Many people think that drawing is an artistic "science" that is not subject to everyone. In fact, the craving for art awakens in a person in early childhood, but without a certain development of abilities, it weakens over the years.

So is it possible to teach a child to draw, especially if they were born who do not know how to do this? When to start the educational process and with what exactly? Finally, is it necessary to send the baby to an art school or a drawing circle in the future?

At what age do children start drawing?

Children begin to be interested in drawing quite early, taking an example from their parents, brothers and sisters, who write something on paper. However, in a general sense, the craving for drawing is manifested in babies aged from 1 to 1.5 years.

And if at first the child’s drawings are more like a doodle-doodle, then closer to 5 years (and up to 15 years), an actively developing fantasy helps kids create real masterpieces on paper.

The benefits of drawing for child development

It is almost impossible to evaluate all the positive aspects of drawing in childhood - its influence on kids is so huge that the development of the entire personality of the child falls under the "sight".

In a general sense, drawing:

  • forms in the baby a sincere sense of beauty and a desire to create something beautiful;
  • develops the mind and imagination of the baby and helps to master new "tools" for understanding the world: felt-tip pens, brushes, pencils;
  • the child learns to convey surrounding objects with his paintings and at the same time is engaged in useful work.

Where to start?

The first drawing lessons can take place already when the baby learns to hold objects in his hands. At this point, mom can hand him pencils and help him draw a simple line on paper.

Let it be not quite even and even “move out” from the album to the table. It is much more important that the child understands that his “manipulations” can subsequently turn into something really beautiful!

Pencils or markers?

Giving pencils to kids without adult supervision is not worth it so that they do not accidentally get hurt by them. However, under vigilant supervision, children can draw with felt-tip pens and a brush - especially since they make the first samples of the "pen" with the help of coloring books.

Who will refuse to draw the hero of your favorite book, the finished image of which lies in front of you on paper? It's hard to make a mistake and do something wrong!

And what exactly?

Some people find that pencils or thin felt-tip pens are not very convenient to use. At least for kids of two years old: their lead often breaks, and the rod is pressed inward.

However, only by giving the child the opportunity to choose something of his own from the variety of options will you help him find his favorite "tool" for drawing.

Paints or crayons?

A two-year-old kid can draw with almost everything: with finger paints and bold felt-tip pens - on paper, with bright crayons - right on the asphalt or board. It is generally most convenient to draw with the latter, since they are soft, and the lines behind them leave clear.

It will be a little more difficult to master gouache and paints, because they imply not only the desire to sculpt something, but also a certain creative technique.

A miracle of technology!

Recently, shops have begun to sell completely amazing things for drawing: a set for creativity with glitter on velvet paper or amazing felt-tip pens that a kid can blow into. And it's truly wonderful!

Drawing lessons for kids from 2 to 4 years old

It is necessary to teach a child who is 2-3 years old to draw from mastering the simplest techniques. At the same time, it is very important to be attentive to the needs of the baby to create and not to make fun of his diligent scratching with a pencil on paper.

The condescending attitude of adults to children's drawings leads to the fact that the child may consider drawing an empty occupation and refuse it.

What will be required?

Take bright colors, paper (the larger the sheets, the better), good brushes, a soft sponge and a glass of water. It is best to dress in something that is not a pity to get dirty - even an apron bought for drawing will not save you from stains when a young artist is only 3-4 years old!

How much time to devote to classes?

You need to teach a kid to draw for 10-20 minutes 2-3 times a week so that he does not get tired, but the craving for fine arts is not lost in the end.

Techniques for developing drawing skills

the freedom of action

For this lesson, glossy white paper and watercolors are taken. Have your little one dip the brush into the paint can and drip directly onto the paper! The bizarre patterns with which it spreads will look like magical pictures!

Sponge, not Bob

For this lesson, gouache and a large sheet of paper are taken. Have the child dip their pen into the paint and wring it out a little. Let him leave a “signature” on the sheet with his hand, and with a sponge rolled into a roll, make the final artistic “touches” next to it.

In a similar way, you can draw on paper and with your fingers: dilute the gouache with water so that it turns into “sour cream”, and pour it onto a plate. Using a wide brush, apply paint to the baby's fingers and ask them to leave their autograph on the sheet.

Wet style

A thick and large sheet of paper should be wetted under water for a couple of seconds. Now put it on a tray and invite your child to paint watercolors on it. Given the condition of the surface, the paint will spread on it, mix and create amazing “wet” patterns.

Scarlet flower

To teach a child to draw something really memorable, you can do this: dip the child’s finger in green and, holding his hand, draw a stem along with him on paper. A handprint will act as a bud, and in the end you will get a wonderful flower!

This technique can be successfully used to depict other objects. Try to use it to depict a tree or a cheerful giraffe with a baby.

Drawing lessons with children over 4 years old

The age of four is a fertile time for mastering more complex drawing techniques. Already during this period, it is worth sending the baby to art school, but if for some reason this does not work out, you can teach him to draw by yourself.

Together is more fun

Get ready for the fact that you will have to do this together, since it is from your drawings that he will take the right example. Try to draw brightly, specifically and not be distracted by too small details.

Tell about everything

Accompany the drawing process with a fascinating story so that the child understands what you are doing.

Master the figures

The most important thing is to teach the kid to draw geometric shapes that will become the basis of the desired images, regardless of whether it is an animal or a person.

How to draw a tree?

At 4 years old, you need to start with a simple one: with an ordinary green Christmas tree, which is cold in winter.

Below we attach step-by-step instructions for creating an "artistic" tree and a picture - so that the child understands the principle of work.

  1. We draw a line on the sheet leading from top to bottom. We draw slightly curved lines from it, which will be the branches of our Christmas tree.
  2. Now we will try to “outline” these lines with needles: as shown in the figure. When all the branches become fluffy, paint over the Christmas tree in green.

Similarly, you can depict a birch and other types of trees.

Learn to draw animals

Draw a hedgehog

  1. Draw the needles of a hedgehog on paper using a zigzag, and then add ears to it.
  1. Connect them with an oval to make a head.

  1. Draw the hedgehog's nose, eyes and mouth and reward the hedgehog with a belly.

  1. Draw his legs and arms.

  1. It remains to draw the needles as shown in the picture. The hedgehog is ready!

Draw a donkey

Drawing a donkey on paper is also much easier than you thought.

We perform the following steps step by step:

  1. We draw a simple oval on paper, then divide it with a line into two parts, in the upper of which we draw the eye of a donkey, and in the lower - nostrils and mouth.
  2. Now we attach the ears to the donkey, drawing two “cucumbers” on the sheet. Just below the head, draw another oval - this will be the torso of the donkey, which we will connect to the head with two "neck" lines.
  3. Now you need to add legs to the animal, drawing them at the bottom of the body, and a real tail, placing it on the side.

Donkey is ready! It remains to color it as fantasy tells!

Draw a cat and a dog

In the same way, you can draw a cat and a dog. The step-by-step technique for depicting a cat is shown in the following figure:

The main thing: to make it clear to the baby that drawing animals is not difficult, if we take geometric shapes as a basis (in this case, these are circles and semicircles) and show a bit of imagination.

In the same way, you can draw a dog:

How to draw a person?

How to teach a child to draw a man? Not as easy as you would like, but not as difficult as it seems. Begin!

Scheme of the image of a man in full growth

1. Draw an oval and a rectangle on the sheet (as shown in the picture), and then attach them with a line to each other. We finish the little man's legs and arms with fingers.

2. Then add two lines to the arms to make them appear thicker. We will do the same with the legs. Now let's draw a person's ears (two semicircles on the sides) and make a hairstyle.

3. A person's face deserves special attention, but drawing his features - mouth, nose and eyebrows, will be easy if you first look at the drawing. We add a neck to the person and finish drawing a shirt with a collar.

5. We draw him trousers and boots, draw palms. There is nothing left: erase the auxiliary lines, outline the contours and decorate the person.

Draw a human figure in motion and a face

Similarly, you can depict a person in motion or draw a portrait of him. The step by step process is detailed in the following picture:

Drawing circle: when and why?

By the age of 6, a preschooler who is actively involved in drawing already knows how to create with paints and pencils. If his drawings differ significantly from the work of his peers (for the better), send the preschooler to a circle so that an experienced teacher continues to work with him.

To choose a good circle, it is enough to find out if there is a private school or a House of Creativity in your area. Very often, ordinary art teachers conduct such classes right in schools (without age restrictions).

Individual lessons

If you want your child to create professionally at the age of 6, send him to individual lessons. Their advantages are that:

  • the teacher visits you at a convenient time;
  • you choose the program in which the child will study (for example, drawing portraits);
  • Lessons are paid according to the fact of the lesson.

Individual lessons also have disadvantages: they are not cheap, and it can be difficult to find a good teacher.

Summing up

Any way to teach a child to draw is good - both at 1 year old and at 5 years old, because it develops imagination and allows you to spend a little more time with your baby.

At the same time, it is not so important whether you will strictly follow a certain methodology or develop an individual artistic program on your own. It is important that these activities are interesting for the child and are varied.

And even if a real artist does not grow out of your baby in the future, drawing lessons will still have a beneficial effect on his development and the correct perception of the world around him.

Technique for teaching children to draw. Pictures to help you learn how to draw objects, animals and people.

  • Every mother wants to raise from her baby, at least a talented and successful person. On the way to this dream, women strive to comprehensively develop their crumbs, invest in them maximum knowledge and teach them as many skills and abilities as possible.
  • One of these skills is the ability to draw. Many kids, due to the lack of artistic talent in them, are quite upset.
  • In this article we will try to figure out how to teach a baby to draw certain things and animated objects.

How to gradually teach a child to draw at 3-4 years old?

Step-by-step learning to draw a baby with a pencil or pen:

  1. At the age of 3-4 years, the baby still cannot press hard enough on the pencil, so we select soft pencils for him. Such pencils are able to leave marks even after a very slight pressure.
  2. We demonstrate to the child how to properly hold a pencil in his hand. If the baby is unable to pick up a pencil on his own, we help him with this. Subsequently, we constantly make sure that the baby correctly holds a pen or pencil in his hand
  3. The first stage of training will be instilling the skill of drawing a smooth and clear line. At this age, kids are still quite uncertain about holding a pencil in their hand. Because their lines are uneven and intermittent. We teach the baby to draw a line confidently and evenly
  4. It is advisable to purchase a special notebook for tracing pictures for the child. In such notebooks, all drawings are depicted with the help of numerous dots. The baby just needs to connect all the dots with one line. The result is a beautiful drawing.
  5. At first, we help the baby to trace the pictures, directing his brush with his hand. Later, we give the crumbs to independently connect all the dots on the sheet.
  6. At the next stage, we teach the baby to draw the simplest geometric shapes - a circle, a square, a rectangle, a triangle, an oval, a trapezoid
  7. When the baby learns to draw simple figures, we teach him to create drawings from them. For example, with the help of a square and a triangle we draw a house, with the help of a circle and straight lines - the sun, with the help of a rectangle and circles - a bus, etc.
  8. You can purchase or print children's drawing books from the Internet. In such manuals, various animals and objects familiar to children, created from simple figures, are depicted in stages. Subsequently, the kid himself will learn to break all the objects into shapes and create whole pictures using this technique.

  • If by the age of five the baby has already completed the pencil training described above, you can take on the following stages of developing drawing skills
  • Now you can expand the possibilities of crumbs' creativity with the help of colored pencils, felt-tip pens and paints. It is necessary to explain to the child that by making a sketch of a drawing with a pencil, he can decorate it
  • On a large sheet of paper, the baby can now create entire compositions and interconnected plots.
  • An ordinary walk on the street can be a great help for the development of a child’s imagination. You just need to ask the baby to capture pictures that are interesting to him in his memory for later displaying them on a piece of paper. The kid will then very carefully and intently examine the objects around him in order to memorize them. Parents can give their child some tips. To do this, you can ask him leading questions like: “What color is this or that object? What are its dimensions? What is the ratio of the sizes of several objects that the baby liked? What are the objects to the touch, according to the crumbs?
  • All this will help the child to imprint interesting moments in his memory as best as possible, and then express them on paper.

  • Upon arrival home from a walk, it is advisable to give the crumbs all the objects necessary for drawing without further delay and provide him with a place convenient for creativity.
  • If the baby suddenly has some questions, you must definitely help him find the answers to them.
  • Parents themselves can ask the crumbs questions about what he intends to portray. You can ask how the child feels, trying to draw what he saw earlier.
  • In such classes, you can give the baby the right to express their emotions and show them through the drawing. For example, you can ask the baby to draw his favorite animal in different moods. That is, the task of the child is to show how the dog laughs, how angry she is, how she is afraid of something. Such lessons will develop the kid's imagination and at the same time express the state of his psyche.

How to teach to draw a tree?

How to learn to draw a tree?
  • Any tree always consists of a trunk, branches and greenery.
  • You need to start drawing a tree from the trunk. It is worth noting that the tree trunk expands from top to bottom. In other words, the base of the tree is thicker at the bottom and narrower towards the top.
  • The same applies to the branches of a tree - at the base they are thicker, and by their end they become narrower.
  • The thickness of the trunk depends on the type of tree. If you want to draw a birch, then the trunk should be thin with bends, if you want to draw an oak, then the trunk should be thick and massive

  • After the trunk is drawn, it is necessary to cover it with branches. As a rule, the branches of a tree do not start from the root, but from a quarter of its height. The lower branches are usually depicted wider than the upper ones.
  • The direction of the branches is always up - they seem to stretch towards the sun
  • On large branches, you can draw smaller branches
  • The crown can be drawn with a solid mass using paints, or it can be drawn with a pencil in the form of individual leaves
  • When all the elements of the tree are drawn, it remains only to paint over it. To depict a tree, at least two colors are required: the trunk and branches are brown or black, the crown is green

How to draw animals?

As mentioned above, for ease of drawing animals, their body must be visually divided into simple geometric shapes. Having drawn each of the figures in turn, you need to connect them with smooth lines. This is how animals are made.

Machine drawing

How to teach a child to draw a person?

It would seem that drawing a person is very difficult. However, if you follow a certain scheme, then even a preschool kid can cope with this task. So, the phased drawing of a person:

  1. We draw an oval. The oval will later become a human head
  2. Under the oval, draw a rectangle that will act as the upper part of the human body (up to the waist)
  3. We connect the oval and the rectangle with two smooth lines. Thus we draw the neck
  4. Right next to the rectangle, draw a second rectangle. Its width should be equal to the width of the first rectangle, but along the length it will be somewhat more oblong
  5. The second rectangle is divided in half by a line passing exactly in the center from top to bottom. This line will help us create some kind of legs.
  6. Along the first rectangle, draw one more thin rectangle. This is how we draw the hands
  7. We smooth the upper part of the rectangles with a smooth line - these will be the shoulders
  8. Now we depict the neck of the sweater, the triangle on the pants, shoes and hands. All extra lines must be erased with an eraser
  9. Video: How to teach a child to draw?

Drawing for children 4 years old is a favorite pastime where there is an opportunity to express themselves. Therefore, it is important to introduce kids to this fascinating business as often as possible.

What are the children drawing?

Most often, drawing for children 4 years old is connected with what surrounds them, what they are well aware of, familiar and interested in. In addition, the skills and capabilities of the children should be taken into account. After all, in case of failure, many kids deeply experience their imperfection, their inability to do something well. Therefore, drawing for children 4 years old is best to focus on what is around: nature, pets or favorite toys. There are many ways to depict the selected plot in the picture.

Pattern drawing for preschoolers

The easiest way is to display selected objects using templates. In other words, this is practically coloring, only the contours of the object are not given to the child ready-made, as in the so-called coloring books, but are applied independently when used. turtles, human faces, etc.

Drawing a teddy bear using geometric shapes

The children receive their first drawing lessons. Children 4 years old can be invited to depict their favorite teddy bear using circles and ovals. Moreover, one should not focus on the fact that the drawing will be built using geometry. But while working, you can call the details by their scientific names.

  1. The head of a bear can be depicted using a circle.
  2. The second circle can be a little larger - this will be the torso. Both figures should touch at the point where the head meets the body.
  3. Two small circles located at the top of the head are the ears, they are also in contact with the circumference of the head.
  4. All four paws are better to draw oval. They are attached to the body, so they are drawn in such a way that the ovals are in contact with the lower circle.
  5. Now eyes and a nose are drawn on the muzzle, arcs are drawn from the nose - this is the mouth.
  6. The bear is painted brown, leaving white an oval near the nose with a mouth, circles on the ears and a large oval on the tummy.

Game-lesson "Draw a picture!"

An interesting technique in teaching fine art is drawing on what an adult has done. For such an activity, you need to prepare pictures for drawing for children in advance by transferring the drawing through the glass. It is necessary to draw the outline of the object with lines, but not completely, making them discontinuous in some places.

The story of the turtle Francoise

You can make this activity more interesting and even fabulous by telling the kids an amazing story.

“The boy Fedya had a painted turtle named Françoise. They were very close friends, went for a walk in the park together, watched cartoons together, and swam in the river together in the summer. But once Fyodor forgot to put the painted turtle in the album at night. And the playful silly kitten played out, played pranks with an eraser and erased almost the entire image from the picture. The next morning the boy wept bitterly: only a pale outline remained of Francoise on the sheet, and even then in some places it was completely erased. Guys, let's help the boy and draw his dear turtle, paint it with paints and return Fedya's beloved friend!

It is important, along with the sketches, to give a sample picture for children to draw so that they can compare their drawings with the original.

Master class "Drawing a turtle"

It is appropriate after the fairy tale about Francoise and Fedya to invite the kids to portray a new girlfriend for the boy. Children of 4-5 years old perceive such drawing as a fun and exciting game. It will not be difficult for the guys to portray a turtle if they are offered a master class. The drawing can also be built on geometric shapes.

  1. First, an oval is drawn.
  2. The lower part of the oval is cut off by a straight segment, the excess is erased with an eraser. This will be the body of a turtle in a shell.
  3. Just above the lower segment of the shell, you should draw the head of a turtle. Its shape can be round, oval or uneven, but from below it, like a shell, is limited to a straight line segment.
  4. Along the edges of the lower part of the shell, you need to depict the paws with short segments of straight lines, which are slightly wider at the bottom than at the top. They can be made not even, but with several fingers.
  5. Behind the reptile, you need to draw a short tail.
  6. Be sure to put eyes and a mouth on the muzzle, otherwise Françoise will die of hunger and will not be able to see her best friend Fedya!
  7. The animal's shell has a pattern, so you need to ask the children to apply the ornament in the picture as well.
  8. Shades of green and brown are suitable for coloring.

From simple to complex

After mastering the simplest drawing skills, it is appropriate to move in this direction further. Take, for example, the object for the image is the cat Maruska, who lives in a neighboring yard and often basks in the sun next to the playground when the children go for a walk. The kids must have had a good look at it for a long time. And in order to have fewer problems with drawing, you can offer young artists a master class, where detailed step-by-step instructions are given. Although joint drawing will bring great benefits. For children 4 years old, it is very important to observe from the outside how adults themselves do what they ask kids to do.

Drawing is a very interesting kind of applied art, drawings with paints for children allow you to develop personal qualities in children, instill in them a sense of taste. Studying with a child, you can teach him to think, think, feel. It is especially useful to draw with paints with young children. After all, drawing a year, they develop fine motor skills of the hand, which is very useful for mental development.

At two years old, children not only willingly play with blocks, but also show interest in drawing. Here, mom has the opportunity to show all her creative imagination. You can draw almost anything. It can be chairs, toys, dishes, a beloved cat.

Drawings with paints for children will help to fully prepare the baby for further education at school. Firstly, hand coordination and fine motor skills for 4 years improve, and secondly, intelligence can be developed.

Well, making precise movements with a brush or pencil is a great way to prepare your hand for writing.

You can teach in a playful way to distinguish colors and paints, determine sizes and teach elementary counting. Drawing helps to cope with psychological complexes up to 7 years.

Since simple paint drawings can be started early enough, it is not necessary to wait until the child asks for drawing tools. To begin with, you can draw yourself, saying “look what I will draw,” and the baby can easily act as a spectator. A baby at 4 months of age will not yet be able to hold a pencil or brush.

At the same time, not only pencils and paints can act as materials. You can master finger painting with the help of fingers and palms.

What colors are suitable for children's creativity

To date, in stores you can buy paints that are ideal for children's creativity. Among them:

  • Special finger painting kits for children 2 years old.

  • Gouache paints - from the age of four.

  • Watercolor from 6 years old.

Since we plan to start drawing lessons from 2-3 years old, it is worth choosing finger ones. For children 3-4 years old, you can switch to gouache and watercolor.

Drawing with paints for children should not be monotonous. It is not necessary to color a regular sheet of paper. You need to gradually add new elements.

On the video: how to simply and beautifully draw an octopus with paints.

What drawings should I start with?

If we are learning to draw, then we need to start with the simplest. As you gain experience and skills, the task will become more difficult. Working with a child, you do not need to ensure that he does everything right. Children must go through the stage of marania. This stage continues until about two years of age. At first, the baby will simply scribble pencils on paper.

However, a little more can be taught at this time. Note:

  1. With children 2-3 years old, you can master the skills of working with a pencil, felt-tip pen and brush.
  2. From five, carefully put dots, make lines, circles, an oval, paint over drawings with strokes.
  3. With seven, it’s really possible to master the skills of composition.

Easy Drawing Lessons for Toddlers

These simple drawing lessons I usually spend with kids. Very interesting are children's drawings in the technique of finger painting. Here's how to do it:

  1. Invite your child to dip their finger into the paint. Now put your finger on a sheet of paper, you get a speck.
  2. Help draw a petal or some kind of caterpillar.
  3. Drawing lines, draw rays, like the sun.

Now let the child try to draw something himself. As his hands become more confident at 5 years old, you can teach him how to use a brush. You need to show the kid the three basic skills of drawing with a brush, show how to rinse it before picking up new paint.

There are several ways to paint with a brush:

  • Soaking. We draw, lightly touching the paper, and immediately remove the brush, causing spots of paint. Have a 3-year-old child observe how the image is made.
  • Brushstroke technique. Carefully draw lines from the age of 3 in a variety of directions. Let them differ in length.
  • Draw a sketch with a pencil with 8. First, make the main lines and sketch with a pencil, and then paint.

As skills develop, the tasks will become more difficult. There are some very interesting techniques. They can be mastered by conducting regular classes with the child. To consolidate a particular skill, several lessons are required.
