Andrey Shirman, known to the public under the pseudonym Dj Smash, was born in May 1982 into a musical family. He was already ready to seriously part with the educational institution, but his father offered him an alternative - a private school, where Shirman eventually finished his studies and received a certificate.
Musical career
After school, Andrei entered the Perm Institute of Art and Culture, but in his second year he decided to leave his studies and move to the capital, which he had known since his school years. The fact is that father and son often traveled to Moscow and delivered Andrey's demo recordings to recording companies. So by the time he moved to the capital, his name was already well known to the club public, and he almost immediately joined the local party.
The young DJ had no problems finding work. From 2000 and for three years, Shirman worked as an arranger and producer at the Depo recording studio, where he gained experience and the necessary technical skills in sound engineering and vocal recording.
In 2003, he was invited to perform DJ sets at the legendary Shambhala club, where he met Alexei Gorobiy, the most famous club promoter in Moscow.
Since 2004, Smash has become a resident of the Moscow Zima Project club, where he performed remixes of compositions by Russian artists of the 80s. Thus, he created a new musical direction "retro house", which the public liked and became the main "chip" of the DJ.
In 2006, at the age of 23, Andrei received the prestigious Night Life Awards, becoming the youngest recipient in history. All-Russian fame was brought to him by the composition Moscow never sleeps, which was recorded in collaboration with Timati. The police in Perm opened a criminal case on the fact of causing moderate harm to musician Andrey Shirman.
The Perm branch of United Russia reported that they took control of the situation with the fight, and specified that they would suspend Telepnev's membership in the party if a criminal case was initiated against him.
The story received a wide response: DJ Smash colleagues supported the artist in social networks, and Timati turned to the governor of the Perm Territory to deal with the situation.
