Rico and, in fact, Bermuda. Be careful as it is not marked on the map in any way and you can navigate only by the photo on the Internet. After all, this zone is called the Bermuda Triangle, which does not spare those desperate who challenge it.

The weather here seems to warn of danger. For a calm sunny day in half an hour is replaced by a seven-point storm, hurricane wind, thunderstorm and fog. Such weather “changes” are due to frequent cyclones, which are attracted here like a magnet, which, again, leads to specific questions.

    Bottom of the Bermuda Triangle

Under water, the Devil's Triangle (another name for Bermuda) has a mountainous terrain with hills up to 200 meters high. The bottom is covered with a layer of loose chalk rocks up to 5000 meters thick. Because of this, the search for sunken ships is considered useless. The depth of the deadly depression of the "devil's sea" is 8000 meters. It is unlikely that there will be the remains of the missing objects. In this anomalous place is the deepest point of the Atlantic Ocean.

The anomaly of this place, some explain the intervention of alien beings. According to the adherents of such a theory, the aliens have singled out this zone as one of the most favorable in order to select people for their own experiments. Few support this argument. But supporters argue their opinion by the fact that the fragments of the missing ships and planes were not found, therefore, they were taken by aliens to study life on Earth. This hypothesis is supported by ufologists - scientists who research everything about UFOs.

    UFO in the Bermuda Triangle

Another reason that paranormal incidents are explained is weather conditions and bottom topography. Indeed, unpredictable weather and rocky terrain could have killed dozens of crews. But blaming nature for hundreds of missing ships and planes is wrong. It should not be forgotten that in the entire history there is not a single case when an “SOS” signal would come from the “death” triangle. This means that either the radio signal was jammed, or the "victim" of the mystical zone did not have time to send a signal due to the rapid "absorption".

Some physicists adhere to the theory of space curvature. For someone who has never heard of this hypothesis before, such thoughts will seem fantastic or even crazy nonsense. The fact is that a large amount of quartz rising from the water disables compasses.

Pyramids at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle

In addition, quartz creates streams of ionized air, which turn into a kind of "magnetic fog". In such a fog, the maximum speed of the aircraft increases tenfold. Theoretically, the creation of such a phenomenon is impossible, because. the required energy is equal to the power of 2 billion hydrogen explosions. But this judgment exists.

The popular gas hypothesis also inspires confidence among researchers. According to the judgment, bubbles of methane are formed in the ocean water, which exceed the size of the ship. When a ship enters such a bubble, it seems to be sucked under water in a matter of moments. After conducting experiments, scientists confirmed the fact that in this case it is impossible to have time to send a distress signal.

    Bermuda Triangle

The last suspected cause of shipwrecks in this area is infrasound. Getting under the influence of such sounds, a person does not realize what is happening to him. Auditory and visual hallucinations begin, and the ship's crew is thrown overboard. The reason for these infrasounds has not yet been substantiated.

The only case when a message for help was received from the anomalous zone occurred in 1945. When five American planes crashed at the same time - a link of five Avenger torpedo bombers - specialists managed to get a record of the negotiations of the team members. Before the crash, they informed each other about the failure of the navigation and control system. The pilots also said that the ocean looks suspicious, and the water changes its color from green to white.

    Riddles and secrets

The mystery of the anomalous terrain is underwater structures that raise no less questions than the Bermuda Triangle itself. They were discovered by researchers who are studying the bottom near the mysterious place.

The buildings themselves consist of pyramids, streets, squares and monuments. It is interesting that on specific structures there are man-made inscriptions from specific symbols. One pyramid is completely similar to the Egyptian Sphinx. Glass buildings have also been found.

As the researchers themselves say, such symmetry cannot be found in nature. Therefore, the found fragments of the sunken city are considered man-made Atlantis, which sank 9000 years ago. Some opponents of any judgments on this matter completely deny the relationship between the disappearance of objects and the mysterious underwater city.

Like, the boundaries of the sunken state do not coincide with the "devilish sea" of the Bermuda Triangle. But researchers have published the exact coordinates of the found architectural structures, and skeptics can independently verify these data.

    "Victims" of the Devil's Triangle

Often this mystical place is accused of loss, in which it is not really involved. This is done to divert suspicion from the real culprit and at the same time once again remind of the merciless triangle. Yes, there are those who managed to successfully cross the anomalous terrain. But the number of missing people in the area simply does not allow one to ignore such figures and stories.

Plane at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle

In total, the Bermuda Triangle claimed the lives of 25 ship crews between 1840 and 1999. These are not just small pleasure boats. This figure includes charterers, cruise yachts, frigates, heavy transport vessels and even oil tankers. During the same period, the airspace of the Devil's Triangle took 20 aircraft to nowhere, including both simple hydroplanes and military bombers.

It is worth paying attention to the loss of a large vessel "Cyclops", the length of which reached almost 200 meters. This happened in March 1918. Fragments of the Cyclops have not been found to this day. Initially, it was assumed that the disaster was due to a German submarine. However, on the day of the mysterious disappearance, there was not a single German ship in the waters of Bermuda. The mystery of the loss has not yet been solved.

A ship at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle

The mystical lonely schooner "Ellen Austin", wandering in the waters of the "deadly sea", in 1881 claimed the lives of two crews. As you know, this ship was found in the Bermuda Triangle without a single soul on board. Then a team of unsuspecting rescuers decided to moor the schooner to the shore. However, after the crew boarded the Ellen Austin, the ship disappeared without a trace forever.

In 1944, a ship was found without a single crew member on board. The presence of a specific team was evidenced by the personal belongings of the sailors and the captain. The Rubicon was the name of the yacht on which only the dog was found. The lifelines on the schooner were broken, the boats were missing.

A cargo ship 120 meters long in 1950 also disappeared without a trace. The search began after a 6-day delay to the port of destination. However, there is still no information about the ship and crew.

In total, the waters of the Bermuda Triangle have killed more than 1,000 lives. Traces of most objects have not been found so far, which makes these disappearances not just statistics, but real mysticism and anomaly.

    Filmography
