The creative path of Anatoly Evdokimov began long before the artist created his own show. At first, the artist's performances were solo, creating images of popular artists on stage: Tony Brexton, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, whose beautiful voices broke hundreds of hearts of viewers around the world. Then there was work in the Dream Factory team. And four years ago, Evdokimov created a show where he is an artistic director, a stylist, and a costume designer - in general, everything. At first, Anatoly did not even think that he would make parodies of Rasputin or other domestic show business stars. But after Rasputina, Gurchenko, Piekha, Rotaru appeared. This is how the Divas Show program was born.

In 2010, the composition of the show's artists was updated, and two girls appeared in the men's team - not just professional dancers, but winners of many beauty contests. This decision turned out to be very correct - the show became even brighter and more spectacular, and the male audience appreciated the beauty of the girls. Currently, Anatoly and his show have long stepped over the limits of the club ramp - performances are held in large concert halls with a constant full house.

Having visited Krasnoyarsk, the famous choreographer Anatoly Evdokimov admitted that he was already cramped in the touring format of work. He dreams of his own cabaret theatre. Only for the performance at the International Exhibition Center "Siberia" at the Aurum Party, dedicated to the opening of the exhibition "Jewelry Salon of Siberia", the artists of the most sought-after travesty show in Russia brought 21 suitcases of costumes. Often, concert organizers refuse to invite a star to a performance precisely because of the excess baggage.

Anatoly, in your show you are not so much an artist as a director. Why a parody?

I never thought that I would be doing parody, I definitely didn’t dream about it in my childhood. Everything grew together by chance, independently of me. Once, ten years ago, when I worked as a bartender in a club, my colleagues and I decided to make a surprise at the New Year's skit. And since the roles, in addition to me, were the chef and the administrator, I had to deal with the selection of costumes and some kind of directing. The performance, where the three of us portrayed Tina Turner, Liza Minnelli, Barbara Streisand and other socialites, was seen by the director of the new Moscow club. Since then, I performed in this club every Saturday and Sunday, gathered a team of dancers, and prepared new numbers weekly.

At the time, I didn't know what I agreed to. For a whole year I was spinning without a break. There was not even time to catch myself thinking: “Is this all happening to me?” But they noticed me, they recognized me. The club was elite, the Moscow beau monde gathered there, it was necessary to keep the brand, to raise the level of performances. So there was a whole theater with a huge number of rooms. What we brought today to Krasnoyarsk, for example, (the conversation took place on April 13, -Newslab. en) This, in my opinion - aerobatics. One of our most glamorous and pretentious programs, which included developments over 10 years.

Why did you decide to show it to Krasnoyarsk?

We were warned that the party was closed, elite. Like, guys, you have to try. We did our best: we brought 21 suitcases with us. The organizers were shocked by the excess baggage at the airport.

Does parody as a genre have a future in Russia?

It's hard for me to talk about it, because our work is no longer a parody. This is a show in the tradition of Las Vegas, where a lot of genres are mixed, including theatrical. We even carry lighting and pyrotechnic equipment with us, my dancers are among the best, most in demand in Moscow, many of them work in musicals. A real travesty show is not just "men in skirts".

Well, let's say you have reached this level. Now we need to keep him, but where next? What is the next stage of development, and can a travesty show be called art at all?

Of course you can. I have a dream to make a cabaret in Moscow. I really want to have a stationary platform for work, constant tours are great, but it’s very difficult to travel all the time. And the further the show develops, the harder it is "transported". And we have a huge number of offers, they call every day several times.

The performance fee is often less than the cost of luggage and accommodation. The hospital gives more opportunities for the team.

And what would this theater be like?

According to the principle of "Moulin Rouge", or "Lido". More like Lido. In general, wherever I go, I try to go to cabarets, to clubs where there are travesty shows. I saw how it is organized in Thailand, at what a high level everything is put there: they even have their own transport that brings tourists to the place of performance. Multi-level theatre, gorgeous stage, excellent acoustics. Artists work out two or three concerts a day, everything is put on stream. I want to organize something similar in Moscow and also bet on tourists. But, for now, these are just dreams: too much financial investment is required.

When you work with phonograms of famous artists, there are no problems with copyright law?

Until it comes up. It saves me that the genre of parody is not seen as plagiarism or as using someone else's material for one's own enrichment. Only thanks to this I have the opportunity to take other people's phonograms. In addition, most artists themselves do not mind looking at themselves from the outside. They treat the parody calmly, with humor. How much we work, no one has ever been offended, in any case, Russian pop artists.

They say you are better received abroad than in Russia...

Abroad, in general, everyone is better received, there the audience is more disposed to this. People come to a performance to enjoy, to enjoy. From the very first minutes of the show program, they have fun, shout, hoot. And they don’t sit with such faces that clearly read: come on, show us what you are capable of. It is more difficult for us to rock people. First of all, I am talking about Moscow, it is also comfortable to work in the regions. And in the capital there is a very spoiled public. It is especially difficult to surprise rich people who live somewhere in elite villages. And you need to surprise them if you want to receive new orders. Therefore, before going abroad, I worry less than before a corporate party in the Moscow region.

Is grooming expensive?

Still would! But I am an athlete, so most of the costs are for instructors, gyms, proper nutrition, etc. Not because I love myself so much, just work obliges. If a person goes on stage, he must look perfect. I try to convey this idea to my artists, I swear, even if someone is too lazy to go to the solarium. This is a feature of our artists, by the way, in the West it is a matter of course. In our country, dancers allow themselves to dance with a belly, a bad haircut.

What is your foot size, if not a secret?

No problem with stage shoes?

There used to be, but now, thank God, specialized stores have appeared. It turned out that in Russia there are a lot of women with large feet. Of great help to us are boutiques of stripper outfits, of which there are more and more in Moscow. There you can pick up beautiful, sexy shoes for almost any foot, now you don’t have to order in shoe shops. I still have nothing, most of the guys in the troupe have a size 45 stop, but even for them in these stores there is something to pick up.

Do you communicate with any of your colleagues? Can you name someone as a role model?

Vadim Kazantsev - aka Zaza Napoli, my good friend. He is a very media character, an artist with a capital letter, with a bright head. And I really like that we both understand: one thing is the stage, another thing is life. This is a business in which you need to work with your head, know the structure of the market very well, and so on. The last time I met Alexander Peskov was seven years ago. I treat him with great respect, I think that what he did on the stage in the 90s is a great achievement for our stage. But I still try to navigate foreign shows. My idols are the stars of Las Vegas. There is a lot to learn there.

Do you have a favorite character you are portraying? Which skirt are you most comfortable in?

Tina Turner is my favorite image, my favorite performer, whom I consider flawless. Everything she does on stage is very correct and worthy of all praise. Working with her material is a real treat for me. It is clear that this is someone else's soundtrack, someone else's voice ... But even through it, from me and from the people who are dancing next to me, there is such a surge of energy that the audience always perceive the number with a bang.

Interview with Anatoly Evdokimov, creator and main star of the Divas Show travesty show, before the band's three-year anniversary.

Monday, 21:00. With a bronze tan, blue eyes and a short stylish haircut, Anatoly appeared in Cork. It was impossible to approach the bar, and the tables on two floors were occupied. “I don’t know where you can eat normally,” he explained his choice. “You can, of course, go to another club, but I know that I am hired here.” The travesty show star had to wait ten minutes for the waiter to invite her to a vacant table. Anatoly did not have to be bored, at that time he sent air kisses to his friends, who actually occupied all the tables ...

Three years

Do you know that our birthday is coming soon? May 28 marks our 3rd birthday. They never celebrated, but then they decided to arrange a grand show in Treshka. All my thoughts now are about this, because by this date we are doing a new program. A big, expensive theatrical performance with lots of special effects. There will be many unexpected surprises. The culmination of the evening is the presentation of a photo with an interesting person. And everything will happen once - this will never happen again.

Monsters

There is another surprise! This evening I will be on the same stage with Zaza Napoli. In life, I call him Vlad, for me he is no Zaza. Despite the fact that we have known each other for a long time, we will perform together for the first time. What did it cost to persuade him to perform in the "Monkeys"! Friends say: well, there will be two monsters on the stage! I think that this party will become a serious event in the Russian gay scene.

Stars

Oh, they react differently to my performances! I do not have a goal to ridicule someone, on the contrary, I take the virtues of a particular star and enhance them. And I only use images that I really like. My parodies saw Lyme, Piekha, Gurchenko. "VIA-Gra" just registered backstage when I parodied them. Vaikula liked it too, but the chip with a severed head, that is, the “face of a drowned cabin boy,” somehow jarred her. But she likes the team, we are even friends. In general, we maintain good relations with many stars - our guys have not worked for anyone: Meladze, Varvara, Leshchenko, Moiseev ...

Concerts

There is not a single concert that some incident does not happen. Either the heel will break, or the wig will fly away to the devil knows where, or something else cooler! In such a case, we have our own tricks, all this is a kitchen in which we cook normally. In most cases, the viewer does not see and does not realize that our rubber band has burst or some technical problems. We discuss all the moments with equipment and music in our rider.

Suits

There is no need to prove that we have the most expensive costumes of all the travesty shows in Russia. Yes it is! And here it is impossible to say: a boa costs so much, and a hat costs so much. Creating a separate costume is a whole epic. Day and night, with a needle in their hands, Zaza and our dresser Andrey Ostrosev are poring over them. They have already created more than two hundred masterpieces - and all handmade! If we talk about the price, then only the stones are worth a fortune. We do not use ordinary glass, we have everything from Swarovski. One suit is about $3,000. Now calculate how much it costs only one number in three minutes. And there can be fifteen such exits!

Suitcases

If earlier, four years ago, leaving the house, I took two suitcases with me and got into a taxi, now I have to return home four times. And the suitcases are bought and bought in addition. This trend scares me! When we go to a three-hour performance, we have to buy a whole compartment - we fill it to the top with costumes. I see the loss of a suitcase as a terrible dream. If for a taxi driver who inadvertently takes away one of the bags of suits, the contents will be pleasantly surprising, but will be of no value, then for me this is the loss of a fortune. Each suitcase contains thousands of dollars and many hours of work of the creators.

Rest

It got to the point that in one evening we managed to perform in six places. We started at 5 pm and ended almost in the morning. Thirty seconds to change between numbers, the show itself and an hour to get there. From such a non-stop it was physically difficult, rest was required.

Thailand

I went there at the beginning of the year and I still live under these impressions. Broke the hearts of half of Thailand (laughs). And to be honest, my heart was broken. I was active there. Went on all sorts of tours and excursions. He went diving, rode elephants, climbed mountains, visited caves ...

local travesty

Oh, I don't like that! They are not transvestites, they are transvestites. For Thais, the main thing is to make a chest and effectively transform into a woman. Put on a crown and please the client. They do not attach importance to theatricality: the main task is to get as close to a woman as possible. I don't find beauty in this.

Betrayal

We cannot appreciate bad qualities in a person. The properties of a man and a woman are the same, universal. Recently, I have come to love decency and honesty, as I had to face betrayal. Kindness, intelligence and sincerity are also important to me. And I also don’t like ordinary people who simply approach everything in this life, simplify it - relationships, work. I like those who know how to work on everything, who know how to find their own meaning and philosophy.

Femininity

I did not succumb to the influence of the images that I present on stage. In theory, I could have been carried away to the female side - I would have grown my hair, I would have done plastic surgery, I would have used female manners in life. In fact, I didn't even think about it. Gives some kind of disease. The female image is only on the stage, this is my work. I can abstract from any image, no matter how hard I created it. In everyday life, I am the most ordinary guy. I have retained my courage and like myself in this capacity.

images

I know that in the image of a woman I can please any straight man. I can use my energy - and I will succeed, and he will like it. This is a theater with its own specific task. And if there is an image of a "fucking chick" in the room, I will be it! I can marry Masha Rasputina - and everyone, literally everyone, will want me! But immediately after this image, I will come out already an old, broken old woman with shaking hands. By the way, this is more interesting for me, because this role is more difficult to play than "awesome blonde with tits." I also like to combine extremes in one room. For example, depravity and holiness, youth and old age. Now I'm looking for male roles that can be properly used in our show, so that it does not deteriorate.
