How to draw a mermaid on the branches step by step with a pencil. How to draw mermaids - useful tips

18.06.2019

I wrote this lesson especially for our reader Anya Goryainova. There were a lot of requests to make a lesson about that, I searched the internet for a few examples. Most of all I liked the lesson from Dragoart. Here we will try to draw such a little mermaid.

How to draw a mermaid step by step:

STEP 1. Let's start with a sketch. We draw with lines the position in which Ariel is located. We start by drawing the shape of the head and move on to the torso. Make a rounding on the chest, and also note that her tail forks like a fish. STEP 2. Draw the hair. Look carefully at their shape, try to draw them as accurately as possible. STEP 3. Draw the face. Let's start by drawing the nose, then move on to the eyes. Draw two small circles for her eyes and then make black pupils. We turn to drawing the neck and chest of the princess. Please note that one hand will not be fully visible. Draw shells on the chest. STEP 4. Draw the second hand. Immediately try to depict it in detail, with your fingers. There is nothing much to write about, everything is clear here, the lines are simple. You can also see how to draw a dragon's tail. They are very similar. STEP 5. And proceed to the detailing of the picture. Let's add fins on her tail and sharpen the lines of Ariel's body. We erase the auxiliary lines that we applied at the beginning of the drawing, and outline the contours. Here's how it should turn out: I, like a real lazy "artist", spent a lot of time and effort on this picture, but I am pleased with the result. This is how my Little Mermaid turned out: And I also colored it with colored pencils: How do you like my Ariel? Show your work and write in the comments what other lessons to prepare. You can see more drawing lessons of other cartoon characters, for example.

The theme of this lesson is "How to draw a mermaid" in stages with a simple pencil. To learn how to draw pictures of mermaids, you need to be able to draw girls and the tail of a dolphin or a large fish correctly. A mermaid is half fish, half human. In addition, for greater realism of the picture, you need to draw the mermaid not only the tail, but also the fish scales on it. A prerequisite for a picture of a mermaid should be the presence of a reservoir or the sea, because they live only in water.

1. Draw a Curved Line for the Mermaid's Body

As always, we start the drawing by drawing the main contour of the mermaid - her torso. Draw a downward curved line and add another line for the shoulders and a dividing line for the mermaid's tail and body. The picture will turn out beautiful and accurate, if at this stage you correctly make the contour markings.

2. Contours of the head, belly and tail

At this stage, you need to draw a circle above the shoulders for the mermaid's head. In addition, you need to draw the waist and hips, as well as outline how the tail fin will be located in the drawing.

3. Draw the shape of the body and tail of the mermaid

In any picture, a mermaid always looks beautiful and graceful, because, according to myths, she has an unusual attractiveness and beauty. The arm bent at the elbow only emphasizes her "charm". At this stage of the drawing, it is enough just to outline the position of the bent arm of the mermaid with a contour line. But the shape of the body and tail must already be drawn completely.

4. Draw the head and hands of a mermaid

Now draw both hands and remove the extra pencil contour lines from the drawing. Mermaid drawing practically ready. It remains only to draw the hair and face.

5. How to draw a girl's face

Try to draw the face as beautifully as possible. Beauty is her "weapon" and the main magic. Add to mermaid drawing and other small details: a rim on the hair, a belt on the stomach and draw the tail fin in detail.

6. The final stage of the drawing

At the final stage, drawing is easier. The drawing of the mermaid is almost complete, it remains only to draw the scales on the tail, shade or color the picture, add a few details to the "outfit" of the mermaid and of course draw the sea.

What is a sailboat without romantic myths about mermaids. In the old days, sailors were afraid not so much of a storm as of the magical charms of mermaids, which is why a wooden female figure was installed at the stern of the ship.

You will definitely get accurate drawings of dolphins if you draw them in stages, first with a simple pencil, and then paint with paints or colored pencils. If you will be draw a mermaid, then this lesson will help you draw her tail.

In this lesson you will learn how to draw a Betta fish. She has a magnificent wavy long tail and in nature she has an unusual color, as if shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow.

The ability to draw the sea will help you when you draw a mermaid. Most often, mermaids are depicted against the backdrop of a gloomy stormy sea, as if symbolizing their evil intentions.

Since a mermaid is half human, before you draw a mermaid, learn how to draw an abstract human figure. This will help you to correctly maintain the proportions of the human body, arms and head.

If you will draw a mermaid, you must be able to correctly and beautifully draw a girl's face. Try drawing the mermaid's face first before moving on to the full mermaid.

Mermaids are beautiful fairy-tale creatures, with which many beautiful and mysterious legends and traditions are associated. Almost every artist sooner or later thinks about how to draw a mermaid. Of course, knowing how to draw a person, you can also draw a mermaid. But most importantly, when learning how to draw a mermaid, you should definitely connect your imagination, so that in the end the illustration looks unusual and interesting. For example, you can depict a little mermaid playing with brightly colored fish or splashing with cheerful dolphins. And you can draw it near the chest with sunken treasures.

1). A sheet of paper;
2). Black pen with gel refill
3). Pencils of various shades;
4). Eraser;
5). A pencil, and both sharpened ordinary and mechanical are perfect.

Now you can move on to studying the question of how to draw a mermaid in stages with a pencil, and then color it:
1. Outline the head and neck of the little mermaid;
2. Draw a profile - nose, eye and mouth. And also mark the top of the hair;
3. With simple lines, mark the location of both hands, and also mark the strands of hair falling on the shoulders of the mermaid;
4. Draw strands of hair that cover the front of the torso. Draw the hands of a little mermaid;
5. Draw the lower part of the torso. Depict long hair and jewelry in them;
6. Schematically draw the tail of a mermaid;
7. Draw a fin to the tail. Draw the main lower part of the tail. Outline the outlines of the sandy bottom on which the mermaid sits;
8. Draw a fish and a few air bubbles near its mouth;
9. Now you understand how to draw a mermaid with a pencil. But don't stop at this step. It's better to color the drawing. To do this, first circle it with a pen, and then clear the pencil lines with an eraser;
10. Use a pen to shade the location of the stripes on the mermaid's tail;
11. Use flesh and reddish-brown pencils to tone the head, arms and body of the little mermaid;
12. With a pink tint, paint the jewelry on her arm and mark the blush on her cheek. Paint over the lips with red, and the eyes with blue;
13. Color the jewelry in your hair with yellow and red colors. And paint over the mermaid's hair with blue and dark blue pencils;
14. With yellow and brown paint over the belt connecting the tail and the upper body of the little mermaid. Paint her tail with blue-green and yellow tones;
15. Paint over the stripes with an emerald pencil. Then re-toned the tail with a blue-green tint;
16. With a yellow and green pencil, paint over the fin and the end of the tail;
17. Shade the sand with a light brown tone;
18. With a blue pencil, paint over the bubbles and the eye of the fish. And paint the fish itself in yellow and orange tones.

The mermaid drawing is ready! Now you know how to draw a mermaid and you can create a truly fabulous picture!

In this lesson we will learn draw a mermaid. As in the previous lessons, we will draw with a pencil. Each step is detailed and illustrated for easy learning.

Mermaids are very popular mythological creatures that are the main characters of fairy tales, science fiction films and cartoons. Many people dream of learning how to draw these half-maiden half-fish, which are famous for their beauty and original appearance. However, it is not always possible to depict a mermaid realistically. The fact is that mermaids, like other creatures, have special proportions and details that should be observed. Of course, no one has seen mermaids, and we can only guess what they really look like, inspired by the images of other artists, however, during the time that there are beliefs in these amazing creatures, their appearance in the imagination of people on all continents has developed approximately the same. The main difficulties in drawing mermaids are: creating an image, the moment of “attaching” the body to the fish tail - the place and shape, as well as the size of the tail itself, the texture of the tail, and so on. These and other questions will be addressed in our step by step lesson on drawing a mermaid Further.

As with drawing any other objects, the mermaid should be started with sketch main lines. In order to make it easier for us to draw all the elements and parts of the mermaid's body, and at the same time not to mess with the proportions, these things must be done at the very first stage. First, you must immediately imagine how our mermaid will look like, and in what position she will be. To determine the position, you can make preliminary sketches on a separate sheet of paper or here with a very slight pressure of the pencil. After you have decided on the position of the mermaid's body, you need to draw a center line from the very head to the tip of the tail. We will divide the center line into two halves - this will be the division of the upper (human) part of the mermaid and the lower (fish). The mermaid has the same proportions as ordinary women - the length of the legs (tail) is equal to the entire upper body, including the head.

On the center line we string the main shapes: a circle of the head, a little lower with a distance that needs to be left for the neck - an oval of the upper body and an oval of the hips, between them you can draw a smaller circle that will indicate the size of the waist. It is worth remembering that a sketch of a mermaid must be drawn with a very weak pressure on the pencil, so that later it can be easily removed with an ordinary diligent rubber band. In this drawing, the main lines are made in bold for clarity, in your own drawings, you sketch with slightly noticeable lines.

Next, draw a general view tail as it shown on the picture. The tail looks like a large elongated drop. The size of the tail should be approximately equal, sometimes slightly longer, to the total height of the upper body with the head. Previously, we divided the center line into two parts, but the tail fin is drawn below, since it no longer belongs to the body, but in the perception of a person it is seen as a separate element, almost like a hairstyle on the head, which is also not included in the dimensions and proportions of building the body. If you make the size of the tail much larger or smaller, then the viewer may experience a certain dissonance of perception, which will be based on the fact that in the presented creature there is more than a human or more from a fish, when both parts are the same size or the tail is slightly larger due to the caudal fin, there is a sense of harmony and conformity. At the end of the tail, we schematically draw a forked fin. The fin can be drawn in different ways - it can be a simple triangular shape, like a shark, like a guppy fish, or even a completely exotic shape with a fringe and additional elements.

At the same stage, we showed the shape of the hands. Hands, according to the rules of proportions, reach just below the hips. At the initial stage, we showed them as two lines indicating the size of the shoulders, the locations of the elbows and palms.

At the next stage of building our mermaid, we will make the sketch more formal. Connect all our ovals and lines, and get the overall shape of a mermaid. We connect the head with the body with the neck, then we combine the ovals of the upper body and hips with lines that form the waist. Here we draw the shoulders and general shapes of the arms, which exactly repeat the previously outlined center lines. Thus, already now we see the general form of a mermaid, and it remains for us to bring this form to a finished look.

After we have completed the general construction of the mermaid figure, we can not be afraid that we will distort the proportions when drawing, and now we can proceed directly to drawing. Before proceeding, we erase all the center and base lines that we needed when sketching, since in the future they will be very difficult to remove.

When drawing with a pencil, it is best to start drawing from top to bottom, because if you draw the lower parts first, then if you move your hand unsuccessfully, you can smear the finished parts. Therefore, we begin to draw the head and hair. How to draw the head, eyes, nose, lips, hair and so on, we have already passed in the previous lessons. It is only worth noting that the hair of a mermaid is usually long, lush and fluttering in the water. Traditional decorations for a mermaid, which can be placed in the hair, neck, arms, and so on, are sea plants, shells, starfish.

Further draw the torso and arms. There are a few things to remember and be aware of here. A mermaid usually doesn't have clothes because she lives in the water, so her chest is usually covered by natural hand movements, long hair, sea plants or shells, as shown in this picture. Another point that will make your mermaid look more realistic is that the body transitions into the fishtail is not a smooth horizontal line. Such a line, which sharply demarcates the top and bottom of the mermaid, usually spoils the whole impression of the picture. As one option, the torso turns into a tail with a cone, as we did in this picture, which looks very natural - the tail goes around the bottom of the press and goes up to the hips. If you draw a mermaid from behind, then the tail usually covers the buttocks completely, since the buttocks suggest a continuation under them in the form of two legs, while the fish in this place have a solid tail, based on a single spine. It will be even more natural if you make the transition smooth in the form of scales, which, when moving to human skin, become smaller and rarer and finally disappear. If mermaids really existed or exist, then I think this transition looks exactly like that.

Next, we need to draw scales and fin. Scales can be drawn in different ways. If you want to create the most detailed drawing, then you can draw each scale, like a fish. If you do not want to suffer over the drawing of such small details, then it is quite possible to get by with just a hint of scales. This can be done very simply with the help of intersecting strokes. To do this, you need to make strokes first in one direction, bending, reducing and shortening them as the tail is bent and reduced, and then in the other direction so that you get not squares, but rhombuses, very similar to the texture of the scales. After we have drawn the tail, draw the fin.

After all the necessary elements are completed, we erase all the extra lines that we have left in the drawing process, do a detailed drawing, chiaroscuro or paint over with color.

The Little Mermaid is a mythological and fairy-tale character beloved by many, who became famous thanks to the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen. The little mermaid lives in the depths of the sea. This is a beautiful girl - a sea princess, who has a tail instead of legs, like a fish. In this lesson, we will look at how to draw a mermaid in various ways: starting from the simplest, and ending with detailed and detailed instructions for complex drawings.

Step by step description

We propose to analyze a simple example of how to draw a mermaid in stages. This method is quite simple, does not require special skills and is perfect for beginners.

Stage 1

Let's start with the head: draw a line resembling an open oval.

Let's draw the face: big eyes, mouth, nose and eyebrows.

Then we will draw the hands. This can be done in any way, depending on how the little mermaid will hold them. In the considered embodiment, they are simply lowered down.

Traditionally, a mermaid is depicted dressed in an outfit made of shells. So will we.

Stage 3

The difference between a sea dweller and ordinary people is in her tail. So now we will draw it starting just below the waistline.

Decorate the mermaid's neck with beads.

We will give the tail a resemblance to a fish by drawing scales.

Stage 4

We complete the drawing with the image of hair. In the water, they will be lush and flutter in all directions. Decorate your hair with a starfish.

Little Mermaid in pencil

Below we will consider an example of how to draw a mermaid with a pencil. The technique is a little more complicated, but the result will be just wonderful. In addition, a detailed description of the process will help even beginners to cope.

So let's start with the head. It is important to choose the correct position on the sheet - top and right, since the entire drawing will be horizontal.

Draw the tail below.

Let's draw the hair, long and lush.

Now you can draw in more detail the neck, shoulders and arms.

When depicting the torso, you can immediately outline the clothes of a mermaid made of shells.

Draw a tail starting from the waist. There will be a beautiful frill at the top.

You can draw scales like this: first, draw a grid with thin lines, as shown in the figure. Then emphasize the shadows with bolder lines.

The tail fin is drawn in thin lines from top to bottom. Don't forget to refine the edge.

It remains to complete the hairstyle and our sea princess is ready.

We circle the entire drawing with a thin felt-tip pen or pen, remove the pencil lines with an eraser.

The finished picture can be shaded with white paint, as shown in the figure, or completely painted.

An easy way to draw a mermaid

Another interesting way to draw a mermaid is easy and simple.

Let's draw an oval of the face, and immediately, for convenience, outline the location of the hair around it. This sequence will allow you to draw without a sketch with a pen or felt-tip pen.

We will decorate the hair with a flower.

The upper part of the hairstyle can also be drawn, but we will return to long hair after completing the torso.

Let's draw a cute face for our little mermaid: big eyes, eyebrows and a mouth.

Now we will depict the torso in clothes made of shells.

Below the waist line is a long tail. We will decorate the junction with a belt.

You should also mark small scales.

It remains to draw the hands and the little mermaid figurine is completely ready.

At the end, we draw long hair of arbitrary shape and the seabed, where the baby lives.

The finished drawing is filled with color.

beautiful mermaid

The example described below will help to draw a beautiful mermaid. It is also simple and suitable for both adults and children.

Let's draw the eyes, mouth and nose.

Let's circle them, depicting an oval face.

Then we draw a neck.

The body of a mermaid consists of an upper part (like in humans) and a tail (like in fish).

You can draw any clothes for the mermaid, but in this example she is wearing a short T-shirt.

Now draw the arms and tail fin.

We complete the drawing with an image of a beautiful hairstyle made of long hair with a decoration - a flower.

For the character, you can also draw the seabed, with pebbles and algae.

Ariel

The most famous mermaid is the sea princess from the popular Disney cartoon. We now propose to consider how to draw the mermaid Ariel, the heroine of this animated film.

Let's draw the head first. The first sketch resembles a slightly elongated oval with markings for the subsequent depiction of parts of the face.

We will also begin to refine the sketch from the head. Cartoon characters usually have large, expressive eyes. To achieve maximum similarity, special attention should be paid to this.

Also draw the nose, eyebrows and mouth.

Then we refine the oval of the face and outline the hairstyle.

Now we will work out the figure: the neck and arms.

Ariel is dressed in a beautiful swimsuit made of large shells.

Having drawn the upper body, you can complete the hairstyle.

And at the end we circle the tail. It is separated from the body by a belt at the waist.

The drawing can now be traced along the contour with a thin felt-tip pen, pencil lines can be removed with an eraser.

It remains only to add color and the sea princess Ariel is ready.
