Daria stavrovich performance in the voice. The vocalist of the "slot" group plunged the judges of the show "voice

28.06.2019

Moscow alternative rock band "SLOT" presented in Voronezh a new, seventh album Septima on Sunday, October 16th. Before the performance, the vocalists of the group Nuki (Daria Stavrovich) and Igor "Cash" Lobanov told what hopes they have for Nuki's participation in the Voice show, whose concerts they are ready to attend forever, whether a rock musician needs professional education and what gift the group is preparing for fans for the New year.

Nuka's performance at the "blind auditions" in the show "Voice" had the effect of an exploding bomb. Dima Bilan tried to hide from the powerful vocals of the singer, curling up in a chair. Polina Gagarina listened to the whole number with her mouth open and later admitted that Dasha "sealed" all the judges. Leonid Agutin clapped Nuki standing up as a sign of respect. And only Grigory Leps refrained from evaluating the singer's voice, paying attention only to her extraordinary appearance and suggesting to wear a ball gown for the next number. On the advice of a friend, Daria went to the Leps team.

Daria Stavrovich:- You saw what surprise and bewilderment among mentors and viewers caused my appearance on Channel One! I'm in shock myself. I did not know that television still has such a powerful influence on our people.

Igor Lobanov:- This is done not so much for the SLOT group or Nuka's solo project, but for the development of alternative music in general. In our country there are no tools to promote this direction, heavy music is outside the show business system, it is not supported in any way. This wall cannot be broken. We hope to create a gap in it with the help of Nuka, so that such teams can also show themselves. Maybe the system will understand that it is possible and necessary to work with such music. The SLOT Group will be 15 years old in 2016. Not a penny has been invested in us, we are still unformatted, we are not in rotation anywhere. And how in this context to communicate with Eternity? Therefore, Nuki's trip to the "Voice" is, perhaps, just a conversation with Eternity from the back door.

I. L.:- I can't sing like Nuki.

D.S.:- Cash and I agreed: if I go to The Voice, then he goes to Rap Battle TV (laughs). By the way, there are even more views than the "Voice".

- For the "blind auditions" contest, you chose the composition Zombie by The Cranberries, which is not quite typical for your genre. Is this such a smart move?

D.S.:- In general, at the casting, I performed KoRn. The admissions committee said: "It's certainly cool, but not a hit." Reasonable environment won. I had to choose a song that people know well.

I.L.:- In any case, everyone went nuts! Not only because Nuki, a representative of the informal scene, ended up on this show, but more because of how she did it! Physiologically phenomenal performance. Even Gagarina grabbed her throat, because she is a professional and understands how extreme the singing was. You still need to look for people like Nuki. Their units. Nuki has already done everyone on this project, including Panayotov. The video of her number on YouTube has collected 1.5 million views in a few days!

- Is it important for you to win this project?

D.S.:- Don't even know. I read the contract and realized: it’s better not to win. Otherwise, you will fall into a kind of slavery. I don't want to be a slave. I don't want to take part in the show around the country, especially with cover songs. I'm not going to turn into a corporate cover artist.

I.L.:- Ideally, if Nuki won, and she would be forbidden to tour, like Hieromonk Photius (laughs).

- If Grigory Leps had not turned to you, which of the mentors would have been chosen?

D.S.:- Don't know. Leps gives freedom. His entire team is left to its own devices. It's important for me. I know that Agutin really works with his team himself. As a musician, I respect him very much, but he does not have the same emotional palette that I have. I think he would not understand a lot and, perhaps, would not allow me in terms of creativity. And Leps, figuratively speaking, does not care. I choose the songs myself. But they, apart from Leps, still have to be approved by Yuri Aksyuta. As long as my choice suits them.

- Are you familiar with the work of Dima Bilan? Can you sing at least one of his songs?

D.S.:– Oh, unexpected question! (Laughs). I know his most, probably, shameful song from his early work about "Mulatto Chocolate". As an artist, he fries well, I saw a couple of performances. Singing live - well done!

I.L.:- And I know two whole songs of Bilan: “Night Hooligan” and “The Impossible is Possible”.

Let's go back to your mentor. What is Grigory Leps in character?

D.S.:- I don’t know if Leps is good or evil. He is an anarchist. Man without bills. He has his natural drive. I think he is attracted to my style of singing. Once he dropped the phrase: “I don’t understand why I haven’t heard you before.” Many people think that mentors at blind auditions play for the audience: they say that they do not know some artists by sight - in particular, me. This is not a base. They didn't really know the SLOT group! It seems that we live in the same country, but it turns out that we are absolutely in parallel universes.

- Who from the Leps team impresses you the most?

D.S.:- I am attracted by the fact that he has accumulated completely different characters in his team. Cool dude Kirill Babiev, who sang on the "blind" Linkin Park - he went to Leps, and I understand why. And to whom else?

- With whom from your team would you like to participate in "fights"?

D.S.:- There are some young ladies who completely fall out of my understanding of music and life in general. I wouldn't sing with them. Fortunately, Leps understands this too.

- Are you ready to put on the ball gown in which Leps so wanted to see you?

D.S.:- Of course not! And Leps immediately changed his mind.

- Give advice to aspiring singers who, like you, want to master screaming (a vocal technique based on the split ligament technique). How to learn without harming the voice?

D.S.:- Voice production should be done only with a professional teacher, this is done in opera schools. This is important, otherwise you will not sing for a long time. And then everyone starts their own schools. I learned how to scream by myself: at first I listened, removed the equipment, groaned, spat. Then I found my style and took a few lessons from experts.

D.S.:- You need to get enough sleep, and preferably, when you are sick, do not give stress on your voice. Which, alas, is almost impossible at our pace of life. I will honestly say: yes, sometimes I had to go on stage sick. And for all the practice there was only one concert that I did not cancel and still regret it. Nothing good came of it: the concert turned out to be unsuccessful, and then I felt very bad. It is not always necessary to climb the embrasure.

– Does a rock musician need a professional vocal education?

D.S.:- Vocal education is the elimination of musical illiteracy, nothing more. I have an education because my mother needed a crust.

I.L:- I also graduated from the university, however, sports, exclusively for dad. It was good for him that I have a crust. If suddenly I have children, I definitely won’t insist on getting a higher education. I consider it a waste of time.

- Dasha, you have been in the SLOT group for ten years. At what period did you realize that you are not just a vocalist, but a real frontwoman? How quickly did the guys accept you into the team and gave you freedom of action?

D.S.:- It was a smooth process associated with the acquisition of experience, not only stage. It seems to me that from the album "Trinity" I began to feel at home.

I.L.:- The main thing is not even the decision and not the right to vote in the team. Nuki not only sings, but also comes up with a lot of musical and textual material. From the album "Trinity" Nuki declared herself as a good musician, and with subsequent records - as a lyricist.

- Do you continue to learn something from the guys?

D.S.:- Undoubtedly. It seems to me that we ourselves, each individually, continue to learn something. It's an endless process.

I.L.:“You can learn something from anyone. And for Nuki, in general, you have to reach out all the time in many ways. She's such a stimulating element in our group.

- Igor, besides creative moments, what did Dasha bring to the group? Maybe she taught you how to cook deliciously or keep clean?

I.L.:- I taught you how to eat well! And don't clean up after yourself! (Laughs).

D.S.:- I am a completely anti-domestic person.

- In 2011, you recorded the song "Lanterns" with the Voronezh group "Obe-Rek". Do you plan to collaborate with any of our countrymen?

D.S.:– Now most of the bands are a bit out of style for me. In general, I am very selective about co-creation: if the song blows my head straight, then you can.

- Your new album Septima, like the previous "Sixth", was recorded with the financial support of fans. Have you ever participated in crowdfunding yourself?

D.S.:- No. Unfortunately, we are not yet in a position to help financially.

I.L.:– I once helped the familiar musicians. They suggested: “Come on now, you will throw money to us, and then we will to you!”. That's what they decided (laughs).

– One of the most expensive lots for your shareholders on the crowdfunding platform was a “perpetual ticket” for two persons to SLOT concerts. Whose concerts are you ready to go to forever?

I.L.:- Yes, it's boring! Then the band will need to change the program very often so that I don't get bored. There is hardly an artist whose concert I would go to, say, three times in a row.

D.S.:- I would go. I would definitely go to Meshuggah, but they rarely come to Russia. I would go to Björk, of course. Unfortunately, it is also a rare bird in our country.

– You have a cover of Björk. Do you pay her any money?

D.S.:- No. We only did this cover live. Now, according to the law, you can’t even post it on YouTube, they immediately ban it. Although the song is hard to recognize.

How do you feel about covers of yourself?

D.S.:- Great. We even specially post backing tracks on social networks so that everyone can sing.

I.L.:– By the way, we have already missed two albums. We should collect backing tracks from them - it will be a great gift for fans for the New Year!

- Dasha, you once said that happiness is when a person does not stand still, looking for new goals, and the phrase “I tried it for the first time” becomes his motto. What did you do for the first time in 2016?

D.S.:- I went to India, took part in The Voice, as a viewer visited the Sziget festival in Budapest and a few other small movements. The coolest impression on me was probably made by Sziget. This festival conquered me with everything, starting from the infrastructure (we still have to grow and grow before it) and ending with its multi-musicality. There was such a “delicious” vinaigrette! During the day, Sigur Ros performs, in the evening Sia, Rihanna - all on the same stage. There are also seven different venues. Just awesome! They don’t have such a strict division of genres among the audience as we have in Russia: when you go to a concert, it’s as if you take on some kind of confession. They take it easier there: pop, rap and rock fans coexist perfectly together. Because of this, it seemed to me that people there are happier. We have a very developed continuity of generations: the father listens to "Alice", the eldest son, the youngest son, grandchildren. And not a step left or right.

I.L.:- In Russia, if you listen to a certain genre of music, then you must definitely have some kind of position. “You may not be a poet, but you must be a citizen” - this is how it happens with us.

- Do you often listen to "third-party" music? How did you get carried away to the 30 Seconds To Mars concert in 2015?

D.S.:- I often get taken to strange concerts. And it was the most boring concert in my life! We slept there. I don't know what people in this group find. The most important thing that I took out for myself is that 30 Seconds To Mars on records and live are completely different things. In the studio they are very beautiful and well written. And live - these are some terrible choral chants with an acoustic guitar.

I.L.:“At the same time, we really like their album A Beautiful Lie - it's beautiful. After him, as I see it, 30 Seconds To Mars was taken over by a terrible producer from U2 and produced.

- Dash, but in a purely feminine way, Jared Leto is handsome?

D.S.:“I don't believe him. It's like he's playing a rock star. And visually it annoys me. At first, he was quite natural, he had a drive. And then he deflated and turned into some kind of doll that makes movements taken from various rock musicians. For me, Jared Leto is faceless.

- Tell me, in what mood do you compose better - sad or cheerful?

I.L.:– You can’t catch this state. Sometimes there is a feeling that you are not writing it yourself, but someone is controlling you. Like an obsession. At some point, I realized that the Moscow metro works well for me.

- How often do you see you there?

I.L.:- Constantly. I am a pedestrian. I do not know how to drive. And I don't want to. I have several reasons not to.

D.S.:- I am also a pedestrian and do not plan to change into a car yet. Cash generally says that I can’t drive. I am a fan of the scooter, a very positive mode of transport.

Do they recognize you on the street?

D.S.:- Often enough. And after the broadcast in the "Voice" in general, some kind of boom began. There was such a short period of time, literally a few hours, when I thought: “Oh, it seems that I woke up famous!”. People come up on the street and ask simple human questions out of curiosity - mostly about Leps, what he is like. Or they wish good luck, they say to tear everyone there! I enjoy this kind of attention. It is positive and unobtrusive.

- What are you like outside the stage when you don’t have to put on makeup, put on outrageous costumes?

D.S.:- Well, I'm not going anywhere with dreadlocks! (Laughs). I don't change much in my life. If suddenly I am carried into a trolleybus, grandmothers may even cross themselves at the sight of me.

This fall, Daria Stavrovich passed to the second stage of the Voice show. Heavy music lovers know her as Nuki, or the frontwoman of the alternative rock band Slot. In a blind audition, she wowed the jury with a "disgusting" rendition of the '90s hit Zombie. But Nuki chose the most “driven” of them - Grigory Leps.

- Daria, why do you need to participate in such a pop project as "Voice"?

In short: enlightenment and just having fun. And those who are somehow familiar with our modern rock scene, let them look with new eyes at everything that happens.

- Doesn't it bother you that the show is mostly pop directions?

“They are different, completely different. The format of the show, in my opinion, is still done by the participants themselves. I choose what I sing, how I sing, how I look.

Why did you choose Zombie for your blind audition?

— Because all the other compositions suitable for me were too brutal and unknown. And it's still a hit. A reasonable environment won and said: “Yes, Dash, you need to sing the song that people more or less know. At least for the blind.

- Would you go to another mentor if Leps had not turned around?

- I think not. I don't know what I would do there. Firstly, I know that Leps gives a certain freedom. It seems to me that his entire team, plus or minus, is left to itself. For me it's good. Agutin, by the way, is really doing something with his own. As a musician, I respect him very much, but he, of course, does not have the emotional palette that I have. It just seems to me that he would not have understood a lot and would not have allowed it at some stages. And Leps - do not care! (slams his hand on the table and smiles).

You turn into some kind of corporate cover artist, and they squeeze the juice out of you there. We also agreed with Cash (the second soloist of the Slot group): if I go to Golos, then he goes to a rap battle (laughs).

December 11, 2016, 19:50

I confess honestly that I learned about the existence of this girl only from the show "Voice". Earlier I heard about the Slot group, but that was a long time ago and I only listened to a couple of their songs. In these songs, Teona Dolnikova was the soloist. She had no complaints. She's great and sings great. There was a clear division of labor. The guy growled, yelled and read, and Theona sang beautifully.

Here is a song that I once listened to the holes.

Then I tried to find something else interesting for myself, but I didn’t see Teona from them anymore. there was some other girl, I didn't like what I heard and I forgot about them for many years.

Then somehow at work I have one girl. who went all in tattoos and with dreadlocks and seemed to sing in some local spill group, told me that her idol is the lead singer of the Slot group. I also asked her: “Theon Dolnikov?”, But she replied that Theon was a hundred years ago, and now there is another one and now she is an idol.

When I saw Daria's performance on the Voice show and heard that she sings in the Slot group, I immediately understood where my colleague's dreadlocks grow from))))

It was interesting for me to listen to her precisely in order to understand why she is so good that she is even an idol for someone. She sang the song "Zombit", I always really liked the song in the original. I didn’t like Daria’s performance, I don’t like it when they yell like that. But I liked Daria with her unusual appearance, her abs))) and her drive. It needs to be watched in conjunction with sound, and not just listened to. Otherwise, the effect is much weaker (for me personally).

Daria chose Leps and I was wondering what he could offer her in the next stages. Or let her be herself. or will remake it into a "girl".

Her second performance in the show "Voice" seemed to me just no. It seemed to me that the choice of a song is banal for Daria, like they are yelling, Jareth Leto is yelling, Dasha is yelling - they are made for each other)))) And on the other hand, it is unfair to the second participant, because this is clearly not his story and putting them together in this song means initially giving it a head start. Leps simply merged the second participant, Oleg Kondrakov, in this way. Usually if I like the number. then I watch it several times. I didn't even finish watching this one.

I am very glad that Oleg was saved by Dima Bilan, because further Oleg showed what he really is worth. He sang a very difficult song very well. Touched me with his number.

At the next stage, Daria sang the song "Circles on the Water", I unexpectedly liked the song and I even listened to it several times, but what do I hear during discussions? It was a song written by Daria herself ... i.e. again a handicap, again dishonest... Naturally, if her song, then the song was written specifically for her voice, for her capabilities. Naturally, Daria will look organically, because she performed this song a hundred times. And again the question: "Why such injustice?" After all, there are no random people in this show. Here everyone is creative, with experience, with education. here half of 100% have some songs of their own. But for some reason, everyone else sings world hits, and Daria is allowed to sing her song. Why doesn't Panayotov sing his own songs? It's kind of forbidden from what I've heard. but for some reason they made an exception for Daria ... It seems that mentors should teach something new here? Either Leps simply does not know what to do with her and what to offer her, so he left her to herself ... But I liked the song and Daria looked organic ...

And this week, I just fell apart. She was given the song Björk. I love Björk and I love this song, the music is cool there and Björk's vocals, as always, are unusual and somehow cosmic. Although I read a lot of positive reviews in the comments to Daria's performance, but in my opinion she just screwed up the song ... She couldn't show anything at all ... She just shook her head ... I think that after this performance she was needed, objectively , expel ... She is charismatic and she is good in her image and in her work, but this is not about the show "Voice" ... I was just shocked that she made it to the final ... Or maybe I I don't understand. I have no musical education, I rely only on my feelings and emotions from what I hear... Maybe I don't understand something? What do you think?
