Dancing is popular among people of all ages, genders and nationalities. After all, they make it possible to maintain oneself in excellent physical shape, improve flexibility, relax, cheer up and more. Those who have moved from the category of amateurs to professionals or want to become professionals create dance classes.

Brainstorm

Most of the already formed groups, and sometimes training together for quite a long period, are faced with the problem: what to come up with the name of the dance group. It would seem, what could be easier? But in practice, things are more complicated. Let's figure out how to get out of this rather difficult situation. After all, be that as it may, for each of them it is required - the name of the dance group.

First of all, the name must be invented not for one person, not even for the leader, but for the whole dance group to be involved in this undertaking. In other words, arrange a real brainstorming session. Each idea that will be proposed in its course, write down and consider. And although at first it seems that they do not make sense, it later turns out that it was this idea that helped decide what to name the dance group. Therefore, it is worth writing down all the ideas that arose during the discussion.

The main thing to keep in mind is the fact that the name of a dance group should reflect its essence, style, mood, energy, personality, even age category. That is, the name of the group should reflect the very essence of the dance group. So it is impossible to treat this issue negligently. After all, as they say, whatever you call a ship, so it will sail.

Basic rules for naming a dance group

Of course, the name of a dance group is a purely creative process, but even it provides for the observance of certain rules. These little tricks will allow you to create exactly the option that will be able to reflect the essence of the dance group:

  • When choosing a name, consider the genre style of the group, for example, a modern dance ensemble is one style. Accordingly, the name should be suitable for this genre. Hip-hop dance groups should have a completely different name to match this style.
  • Also consider the age category, because the name for the children's team requires simpler words and their combinations, more understandable and easy to remember, especially by its members.
  • The name should be harmonious, easy to pronounce, no need to use tricky words, even if you really like how interesting they sound. Also avoid long words.
  • Start from the national identity of the dance that the group is engaged in.
  • If you decide to come up with a name for a dance group consisting of several words, be sure to make sure that they blend well with each other and form a single whole. But do not get carried away with the length of the name, otherwise it will be difficult to remember.
  • You should not choose as the name of your group those that will overlap with existing ones, no matter how much you like them. The thing is that, one way or another, people, having heard it, will draw analogies. And sometimes, unwittingly, they will compare your team with those who already have a similar name. And no one guarantees that this comparison will be in your favor.
  • Use familiar, understandable words for you, for example, some elements of dance, style, costume, country of origin of the dance direction, and so on.
  • Remember that the name is the first impression of the team. That is, the viewer, without even seeing the performance, after the announcement of a group of dancers, having heard its name, already draws a certain image for himself, and he has a certain impression in advance.
  • Do not forget also about humor, because it often saves the most hopeless situation, including the search for a name for a dance group. Of course, there is no need to step over the line, it is worth remembering the norms of morality. And the name with humor is not suitable for every team.
  • When looking for a name for a children's dance group, avoid complex words and phrases, choose those that dance class participants can easily pronounce on their own and understand their essence.

Dance eras

An excellent solution for how to name a dance group would be a temporary era. Especially if the dances are themed. Or the direction of the dance, some of its foundations, movements were invented in those days. For example, a group that is engaged in ancient dances may be called "Baroque" or "Renaissance". But be careful, the children's dance group does not go well with complex and catchy names. By the way, some syllables can be cut off from the names of eras, as a result of which new words can be obtained, which will become the sonorous name of the dance group.

For ballroom dance groups, the names "Belle Epoque", "Medival" may be suitable. Taking a historical era or a temporary passage as a basis for the name, do not forget about the stylistic orientation of the team. After all, for example, for a group engaged in Latin American dances, the name "Decadence" is unlikely to be appropriate. But do not be too zealous in the historical binding of the name of the team.

Dance group style

The genre direction of the dance group is another clue in the difficult task of choosing a name for it. For example, if you are engaged, it is worth somehow beating this in the name of the group. The same applies to ballrooms: more sophisticated, slightly elevated, graceful names are suitable here. For a hip-hop dance group and other modern dances, there is room to turn around. By the way, if your repertoire contains some frequently performed numbers or a visiting card dance, then you can use their name as the name of the group. Choose names that are unusual, have a special meaning for your group, and are able to present you in the right way. Subsequently, the viewer will associate both the dance itself, regardless of its performer, and the word itself with your team.

Name and locality

It will be very interesting and original to use the names of rivers, lakes, mountains and other geographical objects as the name of a dance group. You can even call the group some kind of architectural monuments, famous tourist places. For example, the group "Versailles" or "Foggy Albion", or "Pyramid of Cheops". Or "Volga Patterns" - the name also speaks of the area, and hints at the style, reflects it, that is, it immediately becomes clear that the dance group is engaged in a folk direction.

Elements of dance

A good idea for the name of the group can also be the names of some dance steps or elements, movements that are specific to your stylistic direction. As a rule, they are harmonious, bright, besides, having heard them, one can immediately guess what genre the group performs in.

The very name of the style can also serve as the name of the team. But keep in mind that in this case it is easy to end up with the same name with other groups, because this technique is used by many. After all, it is quite simple.

euphony

Do not forget that the name should be easy to pronounce, be pleasant to the ear, not cut it. Of course, some people are betting on originality and the fact that a harsh word will make a person remember the name faster. But, as practice shows, it is easier for people to remember what they liked. Try to insert the chosen name of the group into different phrases and sentences, decline it. Then you can understand how good it sounds.

Ease of perception

The age category of the teams is different, and even more so the audience. Therefore, the name must be selected taking into account that it is easy to understand, both for small fans and parents, grandparents of the team members. Therefore, ultra-modern expressions should still be avoided, the only exception is groups that choose the latest trends in dance. Many call dance groups foreign words. This is a good move, but make sure that the chosen word is easy to pronounce even for those who do not know foreign languages.

Of course, coming up with the name of a dance group is troublesome, but it's worth it. After all, by choosing the right name for the group, you will thereby create a better impression about it and the necessary reputation.

I understand, I'm very "on time", but rushing ...) Does anyone have children / children of acquaintances go to choreography-dances? Where can we find a decent place for a five-year-old girl? From the nearest that I know - ballroom dancing in school 903 (I don’t want it for a number of reasons), dancing in the recreation center Zagorye (the time is not right), in the recreation center ZIL (where we go now, and where I don’t like it) and the recently opened sports school acrobatics (from 6 years old). Where to go??? Ready to carry within reasonable limits, if only there was a sense.

Upon completion of education, a state-recognised certificate is issued. The rigidity of the Russian system of music education is recognized by all teachers, not to mention the boys from intelligent families who regularly try to lock the piano and throw away the key. “Abroad, the system of teaching music is based on preparing musicians for group performance - playing in an orchestra, ensemble,” explains Serafima Sevostyanova. “We have everything much more severe: the student is focused on solo performance of music, which requires very serious preparation. There are also simplified methods of learning to play even without the ability to read notes - for example, when guitar chords are recorded using the so-called tablature method (the student sees a picture of a guitar neck, on which it is drawn which strings, on which fret and which fingers need to be pressed). "This is a simplified way of recording music, and it has big drawbacks," says Sergey Smolyakov, guitar teacher. "You can only play and pick up a familiar melody." However, quite...

Hello,
I have an important question, perhaps determining my future life.
The fact is that until a certain point in my life (10 years old) (right now I’m 15 years old) I didn’t like music, in particular the sounds of the guitar. But at the age of 10 I got fired up with the desire to play the guitar. to courses (a little everywhere) and actually learned to play the guitar (at least I think that I know the basics), right now I sometimes compose my own music
What would you advise me to do? - try to enter somewhere in music and guitar (but I didn’t finish music school) or maybe not even try? about graduating from a music school, I don’t know salfegio, because it also needs to be taken) - a catastrophe? Or is it still possible to learn everything in two years, and then act?
Once again I repeat that I have been playing the guitar since I was 10 years old.

Tchaikovsky or in the finale of the piano concerto by D. Kabalevsky. The same thing happens with song and dance. “The movement of musical thought,” the composer writes, “getting food from the environment, will continue and will gain more and more strength.” Another important direction of D.Kabalevsky's system we would call the Socrates method. Children, according to Dmitry Borisovich, come to certain conclusions not as a result of lectures or stories from which they fall asleep, but themselves. Thinking and talking about music. With the help of leading questions from the teacher. In our case, dads or moms. Well, for example: - What is needed to make a song? — Composer. — What else? The child thought. One can also speak of a method that has taken place, tested by time, because everything he did could be see and . The world was amazed by his amazing ensembles of 4-5 year old violinists from 100-200 children, who performed the music of Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven cleanly and in sync. A wonderful teacher died in 1998, and there are no those who could fully repeat the feat of Suzuki. Apparently, the point here is not only in the uniqueness of the method, but also in the uniqueness of the teacher. What is the Suzuki Method? Three points can be made with certainty. All children are musical. According to the Japanese...

I appeal to those whose children go to the music school. How realistic is it to combine it with a comprehensive school? We have a fairly strong educational (mathematical) + it is also considered a full-time school. And a strong musician. Now the child is in the first grade (!!) and in the music school only in senior training and SUCH problems! I will not list now how many nerves it cost me to coordinate the schedule. And today the nanny once again heard from the teacher in the general education ...

Thanks to all who answered! We will try our best to do it :)

It seems to me that it is quite realistic to combine, but you say that your secondary school is a full-time school. In this case, you really have to beat out either the music school and the regular school or your full-time school. Our school is a full day school. Leaving school early is almost impossible. :(

In our music school, dissatisfied teachers can scold the child, then scold the parents (as a rule, those who have not received a musical education, but who believe that this is the only way to do it).
For my child, I very carefully chose a teacher, the instrument was secondary. The child wanted a different instrument (he is now the second), but he loves the one that I chose as the easiest to start learning, given the nature of the child and the presence of an excellent teacher.
"Why learn to play an instrument if you won't play in an orchestra?" - the question of my first-grader daughter. It would be good for parents to think about this.
My daughter studied at a music school for a year, she listens thoughtfully to music, she is interested in the instruments in the orchestra, she can share her impressions, you can talk about music with her, she knows how to listen to it. Her performances at home holidays at home, in children's groups are admired by adults and children. It is clear that she is a student, but those who do not know how to play at all perceive her enthusiastically and want to study like her too. I was surprised by such a reaction, I considered such performances a common thing.
Children have a pleasant and useful activity at home, computer games are forgotten. Music classes bring up character (this is very important for us), give the experience of communicating with children, united by a common interest, with different teachers. Exams and participation in concerts are a great test and preparation for life.

Names of creative teams as a category of proper names

VI city scientific conference of students

NAMES OF CREATIVE TEAM

AS A RANGE OF PROPER NAMES.

English grammar school

10 "A" class

Scientific adviser:

Evsyukova O.N.

Magadan

Proper names are studied in such a branch of the science of language as onomastics, which, translated from Greek, means “the art of giving names.” The material we are studying - the names of creative teams - is usually called ergonyms in onomastics.

Proper names, highlighting objects from a number of homogeneous ones, are designed to reflect their individual, unique features. Therefore, it can be assumed that ergonyms should reflect the individual features of creative teams. What features of the collectives are reflected in the names as the main ones? To determine this, our study was carried out. The following tasks were set before us: to determine the structure of ergonyms, to establish the methods of their formation and to identify the naming criteria.

19 ergonyms were used as material. The list contains the names of vocal ensembles, dance groups, theater groups, etc.

According to the structure, the proper names of the category of interest to us consist mainly of one word (for example, "Dream", "Variation", "Victoria", "Roly-Poly" and many others) or, less often, from the phrase ("Kolyma stars" , "A new style"). That is, there are no ergonyms that would contain a whole sentence, as in the name of the popular group "Nogu Svelo".

As a result of the word-formation analysis, it was found that the studied names of creative teams were formed in productive ways in onomastics. Firstly, by moving a word or phrase into the category of proper names, and secondly, by adding abbreviated stems. Let's take a closer look at each group. (Pay attention to Appendix 2).

In the first method of education, combinations of words ("Masha and the Bears"), and phrases ("Accident", "Gone with the Wind"), and even sentences ("The leg was cramped", "Hands up!") . However, the most active fund of proper names, including ergonyms, is replenished by moving to the category of proper names of one word. Common nouns ("Twice two", "Bravo", "Brilliant", "Tea for two"), and own (group "Agatha Christie") can be used as a producing basis. This pattern was also confirmed in our material.

Quantitative analysis showed that most of the presented names were formed as a result of the transition of common nouns into proper ones. There are 17 such ergonyms.

What was used as producing bases?

Many names of creative teams are formed from common nouns. So the ergonyms "Dream", "Souvenir", "Variation", "Droplets", "Victoria", "Lubok", "Ryabinushka", "Kalinka" and "Tumblers" appeared.

One name is formed from a personal pronoun - this is the name of the variety dance ensemble "We".

For the ergonyms "New style", "Kolyma stars" the corresponding phrases served as the producing base - new style, Kolyma stars.

In our opinion, the formation of the ergonyms "Mini" and "Maxi" deserves special attention.

The name of the variety dance ensemble "Mini" was formed by transferring the invariable word mini into the category of proper names. In this name, the leaders of the group sought to indicate the age of the performers and therefore used the meaning "very small", meaning "small performers".

At first glance, the name of the dance group "Maxi" is formed in the same way as "Mini" - from a truncated word. However, the analysis revealed that the proper name "Maxi" was formed from the word maximum with simultaneous truncation of the generating stem.

The name of the group “DJ” appeared as follows: the transcription of the English abbreviation word “DJ” with the addition of the formant “s”, indicating the plural in English, passed into the category of proper names.

The names of the vocal ensembles "Magadan" and "Uptar" were formed by transferring one category of a proper name to another, that is, the names of the city and village - toponyms became the names of creative groups - ergonyms.

Thus, most of the names presented in the list are formed by the transition of words and phrases into the category of proper ones, and both proper words and common nouns are used as a generating base.

Another group of ergonyms according to the method of education consists of 2 names - the name of the puppet theater "Kichetoz" and the name of the school of stagecraft "TITR". (In Appendix 2 they are located on the right side of the table).

The ergonym "Kichetoz" is formed by adding the abbreviated stems of proper nouns: "Kichetoz" = Key Kimora + Che beetroot + That toshka + Behind yats.

The name of the group "Titr 2" was created according to the type of abbreviation, that is, from each word of the sentence " T allant And T ores R avno R result" is taken as the generating basis of the initial sounds. We note the unconventional use of the mathematical sign of the square, with the help of which the creators of the name sought to indicate the doubling of the consonant [r] from the words "equal" and "result".

The conducted word-formation analysis showed that the names of the presented creative teams were formed in traditional ways in onomastics.

As a result of personal conversations with leaders and members of creative teams, it was found out what criteria influenced the choice of names.

On the one hand, the motto of the collective is hidden in the name of the school of stagecraft “TITR”. (Recall that “ TITR" stands for " Talent and work equals result.") multiplied labor and multiplied talent greatly increase the result. If we also take into account that the word TITR in one of its meanings is related to cinematography as an art form, then we can say that the authors of the title managed to create a multifaceted, multidimensional name.

In the names “Victoria” and “Maxi” there is a dynamic, purposeful movement towards new achievements, while in the name “Dream” a different perception is revealed - romantic, in which the world of feelings prevails over everything else.

The names of the creative teams "Variation" and "New Style" embody the desire for original, unique forms.

In the name of the variety dance ensemble “We”, the meaning of the collective principle is strengthened, an application is made about the participants as a single whole.

In the name "DJ" the main thing was an indication of the work of the team in the modern dance direction.

A separate group includes the names of folklore groups. Traditional symbols of Russian folk art are used here. These are the ergonyms "Ryabinushka", "Kalinka", "Lubok". The first two names are associated with folk songs. In the name of the ensemble of spoons “Souvenir”, the authors tried in their own way to reflect the use of wooden spoons as a musical instrument, which at the same time are used as a traditional Russian souvenir.

The next group consists of the names of children's creative teams. In the name of the variety dance ensemble “Mini” lies the desire of the authors to move away from childhood and emphasize their involvement in the world of adults.

The puppet theater "Kichetoz" managed, in our opinion, managed to find the original name. Itself composed of the names of puppet heroes, the word is consonant with the name of some fairy-tale character.

For the names of the children's creative teams "Tumblers", "Droplets", "Kolyma Stars", the emotionally colored vocabulary of the diminutive-petting assessment is used, which is reflected in their word-formation structure with the help of suffixes. A roly-poly doll is a toy for everyone, which is steadily associated with the world of childhood. Asterisks are symbols of talent. In addition, the definition of "Kolyma" generally indicates the place of their creative birth. All of these names indicate the age of the participants.

The names of the vocal ensembles "Magadan" and "Uptar" fix the place of their birth.

Thus, as a result of the study, the following criteria for choosing ergonyms were determined: reflection of target settings, indication of age, identification of areas of work for teams, geo-referencing. In general, when naming, the authors tend to use words with a positive connotation.

The analyzed names of creative teams as a category of proper names in their structure do not have significant differences from proper names of other categories. Ergonyms, as established, are formed in traditional ways for onomastics. Although the choice of names is due to various motives, when creating names, the authors strive not to violate the aesthetic norms of their audience.
