Leaf paintings: the best ideas with photos.

08.05.2019

The use of natural materials in crafts and fine arts is gaining more and more popularity every year. Pressed floristry (oshibana) is an ancient Japanese technique for creating pictures from dried flowers. Using various dried plants, decorators create unique paintings and stories, and the whole process takes place without the use of any paints.

In order to create an image from dry flowers, no special tools are required. In fact, all working raw materials can be collected in a field, a nearby park, forest, or grown on a windowsill. Turning on the fantasy, the materials can be found anywhere: drying the peel of a banana or eggplant, opening tea bags with hibiscus or other tea, as well as drying the peel of a tangerine, cucumber, or removing it from an onion.

Leaves, flowers, fluff, peel and other materials are dried in a variety of ways, including standard press drying, vacuum drying and drying with irons. Usually, after treatment, the plants lose their natural color and turn pale or darken by several shades. Materials such as bananas turn dark brown after drying, so before starting work, you need to roughly imagine what result the author wants to achieve, and then select the plants of the desired color scheme.
After selecting materials, dried plants are attached to a fabric or paper canvas, forming a unique composition.
As an illustrative example, we recommend following the process of creating the painting "Lady with a Bouquet" performed using the technique of mistaken.

1. Getting started, in addition to dry materials, you need to prepare the following tools:
Colorless glue (PVA can be used);
Small scissors;
Tweezers;
sharp object;
Glue gun (for gluing large plants);
White cardboard (if necessary - color)

2. The following materials are needed to create a painting:
Dried rose petals or bluebells;
Violets petals;
Any yellow leaves;
Dry banana peel;
Dry corn stigmas (in other words, hair from corn);
Other decoration materials that will be on hand.

3. Before starting work, you should make a small sketch of the future picture on paper;

4. Apply a few rose petals to the finished sketch. We attach the leaves to each other so that the result is a skirt, at least slightly repeating the drawn silhouette;

5. We apply glue to the entire length of the skirt and glue the petals with tweezers;

6. Let's move on to the sleeves. We cut them out of the petals of a lighter shade and glue them in the same way. Previously, sleeves can be drawn on the petals, and then cut out. The result should be like this.

7. We make out the neckline. Cut out a bust of the required shape from the peel of a banana and glue it onto the drawing;

9. Cut out the hands from the yellow sheet and glue them to the lady;

10. We make out the face from small flower particles and use a gun to apply a drop of glue to the head area. We fix a bunch of corn hair, holding it with a sharp object for a while so that the hair sticks well. Immediately decorate with dry violet;

Here we are not talking about children's applications. We will do ADULT masterpieces - for interior decor. Although children's work will also be here, you will see.

So, how to make paintings from dry or succulent leaves, from flowers and herbs with your own hands.

Here you have DIFFERENT ways ... and DIFFERENT techniques for crafts from leaves in the form of paintings.

And each craft-picture is within the power even for beginners master craftsman.

Ah yes, let's dive into the creative impulse.

Volumetric picture of DRY LEAVES AND ACORNS

(the essence of the work is with your own hands)

Let's start with a bright artistic "canvas" - an autumn composition of leaves and acorns ...

The essence of the work- We take a sheet of plywood - and the leaves are glued overlapping each other ... We leave the edges of the plywood sheet clean - we will fill our frame there.

The picture from dry leaves turns out to be voluminous, so we will not place it under glass. And the frame comes separately without glass (just a frame made of wooden slats ... and just a piece of plywood (or fiberboard) the size of this frame.) And then we choose a method to your taste - with acrylic varnish, or with paraffin from candles. Even small children can participate in such a picture. This idea can be realized in circles of creativity.

Method with acrylic varnish. We buy acrylic varnish for crafts in the store. Pasted the leaves onto the canvases… applied a layer of varnish, let it dry… applied a layer again… dried it again… and another layer… etc. until it shines the way you want.

Paraffin method. Melt the candles in a pot. Each sheet was dipped and laid on canvas. They themselves will stick to each other with paraffin. A very quick and easy way to make a brilliant autumn leaf painting. Leaves sealed in paraffin may not lose their juiciness of form and color for years.

You can lay out such pictures by stacking the leaves in a chaotic manner. Or you can come up with a specific pattern. Harmony of smooth color transition.

And also you can try and make circular symmetrical patterns from leaves of different sizes and colors. They are called mandalas. Some other ancient peoples came up with such centric patterns, and it is believed that they have the magic of harmony and beauty. Mandalas are nice to look at. In our case, the magic of our mandalas will be made of light and pure material: natural foliage - therefore, such centric pictures will only heal and soothe, like nature itself.

Here, of course, painstaking work has been carried out - it is necessary so that the size of the leaves were the same in each of the circles. And to every circle differed from each other in size and shape of its repeating element.

Such paintings from leaves and dry herbs can be done exactly TO THE COLOR OF YOUR INTERIOR. To perfectly fit the picture in the room.

In bright orange tones - to the orange-yellow interior.

Or to an interior in dark chocolate-muted tones… another composition of autumn leaves will do.

Now, here's another great idea...

Pictures from STEAMING leaves.

Look at the photo below. Like? Me too)). Do you want to do it yourself - right? Then read on.

If the leaves are dried - without pinching them between the pages of the book - but simply put in a flat box (for example, from under sweets) and sprinkle with semolina ... then this is what happens ...

The groats will press the leaf just enough to keep him from squirming when dried - and then the sheet will dry, retaining its smooth, elegant shape.

Such leaves can be fixed behind glass in a frame ... and they will be beautiful and even inside the picture.

You say…“Yeah… but here in the photo you can see that the leaves are not clamped by the frame… but, as it were, hover inside the frame. How to do it?

Very simple. We need a frame with emptiness inside(search for sale or make your own ...

In order to make such a deep air frame-box, we need to ... take an ordinary frame with glass (slats and glazing) ... a thin sheet of plywood (or fiberboard) ... and four pieces of a bar (a plump lath ... the thicker the lath-beam, the more space will be inside frame)...

And now, having collected everything we need, we create the design of such a frame-box ...

We fill the bars on a sheet of plywood - i.e. we create the sides ... and on these sides - we attach our upper lined frame from above. And in total we get a frame with air inside - a frame-box.

How to make a sheet "hover" inside a frame-box ...

First, create a background- our plywood bottom of the frame ... either PAINT white ... or PASTE with white paper.

We apply leaves in the center ... and estimate with a glance where this leaf has the most central place. Mark this place with a pencil at the bottom of the frame.

Here we will glue our leaflet to this hemp (foam or wood). And it turns out that he as if hovering in the air and does not touch the wall of its frame.

And you can do it even better...

You can create the illusion of a leaf with a frame, lying on the sand…Here’s how to do it…

Before stick our sheet to the "stump" we can do SANDY BACKGROUND at the bottom of the frame. To do this, take a glue gun ... and apply uneven layer of glue on the bottom of the frame ... somewhere thicker, somewhere less ... And while the glue is not dry pour fine river sand on it. We let it dry and after drying we shake out excess sand from the frame. We look, and if there are unsanded places ... lubricate these bald spots again with glue and sand again.

If you don't have a glue gun (by the way, you can buy it at any hardware store for $ 7) ... then you can use ordinary pva glue - also apply a thicker layer and sand it with sand ... but it will take longer to dry ... and it’s better to take fine sand, pva glue will not hold coarse gravel.

As a result, you will get beautiful pictures - as if the leaves are lying on the sand ...

And also in such a frame and you can place not just CLEAN autumn leaves - but painted ones with a picture painted on them.

LEAVES-PICTURES

sheet painting technique.

You can lay out pictures with leaves, or you can draw pictures on the leaves themselves. Paint - oil or gouache.

If you work with gouache, then after completing the drawing, you need to sprinkle such a picture with hairspray (to fix the paint and give it a more juicy brightness, as in the photo below).

Such original paintings on the leaves can be given to relatives and friends, you can even date them for the New Year.

And so that the picture - a gift from the autumn leaf is preserved for a long time
- did not dry out, did not shrink, did not curl up, it is necessary to sealed in paraffin(or wax). To do this, melt the candles in a bowl and dip the leaves in paraffin by the tail. We take out and dry, hanging by the tail on the threads.

And if you are not an artist, then you can draw simple graphic patterns - the usual symmetry of geometric repeating shapes.

A simple master class

according to the patterns on the leaves.

And you know what, I'm probably going to fall in love with you now with the idea of paintings on autumn leaves. I will give you instructions, with which he will come understanding, and interest, desire and love will come for the company.

Let's start with the simplest crafts-paintings on the leaves. For example, such silhouette drawings... They have only a BACKGROUND and only a DARK SILHOUETTE. The background is simple. And the silhouette is simple. Therefore, we will start with such simple artistic tasks, so as not to scare you away, but to lure you.

We find a beautiful picture on the Internet. For example, this one. We print it out at a photo printing kiosk (I don’t think you have a color printer at home).

On a blank sheet of paper draw a maple leaf with a pencil, cut out the circled silhouette - we get a stencil with a hole in the shape of a maple leaf. And with this maple hole we apply a paper stencil to our picture in the place you like. For example like this.

And now you can redraw the picture from this paper sample to the maple leaf. First, the background is sky and water, then the black silhouette of a dolphin. You can also make a holey paper stencil for a dolphin - put it on the background and paint it with black paint.

According to this principle, it is possible to any episodes from any pictures. Even with the Mono Lisa. Elements with eyes look spectacular - the predatory look of a bird, or the mysterious look of a woman.

BIT PATTERNS look very nice drawn with a cotton swab. Here, too, first we make the background. Let's dry it. And then we draw a drawing with dots. The easiest one to get started. For example, the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower.

Paintings on leaves with a SMOOTH COLOR TRANSITION look very interesting.. Gradient overflow of paint shades (as in the picture below). Here's how to create such a delicate backdrop for your painting at home...

To make a background on a leaf with a SMOOTH FLOW effect one shade in another, you need to use not a brush, but a foam rubber sponge with small pores.

  • On the sponge we apply wide stripes of paint - yellow, yellow-orange mixed, orange.
  • We print a sponge on a sheet.
  • The first print will be light, so we reapply streaks of ink and repeat this procedure several times until the background is just right.

Then with a thin brush we apply black contours of the silhouette (for example, birds), and paint over the contours. From paper, you can cut out the silhouette of a bird and circle it. Or cut a stencil-hole of a bird - put it on a sheet and paint it over.

You can draw anything on maple leaves, the simplest and the most complex. Citrus slices or an illustration from the fairy tale The Little Prince.

Paintings PRINTS

from colored leaves.

Children, often in the classroom at school or in kindergarten, make prints of autumn leaves. Chalk or paints.

In the technique with a chalk print, we put white paper on top of an autumn leaf - and shade it all with chalk - from hatching, all the roughness of the sheet shows through on the paper.

And in the technique with paint - on the autumn leaf with a sponge (better than just a brush), we apply paint and, until it dries, quickly print the sheet with the painted side to the paper.

And it turns out very interesting when we do not make an orange sheet, on white paper, but the other way around, first we paint over the paper in orange with gouache, and then cover the sheet with white paint and create a white imprint of the sheet on an orange background. It turns out much more interesting and richer in color. Agree?

Such leaf prints can be collaged into an interesting picture.

Here is how in the photo below - the picture was initially divided into zones ... for each zone a different splash background was chosen (how to make a background from splashes in the same article I will tell below) ...

And then a stamp sheet is applied to each zone. It turns out the author's work of art

And you can make it even more beautiful ... if you apply the print of an autumn leaf not on a clean white sheet, but on a prepared one. In advance, we put on a sheet of typos of soap colored bubbles... and then when the prints are dry ... apply leaf prints to this bubble background. It is quite simple - we pour the usual soap solution into jars, add colored gouache - and inflate the bubble with a cocktail tube and, when it is already large, tilt it to the paper so that it bursts against it.

And there will be a feeling AS if these leaves float in puddles when it rains... have you ever seen how the rain raises bubbles in puddles and leaves float in this bubble puddle ... a picture of leaves and raindrops ... will be a real decoration of your room ...

Leaf paintings

back prints.

"Backprints" is the name I came up with for a technique that produces here is the result- stencil technology. (photo below).

The stencil technique is simple - very simple. Look here...

  1. We take a white sheet of paper ... put a leaf, a stalk of grass, or a twig on it.
  2. We put this sheet inside a large box (the more the better), now you will understand why ...
  3. We take a can of colored paint in our hand - and splash it over the paper with a leaf / stalk / flower lying on it. (Since all our work is done inside the box, the splashes do not scatter around the room and do not stain the furniture).

As a result, the entire leaf is painted in a juicy color ... and the place where there was a branch remains shaded.

And as the spray from the can fly out at different angles- we do not have clear contours of the plant ... but, as it were, a blurry shadow of the leaf ... which only adds to our picture from the leaves of artistic expressiveness.

Or you can use a simpler sprayer, from a toothbrush.

Use ordinary watercolor or gouache, and a regular toothbrush will serve as a sprinkler.

Pictures stamps - from succulent leaves.

Can you leave it on paper? leaf imprint- at all in a clumsy way. Rather, "hammer"

We take paper - put a sheet (juicy green, yellow, red) - cover with a paper napkin - and on top of the napkin we knock-pound with a hammer on the leaf. As a result, juice and pigment from the sheet are reprinted onto paper.

You can print each sheet separately ... laying a leaf after a leaf ... step by step inventing the plot of the composition.

And you can - immediately decompose all leaf and flower arrangement - in our future picture - cover with a napkin and thresh selflessly - until the plants are completely torn to pieces.

So that their bright souls remain imprinted forever - on your imperishable canvas.

FLAT picture

from dry herbs, leaves and flowers.

And of course - the standard version of the picture from natural materials. When herbs, leaves and flowers wither in flat view between the pages of books. And in such a pressed form they are laid out on the pictures.

You will find even more such FLAT flower paintings in my article. .

THE BEST WAY TO DRY leaves and herbs

(so as not to spoil the books).

We wrap the sheet on both sides with a paper napkin, then with thick paper, then with a cotton diaper and iron it.

The iron must not be very hot (otherwise the sheet will turn black). A little bit ironed, a little bit he warmed up like in the summer sun. Left some moisture in the napkin. Then they changed the napkin to a dry one - repeated.

And after that, you can also put it in a paper napkin between heavy books.

Marker paintings with leaves

(simple graphics).

You can simply draw any picture with a black marker - and the leaves will play only the role of individual elements introduced into your graphics.

Leaf paintings

in mosaic technique.

Mosaic technique is the most beautiful, in my opinion. Very gentle, airy, real lace made from natural materials. And it's so nice to lay out piece by piece - gently, precisely, achieving the right similarity.

First, put everything on dry paper - then take a picture of the final version. Remove everything from the sheet - carefully transferring each element to the box. And then, with glue in hand, lay out the mosaic-picture, referring to the photo-sample.

As a basis, you need to take a sheet of paper with the silhouette of the animal transferred to it. Put a sheet of paper on the computer screen with a picture and a weak line of a pencil to translate the contours of the animal. And then slowly fill all this space with pieces of leaves.

Deer, owl - quite complex work. Your very first job should be simple so as not to discourage. The simplest is a symmetrical animal. Same left and right. So you will simply start from the center - and at the same time lay out the same pieces of plants to the right and left of it.

As a material, you can use dry leaves, or leaves sealed in paraffin (dipped in melted candle wax).

Leaf paintings

in multi-layer technique.

Or you can make an application of leaves - in volumetric technique - when the texture of the sheet conveys the texture of the animal... like here in the picture of leaves with owls - when the texture and shape of the leaves conveys the texture and shape of feathers.

And also you can sell your work - so I found a very interesting site where the author sells - not the crafts themselves - but postcards depicting these works. And not cheap - but at a good price. A great example of a beautiful hobby and business in one. https://www.floraforager.com/

Leaves paintings with birds

Master Class

(based on children's coloring books).

You can create a picture that you paint with leaves - like an artist with brush strokes. Each leaf is a wide stroke of the artist's brush. For such a picture, you need to print an ordinary children's coloring book with a bird on a printer - in a large size.

And then decorate this picture, but not with pencils, but with leaves. Lay out each element of the coloring with leaves of a certain color. And you will get an exclusive leaf painting.

There are a lot of coloring pages with birds on Google - print it out and try to make a real masterpiece picture out of this ordinary children's coloring book from dry autumn leaves. You will be proud of your work.

You can make spring leaf paintings by drying whole sprigs of cherry blossoms. Flowers are clamped with a press, between paper napkins. If you want the flowers to be voluminous, then they can be promised by falling asleep with dry semolina, or sifted very dry river sand.

These are fairly simple leaf applications - for grade 1 of the school ... For such simple applications, I will write a separate article ... and then a link to it will work here.

You will find even more options for applications from autumn leaves in my article.

Paintings LANDSCAPE - from dry leaves and flowers.

These are the pictures of leaves, flower petals and herbs that makes a French artist... Below you will see her contacts… if you like such works… you can contact the author to order a similar masterpiece for yourself.

It is a pity that they cannot be enlarged in order to consider everything in great detail.

You can also lay out small landscape works from leaves. Which do not require so much effort and such costs of natural material.

Pictures PORTRAITS - from dry leaves.

And here are the compositions of autumn leaves that add up in the outline of a woman's head.

You can make a whole gallery of paintings from leaves in the theme "Very Woman". And put it in your living room to gasp for all the guests.

leaf painting

And we will end our article with love. It all starts with her. Let everything continue with her.

Two lovers. A picture that is pleasing to the eye in any era and in any civilization.

As you can see, there are a lot of ideas...

Create. Don't be lazy to be happy. Life is given - not for plans for the future.

Painting of flowers and leaves "wrong". Master class "Quiet pier"

The target audience: children from 12 years old, teachers, parents
Purpose: painting as a gift
The purpose of the master class: performance of decorative and applied work in the technique of "Planar floristry".
Tasks:
1. Teach:
Learn how to work with natural material (collection and drying of plants)
2. Develop:
Develop the emotional sphere, creative thinking, imagination and fantasy.
Develop fine motor skills.
3. Nurture:
To educate children in independence, creativity, aesthetic feelings.

Any plant material is good in itself, in its original form, so to speak. Nature presented in it all possible forms with symmetry and asymmetry, color and texture and even aromas. Therefore, the desire to bring this perfection into your home and somehow capture it in pictures is understandable.
Floristics is a special kind of creativity. It combines a reverent attitude to all living things, observation, the ability to see the beautiful, unique in every small blade of grass and the artistic perception of the world as a whole. Floral painting has such an arsenal of expressive means, so many techniques and creative techniques that, perhaps, no other type of fine art possesses.
Dried flower arrangements have been a traditional art form in Japan for hundreds of years. It received the name "oshibana" (oshibana) there, which in translation means "pressed flowers". In China and its neighboring countries, Thailand, Korea and others, pressing flowers has been a separate, very revered craft since ancient times.
Plants that are suitable for planar floristry can be harvested throughout the year, because each season has its own beauty and opportunities. Spring will bring dried leaves from wild plants. In summer, you can dry flowers, collect poplar fluff for compositions. Autumn is "red", which means colorful autumn leaves from trees like oak, maple, rowan and bright fruits. In winter, seeds are collected from ash and maple. As the main background, you can use all available means - beautiful paper, drawing paper, interesting pieces of wallpaper, everything will do.
Planar floristry This is not only painstaking work, but also a pleasant, exciting activity. To join this art, it is not necessary to be a professional artist. You just need to understand the texture of natural materials and learn how to combine them organically and thus become a co-author of nature itself.
Using the available tools and materials, you can create your own unique compositions that can decorate the interior or serve as a wonderful gift.

Rules for collecting and drying plants

To create interesting works, it is absolutely necessary that the natural material be as diverse as possible, different in texture, shape and color.
Collect plants that will later become "paints" from early spring to late autumn, even at the beginning of winter. It is necessary to remember a few rules for collecting and drying plants.
1. Plants can only be harvested in dry weather.
2. Dry the stems and leaves separately from the flowers. Compositae (marigolds, poppies, lilies) dry in parts, separating the petals. Daisies, violets, umbelliferous, cereals, veres dry whole.
3. Lay plants between sheets of paper so that they do not wrinkle. Press from above with a load, the weight of which can be from 4-5 to 10-15 kg. The air temperature is not lower than 22-24 degrees. In autumn and winter, it is necessary to dry the plants near heated batteries. After a day, check the quality of drying plants, if necessary, change the paper - and so on until the plants are completely dry for 2-3 weeks.
4. No need to throw away plants that have lost their natural look. The whole palette of pastel shades can come in handy in the work.

Master Class

To make an application from dried plants, you will need the following tools and materials:
- scissors (large and manicure);
- tweezers;
- medium soft pencil;
- material for the base (dense cardboard);
- material for the design of the picture (frame with glass, 2-3 mm thick);
- PVA glue;
- brushes or thin sticks for glue;
- plants dried under pressure (corncob wrappers, leaves of viburnum, poplar, burdock, maple, strawberries, grapes, lilacs, rose petals, twigs of wormwood, birch, birch bark, cattail).

Attention! All plants are interchangeable, so if the listed plants are not at hand, they can be replaced with similar ones in color and texture.
Before starting work, with light strokes, we make a sketch on thick cardboard with minimal elaboration, given the possibility of improvising in the process. We outline the contours of the image, paying special attention to the main lines and forms - the horizon, the foreground.

We depict the sky with birch bark of different shades (from white to beige). To do this, we use the inner and outer parts of the birch bark. We try to combine colors so that they smoothly blend into each other, we achieve the effect of cloud blur. We generously coat the inside of the birch bark with glue and glue it to the base according to the outlined contours. For more thorough gluing after each stage, it is necessary to put the work under the press for a while.

Overlay the primary layer to represent the surface of the water. We use the inner part of the bark of a slightly rotten birch. It already has the colors and shades necessary for the image of ripples on the water.

We depict the coast in the foreground. We use a set of leaves of green shades (from light to dark) of various plants.

We depict the forest in the background. To get a picturesque background for the next stage of work, we use leaves of yellow and green flowers. We arrange them horizontally.

We return to a more detailed study of the surface of the water. We create a solar path. This is the lightest part, so we lay it out using the outside of the white birch bark. For the darkened parts of the water, birch bark of dark shades is needed. The inner layer of rotten bark is perfect for this.

We turn to a more thorough study of the forest in the background. To depict numerous aerial planes and various types of trees, we will use dark poplar leaves; grapes, lilacs, yellow leaves of autumn birches, red maple leaves. For the image of a coniferous forest, different types of wormwood (white and green) are suitable. All leaves are glued vertically.

We start working on the boat, which is located in the background. First, draw it on paper, cut it out and glue it a little to the left of the middle.

For the image of the boat, we use dry autumn cattail leaves. Let's start with the body. The boat is made of wood, so you need to depict it in action. On the outside of the boat lay out boards of gray-brown leaves, placing them horizontally. The boards on the inside of the boat are in the shade, so we use dark brown leaves. Glue light stripes around the entire perimeter of the upper part of the boat to reflect the thickness of the wooden base. In the inside of the boat, it is also necessary to depict three boards for sitting: stern, rowing and bow. To do this, we use beige leaves, placing them perpendicularly.

On the shore, in the foreground, we have three birches from the outer layer of white birch bark. We cut out the desired shape of the trunk with scissors and glue it according to the composition.

We are working on the structure of the tree bark. Old trees have many irregularities, various cracks, tubercles, which, of course, should not be left without attention. We spread them with birch bark of different shades. We put darker pieces of birch bark on the shady side of the trunks. We mark dark dashes and spots on the bark of the tree, trying to place them as randomly as possible.

Let's move on to the crown. When depicting trees, we must take into account the anatomical structure and the shape of the branches characteristic of birches. We form the crown from poplar and birch leaves by picking with hands. On the crown of the tree we add thin hanging branches. At the same time we depict birch trees in the background. We use the same set of leaves. We stick to the same technique.

We are working on the second boat, using the same techniques, materials and techniques for doing work as on the first one. We depict the shadow from the boat on the surface of the water, which is covered with light ripples. To emphasize this, the material used is uneven and broken. For this effect, the torn birch bark of the inner part of the dark bark is used, and the outer part, which is lighter, is used to depict highlights.

Let's move on to a more thorough study of the details of the foreground. At the base of the tree and next to the boat we have a bush. We convey the density of the herbaceous cover with plants of different shapes and textures: white sweet clover, common oregano, dandelion, cereal plants. We lay out small islands from climbing decorative indoor plants in the background.
Now everything fell into place, and the composition can be considered complete.

The finished picture is inserted into a frame under glass.

Close-up of boats.

Close-up of the crown of birches.

Instruction

The main task is to collect leaves, flowers, twigs and herbs. This material is collected in spring, summer and autumn. You can do this everywhere - in the yards, in the front gardens, you do not need to limit yourself to the field and forest.

Harvested plants must be dried. The best option for this is old magazines or reference books, but their paper should not be glossy, but only porous and soft. The book must be well dried. The collected material is placed between the sheets, while at least six sheets must be left between the bookmarks. Something heavy like a brick or iron is placed on a closed magazine or book.

When the natural material is ready, you can proceed to the design of the picture. Any postcard, picture or photograph depicting flowers or a landscape is selected for the sample. You can create a sketch of the future picture and yourself. In any case, the outline should be.

On the cardboard are all the details of the composition as shown in the photo or postcard. Start work from the background. First, large leaves are superimposed, and then flowers and herbs. The composition is drawn up completely, and after that each detail is very carefully separated from the picture, smeared with glue and glued.

A passe-partout is glued onto the cardboard of the finished composition.

Helpful advice

Dried flower paintings are a wonderful and stylish gift for any celebration. The composition will last for many years, unlike a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Advice 2: What applications can be made from autumn leaves

Creating applications develops imaginative thinking, creativity and fine motor skills in children. The natural elements that are used to create the paintings are simply collected in the park on a walk. Armfuls of colorful autumn leaves can be dried for future use, or they can be used fresh.

Decorative tree made from autumn leaves

The original application can be made from small autumn leaves. If you show diligence and accuracy when making this picture, it can serve as an unusual decorative decoration for the room.

Choose a photo frame that matches the style of your interior. Can be used with or without glass. According to the size of the substrate, cut out the base from textured paper and glue it. Instead of paper, linen fabric will also look interesting. It is advisable to use light shades for the base, so that later the leaves do not get lost on a dark background.

On thick white or light brown paper, draw a tree trunk with several curved branches of such a size that the cut-out blank can be placed in a frame. Glue the tree to the prepared background.

The contour of the tree can be drawn with paints directly on the background glued to the substrate.

Glue the dried small leaves from the shrubs on the branches of the paper tree. Use any transparent glue. To make the composition last longer, you can carefully cover the dried leaves with acrylic varnish using a soft brush.

Fresh leaf applications

Spread the collected autumn leaves on the table with the child. Ask him to compose a picture from them. It can be an animal figurine or an insect. To make a butterfly, you can mirror two large leaves and two small ones, then you get wings. Build the body from a stick. For a fish, you will need one round or oblong sheet, to which attach two narrow fin sheets on top, and one on the bottom. Make a fish tail from two or three more narrow leaves.

Choose a suitable background for the appliqué, such as colored cardboard or velvet paper. Stick the leaves on the base in order of priority. Then put a blank sheet on the picture and cover with a pile of books on top. Leave for a couple of days. This will even out the glued leaves.

A quick picture can be made even from one sheet. Glue it to white writing paper. Draw the remaining parts of the fictitious figure with a felt-tip pen.

Application of dry autumn leaves

Gathering on the seashore is a favorite pastime for children. And at the end of the rest, these “trophies” lie in some distant closet. You can decorate a photo frame with shells or make them panel, which will decorate the house and will remind you of a happy vacation.

You will need

  • - flat board, chipboard or plywood;
  • - shells;
  • - PVA glue;
  • - sandpaper;
  • - jigsaw;
  • - stain.

Instruction

Sketch panel from shells. It is not necessary to draw by hand, you can find a suitable digital image or scan a postcard. Outline the image in Adobe Photoshop. When choosing a drawing, pay attention to the fact that there should be as few small details on it as possible, because the shells themselves are a very beautiful material. In addition, they have their own specific texture, which must be taken into account when making a sketch. Print the image, pre-fitting it to size.

Prepare the base. Take a fairly thick board or plywood. For example, a wooden cutting board works well. The hole for the carnation in it can be removed by gluing a wooden plug there. Treat an ordinary board with sandpaper so that the surface is even. If the shells remain light, it is better to make the background darker for contrast. To do this, use the dark color of the stain. If necessary, the stain can be replaced with a dark solution of potassium permanganate, which gives shades from deep red-brown to light brown.

Draw the drawing on the board. To do this, use carbon paper. You can skip the sketching step by trying to compose a composition on the board right away.

If the shells need to be painted, do so before sticking them on the board. For painting shells You can use bright acrylic paints. Choose a color depending on the nature of the image.

Helpful advice

It is better to stick material such as shells with PVA glue, although any other can be used, for example, hot glue or universal glue. You can also add panels with other materials, except for shells. For example, beads, beads, cereals or seeds of exotic plants, from which spots on the petals or stamens of flowers can be made.

Collages are created in three styles: vegetative, decorative and landscape. The first style is aimed at conveying the beauty of plants. It is important to point out the structure of the stems and blades of grass, the elegance of the petals, the color scheme, and the patterns of veins.

Decorative style does not limit the imagination of the master. Intricate shapes, rich colors and unique ways of presenting the material are appropriate. To enhance the artistic effect, such paintings are placed in frames.

Landscape style carries the beauty of nature. With it, the sea, sunset, seasons, mountains and forests are transmitted.
