Often in spring and summer, on quiet, silent evenings, if you are close to a reservoir, you can hear the chorus of frogs: “Kwa-kva-kva!”. This chorus is so polyphonic and loud that you wonder how many frogs sing this song? Yes, the number of these small animals from the class of amphibians, or amphibians, is quite large in different reservoirs. These animals, on average, reach a height of up to 10 cm, and more often even less. But in a jump, thanks to the spreading of its long legs, the frog can increase sufficiently in size in such a kind of stretched form. Frogs are adapted to live both in water and on land. Basically, they are green or brown. Only the inhabitants of the tropics sometimes have a very bright warning color, since their skin often contains poisonous glands, the liquid of which is dangerous for contact with other organisms. We want to teach you how to draw a frog step by step with a pencil in our lesson.

Stage 1. Draw a long oval obliquely across the entire sheet of paper. At the bottom of the oval we make another smaller oval. Draw a broken line behind the oval.

Stage 2. Let's start drawing out the contours of the frog's body. On the oval we draw the back, then the back with a curve, go to the bulging eye, outline the front of the muzzle and end here on the thoracic region. Draw a long groove along the back of the frog from the head to the thigh (smaller oval).

Step 3. Now draw the median line. In front of her draw a rounded eye.

Stage 4. We show the bent hind limb of the frog. On the oval we outline a plump thigh, which slightly covers the bent lower leg.

Stage 5. At this stage, we will depict the front foot of an amphibian. It starts just below the neck line, bends at the elbow joint and runs in front of the hind leg.

Step 6. Let's draw the second hind limb of the animal. It is also bent and consists of a massive thigh and lower leg.

Stage 7. We finish drawing the hind leg, showing the long foot of the frog with fingers.

Sometimes the desire to portray something is so strong that we pick up a pencil and start creating. But what if nature has not endowed you with the talent of Picasso, and when you try to draw something, you end up with only pathetic scribbles? Today we will reveal to you some drawing secrets and tell you how to draw a frog step by step.

Work area preparation

The first step in this exciting activity is the preparation of the workplace and the necessary tools. Of the latter, you will need the following:

Now you have everything to start fruitful work. If you don't know how to draw a frog and are afraid to ruin another landscape sheet, don't be shy, just follow the instructions below step by step, line by line. Drawing this or that object or animal is actually not such a complicated process as it seems at first glance. The main thing in this matter is to correctly sketch the lines and make the picture believable.

Examine the object carefully

Before you draw a frog, carefully examine the "experimental" object. It is unlikely that you have the opportunity to draw it from life, so turn to the help of photographs or pictures. Carefully consider the image and mentally determine the main features and proportions of the amphibian. What immediately catches your eye? How is a frog different from other amphibians? What characteristic features does she have?

When drawing, pay attention to the essential features of the object: bulging eyes, large mouth and long hind legs.

Determination of the position of the frog

The second step to a believable drawing is choosing the frog's pose. You need to determine how to draw a frog: in profile or in front. It is easiest for a novice artist to depict her sitting, in profile. When you gain experience in the visual arts, you will be able to take on more complex drawings.

Analysis of the composition

An important action that affects how the drawing will be perceived is the composition (the correct location of the object on a sheet of paper). Determine the center point of the leaf and mentally imagine where the future frog will be located. Delineate the center with two intersecting lines. The dimensions and exact proportions of the drawing relative to the “canvas” are also important. The image should not be too large or, on the contrary, barely noticeable.

The drawing process, or How to draw a frog for a child and an adult

Consider the stages of the image of a sitting frog in profile.

Step 1. In the center of the sheet, draw an elongated oval at a slight slope. It will become the body of the future amphibian.

Step 2 At the top of the oval, draw a small circle - the head of the object. The circle should intersect with the oval due to the fact that the frog's neck is usually not pronounced. Therefore, her head should smoothly pass into the body.

Step 3 On both sides of the head of an amphibian are bulging eyes with upper and lower eyelids. In order to recreate them on paper, draw two circles at a short distance from each other. Since you are going to draw a frog in profile, you do not need to draw the pupil of the second eye. In the middle of the second one, draw a small oval standing vertically. Supply the eye with eyelids from below and above.

Step 4 Having found the central point between the eyes, draw down an oblique line along a length approximately equal to the height of the head. From the end point of this line, draw a second inclined line in the opposite direction down. It should reach eye level. Draw the animal's mouth in a small vertical arc.

Step 5 Label the front frog legs. To do this, in the upper part of the body, stepping back two fingers, draw down two parallel short lines at an arbitrary angle. Draw four fingers on the front foot, do the same with the second limb.

Step 6 The hind legs of an amphibian are longer than the front ones, they make up about 1/3 of the entire body. And in a sitting frog, they are folded. Using parallel lines draw the thigh, lower leg and five toes on the hind foot. Unite the fingers with the arches (webs). Indicate the second hind limb, depicting only the part of it that is visible.

Step 7 Finish the remaining details (abdomen, mouth, nostrils)? bring the drawing to mind with smooth curved lines. Erase unnecessary contours and lines with an eraser.

Now you know how to draw a frog step by step using a simple pencil. You can also color it if you wish. Don't be afraid to experiment. For example, in order to draw a frog in a jump, it is enough to change the hind and front legs in the drawing, depicting them straightened. Or you can add a long tongue to the frog, which will make the drawing more interesting. If you are tormented by the question of how to draw a traveler frog, just add a parachute to your drawing.

The theme of this lesson is "How to draw a frog", or maybe not a simple one, but a fabulous Frog Princess. After all, you always want to draw a picture of the characters in a read book about a traveler frog or about how a frog turned into a princess. It is better for children to draw a frog drawing with a simple pencil in stages, at first outlining only the general outlines of the frog. First draw a stone on which the frog sits, if it is the Frog Princess or lotus leaves in the lake. And then, step by step, draw the whole picture. To make the frog look like a fairy princess, in the last step draw a small crown on its head and an arrow lying next to it.

1. The initial contours of the frog

To make the picture of the frog accurate, first draw three ovals, as in my drawing, and one dash for the front paw. While it will be difficult to imagine that this is a frog, but you will see how these contours will gradually turn into frog drawing, as if like in a fairy tale, when the frog turns into a princess.

2. Head and hind legs of a frog

It is not difficult to draw the outline of the head with two lines connecting at an angle. And add two dashes for the hind legs. Is the picture already becoming like a frog?

3. Draw in detail the torso and paws

To the initial contours of the front paws, draw parallel lines and "fingers". Do almost the same on the hind legs of the frog. Don't forget to add a belly line with a pencil and make the back a little higher than the original contour by drawing an additional line on top of the oval. Now it's time to erase the extra contour lines with an eraser, and look, the frog is ready to put on the princess crown.

4. The frog drawing is almost finished

At this stage, look carefully to see if all the proportions are accurate, while you can still correct inaccuracies. Draw two arcs for the eyes, and pay attention to the "tail", or rather, what is left of it after the frog has grown. You know that small frogs (tadpoles) have only a head and a tail, and after the frog grows up, the tail turns into only a small tubercle.

5. The final stage of the drawing

Well, now we can say that we succeeded draw a frog and you can paint it in the desired color and draw the surrounding landscape. If you have not drawn a stone on which a frog or a lotus leaf sits, as in my drawing, then do it before painting.
The frog will most likely be your princess, so of course she needs to draw a crown. To make it clear that this is a character from the fairy tale "The Frog Princess", draw an arrow next to it, sent by Ivan.

Today we have the most common frog, drawn in a cartoon style. There will be no realism here, so the drawing lesson will not be the most difficult. Let's get started with the frog drawing lesson for kids!

Step 1

First, outline the contours of the head and torso. Please note that the head should be much larger than the body. It has the shape of a ball, and the body looks like a smooth figure, slightly expanding downwards.

Step 2

Many, many different lines at first glance, but let's try to figure it out. First, consider the head - here are the lines of the eyes (a pair of elongated ovals), above them - a pair of skin folds, parallel in shape to the lines of the eyes. By the way, the eyes are very high. Below them, still above the conditional center of the head, draw a nose with a mound and a couple of folds of the mouth (they are wide and very similar to ears).

We go down below and draw the limbs. The hind legs are behind the body, they are folded so that the two parts of the legs become almost parallel. The fingers are slightly rounded and widened towards the tips; in general, the limbs should look very thin and weak in comparison with the voluminous figures of the torso and head.

Step 3

We frame the face of our frog. Outline the contours of the eyes, wrinkles and pupils. We draw a mouth, outline the folds under it and directly at the tips of the main line that forms it.

Everyone went fishing or just swam in the river, near which there were frogs and saw what kind of paws they had, well, the shape of the whole body.
