The summer music festival gathers virtuoso performers from different countries within the walls of one of the most beautiful architectural monuments of the capital.
The State Museum-Estate "Arkhangelskoye" deservedly ranks among the main cultural venues in Moscow. Central to the series of bright events taking place on the territory of the historical complex - along with the famous festival - is the large-scale art marathon "Mystery", which is usually held in the second half of summer.
The Arts Forum takes the viewer into the atmosphere of noble music salons of the 18th-19th centuries. Bach and Handel in one concert. This makes it possible to go back to the era of the titans - when the sky spoke to the earth in the language of music... the organ sounded like an orchestra... the orchestra sounded like an organ...
Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Handel never met. This is all the more strange because they were born in the same year, 80 miles apart. And in the future, until Handel left for England, they were constantly within the limits of mutual territorial proximity - Germany is not so big. Both, of course, knew and appreciated each other's work. Both are brilliant composers. But... it didn't work out. However, history has long put everything in its place. Bach sounds in concert next to Handel. And there is no element of competition in this. Rather, on the contrary, it is precisely such a comparison that makes it possible to obtain the most voluminous idea of that great era. An era famous for unattainable artistic breakthroughs - when the sky spoke to the earth in the language of music, when the organ sounded like an orchestra, and the orchestra sounded like an organ, when fashionable secular music did not hide its spiritual origins, and composers were universal. An era in which the life paths of the two greatest contemporaries never crossed. It's a pity. They would have something to talk about.

Irish and Scottish bagpipes. Compare and enjoy. The element of music in a perfect instrumental embodiment. Not falling in love is impossible
If someone tells you that all English bagpipes are the same, do not believe this person. Either he does not know anything, or he is trying to deceive you. The loud Scottish bagpipe is an instrument designed for war and parades. She always and everywhere accompanied the great soldiers of the Scottish army. The Irish bagpipe is softer, more aristocratic. Her voice is more gentle, thoughtful. The ranges are also different. Against as many as two chromatic ones in Irish - one octave in Scottish. The basses of the Scottish are fixed fifths, those of the Irish allow you to vary the pitch. The tools and the way air is supplied to the bag differ. If the Scottish is a typical, in fact, wind instrument, air is blown into it through a tube, then the Irish is somewhat closer to the organ, the air supply to it is mechanical, through bellows.
But it is impossible to give primacy to any of the bagpipes. Both are great, each in their own way. Both are incredibly popular.

He received his musical education at the Russian Academy of Music (piano class of Prof. Theodor Gutman) and at the Moscow Conservatory (organ class of Prof. Leonid Roizman). The musician began his wide concert activity in 1970 as a soloist - harpsichordist, organist and pianist. He performs in Russia and abroad (CIS countries, Poland, Germany, Austria, Belgium). Repeatedly took part in many European music festivals - in Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden, Schwerin, Vienna, Warsaw, Brussels, Charleroi, Budapest and many other cities. The only one in Russia and one of the very few musicians in Europe Alexander Maykapar performed in concerts and recorded on the radio the Complete Collection of Harpsichord Works by I.S. Bach. Significant events in the musical life of Moscow were the festivals held by Alexander Maykapar in the Armory of the Moscow Kremlin. The first of them was timed to coincide with the visit to Russia of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain (with the participation of the British Embassy, the British Council and under the patronage of the British Ambassador, Mr. Brian Fall). The second one is "Masterpieces of Music among the Masterpieces of the Kremlin". To date, the British company "Olympia" has released five CDs by Alexander Maykapar in London with recordings of ancient Russian music on harpsichord, piano and ancient clavier from the collection of the Ostankino Palace of Counts Sheremetevs. Alexander Maikapar is an authoritative art critic. He has over 100 published works on music history, performing arts, and musical iconography. The books by Wanda Landowska "About Music" (M., 1991), Erwin Bodka's "Interpretation of Bach's Clavier Works" (M., 1993), Walter Emery's "Bach's Ornaments" (M., 1996) were published in translation by Alexander Maykapar. Alexander Maykapar has been especially closely cooperating with the KRON-PRESS Publishing House lately. Here In the series "Academy" published his significant work in the field of iconography of Western Christian art "The New Testament in Art" (M., 1997). Earlier in this series, James Hall's "Dictionary of Plots and Symbols in Art" (Moscow, 1996) translated by Alexander Maykapar was published - a reference book recognized as a classic. Organ classics… What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear these words? Of course, the fantasy Bach's toccata in D minor, whose dynamic waves are akin to an ocean tsunami. And, inspired by the toccata, a mathematically impeccable fugue that accumulates the energy of the cosmos. And also the Passacaglia, whose unchanging inevitability of the bass line sounds like rock. Albinoni's Adagio is one of the pinnacles of world classics. The story told by music is tragic, sublime... and extraordinarily beautiful. Mussorgsky's "Bogatyr Gates" are so monumental that they simply ask for organ transcription. But "Baba Yaga", from the same "Pictures at an Exhibition" - a surprise. I wonder how exactly the character of Russian folk tales will fly out of the brilliant organ pipes to the listeners? The Four Seasons by Vivaldi is an absolute classic. But the organ sounded relatively recently - thanks to the brilliant arrangement by Evgenia Lisitsyna. She will also perform the famous "Spring". As well as all the other works listed above.

Organ, duduk and saxophone. The unexpected composition of this trio causes surprise and delight. Surprise - because this, in the entire thousand-year history of music, has never happened before. Delight - because there is an amazing opportunity to hear the magical consonance of the legendary instruments. The organ is practically almost the same age as European civilization, the saxophone was invented only less than two hundred years ago, the duduk is a folk instrument, for all its centuries-old history, which entered the classical concert stage only in the twentieth century. Until quite recently, such an ensemble seemed impossible. But, thanks to the meeting of wonderful musicians: duduk player Khosrov Manukyan, organist Ivan Ipatov and saxophonist Mikhail Troshin, a miracle happened. And the point is not even that each of the members of the ensemble is a great soloist who has numerous victories at international competitions behind him (and this is exactly the case!) - but that as a result of the creative community something absolutely new has arisen, which has no analogues in modern performance, nor in all previous history. Each of the musicians of the trio is multifaceted and unpredictable. Organist Ivan Ipatov - composer and pianist, duduk player Khosrov Manukyan - pianist, sound engineer and arranger, saxophonist Mikhail Troshin - a master of jazz improvisation and a wonderful classical musician. They are very different, but they were all united by the search for something new. The huge success that accompanies each performance of the Belcanto Trio is a natural result of tireless work, continuous search, complementarity of the versatility of performing and personal talents of the ensemble members.
Swan Lake, Nutcracker and Sleeping BeautyBy writing music for the ballet, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky created a miracle. And the point here is not even that this music (like everything else with him!) Is brilliant. But the fact that ballet music sounded valuable in itself turned out to be new and unexpected. Instead of the usual rhythmic unobtrusive accompaniment of the dance, the surprised audience heard a work of symphonic scope. Music: with an infinitely beautiful melody... climaxes comparable to mountain ranges... a rhythm that pulsates like life itself. And all this turned out to be unusually convenient for dancing. It is logical that the suites from these ballets immediately sounded from the concert stage. And they still sound - with great, unflagging success.

The III International Choreographic Competition "Mystery of Dance" was held in Moscow from December 15 to 17, 2017 with the information support of the Ministry of Culture of the Moscow Region.
The competition was also supported by information: St. Petersburg State Institution of Culture and Additional Education "Institute of Cultural Programs", Leningrad Regional State Budgetary Institution of Culture "Educational and Methodological Center of Culture and Art".
December is the perfect time to try your hand at the capital's venues. On the eve of the New Year, the strongest dancers from Russia, the CIS countries and Europe entered the fight for the title of the Grand Prix laureate of the unique choreographic competition "The Mystery of Dance". It is on the eve of the main winter holiday that magic is in the air and creates a special atmosphere in which it is so easy to believe in yourself and discover new talents. At the Mystery of Dance competition, our participants performed on one of the best stages in the city, received a huge amount of training material at master classes from leading choreographers, rested in their free time from the competition, taking advantage of a rich leisure program, went on a sightseeing tour of New Year's Moscow, within which we saw the main Christmas tree of the country on Red Square, walked along the Kremlin embankment and took amazing photos at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Contestants from 2 republics, territories, 9 regions and 20 cities came to the III International Choreographic Competition "Mystery of Dance" to demonstrate their achievements and improve their skills: Bobruisk (Republic of Belarus), Mirny (Yakutia, Sakha Republic), Izhevsk, Irkutsk, the village of Privolnoe (Stavropol Territory), Volgograd, Yaroslavl, Koryazhma (Arkhangelsk Region), Nizhny Novgorod, Kemerovo, Vladimir, Tula, Moscow and Moscow Region.

The Grand Prix in the nomination "Folk Dance" in the age group of 12-18 years and a grant of 50,000 rubles for a trip to the International Competition-Festival of Musical and Artistic Creativity "Childhood Holiday", which will be held on November 22-26, 2018 in St. Petersburg, won the ensemble dance "Rossiyanka" MUK DK "Moskovsky" (head Lyudmila Sergeevna Aseeva, teacher-accompanist Tokman T.V., Moscow). The team impressed the jury with impeccable technique, bright costumes and incredible energy.
The Grand Prix in the nomination "Modern Dance" in the age group of 12-15 years and a grant of 30,000 rubles for a trip to the International Competition-Festival of Musical and Artistic Creativity "Open Pages. Yaroslavl”, which will be held in May 2018 in Yaroslavl, won the exemplary modern dance ensemble “Sculptor” (leader Roman Mustafin, Svetlana Laina, Chernogolovka). The performance of the ensemble was one of the brightest in the history of our competition. The young dancers literally mesmerized the audience and gave 100% on the stage.
Diploma of the laureate of the 1st degree in the nomination "Folk Dance" in the age group of 12-15 years and a grant of 30,000 rubles for a trip to the International Competition-Festival of Musical and Artistic Creativity "Golden Legend", which will be held on October 26-28, 2018 in Suzdal, won the choreographic ensemble " Zadorinki (headed by Victoria Evgenievna Ravich, teacher-tutor Alena Ivanovna Ushakova, accompanist Stanislav Valentinovich Prishchip, Yaroslavl). The collective of the ensemble - a multiple participant of our festivals again confirmed the title of one of the strongest this time in the "folk" nomination, remembering the audience for the mass character and entertainment of the production.
Diploma of the laureate of the 1st degree in the nomination "Variety dance" in the age group of 15-20 years and a grant of 50,000 rubles for a trip to the International Competition-Festival of Musical and Artistic Creativity "Eastern Fairy Tale", which will be held May 31 - June 3, 2018 in Kazan, won the dance theater "Eccentric step" (head Aleksey Alexandrovich Soshnikov, Kemerovo). An extraordinary number in original costumes fully corresponded to the unusual name of the group, confirming the creative approach to each number both on the part of the teaching staff and the dancers.
Diploma of the laureate of the 1st degree in the nomination "Folk Dance" in the age group of 14-17 years and a grant of 30,000 rubles for a trip to the International Competition-Festival of Musical and Artistic Creativity "Sounds and Colors of the White Nights", which will be held May 31 - June 3, 2018 in St. Petersburg, won the exemplary folk dance studio "Andan" (headed by Felix Borisovich Khubetsov, Izhevsk). Gssti from the capital of Udmurtia demonstrated all the subtleties of folklore: from the details in the costume to the refined, historically correct and verified movements, with the help of which the dancers told a real story from the stage.
Olga Ushakova's dance school (director Ekaterina Nikolaevna Poddaeva, Yegoryevsk) received a special prize in the nomination "For a high level of performing skills".

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT. Participants of all nominations can perform competitive works with live musical accompaniment or have phonograms on a USB-drive (flash drive) signed as follows: track name, band or full name and city (for example: "Russian Dance", ans. Kalinka, Moscow). There must be no other files on the USB stick other than the competition program.
SPEECH PROGRAM
Each group participating in the competition presents a performance program consisting of two works with a total duration of up to 10 minutes (two numbers), taking into account the exit and departure from the stage. In the nomination "dance theatres", the performance time can be extended up to 15 minutes if it is one plot production.
JURY
The evaluation of the participants is carried out by a jury consisting of professional dancers, choreographers of higher educational institutions, directors, choreographers and variety artists.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Competitive numbers are evaluated on a 10-point system.
- Performance technique - compliance with the style, level of complexity, originality of choreographer's decisions, creative idea, the dancer's ability to perform the characteristic features of the chosen dance technique, performance quality, rhythm, synchrony in the performance of the dance, lexical and compositional solution.
- Composition / choreography - the choice of dance elements and their composition, figures, variation, use of the dance floor, interaction with each other, variability and originality in the use of various bundles.
- Image - self-expression, presentation, contact with the audience, costume, expression of a conceived idea in a dance composition, props, makeup. The entertainment of the room. Correspondence of the repertoire to the age characteristics of the participants.
Summing up the results of the competition
Winners are determined in accordance with the decision of the jury, based on the points reflected in the protocols.
The decision of the jury is final and cannot be changed.
PRIZES AND AWARDS.
All teams participating in the competition are awarded with diplomas and commemorative cups. In each nomination and age category, the titles of Laureate I, II, III degrees, as well as the titles of Diploma I, II III degrees are awarded. One team that receives the most votes from the jury members is awarded a Grand Prix diploma and a cash grant. Special diplomas and titles have also been established: "Best choreographer", "Diploma for artistry", "Best costume", "For a high level of performing skills", "Best production on a patriotic theme".
