Education in the RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia

At the academy, students can receive secondary vocational education and a lawyer's qualification in the direction of Law and social security organization. Education is possible only on a full-time basis and its duration is 2 years 10 months. Training is possible both on a paid and on a free basis.

Students receive higher education in the following areas:

  • jurisprudence, with the qualification of an academic bachelor in state law, criminal law and civil law profile or specialization in enforcement proceedings. The training lasts 4 years on a full-time, part-time or part-time basis;
  • jurisprudence, with a master's degree. Training lasts 2 years full-time and 2 years 3 months part-time;

The State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education The Russian Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation is the assignee of the All-Union Institute for the Improvement of Justice Workers (VIURYU), formed by the Decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR of July 30, 1970, by the Decree of the Government of the RSFSR of December 2, 1991 No. 28 VIURYU was transformed into the Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of the USSR, and by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 08.05.1992 No. 295 - into the Russian Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of Russia.

List of documents submitted by the applicant:

9. Documents by mail

An application for admission to the 1st course, as well as the necessary documents, can be sent by applicants through public postal operators (by mail).

Documents sent by the applicant by mail are accepted by the Academy upon their receipt no later than the deadlines established for completing the acceptance of documents.

When sending documents by mail, the applicant shall attach photocopies of documents proving his identity and citizenship, photocopies of state documents on education, as well as other necessary documents to the Application for Admission.

Terms and forms of training
Education in doctoral studies is carried out on a full-time basis (3 years) of education at the expense of the federal budget or on a contractual (paid) basis.
Postgraduate education is carried out in full-time (3 years) and part-time (4 years) forms of education at the expense of the federal budget or on a contractual (paid) basis.
Attachment of applicants for passing candidate examinations is carried out for a period of no more than 2 years, preparation of dissertation research for the degree of candidate of legal sciences - for a period of no more than 3 years, preparation of a doctoral dissertation - for a period of no more than 4 years.
Conditions for admission to doctoral and postgraduate studies
In doctoral studies, as well as attachments by applicants, to complete scientific research and prepare doctoral dissertations, persons with a PhD degree and the necessary scientific publications on the research topic are accepted.
Persons with a completed higher legal education are admitted to the Academy's graduate school on a competitive basis, based on the results of entrance examinations.
Applicants are attached taking into account the results of the interview and the conclusion of the specialized department.
Deadlines for receiving documents
Acceptance of documents for admission to doctoral and postgraduate studies is carried out by the faculty staff annually from August 1 to 31. Reception of documents for attaching applicants is carried out throughout the academic year.
List of submitted documents
Applicants for doctoral studies submit the following documents:

- a personal personnel record sheet, certified by the signature of the head of the personnel service with the obligatory indication of the post office index, home address and contact numbers (office and home), as well as the address at which correspondence is received;
- a photocopy of a state-recognised diploma on awarding the degree of candidate of sciences;

- a detailed plan (concept) of a doctoral dissertation;
- 2 photographs 3x4 cm in size, black and white on matte paper without a corner.
Persons entering graduate school and attached as applicants for the preparation of a PhD dissertation submit the following documents:
- an application addressed to the rector of the Academy (standard form);
- a personal sheet (questionnaire) for personnel records, certified by the signature of the head of the personnel service and a seal, with the obligatory indication of the postal code, home address and contact phones / faxes (office and home) of the applicant, as well as the address at which he receives correspondence;
- an abstract of 25-30 pages, computerized (A-4 format, Times New Roman font, size - 14, spacing - 1.5) on the subject of the chosen specialty or a list of scientific papers and inventions. Persons with scientific publications submit their copies. Applicants submit a detailed plan of dissertation research (volume 3-5 pages);
- a photocopy of a state-recognised diploma of higher professional education at various levels and an appendix to it;
- a photocopy of the passport (in the absence of another identity document);
- two photographs 3x4 cm in size, black and white, on matte paper, without a corner
The original state-recognised diploma of higher professional education with an attachment, a PhD diploma and an identity document (passport) must be presented in person when submitting documents. Other documents (certificates, certificates, diplomas, diplomas, petitions, etc.) are not required.
The listed documents sent by mail will not be considered.
Interviews and entrance exams
Interviews with persons entering graduate school to decide on their admission to entrance examinations are held annually from September 1 to September 10.
Entrance examinations for postgraduate studies are held from September 11 in the following disciplines:
- special discipline (specified in the application);
- foreign language (specified in the application);
- philosophy;
Retaking the entrance exams is not allowed. Passed entrance exams for postgraduate studies are valid for a calendar year.
Based on the results of the entrance examinations, the Admissions Committee makes a decision on each applicant, ensuring admission to postgraduate studies on a competitive basis of persons who are best prepared for scientific and pedagogical activities.
Enrollment of graduate students entering studies on a contractual (paid) basis is carried out on a competitive basis based on the results of entrance examinations, subject to the conclusion of agreements defining the obligations of the academy and the graduate student, or the sending party and the payment made.
Attachment of applicants is carried out (on a contractual (paid) basis) based on the results of the interview and the presence of a positive conclusion of the department, subject to the conclusion of contracts defining the obligations of the academy and the applicant, or the sending party and the payment made.
The Academy has dissertation councils for defending dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of legal sciences (D 229.001.01, D 229.001.02) in the following specialties:
