Garik Sukachev is young. Garik Sukachev - biography, information, personal life

29.06.2020

The story of how the spouses met is very romantic. They met as teenagers. Olga was then 14 years old, and Garik was barely 16. In the Soviet Union, they were wary of novels at such a young age, so the couple had to catch sidelong glances. However, rebellious natures did not care about condemnation and gossip. The lovers dated for eight years before getting legally married.

Later, when giving interviews, the rock musician noted more than once that he and Olga always had something to talk about. Garik Sukachev has a rather brutal image, but he does not hesitate to talk about his reverent feelings for his wife. And after many years, there is a place for romance in their couple. At his 50th anniversary concert, the rocker confessed his love to his wife from the stage. The audience greeted this explanation with enthusiastic shouts.

Rock musician's muse

The creative career of Garik Sukachev is very diverse. At different periods of time, he was the frontman of the groups “Sunset by Hand”, “Postcryptum”, “Brigade S” and “The Untouchables”. At all stages of his work, Olga was a muse - the musician says about this in his interviews: “Almost all my songs, one way or another, are dedicated to Olga.” One of the most beautiful lyrical compositions performed by him is called “Olga”. It's not hard to guess who it's dedicated to. The story behind the creation of this song is interesting: the couple went to visit their friends near Kaliningrad. The plan was to swim and sunbathe, but it started to rain and the electricity went out due to the bad weather. It would seem that the vacation was hopelessly ruined, but the musician consoled his beloved by writing songs for her. In 1994, the musician released the album “Walking, Wandering, Wandering,” and the song “Olga” became his hit. But, unfortunately for fans, the video for this song has not yet been filmed. Garik says that every time he performs this song, tears well up in his eyes.

In this harmonious couple, not only the musician pleases his chosen one with his creativity, she also does a lot for him. So, for example, so that Garik could make the film “Holiday,” she sold her restaurant “Woodstock” (by the way, the name is symbolic, in honor of the iconic festival). The rock star also revealed the secret of his long and happy relationship: his wife never stopped him from being creative, so most of the songs he wrote at home at night.

Garik received the support of his wife at all stages of his journey: when he decided to change his profession as an engineer to a musical path, when he created new rock bands and tried himself as an actor, director and TV presenter. Olga has always been (and is) his reliable support. At the same time, the woman never sought to shine in public and give interviews to journalists.

The rocker lifestyle consists of long tours, wild parties with alcohol and enthusiastic fans. And one can only guess how much effort it takes for the wives of rock musicians to keep their families together. But this story, it seems, is not about Garik and Olga. They have many common hobbies: they go diving together, they have experience diving to a depth of fifty meters.

The couple have a cozy home where guests are always welcome. And in the house of Igor Ivanovich (that’s what he asks to call himself lately, hinting at his age) and his family there are animals. On Instagram, Sukachev talks not only about his work, but also about his family: a charming chinchilla named Pusik lives in their house. And if you scroll through the photos, among the many concert photos of the artist you can find rare photos of his family. The musician signed a photo of his wife romantically: “The one about whom the song “Olga” is about.”

Strong Sukachev family

Olga and Garik have two children: son Alexander (born in 1985) and daughter Nastya (born in 2004). The children bear their mother's maiden name, the Queen. The decision to give the children Olga's surname was justified by the fact that Garik did not want his offspring to bear the burden of his famous surname.

The successes and achievements of children are largely the merit of their parents. And if Garik himself says that he often disappears on tours and rehearsals, then it is clear that Olga is mainly involved in raising the children.

Alexander chose a creative profession - he is a director, studied in England and has a bachelor's degree in film studies. Daughter Nastya is still in school. Since Olga almost never gives interviews, we have to rely on Garik’s opinion: he told reporters that the birth of their daughter was a surprise for them, and a very pleasant one at that. The age difference between the children is 19 years. This serves as further proof of the harmonious relationship of this couple.

Igor Sukachev, later simply Garik Sukachev, was born in the village of Myakinino (now Tushino) in the Moscow region on December 1, 1959 into an ordinary Soviet family. His father fought, his mother was in a concentration camp, in a partisan detachment, but he is from the generation of post-war boys. The family was not connected with art “from any side.”

A simple Soviet boy went to school, studied no worse, but no better than others, and after school he strummed a six-string guitar at home, learning chords from a self-instruction manual. After receiving secondary education, Garik Sukachev decided to enter the railway technical school. Having completed it brilliantly, the young and energetic guy was even going to devote himself to engineering and construction, making a significant contribution to the design of the Tushino railway station, but at one moment, for some reason, Sukachev felt that “Soviet construction” was not his element and Having successfully passed all the entrance exams, he entered the Lipetsk Regional Cultural and Educational School, upon completion of which he received a diploma as a theater director.

"Brigade C"

It was within the walls of this eminent establishment that I met Sergei Galanin. By that time, they both had already worked in various amateur groups. Thus began joint rehearsals, and by the beginning of 1986 the group “Brigade S” was born. The program “Tangerine Paradise” became the group’s first big program, and the second, “Welcome to the Forbidden Zone,” was already done at a good professional level, and the songs “Plumber on the Roof” and “My Little Baby” immediately became hits.

After the “underground” rock festival “Rock Trees,” fame came to Garik Sukachev’s group, and when “Brigada S” came under the auspices of the Stas Namin Center, they started talking about it and, of course, about the soloist himself “at the top of their voices.” "! The group performed at various festivals, recorded a lot and quickly found themselves among the leaders of the Moscow rock scene. And here, on top of everything, a tempting offer was received - to star as a whole group in Savva Kulish’s film “Tragedy in Rock Style,” the music for which was written by Sergei Kuryokhin.

Movie

Garik Sukachev immediately liked the movie, or maybe the music just didn’t seem enough for him, so he decided to “put on the mask of an actor.” Alexander Naumovich Mitta invited Garik Sukachev to star in his film “Step”. There he played with the incomparable Leonid Filatov in a tiny episode of one of the microbiology students...

It was a chance to experience the magic of cinema. He had never had to deal with this before and Garik Sukachev realized that he simply adored cinema. On the set, the aspiring actor was stunned and intoxicated by everything. It was a completely different, delightfully strange and attractive world, which he simply did not know before, and he was allowed to enter it, to see it from the inside. And having entered, Sukachev decided to stay there.

By and large, Garik Sukachev did not do anything special in his acting work. Of course, there were many roles in which he starred, but Garik Sukachev himself did not like them. These were tiny roles, although the “tasks” that the actor was given were sometimes difficult, and to his credit, he was always able to “hear” the director’s demands, but he was not always seriously satisfied with himself.

Best of the day

But Garik Sukachev liked being a film actor. And it’s not surprising, because very talented film directors always invited him to film: Alexander Mitta, Sergey Rusakov, Evgeny Tsymbal.

His work in the film “The Road” by Vladimir Khotinenko became one of his favorites. The actor liked the story of the film itself, in Shukshin’s ordinary way, and sincerity, and clarity, and simplicity, behind which there is no primitiveness, and what is most valuable, the director allowed Sukachev to invent a hero, this little man “from the street.”

Sukachev’s work with Vasily Pichula in the film “The Sky in Diamonds”, in fact the role is “food is served”. The actor was happy to film because he clearly understood that these tiny things in the hands of a professional director began to glow and shimmer on their own. With people like this you want to do “food is served.”

Garik Sukachev had several reasons for filming in the youth series “Beauty Queen, or a Very Difficult Childhood”: firstly, his son played one of the main roles in this series, and secondly, the artist simply adores the age of sixteen, young cool , cheerful guys and girls, and thirdly, I just wanted to “try the actor’s serial bread.” And with all this, after filming ended, Sukachev decided for himself that the series were definitely not his and he would no longer participate in them. With one exception - if he invites one of those directors whom the actor deeply respects. There's no escape!

Director

And then, at some point, Garik Sukachev began to understand that he wanted to be not inside the frame, but behind it. That it is much more interesting for him to build the mise-en-scène himself. Before the “arrival” of this global thought, Sukachev, of course, had already acted a lot as an actor. He hosted the author's program "Gazebo" on television, and with Mikhail Efremov he made two performances at the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, wrote a lot of music for films.

And the many videos that Sukachev successfully filmed! This is also a kind of great filming experience! “This is the real school of the profession: editing, tempo, light, sound, and screenwriting. No matter how much directors of the older generation castigate videos, or insist that advertising is a “craft” and supposedly has nothing to do with cinema, but we have to really face the truth - modern cinema is mainly built on the best technologies that came from advertising and music videos." So, having built such a “solid foundation” for himself, Garik Sukachev became a director.

Garik Sukachev’s debut in the field of directing was the sensational film “Midlife Crisis”. Everything was invented by screenwriter Ivan Okhlobystin and Sukachev himself to some extent as a provocation.

Of course, the crisis actually has no age. This, most likely, is an invisible internal barrier erected in order to reach a conditionally different level of self-awareness, or maybe just a period of testing and self-understanding. Actress Zhenya Dobrovolskaya, who played the main character, admitted that during filming, all the performers jokingly and seriously tormented each other with a simple banal question: “What is this “midlife crisis”? But before the filming ended, he gave up, this very crisis...

"Holiday"

Garik Sukachev's film "Holiday" attracted the attention of both viewers and critics. Igor Ivanovich showed an unusual “Holiday” on June 22, 1941, the birthday of a village girl, and not at all the treacherous attack of the German invaders on the USSR. It just happened that way. The sweet faces of dad and mom, wonderful artists Alexander Baluev and Ksenia Kachalina, who gave their glorious daughter, performed by young Masha Oamer, the star of a commercial for German yoghurts "Ehrmann", a rag hare in a sailor suit.

With his “Holiday,” the director wanted to show the younger generation how the tragedy of that terrible war came into the lives of ordinary village workers who peacefully indulged in their little joys.

The real war came to the border village the very next day and at the end of the film the whole family died at the hands of a traitor, but the audience was not destined to see how lead pierced the child’s flesh, how bullets destroyed the beautiful body of a young mother, how the mighty figure of the father fell heavily into the still waters . In the last frame, the director showed that even the hour of death was met by ordinary and unknown Soviet people like real heroes.

"House of Sun"

The future heroes of the next directorial idea of Garik Sukachev in the touching story of the relationship between the girl Sasha from a decent family of diplomats and the hippie leader named the Sun in the film “House of the Sun” begged, in the literal sense of the word, and not just anywhere, but right on the Arbat. And this despite the film’s quite decent budget!

At the director's request, young but already fairly well-known film actors took on the roles using an unusual method. They wandered down the street with their hats outstretched and begged for alms. Daria Moroz, who had not yet had time to really grow her hair after her role in the film “The Point,” covered herself with dark glasses that covered half her face.

Ivan Stebunov, painfully similar to Konstantin Khabensky, talked about the difficulties of acting. But Stanislav Ryadinsky simply played the harmonica lyrically. For some reason, Svetlana Ivanova asked for money for new batteries for her neighbor’s “unique singing dog.” They donated money, but not too actively. It’s not that passers-by simply didn’t recognize any of the begging actors. No, they just couldn’t believe their eyes.

Personal life

Garik Sukachev can quite consciously help other people - perform at a charity concert, transfer a fee to someone else's needs... But he is still not able to come to the rescue of someone every day. Sukachev’s first priority is still the well-being of his family.

Garik Sukachev is monogamous. He's a good father. He is completely unpretentious in food and clothing. His favorite number is 13. The owner of the most iconic cat in Moscow named Blues. The adult half of the Sukachev family is fond of diving. Igor Ivanovich and his wife dive to a depth of 50 meters.

And Garik Sukachev dreams of a noble old age - “to live long and die as a very old man, surrounded by his beloved children, a huge family. And to live at the end of his life by the lake. And so that he would definitely have a boat. And grow old with friends, ride a boat on the lake and fish fish. What could be better?...

In the summer of 2002, work began at the studio on new material under the working title “Man of Habit.” During the work, the album was renamed “Poetics”; it included ten works, three of which were covers. Garik Sukachev - photo

We talked with a famous rock musician (“My grandmother smokes a pipe”), an actor (“The Frenchman”) and a director (“House of the Sun”) in Jurmala, where Igor Ivanovich came to participate in the rock day of the “New Wave” festival (broadcast channel "Ukraine").

- Igor Ivanovich, admit it, how long did it take you to decide whether to participate in a non-fatal festival?

Honestly, I agreed almost immediately when I found out what other groups would take part in it (together with Garik’s group “The Untouchables”, “Time Machine”, “Aquarium”, “Chaif” performed. - Author). We have been friends with them for one hundred and fifty million years. The only obvious stupidity of what is happening is that in rock music it is not customary to play two songs. But this is not because we want to play more, we just play live, and as soon as we get into a frenzy, that’s it - we need to leave the stage.

- You came to Jurmala with your wife and daughter, do you often take your family with you to events?

Not often, because there are no such events in our world anymore (laughs). But I always take them with me to rock festivals. This year, for example, I also brought Olga and Nastya to the “Invasion”, they really liked it there. There are generally a lot of children musicians there, both adults and very young children. This is our world, and it’s very cool there.

- Your friend Ivan Ivanovich Okhlobystin told me that during your stormy youth with him, you reveled to the fullest, many parties ended in noisy orgies. Tell us about at least one of them?

I don’t know what Vanya specifically meant, so I don’t see the point in remembering them now (laughs). Now we are all family people, our children grew up together. Some of them are already quite adults (Garik’s son, Alexander, is 26 years old. - Author). By the way, a couple of days ago Vanya celebrated his birthday, which I, naturally, was at. On this day in Moscow there was also a performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gogol Bordello. So, we first stopped by Vanya’s to celebrate, and then everyone rushed off to the concert.

- There is a very big age difference between your daughter and son. Is it a different feeling to become a father at a young age and at a more mature age?

Best of the day

Of course, you always treat late children differently. I find myself treating my Nastya more like a grandfather than like a dad.

-Have you ever attended parent-teacher meetings at school?

I often visited Nastya at school, but never at parent-teacher meetings. This year she graduated from first grade, and I was at their first graduation - an absolutely touching event, I tell you.

- Is it true that your children do not have your last name?

Yes, they both have their mother’s surname - Koroleva, because I think that star surnames bother children, and it’s easier to hide behind strangers. Although now I already think that at school they still know whose Nastya’s daughter is.

- What is your son doing now?

Sanya has already graduated from the London University of Cinematography and is now filming a lot in Russia. Unfortunately, we see him very rarely.

- Doesn’t he plan to make you a grandfather in the near future?

In my opinion, for now he is married to work, so I don’t think so in the near future (laughs). Although, like all mothers, ours also really wants him to find a wife and start a family.

- Do you often spoil your wife with gifts?

Well, I think so. Although I rarely give flowers to Olga, I often give gifts that are given to me at concerts (laughs).

- What are your immediate plans as a director?

Nothing yet. I just recently finished working on the play “Anarchy” at the Sovremennik Theater, where Mikhail Olegovich Efremov plays the main role... (at this moment, next to the cafe where we are sitting, a motorcycle stops, from the speakers of which a song performed by Garik is playing “ And I recognize my dear one by his gait"). Oh my god, what a nightmare. Old man (Garik addresses the motorcyclist. - Author), be a friend, knock him out, I beg you!

- What, you don’t like to listen to yourself?

I hate it! And I don’t like watching myself on screen. You know, I'm not obsessed with myself. So here it is. Now all my time belongs to music. The band and I are finishing recording a record that we haven’t released for over 7 years, so there are no plans to make a new film yet.

- It’s no secret that many aspiring artists are starting to go crazy with their own popularity. Have you yourself suffered from star fever?

It was so long ago that I forgot what it was. Although, I’m probably no exception. Well, imagine, you are now sitting in a cafe, no one recognizes you, one cute girl out of a thousand others. And tomorrow suddenly everyone starts recognizing you. And believe me, something inside you will certainly begin to change. Some people experience more changes, others less. This transformation just needs to be experienced, that’s all!

- By the way, one of your last works in cinema as a soundtrack performer was the film “Match”. How do you like the picture itself?

I view any cinematic, theatrical or musical event as a person from this profession. If we talk about the film “Match” from my professional point of view, I didn’t like it at all, didn’t touch me, didn’t grab me. But I’m not an average viewer, I’m engaged by my profession.

- And the sensational “Vysotsky. Thank you for being alive"?

The same can be said about this film. Although I think this is a very strong picture. It's beautifully shot and keeps you in suspense until the last minute. “Vysotsky” is not a failure; it did not disappoint the expectations of a wide range of viewers. By the way, my son had just arrived from America when this film was shown on the satellite channel for the first time. And I tell him: “Sanya, let’s watch it together. I want to discuss it with you!” And you know, he really liked it.

- And when you make films yourself, do you take advice from your friends and colleagues?

Of course, I always invite home to screenings those people for whom I have the deepest respect, and those who are capable of scolding me. First of all, this is my teacher Alexander Mitta (“Border. Taiga Novel”), film critic David Shneiderov, Nikita Vysotsky, Ivan Okhlobystin, Mikhail Efremov, Pyotr Todorovsky (“Intergirl”).

- Returning to your music, it is true that the group “Untouchables” is one of the most expensive rock groups at private events (according to our information, event agencies demand 50 thousand euros for an hour and a half concert with Garik’s participation. - Author. )?

Yes, it’s true, inviting us is not a cheap pleasure, and we often accept such invitations.

- Is there a difference – playing music for a chewing public or for devoted fans?

I’ll tell you this, especially since I think you yourself often go to these kinds of parties. Indeed, some people eat and some don’t. But I won’t come up to you and ask: “You know, why are you eating here?” You can say: “I’m very hungry, because the concert has already lasted 5 hours!” (laughs). Secondly, it's a party, and I've always loved them. As well as people who are having fun, who are drunk. These people just give me awesome pleasure! But there are things where we never play - these are saunas and private mansions.
