Fictional character and one of the main characters in the Harry Potter series of novels by British writer J. K. Rowling.
Ronald Bilius Weasley first appears in the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. and the Philosopher "s Stone), and becomes the best friend of Harry and Hermione Granger (Hermione Granger). He is one of seven children in a family of purebred wizards, whom, nevertheless, the Death Eaters consider "blood traitors" because of their sincere interest and sympathy their father to the Muggles.
Together with Harry and Hermione, Ron gets into Gryffindor (Gryffindor) and takes part in all the adventures of Potter. In the film adaptation of the novels, the role of Ron was played by British actor Rupert Grint.
According to Rowling, Ron was among the characters she came up with on the first day. In a sense, it was inspired by Sean Harris, Rowling's best friend, to whom the writer dedicated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Like Sean to her, Ron is always there for Harry when he needs him. As a character, Ron hasn't escaped much of the "protagonist's friend" stereotype - he often gets into trouble. funny situations, is always loyal to friendship, and lacks many of Harry's talents, at least in the realm of magic. Ron is tall, skinny and awkward. He is red, like all Weasleys, and freckled all over, blue-eyed, with a long nose and big hands and feet. He inherited many of his belongings from his older brothers, including a pet rat named Scabber. The older brothers often tease him in a non-violent way and not really wanting to hurt him, but Ron tends to react quite sharply to their words. He is very funny and has a good sense of humour, but is insensitive towards others and is the most immature of the three main characters.

First year at Hogwarts
Ron first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. When Harry is lost at King's Cross train station, he spots the Weasley family heading towards the barrier of Platform 9 ¾. Later, Ron and Harry end up in the same compartment on the Hogwarts Express. The boys quickly found mutual language and became best friends. Then Hermione Granger, a know-it-all, appears in the compartment, with whom they also unwittingly become familiar.
Harry, Ron and Hermione fall into the same house - Gryffindor. Hermione annoys the boys more and more with her omniscience. Soon, Harry and Ron have to save Hermione from a troll, and they become best friends.
Ron is playing important role in search of the philosopher's stone. After descending into the dungeon where the philosopher's stone was kept, Ron becomes the main strategist in a chess duel with enchanted pieces that are part of the guard. Ron appears in the pages of the second book of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in the third chapter, when Harry arrives at the Burrow.
Departing for Hogwarts from King's Cross Station, Harry and Ron were unable to get past the platform 9 ¾ barrier. The boys decide to take a flying Ford Anglia and take it to Hogwarts. As the friends reach the castle grounds, the car loses control and crashes, hitting the Whomping Willow. Ron's wand breaks in two. The car "offended" the passengers and left for the Forbidden Forest. Ron receives the Thunderbolt from his mother, who chastises him for taking the car. Ron unsuccessfully tries to fix his wand.
To find out if Malfoy is the heir of Slytherin, Ron drinks a Polyjuice Potion with Harry, transforming into Crabbe and Goyle, respectively.
In the Chamber of Secrets, Zlatopust, Lokons attempts to erase the boys' memories using Ron's wand. In vain. The spell works on reverse side and Lockons loses his memory. A blockage forms, separating Harry from Ron and Lockheed. Harry goes looking for Ginny alone. After defeating the Basilisk, all four make it out of the Chamber of Secrets safely.

At Hogwarts, a new teacher - Remus Lupin - teaches third-year students protection from dark arts. At one of the lessons are boggarts. In front of Ron, the boggart takes the form of a giant spider, which he subsequently successfully transforms into a roller-skating spider with the Ridiculus spell.
When his rat goes missing, Ron blames Hermione's cat, Crookshanks.
Later, Ron is attacked by Sirius Black in the guise of a dog, while Ron himself remains almost unharmed (he broke his ankle, catching it on the root of the Whomping Willow, when Sirius dragged him into the hole).

When Harry was chosen by the Goblet of Fire to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, Ron got angry at his friend. After Harry passes the first test of the Tournament, Ron realizes that the Tournament is very dangerous and Harry did not want to participate in it. Ron apologizes to Harry.
Ron goes to the Yule Ball with Padma Patil.
During the second test, where the champions had to get their friends out of the Black Lake, Harry had to get Ron.

Ron became head boy of Gryffindor. He is one of the few who believe in Voldemort's return. He was a member of Dumbledore's Army, along with five other members went to the Ministry of Magic, participated in the battle in the Department of Mysteries.

Harry becomes the new captain of the Quidditch team and chooses Ron to be the goalkeeper. Ron's main competitor is Cormac McLaggen.
Ron starts dating Lavender Brown; however, after a while they part: Ron eats the sweets soaked in the Love Potion from Romilda Vane and Harry leads him to Slughorn. There, Ron drinks the mead poisoned by Malfoy and ends up in the hospital wing. There he, being in a swoon, pronounces the name of Hermione. At the end, Ron decides to go with Harry and Hermione to look for Voldemort's Horcruxes.

During the summer, Ron takes part in Operation Seven Potters by drinking Polyjuice Potion. Ron agrees to go with Harry to find the Dark Lord's Horcruxes. Fearing for the health of his family, Ron spreads the news that he has shingles and is at home.
Dumbledore bequeaths his Deluminator to Ron. During Bill and Fleur's wedding, the Burrow is attacked by Death Eaters. Harry, Ron and Hermione are transgressing to London. In a cafe, they are attacked by Rowley and Dolokhov. The friends go to the Ministry and steal the Slytherin Medallion. Trying to escape from Yaxley, Hermione changes direction during a transgression, and Ron splits in the shoulder area.
Ron wears a Slytherin locket, which is a Horcrux, on himself, which has a bad effect on him. He argues with his friends and leaves. Later, he still decides to return, saves Harry Potter and destroys the medallion with the sword of Gryffindor. Informs friends about the taboo imposed on Voldemort's name. Appearance
Ron Weasley looks like the most ordinary young man with fiery red hair and blue eyes. Him a long nose, feet and hands, and the face is all in funny freckles. Mrs. Weasley gave her a displeased look, argued with Ginny, Harry, Ron and Hermione, but still agreed. It turned out that Hermione had outdone herself. She not only successfully transgressed with Ginny, but also flew there the very first. The whole family even patted her. Except Mrs Weasley. She still looked at her in disbelief, and then at her and Ron's hands entwined together.
It was already about six in the evening. Mrs. Weasley invited everyone to the table. The first toast was raised to the dead Tonks and Lupin. And the second for the fact that everything is finally over. Everyone went to bed much earlier. Ron and Harry were getting into bed when Ron exclaimed:
"I don't understand why she's so angry that Hermione and I are together?"
- Who?

There was a knock at the door. Standing in front of them were Hermione and Ginny in pajamas with pillows.

When they went downstairs for breakfast, Mrs. Weasley asked them to tell them in detail what they had with the boys. Hermione went on to tell them in detail how she and Ron had been arguing all through sixth year, but then Ron had finally stopped fooling around and asked her out on a date. Then she began to tell Ginny:
“Harry told me that in his fifth year, you know, in your sixth year, he was in trouble all year because of Ron. He couldn't confess his love to me whole year!! He was afraid that Ron would declare him a traitor. Yes, I love him from the first course!
"Really?" Harry emerged from behind the kitchen door with a sort of smug smirk and hugged her.
“Oh, well, otherwise you don’t know!” she answered him.
“Well, what about Dean and Michael Korner?”
Well, I just liked them. I was ready to leave them at any moment for you. And when she felt that you like me, she left Dean at his first misstep, - Harry leaned to her ear and whispered: "I love you" so that only she could hear. Those words sent goosebumps through her body, and she dropped her fork into her plate. Her cheeks flushed. Then they heard Mrs. Weasley sobbing.
- Mom, what happened?
"Mrs. Weasley, what happened?" Harry and Ginny said at the same time.

There were no incidents for the rest of the week. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny were playing Quidditch or just laying in the clearing. There were times when Mrs. Weasley made them do some work, or they all walked together to Diagon Alley to visit Fred and George. The twins always greeted them warmly and showered them with discounts on all their products. True, they did not stay there for a long time, because a bunch of fans piled on the guys, and especially on Harry, eager to hear a story about the fight against the Death Eaters and Voldemort. There, at Hogwarts, Ron becomes the object of ridicule from the son of the head of the board of trustees of the school of witchcraft and one of the supporters of Voldemort, Lucius Draco Malfoy.
Ron plays an important role in the search for the Philosopher's Stone. After descending into the dungeon where the philosopher's stone was kept, the boy becomes the main strategist in a chess duel with enchanted pieces that are part of the guard. He gets injured and cannot continue forward. However, Harry managed to defeat Professor Quirrell in a duel, with the help of which Voldemort tried to master the philosopher's stone. Thanks to Ron, Dumbledore awarded Gryffindor 50 points at the end of the school year ("for the best chess game in the history of Hogwarts").
Second year at Hogwarts
Ron appears in the pages of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets book two when he and the twins take Harry away from the Dursleys. Harry arrives at the Burrow, the Weasley's home, and meets Ron's father and mother. Soon, Ron's family and Harry arrive in Diagon Alley via Flying Powder and get to the presentation of Professor Lockons' new book. There, at the presentation, the Gryffindor trinity encounters the father and son Malfoys, and Lucius throws Tom Riddle's diary (one of the Dark Lord's Horcruxes) to Ron's sister Ginny.
Departing for Hogwarts from King's Cross Station, Harry and Ron were unable to get past the platform 9 ¾ barrier. The boys decide to take a flying Ford Anglia and take it to Hogwarts. As the friends reach the castle grounds, the car loses control and crashes, hitting the Whomping Willow. Ron's wand breaks in two. The car "takes offense" at the passengers and leaves for the Forbidden Forest. Ron receives the Thunderbolt from his mother, who chastises him for taking the car. The boy unsuccessfully tries to fix his wand, which was damaged during a collision between a car and a willow, using magic tape. And the most unpleasant case was Ron's attempt to curse Draco Malfoy for calling Hermione a "mudblood". Ron's spell hit him, and Ron had to regurgitate the slugs for a while.
Throughout the year, Ron, Harry and Hermione learn about the Heir of Slytherin and the open Chamber of Secrets and suspect Draco of this, and Tom Riddle's diary, which Ginny tried to get rid of, falls into the hands of Potter Jr. Once, on the advice of Hagrid, who was framed by Tom Riddle Jr. in connection with the murder of Moaning Myrtle, after the spiders, Ron and Harry wander into the very thicket Forbidden Forest and they find Aragog there. Aragog is a giant acromantula spider, Hagrid's favorite. He managed to escape into the forest and establish a colony. Aragog gave the boys valuable information, but they barely escaped from there: after all, only Rubeus Hagrid could visit these places without fear. Harry and Ron, with the help of Hermione, who managed to see the Basilisk - the monster of the Chamber of Secrets, penetrate with Lockons into the very room into which the giant snake dragged Ginny.
Third year at Hogwarts
The Weasley family wins the lottery in the summer a large number of galleons and goes to Egypt. Later, upon returning to London, Ron meets Harry and Hermione at the Leaky Cauldron. There, the Gryffindor trinity learns that a dangerous criminal, the animagus Sirius Black, has escaped from Azkaban prison. Harry, Ron, and Hermione travel to Hogwarts, but they encounter a Dementor along the way, although they receive protection from the werewolf Remus Lupin.
