Itin Yuri Konstantinovich biography. Yuri Itin: “Honored, popular - what's the difference, they go to a good artist

The Russian State Academic Drama Theater named after Fyodor Volkov (Volkovskiy Theatre) in Yaroslavl is the first theater in Russia, which celebrated its 260th anniversary in 2010.

The history of the Volkovsky Theater goes back to the leather barn, in which, according to legend, two and a half centuries ago, the young merchant's son Fyodor Grigoryevich Volkov, with his brothers and friends, began to arrange theater performances in Yaroslavl. The first of them took place on July 10, 1750 in the leather barn of Fyodor's stepfather, the merchant Polushkin - it was Jean Racine's Esther translated by Fyodor Volkov. A special theater building (“theatrical mansion”) was opened on the banks of the Volga on January 7, 1751 with the tragedy of A.P. Sumarokov “Khorev”, costumes and scenery were made; developed a permanent repertoire. The rumor about the young Yaroslavl residents reached the Empress Elizaveta Petrovna, who in January 1752 summoned them to St. Petersburg by special decree. Since then, the founder of the theater has never returned to Yaroslavl. The Fyodor Volkov Theater in Yaroslavl is considered to be the first Russian public public professional theater. Of course, in those days in Russia there were quite a few theatrical troupes, primarily foreign ones, schoolchildren “dabbled in the theater”, there were often one-time performances of theatrical performances “on the occasion”. However, the Yaroslavl theater of Fyodor Volkov is considered the first. It was he who for the first time met all the characteristics laid down in the definition - Russian Public Professional Theatre. Russian - because here Russian actors played plays in Russian. Public - because it was public, in contrast to the theaters of the palace, home or school; the ranking of the audience in the hall depended on the ticket price, and not on social status. Professional - because the actors received a salary for their work, acting became their profession. Finally, the Theater - because it was not a troupe, not a separate production, but precisely a theater from an organizational point of view - with a constant repertoire, with a ticket economy, with all the “materiel” - a building, scenery, costumes (when the “Volkovites” left on a call Elizaveta Petrovna to Petersburg, there were only 19 carts in costumes).

Theater in the XVIII-XIX centuries

Some time after Volkov's departure to the capital, the theater in Yaroslavl ceased to exist - apparently for financial reasons. Then theaters in Yaroslavl arose on a private initiative: the theater was kept in their house by the governors - Alexei Petrovich Melgunov, Golitsyn; The theaters were kept in specially constructed buildings by Prince Urusov and the provincial architect Pyotr Yakovlevich Pankov. Owners, directors and entrepreneurs changed, and only in 1882 the theater became a city theater.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the buildings of the Yaroslavl theater. The building of the Urus Theater was located in the area of Ilyinskaya Square; what it looked like is unknown - by the end of the 1810s, the building fell into disrepair and there are no photographs of it. The building, built for his own theater by the architect Pankov, dates from 1819; its appearance is also unknown (his design sketches in the spirit of classicism have been preserved, but to what extent they were brought to life is unknown). It was Pankov who first placed the theater on Vlasievskaya Square, which later turned into a theater square and was named after Fyodor Volkov. This building was rebuilt in the 1840s (there is a photograph supposedly depicting this stage). In the 1880s (when the theater passed into the possession of the city) another reconstruction was made, and only this last building was reliably captured in photographs as the Yaroslavl City Theater

By the end of the 19th century, the Yaroslavl theater was famous throughout Russia as one of the best. Lyubov Nikulina-Kositskaya, Pelageya Strepetova, Ivan Moskvin, Leonid Sobinov began their journey on this stage. By this time, the Yaroslavl theater was recognized as the successor to the theater of Fyodor Volkov, so the celebrations on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Russian theater in 1900 took place here (whereas the 100th anniversary was celebrated in 1856 in St. , Volkov, Volkov, we owe everything! ”, Paying attention to the “primogeniture” of Yaroslavl).

Theater in the 20th century

In 1909, a competition was announced for the best project for a new theater building; the competition was won by the architect Nikolai Spirin (project under the motto "Dancing in a circle" in imitation of the Gilardi pavilion in Kuzminki). The building was built in 1911 - the Volkov Theater is located in it to this day. In the same year, the theater was named after F. G. Volkov. In October 1918 the theater was municipalized

In Soviet times The Volkovsky Theater has also gained fame as one of the best in the province. It can be considered the heyday of the 1960s-1970s, when the artistic director of the theater was an outstanding director, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of State Prizes Firs Efimovich Shishigin. By this time, the strongest troupe had formed in the theater: People's Artists of the USSR and the RSFSR Alexandra Chudinova, Clara Nezvanova, Lidia Makarova, Sergei Romodanov, Grigory Belov, Valery Nelsky - the legendary names of the theater stage.

In 2000, the theater hosted celebrations on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the Russian theater. The Volkovsky Theater, the only one of the drama theaters, received the status of a federal one.

The theater has had different names at different times. Even encyclopedic sources do not give an unambiguous picture. Volume 49 of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia of the second edition gives the title of the article Yaroslavl Drama Theater named after F. G. Volkov, but in parentheses the clarification is given Yaroslavl Order of the Red Banner of Labor Drama Theater named after F. G. Volkov. The theatrical encyclopedia gives the title of the article Yaroslavl Theater named after F. G. Volkov and then a clarification (Yaroslavl Academic Order of the Red Banner of Labor Drama Theater named after F. G. Volkov) The 30th volume of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia of the third edition gives the title of the article Yaroslavl Theater and further highlighting petite named after F. G. Volkov, dramatic. In the encyclopedia "Russian Drama Theater" the title of the article is the Russian Drama Theater. F. G. Volkova.

The current state of the theater

Now Volkovsky is one of the most famous and largest theaters in the Russian provinces: more than 200 employees (including 55 people - the troupe), two stages - Main (auditor hall for 931 seats) and Chamber (auditorium for 120 seats); there are 29 titles in the current repertoire. Recently, due to a change in leadership (since September 2008, Boris Mezdrich became the director of the theater, since June 2009, the chief director was Sergey Puskepalis, both resigned of their own free will on February 14, 2011), the theater headed for a change of image: on the oldest stage in Russia now modern dramaturgy and young directing will dominate. In addition to the Volkovsky Theater Festival, which has become familiar (annually in October-November; since 2009, the festival’s motto is “Russian dramaturgy in the languages of the world”), since 2009, the youth theater festival “The Future of Theater Russia” has been held here (April), where young people present their works actors and directors, just from the student bench.

The theater continues to be located in the building built for it in 1911 - on the square named after Fyodor Volkov and next to the monument to the founder of the Russian theater (installed in 1973). The building is currently in the process of renovation. Once on the site of the building there was a bed of the buried Netecha river, which negatively affects its condition.

Fedor Grigorievich Volkov

Fedor Grigorievich Volkov(1729-1763) - Russian actor and theatrical figure who created the first permanent Russian theater. Considered the founder of the Russian theater. Fedor was born on February 9 (February 20, according to a new style), 1729 in Kostroma. His father, a Kostroma merchant, died during his childhood. Mother in 1735 remarried the merchant Fyodor Polushkin and moved to Yaroslavl with his children. Volkov's stepfather was a wealthy and kind man. Yaroslavl residents were familiar with different types of theatrical performances. Since childhood, Volkov has seen folk games, amateur performances and performances of school dramas. He was distinguished by various talents. The boy received his first literacy lessons from a pastor who was under Duke E. I. Biron, who was exiled to Yaroslavl.

At the age of twelve, he was sent to Moscow to study business with German industrialists, from whom Volkov, among other things, perfectly learned the German language, which he spoke "like a natural German." In Moscow, he became interested in theatrical performances, which were played out by students of the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy. While studying in Moscow, Volkov, according to A. A. Shakhovsky, “excelled at Christmas time in presenting spiritual dramas and translated comedies, for which Zaikonospassky students have long been famous.” Volkov stood out from his peers with his mind, diligence and knowledge, "he was passionately attached," according to Novikov, "to the knowledge of sciences and arts." The time of study coincided with the ascension to the throne of Elizabeth Petrovna, who contributed a lot to the development of culture.

In 1746, a young merchant arrived in St. Petersburg on business, and here, according to legend, a visit to the court theater made a tremendous impression on him. He devoted himself entirely to a new passion, and during the two years of his stay in St. Petersburg he was engaged in the arts and the study of theatrical art. In 1748, after the death of his stepfather, Fyodor Volkov received the management of the factories, but soon retired, transferring control to his brother.

Having gained independence, he gathers around him lovers of theatrical performances from among the Yaroslavl youth. On June 29 (July 10), 1750, in a large stone barn where the merchant Polushkin used to store his goods, Volkov gave his first public performance, showing the drama Esther (translated by Volkov) and the pastoral Evmon and Berfa. Although not all Yaroslavl residents accepted the new fun, and there is even information about a robbery committed by several townspeople during one of the performances, the very next year in Yaroslavl a wooden theater was built on the banks of the Volga especially for Volkov’s performances, which opened on January 7, 1751 with the tragedy of A. P. Sumarokov "Khorev". In the Volkov Theater, besides himself, his brothers Grigory and Gavrila, the “clerks” Ivan Ikonnikov and Yakov Popov, the “churchman” Ivan Dmitrevsky, the “peepers” Semyon Kuklin and Alexei Popov, the barber Yakov Shumsky, the townspeople Semyon Skachkov and Demyan Galik played . It was the first public theater in Russia.

Soon about the "Yaroslavl comedies" became known at the court of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. By a special decree of 1752, she summoned Volkov to Petersburg: “ ... Empress Elisavet Petrovna, autocrat of the All-Russian this January, 3 days agreed to indicate: the Yaroslavl merchants Fyodor Grigoriev, the son of Volkov, with the brothers Gavrila and Grigory, who maintain a theater in Yaroslavl and play comedies, and who they still need for this will be brought to St. Petersburg<…>For the quickest of these people and their clothes, I bring them here, under it I give pit carts and run money from the treasury for them ... "

Since the end of January, Yaroslavl, led by Fyodor Volkov, has already played in front of the Empress and the court. The repertoire consisted of the tragedies of A. P. Sumarokov "Khorev", "Sinav and Truvor" and Shakespeare's "Hamlet". Performances were also staged at the land gentry corps.

On August 30, 1756, the “Russian Theater for the Presentation of Tragedies and Comedies” was officially established, which laid the foundation for the creation of the Imperial Theaters of Russia, and Fyodor Volkov was appointed “the first Russian actor”, and Alexander Sumarokov became the director of the theater, in 1761 this post was taken by Volkov. But for the sake of his beloved work, Fedor Grigoryevich refused the post of cabinet minister, the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called, estates and serfs.

Fyodor Volkov wrote about 15 plays (“The Court of Shemyakin”, “Every Yeremey Understand Yourself”, “Entertainment of Moscow Residents about Shrovetide”, etc.), which have not survived to our time, was also the author of solemn odes (it is known that he began to write an ode “Peter the Great”) and songs (there are “You are passing by the cell, dear” about a forcibly tonsured monk and “Let’s, brother, sing an old song, as people lived in the first century” about the past Golden Age). In addition, he was engaged in artistic design of performances; his picture is known, depicting him and the brothers during the performance, a bust of Peter I; according to legend, the carved iconostasis of the Nikolo-Nadeinskaya church in Yaroslavl is also his work. He played many instruments and created music for performances.

Until now, one of the most obscure moments in his life is his role during the coup and the accession of Catherine II to the throne. After the coup, he always had access to the empress's office without a report. On the oil week of 1763, in honor of the coronation of Empress Catherine II in Moscow, a multi-day “great masquerade, called the Triumphant Minerva, in which the Vileness of Vices and the Glory of Virtue will manifest itself,” which became the last creation of Volkov, was arranged.

During the masquerade, he caught a cold and on April 4 (April 15, according to the new style), 1763, he died. He played his last performance on January 29, performing in his best role as Oskold in Sumarokov's tragedy Semira.

Fedor Volkov was buried in Moscow, at the cemetery of the Andronikov Monastery. There are no traces left of his grave. In the mid-1990s, a memorial plaque was erected at the cemetery.

The Volkov Theater already has two Golden Masks. One, in the nomination "For Honor and Dignity", was received by the People's Artist of Russia Natalia Terentyeva. The second - actress Anastasia Svetlova for the role of Ekaterina Ivanovna in the performance of the same name, it was a Special Jury Prize with the wording "For the limit and completeness of stage existence."

Theater performances were shortlisted for the award three times. The first was the grandiose production of Igor Selin's "Woe from Wit", nominated in 2010 four times (the best dramatic performance of a large form, the best work of the director - Igor Selin, the best work of the artist - Alexander Orlov, the best male role - Alexei Kuzmin (Chatsky)). Then - "Ekaterina Ivanovna" by Evgenia Marchelli, also four nominations (the best dramatic performance of a large form, the best work of the director - Evgeny Marchelli, the best female role - Anastasia Svetlova (Ekaterina Ivanovna), the best male role - Vladimir Maizinger (Stibelev)).

The play "Untitled" was released in the 2011-2012 season, Vitaly Kishchenko, one of Evgeny Marchelli's favorite actors, with whom they worked in Sovetsk and Omsk, was invited to play the role of Mikhail Platonov. The performance received excellent reviews from critics and was shortlisted by the Golden Mask experts for the award, receiving three nominations: best dramatic performance of a large form, best director's work - Yevgeny Marchelli, best male role - Vitaly Kishchenko.

Evgeny Marchelli was repeatedly nominated for the "Golden Mask", in 2006 the Omsk Drama Theater headed by him then received a special "mask" with the wording "For the development of creative searches." For Vitaly Kishchenko, this is the third nomination for the award, but this is the first time he has become a laureate.

Performances

On the main stage:

· Anton Chekhov. UNTITLED. human scenes

The story, written by director Yevgeny Marchelli, vaguely resembles the plot of the well-known film by Nikita Mikhalkov "Unfinished Piece for Mechanical Piano". But if the film director used only individual plot motifs of the early play by A.P. Chekhov's "Fatherlessness", then Marchelli decided to stage the play in its entirety and unfolded before the audience a gallery of colorful characters, fathers and children, men and women.

· Elena Skorokhodova. Boulevard of Good Luck. Lyrical comedy in 2 acts.

History first. The charming Madeleine from Paris comes to the modest programmer Tolik Bashmachkin: she talks about the huge inheritance that suddenly fell on Tolik and about her intention to marry him.

How does a person who suddenly becomes a multimillionaire change? Is the inveterate thief ready to repent, having stolen a priceless necklace from the kindest and nicest people? In each story - the transformation of the soul of the characters, giving a fabulous tone to this good Christmas story.

· Federico Garcia Lorca. BERNARDA ALBA'S HOUSE

The relationship of the sexes is the road that Evgeni Marchelli has been walking for many years. In the "House of Bernard Alba" there is no man at all, but he is invisibly present in desires, fantasies, he is that invisible axis around which the planet of women revolves. "Bernard Alba", like many other performances by Marchelli, was invented on artistic contrasts.

Some scenes unfold in real time: just as long as it takes to tuck up skirts and splash water from aluminum buckets to scrub the floor. Other scenes, on the contrary, are devoid of realism - this is a world of fantasies, myths, unconscious desires

Alexander Volodin. DON'T SEPARATE WITH YOUR LOVED ONE. Family stories in 2 parts

Performance-participant of the V All-Russian Theater Festival "Five Evenings" named after A. Volodin (St. Petersburg) - Performance-participant of the X All-Russian Festival "Real Theater" (Yekaterinburg)

Why do we leave the people we love? Sometimes we don't even know ourselves... In this performance, the audience ceases to be contemplatives, becoming accomplices. Volodin's situations and dialogues are alive, recognizable, and therefore especially funny, and sad, and touching ... The auditorium, located on the stage, resembles either a circus or a Colosseum, where actors and spectators are extremely close. At arm's length - love, pain, hope, despair, separation, meeting ... Without falsehood and hypocrisy.

CHAMBER STAGE

· Katya Rubina BABANYA

· Natalia Vorozhbit. VIY

The original version of the well-known plot of the story by N.V. Gogol, which takes place today, partly in a Ukrainian village, partly on social networks. Lucas and Damian, philosophy students from France, come to the Little Russian wilderness at the invitation of Oksana, a Facebook friend. Accidentally getting off at the wrong stop, the guys fall into the Ukrainian night, which is far from being as quiet as it seems.

The importunate hospitality of the local villagers awaits them: moonshine, stories about ghouls and eaten children, sex in the cellar, flights in a dream and in reality, and a dead bride.

In the play by Ukrainian Natalia Vorozhbit, comedic horror and docudrama are mixed, and Gogol's fantasy is tested by modern realities, which turn out to be worse than grandmother's fairy tales

Reconstruction and repair

year 2013

The beginning of the 264th season Theatre. F.Volkov met updated after the next stage of overhaul with elements of reconstruction and restoration. Most importantly, the theater is going through such a difficult period, remaining in working condition, not leaving the building for years, as often happens during reconstruction.

Facade. The historical part of the facade has been completely restored. The plaster layer has been completely renewed. High reliefs and sculptures on the facade of the building, which previously looked darkened and dilapidated, acquired their original appearance. More than 160 lamps are installed on the historical and grate parts of the facade, which create illumination in the evening. This demonstrates the ceremonial appearance of the building, which occupies a central position in the urban landscape.

Roofing, waterproofing. The roof of the theater was completely replaced (the old roof was about five decades old). And to protect against the waters of the underground river on which the building stands, waterproofing of the foundation was made. This will prevent the rapid destruction of the facade, which was observed after previous repairs.

Interiors. Cardinal changes have taken place in the audience lobby on the first floor. Stucco molding, new lamps, decorative doors to the cash hall appeared here. The ceiling painting was made in the foyer of the second floor. It was conceived as such by the architect Spirin during the construction of the building, but then, due to the outbreak of the First World War, his plans could not be realized. Also on the second floor, parquet and chandeliers have been updated.

The stairs, wardrobes, toilet have been transformed. The spectator buffet has also changed: after repair and installation of new sound equipment, it will become another art platform where various projects can be implemented.

About 90 old windows and doorways have been replaced in the theatre, and a number of working rooms have been repaired. Major cleaning was carried out in the hall, including dry-cleaning of the stage clothes and cleaning of the huge FV monogram over the stage portal.

History of building reconstruction

In the twentieth century, the theater, built according to the project of N.A. Spirin, was repaired several times: the first time - in 1927, then in 1932 and 1953. The changes were minor - the interiors were repainted in blue, fawn, gray, white tones, the government box was rebuilt, doors were replaced, window frames were strengthened. However, every time after the repair, something was lost in the appearance of the theater. For example, the usual color of the interiors disappeared, the chandeliers and lamps from the hall disappeared, the reliefs in the main foyer, the upholstery of the chairs and some other details changed.

In 1965, the first major reconstruction of the Volkovsky Theater was carried out, or rather, its restructuring. A large volume was added to the existing building, almost doubling the theater's size. According to the idea of the chief director of the theater F.E. Shishigin and the head of the architectural reconstruction of the theater - the artist A.M. Levitan - sculptural bas-reliefs were made in the foyer of the 2nd floor. In the plot of these bas-reliefs - a kind of theatrical "life" of the first Russian actor Fyodor Volkov: the most important episodes of the play "Fyodor Volkov", staged by the People's Artist of the USSR F.E. Shishigin on the Volkovskaya stage in 1963. The restructuring of 1965 was done very successfully - the appearance of the architectural monument was not damaged.

In connection with the preparations for the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the first Russian theater, in 1997 a competition was announced for the reconstruction of the building. The winner in this competition was the project of the company "Designprostranstvo". Based on archival documents, the company's specialists came to the conclusion that in the old part of the theater only repair and restoration work. Analysis of the drawings of the architect N.A. Spirina showed that some of the fragments he designed were not implemented during the construction of the theater, for example, there was no decorative stucco molding framing the windows of the second floor of the side facades. The probes made by the restorers in the interior and on the facades helped to reveal their original color: the lower floor was painted with ocher with a touch of pink, and the upper one was painted with light ocher.

The biggest controversy among restorers prompted a proposal to replace the three-figure sculpture on the main façade. Although it was made according to the drawing by N.A. Spirin, but has a secondary character and was borrowed from the outstanding architect of Russian classicism of the 19th century, Domenico Gilardi. With a similar sculpture, Gilardi designed the Musical Pavilion of the Horse Yard in the estate of Count S.M. Golitsyn in Kuzminki in 1820-1823. In addition, Gilardi completed a similar group in the same years for the house of Prince S.S. Gagarin. For this reason, the Yaroslavl architects came to the conclusion that the restoration of the sculpture does not make sense, it turned out to be easier to replace

The second day continues under the sign of "Gogol Center" and "KS". After yesterday's shock: a sudden search at Kirill Serebrennikov's, the imprisonment of actors in the theater and deprivation of their mobile communications, the release of multi-million sums allegedly stolen in the information field, the interrogation of the Constitutional Court and the release home, finally, the detention of two defendants - journalists come to their senses. Ask questions, sometimes get answers.

Kirill Serebrennikov.

Human question - how can you treat people like that? Even some suspects. Keep people (mostly young people) in the closed space of one theater by confiscating their mobile phones. And if one of them at this time is looking for a mother who feels bad? She needs medicine, and her son/daughter is not responding, as if she has sunk into the water. Can you imagine the state of mother, grandmother, father, wife? And I, a mother and not a timid dozen, have a very good idea. Are we talking about arresting a group of terrorists? What can actors, just performers, know about the life of the administration of their theater, or the parallel creative life of an artistic director, so much that one can seriously fear the leakage of some important information.

An honest question - in this story, Kirill Serebrennikov is now the loudest, and even those who have not heard of him before, as well as of the Gogol Center, are now aware - they are beaten, offended, but it does not matter for what. Nobody cares about the essence of economic claims and suspicions. The politics, the regime, whose main victim is Kirill Serebrennikov, is worried. It’s even boring from such stereotyped thinking, where the talented artist himself becomes the main stereotyped figure. It's like a portfolio for him - political capital? And all?

But two names associated with him in this case were named - Yuri Itin and Nina Maslyaeva. Nobody talks about them, as if they don't exist. They do not shout as about the victims, unjustly tied. It seems to be a self-evident fact: it is they who will be responsible for those 216 million rubles that are "hung" on the "Seventh Studio" and its main project five years ago - "Platform".

So, who are these people who today, apart from the Investigative Committee and journalists, are not remembered? Yuri Itin, the former director of the Seventh Studio, is today the director of the first Russian theater - the Volkov Theater in Yaroslavl. A graduate of GITIS, at one time he was deputy rector of the theater institute, and has been working in Yaroslavl for seven years now. I called the artistic director of the Volkovsky Theater Yevgeny Marcheli. He is shocked, because he learned about the detention of his director while on tour in Omsk.

- We have been working with Yuri Konstantinovich for seven years. I have nothing but good recommendations: the most competent specialist, he won’t miss a single comma. For seven years, he was a theater that stood in the center of the city in a terrible state, and trees grew from its walls, overhauled the building along the facade, made major repairs, changed the stage. And he did all this without stopping the work of the theater.

Yuri Itin is truly one of the best Russian directors, just go to the theater to understand this: cleanliness, order, and most importantly, the production process is ensured by the creative process: premieres are released one by one on three stages. The reputation of the theater in the eyes of the regional authorities has grown.

Now Nina Maslyaeva is a former accountant at Seventh Studio. I get her characterization at the theater "At the Nikitsky Gates", where since the end of 2015 she has been working as a chief accountant.

“A wonderful worker, we have no complaints about her,” says artistic director Mark Rozovsky. - We, of course, shuddered when we heard on TV about the detention of Nina. We did not know that she worked with Kirill Serebrennikov at the Seventh Studio. You know, it is difficult to find a worthy chief accountant in a budgetary institution, especially in a theater. We are pleased with her work.

Now the question is: will the theatrical community stand up to protect these people? Or will they be shooters?

Another one that excites everyone - theatrical and non-theatrical. If there were any violations (and this still needs to be proven), why was it necessary to bring the matter to sudden searches, leaking “criminal” information “about a criminal conspiracy” to news agencies, which only confuses everyone, because there is too much muddy? Otherwise, for two days the country has been captured by a theatrical detective, as if it were a drug cartel whose network is branching out across Russia.

And the main question - will the results of checking the work of the "Seventh Studio" at Winzavod be made public? Which will put an end to the "i": were there really violations or, on the contrary, everything is clean? Is it mismanagement or normal human weakness? Until this happens, clarity will not come, and suspicions and rumors will multiply, stable myths will form - about political victims, innocent creators, the struggle of the Kremlin towers. However, as life shows, one should not hope for access to information of this kind.

The defendants in the fraud case, in which there were searches at the Gogol Center, are suspected of embezzling not 200 million, but 1 million 300 thousand rubles. It is this amount that is indicated in the case file, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of the Presnensky Court of Moscow. Yuri Itin and Nina Maslyaeva were detained - this is the former general director and former chief accountant of the Seventh Studio, founded by director Kirill Serebrennikov. Lawyer Pavel Tepukhin said that Maslyayeva was ready to admit her guilt and make a deal with the investigation. At the same time, Yuri Itin insists on his innocence.

The Association of Theater Critics saw political overtones in the searches at the Gogol Center

The organization expressed its support to the defendants in the criminal case on the embezzlement of 200 million rubles allocated by the Seventh Studio - the artistic director of the Gogol Center Kirill Serebrennikov, the director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater Sofya Apfelbaum and the ex-head of the Seventh Studio Yuri Itin.

Sokurov told how director Serebrennikov feels after searches and interrogation

According to investigators, from 2011 to 2014, persons from among the leadership of the Seventh Studio stole budgetary funds in the amount of about 200 million rubles, allocated by a decree of the Russian government for the development and popularization of art.

On suspicion of fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the ex-general director of the Seventh Studio, Yuri Itin, who currently heads the Fyodor Volkov Theater in Yaroslavl, as well as the former chief accountant Nina Maslyaeva, who already "cooperating with the investigation."

The Moscow mayor's office urged not to escalate the situation around the searches in the "Gogol Center"

Director General of the Bolshoi Theater Vladimir Urin has already written a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin because of the searches at the artistic director of the Gogol Center. “I think the way it was done with respect to the director is wrong. He is an artist, a person who is not responsible, from my point of view, and, as I know, not responsible for the financial component,” writes Urin.

Earlier it became known that the former general director and ex-chief accountant of the Seventh Studio organization, created by the artistic director of the Gogol Center Kirill Serebrennikov, Yuri Itin and Nina Maslyaeva were detained in the case of embezzlement.

Theatrical elite wrote a letter to Putin in defense of the Rostov director Kirill Serebrennikov

Even famous Moscow actors came to the defense of Kirill Serebryannikov. Colleagues in the theater collected signatures in support of the director, and actor Yevgeny Mironov found a reason to hand over the document to President Vladimir Putin after the presentation of high awards in the Kremlin. The petition was supported by such masters as Oleg Tabakov, Mark Zakharov, Chulpan Khamatova, Sergey Garmash and many others.

Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee of Moscow reported that two suspects had already been detained in the case of embezzlement of budgetary associations - the former general director of the Seventh Studio, Yuri Itin, and the former chief accountant, Nina Maslyaeva. They are suspected of embezzling budget money from 2011 to 2014. The total amount of stolen funds amounted to 200 million rubles. Former employees of the "Seventh Studio" are charged with the article "Fraud on an especially large scale."

“When it was all over, she went out, squatted down the wall and cried”

Moscow has been in a fever for a week in connection with the case of Kirill Serebrennikov and his no longer existing project "Platform" of the "Seventh Studio". And this fever resembles the delirium of a seriously ill person, in whose feverish delirium no one can make out anything. All in one heap - the artist Serebrennikov (supposedly his authorities "smear" for the opposition), the Gogol Center (not relevant to the case), the Seventh Studio (ceased to exist) and, finally, the amounts (change every day from one million 286 thousand to 216 million). With money in general, no one can make ends meet. And not only with them. What's happening? Why is there no information? Is it deliberately done or is the system so stupid that it doesn't understand what it's doing? "MK" tried to make ends meet.

Yuri Itin in court.

What is known today? The accountant of the "Seventh Studio" Nina Maslyaeva was detained and sent to a pre-trial detention center. The woman is not young, and once in the cell, God knows with whom (judging by the photo), she has aged completely. Question: why did the court choose such a measure of restraint and she was sent to a pre-trial detention center, and not under house arrest? Is she the main villain? Again, according to rumors that came to us from the theatrical bowels: Maslyaeva first agreed to cooperate with the investigation, promised to start testifying, but suddenly, quite unexpectedly, she changed her lawyer and, obviously, on his advice, went into “refusal”.

Here, however, it is necessary to pay attention to several nuances. First, the Moscow Themis's almost demonstrative disregard for the Supreme Court's directive: entrepreneurs should not be sent to prison before trial. Especially women. Especially the older ones. And it seems that in the whole country in 2016 the number of businessmen behind bars decreased (by 24%), in the capital the situation is fundamentally different. The arrest of Maslyayeva is the best example of this.

Secondly, we cannot fail to notice that Maslyaeva had a relapse. Let us turn to the archives of the Bryansk Court - it was in this regional center, in the accounting department of the drama theater, that Nina Leonidovna worked before moving to Moscow. Twice - in June and July 2009 - she did not credit the proceeds from the sale of tickets for performances, wrote out a false receipt for a cash receipt, and appropriated the money. The lady admitted her guilt in embezzlement and received more than a mild sentence - deprivation of the right to engage in financial activities for 1.5 years. Perhaps, when choosing a measure of restraint in the Presnensky court, they were guided precisely by the "dirty" legal history of the accountant. But - again - there are objective assessments: Nina Leonidovna does not pull at all on the hardened plunderer of state property. In the same archives of the Bryansk court there is a civil case in which Maslyaeva already acts as a victim. The deputy director of the theater took a loan, his colleague acted as a guarantor, and when the loan was overdue, the court punished both - almost 43 thousand rubles. So think about what is more here - prudence or bungling.

Yuri Itin, former director of the Seventh Studio and now director of the Fyodor Volkov Theater in Yaroslavl, was left by the court under house arrest until July 19. No communication with him - it is forbidden to communicate by phone or the Internet. But he is still at home, although his position is not to be envied. Directors and artistic directors of federal and Moscow theaters collected signatures under a letter in defense of Itin. Among the signatories are Vladimir Urin, Alexander Kalyagin, Mark Varshaver, Leonid Osharin, Maria Revyakina. Evgeny Mironov, Igor Zolotovitsky, Evgeny Pisarev, Anton Getman. True, such a powerful wave as with Serebrennikov did not work out - Itin is not a political figure, but just an excellent director, a high-class professional.

We contacted Yuri Lysenko, Yuri Itin's lawyer, and he told MK about what was happening to his ward and his family these days.

- I communicate with him constantly, because he is now alone. His wife and daughter are isolated from him. His condition is not very good, or rather, not good, because he is a person from another world. He could not even imagine that there could be such a monstrous injustice to simply take a person and throw him into a jail. He said everything - that he does not know these companies, does not know the persons that the investigators are talking about, but nevertheless he is a suspect. So what is the state of affairs here? Of course, he tries to hold on, says that he, as a man, will take everything into his hands, everything will stabilize. But I think that we still need to proceed from the realities and build our own line of defense.

- Yuri Andreevich, it is known that they interrogated his wife and 20-year-old daughter Itina. In social networks they write that she was “pressed”, that the interrogation lasted 12 hours. To what extent can this be trusted?

- I have already spoken and spoke in court about this. You see, there is a rule of investigation. Before a citizen is interrogated, he is explained his rights provided for by law, and the witness also has rights. For example, the right to use the provision of the Constitution, namely Article 51: a citizen has the right to testify, that is, to testify against himself or his relatives, or not to testify, the citizen himself decides. Among this circle, of course, are father, mother, brothers, sister, spouses, children - and so these rights of Yuri Itin's daughter Marina were not actually explained. And she didn't know about it. Why do I emphasize "actually"? Yes, they persuaded her for 12 hours ... But when she signed the protocol, it was indicated that all these rights were explained to her. The cynicism lies in the fact that she was pressured to testify, and then she was warned about criminal liability for disclosing the investigation data. That is, she was forced to testify against her own father and forbade anyone to talk about it.

- Marina is studying at the Moscow Art Theater School at the Faculty of Management, so tell me: what evidence can she give about the Seventh Studio?

- My father was in Yaroslavl, he directed the theater, and the Seventh Studio was in Moscow. And here you need to make copies of documents in order, for example, to submit to the tax office, so he attracted his daughter as an assistant. He could not quit his job in Yaroslavl, so she provided him with technical assistance. And she is brought to the point, as I understand, that she almost falsified the documents herself. That's where the cynicism lies. She says in court: “Yes, I don’t know what is there, I made copies ...” But no, they demanded certain testimony from her.

You know, when I saw her there... She was let out twice to go to the toilet and drink water. And then to the toilet - accompanied by a man. And then, when it was all over, she went out, slid down the wall and slid down like she was crying. “What is it? Now, probably, dad will be imprisoned because of me. And no longer says anything, like a fish on ice. And the girl is just beginning to live with such a catastrophic lie. She is now unable to continue her studies. Even now she is not very aware of her condition (it's like after an accident), the post-traumatic state is just coming. She can't sleep well. I tell my mother: calm down, we will figure it out, justice will prevail. She walks down the street, and it seems to her that she is being followed. By the way, on Monday it will be known whether Yuri Konstantinovich will be allowed to serve house arrest with his wife and daughter.

- Then there will be an investigation: interrogations, investigative actions ... At the end of the investigation, all the materials will be provided to the defense, and from these materials it will be possible to draw a conclusion: who is to blame, who is being covered, who is being made as switchmen. But focusing only on the media is not worth it. Our task is to make sure that the investigation finds the truth, the truth, not in order to shield someone - the truth is needed. Truth is our salvation. My client Yuri Itin has nothing to do with this crime.

Are you absolutely sure of his innocence?

“I didn’t doubt it, and I don’t doubt it one iota.

- You say so on the basis of the case?

“I haven't studied the case. But business is just business. Here it is necessary to demand protection in order to establish the truth, to carry out certain investigative actions, to provide evidence, and so on. So fact does not mean truth.

How long do you think the investigation will take?

- This is not a weather forecast, not ready to do it. The minimum period of investigation established by law is two months. We must not forget what the underlying reason is - we are talking about the theft of budget money. And the budget, by law, applies to all citizens, so there will be a particularly scrupulous approach to the investigation. A lot of time is needed to interview all the defendants, to conduct face-to-face confrontations, and so on.

Unexpected news came at night from Moscow. On May 23, Yuri Itin, director of the Yaroslavl Volkov Drama Theater, was detained. He was interrogated in the framework of the case of embezzlement of budget funds in the amount of 200 million rubles.

We are talking about the period of Itin's work as the general director of the metropolitan autonomous non-profit organization Seventh Studio. According to investigators, the theft occurred from 2011 to 2014. Also in connection with this case, searches were carried out in the Gogol Center and in the apartment of its artistic director Kirill Serebrennikov, who was the artistic director of the Seventh Studio.

In general, the Yaroslavl Theater is lucky for big names. Shortly after leaving Volkovsky, the former director Boris Mezdrich staged the disgraced opera Tannhäuser in his Novosibirsk theater, which was accused of blaspheming Jesus Christ. And now Itin.

For us, the arrest of Itin was a complete surprise, they say in the theater.

Many employees have a good opinion about the director: itin could be visited at any time in a simple way, to discuss some idea. They say that he is open to undertakings, easy-going, temperamental, actively participated in the discussion of the theater's repertoire, although the artistic director Yevgeny Marchelli still had a decisive voice in this matter. Together they continued the demolition of the old Volkovsky begun by Mezdrich with his many years of classics and introduced many new performances into the repertoire.

The audience treated the premieres ambiguously: there were both praises and criticism. It feels like the performances are more designed for the average viewer without high theatrical frills. But, nevertheless, over the 6 years of work of the Itin-Marcelli tandem, Volkovsky took the Golden Mask several times, became the owner of the Stanislavsky Prize, won the Theater Olympus. And last year, Itin himself was awarded a medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.

They say that the director was breathing unevenly towards awards and recognition. Therefore, he constantly kicked the troupe on tour, competitions, festivals. But the business executive was allegedly average.

He is an excellent diplomat, he knows with whom to communicate, with whom to be friends. He does not quarrel with anyone, he seeks compromises. But he doesn't like to deal with paperwork. If Mezdrich carefully read each document, this one decided everything quickly, in a swoop. He was not interested in the details, they told us in the theater.

Nevertheless, under Itin, the facade was restored in the theater, the stage was changed, and the salary was slightly increased.

By the way, Itin was represented by the Yaroslavl beau monde in 2011 Sofya Apfelbaum, who at that time worked in the Ministry of Culture. It is known that she was also interrogated in the case in which Itin was detained.

Many people in the theater did not even know that, in parallel with the Volkovsky Theater, Yuri Itin directed the Seventh Studio for several years, until Kirill Serebrennikov brought his performance on tour. Then a joint project of the two theaters was planned - “Who should live well in Rus'”. But in the end it was put up by one Serebrennikov. Why the paths of the two former partners diverged is not known in Yaroslavl.

The incident will not affect the activities of the theater in any way. Performances and tours will take place according to the schedule, - said the press secretary of the Volkovsky Theater Yuri Sobolev.

Whether someone will be temporarily appointed to the place of Yuri Itin has not yet been decided.
