"Star Factory" is the Russian version of the successful television project of the TV company "Endemol"(English Endemol) "Academy of Stars" (English Star Academy). The idea of the project belongs to the Spanish company Gestmusic, which is a branch of the company "Endemol". However, the first country to start broadcasting the project on October 20, 2001 was France. Two days after the program aired in France, a show called "Operation Triumph" (Spanish: Operación Triunfo) aired in Spain.
From that moment on, the show began to spread around the world, including in Russia in 2002. Currently, the Academy of Stars ranks second in popularity after the Big Brother show, the project has gained recognition in the markets not only in Europe, but also in India, the Arab countries and the United States.
Rules
Before the start of the project, a casting takes place, during which the jury of the Star Factory looks through several thousand applicants. When choosing participants, vocal data, appearance, plasticity, artistry are taken into account. As a result, several people get into the project (season 1, 6 - 17 people; season 2.3 - 16 people; season 4.5 - 18 people). In the seventh season of the project, 14 people initially passed, and two more participants (a boy and a girl) were chosen by an audience of six applicants at the first reporting concert.
The guys are settled in the "Star House", where everything that happens around the clock is filmed with hidden cameras (an idea, again borrowed from the Big Brother show). Participants are not allowed to have mobile phones and musical equipment. Also, under the terms of the project, they are prohibited from responding to letters from fans. Every day, project participants must attend classes in choreography, vocals, acting, fitness, psychology and other disciplines. In addition to the main classes, special master classes are held, where the children are taught the basics of mastery by the stars of Russian and world show business. Also, the duties of the participants, in addition to attending classes, include keeping order in the house and cooking. In the seventh season of the project, the participants had to earn money themselves by preparing and conducting independent performances at the concert venue in front of the Star House.
During the week, the First Channel airs the Star House Diaries and once a week (usually on Friday or Saturday evening) - a reporting concert, where the guys show the numbers prepared by them during the week. Usually, Russian pop stars are invited to the reporting concerts, with whom the project participants have the opportunity to sing.
Every Monday, the Pedagogical Council of the Star Factory determines three nominees for elimination from the project. Their selection is based on the teachers' assessment of the creative growth of each of the participants, as well as the results of their performances at concerts. The fate of the nominees is decided during the reporting concerts. One of the nominees is "rescued" by the audience. The first channel through sms-voting, the second is left in the project by comrades, and the third leaves the Star House forever. True, there were precedents when the artistic director or music producer left the retiring participant in the project. The winner of the project receives a recording contract or other similar prize. The project lasts about 3 months.

Evgenia Rasskazova, 36 years old
From early childhood, this bright girl showed a strong-willed character unusual for children and an unquenchable thirst for life. When Rasskazova was 17 years old, she entered the South Ural State University and worked part-time at the same time, speaking at a local club. Having gained enough experience in show business, she decides to write a novel. "ProLIFE. How to lie down as a star, in which she revealed the wrong side of the musical world. The book became a bestseller with a circulation of 50,000 copies. Another novel followed. “Slimming, or Desires contrary to…”. Evgenia began to appear less and less on the screens and increasingly pursue a writing career. Rasskazova's last novel "Inside Her" was released in 2010. Now the former "manufacturer" is also mastering the profession of a TV presenter. And in 2014, viewers could see Zhenya in the program "Let's get married".
Dmitry Astashenok, 32 years old
The blue-eyed brunette instantly fell in love with the public, especially the female part of it. Dmitry Astashenok(32) - younger brother of another manufacturer and former lead singer of the group "Roots" by Alexander Astashenka.
He was born in Orenburg and just like his brother, from childhood he was fond of music - already at the age of seven, Dmitry began to write songs. At the age of 19, he won the Grand Prix of the competition "Morning Star". In 2002, Astashenok moved to Moscow, and in 2003 he ended up in "Star Factory". The project did not bring Dmitry the desired success, and "Factory" he left pretty soon. In 2006 Dmitry graduated from the Faculty of Sociology Moscow State University, and in parallel worked on recording the first album. One of the most popular songs of the musician was the composition "Close" who has been playing for a while "Russian Radio".

Mikhail Reshetnikov, 35 years old
Like the rest of the participants, from early childhood Mikhail was a musical child. At the age of five, parents sent their talented son to a music club. DK MAI. Dmitry Praskovin, 32 years old

Gennady Lagutin, 35
Was born in Udmurtia. He graduated from the College of Pop and Jazz Art and from childhood dreamed of becoming a famous musician. Hitting on "Star Factory", Gena clearly outlined his three main goals: to get an education in England, master the professions of a sound engineer and arranger, become the owner of a recording studio.
At the moment he is the sound producer of the musical group Guru Groove Foundation, which became the winner of the largest festivals in the country, such as Picnic "Afisha", "Homestead Jazz", "MMKF", Bosco Fresh Fest, "Wild Mint", Kazan. Kremlin Live» and many others.

Alexey Semenov, 39 years old
Alexey Semenov was born in Nizhny Novgorod and from childhood he was distinguished by artistry. He showed a craving for singing from kindergarten, and at school he was the most beloved student of the persecutor in singing. In his student years, Alexey did not leave his addiction to music and performed at events with a guitar in his hands, performing Russian rock. In 2001 from Nizhny Novgorod he moved to Chukotka where he created his own radio station "Blizzard", which a year after its creation was awarded the prize "Radio mania". Semenov decided not to stop there and flew to Moscow to fulfill his childhood dream - to become a famous musician. It was not possible to win in a musical television project, but it was possible to find love and a spouse in the face "manufacturers" Elena Temnikova… but not for long. They met during the casting, but their romance spun after the end of the project. The wedding became spontaneous, the separation scandalous. Christian Leinich, 35
One of the most talented, decent and modest "manufacturers". Christian was born in the small northern town of Ukhta. At the age of nine he was a backing vocalist and keyboardist. Andrey Derzhavin and groups "Stalker". At the age of 12, he moved with his family to Sochi, where he began to play football, and then entered the football boarding school UOR (School of the Olympic Reserve). However, the future artist was not able to build a brilliant football career due to an injury, which again returned Leinich to music. Pierre Narcisse, 38

After the end of the show, Pierre became one of the most extraordinary and recognizable performers on the national stage. Maria Rzhevskaya, 28 years old

At the age of 18, she moved from her native Omsk to Moscow to enter the theater school, but ended up on "Star Factory". Temnikova entered the top three finalists and took third place. In 2006, Temnikova became the soloist of the group silver. In 2007, the group went to the international music competition "Eurovision-2007". The sexy trio led by Temnikova managed to win only third place. The group was gaining popularity, but in 2009 rumors appeared on the Web about Lena's departure from the team, which were eventually confirmed. In November 2014, she released the first single called "Dependence" and filmed a music video. The next creation was the song "Towards", which was presented in three versions: romantic, dance and acoustic.

Young people got bored with the same performers moving from one channel to another, they wanted to see new faces. Under the guidance of music producer Igor Matvienko, 16 people were selected. They were settled in the "Star House" and began to turn into Russian pop stars. Not everyone withstood adequately "star" imprisonment, not without scandals. But in the end, Russia received new idols.
The first place in the project was taken by the Roots group, which included Pavel Artemiev, Alexander Astashenok, Alexander Berdnikov and Alexei Kabanov. The second place went to the Factory group, which consisted of one - Maria Alalykina, Irina Toneva, Sati Kazanova and Alexander Savelyev. The third place was won by Mikhail Grebenshchikov. Since the Star Factory project was a novelty, it was almost necessary to bring participants to the casting by force. Many were treated with distrust, auditions were held even in music schools.

In 2003, at the peak of the popularity of the first show, two "Star Factory" came out in a row. The producer of the second was Max Fadeev. Under his wing, Yulia Savicheva, Irakly Pirtskhalava, Pierre Narcissus, Elena Temnikova, Elena Terleeva and the winner of the second season, Polina Gagarina, who soon left Fadeev and spent a long time on her own, entered the stage.
The producer of the third season was Alexander Shulgin, Valeria's mentor and husband. The winner of the third "Factory" Nikita Malinin did not stay long at the pinnacle of fame and quickly faded into the shadows. The factory "KGB" and "Tootsi" disintegrated. The fifth "Factory" was, one might say, triumphant. Not only was Alla Pugacheva herself her artistic director, but there were also two producers - Max Fadeev and Igor Matvienko. Victoria Daineko won the first place, Ruslan Masyukov took the second place, Natalia Podolskaya and Mikhail Veselov shared the third place. "Star Factory-4" was first dubbed the "Celebrity Children's Factory" - the grandson of Edita Piekha, the daughter of Vladimir Kuzmin independently passed the casting and added intrigue to the project.

After a short break in 2006, the sixth "Factory" was released under the direction of Viktor Drobysh. The winner was Dmitry Koldun, who represented Belarus in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest 2007. In addition, the well-known graduates of this season are the Chelsea group, Zara and others.

In 2007, the last "Star Factory" was released, giving us new stars. This time, the Meladze brothers led it. The winner of the project was Anastasia Prikhodko, the second place was taken by Mark Tishman, the third place was taken by two groups - "BiS" and "Yin-Yang", the latter soon broke up.

In 2011, the show “Star Factory. Return". Well-known graduates of all factories, except for the second and third, took part in it. Of the twelve participants, Victoria Daineko, a pupil of Igor Matvienko, won.
In the summer of 2012, a new “factory” project was released, where graduates of Russian and Ukrainian shows competed with each other. Russia was represented by Dmitry Koldun, Polina Gagarina, Vlad Sokolovsky, Joker and Victoria Daineko. From Ukraine - "DIO films", Max Barskikh, Erika, Eva Bushmina and Stas Shurins. 15 years ago, the first "Star Factory" broke into the air, which was a resounding success. The project participants received a lucky ticket to the top of show business. Very soon the legendary competition will appear on the screens again. The MUZ-TV channel has already announced a casting for a TV program with a slightly changed name - "New Star Factory"!
Absolutely anyone from 15 to 29 years old gets a chance to become famous like Polina Gagarina, Elena Temnikova or Natalia Podolskaya. The list of finalists of the "Factory" of past years, who were able to gain fame and popularity, is quite extensive, which greatly increases the excitement on the eve of the upcoming show.

First place - the group "Roots"
The guys from the Roots group, who won first place, were predicted a bright future. At first, they really kept the bar and were in great demand: they toured Russia, recorded soundtracks for films and TV shows. But by 2010, the popularity began to decline and the group broke up, and popular hits are heard only at school discos.
Today Lesha Kabanov and Sasha Berdnikov are exemplary family men, Pasha Artemiev continues to make music and even created his own indie group ARTEMIEV, and Sasha Astashenok managed to appear in the cinema, however, he did not have any particularly significant roles.
Second place - group "Factory"
But the girl band "Factory", which took second place, managed to break through to glory. The debut album "Factory Girls" went on sale in 2004. The entire circulation was sold out in a few days. Irina, Alexandra and Sati continued to record new compositions and star in videos. A year later, such songs as “I'm Not Guilty” and “He” were released. The compositions instantly became real hits. Even producer Igor Matvienko did not expect such success. During their career, the "manufacturers" released 3 studio albums, 22 singles and 16 clips. They gave hundreds of concerts in major cities of Russia and CIS countries. They have six Golden Gramophone awards in their piggy bank.
Until now, “factory girls” delight fans with regular performances, however, only Alexandra Savelyeva and Irina Toneva remained from the old line-up. Sati Casanova left the group in 2010, and former Hi-Fi member Katya Li took her place.
As for the personal life of girls, then everything is in perfect order. Irina Toneva married 27-year-old dancer from Ukraine Alexei Brizh, and Alexandra Savelyeva is very happily married to actor Kirill Safonov, only Sati Kazanova has not yet arranged her personal life.
Third place - Mikhail Grebenshchikov
The third place on the project was taken by Mikhail Grebenshchikov, about whom nothing has been heard for a very long time. After the "Star Factory", the singer released only a couple of songs that were successful, but despite this, things did not go further.
Misha has matured and no longer sings about "loaves, they are rolls." But now Grebenshchikov is an employee of the Ministry of Arts and a teacher at Alla Pugacheva's children's school.

Everyone dreams of repeating the success of Polina Gagarina. The singer took first place at the second "Star Factory", made a brilliant solo career, took second place at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, became a mentor in the popular show "Voice" on Channel One and, finally, became a happy wife and mother of two children .
In addition to all of the above, Polina also radically changed in appearance and became just a beauty. Second place - Elena Terleeva
After completing her participation in the show "Factory", Elena Terleeva went headlong into her studies: she was intensively engaged in vocals, choreography and managed to work in jazz bands. After graduating from a music university in 2005, Elena met composer Alex Prusov and began preparing her first solo project, which included the songs “Between me and you”, “Drop”.
The work of the beginning star was even appreciated by the Moscow government and awarded the title "Golden Voice of Russia". In 2005, Terleeva managed to become one of the contenders for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. And two years later, she delighted fans with new hits: "The Sun" and "Love Me", for the first of which the singer received many awards: an award from the Golden Gramophone, laureate at the Song of the Year - 2007 competition.
Despite significant success, the girl was not completely satisfied with her life, because she always dreamed of performing in the jazz genre, but such music is not in great demand in Russia. The creative fate of Elena Temnikova was more enviable than that of her namesake. Largely thanks to the provocative group Serebro, created under the leadership of Max Fadeev. In addition to Elena Temnikova, the ensemble included Marina Lizorkina and Olya Seryabkina. In May 2007, the first single of the girl group, Song # 1, was released on the Monolith Records label. It was with this composition that the trio Serebro went to Eurovision. As a result, at the competition in Helsinki, the group representing Russia took 3rd place. Both the release and the tour that followed in support of it were successful, but already in December it was reported that Temnikova was leaving the project. The reason for this was the singer's conflict with Max Fadeev: the producer was dissatisfied with the romance of Lena and his younger brother Artem. However, then the artist still remained in the group. As part of Serebro, she released the album "Mama Lover" in 2011. The most famous songs from it were "Mama Lyuba" and "Mi Mi Mi". In early 2014, Elena Temnikova, amid health problems that arose, terminated the contract with Fadeev ahead of schedule, paying a large penalty.
After leaving Serebro, the singer took up a solo career. In November 2014, she recorded the song "Dependency", in 2015 - the singles "Towards" and "Fly Away". Although, judging by Instagram, Nikita still sings, performs, gives concerts and records new tracks, but apparently it’s impossible to break into the big stage.
Second place - Alexander Kireev
Alexander Kireev took second place at the "Star Factory" in 2003. After the end of the show, the young man, together with Dmitry Golubev and Ruslan Barsukov, created the KGB group. At that time, such hits as "Masha + Sasha" and "Five Days of Love" were born, which won the "Bomb of the Year" and "Stop Hit" awards. However, after some time the team broke up.
Now Kireev is better known as a composer of songs by Natalia Podolskaya. Sasha also hosted a program on the Karusel channel. And he is also a member of the Russian Authors' Society, engaged in production activities.
Third place - Yulia Mikhalchik
For the sake of participating in Star Factory - 3, Yulia quit her studies at the university, but the game was worth the candle, because she managed to take third place on the project, thereby earning three clips, one album and her husband in the form of show producer Alexander Shulgin from the judges! With which, by the way, nothing happened to her.
Thus, the singer Yulia Mikhalchik ascended the Olympus of modern show business, but she could not stay there. Sometimes the singer tries to release new compositions, but they do not become popular.

The singer has always carefully protected his personal life from public attention. He managed to hide from the press his marriage to the St. Petersburg model and DJ Natalia Gorchakova, which took place in 2013, and the birth of his son Peter. Recently, the couple broke up, and now two-year-old Petya lives with his mother in St. Petersburg, but his father tries to visit him as often as possible.

Of course, Masyukov thought that he would be able to return to the stage, but there were no interesting offers from the producers.
Only the owners of the capital's clubs happily invited the guy to perform, and he happily agreed. Today Ruslan still sings for a very narrow circle. He also works as a VJ on the RuTv channel.
Third place - Natalia Podolskaya and Mikhail Veselov
The third place was shared by Natalia Podolskaya and Mikhail Veselov. After the Star Factory, Natalya signed a contract with Viktor Drobysh and soon released her debut album. This was followed by a failure at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, where the singer represented Russia. Despite careful preparation, the song performed by Natalia took only 15th place. But the red-haired beauty did not give up, having learned all the lessons from the defeat, she recorded new songs, starred in the video and went on tour around the country.
The girl also participated in many TV shows, on one of which she met her future husband, singer Vladimir Presnyakov, Jr., with whom she continued her creative career after the contract with Drobysh expired.
Today Natasha is a happy wife and mother of her little son Artemy. Her popularity is only growing every year, she constantly has new hits, and the interest of the public is also fueled by the participation of the artist in popular TV shows - “Ice and Fire”, “Just Like It” and others.
