02.03.2019

The opening of the 62nd will start very soon international competition"Eurovision".

The opening of the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest will start very soon. Last year the winner of this music competition became Ukrainian Jamala with the composition "1944", so "Eurovision-2017" will be held in Ukraine.

So, the event will take place in the largest exhibition space in Ukraine - the International Exhibition Center, which is located on the left bank of Kyiv.

Initially, the dates of the Eurovision-2017 were in the second half of May, but later it was decided to hold the semi-finals - May 9 and May 11, and the final part of the song contest will be held on May 13, 2017. After that, it will be clear who will win the Eurovision 2017. It depends on where the competition will be held next year.

The composition of the hosts will be interesting at Eurovision 2017 - for the first time in the history of the contest, this trio will consist only of men.

This year Eurovision will feature participants from 43 countries, as Portugal and Romania have decided to return. Representatives of Australia will also participate in the event, having received special permission from the organizers.

As part of the selection of an internal competition in Russia, the winner was Yulia Samoilova, who was supposed to represent the country at international event. However, the Security Service of Ukraine announced a ban on the entry of the singer to Ukraine. This is due to the fact that earlier Samoilova performed in Crimea without the consent of the Ukrainian authorities, who consider the peninsula their territory.

The European Broadcasting Union said that it regrets the decision of the SBU, because it is contrary to the spirit of the contest. Previously, Eurovision participants were not prevented from performing on the territory of a particular country.

The organizers of the music competition offered Russia their way out of the current situation. For the first time in the history of Eurovision, the EBU took exceptional measures by offering to organize a live broadcast from the territory Russian Federation so that Yulia Samoilova has the opportunity to perform in front of an audience of millions in the semi-finals. And later in the Eurovision 2017 final, if it gets to the final by voting.

The first channel of Russia, in response to the proposal, rejected this initiative, and promised that Samoilova would perform at Eurovision next year. Kyiv, in turn, also stated that broadcasting from Russia is unacceptable, as this would be a violation of the laws of Ukraine.

In April 2017, the European Broadcasting Union issued a statement that Russia refused to participate in Eurovision 2017, the country refused to replace the contestant, as well as to broadcast live from Russia.

Other countries will be represented by very talented singers who will perform according to a draw.

A potential favorite to win the competition is Italy, represented by Francesco Gabbani. He will fulfill beautiful song"Occidentali's Karma". In addition to him, the main contender for the prize is a participant from Belgium. In addition, bookmakers think that Sweden, represented by young singer Robin Bengtsson, can also take a leading position.

There is very little time left, in a few days the whole world will be able to watch colorful show Eurovision 2017 and find out who will be honored and win the international competition.

On the eve of the competition, "Vesti" collected in one article all the most interesting things about the main song event of the year.

Only a few days are left before the official start of Eurovision-2017 in Kyiv.

Guests and participants of the competition are already filling the capital, rehearsals are thundering on the eurostage, bookmakers are accepting bets, and swindlers are testing new "divorce" schemes. The hosts prepare costumes and rehearse smiles. By the way, for the first time in long history Eurovision will be hosted by three men at once - Vladimir Ostapchuk, Alexander Skichko and Timur Miroshnichenko.

On the eve of the competition, "Vesti" collected in one article all the most interesting things about the main song event of the year. Let's start with dates.

Eurovision 2017: date

May 4th– the Eurotown on Khreshchatyk was opened, where guests and residents of Kyiv will be able to watch live broadcasts, as well as various entertainment programs and concerts. There are also special food courts.

May 7- the so-called "red carpet", that is, the solemn opening ceremony of Eurovision 2017. It should be noted that the Kiev track of the contest will be the longest in the history of Eurovision - 265 meters. It will be located next to the Mariinsky Palace near the building of the Verkhovna Rada.

May 9 and 11– semi-finals of the competition, in which the contestants will compete for a place in the final.

Eurovision 2017 and Samoilova

However, before even having time to start, Eurovision-2017 attracted the attention of the world community with a scandal with a Russian contestant.

Recall that the Security Service of Ukraine banned Samoilova from entering the territory of Ukraine for three years because of her speech in Crimea. As a result, Eurovision-2017 was left without Russian performer: In mid-April, the European Broadcasting Union previously officially confirmed that Russia would not take part in Eurovision, as it did not agree to the proposed alternatives after Ukraine's refusal to let Samoilova into the country.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Eurovision Supervisory Board, Frank-Dieter Freiling, noted that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities are contrary to the spirit of the contest. "We strongly condemn Kiev's decision to ban Yulia Samoilova from entering Ukraine and believe that it undermines the integrity and non-political nature of the competition and its mission to unite all countries in a friendly competition," he said, in connection with the international scandal that arose.

After that, Channel One announced that it would not broadcast Eurovision 2017 due to Kyiv's refusal to accept the Russian contestant.

Ukraine has even managed to accuse Russia of creating a negative atmosphere around Eurovision. The organizers believe that the goal of the Russian side was not to participate in the competition, but to create negative information in the information space.

However, Samoilova has already been promised that she will become the first participant in Eurovision 2018.

And although the singer will not perform at this year's Eurovision, we still invite you to read the text and translation of Yulia Samoilova's song.

Who will represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2017

However, the Ukrainians themselves, of course, for the most part root for their participant. Rock band O.Torvald will represent our country this year with the song Time. We have also already published the text and translation of the song by O.Torvald "Time".

Favorites of Eurovision 2017

To which of the Eurovision 2017 participants do analysts predict victory?

Unfortunately, so far the bookmakers give away O.Torvald last place at Eurovision 2017. The only consolation is the reason for such a decision: experts attribute the fact that O.Torvald has not yet had official rehearsals - so when people see him, the situation may change.

According to the latest data, the first and second places - without changes - Italy and Bulgaria, but the Swedish participant according to bwin was pressed by the Portuguese participant. And after the rehearsal, Armenia came in fifth place - their chances of winning are estimated at 1 to 17.

Eurovision and swindlers

Dodgers are already preparing to make money on "naive" foreign guests. For example, in the center of the Ukrainian capital, a trade in nesting dolls adorned with portraits of politicians was launched, among the images you can find a nesting doll with ex-US President Barack Obama, USSR leader Joseph Stalin, as well as souvenirs with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

According to users, for foreigners the price of nesting dolls is 850 UAH, and for Ukrainians - 450 UAH. "Vesti" found out that such an unusual course is not uncommon, so a few dozen meters from the mothers, guests of the capital are offered predictions. For a "prophetic" message, foreigners are asked for a dollar, and Ukrainians - 2 hryvnias.

Users have already managed to joke about the fact that at the time of Eurovision in Kyiv they returned the exchange rate of 1996, which in that year according to the NBU was 1.76.

Raised prices and taxi drivers. "Vesti.Reporter" made an unusual story about how our capital will appear in the eyes of an ordinary tourist - with new rates for taxi drivers, potholes on the roads and its oddities when exchanging currencies.

It is worth noting that in the official Eurovision fan zone, which will open on May 4, it will not be possible to pay with the hryvnia.

Eurovision 2017: tickets

However, the official organizers of the contest are also "cunning". For example, about two thousand tickets were sold for Eurovision 2017 for non-existent or unsuitable for viewing places.

The overlay occurred due to the fact that the sale of tickets began even before the site for the competition was rebuilt. But during construction, the seating arrangement for spectators in the hall changed. So after preparing the premises, it turned out that some places could not be located according to the preliminary design.

Recall that tickets for all shows of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 went on sale on April 29 at 14.00 on the website of the official ticket agent Concert.ua.

Representatives of the European Broadcasting Union are confident that the Eurovision 2017 contest will be held in Ukraine - in one of the three cities chosen by the Ukrainian national broadcaster NKTU. The organizers of Eurovision excluded holding the show in another country.

“The host city will be announced in in due course, and any changes will be indicated on the Eurovision website, - radio station Moscow Says quotes the answer to the EBU.

For the first time, the information that the EBU could take away from Ukraine the right to host the competition if the place of its holding is not named before the beginning of October appeared in Izvestia on Thursday, September 8. If this happens, the publication wrote, the competition will be hosted by Australia (second place in 2016), and Russia, which took third place, will be the co-organizer.

Recall that Ukrainian singer Jamala won the Eurovision 2016 final with the song "1944" and won the right to host the next contest for her country. The victory caused a natural stir in Ukraine, the singer was awarded the title People's Artist, she became an honorary resident of Kyiv, and her performance fees increased several times.

At first, the obligation to accept the competition did not cause any difficulties for the Ukrainian broadcaster NKTU.

Several cities offered their services at once - except for Kyiv, which participates in this race by default, Eurovision was ready to accept Lviv, Kharkov, Kherson, Odessa and Dnipro (formerly Dnepropetrovsk). However, by mid-summer, three leaders emerged - Kyiv, Odessa and the Dnieper, and the victory of Kyiv seemed the most obvious. This city already hosted Eurovision in 2005 (after Ruslana's victory in Istanbul), then the show was held on the stage of the Sports Palace, which is now, in principle, ready to provide its services. The capacity of this arena is 10,000 people (enough for Eurovision), but the Ice Hockey World Championship is scheduled there at the end of April, so there is very little time left to prepare the stage for the music competition. But in Kyiv there is also a spare site - International Exhibition Center(IEC, 13 thousand seats). Odessa can offer only the Chernomorets stadium, where it is supposed to build a structure covered with an awning (the stadium itself can accommodate 35 thousand and was reconstructed several years ago), and Dnipro is a multi-sport complex that was the home arena of the local football club, and for Eurovision must be completely refurbished.

Initially, the announcement of the city that will host Eurovision 2017 was scheduled for the end of July, but then was postponed indefinitely.

Discussions do not stop until now, and at the end of August, the head of the NKTU, Zurab Alasania, said on his Facebook that Kiev and Odessa had become leaders - these cities seem to be the most prepared, but each of them has drawbacks in terms of organizing the show.

Later, the same Alasania called the issue of choosing a city political.

“In my opinion, the question of which city will host Eurovision is a political one. The case is between President [Peter] Poroshenko and Prime Minister [Vladimir] Groysman. Only these two people know what is happening,” he told Interfax-Ukraine at the end of August.

It is curious that the declaration of the city was canceled several times in last moment. So, the press conference was supposed to be held on September 5, but it was postponed to a later date - perhaps due to the publication in the Odessa "Southern Courier", which, citing unnamed sources, said that Odessa was chosen as the venue for Eurovision.

Now in Ukraine they promise to make a decision in the very near future - on Friday, September 9th.

In these circumstances, the opinion of the European Broadcasting Union, published in Izvestia, looks like an attempt to speed up the process of choosing the host city of Eurovision 2017, which has been going on for a month and a half.

“We are closely watching how the three cities are stubbornly fighting for the right to host the competition, but do not know when the final decision will be officially announced. The deadline is no later than the beginning of October, ”the publication quotes the words of a representative of the EBU press service.

Representatives of Channel One declined to comment officially until the situation was clarified. However, expect that the competition will take place in Russia, still not worth it. There were several cases in the history of the contest when countries refused to hold it after winning: for example, Monaco in 1972 referred to the lack of suitable venues, and Israel in 1980 to the fact that the country was switching to color broadcasting just then and there was no extra money. Luxembourg also complained about the lack of money in 1974.

There are no firm rules in case a country refuses to hold a competition in the EBU, and when this did happen, the UK always came to the rescue.

This time, the hosting right could indeed go to Australia (if the local broadcaster agrees to allocate money for an expensive show), but in this case, the country in which the 2017 contest will be held will have to be chosen. In its clarifications for Eurovision 2016, the first in which Australia took part on a permanent basis, the EBU said that if its representative wins, the co-organizers will be the Australian broadcaster SBS and a broadcaster from any European country- without specifying which one. On the sidelines of the competition before the final, Germany was called as the most prepared for such a development of events.

But it is most likely that in the near future Ukraine will still decide on the city where Eurovision 2017 will be held. The country's government has already allocated €15 million for the competition; most of them are compensated by the EBU (through sponsors and contributions from the participating countries), but this will only happen after the end of the show, which in any case will take place in May 2017.
