Step by step process of drawing a fish

Materials: landscape sheet of watercolor paper, simple pencil, watercolor pencils, brush, water.

Stages of work:
1. We place the sheet horizontally. In the center we draw the body - we draw a horizontal line, we divide the resulting segment into 4 identical parts. We mark the location of the head - 1 part, 2 parts - the torso, 1 part - the tail.

2. Next, we mark the head, torso, tail with lines. We make markings of the upper and lower fin on the continuation of the line of the head.

3. Draw the outline of the fins. We outline the eye just above the center line in the middle of the head - an oval.
For scales. We outline 5 lines along the vertical, and we reduce closer to the tail of the division.

4. We outline 7 lines horizontally.

We give a finished look to the scales on the body, rounding each rectangle. Erase the vertical construction lines.

5. Draw the eyes and mouth on the head. And in the lower part we paint on the second fin.
6. We draw the eye - blue, the mouth - red, the head - orange.
Scales. We draw the colors of the rainbow sequentially from red to purple with horizontal strokes in the average power of the pencil.

7. Fins and tail. We make a stretch on the fin, repeating its shape from red to orange. The tail is similar.

8. Blur with clean water, gently rainbow on the body of the fish, head and fins.

Colors become richer and brighter.
9. When it dries, we finalize the scales. We perform tone stretching on each scale. From the line of the separating flake, we compact the tone.

10. We shade the background with purple, blue, green, yellow with vertical strokes.

Drawing lessons are a comprehensive development of the child, in which he not only learns the technique of drawing, but also has the opportunity to get acquainted with the world around him and its inhabitants.

In this article we will tell you how to draw a fish with a pencil in stages with children.

The body of almost all fish is oval. A child who is learning to draw a fish should be able to draw it. But the appearance of the oval may vary slightly depending on the type of marine animal. But, as always, we start the drawing with a simple one.

From this article you will learn

Depicting and studying

The image of a fish is very simple. Children can draw like this from a young age.

The first thing a fish consists of is its long oval body. At this point, you can tell the baby about where the fish live and about their body structure. If the child already knows this, let him say how it differs from another animal. Meanwhile, an oval appears on the paper.

The second step is to make a fish head and tail from the sides of this figure. To do this, one side is slightly lengthened. This will be the head. It is separated from the body by special plates that cover the gills of the fish. Explain that this is their respiratory organ.

You need to draw the tail of the fish on the opposite side of the oval. It will be a continuation of the oval and therefore slightly expanded towards the end. While we draw the tail, we tell that this organ helps this aquatic animal to move, turn and regulate the speed of movement.

The next thing to draw is the main components of the head:

  • eyes;

Do not forget about the additional fins that are on the back of the animal and on the bottom of the abdomen. Finishing the drawing, make the final touches on the image with a pencil. All! The simplest image of a fish is ready in stages. You can supplement the drawing with algae and other marine inhabitants.

Next time, invite the baby to portray the fish himself and do not forget to prompt and praise the baby for his efforts.

Having such practical knowledge of the image of fish, it will not be difficult for a child to draw other inhabitants of the water world in the future. For example, a pike is drawn from an initially longer oval, since its body is more elongated.

But the flounder, on the contrary, is distinguished by a rounded body and small fins. Goldfish are distinguished by the presence of a more fluffy tail, which hangs down beautifully.

More detailed step by step drawing

A more detailed drawing can begin to be practiced with children who are confident with a pencil. It's not hard to do it step by step. Therefore, arm yourself with a sheet of paper and pencils and start drawing a fish. In total, the image will turn out in six steps.

  • On the left side of the paper, draw a fish face and, starting from it, draw a smooth line, slightly raised to the top, and then smoothly descending. We managed to draw the back.
  • Let's return to the muzzle: we lead its lower part, forming a mouth. The line smoothly passes into the gills, thereby separating the head of the fish.
  • From the gills, a line of the abdomen is drawn. You need to draw it so that it goes symmetrically to the already depicted back. The upper and lower lines of the back and abdomen converge slightly towards the end, but do not connect.
  • Next, a fin is drawn with a pencil on the back at the place where the back lowers. He is the largest of all. The lower fin must be drawn in the place where the line of the abdomen begins to rush to the top line. In size, the lower fin is slightly smaller than the upper, but also quite large.

  • You need to draw further the tail, which is a continuation of the lines of the abdomen and back. We finish the fish with a beautiful tail.
  • The final touch is drawing the eyes, additional fins near the gills. Drawing scales all over the body, except for the head. Shading the fins and tail with a pencil.

It's so easy to draw a fish. For children, this lesson may seem difficult, but with a little practice, it will turn out very quickly and beautifully.

Image of a swordfish

The underwater world is very diverse. There are many fish here, so children may want to learn how to draw a swordfish. She is a fast swimmer and has an agile body. Its speed can reach 130 km per hour. But its main feature is considered to be a long nose, which is similar to a sword. Because of this, the fish was named so.

We start drawing with the body, which is depicted as a curved oval, narrowed at the end - this is the tail. It is small, short and wide. The dorsal fin is high, pointed and not wide. The two lower fins are the same.

Next, you should gradually draw the face. We remember why this fish was called a sword - we make a long nose. We draw gills and round eyes. The body of the fish must be divided lengthwise into two identical parts with a slightly noticeable line. The top should be darker than the bottom. This is her feature.

The final touch is removing extra lines with an eraser and shading the torso with a pencil. That's how quickly we depicted this marine animal.

Dear friends! This article contains two sections:

Section 1. How to draw a fish with children- by preschoolers with paints using an unusual template technique - with examples of children's drawings and step-by-step recommendations.

Section 2. How to draw a fish in more complex techniques: in the technique of monotype, gel pen, simple pencil. These techniques will also be of interest to both children and adults.

I wish you an interesting journey into the world of drawing and into the world of nature! 🙂

How to draw a fish step by step Master class for children

Magic transformation of a droplet into a fish

The head of the children's circle, technology teacher, reader of the "Native Path" and participant in our Game Workshop "Through the game - to success!" tells how to draw a fish with children of different ages! Vera Parfentiev. The article contains drawings of the pupils of her circle.

Stage 1. We prepare templates for drawing a fish

How you can draw with children using cardboard templates and at the same time develop imagination and creativity, what a template is, we already told in the previous article "Drawing with children according to a template". And today we will tell you how in the same technique with children you can draw a fish.

Today, as a template, we will take the shape of a droplet. To do this, we will pre-cut templates in the form of a droplet of different sizes from lightweight cardboard (this can be a postcard, a box of sweets, a cover from a notebook).

Stage 2. We make a fish from forms. Draw the body parts of the fish

We distribute templates to children and give a creative task: to make a fish from the given shapes.

How the children completed this task, I will show examples of their drawings. Children will make different versions of the fish by turning the templates in different directions. Their imagination is limitless.

But if the child has difficulty, it needs to be prompted with leading questions (look at pictures of live fish or drawings from a book with fish. name the details of the body of the fish: head, tail, fins, gills, scales, eyes, mouth). Do not try to give a ready-made solution to the child, try to push him to independent thinking and action.

Sample questions for dialogue with children about how to draw a fish:

What are the parts of a fish?

What part of the fish is the largest? So, you need to start drawing a fish from it (the child chooses the largest template and circles it with a pencil).

- How is the head of the fish connected to its body? It is connected to the body motionlessly, i.e. body and head are fused. So how should you draw a fish? It is necessary to draw a line on the body - outline the head.

What organ does a fish see with? Yes, a fish sees with its eyes. Therefore, on the head of the fish you need to draw an eye.

- What part of the fish performs the function of the steering wheel (this is the tail fin, especially when the fish turns sharply, it creates a force that pushes the fish forward). What droplets are suitable for the tail? Circle them.

Why does a fish need a mouth? (The mouth is essential for capturing and processing food and passing water through the gills.) Choose the smallest droplets and circle them.

What is the function of the lateral fins in fish? (these are auxiliary organs for the movement of fish in the water). Try to draw the lateral fins of the fish using templates.

Stage 3. Coloring the fish

Choose paint colors and paint all parts of the fish. With blue and white paint, draw water around the fish. Draw air bubbles with dark blue paint.

You can draw a fish in this way in a team of children of different ages (a circle of different ages, in a family with preschool children of different ages). Here is how the children drew the fish. Pay attention to what different fish they got!

Since the “Native Path” is read by families with children of different ages, I decided to supplement Vera’s master class with other ideas for drawing fish with older children. With the help of the videos below, you can draw a beautiful fish, even if you have not drawn before - by yourself or with children. And use your drawing to illustrate a fairy tale or cartoon, for pictures, playing finger theater or picture theater.

Download lesson materials on drawing a fish

We take a yellow wax crayon and draw an oval. If the baby is not yet confident in himself, draw an oval with a simple pencil until it works out. All sketches with a simple pencil are made with a light movement, without strong pressure. The line from the pencil should be thin so that in case of failure it can be erased with an eraser without a trace.

As soon as the oval turned out, we carefully decorate it with the same chalk. We separate the head from the body with an arc, which will be in place of the gills of our fish. You can make gills and scales in a different color. We draw each scale separately, we strive for the same rounded shapes. Scales will have to work hard. The child will need to be patient.

When everything is ready, draw an eye with black chalk. In red we draw sponges (like a turned heart), fins and a tail.

When the fish is completely drawn, we prepare the watercolor. In this work, we can turn on the imagination and add different colors when we draw water. For this we will choose blue, blue, purple, green. We dilute them in the palette with a large amount of water, for each color its own recess. We take a large brush, dip it into the cell with the selected color, so that the pile of the brush is well saturated, and with horizontal lines, moving from left to right, paint over the sheet. Apply each subsequent line next to the previous one. Apply them easily and quickly so that the paint does not have time to soak and dry. Watch how the water paint will spread, creating beautiful patterns.

Children often try to depict colored fish in their albums. But usually they turn out similar to each other. But in nature there are many different fish. We want to tell you how to draw a fish of one kind or another according to simple descriptions.

Instruction:

Learning to draw a goldfish

  1. The body shape of a goldfish is an oval. Having drawn it, draw a head on the torso with an arched line, and on it an eye and a mouth with thick lips.
  2. From above, add a fin in the form of a large comb.
  3. The lower fins and tail are long and wide.
  4. Gently cover the entire body, except for the head area, with scales. They must be drawn especially carefully, reducing in size on the back and near the tail.
  5. Now go to work with colored pencils.
  6. The fins and belly of the fish are red.
  7. The body is yellow with white areas in the middle, which create the effect of shine, a play of light.
  8. The eye is black. Shade the very edge of the abdomen with a narrow black stripe. It will add volume to the body of the fish.

Learning to Draw a Swordfish

  1. The body of the fish is a sword long and flexible. Therefore, take an elongated oval as the basis of the body, and draw a curved axis inside it. And, repeating its lines, outline the body of the animal.
  2. In the middle of the forehead of the fish, draw a needle-shaped horn, on the head a small eye and a narrow deep slit of the mouth.
  3. The tail should be shaped like a month.
  4. Draw the dorsal fin like a horn.
  5. The fins on the abdomen are small, teardrop-shaped.
  6. To draw a fish in color, pick up pencils in blue shades.
  7. Shade the upper half of the body with a rich blue. And shade the belly only slightly, leaving it almost white.
  8. Make the fins and tail also bright blue.

How to draw a guppy fish

  1. Drawing a guppy fish is not at all difficult. Her body is a small oval in shape, slightly flattened from above and below.
  2. The caudal fin is large, shaped like a fluffy skirt.
  3. The dorsal fin is wavy and irregularly shaped.
  4. The eyes are medium. Draw a tightly compressed mouth with a small line.
  5. The lateral fin is triangular. Belly - narrow, long.
  6. Carefully cover the body of the fish with small scales. Draw black streaks on the tail and fins.
  7. For coloring guppies, pencils of all colors will come in handy. Shade the body with gray yellow colors. And paint the tail and fins with all the colors of the rainbow as your fantasy tells you.

How to Draw a Clown Fish

  1. Draw the body of a clown fish as an oval, pointed from the side of the muzzle, and on the opposite side turning into an almost round tail fin.
  2. Draw the dorsal fin in the form of a comb.
  3. The lateral and ventral fins depict an irregular shape with rounded corners and frequent veins.
  4. Separate the head of the fish with a wave-like line. And on it draw a small black eye and a narrow mouth.
  5. Draw five more transverse wavy lines along the body of the clown fish.
  6. We described how to draw the fish itself. Now let's move on to working with color. There is nothing complicated here. Use red and black pencils.
  7. The tail, all the fins and the head of the clown fish are bright red. And the body is striped - white - red.
  8. To add volume to the body, slightly shade
