Armen Dzhigarkhanyan: biography, personal life. Armen Dzhigarkhanyan: children, personal life, photo How many years is Dzhigarkhanyan older than his wife

24.06.2019

So many times stories with unequal celebrity marriages ended sadly, and do not count. Being firmly confident in their irresistibility, aging stars lead to the registry office those who faithfully look into the eyes and swear eternal love. Unfortunately, bitter disappointment often sets in after a few years.

So, many remember the story of Boris Grachevsky, who left his aged wife for the sake of a modest young provincial. Happiness did not last long, after the divorce, Anna Panasenko was left with a magnificent silicone bust, a loud last name, profitable acquaintances in the show party and an apartment in the capital.

Now the legendary Armen Dzhigarkhanyan is forced to admit that his young loving wife turned out to be a prudent hunter for the money of her old husband.

Dzhigarkhanyan's young wife rewrote the actor's property

A year ago, when it became known about the secret wedding of the artist, Dzhigarkhanyan and his wife caused a lot of controversy on the Internet. Netizens were sure that the woman was driven by a cold calculation. It seems that the virtual community was not mistaken.

Armen Borisovich himself, who was admitted to the hospital last Sunday, did not go into the details of the family conflict, confining himself to calling his wife a thief.

The journalists contacted a close friend of the artist Artur Soghomonyan, who told the shocking details of the marriage of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya.

It turns out that in a short period of time, the young woman managed to change the statutory documents of the Dzhigarkhanyan Theater. Now Vitalina is the general director, and her husband has become the artistic director. Legally, the young wife of Dzhigarkhanyan can fire her husband from his own theater. According to Soghomonyan, the woman is already putting her plan into action:

She has already sent a letter to the Ministry of Culture with a request to remove Armen Borisovich from his post due to health reasons.

In addition, during the leadership of the theater, Vitalina produced semi-finished performances, while Dzhigarkhanyan's name is on the posters.

Soghomonyan told reporters that Armen Dzhigarkhanyan's wife managed to rewrite two of the actor's apartments, and one of them was bought before marriage.

The actor now refuses any communication with his wife, and she refused to give Armen Borisovich's friends a passport and her husband's clothes in order to take it all to the hospital.

The artist's friends are now looking for a rented apartment where 82-year-old Dzhigarkhanyan will be transferred after the hospital.

We mark this material in Zen and stay abreast of all the intrigues and scandals of show business.

The third wife of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan - Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya

Actor Armen Dzhigarkhanyan is known not only for the record number of roles played, but also for the fact that he had numerous love affairs, he was married several times. His wives are intelligent talented women who have had a considerable influence on the development of the culture of our country.

The first wife of Dzhigarkhanyan is the actress of the Russian Drama Theater Alla Vannovskaya

Alla Vannovskaya was the daughter of the People's Artist of the Armenian USSR Yuri Alekseevich Vannovsky. She met Armen when he worked in the theater in Yerevan. Alla was very beautiful, loved Armen, but was jealous of all the women with whom he had to cooperate. After getting married, they lived together for six years. She gave birth to Armen's daughter Lena in 1964.

Unfortunately, it turned out that Alla was ill with a mental illness - the dance of St. Vitus. This disease had a negative effect on her mental state, Alla constantly made scandals to Armen. As a result, he could not stand it, took his one-year-old daughter Lena and left for Moscow. In 1966, Alla died in a mental hospital.

Later, having matured, the daughter of Armen and Alla was educated in Moscow and wanted to become an actress. But her life was cut short in 1987 when she fell asleep in a car with the engine running. Before this event, the girl had a sharp dialogue with her father, who could not forgive her for an affair with one of the theater actors.

Dzhigarkhanyan still blames himself for the death of his daughter. She is buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery in Moscow.

The second wife of Dzhigarkhanyan - Tatyana Vlasova

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan met Tatyana Vlasova back in Yerevan. She was born in 1943, and from childhood she saw herself as an actress. Her place of work was the Yerevan Russian Drama Theater named after Konstantin Stanislavsky.

She was married to a theater director and gave birth to a son, Stepan. The marriage broke up, Tatyana divorced her husband, but at the same time she continued to work as an idol in the theater.

For the first time, Armen saw his future wife when she was standing and smoking near the stage. He immediately noticed her long and graceful fingers. After they met, Tatyana confessed to Armen that boredom and depression reigned in her life, and Armen advised her to fall in love. Over time, their conversations became more and more exciting, they talked about everything in the world ... and gradually fell in love with each other.

The second wife of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan - Tatyana Vlasova

Soon the couple decided to leave Yerevan for Moscow. The reason for the departure was the fact that the famous director Anatoly Efros invited Dzhigarkhanyan to play a role in the Lenkom Theater. They took Dzhigarkhanyan's daughter Elena with them, and Tatyana's little son remained in Krasnoyarsk. As an engagement ring, Tatyana put on her hand an old ring from Armen's grandmother.

Arriving in Moscow, Tatyana and Armen began to live in a small basement near the theater, and after some time they received an apartment in one of the houses on the Arbat. Tatyana's son Stepan moved to Moscow. Dzhigarkhanyan initially tried to attach him to the theater, even bought him a one-room apartment in his house, but Stepan worked poorly, and his stepfather fired him. The couple began to avoid meeting each other, gradually the relationship went wrong.

In 2000, Tatyana left for the United States of America to teach Russian at the University of Dallas. Armen was thinking about moving to America himself, since his longtime friend gave him a house there, and the American government gave him a green card for services to culture. But then the actor realized that he did not have enough knowledge of the language to adequately show himself in the American theater.

The third wife of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan - Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya

Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya, originally from Kyiv, graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory in piano. I first saw a performance with the participation of Dzhigarkhanyan at the age of 16, when the Moscow theater came on tour to Kyiv. Then the actor conquered her with his performance of the role. Even then, Vitalina dreamed of devoting her life to classical music and at the same time became interested in everything that was connected with Dzhigarkhanyan.

After graduating from school, Vitalina took part in the International Music Competition in Paris, received an award there and entered the Kyiv Conservatory to study. In 2001, Vitalina left for Moscow to meet Dzhigarkhanyan there - at that time it turned out that the actor had health problems. Thus began her Moscow life, studying there at the conservatory. Periodically, she traveled to study music in Israel and Austria.

The third wife of Dzhigarkhanyan - Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya

Soon Dzhigarkhanyan offered Vitalina to work for him in the theater as a music director. Then she helped him stage a play based on the fairy tale Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Vitalina changed her citizenship to Russian and began to help Dzhigarkhanyan in everything, making sure that his health was supervised by the best doctors.

When she managed to help Dzhigarkhanyan overcome his illness, they settled in another district of Moscow. Together with him, she went to New York, to a resort in Spain, visited Las Vegas.

A couple of months before his 80th birthday, Dzhigarkhanyan officially terminated his marriage to Vlasova. There is an assumption that he wants to legitimize his relationship with Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya. The age difference between Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya is 45 years. Now Vitalina is the musical director of his theater, there is gossip that many actors could not get along with her and left the theater. She was recently promoted to General Director of the theatre.

Actress Tatyana Vlasova spoke about the criminal case brought against her

Actress Tatiana Vlasova spoke about the fact that she was accused of attempted murder of her ex-husband Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and his young wife Vitalina.

According to Tatyana Sergeevna, after the second marriage of the famous actor and the start of litigation over a common apartment in Starokonyushenny Lane, she was unexpectedly summoned to the police. It turned out that the law enforcement agencies received a statement stating that Vlasova had threatened to kill her. The document stated: they want to pour acid on the actor and his new darling and even “hire killers”. At the end of the statement, signed by Dzhigarkhanyan and Vitalina, it said: “Please open a criminal case.”

According to the ex-wife of the actor, after a conversation with her, the case was closed. Tatyana Sergeevna is sure that it was Vitalina who wanted to get rid of the second owner of the expensive apartment in this way, but she specified that she was ready to forgive the girl.

Tatyana Vlasova and Armen Dzhigarkhanyan divorced in 2015, after which the actor married a pianist.

Due to disagreements, the former spouses had to divide the property in court. As a result of the proceedings, the Moscow City Court left the apartment to Dzhigarkhanyan, writes StarHit.

On Sunday, October 15, the Telegram channel Mash reported that between the actor Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and his wife Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya there was a conflict, after which the 82-year-old actor left home with friends. On Sunday evening, the media reported that at a theater meeting, the actor's wife told her colleagues that her husband was kidnapped by his friends, who are now trying to take over the Dzhigarkhanyan theater. According to Vitalina, she wrote a statement to the police about her husband's abduction. Later the actor's sister Marina Dzhigarkhanyan denied the information about the alleged kidnapping of her brother.

Where is the actor now?

Dzhigarkhanyan is in the hospital. According to the sister, who got through to kp.ru, first an ambulance came to him, then the actor went to the theater, after which he was taken to the hospital with high sugar levels. Now he is under the supervision of doctors.

Vitalina, according to Cosmopolitan, failed to see her husband, as the actor does not want to meet his wife. Later, information appeared that the actor wrote a statement to the police against his wife, in which he said that Vitalina wanted to kill him in order to take possession of all his property. The actor's sister says that it was not he who wrote the statement, but his "friends", and that his wife "did not rob anyone."

Similar accusations Dzhigarkhanyan, as reported by the media, allegedly brought against his first wife. Tatyana Vlasova. The woman lived in the United States for many years and did not claim common property. However, after filing a divorce, it turned out that the actor plans to recover money from his ex-wife for an American house and an apartment in Moscow. A criminal case was initiated. The woman was accused of threatening Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and his beloved Vitalina.

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan evicts his ex-wife from the apartment and refuses to even talk to her

On October 3, the wonderful actor and director Armen Dzhigarkhanyan will celebrate his 81st birthday. And in September, the artist could celebrate another important date - the 50th anniversary of living together with his ex-wife Tatyana Vlasova. But the couple officially divorced in 2015, after which Armen Borisovich almost immediately married his girlfriend, pianist Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya. In the same year, the young muse of the master (Vitalina is 37 years old) became the director of the Dzhigarkhanyan Theater. And the 75-year-old ex-wife of the artist is now packing her bags and is preparing, by a court decision, to vacate her only home - their apartment with Armen Borisovich on the Arbat. Tatyana Vlasova frankly told Komsomolskaya Pravda what she regrets on the day of her failed golden wedding, why her marriage collapsed and what she would like to talk about with her ex-husband.

"Vitalina puts on his socks"

In September of this year, we would have celebrated with Armen-jan, as I always called him, a golden wedding, - Tatyana Sergeevna sighs. - I still can’t tear it out of my heart ... I watched a TV report - she (Vitalina, wife. - Ed.) Is sitting in Armen’s office, puts her legs on a chair and shows her manicure to the reporter. And I look: I bought this chair, even when the theater was being equipped. In this theater, I worked for some time as a drunk, everything was native there ...

I often scroll in my head what I would say to Armen if we did have a meeting with him. Until Vitalina allows us to see each other. I remember that he once said during the years of our marriage: “I will never leave you. It's like cutting off a hand." Now I would ask him: “Is it okay for you“ without a hand ”?” ... I loved Armen!

I will not hide, I often go to Vitalina's Instagram. And I feel that everything is shrinking in my soul: it turns out that jealousy is not alien to me ... Friends say: why are you reading all this - you are poisoning yourself? No, I'm not a masochist, I'm just worried, how is he, is everything okay with him? The photo looks like nothing. Smiling. Friends say he's not well. Some news is being passed to me from the theater - they saw that Vitalina was putting on socks for him. He is completely dependent on her now, he has grown old. Wouldn't I be able to take care of him, as I did during the years of our marriage?

“I didn’t sit in America as a lady with a cat”

And before meeting with Tatyana, the artist suffered a monstrous drama, which only the closest people knew about. To his first wife - a beautiful actress Alla Vanovsky Dzhigarkhanyan experienced a truly crazy passion. In 1964, they had a daughter, who was named Elena in honor of Armen's mother. Then the actor did not even imagine what lay ahead for him. Whether childbirth affected the body of a young mother, or the genes made themselves felt, but she began to be insanely jealous of her husband, which is called "to the lamppost." All the women he knew fell under suspicion. Vanovsky's pathological jealousy was exacerbated by a progressive severe mental illness. Dzhigarkhanyan was madly afraid for his tiny daughter. One far from perfect day, having taken the one-year-old Lenochka, the actor left his wife forever.

"Cursed" performance

The premiere of the Babel performance "Sunset" was scheduled for December 30, 1987. On the morning of that day, it became known that she had died Lena Dzhigarkhanyan: fell asleep in the car with the engine running. On the day of the funeral, Armen Borisovich was taken away from the Vagankovsky cemetery by the arms. The fate of the performance was in question. The premiere was postponed to January 8, but will the master be able to play? In "Sunset" Elena was also involved, who in the third scene ran into a tavern with her girlfriends and always furtively sent a welcome gesture to her father with her palm. Dzhigarkhanyan arrived at the premiere, the performance began. By the time his daughter was supposed to appear on the stage, all the theater staff gathered behind the scenes. The girls appeared, Dzhigarkhanyan - Mendel Creek - looked at them for a long time, finally dropped the words in an undertone. The premiere took place.

Once I read about great actors who, on the day of the death of their loved ones, went on stage and played. Then I thought it was monstrous. Now I know - I was wrong, - Armen Borisovich will say years later.
Dzhigarkhanyan blames himself for the death of his daughter. And he still cannot forgive himself for what happened on that ill-fated evening of December 29th. If you could turn back time, not flare up, do not utter hurtful words.
Armen Borisovich doted on his daughter, loved him to the point of insanity, and looked at any of her gentlemen almost under a magnifying glass. That evening Lena came home with a young man. The actor, who was nervous before the premiere of the long-suffering performance - "Sunset" was stubbornly not allowed on stage, gave the guy a turn from the gate. What kind of words were spoken, only one Dzhigarkhanyan knows, but after many years and only once he will say: "It's my fault." Elena took her boyfriend to the garage. It was frosty outside, so the lovers climbed into the car to warm up and started the engine...

They went down the aisle after 15 years of dating. Armen Dzhigarkhanyan was 80 and Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya- 36. Of course, evil tongues predicted a short life for this union, but in the first months after the registry office it seemed that the newlyweds were happy. Everything changed a year later: the People's Artist of the USSR accused the newly-made wife of having robbed him to the skin, and he intends to sue, and Vitalina before that went to the police with a statement about the kidnapping of her husband, who was allegedly in an inadequate state. A romantic love story that began many years ago ended in a banal scandal and, apparently, is heading for divorce.

First meeting

The future spouses first met in 1994, when Dzhigarkhanyan was on tour in Kyiv. 15-year-old Vitalina approached the eminent actor for an autograph, adding to the impressive army of the artist's fans: she read all the interviews of Armen Borisovich, watched films with his participation, attended performances. A closer acquaintance with the idol took place 6 years later. The girl gave Dzhigarkhanyan a note through her friend, who worked in the theater. The actor called her and invited her to go to the dressing room for a cup of tea before the performance. The conversation between them developed from the first seconds. Music brought them together: Vitalina studied piano at the conservatory, Armen Borisovich was well versed in classical music. But after a sincere conversation, they parted again and met only when the girl finally moved to Moscow.

Up the career ladder

In 2008, Dzhigarkhanyan invited Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya to become the head of the musical part in her theater, she selected the musical arrangement for performances. Literally a year later, Armen Borisovich had a stroke. The actor, although he was then married, lived alone, since his wife Tatiana Vlasova by that time, she had firmly settled in America and practically did not come to the capital. Dzhigarkhanyan often ate at the theater buffet and, like many other creative people, did not take care of his health. One day, he forgot to drink the drug that the doctor prescribed for him, and ended up in a hospital bed. Then Vitalina took care of the artist into her own hands. After some time, Armen Borisovich returned to work in the theater and even went on stage in the premiere performance of "The Theater of the Times of Nero and Seneca."

Attentive and … young

Vitalina has repeatedly said in an interview that the romance between her and Dzhigarkhanyan did not start right away. There were too many obstacles on the way to family happiness: an impressive age difference, different social status. In addition, it was difficult for the eminent actor to believe in the sincerity of the girl's intentions. But attention from Vitalina took over, and soon they became a real couple. The lovers were always together: at home, at work and social events.

More than 40 years of age difference between Dzhigarkhanyan and his new passion, of course, gave rise to many rumors about the mercenary plans of the latter. But one nuance made one doubt the accusations of spiteful critics: Armen Borisovich was officially married to another woman, which means that in which case all his property would have gone to his legal wife. However, in 2016, the actor decided to put an end to his relationship with Tatyana Vlasova, which lasted almost fifty years, and go down the aisle with Vitalina.

There might not have been a wedding

Dzhigarkhanyan made a marriage proposal at the premiere of A Christmas Story at the Mariinsky Theater in January 2016, and the wedding took place in February. As Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya said in one of her interviews, she offered to set the registration date for March, since it was in this month that the couple met. However, Armen Borisovich told her that he could not wait so long.

On the eve of the wedding, the actor was in the hospital. Vitalina was not completely sure that the wedding would take place. But on X day, the enamored groom ran away from the doctors and nevertheless arrived at the registry office. The ceremony was modest, without lavish feasts and festivities. Having become husband and wife, the newlyweds went to the theater.

After stamp

It seemed that in the family life of Armen Borisovich there was a real idyll. However, in October 2017, news appeared in the press that Dzhigarkhanyan was hiding from his young wife in the hospital, accusing her of stealing and flatly refusing to let Vitalina into his room.

Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya herself interprets this unpleasant story differently. The woman claims that her husband is very ill and was generally abducted, and she did not know about his whereabouts for several days, so she turned to the police.

Dzhigarkhanyan's friend Arthur Sogomyan, who helped the artist go to the hospital, claims that serious disputes arose between the spouses, not only on financial grounds, because the girl allegedly transferred all her husband's property to herself, but also on creative grounds. In 2015, Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya took the position of general director of the Moscow Drama Theater under the direction of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and began to stage performances that her husband did not like on its stage. And when a scandal broke out, she completely issued an order according to which Armen Borisovich was forbidden to cross the threshold of his own theater.

After the “escape” of Dzhigarkhanyan, the spouses do not communicate and, apparently, it is pointless to talk about reconciliation of the parties, since Armen Borisovich declared his desire to divorce Vitalina and deprive her of her position. Alas, even the third marriage did not become truly happy for the actor.

This actor is called one of the most filmed in Russian film production. In the filmography of Dzhigarkhanyan there are more than three hundred roles, and this is only in the cinema, but Armen Borisovich, until 2012, also participated in theatrical productions. His track record also includes more than three dozen radio performances, the first of which date back to the 1970s, and the last to the late 2000s.

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan is known not only as an actor, but also as an acting teacher (from 1991 to 1996 at VGIK) and the founder of the Moscow Drama Theater (under the original name "Theater" D "). A few years ago, the artist talked about leaving the stage, but eventually returned, explaining the change in decision as follows: acting is his passion and life. Now Armen Borisovich does not play himself, but closely follows the theatrical life of Moscow.

Childhood and youth

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan was born in Yerevan on October 3, 1935. The boy was the second child in an incomplete family: even when Armen was less than six months old, his father left his mother, leaving his daughter and son. The children were brought up by their stepfather, whom Armen Borisovich remembers with unfailing warmth. The childhood of the actor was sad: the Great Patriotic War thundered, and the gloomy news from the front blocked the joyful events. As the man admitted, he does not like holidays and gifts since then - too gloomy associations.

Armen Borisovich dreamed of becoming an actor since childhood - this is the merit of his mother Elena Vasilievna, who, adoring the theater, took her son to performances. Thus, the boy fell in love with the stage and already in his teens he clearly realized which direction of his life path attracted him the most.

After graduation, the young man went to Moscow to enter the acting specialty at GITIS. However, Armen was denied admission: despite the fact that the Armenian grew up in a Russian-speaking environment and knew this language perfectly, the accent was still too strong. The saddened young man returned home, but did not give up and from the age of 17 began working at the Armenfilm film company as an assistant cameraman.

For 2 years, Dzhigarkhanyan carefully prepared for admission. The young man decided not to take risks again, and therefore remained in Yerevan. Now he tried to enter the local art and theater institute, where he passed the entrance exams. Dzhigarkhanyan's acting biography began immediately after admission.

Theater

While still at the institute, while studying in the 1st year, the guy began to appear on the stage of the Yerevan Russian Drama Theater. In 1955, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan first appeared on the professional stage, appearing in the play "Ivan Rybakov" in a cameo role. The young actor instantly fell in love with the public, so he entrenched himself in the troupe for 12 years, during which time he played more than 30 roles in the theater.

Actor Armen Dzhigarkhanyan

The main characters of the young actor were not trusted, but often Armen had a chance to get used to the images of extraordinary and ambiguous. This was facilitated by the unusual appearance of the young man: rather small height (175 cm with a weight of up to 80 kg), expressive facial features, interesting facial expressions.

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan graduated from the theater institute in 1958, having managed to remember on the stage by that time and get a job in his specialty and a number of permanent roles.

The most important event in the life of the actor was an acquaintance with, who in 1967 was the director of the Lenkom Theater. Noting the talent of the young man, the director invited Dzhigarkhanyan to his theater troupe in Moscow. In the 60s, Lenkom's fame spread throughout the Soviet Union, so it was impossible to miss the chance, and the actor decided to move.

During his collaboration with the Lenkom Theater, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan managed to take part in a number of performances, including the well-known at that time productions of “Smoke of the Fatherland” and “Molière”, after which an event occurred that eventually became an indirect reason for the actor’s departure from the theater - Efros was removed from work. Despite the fact that the new director treated the young Armen quite favorably, work without Anatoly Efros no longer brought such pleasure to Dzhigarkhanyan.

In total, the actor served in Lenkom for 2 years, and then began to participate in performances of the theater named after him. Dzhigarkhanyan worked with this institution until the mid-90s. He was involved in the most successful performances "A Streetcar Named Desire", "Run", etc. In total, cooperation with Mayakovka lasted 27 years, after which the actor founded his own Theater “D” and left the permanent staff of the Mayakovsky Theater.

Movies

In his youth, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan wanted to act in films, and therefore actively went to screen tests. However, it was not immediately noticed. The young man's debut was a small role in the film "Crash" in 1959, and this appearance on the screen went almost unnoticed by the world of the film industry.

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and Natalya Fateeva in the film "Hello, it's me!"

From 1960 to 1965, Armen starred in several films, including one of the main roles in the film The Waters Rise. These works allowed the young man to attract the attention of Frunze Dovlatyan, and in 1966 a film was released that brought Dzhigarkhanyan all-Union fame: “Hello, it's me!”, A dramatic story about a young scientist, war, love and misunderstanding. The film also starred,.

The following year, 2 projects appeared at once with the participation of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan: the film “Triangle”, for the game in which the actor received the State Prize of Armenia (and Armen Borisovich is still proud of this work), and the serial film “Operation Trust”, where a man embodied the image of the stern and charismatic Chekist Artuzov. In the drama "There Lived a Man", the artist reincarnates as a principled rural doctor who, in his youth, survived the war and the loss of his beloved woman.

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan in the film "Crane"

The popularity of the actor grew day by day, every year he participated in several projects of various directions at once. Among the films of the late 60s, in which Armen Borisovich appeared, are the military film "White Explosion" about the heroes of the Patriotic War, climbing soldiers, the production drama "Echo of Distant Snows" about the construction of a railway in the Far East.

In the next 10th anniversary, several films were released, the names of which are known to any resident of the former Union to this day: "", "Dog in the Manger", "". The actor played a major role in the sequels of the cult Soviet film "" - "New Adventures of the Elusive" and "Crown of the Russian Empire, or Elusive Again".

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan in the series "The meeting place cannot be changed"

Armen Borisovich looks equally convincing in various roles. The audience remembered his heroes of melodramas (“Tell me about yourself”), dramatic characters (“The Fourth”), characteristic heroes (“Men”, “An Hour Before Dawn”). He appears in war films ("High Rank"), dramas ("Autumn") and even children's musical fairy tales ("Taste of Halvah").

In 1975, the film "Olga Sergeevna" was released, in which Armen Dzhigarkhanyan appeared along with the stars of the Soviet screen -,.

In the cinema, the actor has already established himself as an excellent performer of unusual roles. Among his characters are a Spanish football coach ("Eleven Hopes"), a taxi driver ("Arevik"), Metropolitan Theopempt ("Yaroslavna, Queen of France"), a gangster ("Rafferty").

Also, an image was gradually formed in which the Armenian artist was preferred to be seen in the lead roles: the embodiment of calm intellectual masculinity, various investigators or scientists. There are, of course, exceptions - for example, the adventurer Billy Keogh in a 2-episode film based on the story "Kings and Cabbage".

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and Valentin Gaft in the film "Kings and Cabbage"

In the 80s, Dzhigarkhanyan's fame and demand in cinema only increased. In the period from 1980 to 1989, the actor starred in 50 films, among which the most popular were Tehran-43, Tales of the Old Wizard, The Life of Klim Samgin, Two Arrows. Stone Age Detective.

Even the impending collapse of the Soviet Union could not damage the popularity of the actor. In the 90s, Armen Borisovich acted as often as in the 80s, even though he was busy at VGIK, where he taught and supervised one of the groups of students. During this period, such well-known projects with his participation appeared, such as Good Weather on Deribasovskaya, The Inspector General, Don Quixote Returns and the series Queen Margot.

Only after the onset of the new millennium, when the actor crossed the line of 65 years, the number of films began to gradually decrease - but by no means due to a decline in popularity, just the years gradually began to take their toll. Despite health problems, Armen Borisovich continued to act in films.

In 2008, the famous artist tried his hand at directing, working on a performance based on the play "A Thousand and One Nights of Scheherazade." In the same year, 8 films with the participation of Dzhigarkhanyan were released at once. In 2 of them, the films "Parents' Day" and "God's Smile", the actor played the main roles. In the future, Armen Borisovich continued to appear on screens in 2-3 projects a year.

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan in the movie "Unexpected Joy"

During this period, films about Dzhigarkhanyan himself began to appear. In 2008, the picture “300 Faces of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan” was released, in 2010 2 projects appeared at once: “A Thousand and One Roles of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan” and “Armen Dzhigarkhanyan” as part of the “Islands” project of the “Culture” channel.

In 2014, the directors shifted the focus of attention from the actor's professional activities and told the audience about his personal life in the film "Dzhigarkhanyan's Fatal Blonde".

In the same 2014, Armen Borisovich appeared in 4 projects at once: "Payback", "The Soul of a Spy", "Boatswain the Seagull" and "House in the Heart".
