Exactly one year ago Sardor Milano(24) won first place in the project " main stage» TV channel « Russia 1". Since then, his life has been scheduled by the hour - concerts, tours, interviews and flights. Sardor told PEOPLETALK about his victory, love for Freddie Mercury and the new musical genre neoclassical.

I was born in Tashkent in 1991. I have Eastern European roots. I was brought up in the best traditions of the East. If a person is at least one minute older than me, I will address him as “You”. This is how I address my parents as well. And sometimes it happens, I just want to show respect and call someone "You", even if the person is younger than me.

At the age of 13, I moved with my parents to Alma-Ata, where I won my first music competition, the chairman of the jury was the People's Artist of Kazakhstan Roza Rymbaeva(58). I started singing at the age of six. My parents noticed that I had hearing and took me to a music studio. Inspired me since childhood Michael Jackson(1958–2009). I grew up on the songs of his band Jackson's Five, at live concerts of the group Queen and disks George Michael(53). My parents had impeccable taste in music, although they are very far from the world of music - they are both managers. My grandmother also had an influence, who addicted me to songs Alla Borisovna Pugacheva(67). It's funny to realize that at the age of eight I already knew who they were. Elena Obraztsova(1939-2015) and Svyatoslav Belza (1942–2014).

As a teenager, I had some popularity in the CIS, then I sang songs by an Italian artist Robertino Loretti(68). I was sometimes even compared to him. He gained worldwide popularity as a teenager, and then his voice broke. This is a normal process - a young man turns into a man. After Robertino's voice changed, he rarely sang. I knew that someday this would happen to me. And this moment came at the age of 14-15. I shut up for two years. During the mutational period, I not only didn’t want to sing, but sometimes I didn’t want to talk ... Fortunately, I didn’t have depression - my parents provided great moral support. That's why I graduated from a music college in piano in Alma-Ata - I could not sing, but I understood that I simply do not exist without music. And my hands did not fail me, I mastered the heavy program Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Chopin. But when the mutational period of the voice ended, I decided to enter the conservatory as a conductor.

I took preparatory courses and had to be able to read sheet music and sing it. When I came to class, the teacher invited me to sing. And I sang. She said: "You have an amazing baritone with a beautiful color, you need to start practicing vocals." This is the same as recovering from a fracture - you learn to walk again. So here. And I got into shape so quickly that two months later the professor in Tashkent said: “Sardor, you need to go to study in Moscow, in Gnesinka.” This served as such a strong impulse that I really packed up and went to the capital. My parents set a condition for me: either I enter the best university, or I return to my homeland, to Tashkent. And I entered the pop-jazz department, graduated from the academy a year ago with a red diploma.
I got on the show "Main Stage" quite by accident. Before that, I had already had several failures - I did not pass the selection for various popular vocal television projects. So I went to the Main Stage, roughly speaking, out of desperation. It so happened that I was appreciated by Konstantin Meladze (53), and also strongly supported by Yuri Antonov (71). After the end of the project, Antonov gave me his personal prize - an exclusive studio microphone, which he purchased at an auction. I don't use it to record songs, I keep it like a trophy. ( Laughs.) And I won the audience vote, took first place. Nobody expected me to win. Everyone was surprised! I sing neoclassical. This is a new concept in Russia and the world - popular music combined with classical music. That is, it can be a completely pop song, but it will contain parts of the violin and double bass. Or opera vocals.

After the project, I signed a contract with Konstantin Meladze, together we released a song Grazie in Italian. Text written Lilia Vinogradova(48), which works with Lara Fabian(46). But then, unfortunately, it so happened that our paths diverged. Now I have a manager who lives in America - he represents my interests around the world. After " main stage“My life has changed dramatically. This is a "waking up famous" story.. I felt my popularity in my hometown, I started concerts with which I traveled to many countries. Every country I visit has an impact on me, I feel like I am changing. Just recently I returned from London. He sunk into my soul.

By the way, I am the first artist from the CIS countries who gave an interview live to the American television channel NBC. My performance on Main stage» saw a popular producer Tim Koons who once revealed to the world Backstreet Boys, showed it to the NBC producers and contacted me. I have some kind of karmic connection with Freddie Mercury(1946-1991). Firstly, he also has Eastern and European roots. His real name is Farrukh. His zodiac sign is Virgo, so am I. He died in 1991, and I was born that year. I don't think it's just that. On the "Main Stage" in the final, I performed his song Barcelona, which he sang with Montserrat Caballe (83). We "revived" Freddie - I performed with his hologram and performed the part of Caballe. I even felt his presence next to me. It was a firework of emotions.
Relations in the modern world are given very hard, it seems to me that their value has been lost. When a couple breaks up, people don't have to unfollow each other on social media - they won't even yearn for each other. I think I learned what true love is at the age of 17. Oddly enough, I still often see and communicate with this girl. Recently we talked and opened up. She said: "You are the perfect model for the man I would like to have next to me in the future." And she is my guide. Many people say that looks don't matter. I, unfortunately, am not one of those. For me, it is important to “imprint” first. She doesn't have to be a perfect 90-60-90 beauty. But if I looked at her and realized that I like her even with her flaws, then this is the right guide. I don’t know if there is such a concept in principle, but aristocratic modesty is very important to me. It seems to me that they are born with this quality. A girl may even look bright, but be modest inside. I really love the Oktyabr cinema, Kamergersky Lane and Chistye Prudy.

Biography

Sardor Milano was born on September 1991 in Tashkent. The real name of the singer from Uzbekistan is Ishmukhamedov. Parents had nothing to do with music: grandfather, Uzbek film director Elyer Ishmukhamedov, father - a teacher of Russian at a university. His musical talent manifested itself at a very early age. From the age of 6, Sardor studied vocals and performed in the Aladdin children's show group. When the young singer was ten years old, he was entrusted with one of the leading roles in the production - the musical "Island of Dreams". Four times the boy became a laureate of the Umid Yulduzlari music festival in Tashkent. In 2004 (12 years old) he took part in the international competition "BOZTORGAI" in Kazakhstan, Almaty and won the highest Grand Prix. In the same year, he became a laureate of the Uzbek contest "Yangi avlod". At the age of 12, after moving with his parents to Alma-Ata, Sardor performed on stage in Kazakhstan along with famous Kazakh performers (Roza Rymbaeva, Bibigul Tulegenova). At the age of 15 there was a breaking of the voice. He fell silent for two years, and then he had to learn to sing again. Here he graduated from the theater college in piano, preparing for a career as a pianist. After that, the family returned to Tashkent. Having received a certificate of completed school education, Sardor went to Moscow in 2010. From the first attempt, he managed to enter the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, becoming an applicant for its pop-jazz department. Sardor Milano graduated from the Gnessin Academy in 2015 in the class of pop-jazz vocals with honors.

Professional activity

His grandmother (Milovanova) had a great influence on his musical tastes, who revealed to her grandson the work of Alla Pugacheva, Svyatoslav Belza and Elena Obraztsova, Michael Jackson and George Michael. In 2004, Sardor Milano received the Grand Prix at the Yalta Star Crimea competition, and a year later he won the main prize of the Shining Stars festival in St. Petersburg. Back in school (2007), the musician released his first English-language solo album called All I wish. In 2011, the debut video for the song was released stop. A video for the song was released in 2012 Believe, written specifically for the qualifying round of the Eurovision Song Contest, with this composition Sardor Milano reached the final round of the selection. Sardor Ishmukhamedov was a diploma winner of the international contest of pop song performers "Vitebsk-2013" (Belarus), where he performed on the first day with the national song "Khai yor-yor", and on the second day he performed the famous song of the singer Muslim Magomayev "Give me back the music". At the beginning of 2015, the Russian talent show for young musicians "Main Stage" started, where, under the leadership of Konstantin Meladze, he won the main prize - a tour throughout the country. In 2015, the singer gave an interview on NBC in the USA and participated in a creative meeting in Tashkent together with Sabina Mustayeva as part of the IV National Information and Library Week "Infolib-2015" at the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi. In January 2016 in Tashkent, on the stage of the Istiklol Palace of Arts, Sardor Milano participated in the New Year's musical based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen "The Snow Queen". In 2016, Sardor Milano passed the casting for the popular Voice (TV show, Russia) on Channel One. On September 30, 2016, Channel One aired the next edition of the “blind auditions” of the fifth season of the Voice show, in which Sardor performed Cherubino’s aria from the opera

The singer revealed to the Sputnik correspondent the main intrigue that excited the imagination of his fans for several months. The fact is that the Uzbek media not so long ago spread the news about his first solo concert, which will be held in Tashkent. But no specific date has yet been announced.

surprise everyone

We hasten to inform you that the concert will take place on November 27 at the Istiklol Palace, accompanied by the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. Here is what Sardor told Sputnik about this and much more.

What are you preparing for the concert?

- The program will be very diverse, I want to surprise everyone. Of course, it is mostly neoclassical. I am very glad that I will be one of the first modern performers who will give this amazing style of performance to my compatriots and guests of Uzbekistan. So hurry up to the concert. I promise it won't leave anyone indifferent.

Photo from the personal archive of the singer

- Previously, you were often called "Jamaica" because of the magnificent performance of the song of the same name. Will you sing it on the stage of "Istiklol"?

- I don’t know, maybe I’ll sing if my old fans ask me. After all, the story with this composition has been going on for many years, since my studies at the school-studio "Aladdin". The song that Robertino Loretti performed is also my own chapter in my musical career. God, that was 15 years ago when I first performed it.

Early glory

— After all, you started making music very early — from the age of six in the Aladdin studio. You didn't really have a real childhood. Don't you regret?

“I spent my entire childhood studying. The schedule of the seven-year-old Sardor was as follows: in the morning school, then a music school in piano, then the Aladdin show group, vocal lessons, choreography, acting skills. In addition, enhanced English lessons. And in addition to all this, a wide concert activity, as a child I already performed at high-level events in Tashkent, toured the republic, and even went beyond its borders. The days were literally painted by the hour.

My grandmother brought me to Rustam Khamrakulov's studio. And we can say that while I was studying there, she studied with me. My parents were far from music, my mother worked in the tax office in those years, and my father taught Russian for foreigners at one of the Tashkent universities.

My parents have exceptional musical taste. We always had music in the house. And in the late nineties, my mother and father bought a music center. They then, of course, did not suspect that they did not acquire it for themselves. As soon as the microphone fell into my hands, since then the room where he stood has turned into my personal concert hall.

Indeed, many say that I had no childhood, and I believe that this was my happy childhood, I enjoyed such a schedule. There was no time to think about how to fill free minutes. I have always been dedicated to music.

By the way, it was with the performance of "Jamaica", which I sang at the age of 9, that wide popularity began in Tashkent. And at the age of 12 he won the first Grand Prix at the international competition in Almaty. After that I was invited to work in Kazakhstan. And our whole family moved there to live.

- To work at such a high level at the age of 12, it does not fit in my head ...

— Yes, I was lucky to work on stage with such well-known Kazakh performers as Roza Rymbaeva and Bibigul Tulegenova. In total, our family lived in Almaty for six years.

But I was mentally prepared for it. Thanks to the parents, they explained everything in time, prepared for this. Then classical music saved me, which I went to study at the Tchaikovsky College of Music.

I remember that evening when the whole family gathered at the table and wondered what's next? My parents always supported me, so then we all decided together that I would continue my academic studies in music in the piano class. After graduating from college, I returned to Tashkent.

Classical music saved me

— Sardor, you learned what recognition and success are at an early age. Then we lost our voice, we had to radically change our plans. But the hope has not left? How did you find the strength to develop your singing talent again?

- You know, for a while I managed to stop thinking about singing. I was so immersed in Shestakovich, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov that I hoped to take heights here too. But, alas, the miracle did not happen. My time was lost, it is necessary to study music from early childhood, to develop technique. And when I graduated from college, the question arose again, what to do next? After all, until the age of 18, starting at the age of six, my life was devoted to music.

By nature, I am a perfectionist, sometimes I myself suffer from high goals, but it is this quality of character that makes me get up after failures and move on. And it was this feeling that I should be someone in music that prompted me to become a conductor.

I thought, I am tall, I have long arms, I have a special musical education, I can go to study at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan! Then the presence of all this seemed enough to become an orchestra conductor. But this is truly a difficult job, and only over time I realized that this is really not my thing.

But since I was used to setting a goal and going towards it, I began to prepare for entering the Conservatory for a class in conducting. The head of the department worked with me, who patiently studied me for exactly two months, intensively preparing me for the entrance exams. But she looked at everything that was happening, as if at an adventure, with a laugh, and each time she said: "Lord, what are you doing? Why? It is clear that this is a dubious matter."

In addition to conducting, this program also included vocal lessons, that is, I still had to sing. And she sent me to the vocal professor at the conservatory, saying sternly that I should still start singing, even if I don’t want to do it.

I remember the moment when I came to Professor Tamara Mamikonyan's office, having not sung at all for two years. She began to play notes and said "sing". Imagine my amazement when, having sung a couple of chords, she issued a verdict: "You have a formed baritone. And even more so now there is a shortage of baritones. You need to start practicing vocals."

Not even two months had passed since the beginning of our classes, and Tamara Abramovna told me that I had to go to Moscow.

- In Belokamennaya, did you first go to the Gnessin Academy of Music?

- When my teacher recommended that I continue my studies in Moscow, I initially decided that I would enter this particular university. And my parents also pushed me to this, who, having heard that I should go to Moscow to study, said that I should enter the best institution. Later I understood why they set the bar so high, they didn't want to leave Tashkent and hoped that I would fail. But I entered, was the fourth in the list of applicants.

When I returned to Tashkent with this grandiose news, everyone congratulated me, my parents did not. They didn't say anything, but packed their things and moved with me to live in Russia.

Conquest of the Mother See

— In Moscow, you discovered music TV shows. "Main Stage" - this was not the first attempt to break into the world of Russian show business, was it?

- In Moscow, I discovered the opportunity to participate in various castings, but thanks to only one TV show, where I was noticed and appreciated, I was able to show what I was capable of. Unfortunately, there was before the "Main Stage" and the experience of unsuccessful participation in other castings, I will not list them all now. It makes no sense. I was not understood there. And at some point I was so tired of "No, you are not suitable for us" that I bought a ticket to Tashkent, left Moscow in the middle of the school year and came to my homeland. It was a breakdown, and only in Tashkent I was able to find the strength to go further along the chosen path.

You know, I often do this. Namely, here in Tashkent, I am able to truly relax, calm down and think sensibly after the turmoil in my life. The city has a special aura, perhaps because the pace of life here is different. And one more thing - the sun always warms here, and this is important for internal recharging.

That evening, when I returned to my Moscow apartment, I turned on the TV, and there was just an advertisement about the next casting on the Rossiya 1 TV channel. And I again succumbed to emotions and desire to try my hand again.

And then came the day of the audition. I stood in line for eight hours in a row, went to the jury late in the evening. All day I watched either happy faces or tears of despair.

When my turn came, I realized that firstly, you need to stop being cunning, you need to be very honest, many performers fill themselves with clichés, maybe they watch on TV how their idols behave, and think that they need to repeat. But this is an erroneous opinion. It's important to be sincere. Show yourself.

I just went out and said: "Hello, my name is Sardor. I'm from Uzbekistan" and managed to sing only one verse when they suspended me, saying that they were taking on a project.

Filming started two months later. On X day, I was told that there would be four jury members and four producers. I was dumbfounded when I heard their names. Such responsibility, my knees were shaking like never before.

Then I realized that this is very important, why? The best producers of Russia are sitting, people to whom I tried to show myself, but could not, because you just can’t knock on the door to them, but here you can declare yourself in front of everyone in one fell swoop.

- In one of the interviews, you admitted that there was a period when you drank a lot of valerian? Is it while participating in the "Main Stage"?

Yes, I was very nervous at first. At the first stages there was a lot of valerian. After the project, everything changed. Such projects are a good school, a colossal experience for singers. Now nothing scares me anymore.

- Even the fear of dentists has disappeared?

“Oh, you know about that too. Well prepared for the interview. I really still have jitters in front of dentists, although now, due to the chosen profession, I often have to visit them.

And the fear of these doctors appeared in my childhood, at the age of six. The fact is that my dad loved to watch thrillers and once watched a movie, I don’t remember its name, according to the plot, the dentist went crazy and pulled out all his wife’s teeth. But the whole intrigue is that literally a week after watching this film, I had to go to the doctor and pull out a tooth. When I came there, my attending physician was one to one like a character in a thriller. The fear remained for life. But I fight him.

What else do you have to deal with in life?

- With many. There was a period when it was necessary to prove that neoclassicism has the right to be on stage in the CIS countries. Thank God it happened. Now we have to work hard so as not to disappoint the audience.

- And how did your relationship with Konstantin Meladze develop?

Everything is fine with Konstantin. I am grateful to him, it was his support that brought me victory, he believed in me, wrote the composition Grazie for me, the lyrics for which were composed by the famous poetess Lilia Vinogradova, who writes to Lara Fabian in Italian.

Konstantin Meladze presents Sardor Milano with the prize of the TV project "Main Stage"

I had a dream, and after the project, I realized that they come true. I dreamed of working with Konstantin Meladze, singing his songs. And he wrote me this song of my dreams.

- After all, after the "Main Stage" you had another important event, I'm talking about a trip to America.

- After the show, I was really invited to America. The meeting took place with one of the founders of the Backstreet Boys and N Sync, producer Tim Koons. He had a creative break, which he devoted entirely to his family. After almost 20 years, Tim Koons decided to return to American show business. on the Internet, as he admitted to me, I came across my speeches. He listened to them and was surprised. In general, we had a meeting with him this summer. I was even lucky to give an interview to NBC. I hope for further cooperation with him.

Mom is my talisman

— Sardor, you have an amazing relationship with your parents. They support you throughout your creative journey. You once admitted that your mother is your best friend today.

- This is true. Mom gave all of herself to my upbringing, once abandoning her career. For this I am very grateful to her today. Indeed, without this sacrifice of hers, there would be no me as a singer.

— I can’t help but ask you about your famous grandfather, the Uzbek director Elyer Ishmukhamedov, whose last name you had from birth, until one day you became Milano?

— My last name is, indeed, Ishmukhamedov. Milano is a pseudonym that appeared from the abbreviated surname of my grandmother (Milovanova) and a great love for Milan and, in general, for Italy.

We maintain friendly relations with my grandfather. I believe that he is one of the outstanding film directors of Uzbekistan. It can be said that I was not brought up with him, because he went to Moscow when I was born and made films there. I rarely saw him as a child. There are some jerky memories from there when he came to Tashkent, always with his cameraman Vadim Alisov.

Then, when I grew up and came to Moscow, we began to communicate differently with my grandfather. I remember how he told me that it is important to develop spiritually, to read certain literature. He saw the potential of a director in me, he said that if I want to develop myself in this area, he will help. At 15, no one believed in me as a singer, he didn't see it either. But I am grateful for his support, because then I lost my voice. And he, as he could, supported. I remembered it, it was valuable for me that my grandfather responded.

Perfectionist Plans

- You once admitted that those people who turn their plans into reality are happy.

- Yes it is. I am now completely happy, I have realized many plans, and much of what I only silently dreamed about has already happened to me in reality.

True, there are other thoughts. And how without them? This is how we live and move forward.

“Then what else are you dreaming about?”

- I want to sing at La Scala, this is my still unfulfilled dream. I'm sure everything is ahead, don't forget - I'm a perfectionist.

I would also very much like to create an international organization to support adults and children who have been subjected to moral violence. This problem has been bothering me for a long time. I often came across such children, I wanted to support them, give them faith.

Photo from the personal archive of the singer

I don't want to spend my money on business until anyway, maybe it will come later, I don't know. Now before me is the goal of creating this organization. I even came up with a logo for it - it will be dolphins, messengers of goodness. By the way, they also sing, make high sounds, like me (laughs).

In general, my goal in life is to share goodness with people, all my work is also aimed at this. Hence the desire to sing to the people of not one specific country, but to all mankind. Globally? But this is all I am, I set only such goals.

No, it's not autumn🍁.. It's the transition from winter❄️ to spring🌸! Today I wandered around my favorite places, before the concert, which by the way was very warm and enthusiastic! Thank you dear viewer for the reception and applause! ❤️ A busy weekend ahead, interesting meetings and back to California.

“Don’t make yourself an idol.” This phrase was shared with me by my mother a very long time ago, in the context of the fact that my interest in music began with the video of live concerts of The Jackson Five and Michael was my true idol. I still continue to believe that today a “star” has not been born that could shine brighter than Michael. Michael is a phenomenon! I analyzed a lot on this topic, this artist defies logic, analysis, comparisons! He is a revolutionary, the creator of ingenious works that forever changed the musical pop culture. And this is an indisputable fact. He not only went down in history, he created it!
I thought for a long time and apprehensively about whether I should watch “Leaving Neverland” .. And in the end, curiosity won over me ... one - "I do not believe"! I didn’t even want to start watching the second part, but then I wouldn’t be able to soberly assess this film in full and I watched the second part .. And you know, these guys were convincing and I believed them .. First of all, they already have their own families, they are growing up children and I do not think that they would stir up the past and lie, realizing all the responsibility for the future of their children. After all, tomorrow they will be asked questions: “Listen, was it your dad who was connected in history with Michael ...? that everyone began to throw stones at their parents, vehemently condemning them. I'm not going to condemn anyone here, I'll just express my subjective opinion and say that I can't understand the actions of these parents and they have already paid for their mistakes. And Michael ... Michael has long been brought before the main court, the court of God .. in conclusion, I asked myself: “will this story overshadow my attitude towards his contribution to art ?!”. Certainly the song We are the world, we are the children will never sound the same to me. But I decided for myself that in my memory I will retain the image of Michael on stage and all his musical heritage ..

Last week was literally overshadowed by sad events...
I was simply shocked by the news of Yulia Nachalova .. For a long time I could not come to my senses. First of all, I want to express my deepest condolences to Yulia's family and friends. For me personally, Julia was one of the strongest singers in the country. I remember when I began to study vocals, I sang exclusively foreign repertoire, because it was difficult to find a Russian repertoire in which you could reveal the full technical potential of your voice and the song “The Hero of Not My Romance” was almost the only song that I performed in Russian . I am grateful to fate for introducing me to Julia. Julia supported me a lot during the Main Stage, and this support was especially pleasant and valuable to me! She radiated such light and warmth. She had a very bright energy .. It is a pity that fate sometimes disposes of it extremely unfairly! And I want to ask a question .. Why ?! And who to ask it to?.. I hope she is in a better world now.. 💔

My dear and beloved friends! Here comes the New Year! I think you are all already at your beautiful, luxuriously set tables, with the TV turned on, and your loved ones are nearby!💕
I will not "torment" you with a huge speech, I just want to wish you from the bottom of my heart well-being and health and all that you yourself sincerely wish for the new year! May the New Year bring you even more happiness!
Happy New Year! 🎄 🍾🎈
Your S.M

Summing up the outgoing year, I would like to note that the year turned out to be difficult and even “crisis” to some extent, but at the same time it became a “turning point” in personal terms. It feels like I was “not able to swim” and thrown into the ocean, but I “sailed to the shore”. driving from New York to Los Angeles. I am surprised at the courage of my mother ..) She has to "live" my life "at a distance", but she still remains my faithful adviser in important matters.
I was asked recently how would I describe myself in a few words at this stage of my life? Probably so ... Artist of "difficult fate" ..) I chose for myself not an easy, but an independent path. I myself decide when and where I "spread my wings".. The Universe often challenges me and I like to accept these challenges, responding to it with love for life. I just recently learned to love life regardless of the circumstances and enjoy every given moment! The main task of this year (as well as the previous ones) was completed. Stay a "beautiful person". What makes us beautiful? Dignity! No matter how loud this word sounds. But it is very important not to lose "your face", to be humane and grateful.
Let's see what the new, 2019 year will bring?!... I myself am interested ..)
P.s Thanks to those who are still on my side of the shore.❤️ See you soon! Your S.M.

At the blind auditions, a young man with an incredible voice immediately attracted the attention of not only the jury members, but also all the spectators. Unlike other contestants, the artist's face was not even shown to the TV audience. And only after the mentors turned to the singer, many recognized him as the winner of the Main Stage project, Sardor Milano.

After the “Fights”, the performer changed his mentor - Dima Bilan preferred his rival, and Polina Gagarina took the 25-year-old artist to her team. However, in the quarterfinals, she was ready to say goodbye to Sardor, depriving him of his highest mark. But the audience gave Milano the most votes. The semi-finalist spoke in an interview with StarHit about his feelings about participating in the project, his personal life and plans for the future.

You said that you tried several times to get into the Voice project. What did you do this time to please the casting?

It so happened that in the first season I was not allowed to blind auditions. I tried again the next year. Before the mentors, I was supposed to appear on the third day of the selection, but shortly before my appearance on the stage, they announced to us that the teams had already been recruited, and we were invited to the third season. There I got to the “blind auditions”, but no one turned to me. I think that the choice of composition was unsuccessful - I sang "Eternal Love". As it seems to me now, this is not the mood that a young man can convey, here we need the emotions of an older person who has lived enough. After the failure, depression covered me, I began to think about the future. I accidentally found out about the casting for the Main Stage project. But I went there skeptical. To my surprise, the selection passed, everything went well on the show itself - and now I am the winner.

What did you do after winning the project?

I was noticed by producer Tim Koons, who introduced the Backstreet Boys to the world. I was invited to the air of the NBC channel in the USA. Then I returned to Moscow, and I was haunted by the failure in Golos. I wanted to prove to myself that I can make my dream come true.

Changed the repertoire to impress the mentors?

I chose a rather complex composition - Mozart's aria. But it was a shock for me when I found out that this season there would be no Alexander Gradsky as a mentor. I thought: “Who can turn to me now, who will appreciate it?” All hope was on Dima Bilan, since he has a classical education. And so it happened. But when Leonid Agutin also chose me, it was happiness. I understand that Golos is more of a pop project, but if you look at the chronology, those who perform Russian classics win more often. I do not know what it is connected with. Maybe this direction is not so much now, but people do not have enough of it.

To be honest, I abstracted from the comments, it spoils my mood. But there is an intimate circle of people who keep up to date with what they write about me. It's nice when 70% positive feedback. Maybe someone and seem conceited, but I am extremely honest with the audience. It seems to me that I am on the "Voice" in spite of everything. First, Dima Bilan made a choice after the “Duel” not in my favor, after which Polina Gagarina took me to her place. In the quarter-finals, she gave me fewer votes, but the audience saved me.

How did your relationship with Polina Gagarina develop after you joined her team?

It was emotionally difficult for me, but I pulled myself together. Of course, I chose Dima at the very beginning and wanted to go with him until the end of the project. I was worried about how I would be accepted in the new team. I am glad that we managed to work together with Polina, we had more time to get to know each other. But Bilan, unfortunately, did not like it, he simply did not have time. By the way, I recently opened a photo where we are captured by the whole Dima team, and I realized that he had two rescued members.

At “Duels” with Oksana Kazakova, we sang a song that is atypical for me, which has nothing to do with the classics. I remember that one of the winners of the "Voice", Sergei Volchkov, sang in the same manner, but still took first place. I can perform any music, I don't limit myself to any particular genre.

How do you see your future? Do you dream of conquering the opera stage or developing in the pop direction?

I graduated from Gnesinka in the direction of pop-jazz vocals. Only two years did he begin to reveal his potential in classical music. I often visit London, I have certain things related to creativity there. I understand the complexity of the genre in which I sing, and, unfortunately, it is not in demand. Maybe, thanks to international experience, it will be possible to realize my dream.

You are originally from Tashkent, but at a blind audition you said that you are from Moscow. Do you feel like a Muscovite?

In fact, everything was not as it might seem. In the profile that was supposed to be shown before the performance, I said that I was born in Uzbekistan. But the producers of the program decided to make a surprise for the audience, and they did not show my face at the blind audition. Already on the stage, I indicated the location where I am and live at the moment. If you really find fault with words, then I did not say “from Moscow”, but simply “the city of Moscow”. Of course, those who do not like me used it against me, but all my friends and relatives did not attach any importance to this. The Uzbek diaspora supports, compatriots urge those who are here in Russia to actively vote.

How long ago did you move to Moscow?

It happened seven years ago, I was going to enter the Gnesinka. Literally two months before the entrance exams, I decided to go. Parents did not believe, they said: “Well, go, try, you will come back anyway.” But to the surprise of my relatives, I was enrolled, moreover, the head of the department accepted me into my class. Mom, when she found out, sobbed so much. And then it turned out that the whole family moved to Moscow. But I often visit Tashkent with performances. I play the main role in the musical "The Snow Queen", but right after the semi-finals I will fly away.

Where did your pseudonym "Milano" come from?

Sardor is my real name. And "Milano" appeared from the name of my grandmother - Milovanov. For eight years, I transformed it a little, shortened it. Now I don’t even perceive it as a pseudonym, I’ve become so close. Moreover, I love the Italian city of Milan, my dream is to sing at La Scala.
