Who is David Copperfield?

The David Copperfield Show in Las Vegas has been a huge success for many years. One of the pillars of modern magic is an extraordinary person, not only on stage, but also in life. Here are just a few facts. Born in 1956 as David Kotkin (of Russian ancestry), at the age of 12 he became the youngest ever member of the Society of American Magicians. In 1983, David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty "disappear" on live television. Programs with his participation won Emmy awards for the best TV programs of the year in the USA 21 (!!!) times. Big show on Broadway "Dreams and Nightmares" (Dreams and Nightmares), created by David Copperfield together with Francis Coppola, broke all box office records.

All we expect from Vegas is spectacle! We are not players, so we really hope that there will be bread left :) In this post, we will briefly talk about our plans in Vegas and a list of free and not so planned shows that Las Vegas is so famous for. Go!

Vegas is one of the main "strongholds" of our trip, and the first on the list in our route. Here we will stay for 2 days. To be precise, we will arrive in Vegas on June 4th at about 21.00, and depart on the morning of June 7th, i.e. 2 days and 2.5 pm. I counted the first evening as a half, although it can be completely deleted from the schedule ... It is unlikely that after 20 hours on the road (10 hours Moscow-New York + 5 hours of waiting + 5.5 hours flight to Vegas) we will be drawn to any adventures . Except to see the surroundings of the hotel and stare at the Bellagio fountain show, since our hotel is very close.

In general, it must be said that we are flying across the ocean for the first time and such a long journey plus the time difference makes it almost pointless to make any plans for the first couple of days. But nevertheless, let's hope for the best and still try to plan at least something, otherwise it may turn out like on our trip to Prague: put everything off until the last moment and in the end just wandered around the city. Although there is something in this too ... :)

But back to Vegas. I did a little digging on the net, first of all on the subject of free shows in Las Vegas, and made for myself a small list of what I would like to see:

  • Fountain show at the Bellagio Hotel (15.00 - 19.00 every hour, then until midnight every 15 minutes)
  • Volcano at Mirage Hotel (18.00 - 23.00)
  • Replica of Venice in miniature, hotel "Venice" (24 hours, gondolas for a fee)
  • Aquarium at the Silverton Hotel (24 hours, fish fed at 13.30 and 16.30)
  • Show of Pirates near the hotel "Treasure Island" (17.30, 19.00, 20.30, 22.00)
  • MGM World and Lion Enclosure, MGM Hotel (9.00 - 12.00)
  • Concert venue near Flamingo Hotel, daily concerts

This is not the most complete list, of course, I chose a few shows to my taste. Whole list of free las vegas shows look here on this bourgeois site. I made a small map of the Las Vegas show so you have some idea of what is roughly where.

Of the paid shows, we plan to go to a Cirque du Soleil show called "O", very impressive reviews. Not cheap, but they say this show is worth the money. Let's see...

Well, the last point can be called the most expensive and grandiose event - a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon.

And now it's time to admit to yourself, and at the same time tell you that in one fell swoop, or rather two events, we cover the entire budget planned for excursions and entertainment :) It should be noted that I assumed such an outcome at the stage of the birth of the idea of a helicopter tour . Initially, when our expenses were planned, we were going to the Canyon in a rented car, but then we decided to "buzz, so buzz" :) So I'll go and tweak our calculation a little. It's Vegas, baby, there's nothing you can do...

Good evening everyone! As you know, the city is not cheap. But not everyone knows that there are many places in it where you can watch exciting shows and appreciate impressive exhibitions without paying a dime for it. What a twist! In this way, hotels attract visitors, pleasing to the eye and leaving unforgettable moments in memory. Most of these locations are located directly on, and one more is in Downtown, on. For those who do not want to stop there, the information about paid shows and museums at the end of the article will come in handy.

The most famous sight in Las Vegas, which you definitely need to see with your own eyes. The best time for this is the dark time of the day, but during the day the fountains look impressive. The essence of this show is a combination of opera music and water jets “dancing” under it. Looking at what was happening, I felt goosebumps running along my skin in the rhythm of a waltz.

  • Where: at the hotel.
  • When: the show lasts only 5 minutes, and takes place every hour from morning to night; the last one is at 23:55.

2. Flower garden at the Bellagio Conservatory. Immediately after the fountain show, I advise you to look into the stunningly beautiful garden of tens of thousands of fresh flowers, which is located in the same hotel. The theme of the garden is updated 5 times a year according to the season - Chinese New Year, spring, summer, autumn and winter. For example, in the spring, as many as 82,830 flowers are displayed in the garden. This is a great place for photos and a little break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

  • Where: at the hotel.
  • When: The garden is open every day around the clock, but several times a year it is closed for a few days for a shift (May 15-19, September 11-15, November 26-30).

Deciding to compete with Bellagio, the Mirage hotel came up with its own "chip" and installed a makeshift volcano that "erupts" for tourists several times during the day. We missed this show, completely forgetting about it, so I can’t rate it. If you manage to watch it, share your impressions in the comments.

  • Where: at the Mirage Hotel.
  • When: starts at 20:00 and 21:00, Fri-Sat at 22:00.

For children and adults, circus performances are organized every 30-45 minutes at the hotel in a specially installed mini-arena. They change throughout the day - they can be acrobats, fakirs, magicians, strongmen, trapeze walkers and other artists from different countries, including even Russia. We got on cyclists.

  • Where: in the hotel arena.
  • When: Starts at 11:15, last show at 22:45, Fri-Sat at 23:45. Duration: 15-20 minutes.

Caesar's Palace invites us to plunge into the world of the kingdom of Atlantis. Inside the hotel's shopping center, there is a fountain with statues that "come to life" during the performance. They begin to move to the music, delighting visitors.

  • Where: At the end of The Forum Shops at the hotel. It will be easier to enter not through the main entrance of the hotel, but through a separate extension, which will be a little to the right (see photo).
  • When: The show is 5 minutes long and runs every hour from 11:00-23:00, Fri-Sat until 00:00.

6. Live flamingos and colored fish in the garden of the Flamingo Hotel. Another pleasant way to take a break from the bustling city is to relax at the artificial waterfall and watch the colorful fish in the garden of the Flamingo Hotel. The garden is small, but quite interesting. Parrots, real pink flamingos and turtles in the pond - isn't it lovely?

  • Where: hotel backyard
  • When: I do not know the exact hours of operation, but the garden is open from early morning until late evening.

7. Light show Fremont Street Experience and artist performances on Fremont Street. In Downtown Las Vegas on Fremont Street, LG Electronics installed a giant screen 460 meters long. The screen fits more than 12 million LED displays, which are controlled by 10 computers at once. Several times a day, he shows videos accompanied by music by DJ Tiesto, The Doors and others. This spectacle is unique and one of a kind, it attracts more than 17 million tourists every year. At the same time, absolutely free.

  • Where: .
  • When: The show is less than 10 minutes long and runs every hour daily at 20:00, 21:00, 22:00, 23:00 and 00:00, Fri-Sat still at 01:00.

In addition, during the day and into the night on Fremont you can meet a variety of street performers - from dressed up in costumes of "living statues" to mimes, dancers, magicians and artists. There is a stage where singers and bands perform in the evenings (to the left of the 4 Queens Hotel).

  • The hotel used to host a grandiose Pirate show. We really hoped to get to it, but with regret we found that it has not existed for a couple of years. According to reviews, the show was impressive - it showed the scene of the capture of the ship by pirates, but it turned out to be too expensive for the hotel.

8. Free entertainment for hotel guests. Some Strip hotels offer free entertainment for their guests. If you are not, then you can still use the services by simply paying for the ticket. For example, the hotel is famous for its mini-roller coasters.

On the roof of the hotel there is an observation platform from which the whole city is visible.

9. About paid museums, shows and exhibitions. In addition to freebies, Las Vegas offers its guests paid museums, shows and exhibitions. I will list the brightest of them.

  • Museum of Neon Signs (Neon Museum)- here is a collection of old neon signs of Vegas hotels. Hotels are periodically demolished, but their colorful banners remain. A daytime visit is possible, but in the evening it will be more interesting - the signs light up in the dark. The museum is located on the Strip. What I did not like: you need to book tickets in advance on the site; moreover, if for some reason you do not have time to get to the right time, as happened with us, the tickets disappear. As I did not beg on the phone, explaining a good reason, I had to say goodbye to the bucks that had flown into the museum's piggy bank.
  • Exhibition of artifacts from the liner Titanic (Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition)– the hotel contains the rarest exhibits from the famous Titanic liner. The authors of the exhibition recreated "the same staircase" from the first class hall. You can take pictures on it for an additional fee.
  • The Mob Museum- its full name: "The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement" (The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement), which speaks for itself. This is a huge area with interactive exhibits. Located in Downtown.
  • Zak Bagans' The Haunted Museum- a novelty from the creator of the show "Ghost Adventures". The museum is dedicated to everything paranormal. Here you will find old dolls and various items that may even have been inhabited by someone's souls.

  • As for paid shows, there are more than enough of them. The brightest and most famous shows in Las Vegas are productions Cirque du Soleil: O, Ka, Zumanity, Le Reve and others. I myself have not yet visited a single one, but, judging by the reviews, they are distinguished by their special entertainment and professionalism of the organization. Tickets will cost you an average of $100; shows are held at various hotels in the Strip.
  • The hotel is famous for David Copperfield's performances, the Medieval Tournament of Kings. The illusionist Chris Angel's show "Believe" is popular. All you have to do is choose your favorite show and enjoy. As I said, there is no boring place in Las Vegas.

In Las Vegas, you can spend thousands of dollars in one evening - the city exists for this. And you can limit yourself to paying only for food and a hotel. Because you can see a lot in Las Vegas - both for a fee and for free.

The secret of Las Vegas' attractiveness is not only in concerts of stars, but in the fact that there is entertainment for every taste, from performances by magicians and tiger tamers to grandiose shows and water extravaganzas with the participation of international groups of performers.

There are no such shows anywhere in the world, primarily because only in Las Vegas huge amounts of money are invested in entertainment for tourists.

The merit of the gangster-dandy Bugsy is that he was the first to guess that the performances of famous singers and musicians in the casino will bring additional income and help lure customers from competitors. The idea was tested during the opening ceremony of the Flamingo Hotel in 1946, where a whole group of famous artists and Hollywood stars performed.

Since then, the competition between Las Vegas hotels for the most grandiose concerts and shows has not stopped for a single day.

The cost of different Las Vegas shows is different. It all depends on the popularity and level of the show. Such performances help to better understand the spirit of Las Vegas, and it is necessary to watch at least one such show. For example, the Cirque du Soleil water show and the like are technically complex programs and a touring option is most likely not possible. Shows are held in concert halls specially equipped for these programs. In a word, if you have already found a financial opportunity to go to the USA, do not be stingy ... By the way, the cheapest tickets for the show "O" and LE RÊVE are sold for wet places, that is, those places where water gets during the performance.

As for the free shows in Las Vegas, each hotel has a pocket guide that you should carefully study for the times and places of the free shows. Everything is written there - you just need to spend a little time on it and then you will have a complete picture. I advise you to see the Dancing Fountains (Bellagio), a volcanic eruption (somewhere in the same place). Pirate show - looks promising (Treasure Island).

Today, there are so many entertainments in Las Vegas that it is increasingly difficult to find time to play in the casino. It is quite difficult to sort out all this diversity on your own, as well as to correctly combine a visit to a show or concert with the rest of the elements of your stay in Las Vegas. We are always happy to help you!

Las Vegas is known not only for its casinos, but also for the fact that it is here that you can see the most grandiose, technically complex and spectacular shows in the world, as well as concerts of pop and rock stars and fights of the best boxers.

Las Vegas receives more tourists a year than the whole of France, and most of them go there with the intention of attending one or even several shows and concerts. As a result, tickets to popular shows and, most importantly, good seats are almost always a problem, especially if you start doing this on arrival, at the last minute. Therefore, we always recommend to our customers choose in advance and buy online tickets for the best shows, musicals and concerts in Las Vegas.

WARNING: THIS IS IMPORTANT!

  • Tickets for shows, musicals and "adults only" shows can be purchased, often even at a discount, from the website of the official ticket distributor (links below) and get them directly at the ticket office of the show at any time, but no later than one hour before the start of the show.
  • It is quite difficult to buy tickets, especially for good seats, for concerts of pop and rock stars in Las Vegas. Therefore, for this type of tickets, below we offer links to the websites of ticket brokers, who always have tickets. The legend beloved by tourists that the Strip was "invented" by Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky's friend and colleague, gangster dandy Bugsy Siegel, aka Benjamin Siegelbaum, is just a legend. Hotels El Rancho And "Last Frontier" opened on the Strip a few years before Hollywood publisher Billy Wilkerson "invited" Bugsy to be a partner in building a hotel Flamingos.

The real merit of Bugsy is that he was the first to guess that the performances of famous singers and musicians in the casino will bring additional income and help lure customers from competitors. The idea was tested during the opening ceremony of the hotel Flamingos in 1946, a whole group of famous artists and Hollywood stars performed at it.

Since then, the "war" between hotels in Las Vegas for the most grandiose concerts and shows, to the delight of millions of tourists, does not stop for a single day. Hotels do not skimp, and the most famous performers, from the legendary Elvis Presley (Elvis Presley) and Frank Sinatra (Frank Sinatra) to the modern idols of millions - Madonnas (madonna), Elton John (Elton John), Lady Gaga (Lady Gaga), Rihanna (Rihanna), Adele (Adele), Celine Dion (Celin Dion), Pink (Pink), Jennifer Lopez (Jennifer Lopez), Pitbull (Pitbull), as well as popular rock bands "Muza" (Muse), "Hu" (The Who), "Fish" (Phish), Metallica (Metallica) and many other world show business stars perform in Las Vegas with great pleasure.

But the secret of the attractiveness of Las Vegas is not only in concerts of stars, but in the fact that there is entertainment for every taste, from performances by magicians and tiger tamers to grandiose shows and water extravaganzas with the participation of international groups of performers. The most fashionable choreographers, musicians, designers take part in staging such shows, and engineers specially create unique hall designs, multi-level pools, etc. There are no such shows anywhere in the world, primarily because only in Las Vegas such funds are invested in entertainment for tourists. An example is the magnificent show "Cirque du Soleil" ("Cirque du Soleil") "Oh", "KA", "Love", "Zumanity", "Mystere", staging, costumes, construction and equipment of special halls for which cost hundreds (!!!) millions of dollars!

Broadway musicals can be seen not only in New York, but also in Las Vegas. Popular musicals such as Jersey Boys are or have already been staged on the Strip. (Jersey Boys), "Menopause" (menopause), "Rock forever" (Rock of Ages), "The Lion King" (The Lion King), "Phantom of the Opera" (Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular) and others. The power and creativity of the people involved in entertaining tourists in Las Vegas cannot be underestimated. It is possible that someday new musicals will be staged in Las Vegas, and they will be brought to Broadway on tour ...

Speaking about the various entertainments in Las Vegas, one cannot fail to mention the shows "for adults", which are also a great many. And we are not talking about a banal striptease in a smoky hall - no! These are colorful erotic shows, for example, Zumanity Cirque du Soleil. Some shows are designed specifically for a female audience.

Today, there are so many entertainments in Las Vegas that it is increasingly difficult to find time to play in the casino. It is rather difficult to sort out all this diversity on your own, as well as to correctly combine a visit to a show or concert with the rest of the elements of your stay in Las Vegas... We are always happy to help you!
