“Everything starts with love...” - these words from a wonderful poem became not only the title, but also the leitmotif of the one-man show. The works of different authors, not only of different genres, but also of different eras and generations, are organically woven into a single whole in the performance, revealing not only the multifaceted talent of Maxim Averin as an actor, but also his personal attitude to what happens in life, and on the stage.
From Pasternak's "Interlacing of Hands .." to "Dark Night" by Mark Bernes, from the chopped lines of Vladimir Mayakovsky's poems to the heartfelt lyrics of Vladimir Vysotsky - all this is passed through the prism of the author's perception of Maxim as a director and author of the play.
And another very important point is the amazing energy of the actor, which is instantly transmitted to the audience. Two hours fly by unnoticed, in one breath - like a conversation with an intelligent, charming and interesting person who was very lucky to find and meet in life.

- You will soon be 40 years old. Are you afraid of age?

- If earlier I saw a face in the mirror that did not correspond to my worldview, now everything works for me: there are roles for my face.
At the age of 20, I had an imbalance: my soul demanded meaningful and big roles, but my face did not hold out. And now it all fits. I like the wrinkles that have appeared on my face. This is an additional tool in my work.

And before the performance, two angels came to my office entrance. Ksyushenka and Sashenka. Their mother said that the girls follow my work and came with gifts and flowers. In return, they wanted my autograph, which they asked my mother for her birthday. The young ladies were very well-mannered, there were no "uncle Maxim", "roll me on the neck." On the contrary, they had several creative questions. They presented me with bouquets of chrysanthemums and drawings of their own composition. "Then they left, and I still stood on my one and a half legs .."
And at that moment I was happy! I understood that these kids, the most difficult, demanding viewer, it is impossible to deceive him. He looks at you with his serious eyes, there is still no oppression and circumstances of life.
And they believe in you, like in Santa Claus. And that means something big and fabulous.
And it was worth living and working!

Averin Maxim Viktorovich was born in Moscow, his mother was a simple dressmaker all her life and was in no way connected with cinema. My father worked at Mosfilm: first he edited films, and then he was a set designer. Maxim's father always dreamed of becoming an artist, but his dream was destined to be realized by his son.

When the boy was barely six years old, he first appeared on television. Father took Maxim to the set in Makhachkala, where the film "The Adventures of Count Nevzorov" was filmed. He was given a cameo role, and already at the age of nine, the young artist first got into the Theater of Miniatures and received one of the main roles in the play Brandenburg Gate. In addition to the theater, Averin worked in the studio at the Cinema House.

At school, Maxim was a humanist, was interested in literature, and once even refused to write a test in mathematics, explaining that he would not need this subject at the theater school. In the ninth grade, the guy began to choose an educational institution for himself. At first he tried to enter VGIK, but when the selection committee asked to show his teeth, he stated: “ I am not a horse". Of course, no one expected such rudeness from an applicant, and Averin failed the exam miserably.

Further, the future heartthrob and the favorite of the public tried his strength in Sliver, but everything went wrong there, only the Shchukin School was to his liking. True, the self-confident guy managed to enter only on the second attempt. During his studies, Averin was the favorite of most teachers, they enthusiastically watched his success, in 1997 he brilliantly defended his diploma and graduated.

On a hot day, there were few people in the restaurant located on the roof of a building on Prospekt Mira, one of the most beautiful districts of Moscow. I took a strategic position at a table in the corner - to see the incoming - and got ready to figure out the artist Averin, whom I saw only in photographs. But not now, but in half an hour, because artists are bohemian people, and they are often late. Exactly at two, a tall, tanned handsome man in a white shirt with a white scarf entered the restaurant - and from the way the waitresses trembled and smiled, how the few visitors raised their heads, it became clear that there was no need to figure out anyone. Because Maxim Averin is such a person around whom space inevitably twists and sparks. I decided to find out how he does it on the eve of his November tour with the solo performance “Everything starts with love. Continuation".

But only after saying hello, he immediately began to talk with enthusiasm about his new project:

- With Katya Rozhdestvenskaya, whose son opened this restaurant, we are currently filming a documentary about Robert Rozhdestvensky. I hope that it will work out that we will find money, because the poet is amazing, not fully disclosed. In the nineties, he was forgotten, then the country stopped reading, or rather, it began to read empty to distract. And now there is a huge interest in it again. In part, I have something to do with this, because I read his poems at my performances. He is so poignant - despite our idea of ​​him as a huge, revolutionary, party poet who composed "We are an echo ..." In this sense, he is like Mayakovsky.

- I read that you dream of playing Mayakovsky, is that true?

- Certainly. His personality is very interesting to me. I read his poems in my play. And he is a unique poet, how he worked with the word! Some works now sound completely different, and with humor everything was fine with him. I am now reading a book by Dmitry Bykov about Mayakovsky, discovering new facets of personality. I think that Lilya did a lot in Mayakovsky’s biography - she wanted to immortalize him so much in order to receive royalties, which made him a “revolutionary poet”.

- Very many. This is David Samoilov, and, of course, Rozhdestvensky. Vysotsky, Yevtushenko, Vertinsky. Now I can’t even say for sure what else will happen - after all, I myself am a director and I have a huge amount of material, so I’m still feeling for what will happen later.

- Maxim, you are bringing a continuation of the performance that was shown in Israel last year. You are unique. After all, it would be possible to come and just meet with the audience, and they would be happy to come to see you, ask questions, listen to stories from the shooting, songs. And poetry is such a risky thing today, and not everyone is ready to perceive it.

“Poetry gives air to a person. There comes a time when you want to stop and start all over again. One could, of course, answer notes, read something. But if there is a story that catches, then the viewer accepts it. I have no scenery in the play, nothing. One artist, and this is my fundamental decision. Now everything is possible in the theater - 3D, 4D, everything flies, soars, only there is no person. I want to stop a person, sit down and talk about where he runs, how he lives. This is where the poetry of wonderful authors helps me. Plus the monologues I wrote myself.

- After all, you still have a separate story with Pushkin - a completely unexpected twist.

- Yes, I was offered to read "The Snowstorm" with music by Sviridov in the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow. And before that there was The Queen of Spades and Tchaikovsky's music. I jumped into it with joy. Now they also gave me the book “Pushkin's Last Year”, a rare edition, where the correspondence is unusually interesting.

- As an artist, biographies are very interesting to me. This is my nature, I study people's personalities. And in general I read several things at once, I carry a suitcase of books with me everywhere. Sometimes I go into the office, look at the shelves and say to myself - someday I will read all this!

- If we talk about personalities, who would you like to play, with whom do you feel kinship?

- Ten years ago, when I was young and in a different shape, I saw a program about the wonderful ballet dancer Alexander Godunov. And at the end of the film there was this phrase: in the past, he had a bright future. I just didn't exist at that moment! So it shocked. And so I thought - what an interesting fate he has, how to play him. I approached the producers with this idea. Of course, I was then young, thin, with hair, and then I could play. And now it won't work anymore.
I had a period when I wondered why such a brilliant writer as Saltykov-Shchedrin was not filmed. It's all about today's life.

- Maxim, such a film will be banned immediately, in the same place, every phrase is extremism on the topic of today's Russia.

- Thank God, it means that there is an opportunity to make the viewer think. Notice how many primitives are in the cinema, on television. I sometimes hear from partners: "Yes, what is there to play, there are no words." So how do I work with them? Charlie Chaplin never said a word in the cinema, and it is impossible to break away from City Lights. In addition, I believe that plasticity is important for a dramatic artist. Make a person see your inner dance, he will not tear himself away from you. And if you just say some words, it turns out horror - about a life that neither I nor the audience have seen.

- Tell me why? In Russia, there is a magnificent theater school, such a competition for institutes, they study like crazy for 11 hours a day. And then you watch television series or comedies - and you become embarrassed for their helplessness.

— Because graduating from an institute is not yet learning a profession. When I graduated from the theater institute twenty years ago, I thought - well, that's it, now everyone will go crazy, I appeared. But this did not happen. The Institute provides the most powerful alphabet - but this does not mean that you can do everything. Then you come to the theater, where there are no longer twenty people and you are not a talented pet. There are 150 artists, each of which has the right to success. And they beat you. In this sense, I consider the system of "repertory" theater to be outdated. An artist cannot wait five years for the next role. The artist needs daily training, which means going on stage.

I teach young artists, and I always tell them: an artist should not sit and wait. In order not to lose the most important thing, you need to work. There was a minute - watch a good movie, read a book. And it is very easy to rest against the glass, and it will accept you instantly. Before my eyes there were the most talented people who surrounded themselves with those who constantly said: "What a talented you are, you are a genius, a genius." It's impossible to listen! When they begin to praise me, I always keep a fig in my pocket. Seriously. It seems to me - what if it disappears? Where will all these people who are now talking about talent be? So the talent must be constantly developed.

By the way, about the chance of success. Do I understand your story correctly: after graduation, you worked at the Satyricon Theater for quite some time. And there it didn’t come to you right away, but success came in the production of Macbeth. You were recognized by the Moscow theater audience. And only when you played on television in the series, the whole country learned and fell in love, from housewives to film critics. But it is known at the same time that success does not happen just because you were shown on television.

- I turned the attitude towards the series. And the theater in general is an elitist art, which is not suitable for everyone. It's still a conditional world. Someone does not understand these proposed rules of the game, while the other, on the contrary, goes there, bypassing some kind of unnaturalness - because he needs it like air. And the theater educates me as an actor. Cinema is an intimate art, the art of waiting. Many artists cannot act in films, because they have to wait, wait - and then suddenly give out the right emotion.

“Honestly, I don’t understand how this is possible.

- I can't live without it. The day before yesterday we were shooting all day, everything is very hard, this hellish heat, we are all wet. And now it's the last hour of work, everyone is tired - they set the light, measure out the focus, makeup, costume - no, let's still, let's try another point. Time passes. And I sat down, looked, and could not tear myself away from these people who adore their profession, respect their work, and try to do everything right.

— Your hero Glukharev has become a folk character. He is like a housemate.

- Yes, this story hooked everyone with the fact that in it the hero retained life's values. He does not steal, he has honor and dignity. A normal person returned to the screen - a loving husband, a good father. People needed it. You know, in one of the episodes, the phone number of my hero was highlighted in the frame. But in fact it was the director's number. And the calls started. Cossack villages called, children, schoolchildren, women. Once, a message was left on the answering machine from a man: “Here I live far away, it’s so bad here, there is no work, my wife is exhausted. Everything is so sad. I come home, turn on the TV, and there you are. And I kind of understand that you are an artist and that you have a role there, and I'm talking to you. And you kind of answer me…” I love this story.

- You have very serious roles, classics, including in the theater. How do you combine all this in yourself: TV shows, serials, and Shakespeare on stage? You still sing, as far as I know ...

Consider me a handyman. In Glukhar, believe me, there are Shakespearean passions. I also write articles in magazines and a book. Because it's interesting to me. I regret that there are only 24 hours in a day. As for songs, I've always liked it when dramatic artists perform songs. Great artists worked in this "light" genre: Andrey Mironov, Mark Bernes, Lyudmila Gurchenko. It's boring to point out that I'm "a dramatic artist, I only play serious roles" - it's boring. But to make it so that in the “light” genre you succeed is much more interesting. Then, I try to use all the possibilities.

- You, as I see it, are an absolute fan of the profession. Have you had this since your “cinematic” childhood?

- Certainly. Parents met at Mosfilm, dad was a production designer for many films and performances. There was not enough money to send me somewhere, so I was always where my parents were. On the set, in the theater, at the age of nine he already played on stage. Parents brought their children to the film studio, and we were left to ourselves - we ran to watch how Mary Poppins, Goodbye, Scarecrow was filmed. You see, I had no choice but to love it all. I have never been fond of anything, I have not collected anything - in this sense I am the most boring person. Sports opened up to me recently, when it became necessary to keep in shape.

- It's complicated?

- After forty, she no longer holds herself. I began to run, refused meat, because it takes a lot of energy from me both on the set and on stage. It is difficult, because the endless trips to the cities where I ate, where I didn’t eat, the regime is unhealthy. Before the performance, you can’t eat, because you won’t take off, but there should be a state of lightness.

Are there performances? After all, you left the Satyricon Theater?
- Now I'm playing in Othello, and I hope that next season there will be a production in one of the theaters. This is a very difficult work - a musical, plastic performance "The Threepenny Opera". I don't want to talk about him anymore.

Are you superstitious?

- No. I don’t sit down on a fallen play, because I think what to be is not to be avoided. Success cannot be predicted. If you are worthy, he will find you. Sometimes you think - what a role, now I will do it, it will be a bomb! And she doesn't get through. And the other - only 14 minutes of on-screen existence - suddenly shoots. The film itself is not remembered, but the role is remembered. So I always leave something to Providence. I think the god looks down and says: “It seems that this guy deserves to feel good. Let it be!”

- Do you have your own relations with Israel, how do you rest and perform in it?

Israel is an amazing place. I feel very free there. You know, I'm not a very religious person. When I go to a church in Moscow, I always feel sinful, guilty. And I come to Jerusalem - and I feel good. So every time I go there to wander. Yes, and the whole country is insanely interesting, I climbed all over it. Having already fallen in love, I learned the story - after all, literally every tree is paid for by human life! I will never forget the moment in the documentary chronicle: when the guys finally went to the Wailing Wall, and one of them heard a voice in the walkie-talkie: “Pray, son!” He replies, "I don't know prayer." And then he teaches him to pray on the radio. This shocked me. Then I read the wonderful book Exodus and began to understand much more.
Many times I came to Israel with the Satyricon. And then, when I had my own performance, I dreamed for a long time to come with it. Last year it happened, the tour was great, and then we decided to come with a new program. I have a sign - on my every birthday, November 26, I have to go on stage, and in a new city. This year it will be one of the cities of Israel. What is a birthday? It's like the New Year - how you meet it, you'll spend it. For me, work is the engine of life, so I want to spend the next year at work.

I want to tell you about the performance, after which I was "sausage" for a long time and continues to "sausage" in the good sense of the word, and which I want to see and hear more and more. And I know for sure that I won't get bored. Because he a priori can not get bored, he is always different.
This is a MONO performance by Maxim Averin. For some, the performances of one actor seem boring, watching 2 hours for one person can get bored. But this is not our story. Yes, there is only one actor. But he easily replaces the whole troupe. With his frantic energy, his incredible charm, indefatigable temperament, his charisma, his immense talent. So he ran out onto the stage, smiled his irresistible smile, and that's all ... you are in his power. From the top of your head to the tips of your nails.
The first time I saw this one-man show was in 2011, when my colleagues and I invited Maxim with his production to our Kolomna near Moscow. The performance at that time was still practically a "baby" and was called "Sincerely, without cuts." I then had the happiness of watching Maxim rehearse. Yes, yes, before the performance, he rehearsed everything from "A" to "Z", very meticulously. There was one funny moment at that rehearsal. Maxim probably does not remember him, but this is a real anecdote from life! At the rehearsal, a little man somehow turned out to be in the hall - such a frail, it is clear from everything that he has been a fan of pawning his collar for a long time and in large quantities (as it turned out, it was the cleaning lady's husband). He looked, looked, and then raised his hand, like a student in a lesson and timidly shouted: “Maxim, can I ask you?”. Another actor in this situation would have exploded and demanded to take the unlucky spectator out of the hall, but not Maxim, he treats his fans too carefully and carefully. “Yes, ask,” Averin allowed. "Do you really work for the police?" And at that time, it should be noted, "Capercaillie" thundered throughout the country. I slid down from my chair with laughter, and Maxim, as if nothing had happened, with an absolutely unperturbed look, answered: “Yes, of course, we are there, in the police, we read poetry and sing songs.” To which the little man joyfully cried out: “I knew it, I told everyone, but no one believed me,” after which, happy and contented, he allowed his wife to lead him out of the hall.
This is a lyrical digression to the fact that the audience, for the most part, goes to this performance to look at the Capercaillie, the surgeon Bragin or another beloved Averin movie character, and then bam ... and there is neither one nor the other. And there is an Artist (that's right, with a capital letter), who in some incomprehensible way turns your whole soul inside out.
Now the performance bears the poetic name "Everything begins with love", and this is a completely different action. Still amazing...
Everything is here: brilliant poetry (as my 14-year-old daughter said: “Maxim chose worthy poetry”), songs, funny and sad, and even damn incendiary dances! There are laughter and tears. There is so much mixed up here, so many colors!
I am not afraid to call Averin in some sense my teacher. After all, he opened many poets to me, a philologist by education, in a new way. In student years, the wind in the head is still walking, not everything can reach the heart and mind. Yes, I loved the poet David Samoilov, and thanks to Maxim, I now read to them. Yes, I liked Rozhdestvensky, and now, thanks to Averin, I adore it. I did not accept Mayakovsky, but now much of his poetry is close to me, and again thanks to Maxim for this. From Vertinsky, to my shame, she knew very little - she re-read, re-listened to, imbued, fell in love, and again she could not do without Averin.
God, how he reads poetry! Even those who have never held a poetry collection in their hands will not be able not to fall in love with poetry after what they have heard. Vysotsky, Brodsky, Mayakovsky, Samoilov, Vertinsky, Kochetkov... HOW does he read? Grandiose, amazing, exciting ... yes, not a single epithet can describe HOW he does it. Here he reads, and you forget to breathe. And "The Death of Tsyganov" by David Samoilov? It's just spot on. The whole hall is crying. Silently weeps. Not a single extra sound, only Averinsky's voice to break the soul. It is impossible to describe all the emotions, it must be seen and heard.
Maybe someone imagines it this way: well, the artist stood up at the microphone, well, he recites beautiful poems, chanting so, pathetically ... well, what's the supernatural here? Oh what a delusion. Here, every poem, every song is a small performance.
By the way, but I was mistaken, Averin is not alone on stage. He has two faithful partners. It is Sound and Light. And they do not play a secondary role here. Incredibly talented musical and lighting scores create a special atmosphere in the hall, working in unison with the Artist.
2 hours fly by like 5 minutes. Averin is so light, so breathtakingly sexy, blindingly charming, and so deep, real, sincere ... He flies around the stage, well, just Figaro here, Figaro there. Here he is reading Vertinsky:
"He loved... He was a man,
He did not know that even roses
Frost smells like piss.
Poor piccolo bambino!"
You are still crying ... And in a second he is already dancing, doing incredible steps. Here he sings:
“I’ll kiss, I’m jealous, I’ll fall in love ...
My unexpected, strange,
Desired to death ... ".
And you smile with all 32 teeth and sing along. And now you find yourself in the world of Vysotsky's "Masks" ... and freeze ... and your eyes are in a wet place ...
And in a moment he is already poisoning jokes and you laugh, and again tears, only from laughter. And again the song is the incredibly beautiful romance "Garnet Bracelet", and again something happens in the heart that cannot be explained in words. And here he is fluttering around the hall, giving the audience flowers, and applause ... applause ... applause ...
And in the finale - "The Ballad of a Smoky Carriage":
“Do not part with your loved ones.
With all your blood, sprout in them ... ”- a lump in the throat ... and goosebumps all over the body, and tears again cannot be hidden. And you are bursting with happiness that you see and hear IT!
Returning home at night after the performance, I already know for sure that insomnia awaits me. But not excruciatingly tedious, but pleasant, because I will re-read Samoilov, or Vertinsky, and possibly Brodsky, and I will remember-remember-remember and relive what I saw again and again.
And also, my dear friend Maxim Averin, I want to thank you for the memory of the infinitely beloved Lyudmila Markovna Gurchenko. She is a whole Planet, immense, inexplicable, incredible! I am sure that in those moments when you talk about her in the play, when you perform your general number, she smiles at you from heaven.
This performance will live for a very, very long time, and will constantly change. Because Averin is restless and will never stand still and be content with what is already so beautiful and talented. No, he will improve his creation and at the same time improve himself. He will "blow ahead" (as Lyudmila Gurchenko liked to repeat).

At the age of nine, Averin was already playing at the Theater of Miniatures, in the play Brandenburg Gate, and at the same time he studied acting at the theater studio at the Cinema House. With such a start, the choice of a further life path was predetermined: the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute, the Vakhtangov Theater and the Satyricon. Among the roles are serious and comedic, melodramatic and harsh images in action films, all played incredibly poignantly, they take to the soul. In addition - participation in the show, shooting in clips, commercials, vocals for movie soundtracks and even voice acting for commands in computer games. All this requires from the actor not only natural talent, but also highly professional training, flexibility and plasticity. Maxim is the winner of numerous theatrical and film awards, a simple listing of which can take half a page.

He defines himself as a "pioneer", thus emphasizing his spiritual youth and optimism. As a life credo, he takes the words from the song: "Remember how many good people there are, we have much more of them ...". “Does not collect evil”, does not remember bad things ... “If we go outside now, most people will smile when they see me. I am the one who makes you smile. I am sure that this is my mission, ”the actor says in numerous interviews, reinforcing what he said with a charming smile.
It is always spring in his soul, regardless of precipitation, natural disasters and atmospheric pressure. His mood and performances are influenced only by people whom he can "read" on an emotional level. In his opinion, there are no completely independent people, and the desire for freedom should be expressed in the desire to make one's life interesting and creative. Therefore, after three seasons, Averin is able to leave a profitable project that has become monotonous in terms of acting, such as, for example, the successful TV series Capercaillie, in order to search for new creativity.

It harmoniously coexists homebody and restless adventurer, whose passion for change of place constantly tears him off the cozy sofa. The spirit of touring, travel, the thirst for new experiences, are necessary to him like air. He has the happy property of feeling good where he is. And there is no such corner on the planet where Averin would be uncomfortable or uninteresting.

“Despite the fact that the performance has changed, we decided not to change its name, because, in the end, all poems, songs, our whole life is about love,” says Maxim Averin, and continues: “Hello, my dear viewers! Thank you for being you, for the fact that thanks to you I feel the fullness of my life, for the warmth that you give me, for the sparkle in your eyes! Your recognition makes my every day happy, thanks to your support I want to create and conquer new heights! Today's pace of life makes us hurry up, be in time everywhere and as much as possible, and we sometimes forget in this crazy rhythm what is dear to us - that we need warmth, love and mutual understanding, we take, but we do not have time to give ... I am talking about this in my performance, which I call the "performance-revelation". Revelation - because it contains poems, selected theatrical monologues, songs that today define me as a person.
