And I purposefully went there (from my native Almaty). Back then I had a hard time with music, I stopped writing and performed mostly at weddings.. I thought about what I should finish, go into business. And suddenly - casting. There were many talented guys there, and many were not taken. But I believe that you must earn your place. And if they don’t give it to you, gnaw it with your teeth. I knew it was mine and I wanted to get there so I came and took it.

Black Star is looking for talented people who will be able to independently produce good material under any circumstances, regardless of the label's help. This is a powerful business project, not for squishies who will do the work. They take those who just need a good startup to bring money to themselves and the label in two years. And this is where talent matters. Suppose they make one or two songs for you, but then without talent you will not be able to move, you will simply be blown away.
It was not easy for me at first. I got used to it for two years. Moscow was in depression. But Black Star does not let you relax. If you are lazy, go to the bench - at best, at worst - you will fly out. Not everyone goes to this school..
After "Daring" I could buy myself expensive backpacks. ( laughing.) But I understand that I have done so little. I have a long way ahead. And so now I decided to lie low - to finalize the album. This will be my first big step in the label.
I hope that by my birthday (March 17) it will be ready. It will be a serious album, with a different sound and a different message - an adult one. So while I don’t go out anywhere, I spend time in the studio and at home, and I don’t even answer messages, everyone is offended ...
If you are in show business, it is important to appear at different events. But I don't want to just show my face. I will come, but a little later, when I understand that I have done enough, and I will know that my appearance will please someone.

I don't want to be recognized. It bothers me a little. If they come up to me and say: “Oh, hi, let's take a picture!” - OK. And if they follow me and whisper, it's annoying.
The first time I was recognized in 2012 in Alma-Ata at the bus stop. I had just released the first video. A little girl came up to me and asked for an autograph. And then the bus came, I got on it and left. (Laughs.)
My parents did not approve of my passion for music. Dad is a doctor and mom is a teacher. I was born in Alma-Ata but spent most of his childhood in Tashkent because my dad had a clinic there. Parents always paid more attention to my older brother, he was smart, and I was a bully. There were fights, booze, girls… In general, I was a problematic guy. And my father always said: "How sorry I am that you are such a fool." But he loves me very much.

I thought about becoming a veterinarian, but I started writing poems that I read in literature class and passed them off as Yesenin. The teacher, of course, understood everything, but she gave me five. Then I heard the band "Caste" and I realized that I can become cool too. ( Smiling.) I rapped and got attention both in my party and from older boys.
And then I recorded the first album, there were offers from different rappers to record a duet. And one day I met a guy from Tashkent who sang incredibly. He inspired me, and I thought: if you can control your voice like that, then I also want to. And I decided to try. I felt what vocals were like and that changed everything. In two years, I really got up and realized that eight years before that I had been doing incomprehensible things.. Then new acquaintances appeared, the group with which we performed, work. And parents began to take it seriously. Today they thank me.
I've always envied and compared myself to someone. It is foolish to say that I have found a point of independence from other people's opinions. But there is aggressive envy, and there is one that makes you want to rise. You immediately think that you are a sucker, but you understand how to act in order to surpass someone. Reasonable comparison helps a lot, this is not self-criticism, in which you plunge headlong and get lost. I have always looked up to the best.
Recently I met Konstantin Meladze(53). He walked over, shook his hand and said thank you very much. I adored him since childhood, woke up to a song "The Night Before Christmas" and went to school. Now I'm 30 years old, and he still makes cool music, writes the most powerful lyrics.
I also want to meet Soso Pavliashvili(52). When I started singing, I sang along with it. And recently he even posted a video where I sing his song. We agreed to meet.
Family man and rock and roll cannot be combined. You always need to take a break from something. For example, you skated on tour, played, and then you spend the same amount of time with your family. And the family, of course, should understand. If you have a jealous woman, nothing will work. It will destroy either the family or the career. And if it is difficult for her to understand all this, but she tries and trusts you, this is another matter.(I have relatives who are waiting for this.
Everything was in my life. And I don't regret anything. If I had to live all this again, I would not change anything, I would just do everything the same, but to the maximum.

I'm very glad that I can do it! I try to mix and never endure an image in only one style. Recently, I was introduced to the normcore style, and I instantly fell in love with it. Sometimes you want to dress in a homeless style!
We love it so much when you are feminine ... Does this happen to you?
Yes, sure. For many events, I choose this look and do not even neglect impressive heels. But I have one "stop" - I will never go on stage in heels.
Which Western stars do you consider a style icon?
Definitely someone who does not like monotony in the image and always interestingly combines things with each other. My reference is Rihanna. Everything she does is awesome! But once she had a borderline situation when she put on a pink dress that looked like a cake. What's interesting, and it looked great on her!
Don't you think that music and clothing style should match?
Certainly! But I'm still in search, this applies to both music and my style of dressing.
So what do you never wear?
I will never wear a full sequin dress. It's too glamorous for me. I also made fashion mistakes, which I hope I will never repeat. For example, I once put on something like a denim sundress, leggings, completely inappropriate shoes. But the main thing, as I think, is to realize your mistakes!
I recently noticed that it is quite possible to dress cheaply and stylishly. What do you think?
I agree that cool is not always brands. The mass market can be combined with both luxury and items from the same category. But at the same time, I believe that basic things should still be expensive. I'm talking about things like a classic black pencil skirt, but it's just fashionable things that can be cheap, because trends change, and fashion goes along with them, and classics are forever.
Are you getting rid of things you no longer wear?
Yes, I believe that once a season it is necessary to do a global cleaning. Sometimes it even happens to me that I get rid of things that I have never worn.
How do you feel about jewelry?
Between bijouterie and jewelry, I would rather choose the former. I agree with the current trend to avoid wearing jewelry in everyday life. This is a kind of mauvais ton.
Tell the story of an item you bought and never wore.
I had such a red denim skirt, but I never figured out what I can wear it with. That was the end of her life in my wardrobe. Things in more muted shades are always much easier to combine, so I refuse bright shades.
Do you sometimes go out in the same dress several times?
Yes, but the allowable limit is two times. I already regard a larger number as bad form. But there is one trick: to save time, money and effort, you can beat the basic things in a new way.

Childhood and Nathan's family

The beginning of Nathan's career
Nathan began to take his first steps in his musical career with the Syndicate group back in 1999. In 2003, the first album of the group was released in a small edition, which the fans liked. This album was an impetus for Nathan, and together with the team he began to move forward rapidly - they performed in clubs. 
Nathan realized that music is his business, and he wants to connect his future life with the art of music. the singer dreamed that music would become not just a hobby, but his profession.
Together with the Syndicate group, Nathan opened a studio and from that moment he completely immersed himself in work. But not everything was always smooth: the group experienced both ups and downs. The guys tried to stand on their feet, develop and move forward. The team took part in many famous festivals, but they were not always successful. Since 2008, the musical group has been renamed to "Fucke ly Hustla".
After graduating from the Institute of Arts in 2009, the singer decided to start a solo career, which gave good results. By 2010, Nathan recorded several songs, where he showed his fairly good vocal skills.

Nathan and Nastya met seven years ago in Alma-Ata and have been going through life hand in hand ever since. Wedding rings Nastya and Nathan, as expected, are constantly worn. True, one day Nathan almost lost his: “We were filming a video for the song “Hallelujah” in the desert, and I had to take off the ring. While I was doing tricks, it got lost. Then I told the director: I won’t return home without a ring. And in the end I found it! Anastasia confirms with a smile: “After that incident, Nathan wears the ring all the time, not paying attention to the persuasions of the producers.”
Nathan, usually male artists support the role of a bachelor. Why are you so eager to talk about your personal life?
Nathan: I see that it is sometimes difficult for Nastya to observe my public life, and any woman would not be able to calmly, without jealousy, look at the life of an artist. Often, conflicts arise in the families of musicians because of the ego and starry life of the performer. But this is not about us. I broke into show business with my wife, and if before I did not put my personal life on display, it was only because I was protecting my happiness.
Nastya supports me in my work, and I support her mental balance. Now it is important for me to show that I completely belong to my woman. ( Smiling.)
Anastasia: Initially, I was against interference in my husband's stellar life, but Nathan had long insisted that I participate in his social life. In general, I agreed - the fortress fell. ( Smiling.)
Tell us how it all started for you.
A .: About seven years ago, when we were still living in Alma-Ata, Nathan found me on a social network and wrote this message: “Hello, mother of my future children.” Of course, I thought: “What kind of crazy?” - and blocked him. ( Laughs.) However, he still did not retreat. He saw that I work as a designer and asked me to make business cards for him. I had to unblock him, and then we started talking on the phone, but I refused to meet with him for a very long time.
N .: Yes, for a long time I had to be Nastya's psychologist - we only talked on the phone all the time. Still, it's difficult - all the time to indulge women's whims. ( Laughs.) In general, our psychological sessions lasted months before our first meeting.
How did you end up meeting?
A .: It turned out that we live in neighboring houses. When we first met, I had a feeling that I didn't have before, and it never happened again. I remember then I thought: “Is this really my future husband?” Nathan walked towards me in wide rapper pants... ( Laughs.)
N: Yes, exactly! I was limping on one leg, like I had a cool rapper walk. Then I lived and worked in the studio - I was engaged in the voice acting of the film. We had a male company, and my friends and I tried to take everything from life. At some point, I realized that I needed to settle down and get a large dose of responsibility. In addition, I saw that all these parties would lead to nothing, I no longer wanted to remain a bachelor.
And one night I just went to VKontakte and, seeing the photos on Nastya's page, I realized that she was a nice girl, and immediately told my friends about my intention to meet her. It is amazing that my first message was written on the first of April 2010, and exactly two years later, also on the first of April, our son Nathanael was born.
N .: Yes, on the first of April I gave birth to a son to a man whom I first blocked. ( Laughs.) The day we met and the birthday of our son are memorable dates for our family. This coincidence is amazing!
In Alma-Ata, you lived in neighboring houses. So, did you get to know your parents right away?
N .: Almost ... I remember that then I actually had no money, and when I went to meet Nastya's mother, I even put on a friend's coat to look more presentable. ( Smiling.) Perhaps the conversation with the future mother-in-law was the most difficult interview in my life! ( Laughs.) Then I told her that I want to become a star, I will gradually develop and earn money. I remember the kind look of Nastya's mother at that moment and since then I have loved her very much. We have developed such a warm relationship that sometimes it seems to me that Nastya's mother loves me more than her daughter.
A .: And Nathan's mother loves me more than her son. ( Laughs.)
N .: True, not everything was so simple right away ...
Why?
A .: My family was categorically against our meetings: other young people looked after me, and here I meet a guy who literally lives in a studio. My parents could not imagine such a son-in-law. In general, my parents and my older sister gave me a big scandal. ( Laughs.) I even had to leave home for a while to prove my love for my future husband.
So, your love has overcome parental disapproval.
A.: Yes! On the day of meeting my whole family, Nathan decided to cook dinner on his own, he didn’t even let me into the kitchen. I remember my sister looked at him like the Snow Queen all evening, but after a delicious dinner, even her heart melted and she said: “Nathan is a real man.” Now, in any dispute, my family is completely on the side of Nathan, can you imagine? Sometimes it's even embarrassing. ( Laughs.) But my father, an artist, did not worry about me - he immediately liked Nathan very much. Dad said that he saw a thinking man, and this is the highest rating from my father. ( Laughs.)
Nathan, did your parents immediately approve of your choice?
N: Yes. At first, I introduced Nastya to my dad.
A .: The funny thing is that Nathan's parents are used to the fact that he is surrounded by female attention, for them meeting a new girl was a common thing. ( Laughs.) And I was going for a very long time - I was picking up a dress: I understood that I was going to get acquainted with an eastern family, because Nathan's father is a Pamiri, and my mother has Uzbek roots. I wanted to please and make a proper impression, especially on the head of the family. The whole dinner I was terribly worried.
N .: I think my father took Nastya seriously, because he saw my careful attitude towards her and my timidity in front of this woman. Before meeting Nastya, I had never behaved like this with anyone else. And when my dad talked to her, he immediately determined: Nastya is a copy of my mother. ( Smiling.)
Nastya, how did Nathan propose to you?
A .: I remember one spring I was in a terrible mood, and he wrote me a poem “Everything will be fine” to cheer me up. Then we began to shoot a music video for these verses, called Happy End. Before filming, Nathan told me that everything would be fine in the end, but for now, as planned, I should play his jealous bride. When we were filming the finale, Nathan proposed to me! Of course, this came as a complete surprise to me. ( Smiling.)
N .: Yes, I prepared an engagement ring, agreed with my friends so that during the filming they would pass the ring below under the tables. It's good that everything worked out from the first take, otherwise the surprise would not have worked out.
At the beginning of the conversation, you said that all decisions in your family are made by a man. And who wanted to move to Moscow?
N .: Here I can’t say that I made the decision to move, sometimes a woman still feels more what a man needs.
A .: When in Alma-Ata Nathan turned to various production centers, he was told that he was individual and ... too purposeful. I saw how much effort my husband puts into the development of his art, so I understood that we needed to move to Russia. We agreed that we would do everything for this, because Nathan saw himself exclusively as an artist on the Black Star label.
He wanted it so much that in one of the interviews a year before getting on the label, he literally predicted that he would record a joint track with Timati, and soon it happened: the song “Hey, why are you so daring” became a real hit.
N .: After I passed the casting of "Young Blood", my dream came true and I signed a contract with the label. At home, in Kazakhstan, I was engaged in rap, we had a group "Syndicate", but my hobby was not profitable. Over time, I began to seriously engage in vocals, I liked to sing. I remember once I called Nastya and started singing Elton John's Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word to her, and she didn't even recognize my voice. ( Laughs.)
A .: Yes, I laughed then into the phone and said: “Do you really think that with a musical education I can’t determine who sings. You turned on Elton John's record!" And when he sang again, I realized that he had a real talent!
What do you think was the most difficult on the way to success?
N .: When we moved to Moscow for the sake of my dream, we lived extremely difficult - literally every ruble was counted. It's good that I immediately signed a contract with the label, and Nastya got a job as an art director. True, at first the son had to be left in Kazakhstan. It is impossible to put into words how we worried about Nathanael. After all, we didn’t really see him, we just shook the cradle - and it was already necessary to move to Moscow, sign a contract. At times we were just depressed.
A .: Perhaps this was the most difficult moment in our life. At the family council, it was decided that I should move to Moscow with my husband. Our parents took care of Nathanael in Alma-Ata. Every night I fell asleep with my son's little sock in my hand, and about once a month we tried to visit our child.
When did you bring Nathanael to Moscow?
N .: After a year, the first money appeared in Moscow, at the same time we took Nathanael from grandparents.
A: It was hard, but we did it. When you have children, God himself gives you the opportunity to cope with all the difficulties.
N .: Before the appearance of our son, I was all in debt, and as soon as Nathanael was born, everything began to improve!
Would you like your son to become a musician too?
N .: To be honest, I don’t want anyone from my family to be closely connected with show business, and even more so my son. We want him to become a doctor like my father. He is my neurologist, we can call him for any problem - he is our family healer!
Nathan, now you perform very often. Are you able to spend as much time with your family as you would like?
N: Not yet. But Nastya is constantly with Nathanael, as she works as a freelancer.
A .: In fact, the husband always finds at least an hour a day to spend time with his son, sometimes he comes to put Nathanael to bed.
Nathan is a caring husband and father. Recently I taught my son to ride a bike, and I watched this picture! Of course, we miss each other, but frequent separations only add romance to our relationship.
N .: Recently I have been thinking of recording a special song dedicated to the family, and in the video I will definitely shoot my wife and son. But for now I'm working on my debut album. ( smiling.)
Nathan, do you have tattoos that symbolize your love for your wife and son?
N .: I think about it, but for now Nastya draws sketches for me with Polynesian motifs. Perhaps, over time, I would like to get a tattoo in memory of some history of our family.
A: By the way, I drew all the sketches of Nathan's tattoo! But right now, I don't want to do anything. ( Laughs.)
Nathan, how lucky you are with your wife!
N.: ( Smiling.) Nastya also helps me choose girls in clips!
Really? Nastya, have you ever been jealous of Nathan for models from his clips?
A .: I love him very much, so I don’t have feelings of jealousy for show business, and even more so for girls. I completely trust my husband. You know, when a person from the filming of a video or a party comes tired and says “I miss you”, you don’t need any proof of his loyalty.
N .: Recently, Nastya was on the set of my video “I want to be with her”, which we filmed in Cyprus. I was categorically against her presence, because it is difficult to play passion with another girl when her wife is nearby.
A .: I watched the series on my phone so as not to embarrass him. ( Laughs.) With Alice, the main character of the video, we became very friends, it was I who helped find her for the filming of Nathan's new video. Usually I intuitively choose girls for clips, look at their Instagram and somehow immediately see that this is not just a beautiful girl, but also a good person.
And what does the son say when he sees dad with a strange girl?
N .: He thinks that all the girls in my videos are Nastya. It seems to us that Nathanael does not distinguish between girls, as well as bearded Black Star artists. ( Laughs.) He sees only what he wants to see: dad and mom together.

Sarah, from your resume (previous interviews, from your filmography) it is clear that you try yourself in two related professions: actress, singer. In which of these professions do you see yourself more and why? Which one is closer to you?
I think and live with music, but how can I sing without playing on stage? Vocalists are everywhere. It is worth going even to restaurants - and there voices are many times more powerful than those we see on TV. Nevertheless, this is not enough to be called, in my opinion, an artist. An artist is an actor, a director, a singer, and a stylist all rolled into one. If he does not know how to present himself without outside help, then this is a puppet, not a person.
How did you get into acting? What are your first steps and successes in the acting path?
Oddly enough, by accident. I just wanted to earn money, but in the end I discovered a new way of communicating with the audience, with my listener and viewer. My first “super role” was an episode in the TV series Detective Samovarov, the role of a waitress with a text, but I was voiced by Zhanna Friske). I have never been a favorite of directors, but for me it was more important to be interesting to the audience. And I know that my main role is ahead.
Do you consider your profession more of an art or a purely profession (craft, business)?
This is a skillful craft. Sometimes you have to transform from a creator into a plowman, and the more plastic you are in this regard, the easier these transformations are for you.
Sarah, have you ever tried yourself as a songwriter or acting project (movies, shows)?
As I know, you will participate in the project on the STS "Terrible Love", from this the question is: do you really treat Love as a terrible force?
I advise you to watch at least a couple of issues of this show - very interesting, and in the main roles - the stars of our show business, which are impossible to recognize, and some had to change names, otherwise the name Nathan, for example, would be too obvious to declassify. They left me with Sara)) The older I get, the more I understand that love in the human sense does not exist. Or in any case, what we used to call love is not love. Passion, profit, comfort, convenience, gratitude, tenderness, respect are shades of feelings, but not the feeling itself. Therefore, I believe in comfort, responsibility and respect. You can play tricks, arrange a clowning and it makes life easier. Apart from the fact that it is difficult to speak and breathe in a mask). I like to experiment with looks, but I've never been made into a monster before. I agreed immediately, on the condition that I would only be in the lead role, although this was already implied. There were some fears - what if I would be allergic to rubber, but the mask turned out to be not so dense, and everything worked out)
Are you similar to your heroine or is she your complete opposite?
I can also be an evil woman yaga)) Or a grumbling witch - they picked up the mask for me, of course, the toughest one) I scared all the pick-up artists))). And at the same time amused casual witnesses of my reincarnations. And in general - if a girl is not loved, not hugged, not appreciated and not provided - she becomes the same evil and gloomy witch, so everything is taken from life. Guys - don't make girls grumpy!

When I wanted to eat on a date, it turned out that the mask should not be dirty, and the food did not go there. So I just drooled, well, in addition to the end of filming, it turned out that our make-up car had left, and I had nowhere to take off my mask, wash and change. Therefore, I had to stomp in this form to the nearest cafe and change my image in the toilet) And, as it turned out, I am afraid of heights and almost lost my hat.

The main thing is not to soar the brain by calculating how many competitors are born every second, otherwise you won’t want to live. Focus on your own strength and resilience. Everything has its time and age. Some have early success, some late. The main thing is to develop, not to stop, and become a good greyhound, stuff false intelligence - “oh, what if someone doesn’t like me.”) Imagine that no one likes you anyway.
