Do you continue to act in serials, despite the fact that you hate them?

As for The Pack, I like this series. We play there with Alexei Serebryakov. Under the circumstances, this is somewhat reminiscent of "Ten Little Indians." Interesting and creative work.

I am often asked: “Who are you filming for?” I say: “What do you care? You don't know anyone anyway!" Stas Mareev shoots, from St. Petersburg. In my opinion, a promising young director. I never said that TV shows are shit, that I hate them. I spoke, firstly, about specific works, and secondly, that there should be no difference between a movie and a series. And we have serials that have nothing to do with cinema - this is a hack, a conveyor set up by rogue producers. They don't care what they show people who will watch it - they need to steal money. But there is also the TV series "Brigade" - this is a professionally made movie, filmed on 16 mm film, with a budget. People wanted to create a quality product and make money on it - and they did it.

Do you have clear criteria for a good movie?

If from the inside, then a good movie is when professionals work on the set. Many young artists think they are the main ones. Yes, nothing like that! The set is a team. Director, cameraman, actors, artists, lighting - a lot depends on each of them. I made this conclusion after filming the TV series "Guardian Angel" in two hundred and fifty episodes, after half of which I just got up and left. It's impossible to work when people don't understand anything about filmmaking at all. Sometimes it feels like they are recruited in the construction market and stupidly assigned to positions. So, films should be shot by professionals - this is the first and main condition. At the same time, whether it will work out in the end or not is a completely different question.

What then does it depend on?

During filming, it is impossible to understand. "Boomer" was filmed for three kopecks, sometimes there was not even tea on the set, production was stopped several times - but the film turned out! And sometimes helicopters fly for you, two hundred people in the film crew, a million dollar budget - and the movie fails. Of course, there are certain projects that can be calculated one hundred percent. "Zhmurki", for example. From the very beginning it was clear that the whole country would watch it. Moreover, even the masters of Soviet cinema liked the movie. Vladimir Abramovich Etush, at eighty-four, laughed madly. I thought he wouldn’t understand it at all, and he said, “Wow, what a good movie!”

This is pure comic book parody. In principle, I know people who, after the first viewing of Zhmurok, did not stick in what it was all about. I can not explain. It is enough for me to look a person in the eye - and I understand everything about him. I'm never wrong. So, Balabanov is evil. But talented.

And how was it for you to shoot with an evil director?

For me, the film "Zhmurki" is also a calculation. I didn't have much work at the time. And I didn’t need series or episodes, but a serious project where I would have the main role. And I knew one hundred percent that "Zhmurki" would trample. I do not like the word "career" in relation to my profession, but in that case it was absolutely a career step. Yes, the money was good.

And how much money do you need?

Don't know. The numbers cannot be named.

And how often is your consent to participate in the filming - this is a calculation and money?

At least half the time.

Don't you think that by doing this you only spoil your reputation?

Corruption. But I have a mother, grandfather, daughter Nyusya. I always remember them.

So if you didn't star in half of your projects, they would starve?

Of course not. But there is another story... I always hope for the best. With every dubious proposal, I think that last time there was a bad example, that this will not happen again, now everything will be different. This is my bad trait. I subconsciously understand that the project is shit, but I still agree. Then I hate myself all the way, spit in my face every morning, trying to break something. And after that, some say that it is impossible to work with me because I am “difficult”. Every time I stumble upon the same rake...

And when will you stop?

I've already stopped. Lately, if I am offered a role, I ask questions that are not customary to ask in the acting environment. For example: “How many cameras will be on set?”

And how much is needed?

I don't understand what two or three cameras are! For fights or chases, you can use at least twenty, but, in fact, a movie should be shot alone! And I want to know what the lens will be, what size - a lot depends on this. And when you are filmed with three cameras, one of which takes a long shot, the other - medium, and the third - close-up, I just don't understand how I should act!

On the set of which film did you feel most comfortable?

With rare exceptions, I feel comfortable with almost all the masters of Soviet cinema. With Igor Fedorovich Maslennikov, with Alla Ilinichnaya Surikova. With great warmth, I remember what happened on the site of Roman Gurgenovich Balayan (the film "The Night is Bright." - Approx. OK!). We had picnics there as a group. It was in a good Soviet cinema and the very atmosphere that I love. Not a production project - schedule, footage, seconds, and let's go crazy - but it's a joint work. In general, I appreciate the process most of all in the cinema. And you ask those people whom I listed: was it difficult for them to work with me? Everyone will say no. But they usually don’t ask them, but Merezhko or some other artists who can’t do anything, don’t see and recruit the same sheep on the set. It's really hard for them to deal with me! Because I can't stand non-professionals. In the series "Soldiers", the director of photography, who was picked up somewhere on television, did not know what an elementary "eight" was! How can this be?!

And what is the "elementary eight"?

This is when you and I are sitting at the table, and the camera, for example, is behind my right shoulder. They take you down. But when they shoot me, the camera should be moved and put on your left shoulder. The director of photography of the series "Soldiers" in the same situation dragged the camera by the right. Confused the axis in the elementary "eight"! This simply cannot be, if a person knows how to shoot.

Have you had any punctures during your career? Did anyone scold you on the set?

Yes and let! It doesn't matter if he told me the truth or not. It is important that he and all other people generally caught me in my life. They instilled in me such confidence that nothing can break me in the profession. And no one has ever complained about my work. To behavior - yes, to character - yes, but to work - no. By the way, this really worries me now. Because of this, I relaxed, I leave on those stamps that I acquired over ten years of work in the cinema. (Pretends to be on set.) “So, what are we playing? Love?" This is my stamp number three. "Tragedy?" This is number four... I'm not getting anything new. A huge “thank you” for this to those filmmakers who are now shooting a crazy amount of material in which there is nothing to play at all.

And what to do with it?

Don't know. I really want to start making my own. We with one girl, Masha Ozerenko - she graduated from the director's course with Khotinenko - wrote the script. These are three short stories about love in different styles, not connected in any way. Such an absolutely author's cinema, non-commercial, which in our country no one needs in FIG.

So it's true! Who wants to think about anything right now? Look at today's girls - for most of them, a Louis Vuitton bag has become the meaning of life! And it doesn't matter that this bag was bought from a Bedouin in the passage for five dollars. As they say in Odessa, a good show is more valuable than money.

What area did you grow up in?

And you want to say that it was better there in Soviet times? Did your company talk about lofty things and watch Tarkovsky?

They might not have watched Tarkovsky, but the ideals and values ​​of life were completely different! We didn’t live with bags or stockings. Relationships between people came first. With all the horror of that time, there were some limits, norms. I don’t understand why NTV now shows half-naked women with pet artists on New Year’s Eve? Why is it all? I have said a hundred times and will continue to say: do not teach children to swear - they will learn on their own. It is not necessary for them to show naked aunts from the age of five - then they themselves will go to the store and buy everything that interests them. But that's when they're adults! In the meantime, they are children, they need to instill only good and kind. I have already decided that my daughter will live in an information blockade until a certain age. No TV, only old Soviet cartoons, Soviet cinema. Everything else will be strictly prohibited. Of course, in the process of growing up, she will communicate more and more with her peers, and I will have to give her information about the other world. But very dosed.

Did your parents forbid you anything?

Certainly. I grew up in a normal Soviet family. No later than nine in the evening to go to bed, no later than eight in the morning to get up - all this was. On Saturday you can watch a movie as early as 21.40, after the program "Time" ...

Now you are talking so much about values, about upbringing, but your children have also seen your "Blind Man's Bluff". What then are all these arguments worth?

I know for sure that some kind of limit has come for me. At a certain point, I began to realize that I was becoming a prostitute, and I was horrified. Now I wouldn’t star in Zhmurki, I’m telling you for sure.

By the way, I noticed that you rarely shoot twice with the same director. Why aren't you called?

Someone calls, someone does not - it happens in different ways. It happens that I simply do not coincide with one of the directors in terms of schedules, but it happens ... You see, due to my character and life circumstances, I once lived, let's say, to the fullest. Sometimes he did such things that even people who treated me well doubted whether they needed Alexei Panin on the set.

For example?

Maslennikov was supposed to shoot me for the second time, but then another actor played instead of me. I am sure, only because Igor Fedorovich was told: Panin drinks.

Did you drink?

For a while, yes. I haven't drunk for three years now. And then I had a big breakdown, I really ruined my reputation. And it cost me a lot of strength to get out of all this and return to normal.

It is curious at the same time that Mikhail Efremov continues to be filmed.

But if he didn't drink, he would have even more jobs! Notice that many are ready to shoot Efremov, but only in small roles. In big ones - no, they are afraid. If I were a director, I wouldn't be afraid. Because Efremov is a talented actor, personality. I would be ready to wait for two weeks of downtime for the sake of this person.

If possible, we will return to your family. Do you really need children?

Yes. I really wanted a child. I ordered it for myself for New Years. I remember how I stood at twelve o'clock, under the chimes, and asked God to give me a daughter. And she turned out the way I wanted. She already understands everything. She looks like a completely grown-up person.

Do you see each other often?

If I'm not on set, then almost every day. Sometimes I allow myself some relaxation and instead of communicating with her, I go to sit with someone in a restaurant, but this rarely happens. And when Nyusya is older, I will generally take her with me to the shooting and we will see each other all the time.

Why did you and her mom separate so quickly? They write that Yulia almost wants to steal your child from you, does not allow you to meet with him ...

Do you lose feelings quickly?

No. But the story here is not entirely clear. There are things that I just don’t want to make public, and it makes no sense to talk about it in hints, in a veiled way either. I can only say that Nyusia, thank God, still has a mom and dad. She will not be deprived of communication and care from either side.

Have you and Yulia not even considered the issue of staying together for the sake of the child?

And we kind of live together. There was no such thing that we divided the property and fled to different corners. We didn’t even have a conversation that, they say, that’s it, from today we disperse. It's just that each of us now lives our own lives. At the same time, half of my things are in the apartment where Yulia lives. I can sleep there. In general, my things are scattered in different places: with my mother, with my grandfather and with Yulia. So I have no idea where I live.

Are you letting a lot of things go by your own in your life?

There is no self. Everything depends on the Almighty. Life, it is wiser than us, it will taxi to the right place.

In terms of?

Everything is known in advance, absolutely! You should never say: “Lord, why am I doing this!” We must ask: “Lord, why do I need this?” And look for an answer. We go through some trials for a reason - we get something important in return. Many events in my life seemed to me a tragedy, I did not know how to survive it. And now I look back and understand that it was necessary, thanks to this I became wiser. Everything God does is for the best. Because God loves us.

Do you love people?

Yes. I am generally a kind person. I can break loose, send someone far away, but then I apologize, even if I was essentially right. Because I feel sorry for the person I offended. He is human after all! And when I send someone, it is not from the point of view of the actor, but from my own point of view. People perceive this as a star disease, and this is my character simply. If I were a locksmith, I would behave in exactly the same way.
