15.10.2019

In or, you must issue a Thailand migration card, on the basis of which a stamp is placed in the passport (, we have already agreed earlier).

Thai migration card- this is a document containing information about a tourist, as well as allowing him to temporarily stay in Thailand for a period of not more than 30 days for Russians and 15 days for other CIS citizens without the need.

Types of migration cards

There is no need to worry and look for the blank of this card, they are handed out right in flight. But, even if you managed to sleep through this exciting moment or ruined the form, no disaster will happen. Blank cards are always available in unlimited quantities at the Thai airport at the counter Immigration. The migration card consists of two parts:

  • Arrival card- arrival in the country;
  • Departure card- departure from the country.

The arrival card is taken immediately at the border control post, and the departures are attached to the passport. You may be asked to show it at the time of check-in at the hotel () or check exchange.

Possible problems

In case of violation of the period of stay in the country, you are threatened. In this case, you can get off with both a light fine and a prison term. It all depends on how many days you have lived in Thailand illegally.

Also, try not to lose it while traveling, because not only can you be denied check-in at a hotel, but you still won’t be able to return home without it. Naturally, it will be possible to make a duplicate at the airport, but in this case "you cannot do without sedatives."

This card is correctly called the “migration registration card”, filling it out when crossing the border is a common procedure in all countries. Thus, the state takes into account citizens of foreign states legally crossing the border. A similar card is also filled in when foreigners cross the Russian border. It consists of two parts - an arrival card and a departure card. In this article, you will learn what a Thailand migration card is and its 2019 sample with recommendations for each item.

The surname, first name, patronymic, year of birth and an identity document are entered in the arrival card. The purpose of arrival in the country and the reasons for crossing the border are indicated. At the border checkpoints of different countries, migration cards are different, the information to fill out, except for the main ones, is also often different. Thailand, as a country with one of the most favorable conditions for tourism, has developed one of the most complete information forms.

The most common way to arrive in Thailand for citizens of the Russian Federation is by plane. About an hour before landing at the airport of Bangkok or Phuket, flight attendants hand out migration cards to fill out.

At land border checkpoints, they are exactly the same, and while waiting for registration, you can fill it out at a special counter. There are also counters at airports; under the glass of the counter, there is usually a sample of filling out the Thai migration card. But it is more convenient to fill out the card without haste in the airliner's seat.

Filling rules

Let's consider all the points in order. In 2019, the card has not changed compared to previous years. General filling rules - the card is filled in in English in block letters, with a ballpoint pen, a cross is placed in the boxes for marks, as shown on the card itself.
Upon arrival, you must fill out the arrival form "ARRIVAL CARD".

  1. On the front side, fill in - Family name (Last name), First name and middle name (first name and patronymic), Nationality (nationality), in the boxes Male - Female put a gender mark. Man Woman.
  2. Next comes information about the identity card, the document required to cross the border - Passport No. Specify the serial number. On the same level as the passport is the Date of Birth. Attention! This is the date of birth, and not the date of issue of the passport and not the period of its validity.
  3. The following is the basis for entry into Thailand. Put down the number valid from your passport Visa No. If you are arriving for up to 30 days and are eligible for visa free entry, this field is left blank.
    1. Address in Thailand - indicate the place of your stay, most often indicate the city and the name of the hotel, they will not require more from you.
      1. If you own your own accommodation, decide to stay with a friend or relative, you must write the exact address. It usually includes the city, street name, house number, Moo block and a five-digit postal code, the province and district can be omitted. An example is Soi Suksombun, 55 moo 8, Banglamung, 20150.
  4. On the right side of the card, between the barcode and the field for official marks, there is a line where you need to indicate the flight number on which you arrived. Flight ore Other Vehicle No.
All of this is signed Signature. There is an inscription next to the signature - If you are not a resident of Thailand, please fill out the reverse side.

Let's move on to the other side. It is asked to indicate the occupation, annual income, for what purpose the non-resident arrived in Thailand, whether it is the first time he arrives (First trip on Thailand, yes - no). The mark of a group tourist visit immediately follows the question about the status of the flight (Traveling on group tour, yes - no).

At the very top, you need to put a mark on which flight you arrived in the country - a charter or a regular Charter - Schedule. The fact is that there is a rule that if you arrived on a regular flight, then you must leave Thailand on a regular, not a charter one.

It is not mandatory, it was adopted to protect the commercial interests of airlines, but be careful about this. If you are going to leave Thailand on a charter flight, then indicate your arrival - charter.

  1. Accommodation (accommodation) - a mark on where the foreigner is going to live, in a hotel, in a guest house, in rented or own apartments or in a friend's house.
  2. Purpose of visit (the purpose of the visit) - mark the choice of vacation or vacation (Holiday), training (Education), business, conference, and more. Pay attention to the mark transit.
  3. Yearly income (annual income). The Thai authorities are wary of people without certain occupations and stable income. You can choose not to disclose all your income, but it is better to put a mark where income is indicated and ignore no income!
    1. If a foreigner is a tourist in a group on a charter flight, there will be no questions to him about this.
    2. If a foreigner travels independently, his income is of interest to the migration authorities. The line Occupation (profession) is also directly related to this, usually they indicate “manager”, but if you wish, you can enter a real profession. There is a line in the upper right corner. More important information is below.
  4. Country of residence - indicates the place of residence according to the civil passport (conditionally - registration) city and country. From port of embarkation - it is indicated from which city the foreigner arrived, and next city / port of disembarkation - which next city he intends to visit. For example: if you arrive at Bangkok airport, you can indicate the next city is Pattaya or Koh Chang, but this is important in case of transit through Thailand and is not important in other cases. 2019 was the year in which cases of transit through hospitable Thailand became commonplace.

Arrival stamp

When all the lines are filled in, a foreign tourist with a passport and visa goes to the passport border control desk, where an arrival stamp is affixed to him. Usually, there are no mistakes, but border guards are people too, so it's better to check the deadlines entered in the stamp. Either it is 30 days, or the period specified in the visa.

Filling out the departure form

The migration card consists of two parts. The "DEPARTURE CARD" part (departure form) has the same barcode and number. It can be filled out later, but must be kept with your passport. The Departure Card is just as important in verifying the legitimacy of your stay in the Kingdom of Siam as the stamp in your passport. It is also stamped with the date.

Filling in all the lines, by analogy with the arrival form, is not difficult. Only the Surname, First Name, Patronymic, date of birth, citizenship and passport number are entered there. When leaving the kingdom, the card is handed over at the border control, and a departure stamp is put in the passport. Usually, this procedure does not raise any questions from the border guards.

Some nuances when filling out migration cards and using them

The conditions for a visa-free stay in the Kingdom of Thailand state that a tourist must have a return ticket to their homeland or to a third country. The same requirements apply for tourist visas. That is why, in the departure card there is a line Flight ore Other Vehicle No, it must be filled in upon arrival, this will free you from unnecessary questions. The dates are indicated in the European format, from the birth of Christ, but in banks and the police, the date is indicated from the day of the death of Buddha.

Some countries do not have departure cards. Here it is stored in the passport and can come in handy in circumstances that are completely unexpected for a tourist. For example, when trying to open an account in a Thai bank, when buying and registering a car or motorbike, when passing an exam for the right to drive a vehicle.

Attention to filling out documents and respect for officials at border control is a guarantee of a wonderful holiday in the land of smiles.

If someone is not in the know, but the migration card has recently been changed, which must be filled out before the Thai border. These cards are handed out to everyone on the plane when you fly from Russia. Some Asian airlines do not issue. But, of course, there are forms before passport control, but it will take extra time, so I fill it out on the plane, if possible.

I'm posting a sample. And I remember the first time when I flew to Tai, I asked the neighbors what they meant. It seems clear, but doubtful.

How do I complete the card

And now, just in case, an example of my filling. Let there be another example.

Some explanation

  • It is necessary to fill in both sides and both parts. The border guard will keep one of them for himself, the second will be invested in your foreign passport, and it is better not to lose it, otherwise you will have to go to the immigration office later.
  • The cards are not exactly a formality, but they are not particularly checked. This is not to the fact that you need to write incorrect information there, but to the fact that you do not need to be a perfectionist. For example, in the card you need to indicate your annual income, I think it is obvious to everyone that you can put a tick in any field and this will not affect anything.
  • Similarly, the address in Thailand - just specify the city and the name of your hotel.
  • You do not need to fill in the visa number if you will be entering on a 30-day stamp.
  • Fill out in blue or black ink. And take a pen with you on the plane, flight attendants don't hand them out, you'll have to ask your neighbors who has one. From experience, few people take.

Upon arrival in the “land of smiles”, everyone will need to fill out a Thai migration card. This document gives the right to visa-free entry: for Russian citizens, you only need to put a stamp, and for 30 days you can safely enjoy your vacation.

As a rule, the migration card of the Kingdom of Thailand is handed over to tourists on the plane. Attentive flight attendants will help with the correct filling of all lines and columns of the document. If the tourist did not get the form for any reason, then you can get it directly at the Bangkok airport (counter with the “Immigration” sign).

Filling rules

Filling out a migration card is a mandatory condition for all foreign citizens who are going to visit the country. The document consists of two parts: the Arrival card section provides for entering information about a foreign citizen upon his arrival in the country, and the Departure card section contains data at the time of departure.

The columns assume the reflection of standard information: the last name and first name of the visitor, his passport data, date and place of birth, citizenship, flight number, country (city and airport) from which the citizen arrived.

All entries must be made neatly, legibly, in block letters, without errors, corrections and blots. Border guards do not check migration cards too meticulously, however, all items are subject to mandatory completion.

Losing your card while in the country is highly undesirable. The fact is that it may be required when checking into a hotel, exchanging currencies, checks, using credit cards, etc. The main thing is that without a migration card it is impossible to fly back, and at the airport you will have to fill everything out again.

In order to quickly pass through passport control, you must provide the representative of the authorities with a completed migration card and passport. The border guard keeps part of the Arrival card, and the section for departure is attached to the passport. On the way back, part of the Departure card is withdrawn.
