In which group did the Arkhipov novel sing before. Biography

The Russian stage is updated so often that it is sometimes difficult to remember an artist who was at the peak of popularity a few months ago. In such conditions, it is difficult for performers to stay afloat, because every day new names appear that are capable of great achievements.

In order to really be remembered by listeners from the good side and not to lose recognition even after leaving the top of the stage, you need to do something unusual, new and of the highest quality. At one time, such music was written by a well-known musical composition - the Chelsea group.

The group was very popular, and the words of their songs sounded in the head of almost every person. Glory came to the guys at a fairly early age, but it cannot be said that they did not deserve it. It all started with the "Star Factory" - a project that gave way to life for a considerable number of young artists, who are still popular to this day.

Then still unknown guys from the provinces gathered under the guidance of an experienced producer Viktor Drobysh, who saw the prospect in them and did not lose. It was he who came up with the idea to unite into one group of people who at first glance do not fit at all with each other, because they were all engaged in different genres of music.

Compound

The composition of the Chelsea group changed only once. The first line-up of the group included four people: Arseny Borodin (17 years old, mainly engaged in soul), Denis Petrov (21 years old, rapped), Alexei Korzin (19 years old, was fond of r "n" b music) and Roman Arkhipov (21 years old, preferred rock music). The Chelsea group assembled the first line-up precisely at the Star Factory. The combination of these young people turned out to be surprisingly successful, and they successfully performed on the project, writing several hits, with which they later went on a tour of Russia, gathering crowds of fans at their concerts.

The composition of the Chelsea group was quite diverse. Each member of the group is talented in its own way and deserves special attention. Therefore, it is worth talking about them in more detail.

Denis Petrov

The official place of birth is a small town called Mozdok. Immediately after his birth, his parents moved to Vladikavkaz, so his childhood and youth were spent there.

The future soloist of the Chelsea group studied at an ordinary gymnasium number 5 in Vladikavkaz. After graduating from high school, he entered the university at the Faculty of Journalism. Denis was actively engaged in this profession for some time. He worked as a correspondent and wrote reports for Vesti.

One of the main hobbies in the artist's life was football. Denis was very active in it, but later he still preferred a musical career.

Speaking about musical interests, it is worth noting Denis Petrov's love for the lead singer of the legendary Queen band Freddie Mercury. The Russian artist considers the British musician the best in the history of music.

Now Denis lives in St. Petersburg, where he moved a long time ago. He is a journalist by education and in the first years of his life in the northern capital he studied at the Faculty of Journalism at St. Petersburg State University.

After the collapse of the group, Denis Petrov appeared on the big stage more than once, but in a different role. A few years ago, he performed at the Comedy Battle project with his stand-up.

Roman Arkhipov

Roman was born on November 9, 1984 in a small provincial town called Gorky. However, his childhood was mostly spent in Moscow, where he moved with his parents at the age of 7.

Roman was the oldest member of the Chelsea group, at the time of the creation of the team he was 21 years old. But he has always openly stated that he is a fan of rock music and wants to perform in this particular genre. However, in the group he was the vocalist.

The first composition of the group consisted of four people, among whom was Roman. However, it was he who first left the group, after which the composition of the Chelsea group changed, and only three people remained. It was his personal decision. Despite how successful the Chelsea group was, Roman Arkhipov left the squad consciously and on a friendly note.

Arseny Borodin

Arseny was born in the city of Barnaul on December 13, 1988. His father was a fairly well-known musician, so the boy from childhood was surrounded by an atmosphere of music and creativity.

The father sent the boy to the song theater at an early age, which had a significant impact on his musical talent. Singing teachers saw great potential in him, and they did not fail.

Arseniy was the youngest member of the group. At the age of 17, when he was still at school, the future artist decides to take part in the casting for the Star Factory project, which he successfully passes and is among the participants. This marked the beginning of the musical career of Alexei Borodin.

Alexey Korzin

Date of birth - May 18, 1986. His mother insisted on his son's musical career, as his father wanted to send Alexei to the martial arts section. At an early age, the future singer goes to a music school.

As a teenager, Alexei showed his talent more than once, winning various music competitions, but the starting point of his career, like for all members of the group, was the Star Factory project.

The performer's favorite musical instrument is the piano, but he is the vocalist in the group.

Finally

Chelsea is a musical group whose composition was very diverse. This is one of the few teams that managed to achieve real success. "Chelsea" - a group whose photo composition flaunted on many posters and signs throughout Russia. Their songs were played in almost every institution, concerts were attended by thousands of people. Success does not come in vain, which means that the band members are really talented people who know how to make music at a high level.

About the pseudonym and my first question will be: - Why did you decide to work under a pseudonym? Why not Roma Arkhipov, already known to us, but Troy Harley? Were there other options, or was this one “born” right away? Firstly, the American market is very different from the Russian one and Roman Arkhipov is not known to them, and then it is a combination of letters and sounds that is not pronounced for Americans at all :))) The name Troy was born immediately, and Harley was a joint idea of my label JK Music Group and music producer Randy Jackson, it was he who considered the name Troy Harley successful for launching a new music brand in the American market. Roma (Troy) and Randy- How was the parting with the Chelsea group? How did the other members react to your decision to pursue a solo career? Do you keep in touch with the guys? One fine day, at the end of the project "Star Factory. Return", where we performed more than worthy, I realized that for the Chelsea group, this was the peak of their career. Thanks to this project, the public finally saw us for who we are. We managed to break the stereotype about boy band members who are sugary and non-singing. And if you look a little back at the “Star Factory” of 2006: on that project I tried, as they say, to give a little bit of rock, and I was allowed to do it. I sang with such monsters of rock as Scorpions, Gorky park, Gotthard and the material was selected for me appropriately. And although later I became part of the Chelsea group, no one could take away the dream of rock and roll from me :) For 5 years at Chelsea, I simultaneously worked on my own material. But only when I was at the peak of popularity, I realized that life is still not rubber, and if you try to start everything from scratch, then now is the time. At Chelsea, I couldn't develop anymore. Victor Drobysh, knowing about my "illness" called Rock, let me go without any questions. As for the guys, we still communicate, especially with Arseniy, we have always been friendly. Having spent so many years together - in a star house, trains, planes, on tour - it's natural that we have a lot in common. - What is the most memorable moment at the "Factory"? Was it difficult to completely isolate yourself from friends and family and live with strangers under the guns of cameras? To be honest, it was difficult for the first two days, it just took time to get used to it. And then it was hard at the end, when the headaches started from the constant bright light, from which there was nowhere to hide. - In what style will you perform? And when can we expect the first English-language singles? It is also interesting to find out with whom you collaborate - who writes words and music for the English-language repertoire. I'm currently working with JK Music Group and Grammy Award-winning American Idol permanent judge Randy Jackson. I am very grateful to my producers, Yulia Kurbatova and Oleg Shmelev (JK Music Group), because it was they who, after my departure from Chelsea, believed in me and helped start a new life here in Los Angeles. Oleg, Troy, Randy and Julia I do not like to single out styles in music, I can only say one thing - it will be high-quality music, completely different, mainly rock, pop-rock, of course. One of the singles was written by the likes of David Cook and John Shanks, mixed by Chris Lord Alge, we're working on the lyrics with Sarah West. If I start listing the regalia of these people, then a few articles will not be enough. Just type these names into google :))) I record in a studio with unrealistic creative energy - Henson Studios in Hollywood (this is where world hits by John Lennon, The Doors, Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd, Metallica, U2 and Bon Jovi were recorded). And I also work on some songs on my own together with my friend - guitarist Alexander Afanasov. In general, I was very lucky to work with incredibly talented people, such as photographer Brain Bowen Smith, designer Marina Toybina, vocal teacher Marlon Saunders and many others. Special thanks to my friend, photographer Roman Kadaria, he flew here from Moscow and we did several photo shoots with him in LA and Vegas. His work was very much to the taste of the Americans. The first single will be released in early 2012, at the same time a video will appear on American music channels. - How, in your opinion, is it really possible for a Russian singer to achieve real success abroad? Which of your Russian colleagues do you consider promising in terms of moving to the West? You can achieve success in any market, even in China, even in the US, but for this a lot of things must coincide. A huge number of people tried to start something here, but they did not succeed. This doesn't mean you shouldn't try. The most important thing in this, as my music producer Randy Jackson says, is to work very hard every day, study and again - work, work, work. What am I doing now. I can say one thing - the class of musicians here is much higher, the competition is much greater, most of the people are musically educated and perfectly understand when a person sings well, and when - badly, when a phonogram, and when live. Musicians here will not be judged for their hair or rhinestones. And money here does not solve issues, as is customary in Russia. There is a concept here - healthy competition. And since such people believed in me, then it makes sense to fight:) Roma, thank you very much for the interview. Finally, do you read Gossip? And, since New Year's moods are already in the air, despite the heightened interest in the political situation in the country, I will ask - what can you wish the gossips in the coming year? Dear Gossips, I wish you the most important thing in the new year - a lot of Love for yourself and others, so that you and all your loved ones are healthy and happy. I wish you to be kinder to people, I understand. that sitting at a computer is very easy to humiliate and insult someone and you will not get anything for it, but do not forget that behind every photo that is published here is a living person who has parents, children, loved ones. Every time you print another nasty thing, stand in the place of this person, be kinder :) Updated on 12/12/11 23:05: I'm planning to interview Anna Sedokova about "Project Podium" soon. If you have burning questions - write in a personal

One of the participants in the show "Success" on the STS channel was a former member of the Chelsea group Roman Arkhipov. For several years now, the performer has been living in America, where he performs as a rock musician. According to Roman, he knows for sure why he came to the project. The first song that Arkhipov performed in front of the experts was the cult ballad "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams. StarHit learned from the singer about his attitude to vocal projects, work with foreign stars, the problems that Russian artists face in the West, and also about filming videos for domestic celebrities.

Roman, did you think that you would go to the final of the project?

No, I didn't think it would go this far. Initially, I wanted to come and present my new song. But somewhere during the second program, I turned on and I was drawn into competition with other project participants. To some extent, it is probably more offensive for me to lose everyone, because I am a professional artist, which means that the demand is twice as high. This is not pride and pride, but an internal assessment of oneself. On the other hand, it’s not so offensive for young guys to give in, because for many of them this is the first step to the big stage ... When they called me and offered to participate, I was in America and was going to celebrate my birthday. As a result, I had to postpone my plans.

Are you worried?

I have mixed emotions and feelings. It took me time to adapt. On the one hand, I took a step back, as if descending a step down - I became a participant again, allowing myself to be assessed from the outside ... Therefore, I, in fact, am in a state of stress. I think that not everyone will decide on such an act. I can say that I am glad to participate in this project, because finally there is an opportunity to show myself from a new side. In Russia, the solo artist Roman Arkhipov was not particularly known after the Star Factory. There was a Chelsea band and a guy with long hair who sang in it.

How do you like the composition of experts? Have you seen the first episode of the show?

Watched. I have known Philip Kirkorov for a long time, we worked together, and I was familiar with Nyusha. However, this did not prevent them from being objective in assessing my number. If I performed poorly and was criticized, this approach would be fair. Still, this is a competition, so personal connections should not play any role. Many of the members are familiar with the crew members and producers, but the demand from everyone is the same. In fact, I thought more about what Purulent would say, because he “wraps” many people and can speak sharply about the project participants. However, he still missed me.

Did you know about Purulent before the project? By the way, how do you feel about rap battles?

No, I didn't listen to him. I know that quite recently in Los Angeles there was a battle between Oksimiron and the American Dizaster, my friends organized... To be honest, I don't like this genre of music. I think there is enough negativity in our lives. I am closer to the image of a positive artist who gives people emotions when everything around is gray and dirty. Therefore, I do not really understand the art of insulting each other, although it, of course, also has a place to be, since the public is interested.

And how did your American colleagues, in particular, Tommy Marolda (famous producer, worked with Imagine Dragons, The Killers and Cher - Approx.), reacted to your participation in the project?

Fine. They said: "Well, super, go." I even have a video of Randy Jackson, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, vocal coach Whitney Houston and stylist Katy Perry supporting me. Since the channel cannot be viewed in the US, they do not follow the project. But I will definitely show them the issues.

Does participation in such a legendary show of its kind as "Star Factory" help you? How do you rate the level of other participants of the "Success"?

High, serious battles are taking place on the project, and the casting is very difficult to pass. Many of the guys have been on other TV shows, they just might not be as familiar to the general public as I am. Of course, participation in the Star Factory helps me, as well as all the knowledge and experience I have. At the same time, I cannot say that I feel head and shoulders above others. My fame is rather a burden, as it adds responsibility.

Is it worth participating in such TV projects for novice artists?

Yes, they are definitely needed. First, it is a chance to be shown on TV. Secondly, the show has a reality element that allows viewers to get to know the performer better and learn more about him as a person - not just as a singing head, but as an interesting person. Thirdly, a huge plus is that you are allowed to sing original songs. Moreover, it is only welcome. I don't want to say anything bad about other projects, but when you do covers, you don't become a real artist... The Star Factory gave a huge number of performers, almost half of our show business is from there. The most important thing begins after the project - someone returns to the construction site, others to the theater, and still others go further. I believe that a producer or manager plays a big role in a musical career. Communication with the press, organizing speeches, social networks - all this is very important.

Do you keep in touch with other Chelsea members?

We parted as adults without conflict. I am friends with Arseniy Borodin, we see each other regularly when I come to Moscow. We communicate less often with Lesha and Denis - everyone has their own affairs and projects, so it doesn’t always work out. Recently they reunited within the framework of one musical television project - they performed the song "The Most Beloved".

Many continue to associate you with this group...

Please, I have no complexes about my past. I haven't done adult films. Yes, there are those who disown the "Star Factory", but I am proud to participate in this project. It was difficult to get there, and I went to a good school, worked with many professionals in their field. And what happened to me in America is also a wonderful experience. So let them associate, it was not the worst group.

What was the most difficult thing when you started conquering the American scene?

Lots of different issues, I can talk about it for hours. Not only the language and accent, but also the fact that you start life from a new leaf when you don't know anyone and have to maintain your existence. It takes time for you to assimilate and not think about what to live on, and you also need to convince the foreign audience that you are an artist ... I went through a lot there and learned a lot. There are, for example, legal nuances - at the very beginning of your career, no one will give you a contract on good terms, you have to agree with the toughest ones. But you don’t even think about it, but you are just glad that you were taken. That is why many Russian artists, having worked in the United States for many years, found themselves out of work and earning a penny. Whatever one may say, abroad business is in the first place.

It is known that you had a difficult period abroad. You said you worked as a loader...

I took a step back, then to rush forward. Faith in God helps me in any life trials, this is the only thing thanks to which I did not give up at that time. Then I lost my job and almost lost my roof over my head, my girlfriend left me. I was alone in a foreign country with no means of subsistence. All I had left was a dog and a bunch of studio equipment. It probably lasted about five or six months, but it seemed to me that it lasted forever. Until at some point my head just turned on and strength appeared, and then the circumstances changed.

Roman, in the USA you had a chance to work with many foreign stars, in particular, with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. What is he like in life?

Richie Sambora is the kindest person, creative, with an amazing sense of humor. Few people are allowed to work with musicians of this level. Like a real rocker, Richie has guitars everywhere in the house, even in the toilet, and also a piano and a bunch of Grammys - a very creative environment ... I did not work with Bon Jovi himself, but met him several times in the studio. He and I are absolutely not alike, he is small in stature.

Did Richie never compare you?

No, I remember once they said to him: “Don’t you think that your colleague looks like someone else?” However, Richie didn't find that I was all that reminiscent of Bon Jovi. He said that I was younger and better at singing.

Who else have you worked with?

With Nickelback, Scorpions, Gothard, AC/DC drummer, Alice Cooper guitarist, Tim Owens of Judas Priest, Randy Jackson… He also performed with Rise Against, Yellowcard, Lostprophets, many other bands. My songs were mixed by Chris Lord-Algy (one of the most famous American sound engineers, worked with The Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker and Bruce Springsteen - Note). Life generally brought me together with a lot of people, I remember once I even talked with Steven Tyler.

Not everyone gets to work with world-class artists… What did you learn from them?

These are very simple, calm people, with their families and habits. None of them showed arrogance or arrogance. Most riders, who are then quoted in the press, are more outrageous, as a rule, young scandalous artists allow themselves to do this. Most of the people I've worked with have their own religion, whether it's Buddhism, Christianity, or another faith. In order for an artist to be interesting to look at, he must be spiritually filled.

Did you have a different attitude to Russian show business after that?

It is worth noting that recently it has changed significantly for the better, many high-quality projects have appeared, in particular, the same “Success”. The only thing I missed here was the opportunity to perform live with the band, but that doesn't make the show any worse. Music is greatly influenced by the Internet, now there are more opportunities for young artists. At the same time, it cannot be said that our show business has made a qualitative leap forward. A large number of promising performers have appeared, but, unfortunately, there is still a tough format that is still insurmountable. I like what Arseniy [Borodin], IVAN does. If Sasha Ivanov fails to achieve anything here, it will be a big disappointment for me. There should be not only music for discos, but also for the soul. You know, I would like to create such a “male” label, it seems to me that we lack such performers among young people - real, sincere, slightly wrinkled.

Interestingly, did close people try to dissuade you from moving abroad?

On the contrary, they were supportive. I am constantly in touch with them thanks to social networks - you can always go to Instagram or Facebook to find out who is doing what ... I have a lot of business in Moscow, so I often come here. I opened my own video production company. Over the past year, he has shot about a dozen videos for Russian artists, including Olga Buzova, Nastasya Samburskaya and IVAN. Therefore, I do not break off relations with my homeland, but, so to speak, study abroad. Now I'm preparing an EP in English, it will be released in February. There will also be a video for a joint song with Sasha Ivanov (IVAN), it is in Russian.

Do you take part in the work on the clips yourself?

Of course, I am engaged in video production and select a team that will work on it, make my suggestions.

What impressions did you get from working with Olga Buzova and Nastasya Samburskaya, one of the most discussed Russian stars?

They are quite adequate girls, alive and real. I am always amazed when they scold Olga Buzova. It's like she's competing with Sting or Aerosmith. I do not think that there is a big gap between Olga and other artists of her genre. A huge plus for Buzova is that she is who she is. A broken-hearted girl who does what she can. The public loves her, and will love her, because Olga is a real workaholic. I can't say that her music is the limit of perfection, but it is part of Russian reality... Nastasya Samburskaya, for all her originality, is also very close to the people. People understand that she shares her experiences through creativity.

Do the artists find you when they want to shoot a video?

In different ways, mostly through word of mouth. I have a large number of connections in the West to do almost anything. It all depends on the budget and desire. For example, for 250 thousand dollars you can rent Jared Leto, but is it necessary.

Roman Arkhipov was born in Nizhny Novgorod in the family of concert director Igor Arkhipov, who worked together with Tatyana Ovsienko for many years. In the early 90s, the family settled in Moscow. As a child, Roman traveled a lot with his father and musicians on tour, traveled around Russia and other countries. It was then that he became interested in music, performed several times with Ovsienko as a bass player and starred in the singer's videos.

While studying at school, Arkhipov studied at the same time at a music school, played keyboards and bass guitar. Carried away by percussion instruments, he mastered the drum kit overnight. The boy tried to sing, but as a teenager his voice began to break, and Roma forgot about vocal lessons for a long time. At 17, Arkhipov left for the United States for a year. He studied and worked part-time in a Russian restaurant. It was then that the young man again had an interest in singing.

After school, Roman tried to enter the Academy of the FSB, trained a lot and ran, but in the end he still did not pass the medical examination and chose the Faculty of International Relations of the Moscow University for the Humanities.

Arkhipov is engaged in tennis, snowboarding and wakeboarding. Travels in his free time.

Roman is fluent in English and Spanish.

Participation of Roman Arkhipov in the Star Factory

During his student years, Arkhipov constantly participated in university concerts. Despite the great concentration on his studies, Roman still wanted to try himself as a professional singer. When the “Star Factory” thundered in Russia, the young musician took part in castings three times. He was lucky only in 2006, when he entered the sixth season of the competition.

Initially, Arkhipov was going to introduce rock notes into the pop format familiar to the Factory. Roman succeeded: he sang on the show along with such famous bands as Scorpions And Gotthard. Despite the fact that the young man left the project a step before the final, it was his performance with the song Lift U Up was the final at the concert of the "manufacturers" in the Olympic.

Roman Arkhipov's career as part of the Chelsea group

Even while participating in the project, Arkhipov began performing as part of the Chelsea boy band, which was produced by Viktor Drobysh. In addition to Roman, the team consisted of Alexei Korzin, Arseniy Borodin and Denis Petrov.

The musicians immediately became popular. In 2006, the guys received the title of "best group", as well as several Golden Gramophone awards. In the same year they released their debut album " Chelsea", and in 2009 the album" return point". In 2010, Roman shot his first solo video for the song Demons and Angels, and a year later he decided to leave the group in order to pursue a solo career and realize himself as a rock musician.

Solo career of Roman Arkhipov

Starting a solo career, Arkhipov moved to the United States. Here he performs under a creative pseudonym Troy Harley. Recently, the musician made a tour of the major cities of America. The singer lives permanently in Los Angeles.

In 2017, the singer created a new project R.O.M.A.N. He collaborates with the famous producer Tony Marolda.

In the fall of 2017, Arkhipov took part in a vocal show
