Arriving to apply for a Stromynka, we saw that the building was very decent, but don’t rejoice too early, we didn’t go into many offices that are equipped for first-class children and a ladies’ room, in which you can’t open your eyes just because of the smell. Since I chose the faculty of the creative plan, the choice fell on the faculty of the Higher School of Music. A. Schnittke. Now I understand that the best option for me at that moment was to hang myself than to go there. The admissions committee said that we would have all the disciplines that are taught in musical institutions, that is, solfeggio, music. art; also sang a song about two languages at a good level, wonderful ped. composition, where Maria Katz herself teaches. (she has 4 people from the whole faculty) Attention! There are no budget places in many directions, and if there are, then 2-3. Now about reality: you will study two or three times a week, realizing that you are degrading every day; if there is one or two normal academic vocal teachers, then don’t even hope for normal pop vocal classes! You stupidly teach yourself songs at home, vocal lessons are constantly canceled, there is absolutely no progress. But you participate in a million events of the Russian State Social University, praise this university. If you do not come to the events, a reprimand to the whole group. The most important thing: as soon as you step over the threshold on September 1, for two whole weeks you will be programmed that this is the best university, that as many as 80 people are studying on exchange in Europe (and it's okay that these 80 people out of 14,000 students) , show various circles, and then study will begin and the most “smart” will turn into activists who will come to the university not to study, but to organize events. Certification, frankly, passed by a miracle. All students (at least of our faculty) were forcibly, so that the “bosses”, so to speak, did not scold, they were forced to clean up the university, to delve into the documents that had lain on the shelves since 2004. N.I. Anufrieva is the 8th wonder of the world, I don’t know how this woman is still sitting in her place, but directly humiliating you, getting personal is her only talent; most of the teachers left because of her. N. S. Yushchenko is a pop vocal teacher who has no musical education, most of her students (not counting those who came to the university with good vocal abilities) cannot get into notes by the end of the 4th year. About employment. Of course you will work... in Rgsu, like all the greats. In general, guys, dear, do not come here, I PLEASE! Spare yourself, your heads, your parents' money, your precious time.
It will be about the Faculty of Management, where I entered to study in the summer of 2016. For obvious reasons, I will not disclose my specialization, I will say that training is conducted in a similar vein in all areas of the faculty.
The advantages include the good infrastructure of some university premises. There are good audiences, classrooms, repairs have been made. Another thing is that these things do not affect the quality of education, which remains at an unsatisfactory level.
Let's move on to the disadvantages. They are in any university, of course, only here they exceed all available standards:
1. Disgusting work of the dean's office.
If something happens to you and you need to find out something, then be prepared for the fact that with a probability of 85% you will not be able to find out the answers to your questions. The dean's office does not systematically answer the phone from 9 am to 6 pm, although they have a huge number of additional numbers. Deans of other departments (Stromynka, Losinoostrovskaya) respond normally and without expectations.
I also strongly recommend that you read all the laws in advance, because the dean's office themselves do not understand how education is built and what rights students have. There was a case when the employees of the dean's office stated that I could not make a social deduction, although, by law, I have every right to do so. Accordingly, certified copies of the license were not given to me in my hands.
Separately, I’ll say about receipts for tuition fees: keep ALL copies in huge quantities, because the dean’s office loves to “lose” them and demand tuition fees, even if you paid everything on time and brought confirmation.
2. Meaningless items in the schedule.
In order to stretch the study time, countless subjects are added that are not related to your specialty. To some extent, they could be useful for horizons, only these pairs are less than the fingers on one hand, and they all end with exams and tests with very high requirements.
3. Electronic learning system LMS.
An unfinished and raw site where teachers ask to dump work. There is no sense in 90% of the tasks, as well as adequate assessment criteria.
There were stories when this system crashed on the day of the exam and the teacher could not mark the students. As a result, the teacher put them from the bulldozer. By the way, most of the group does not take any part in the classes and does not complete the tasks. Some of these "activists" received good grades, while the guys who worked normally got triples and could not justify them in any way.
By the way, the dean's office loves to lose student's records, so don't be surprised that the diploma may not contain the grades that you earned or expected.
Here I strongly advise you to keep track of absolutely all the marks that you receive: save statements, ratings, even works. In the form of photographs, or copies, so that you can defend your position in a critical situation.
4. Low quality of knowledge, lack of prestige of the university.
My own sister studied at this university, not the faculty of journalism, several years ago. Then a huge scandal broke out due to the fact that some of the doctors / candidates were awarded academic titles on the basis of the RSSU on works that were completely borrowed from other people. That is, they took entirely someone else's work and only changed the name there. You can read this story (Dissernet's investigation) on the Internet, there is a lot of confirmed information.
There is an opinion that RSSU is a very prestigious university. In fact, it is not included in any objective university rankings, except for those that are posted on third-rate sites, where the RSSU will inapplicably take a place higher than the Higher School of Economics, the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia or some more or less worthy institution. The situation of such "success" lies in marketing, as in Synergy - articles, reviews, awards are bought. This is quite common in the field of cinema, music, business, so there is nothing to be surprised here.
In vacancies in a company with a big name, you can find items with education. Employers are asking graduates of Moscow State University / RANEPA to respond, there are even technical universities, but so far none of my friends have come across a vacancy from the RSSU.
5. No tie-ins with big brands and employment and practice organizations
All major universities have partnerships with branded companies, organizations that can accept you for practice and even work.
For example, graduates of the humanities areas of Moscow State University are very fond of taking in the field of PR / advertising, MGIMO - diplomacy and international relations, HSE - in the media sphere and journalism. At RSSU, you can be offered vacancies for salespeople with a salary of 25,000 rubles (they are posted on their website). There are no internships and internships, since you will be doing it at the RSSU. Summer practice takes place in the introductory commission of the RSSU under the GPC agreement. Often, such interns mislead applicants, tell stories about the prestige of the university. Many students are forced to volunteer in exchange for points. It is clear that this is not officially regulated in any way, but refusal can pretty spoil your grades.
Bottom line: I have been studying for the third year at this "university". The attitude of the university towards students is bestial. It doesn't matter if you study on a paid basis or on a budget, RSSU is not a "social" university, but, on the contrary, an anti-social university that will make you doubt your own abilities and prospects.
A separate point for people who experience difficulties in paying for tuition: if you yourself pay for tuition in conditions of financial difficulties (you have a low salary, you have mortgages, loans), and you expect quality from education, then it is better to look at other universities. Get ready for the fact that you will have to think about this university very often, about resolving any issues that should not concern you in any way, since this is the responsibility of the university under the contract that you have concluded.
If you want to study for the sake of a diploma (like I study for the sake of management) and the material question is not a problem for you, then you are welcome. But remember that at any time you can be on the list for deductions.
