Anna Vladimirovna Shurochkina was born on August 15, 1990 in a family of musicians. Father, Vladimir Vyacheslavovich Shurochkin (born April 12, 1966) - a former member of the musical group "Tender May", the future producer of the singer. Mother, Irina Vladimirovna Shurochkina, sang in a rock band in her youth.

When Anna was two years old, her parents divorced, but her father spent a lot of time with her daughter. Nyusha's half-sister, Maria Shurochkina, is an Olympic champion and eight-time world champion in synchronized swimming. There is also a younger brother - Ivan Shurochkin, who is engaged in tricking.

Nyusha first came to the studio at the age of five and recorded "The Song of the Big Dipper". The singer did not receive a musical education; as a child, she studied with a solfeggio teacher for a year and a half. The piano, by his own admission, does not play very well. She also practiced Thai boxing as a child. At the age of 11, she began performing on stage (as part of the Grizzly group).

The team toured in Russia and Germany. Nyusha's first songs are written in English. Oksana Shurochkina, master of sports in artistic gymnastics, trained Anna in dancing and performing arts.
At the age of 14, she did not pass the age limit at the casting of the Star Factory. At the age of 17, Anna officially changed her name to Nyusha.

Another school year has ended. The long-awaited summer holidays have begun for junior schoolchildren. And graduates have no time to rest - in the midst of the exam. To support the children entering adulthood, singer Nyusha held a creative evening dedicated to the Last Bell and graduation party. Nyusha did not come to the evening alone, with her on the stage of the Great Hall of the International Multimedia Press Center of RIA Novosti, her father, producer, composer and former member of the Tender May group Vladimir Shurochkin, rose to the stage. In the hall, there were graduates of Moscow boarding schools, as well as everyone who wanted to talk with the popular singer and ask her questions.

On choosing a profession

Do you remember the day you realized you wanted to be a singer?

There was no such day. I don't remember at what point I wanted to become a singer. I just grew up with this idea.

- How did your musical abilities manifest themselves? Did you sing in front of your parents?

For as long as I can remember, I've been listening to a lot of music all the time. I liked watching the artists, I was interested in everything related to music. I was lucky to be born into a family of musicians. Dad had a lot of music, mom had a different, but also music (Nyusha's mother Irina Shurochkina sang in a rock band in her youth. - Approx. "TN"). There was a musical atmosphere in our house, it was easy for me to find what I needed.

Nyusha's creative evening dedicated to the Last Bell and graduation party

- Who were you watching? For which artists?

I listened to a huge amount of very different music. I liked that music has huge possibilities and there are no restrictions. Only styles and genres. It was mostly foreign music. Until a certain age, I listened only to foreign music. I liked Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion...

“I think you are being a little disingenuous. As far as I know, as a child you loved ditties?

Well, how I loved ... (Laughs.) It was the first thing I sang. At two years old, I was a very quiet, calm child who did not create any special problems for my parents. One day my grandmother took me to the village with her. I attended evening village gatherings, where everyone danced and sang ditties. I listened to all this, memorized it, and when I came to Moscow to visit my grandmother, I immediately gave her everything I heard. (Laughs.) Everyone was just in shock. Some of the ditties were quite playful.

- You once said that as a child you performed in front of your relatives. Did you get ready, dressed up, set up the stage, set up the chairs? How did it happen?

As a child, I spent quite a lot of time visiting my grandparents. I remember that my grandmother (father's mother) always had handkerchiefs neatly folded on the bedside tables. She had a whole arsenal of these handkerchiefs! And since there was nothing else suitable, I used these handkerchiefs in the tail and in the mane. I put them on like a skirt, like a jacket, tied a handkerchief on top - it was my stage outfit. She laid a towel - it was a line beyond which it was impossible to go, such an impromptu scene. I took a comb instead of a microphone and left. My grandparents didn't have much music. Grandfather listened to very peculiar music, I would say "blatnyak". And grandmother listened to Nadezhda Kadysheva. And they also had a cassette with the song "Casablanca". I sang it to my grandmother. I sang to my grandfather: “My number is 245, there is a seal on the padded jacket ...” (Sings.) I remember it all very well. I knew for sure: I need to please both my grandfather and grandmother. (Laughs.) Therefore, I sang one thing to my grandmother, then changed clothes, took off my top handkerchief and sang something else to my grandfather. These moments are very vividly preserved in my memory. Well, then I began to gradually expand my repertoire.

When I listened to a new artist, it was interesting for me to repeat after him everything to the smallest detail. I wanted to sing exactly like him. And the music was very complex. Especially for artists like Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder. So many nuances... In addition to vocals, I listened to songs in a variety of arrangements. It was interesting for me to study the parts of bass, violins, various other instruments. I could listen to one album for a month. I wanted to know every part of every sound. I could be awakened at night, and I could tell what and how it was played there. It was so interesting to me.

— When you realized that you could reproduce performers perfectly, what was your next step?

I couldn't reproduce everything perfectly. But I was as close to it as possible. At some point, I realized that I can already do a lot. And I wanted to sing in my own way. I wanted to perform the same songs of the same performers in my own style. And I began to search for my style, my chips. I was looking for an opportunity to sing any composition no less interesting than it was sung in the original.

- As far as I know, you started touring quite early? ..

Yes, at 11 years old. I was in the Grizzly group. Dad had a project in mind. He wanted to create a group of two boys and two girls. He found the boys quickly enough, but there were difficulties with the girls. He did not consider my candidacy at first. (Laughs.)

- And you made eyes like a cat from Shrek? Like, take me, dad?

No, it wouldn't work with dad. (laughs) I spent a lot of time in the studio. I was very interested there, it was a completely different world, and I watched everything that happened there. Once I came to the studio and saw a huge number of people there, boys and girls who were singing. That's how I found out about the casting. I was very interested, I sat and secretly listened. I was then almost 11 years old. After a while, I approached my dad and said that I could try to become one of the girls in the group. And that I am a little offended that he does not consider my candidacy. At first he was skeptical about it, and then he let me try ...

In general, my dad is a very serious and reasonable person. And he takes show business just as seriously. When my desire to make music began to manifest itself very actively, he was in no hurry to tell me: “Let me help you.” At some point, I realized that he was watching me. He looks at whether I have the ability, what kind of character I have, whether I can take music seriously and succeed. I am sure that my father saw my abilities in early childhood, but he was in no hurry to tell me about it. And I am sure that from the very beginning he chose the right strategy. He always looked at me as a beloved daughter, and wanted everything to be fine with me. But if we are talking about a profession that must be treated with respect, then family ties fade into the background.

I was always told, “If you want to do something, you have to do it well. If you can't do well, don't do it at all. Choose another profession, one where you feel cozy and comfortable.” With this attitude, I went through life. And I understood that if I do my job poorly, if I don’t succeed, then they will stop believing in me and stop supporting me. I had to prove that I want to make music, that I deserve it. And I have a certain core that will help me on the path of my further development. I had to prove to my dad for quite a long time that I love music and cannot live without it. If he realized that this is just a hobby, and in a year I want to do a completely different thing, he would not seriously deal with me.

“Didn’t dad try to talk you into doing something else?” Choose, say, the profession of a lawyer?

He did not try to dissuade or persuade. He wanted to see my desire, my desire for music and understand how ready I am.

About popularity

- Did your dad push you to take part in the STS Lights a Superstar contest? How did you even become famous?

We did not quite understand then what needs to be done to become a popular artist. I get asked this question very often. They ask what needs to be done to become famous, where to go? In fact, there is no clear answer to this question, because everyone has their own path, everyone has their own events in life. Each person has a jigsaw puzzle that is pieced together to create a picture. At first I did not want to go to the competition. I was scared. I took part in the auditions and did not pass them. And then it was even scarier to go to the next casting. I was a little depressed and insecure. I constantly struggled with my fears. It was scary to go on stage, I was very worried. But at one point, I got on the project "STS lights a superstar" and won.

It was great to be part of this project. I am very grateful to the school that I went to there. I received a huge amount of advice and invaluable experience. In addition, I had the first viewer. He started watching me from the very first stage. And he saw my progress. At that time, still small, but still ... Looking through the recordings of my first performances, I burn with shame. In general, I am a self-critical person, I rarely like something in my own performance. I often criticize myself for some performances, I understand where I could sing better. But at the same time, I am proud of these moments, because I went through them and became stronger. And I am not shy about talking about it and I think that I should not be shy.

Who was the first to tell you that your song was on the radio? Dad? Were you told in person or by phone?

Yes, it was a telephone conversation. But it was not dad who first told me, but Ksyu (Oksana Shurochkina - co-producer, choreographer, art director Nyusha, Vladimir's wife. - Approx. "TN").

Vladimir Shurochkin: I can enlighten you on some of the professional aspects involved in placing material on radio stations. It usually goes like this - we distribute the material to radio stations, but editors and program directors never give specific answers about this. They never give unambiguous answers, whether they like it or not. Everything is very simple - they accept the material, then hold their own artistic council and make a decision. But even if you call them right after that, they will never say: “Yes, we bet.” And then the song suddenly appears on the air in a fabulous way. Or doesn't show up. This is what happened with the Europa Plus radio station. We did not receive a clear answer from them, but then we heard the song on the air and were terribly happy.

It was such a wonderful "Fresh Radio". It all started with him. I remember that Ksyu called me. I was at the store at the time. Naturally, I moved to a corner where there were fewer people and jumped for joy. I remember that I jumped so hard that I knocked down a couple of hangers. (Laughs.). I was just happy. I remember the first time I heard my song on the radio. I was in the car at the time. The radio played quietly, I was driving, stopped at a traffic light, thought about something. There was some kind of long traffic light, I even put the car in the parking lot. And then I hear and do not believe my ears! My song! In a state of slight panic, I begin to look for the radio volume knob. And I don't find it. I forgot about the traffic light by now. I remembered that the speaker is on the left side, and I leaned towards it. The song went on for three minutes, they beeped me from behind, but I listened to the song. (Laughs.) But I put on the emergency gang and they drove around me.

Nyusha at a creative evening dedicated to the Last Bell and graduation party

- Let's talk about the first concert show, which took place in April 2012. What was it called? How was it? What were the jambs? What does the general public not know about?

The show was called "Choose Your Miracle" and I think it went well. We got everything we planned. It was our first big experience, we were all crazy excited. Still, I will not reveal the secrets that should remain behind the scenes ... For all of us, it was important how the audience would react and what they would say after this concert. Will they think of anything? And, most importantly, will they leave the concert inspired and inspired? I hoped that they would come out like after a wonderful film that inspires and gives food for thought. I wanted people to be in harmony after my concert.

- And then there was a tour, and in many cities the concerts were encore? ..

My new show will take place on the second of November in Crocus City and will be called "Association". Now we are developing numbers and we hope that the concert will be original and unusual.

What will we see on this show? Nyusha will appear in a new image?

We will open the veil of secrecy a little later, when we have a full-fledged press conference before the concert.

Vladimir Shurochkin: Any concert of an artist is an energy exchange between him and the audience. The only important thing is how much the artist can open up during the performance and how much he can give to people. Everything else is entourage. Light, beautiful back-dancers, screens - all this, of course, is wonderful. But if there is no serious, sincere message from the artist, no entourage will save.

- Recently, in the show "One to One", Rodriguez reincarnated as you. Did you like his performance? Did you help him prepare the room?

Timur really wanted to do this number on his own. He told me that he did not want to do a parody in its purest form, which is sometimes insulting to the parodied to look at. He wanted the performance to be light and fun. I think that he is a great fellow - he did everything very well. This number caused me a storm of the most positive emotions, I laughed for a long time.

- What is the indicator of popularity for you? Loud applause after the performance? Full room?

Popularity is when you get recognized. But happiness is to see the happy eyes of the audience.

About creativity

— I know that you wrote your first song very early. How did it happen? Did you ask your dad for help?

I always really wanted to sing, I constantly walked and sang something. And dad said that I have the ability to write songs. At my very young age, he saw this tendency and invited his friend, a teacher of solfeggio and vocals, to work with me. Bought me a small synthesizer. It still lies at my house, although now it no longer seems so small to me.

- You didn't go to music school?

I can say that everything I own is what I was able to learn at a fairly young age. There was a period of time (I was going to school then) when I rushed home. I did not want to have fun and go out with friends. After the lessons I went home to listen to music, come up with something, sing. I wanted to achieve some kind of perfection. It seemed to me that it was impossible, but I had to strive for it. Some time after starting classes with a teacher, I learned the chords, started playing and wrote a song. I was 8 years old. The song was called Night ("Night"). There was no text as such. I studied English from early childhood, studied it in kindergarten and at school. And I did pretty well, because I listened to a lot of English music and very well perceived English speech by ear. The teachers praised me, and this stimulated me to further study. But when I composed the song, it was difficult for me to immediately come up with lyrics for it. There was only a set of words, which in the language of musicians is called "fish". And there was one word on which the whole song rested. This is night. The teacher later told me that I wrote the blues and asked for a long time why I chose this particular style. (Laughs.)

- Can you imagine an American singer in America who sings for American citizens in Russian? I think this is a rare case. You are a wonderful singer, and I appreciate you very much, but I think that it is desirable for the Russian audience to sing in Russian so that everyone understands what you are singing about.

I'm not trying to completely get away from the Russian language. The fact is that I grew up on English music, so I originally wrote songs in English. I think that it is very good to speak a language that not only our citizens, but practically the whole world can understand.

Vladimir Shurochkin: The fact is that any Russian musician began his journey with English-language music. It just so happened. The post-Soviet period was deprived of the school of rock, the school of blues, the school of jazz. We had a purely Soviet stage. And all the musical information was scooped from the West. All our modern musicians were brought up on English-language music. And only then they began to sculpt something of their own. The entire music industry, the entire show business industry is located in England and the USA. And I think that there is nothing wrong with that. English is truly an international musical language that everyone speaks.

- Tell us about your joint work with your father? How does this happen? Do you write your songs alone or does your dad help you?

We have a completely different approach to writing music. We have completely different ways. Dad comes to his room, takes the guitar, turns on the recorder and starts playing, humming something for a period of time, an hour or two. Then he listens to these recordings and takes pieces from them, which he then assembles into a single composition. And sometimes the composition is obtained immediately - solid and wonderful. I can not do that. I have a mood when I understand that I need to run home faster, I need to turn on the computer and write something down. I feel that I am overwhelmed with emotions that need to be told as soon as possible. All the songs that I have are little stories from my life, these are the emotions that I have ever experienced. I feel them to the tips of my nails. All emotions come to me in different ways, something inspires me, some thoughts swirl in my head ...

— What can inspire you?

Many things. I can watch some wonderful movie and draw a conclusion. Or remember that there was an incident in my life that would be worth telling about. I can be inspired by the smile of a passerby or a phrase said by a friend. Sometimes I dream about something, and in the morning I wake up with some kind of melody. Sometimes a phrase comes to my mind, from which I then start when writing the text. And already under the text I write a melody. Sometimes I am overwhelmed with feelings. I don't know what I want to say, so I just go to the piano and start playing. And it's a melody. And the text can be written in a month.

Vladimir Shurochkin: Her songwriting style is pure inspiration. I write more like a craftsman, I assemble a song like a constructor. At first I improvise for a long time, fixing it all with the help of a voice recorder or a computer. Then verses and choruses are obtained from this. But this method came to me with experience. Perhaps Nyusha will use this scheme a little later. But the way she does now is really honest and sincere. And rightly so.

About personal

Does your dad often criticize you? Or does he have such blind paternal love that everything you don't do seems genius to him?

Of course not. I do not want to say that I was never praised, but only criticized, but in my childish mind there was an impression that there were more criticisms against me. But it was an absolutely justified criticism, because it pushed me to development and brought up certain character traits in me. I think criticism is very important. But it should be in certain portions and from certain people, because the criticism of those who do not play any role for me is not important to me. After all, it can be groundless and ridiculous. The harshest criticism is the one I hear from my loved ones. I just take her seriously. She is the one who guides me.

- Tell us about your first love? Was she in kindergarten or school?

I don't remember anything like that in kindergarten. (Laughs.) And in elementary school, I really liked the boy who studied with me in the same class. I came up with an affectionate nickname for him, Puffy. In the second grade, I even dedicated my first essay to him. There was no name, but it was dedicated to this particular person. His name was Sasha.

Do you have fans that you are friends with?

I'm friends with all my fan clubs. We communicate by meeting at any events.

Vladimir Shurochkin: On every tour in every city there is a meeting with a local fan club. It takes place in an informal setting. The guys come, gather in the dressing room, Nyusha communicates with them, takes pictures, devotes as much time to them as she can.

About sport

- How do you feel about the fact that your sister Masha has achieved great success in synchronized swimming (Nyusha's half-sister Maria Shurochkina is the world, European and Russian junior champion in synchronized swimming. - Approx. "TN")? Are you not jealous?

No, of course not, what nonsense! (Laughs.) I am very glad that everything is fine with her, and she found herself in this sport. She succeeds, she knows what she wants, and it's really difficult. We still have a brother (Nyusha's younger brother Ivan Shurochkin. - Approx. "TN"), who does not know what he wants to do. And he is very tormented and worried about this. And we support him with all our might. And I'm very happy for my sister. I also support her and in no way envy her. Well, except perhaps the whitest envy. I really like that she is so good. My sister is a world and European champion in synchronized swimming. Now she is part of our adult team.

Nyusha at a creative evening dedicated to the Last Bell and graduation party

What sports did you do as a child?

I did a lot of things as a child. Swimming, Thai boxing. GPP - general physical training has always been present in my life.

What sports do you like the most?

Now my favorite sport is beach volleyball, because I can participate in it myself. I really love this game, and when I have time, I play it with pleasure.

About school

- Nyusha, do you remember your high school graduation?

I remember my graduation very well. True, at that moment I did not understand the beauty of this event. We got together with people with whom I studied and spent quite a lot of time. It was good and fun. And now, after some amount of time, I understand that it was an amazing moment, because I talked with some of the guys for the last time. We didn't see each other again. Therefore, these memories are of great value to me. I will always remember my graduation.

— How did you study in general? How did your relationship develop with your classmates? What were your grades?

Everything was great in elementary school. I studied well. It was interesting to me. But in the sixth grade, I already started to get distracted: I thought a lot about music, skipped teachers’ explanations in class, and didn’t have time to do some homework. As a result, it slipped, more bad ratings appeared. The teachers began to scold me, saying that I was in the clouds. Now I understand that I should have been more careful then. Some things would be useful to me now, although there were those items that I still don’t see the benefit of in life.

I can say with confidence that there were wonderful teachers in my school who treated me very well and understood that I had a dream. I always performed at school holidays, and these days they understood that I was still doing something. From holiday to holiday, my results improved. Nevertheless, even those subjects that I didn’t need, I tried at least for a C grade, but I didn’t want to upset my beloved teachers, they were very wise people.

Do you remember the name of your first teacher?

Yes, her name was Valentina Vladimirovna. And the class teacher in the senior classes is Karina Arkadyevna. I was very pleased that the teachers with whom I studied treated me very well. They were indulgent towards me and, nevertheless, they managed to make sure that I learned and know quite a lot.

What were your behavioral scores?

In early childhood, I was a quiet child, and then something happened to me. Apparently, the transitional age has come earlier than necessary. In elementary school, I had a difficult behavior, I fought a lot with the boys, I defended the girls. It was the period of formation of my independence. I remember there was a very plump girl in our class. Everyone offended her, called her names, the boys mocked her. I took her side and started beating the boys. Sometimes in places where you can't hit. I broke one boy's nose until it bled. But it was self-defense. She thought that all girls were weak and defenseless beings. I proved to him that it wasn't. Once, however, I had a very serious conversation with my mothers, after which I realized that the affected areas should be different. There was a mini-meeting, mothers tried to explain to me that I am very cruel, and men are wonderful creatures that will give me a lot of happiness in the future. (Laughs) It was in the third grade. I did not quite understand what it was about, and why the attention of these women was concentrated on me.

Nyusha with children at a creative evening dedicated to the Last Bell and graduation party

- What was your favorite subject at school?

I was very fond of fine arts, and then drawing. She loved English, although she did not always find a common language with teachers - they were constantly changing with us. She loved work and physical education. Some subjects were loved but difficult. I liked physics, but I didn't understand everything about it. No matter how hard I tried to know this subject on the top five, it was difficult for me. Some things didn't fit in my mind.

What would you like to wish the graduates?

I would like to wish you that this wonderful holiday, this moment will forever remain in your memory as one of the most pleasant memories in life. Appreciate it. I wish your graduation a success and be fun and wonderful.
