Writers-humorists themselves read their works. Friends from the humorous workshop from the Crocodile magazine were invited. For the first time, the clown Vyacheslav Polunin, the singer Nadezhda Babkina, the bard Alexander Rosenbaum got on Central Television.

Scenes from performances were shown that people from the periphery could not get to and watch - the TV made this possible. Famous actors, writers, satirists participated in the programs, such as Mikhail Zhvanetsky, Arkady Arkanov, Roman Kartsev, Viktor Ilchenko, Mikhail Zadornov, Grigory Gorin, Rina Zelyonaya, Leonid Utyosov and many celebrities. It was a great honor to be on the show.

The program was literally besieged by Evgeny Petrosyan: he sent cassettes, invited to concerts, invited to family gatherings. But none of what Petrosyan did at that time was suitable for the Around Laughter format. Yan Arlazorov with his "man, man" appeared on that television only once: they considered [ Who?] that it is rated for too low an IQ. And the work of Yefim Shifrin was characterized by [ Who?] as "Raikin for the poor". If it seemed to Kalandadze that one of the artists was "stars", retribution was not long in coming. Once, on his orders, Alla Pugacheva was cut out of the New Year's "Around Laughter" for yelling at the cameraman: “How could you take off my beautiful eyes and legs in such an ugly way! ..”

Everything new is well forgotten old.

"Around Laughter" - an entertaining humorous program, born in 1978 and regularly aired until 1991, reappeared on screens in 2017.
By the way, the 1st edition of that program began with a slight embarrassment. The presenter could not come to the shooting on time and he was replaced by A. Ivanov for a while (but it turned out forever). It was he who, after the 1st issue, was approved for the role of an organic and charming presenter. The program was divided into four categories, each of which featured performers known and unknown to the Soviet audience. It was a launching pad for aspiring comedians, as well as satirists who wanted to show off their wit.

In the theatrical category, they showed excerpts from various performances or showed something of their solo. The now famous Leonid Yarmolnik became popular after the audience saw his Chicken Tobacco. The program was attended by young, but already well-known actors - A. Mironov, K. Raikin, G. Khazanov and others.

The literary category meant the performance of poets - A. Voznesensky, N. Dorizo, R. Rozhdestvensky. Along with serious writers, the masters of the sharp word - V. Vishnevsky, P. Khmara, I. Irteniev, and, of course, San Sanych, as the host was lovingly called - Alexander Ivanov, also appeared in the program. It was his speech that the audience was waiting for as “manna from heaven”, since it was he who allowed himself to be used in his speeches, as it is now customary to say “banter”.

The musical category implied the performance of bards of that time, ironic and comedic musical parodies of famous performers, both foreign and domestic. Each program was marked by friendly sketches (cartoons) by Igor Makarov on the participants, and the program of artists, musicians, writers and poets, and the audience participating in the competition had the opportunity to receive a memorable gift from the hands of San Sanych himself. Usually this gift was a book with parody works of his own composition.
The program “Around Laughter” was loved, waited, and tickets were obtained with a fight.

Now, twenty-five years later, it was decided to resume the transmission. As part of the program, humorous numbers of various genres will be used, both in the spirit of a bygone era and modern, new numbers, which will include sketches, stand-up, satirical dialogues and monologues, musical performances, theatrical miniature productions, intertwined with archival releases of “Around laughter."

The creators of the reanimated program “Around Laughter” emphasize that the emphasis is on the intelligence, subtlety, elegance of satire and humor of the new project. The first guests will be invited stars - L. Dolina, M. Boyarsky, Yu. Galtsev, N. Valuev, T. Rodriguez, S. Altov, the group "Glom!" headed by Vsevolod Moskvin and other famous people.

Forty years of the TV show "Around Laughter" ... Years have passed, but many have not forgotten how they waited for it and watched it in the evenings.

40 years ago, on September 18, 1978, the television entertainment program “Around Laughter” appeared on the screens of the Soviet Union. There were few such television programs in those years, and, according to its leading parody poet Alexander Ivanov, "when there was laughter around, the streets were empty." The program instantly won the audience's sympathy and from 1978 to 1990 was the most popular show, which absorbed the best satire and humor of the USSR.

The idea of a comedy program was not new. It was assumed that the project would become a television incarnation of Literary Gazette's "12 Chairs Club" and would have a concert form, not a studio one. That is why getting tickets for the program and getting to the concert itself in Ostankino was considered an extraordinary happiness and the face of fortune.

As already mentioned, the teacher of descriptive geometry in the past and the famous poet-parodist in the future, Alexander Alexandrovich Ivanov (December 9, 1936 - June 13, 1996), by a lucky chance, became the permanent host of the TV program “Around Laughter”. Why by luck? On the day appointed for the filming of the first issue, the approved presenter could not arrive on time, and since the audience in the Ostankino Concert Hall was already expecting the start of the performance, the replacement in the person of television debutant Alexander Ivanov saved the premiere of the show from failure. As they say, being in the right place at the right time, the poet-parodist took the post of the organic host of the program “Around Laughter”. The audience was always looking forward to it. The favorite of the audience, who became San Sanych for everyone, turned any source into a brilliant number filled with poetry and irony.

The program was divided into 4 permanent headings: literary, musical, theatrical and poetic.

In the literary section, the viewer listened to the art of such talented comedians and satirists as Mikhail Zadornov, Arkady Arkanov, Efim Smolin, Semyon Altov, Mikhail Zhvanetsky, Anatoly Trushkin, Grigory Gorin.

The favorite participant in the TV show was Viktor Veselovsky, a journalist and satirist writer, one of the founders of Around Laughter and a long-term leader of the 12 Chairs Club in Literaturnaya Gazeta. Without this man of rare charm, it is also impossible to imagine this TV show.

The music block was built differently. The main function was play. One of the best and most beloved numbers by the fans of the program is “Orange” with a parody of the song “Theme from “Love story””.

The theatrical section showed excerpts from performances, as well as solo performances. Here, the faithful audience can be touched by the memory of the “Chicken Tobacco” number, which was presented by the then unknown Leonid Yarmolnik.

In the poetry section, the audience admired the reading art of eminent poets: Robert Rozhdestvensky, Andrei Voznesensky, Nikolai Dorizo; masters of the ironic parody genre: Vladimir Vishnevsky, Pavel Khmara and Igor Irteniev.

The most honored guest of the TV show was Rostislav Plyatt, who, according to a number of opinions, could become its host. And it was an amazing host! But the transmission would be completely different.

It is impossible not to pay attention to the artist Igor Makarov, who drew friendly caricatures for the participants, and the public was given the opportunity to guess “What would that mean?”. At the end of the program, the winner received a prize from the hands of San Sanych himself. As you know, it was a book with his parodies.

Let's focus on the audience. Completely different faces ... Not better, not worse - different. Yes, life was different. But what a pleasure to see them!

Could there be such a show today?

In 2017, on April 1, Channel One made an attempt to revive the program with a new host, Efim Shifrin, but, having not received the expected response from the audience, a few months later, Around Laughter was finally closed. It is possible that the failure of the transmission was influenced by generational change and modern society. Now, unfortunately, young people are not interested in such programs and television in general. The Internet is now the land of opportunity. Therefore, I do not believe in the appearance of a TV show of a similar level.

Maybe one of the readers took part in the recording of the TV show “Around Laughter” and can supplement this material? It would be very interesting!

A popular entertainment program on Soviet television that aired on the First Program of the Central Television from September 18, 1978 to April 1, 1991 and resumed in the spring of 2017 on Channel One.

Around laughter. About the program

The idea of a humorous program was submitted by the head of the department of humor "Literaturnaya Gazeta" Victor Veselovsky- it was assumed that the new project would become a television incarnation "Club 12 chairs", but the transfer itself will not be a studio, but a concert.

On the filming of the first issue, there was an overlay: the approved presenter could not arrive on time, and since the audience in the Ostankino Concert Hall had already gathered, we had to urgently get out. It was possible to find a replacement in the face of a television debutant, poet-parodist Alexander Ivanov, who in the end turned out to be so organic that after the broadcast he was approved for the role of a permanent presenter.

The program "Around Laughter" consisted of several sections: literary, musical, theatrical and poetic.

Well-known and novice satirists and comedians performed in the first. So, Mikhail Zhvanetsky appeared here, Semyon Altov, Efim Smolin, Arkady Arkanov, Anatoly Trushkin, Grigory Gorin, Mikhail Zadornov, others

Excerpts from performances or solo performances were shown in the theater block. For example, Leonid Yarmolnik became famous thanks to "Around Laughter" and your number "Chicken Tobacco". Repeatedly took part in the program Andrei Mironov, Konstantin Raikin, Yuri Nikulin, Gennady Khazanov and others.

The musical part was also playful - many fans of the program remember the hilarious number "Orange" with a parody of « themefromLovestory» , frequently appeared "Bim-Bom" and other parody groups, bards, popular artists and groups of all genres.

The literary section was presented as eminent poets - Andrei Voznesensky, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Nikolai Dorizo, and masters of the ironic parody genre: Vladimir Vishnevsky, Igor Irteniev, Pavel Khmara, and, of course, Alexander Ivanov himself, a favorite of the public, called San Sanich. He was always looked forward to. Neither before nor after him was the genre of literary parody so loved by the people: the primary sources no longer seemed too important, for each Ivanov's parody is a brilliant number that combines irony and what later became known as "banter".

In every program the artist Igor Makarov drew friendly caricatures for the participants, and a competition was organized for the audience " What would that mean?”- the winner in the final of the concert received a prize from the hands of San Sanych himself. It was, as a rule, a book with his parodies.

Broadcast "Around the laughter"Was sincerely loved by the audience, they were looking forward to it, getting to the concert in Ostankino was considered happiness, tickets were very difficult to get.

However, in 1991, the program was closed - the time changed, it was allowed to talk about almost everything, many other interesting programs appeared, the attitude of the audience became different - the veiled irony, subtle hints and Aesopian language were replaced by vowel satire, caustic exposure, direct criticism.

Unfortunately, when humorous programs began to revive, none could become the spiritual heir to "Around Laughter", the last, 38th in a row, which aired on April 1, 1991.

Around laughter. Program revival

After a quarter of a century, Channel One decided to resume the program "Around the laughter". In 2016, her official website was opened, and the casting was announced at the same time.

In March 2017, it became known that the revived comedy show would be released on April 1, and the Soviet and Russian pop artist, actor, director, humorist, singer and writer Efim Shifrin would be its host. In addition, the first issue was assigned No. 39, thereby continuing the numbering of the previous episodes of the program.

As part of the updated program, viewers will be presented with performances of various humorous genres, both old and modern: satirical monologues, stand-up, musical numbers, theatrical miniatures, sketches, parodies with complex plastic make-up, archival footage "Around the laughter", etc.
