Under the wise guidance of Kirill Vladimirovich Polikarpov, director of the VGV cartoon studio, the children fulfilled their dream of making their own cartoon. It was amazing to watch how the eyes of the little creators burned.

MOSCOW, 16 November. /TASS/. The exhibition "Watch Me Move: Legends and Faces of World Animation", which will introduce visitors to the world's main animators and animation studios, will open on November 18 at VDNKh. This was reported to TASS on Monday by the press service of VDNKh.

Visitors will learn about the authors of the first black-and-white cartoons: about the inventor of the "chronophotographic apparatus" and photogun Etienne-Jules Mare, about the inventor Emile Reynaud, who showed the first cartoon, and about the author of the first science fiction film, Georges Méliès. Also at the exhibition you can learn about the work of directors new wave animations - Patrick Bokanowski, Harun Farocki, Nick Park and others.

The exhibition includes more than 150 exhibits, including cartoons, animated comics, sketches, storyboards and character models, as well as vintage cameras and film projectors. Also at the exhibition you can see best sketches major animation studios, among which Walt Disney, Warner Bros., Pixar, Fleischer, Aardman and others.

The exhibition is divided into seven thematic blocks. The first hall - the "Phantoms" hall - will resurrect "prehistoric epochs" in the memory of the audience. For example, the film "Phantasmagoria" by Emile Cohl (1908), "Dance" Serpentine "by the Lumiere brothers (1897-1899) and" Explosion passenger car" Cecil Hepworth (1900). In the Hall of Heroes they will tell about the most popular characters cartoons - about Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, about Bugs Bunny and the Flintstones, as well as about new social projects who conquered new generations - oh " south park"," Futurama "and" The Simpsons ".

Blocks "Legends" and "Episodes" will show visitors the myths and fairy tales in cartoons, introducing them to "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" by Walt Disney (1937) and "The Story of Rapunzel" by Ray Harryhausen (1952). Also in these blocks will be shown cartoons designed to educate new generations, prevent tragedies and spread the truth. For example, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" became a reflection on the theme of labor rights, "Animal Farm" rebels against Stalinism, and "Betty Boop" fights for the emancipation of women.

Block "Superhumans" will present key theme post-war animation: superheroes and villains opposing them. In this room, visitors will learn more about Popeye the Sailor, the Hulk and the Incredibles. The "Forms" block will give the audience an excursion into the history of audiovisual experiments, and the "Ideas" hall will show cartoons of the late 20th century and early XXI, leaning to the side virtual reality and computer games.

The exhibition will run until February 14, 2016. In December, the animation theme at VDNKh will be supplemented by the exhibition "UNREAL HEROES", dedicated to the artists and characters of Soyuzmultfilm.
