01.05.2019

The lion is a proud and beautiful animal, it is not without reason that it is called the king of beasts. At the same time, the lion belongs to the cat family, which means it is distinguished by its quick reaction, accuracy of movements and grace. And now I will show you how to draw a sitting lion in several stages.

  1. Let's draw three oval shapes - an outline of the future figure of a seated lion.

  1. On the head of the lion, we denote the arches of the nose, the nose itself (it is the same as that of a cat), the lines of the mouth and ears.

  1. Erase the auxiliary lines of the head and draw the outline of the muzzle of the lion. On the sides of the contour, draw a magnificent mane. Let's add pupils to the eyes. My lion turns out to be a smiling shy little one. What kind of lion do you get?

  1. Based on the oval of the body, draw the front paws. The paw that is further away from us is drawn a little shorter than the one in the foreground - even for lions, the laws of perspective apply. The body is visible between the legs. Draw claws on the fingers of the lion's paws.

  1. Let's start with the hind legs - they are rounder and more massive than the front ones. Let's draw a semicircle where the lion's thigh should be. And a paw with claws coming out of it. Let's continue the lion's back from the mane to the hind leg.

Let's draw a lion's tail with a playful brush. We decorate the muzzle of the lion with a mustache, darken the nose and mane. Step by step drawing of a sitting lion is ready!

4. Let's get to the mane. It all depends on imagination.

5. After the mane, we begin to draw the body of our Lion.

6. Finish the tail and mustache.

7. The most interesting stage of our drawing begins - giving color, we choose colors and begin to carefully and slowly paint the drawing.

8. After we circle the contour of the Lion for clarity and brightness.

Thank you for your attention. I wish you all creative success.

The lion is one of the largest predators in the cat family. Drawing a lion is not easy, if only because we rarely see a lion. A cat certainly looks like a lion, but still it is not a lion. Basically, the lion is not much different from its cousins the tiger and leopard. The same proportions of the body, except for the lush mane and "tassel" at the tip of the tail. Drawing a lion from the first drawing lesson may not work out, then take a closer look at your cat first and even draw it. Then it will be easier for you to complete the drawing of a lion. In this lesson we will learn draw a lion step by step, with a simple pencil.

1. Draw the contours of the torso and head

Let's start, as always, with the initial contour forms. You need to draw two circles for the torso and one smaller one for the head. The circumference of the front of the lion is slightly larger, and it intersects with the circumference for the head. When a drawing is done in stages, with a simple pencil, you can always correct wrong lines, so draw boldly, and if there are mistakes, correct them.

2. The contours of the upper part of the paws

In the drawing of a lion, the most difficult stage is the initial one, because you determine the main proportions of the future picture. At the same stage, you only need to add the upper and lower torso line. I think it will not be difficult for you to draw this. But the upper parts of the paws will be more difficult to draw, but they need to be drawn exactly as in my drawing.

3. How to draw a head and paws

Before drawing the paws, let's do something that is easier. Draw the outline of the tail and continue the top line, connecting it to the front paw. Now let's draw the rest of the lion's paws. "Lengthen" the front paw with another additional outline and draw a "pillow" on the paw. Immediately draw next to the second front paw. Approximately also you need to draw the hind legs, focusing on my drawing.
And now let's draw the lion's head. As always, start drawing the simplest elements. Divide the oval of the mouth into three parts and draw a triangle for the nose a little higher, and draw the eyes last.

4. General contour of the body, head and paws

Circle the initial contours of the hind legs with a pencil. Try to accurately shape the paws, do not make them too thin or too thick. It is these "little things" that will make the drawing of a lion realistic. Don't forget to draw the tail. After that, remove the extra contour lines from the drawing. You see now that lion drawing almost finished, it remains only to draw the head in detail and shade the drawing with a simple pencil.

5. Finish drawing the lion

I deliberately took an extra step, since drawing a lion's head is not easy. Let's take a closer look at the "face" of the lion (you can enlarge this picture in your browser).
To draw a lion correctly and realistically, you need to pay attention to the "little things". You need to draw wool in detail, a brush on the tip of the tail and add shadows throughout the drawing.
Draw all the details that you missed and, if you wish, draw a landscape surrounding the lion in the background. Additional details always enliven the drawing and make the picture more realistic. A drawing of a lion drawn with a simple pencil with shadows is not advisable to color. If you are going to make a picture in color, then start painting over it in step 5.

6. Drawing a lion on a graphics tablet

If you can draw a lion from the first time, then you are a true artist. And if the lesson didn’t work out, try to watch your cat and draw it. Aside from their mane and size, cats are virtually indistinguishable from lions.

Pictures of cats drawn with a pencil or paints can be a good decoration for a child's room. But in order to draw a cat correctly, let's learn a little. By the way, it will be easier to draw a lion if you know how to draw a cat correctly.

The lion is very similar to the tiger. The same structure and body size, only a shaggy mane and a brush on the tail distinguish a lion from a tiger.

The fox, of course, does not look like a lion at all, but it is very similar to its relatives - a wolf and a dog. It has a similar body structure to them and is only slightly smaller in size. But the fox has its own differences. She has a very magnificent tail, which she needs not only for beauty, but also for business, for example, to cover her own tracks in the snow or to keep warm in severe frost.

The wolf in the drawings most often depicts a grin to convey its aggressive character. This grin can create a big effect of a wild beast in your drawing of an angry lion. In this lesson we will learn how to draw a wolf in stages with a pencil.

In this lesson, we will learn how to draw a St. Bernard dog step by step with a pencil. I like this dog because it has a good-natured look, and if you learn how to draw this breed of dog, you can easily draw a lion, a tiger or other breeds of dogs.
