It's snowing coloring page for kids. Painting with watercolors in the snow

28.02.2019

So we took the paints in hand, and ... there was no white snow!

If you are tired of looking at monochrome snowy expanses, it's time to make the World colorful. How? Very simple! On the snow, as well as on paper, you can draw, but there are no restrictions on the format here. Call the kids and go outside with paints. A fun creative walk is guaranteed!

You can paint ready-made snow sculptures, reviving Santa Claus, a snowman and hares, “plant” bright flowers along evenly packed paths near the house or leave congratulatory inscriptions under the neighbors' windows. And also, be sure to try to color the icicles - it turns out very elegantly. We hope our ideas and tips will inspire you to create your own masterpieces.

Training

To draw in the snow, you will need several plastic bottles of water tinted with ordinary gouache or watercolor paints. Small holes need to be made in the bottle caps. You can insert straws for cocktails into them. Ready! Let's get creative.

Tips:

In order not to spill the contents during transportation, screw the water bottles with ordinary caps, then replace them on the street with leaky ones.

For children under 4 years old, it is better to take small bottles (no more than a liter). A two-liter bottle is difficult for a baby to hold.

Easy to use spray nozzle.

When choosing the proportion of paint / water, do not overdo it with the dye. At a high concentration of paint, the liquid may not pour out well, at a low concentration, the color will be unsaturated.

How to draw in the snow

Find a suitable clearing or flower bed near the house and let your imagination run wild. Previously, the future "canvas" can be tamped, then the jet of colored water will not "fall through" into the snow. If the artist is too small and inexperienced, start with regular paint spraying. For example, you can paint snowdrifts with spots or stripes, draw cells, peas, just colored blots.

If a artistic ability combine mother and baby, more complex pictures can turn out. The main thing is to create a masterpiece together, making our contribution and in a good mood.

If you manage to find icicles in your reach, don't miss your chance! Paint them with a brush, and the winter landscape outside the window will not look dull and gray.

Mom is unlikely to allow eating ice cream in severe frost, but making a “pretend” popsicle on a stick is possible. Decorate it with colored icing even a baby can do.

Graffiti in the snow

And finally, to finally encourage you to create snow masterpieces, - professional drawings in the snow by Croatian artist Lunar. He makes the winter a little brighter, his colored, but, unfortunately, short-lived works make people smile and look at the snowdrifts differently.

Snowy winters and more bright colors!

The topic "what color is snow" is another kindergarten, to my mind. At least, I remember that I conducted such a lesson for the kids. And they confidently answered me that the color of snow is NOT white.

However, in the works of adults, I now and then come across extremely unpicturesque solutions using pure white and gray monochrome colors from a mixture of white and black.

So how to draw snow in a landscape? What color is snow if not white?

Let's leave aside the jokes about yellow snow and the sadness of ecologists about black snow, let's turn to elementary knowledge of physics and optics. And let's see how this problem, the selection of the color of snow for the picture, is solved by the artists.

But first, I'll give you a disclaimer -

In which case SNOW CAN BE DESIGNED PURE WHITE

If we talk about painting, that is. painting with opaque paints and materials: oil, gouache, acrylic, pastel, and if you mean exactly realistic painting(not decorative, where pure white is acceptable), then purely White color from the tube should be used with extreme caution.

In paints, the tonal range is much smaller than in nature. That's why taken for pure white or bright glare or, if we take the teachings of Krymov, a white wall illuminated by the bright sun.

Snow in its structure is somewhat different from the wall (I will talk about this below), so you should not draw it with pure white. At the very least, such areas in the picture should be justified by something.

A. Savrasov "Village in winter", 1880-1890

And that's where let's say pure white, so it's in watercolor.

Rather, we are not talking here about the use of white ink, but about areas of uninked paper, which takes on the role of pure white.

In this case, watercolor acts as graphic material, and in the schedule it is quite admissible.

Having made this reservation, let us return to painting.

WHAT COLOR TO WRITE SNOW IN REALISTIC PAINTING

Let's look at the pictures famous artists to understand what colors they used to write white snow.

For clarity, I measured the necessary sections in Photoshop and rendered them separately:

A. Savrasov "Winter road"

In this painting by Savrasov, we see that the snow is written in different shades of gray. They are almost achromatic, i.e. contain a minimum of pure spectral color, more white and black.

However pure color in the mixture of these shades is still necessarily present, without it, gray would seem foreign, dead.

So, in this picture, gray has impurities of pink, orange, ocher, purple. (I can't tell you what colors Savrasov mixed, technically you can use different variants, I'm talking about the presence of a hue).

How do you know what pure spectral color is used in a grayscale?

Warm shades in the color of snow, as in this painting by Savrasov, are found in "old" snow, i.e. compressed, dense.

If the snow is fresh, then even in the bright sun it will be rather bluish.

Paul Gauguin "Breton Village in the Snow"

Why blueish?

After all, we know that bright sunlight- warm, and shadows - cold. And white objects in the sun will have a warm tint.

However, snow is a slightly different matter. It is a set of crystals of frozen water. And the crystal, as we know, has facets that reflect light.

A. Kuindzhi "Winter"

So, a ray of light, falling on the edges of these crystals, is reflected many times. And the fresher the snow, the more loose and airy it is, the stronger the light wave is lost in the depths of this snow cover and returns reflected, having lost some of the color waves.

That is why fresh snow differs in color from more mature, packed snow, which will approach ordinary surfaces in its properties.

I. Levitan "March"

If we talk about the color of the shadows in the snow, then they will acquire an even more powerful cold sound.

On a bright sunny day, even a person with poorly developed color perception sees that the shadows have a blue tint.

B. Kustodiev "Skiers"

Winter creative games for children on the street: drawing with paints on the snow and coloring volumetric figures from the snow.

Winter walks with children

In winter, unlike other seasons, there are far fewer opportunities for outdoor activities for children. But you can still come up with something.

We have in the South federal district there is no snow yet. Even the flowers continue to please. But in many parts of our country this year there was already the first snow, and someone has it now, and not the first. Therefore, it is possible that someone will come in handy with the ideas that I will talk about using our last year's snow as an example.

Creative activities with children outdoors in winter: painting in the snow with paints

Painting in the snow has its own characteristics. If for my daughter I took thicker gouache, then for drawing on the snow, the more liquid the paints, the better. Rita painted with a brush with paints directly from the jar, heavily diluting them with water.

But, probably, it will be more convenient for many to pour water heavily colored with paints (gouache, food coloring) into half-liter plastic bottles and take them outside along with special sprayers. Sprayers are sold, for example, in flower shops for spraying flowers. A couple of such bottles little artist should be enough.

You can also make a hole in the cap of the bottle (this is how we made sprinklers in childhood) and draw with a jet of paint by pressing on the bottle.

How to draw in the snow

At first, Rita and I carefully trampled down the place for the future drawing so that the painted snow did not stick to the brush and remained on the drawing, and then painted.

Rose and more flowers

The drawing of the photo on the right was made on a dense layer of snow that formed at the bottom of the box.

Volumetric snow coloring

Rita and dad also did voluminous snow coloring pages. To make them, you need to make snowballs different shapes and different sizes, and of them - men, animals, fairy tale characters, all that is enough imagination and what can be done. And then color them in.

It is not necessary to make them big, like real snowmen. If you don't have the patience for large snow sculptures, you can make them small.

Known to everyone, you can also make it right on the street, making it from a plastic cup covered with snow. This is my daughter's volcano :)

Snow for a child can become an unusual canvas for painting on the street with paints. First you need to choose a theme, it can be anything. For example, "Inhabitants of the Seas." The easiest way to draw on flat snow, so you can pre-tread the snow. However, someone on bumpy snow will be more interesting to draw. Discuss with your child where he wants to draw more.

To play outdoors with paints you will need

To draw on the snow with paints you need:

  1. Snow on the street, playground, in the yard
  2. Paints. It is necessary to dilute gouache with water and pour into half-liter bottles. In the lids, you need to make a small hole with an awl or a heated needle or nail. The thickness of the “brush” will depend on the size of the hole. It is better to make more bottles with different colors, for example, 6 colors
  3. Containers with spray guns, into which the same water with gouache is poured. It is convenient to fill the background of details with a spray gun
  4. Fantasy

What's next?

Draw with your child on the chosen topic. It is best to compose images from simple figures(circles, squares, dashes, etc.)

snow gallery

At the end of the game, invite the child to open art gallery in which his creations will be exhibited
Invite neighbors, family or children from the site to visit the Snow Gallery, act as a guide, at the end of your story, announce that the child (full name) did all this. Applause and praise will be a good reward for the child's work.
