After graduating from the Moscow State Institute of Cinematography, having passed a tough selection, Ilshat worked for a year in the legendary ensemble of Igor Moiseev, studied at the modern dance school of Alexander Shishkin.
Ilshat is an artist of musicals, where he manifests himself in three roles at once: as an actor, dancer and singer. The first musical in which he took part was the famous Notre Dame de Paris. To do this, he had to go through three stages of casting, which lasted a whole year.
In 2003, the dancer worked as a choreographer with the singer, a member of the "Star Factory-2" Irakli, touring with him around the country. Also as a choreographer, he worked with such performers as Alsou, Vlad Topalov, Sergey Lazarev and others.
In 2006, he worked under a contract in Israel - he danced in the grandiose show "One" by the famous Israeli singer Rita. He also worked under contract in China.
After that, Shabaev again actively works in musicals. In 2010-2012, he played in two productions directed by Yegor Druzhinin. We are talking about the musicals "Love and Espionage" (based on the play by E. Gremina "Eyes of the Day") with Larisa Dolina and Dmitry Kharatyan in the lead roles and "I am Edmond Dantes" (based on the novel by A. Dumas "The Count of Monte Cristo") , in which the main roles were played by Dmitry Pevtsov and Natalia Vlasova.
The next in 2013 was the famous musical "Chicago", staged more than once on Broadway. According to the choreographer, it was in this musical that he gained the most experience. There he mastered such a genre as Fossey.
In the summer of 2014, Ilshat played the role of Gopchik in the musical Once Upon a Time in Odessa, based on the popular series of the same name.
Ilshat also took part in such musicals as "Bombay Dreams", "Cats".

In 2005, Ilshat won the first season of the Dance Floor Star dance project on MTV. It was the first large-scale dance show in Russia, similar to The Wade Robson Show. More than 3.5 thousand dancers from all over the country came to the castings, only 80 were selected! The victory was promised a car and a trip to Los Angeles to the famous choreographer Wade Robson. According to Ilshat himself, the project "Star of the Dance Floor" became a great experience for him, an internal struggle with himself, he learned to concentrate and did not imagine that he could win. After the end of the project, Ilshat wrote and sang together with Teona Dolnikova the hymn for "Stars of the Dance Floor-2". After that, Shabaev began teaching at the Mainstream dance school in Moscow.
"Dancing" on TNT
In the fall of 2014, a new dance show was launched on the TNT channel - the Dancing project, which "gave a chance to everyone who loves to move and dance, try their hand and demonstrate their feelings."
More than 280 dancers from 77 cities of Russia participated in this television project. Casting began in April 2014. The main prizes of the TV show are the title of the best dancer in the country and 3 million rubles.
At a television casting in Moscow, Ilshat presented to the jury a dance in the style of modern choreography to the Lana Del Rey track "Young & Beautiful", which amazed the judges. Ilshat's mentor was the choreographer, director and actor Yegor Druzhinin.
For 10 competitive releases, Ilshat danced 10 dances in a duet and one solo.
On December 31, 2014, the final of the show "Dancing" on the TNT channel took place. The winner was determined by the audience by their vote. Ilshat became the best dancer of the country, Vitaliy Savchenko took the second place, Adam - the third, Alisa Dotsenko - the fourth.
Tour
After the completion of the project, Ilshat, along with other main participants in the first season of Dances, took part in a spring-summer tour called the First Club Concert. As part of the tour, the dancers gave concerts in 15 cities of Russia, giving concerts almost every day.

- Very interesting: seething and almost no time to rest. This whole year was at work and on the road: planes, trains, buses, cities, master classes, concerts, sleepless nights, and, most importantly, emotions. The emotions that the audience gives us when they come to our concerts. Endless energy that inspires us, and it's insanely nice. Thanks to everyone who comes to our concerts and master classes, to everyone who is inspired by us and starts dancing.
- Did you expect your life to change so much after the project?
- No! I certainly did not expect this when I went to the casting. I didn't think the project would become so popular. None of us expected this.
- Do you follow the second season of the show "DANCING" and do you have any favorites?
- I follow, but so far I have not singled out a clear favorite for myself. I carefully observe all the participants, everything that happens. The "DANCES" project is a competition where participants are given choreography of various dance styles, which they have not encountered before. And when you see that a professional dancer of one direction is faced with a choreography that is not close to him, it is clear, but someone copes to a greater extent, someone to a lesser extent. Therefore, there are no clear favorites.
- Is it your old dream to open your own dance school?
- Everything happened spontaneously. This idea came up immediately after the project.
- Many people wonder why the dance studio is called 7U8?
- A lot of things in my life are connected with these figures. I represented the city of Orenburg on the project "DANCES", and the region of the city "56". It sounds like multiplication 7U8= 56. Also 7 and 8 is a dance count, before starting any choreography they say: "7-8". The third reason, 78 is the year of my birth. The 7th is my favorite number, and I was born on the 8th. Well, I liked the turnover itself "7U8".
- What are your plans for the future regarding the development of the dance studio?
- There are many plans. We want to cooperate with well-known Russian choreographers with Vova Gudym, Katya Serzhenko, Dasha Saleya, Alexey Shalburov, Alexander Mogilev, also invite foreign choreographers such as Chaz Buzan - I really like his choreography. We will conduct a casting for teachers. We plan to open groups in new popular dance styles, as well as develop those areas that are already represented in our studio. We will also organize dance camps. We plan to open children's groups. Of course, I would like to focus on "contempo" and develop it to the European level. I would like to create their own atmosphere in the studio, so that the guys like to spend time here, so that everyone discovers something new for themselves here. I am ready to share my experience, my creativity, and I myself would be happy to learn from many.
- You have a very busy schedule, but what about your personal life?
- The girl is patient and understanding. Distances, partings, we don't see each other. It's very hard ... you just have to endure this busy schedule. I think by spring it will become easier, there will be more free time for myself, for creative development and for personal life. In March, a new project "DANCES 2" starts, we will tour the cities. I hope with personal life everything will be much more harmonious. I already want to stop, continue my vocal lessons, record new tracks, shoot new dance videos. I want to get more involved in hip-hop, popping, dancehall.
