Autumn leaf in pencil. Schemes for drawing leaves, branches and trees (birch, spruce, oak, maple)

13.06.2019

Tree leaves are perhaps the most beautiful of natural decorations. That is why, leaves can often be seen in the paintings of various artists - from beginners to professionals. If you don't know how to draw leaves yet, this article is for you.

Don't be put off by the fact that the photo shows only one oak leaf. Having learned how to draw it, you can easily draw any other leaves - the main thing is to correctly understand the principle.

How to draw leaves quickly and easily

First, draw the outlines of the leaf. To do this, approximately in the middle of a paper sheet, draw a vertical strip, slightly curved - this will be the middle. And to it - add a drop-shaped detail. This is the basis of the future oak leaf.

Now, it's time to turn this sketch into a more detailed drawing. To do this, right inside the drop-shaped part, draw carved wavy lines - like a real oak leaf. In some places, you can slightly go beyond the edges of the sketch outlines - or, conversely, not reach them. It doesn't matter. Your drawing does not have to exactly repeat the photo. After all, no two leaves are exactly alike. And you also need to slightly change the lower part of the leaf - making a stem from a simple line.

There is very little left. Erase the extra pencil lines left over from the sketch with an eraser. And then - draw the veins of the leaf. It's very simple - just draw a few straight small lines on each side to the vertical line in the middle.

That's all! Now you know, how to draw leaves. And, not only oak. In the same way, you can draw maple leaves, and birch and any other tree.

Draw with pleasure!

By the way, there is an interesting way of coloring with colored corrugated paper. You must first draw the leaves on paper in the same way with white wax crayon. After that, tear the corrugated paper of autumn colors (red, yellow, orange, brown) into small pieces and, wetting each piece well in water, stick them on the drawing. Make sure that there are no two pieces of paper of the same color next to each other. Let the paper dry a little (but not completely!), Then remove it from the drawing. You will get a wonderful multi-colored background. Leave the work to dry completely, then put it under the press.

Method 2.

An interesting autumn craft will turn out if you put a leaf under a thin foil. In this case, the foil should be placed with the shiny side up. After that, you need to gently smooth the foil with your fingertips so that the pattern shows through. Next, you need to cover it with a layer of black paint (it can be gouache, ink, tempera). When the paint is dry, rub the painting very gently with a steel dishcloth. At the same time, the protruding veins of the leaf will shine, and dark paint will remain in the recesses. Now you can stick the resulting relief on a sheet of colored cardboard.

Method 3.

A very simple and at the same time effective technique is to print leaves on paper, on which paint is previously applied. Any paint can be used, only it must be applied to the side of the leaves where the veins appear.

A beautiful autumn drawing will turn out if you print the leaves with white paint on a sheet of dark-colored cardboard. When the paint dries, it is necessary to color the leaves with colored pencils. It will turn out beautifully if some leaves are left white.

The background can be left as is, or made colored by painting with paints with a sponge. In this case, it is necessary to leave a small unpainted space around the leaves.

If you decide to make the background colored, then the leaves themselves can be left white.

Method 4.

To give volume to your drawings, you can use the following interesting technique. You will need thin wrapping paper or white crepe paper.

Method 6.

Another original autumn drawing, made in warm and cold colors. The leaves themselves are drawn in warm colors (yellow, red, orange), the background - in cold colors (green, blue, purple). You will need a compass to do this job.

1. Draw several leaves of different shapes on paper.
2. Now, using a compass, draw a circle with a small radius in the lower left corner of the sheet of paper. Next, adding about 1 cm, draw circles of larger and larger radius, as far as the compass will allow.
3. Now do the same in the upper right corner.
4. Finally, color the autumn leaves with felt-tip pens or pencils in warm colors (the colors should alternate sequentially), and the background in cold colors.

Maple Leaf. maple leaf drawing

Method 7.

Help your child draw a maple leaf on a piece of paper. Divide it with veins into sectors. Let the child color each sector of the leaflet with some special pattern.

You can combine two methods.

Method 8.

Another unusual autumn drawing.

1. Draw leaves of various shapes on paper. They should occupy the entire sheet of paper, but not touch each other. Part of the leaves should start from the borders of the sheet of paper. Draw only the contours of the leaves, without veins.
2. Now, using a simple pencil and a ruler, draw two lines from left to right and two from top to bottom. The lines should cross the leaves, dividing them into sectors.
3. Choose two colors for the background and two colors for the leaves. Color them in the chosen colors in the same way as in the picture.
4. When the paint dries, trace the outlines of the leaves and the drawn lines with a gold marker.

Method 9.

To make this autumn craft, you will need a regular newspaper and paints (including white paint).

1. Draw a maple leaf on a piece of newspaper.

2. Color it with paint and after the paint is dry, cut it out.

3. Take another sheet of newspaper and draw and paint over a large square on it with white paint.

4. Lay your sheet over the paint and wait for it to dry completely.

5. This is what you should end up with!

From this article you will learn

This tutorial is a great exercise for beginners to understand symmetry and building basics.

Agree, the maple leaf is not a very symmetrical shape, it is difficult to find perfect symmetry in nature. But the two halves are very similar, so we will conditionally designate them as symmetrical. How to use construction to draw symmetrical shapes and how to draw a maple leaf pencil, learn from this lesson. I use photos processed in Photoshop, clearly demonstrating the construction lines. However, remember, they are imaginary, they are formed live by applying a pencil and comparing with the help of an eye.

Construction. Comparing leaf branches using construction lines

Construction is a term that denotes a set of actions aimed at accurately transferring the proportions, the shape of an object depicted from nature onto a sheet of paper. In other words, it helps to portray the subject as it is in nature. Construction lines are displayed temporarily to determine the shape and proportions of the object.

There is no clear guide on how to draw a maple leaf correctly. Any object is depicted by the artist as he feels, understands it. I propose to consider the lesson in detail and step by step to teach you how to disassemble any object into elementary components. This will help in the future to manage the drawing of complex subjects in which it is difficult to understand what and what to relate to. Simply put, the more complex the construction of the simplest form, the easier it will be to deal with the most complex objects. In practice, some steps may be skipped in the future.

First, let's designate the dimensions of the maple, note the height, width, compare these parameters relative to each other. The maple is slightly wider than it is tall.

We mark the middle of the leaflet and the center of symmetry, we find the point from which large processes emerge like a fan.

The maple leaf has five main processes, four on the sides and a fifth at the top. The bottom two are on the same horizontal line as the point we marked earlier.

The tips of the two upper processes are not on the same line. We draw an imaginary horizontal line from the left tip. Note that it is almost the same distance from the top tip as the line through the fan point from the bottom edge.

We draw a fan of processes, with the help of horizontal lines it is easy to compare the angles of inclination of the lines of the fan.

Detailed work details

Now you can draw a maple pattern as similar as possible to the photographed leaf.

We refine the details, draw the contours in more detail

Hatching. Putting tone on a line drawing

Before hatching, remove the construction, clean the flaws with an eraser.

The left half of the leaflet is shaded, the right half is illuminated by a light source. Notice how beautiful the drop shadow is on the left. We cover the entire area with a tone, distribute dark and lighter spots.

We detail the pattern of foliage, draw the veins with an eraser cut at an acute angle.

Before finishing, slightly generalize the veins drawn with an eraser in some places, correct them with a pencil somewhere, and refine the background. Finish off by emphasizing the tips on the light sides and adding contrast to the drop shadow and center.

If you understand the principles of how to draw a maple leaf step by step with a pencil, you will be able to draw the shapes more difficult using a similar method.

Today we will learn how to draw leaves. This workshop is suitable for everyone, from young children.

Each has its own personality - leaves. They come in different shapes, sizes, colors. There are also those that do not have leaves at all. These include coniferous trees.

To draw leaves with a simple shape, you need to draw a simple sketch first. He will determine the appearance of each leaf, their size and fine details in them. Of course, each leaf is unique and does not bear a complete resemblance to others from its tree. Therefore, if you cannot accurately depict each leaf, then do not worry. After all, this will bring them even closer to the natural and natural look, as their nature intended.

Necessary materials:

  • colored pencils in yellow, orange, green, brown;
  • simple pencil;
  • black marker;
  • eraser.

Drawing steps:

1. Draw a large circle on a piece of paper.

2. To it, in the lower part of the left side, draw the tip of the sheet in the form of a triangle.

3. But on the right side in the upper part, draw the tail of the leaf to the circle.

4. Add a center line in the middle of the sheet.

5. From the center line, which runs from the tail to the tip of the leaf, we will draw small veins to the sides. There may be several.

6. Thus, on the left side, draw a small leaf. It will look exactly like the right leaf, but it will be smaller and look like a mirror image.

7. We begin to trace the outline of each sheet, together with small details, with a black marker or felt-tip pen.

8. We apply our own color to each leaf. A large leaf will be green and fresh, but a small one will be autumnal and already yellowed. Therefore, for the right sheet we use a light green pencil, and for the left - yellow.

9. For the brightness and volume of the picture, we additionally use other shades for each leaf: for a large one - a dark green pencil, and for a small one - an orange tone.

10. Draw the tails of each leaf with a brown pencil. Also, this pencil can be used additionally to decorate the autumn leaf.

So the drawing is ready, and our lesson has come to an end. By learning how to draw leaves on your paper sheet, you can later use your acquired skills to create an autumn picture with a landscape or still life.

Drawing tree leaves with children should begin by studying their shape. The most convenient time for this is summer and especially autumn. After all, in autumn the leaves become so beautiful, colorful. And do not tear them from the trees - the leaf fall itself throws such beauty under our feet!
Compare the leaves of several tree species with children, find similarities and differences in them.

Different, of course, the shape of the sheet plate. And the similarity is that almost all leaves are symmetrical about their center. This center is the vein into which the cutting passes. Smaller veins depart from this main vein to the left and to the right, very small from them. The location of these small veins on the leaves of different tree species can vary greatly.
Consider the leaf plate and try with the guys to determine which geometric shape the leaf is most like: an oval (oak, alder), a triangle or a “heart” (linden, birch, poplar), a thin and long rectangle (willow), etc.
To help introduce children to different trees, a tabletop will help you
We draw this geometric shape, in the center we divide it with the “main” vein, which passes into the stalk.

Along the edges we outline the cloves, as on a leaflet. And then color the leaf.

When painting leaves with paints, it is better to start from the edges. Outline the leaflet with paint of a suitable color, and then paint over the entire leaflet with smooth lines from the edges to the center. The veins should usually be slightly lighter in color. Here is a "tricky" way to highlight these places. Take a clean brush, moisten it with water and swipe it on the areas you want to see lighter. Take a paper towel and gently press down. The ink will be absorbed into the loose paper, and light spots or stripes will remain on the drawing.

Oak leaves - step by step drawing with children

An oak leaf is a rather strongly elongated oval, and closer to the handle it becomes narrower. The edges of the leaf are like waves.

Maple leaves - step by step drawing with children

The maple leaf is one of the most difficult for children to draw. Even a “simple” geometric figure into which this leaf can be entered presents a certain difficulty. This is a polygon. The thing is that the maple leaf has as many as five “main” veins. They diverge like an open fan from one base point. And around each such vein is, as it were, its own independent leaflet. The edges of the leaf are also difficult - these are sharp teeth, and between them there are smooth lines-hollows.

Branch with lilac leaves - step by step drawing with children.

Drawing branches is already a difficult artistic task for children. Before proceeding with its implementation, carefully examine the branch and ask the children to say how many leaves are on the tree, are they all the same size? And the colors? Pay attention to the fact that the leaves are directed differently relative to the branch. Drawing branches with leaves in any case involves working with perspective, so it is more suitable for school-age children. You can draw with preschoolers.
