Have you remembered the old legendary strategy that conquered many players in its time? There are players on the Internet who still play Heroes 3. We will describe how to play with them or with our friends in this article.

This assembly includes 3 parts of the game "Heroes of Might and Magic III", these are "Revival of Erathia", "Blade of Armageddon" and "Breath of Death". To play on the network must be version 4.0. The game is fully Russified and already pre-patched. You don't have to put anything on top of it.

1. How to play Heroes of Might & Magic 3 with GameRanger

After installation and registration in GameRanger, select the My Games tab and see the rooms where they play Heroes 3. If the rooms are not displayed, then select Options in the program, look for the Heroes of Might and Magic 3 game in the list and specify the directory to the .exe file manually

Choose a room or create it yourself by clicking on Host. In the room, after the players have gathered, the creator presses Start and everyone starts the game. You will be automatically connected later in the game

If you were the host, then you are setting up the game. If connected, then wait until the host launches and then you can play)

There is also an HD mod for Heroes 3, a modification that allows you to set a higher resolution. You can also play with Hd mod over the network, but other players must also have it installed then. There are few people in GameRanger who use it.

2. How to play Heroes of Might and Magic 3 through Tunngle.

After downloading and registering in Tunngle, we find the network where Heroes 3 is played.

In the game choose A new game-> Multiplayer -> TCP/IP . And here we see a list of created games.

We go into the open or create a game ourselves

We are waiting for the launch and play)

3. How to play Heroes of Might and Magic 3 through Hamachi

One person creates a virtual network in Hamachi. The rest of the players connect to the network by specifying its name.

After all gathered in one network. We start the game. In the game menu: New Game -> Network Game -> TCP/IP.

One of the players presses Server. The rest select Loupa (Search for a game) and then indicate the IP of the player who created the server. You need to specify the IP that the player has in Hamachi! It is written before the nickname and starts with 25.

Video of the multiplayer game Heroes of Might and Magic III. / Instruction

Step #2 Multi-User Menu

Click on the Multiplayer game button. You see 2 buttons.
The first button is a game on one computer in turn (hotsit). The second button is a game over the network (via the Internet)

Click on the second button!

Step #3 Network Lobby

In the network lobby (room) you can join one of the created games or create your own*.

To join the game, click on the name of the game (7), then on Join (2).

To update the list of games, press the update list button (3).

If after several updates the list is still empty, read the footnote below.
There are two types of games: open - anyone can join and closed - you can join only if you know the password or if they send an invite (invitation). A password is needed in order not to add a person as a friend, for example, he wrote on the forum: “created a game, enter password 123”, but I strongly recommend using only an invite. If you see a picture of a closed padlock to the left of the game name in the lobby (8), it is a closed game.

To create a game, click the Create (server) button (1).

You will see two fields.

The first field is the name of your game, the name of the game is required, the default is "My game". The second field is the password for the game, you can leave it blank for an open game or fill it in if you want to create closed game.

*Due to the crooked nature of the developers, you may not see all the games created, and even if you see that someone created the game (yes, it happens) and joined, no one guarantees you a comfortable game, you may be kicked out of the game on the first turn or you will be tormented by receiving move data A couple of minutes. Also, if you created open game, it is very likely that no one will come to you for a variety of reasons, for example, blocking by a firewall or antivirus. But do not worry in advance, there is a way out! Read on.

Step #4 Wait for someone to come in or invite yourself

And so, you created a game. If the game is open, then expect someone to come to you * or invite your friend (s) to the game. If the game is closed, there is no choice, you can invite a friend to the game or tell someone the password.
You will see that you have been joined in the area under the chat, the player's nickname will be written there (2). You can chat with other players (1). (send message Enter "om)

Show available scenarios

Here (1) you choose the map on which you will play, you can also sort the maps by various parameters, more details below.

Available cards

You can choose one of the available cards. The cards differ in size (6, 3) , number of players (2) , victory condition (4) and defeat condition (5) . Also, the map may or may not have a dungeon.

Card dimensions(6, 3):

  • small - S (36x36)
  • medium - M (72x72)
  • large - L (108x108)
  • extra large - XL (144x144)

Number of players (2)

The possible number of players depends on the map: minimum 2, maximum 8. If you see in the column the number of players is (2) 3/2 or 5/3. This means that there is a closed slot on the map that you cannot choose, it will be played by the AI. If you want to play with someone in an alliance, then you need to find a card that was pre-created with this possibility. To see if you can play on the map with an ally, look at (7) on the left, the number of allies and their colors are indicated.

In this case, we have 2 allies (red and green), 2 allies (blue and orange) also play against them. An ally sees your movements, and your card as it opens up and cannot attack you, so allies can transfer resources to each other through the market.
Before playing, make sure you have navigated to the slot right color!

Victory condition (4)

The object of the game is to fulfill the victory condition Have a good mood and nicely given time. When the victory condition is met, the game ends for all participants in the game. Be careful and always read the win condition, especially when playing online.

Possible victory conditions:

  • Kill all heroes and capture all enemy castles (default)
  • Get a certain artifact
  • Accumulate a certain amount of creatures
  • Accumulate resources
  • Build a grail
  • Kill a specific hero
  • Capture a specific city
  • Kill a specific monster
  • Capture all dwellings of creatures
  • Capture all resource sources
  • Transfer Artifact

Defeat conditions (5)

If the defeat condition is met, the game ends (for you). Be careful, the loss of all heroes and castles leads to defeat by default. If you lose all the castles, you are given 7 days to capture the castle back, or find a new one, if after 7 days you do not have a castle, your hero will disappear (die) and you will lose.

Possible damage conditions.

  • Loss of all heroes and castles (default)
  • Loss of a specific hero
  • Upon expiration

Game difficulty (8)

The game has 5 difficulty levels, the only difference between which is the amount of initial resources that the Player and AI will receive. Please note that when changing the difficulty level, the AI does not receive any benefits.

Difficulty level

Starting Bonus: Wood and Ore

Mercury, sulfur, crystals, gems. stones

Pawn (80%)

Rook (130%)

Queen (160%)

King (200%)

The difficulty level also affects the number of points you get for winning at the end of the game. In the formula, this is R (from 0.8 to 2)

The number of points received for a victory is calculated by the formula
Q=*R,
Where:
Q - The number of points received for the victory;
D - The number of in-game days spent;
B - bonus for defeating all enemies (25 points) - however, if the condition "Defeat all enemies" was not indicated on the map, this bonus will not count.
G - Grail bonus (25 points)
R is the game difficulty factor. Maximum value coefficient - 2. The coefficient of complexity is chosen by the player before starting the game on the map.

Additional options (10)

Player color (12).

The color of the player determines which score he will move, as well as the color of the interface. To change the color of the player, click on the flag of the corresponding color on the left (12).

Player type (18).

There are two types of AI (computer) and Human players. To swap places with an AI or a human, change the color (12). On some maps, swapping with AI is not possible because the slot is closed (4/2 type cards).

Interference (13).

IN network game you can complicate the game to one of the players or AI. Useful in cases where you are a weak player and it is difficult for you to play against the AI, or if you are playing with an obviously difficult opponent and he wants to give you a head start. By default, interference is disabled and everyone is on an equal footing.

Interferences are:

  • Medium hindrance: Government gives 425 gold/day, Prefecture 850 gold/day, Municipality 1700 gold/day, Capitol 3400 gold/day. This is 15% less than in the absence of interference. Also, gold mines give 850 gold/day instead of 1000. Sawmills and mines give 1 resource/day instead of 2, the rest of the mines do not give anything.
  • Big hindrance: Government/Prefecture/Municipality/Capitol/Gold mines yield 30% less, respectively 350/700/1400/2800/700, Sawmills and mines yield 1 resource/day, other mines yield nothing.

Source City (14).

Here you can choose one of 8 cities or put a random city, in which case you will get a random city. On some maps, the city cannot be changed, this is not a mistake, it was intended by the creators of the map.

Source Hero (15).

Here you can choose one of 15 heroes or put a random hero. On some maps, there is no initial hero or it is impossible to change it, this is not a mistake, as it was intended by the creators of the map.

Initial bonus (16).

Here you can choose one of the bonuses that your starting hero: resource, gold (500-1000) or artifact.

Initial bonus resource, for different castles.

Four days ago, Lumpawarroo on Reddit unexpectedly wrote a huge treatise that shows the most notorious character in the prequel trilogy, Jar Jar Binks, in a new light, and suggests that he will play a key role in The Force Awakens. We publish the translation of his notes.

To start, let's suppose Jar Jar is an experienced warrior. While this does not in itself imply a connection to the Tangible Force, it is very likely in the world of Star Wars that it is not often that we see "ordinary" characters endowed with unusual agility and skill, unless they are Jedi, Sith, or at least untouched by the Force.

If you omit the context, when you're watching a Star Wars movie and a character just does a stunt like that, you'll probably think he's a Jedi. In the context of Jar Jar, however, we don't think so...because he has convincingly proved to us earlier that he is nothing more than a harmless oaf, idler, and coward.

He also manages to convince us that in the midst of an important battle, he is just a clumsy fool ... At the same time, he Always incredibly, amazingly successful. And when he single-handedly destroys a tank of droids, and scattering a cart of bombs on their ranks, and accurately hitting several enemies from a blaster caught on his leg (!) - we just roll our eyes and attribute everything to stupid "luck".

But is it her? Obi-Wan warned otherwise.

One of the main reasons why we viewers hate Jar Jar so much: he breaks the "fourth wall", he breaks through our "illusion of reality", because we understand that no one can be so lucky. We dismiss it as a stupid, clichéd cliché - a stupid, hopeless oaf who nonchalantly saves the day every time.

I argue, on the contrary, that this is a deliberate cover played by Jar Jar as a character, and partly supported by writers and animators. As we know, the Jedi were inspired by the Shaolin monks, one of whose kung fu techniques Jar Jar's movements are modeled on - and it makes him look so stupid and clumsy even when he kills enemies in batches. This is Zui Quan wushu style, "Drunken Fist". This technique attempts to mimic "staggering," seemingly random lunges from a drunkard, but in reality, staggering and stumbling uses body momentum, deception, and unpredictability to lead and confuse the opponent.

Let's take a closer look at Ja-Ja using wushu techniques (comparison videos are taken from Zui Quan instructional video):

…Okay, so be it, but even If Jar Jar secretly practices "drunken fist", that doesn't make him a Force warrior, does it? Well, that should at the very least give us some suspicion about his character. It shows that his excessive, childish antics mask much more complex character than they want to show us. But even if you choose to ignore the almost magical foresight in combat, I think I have one episode in which we clearly we see him exercising tangible Power...

In "The Phantom Menace", when Jar Jar and the Jedi ambush the droids and save the Queen and her entourage, Jar Jar "accidentally" fails the balcony jump. A couple of frames later, he jumps off opposite the edge of the balcony, which is hardly possible without a Force jump and/or a very fast dash. Let's watch this episode:

(Note that while they are sneaking around, Jar Jar hides just as easily as his Jedi companions. Interesting.)

And so, as I said, we see Jar Jar grabbing onto the balcony on the right, but then he jumps off far to the left. Easily dismissed as a connectivity or framing error, of course... Except one of the droids keeps firing where Jar Jar was while he jumped off somewhere else!

See the droid coming attacking just behind the one Qui-Gon took down? What is he shooting at? And see how his head turns to Jar Jar's new position after being shot? Behind him, another droid is visible, turning its head after Jar Jar and firing at the landing site. That is, the animators knew perfectly well where Jar Jar must was to be - hanging on the balcony over Qui-Gon's left shoulder - and deliberately depicted as droids following his inexplicably fast movement to another point.

I think that's what happened here, although we don't see it: Jar Jar deliberately distracted the attention of the enemies by grabbing the balcony as he fell, and then (using the Force) threw himself, with a flip-up, to an unexpected place.

Now let's look at the key episodes for political career Ja-Ja:

Additional arguments in favor of this theory, the list of which is constantly growing,as well as pictures and videos about dark side Jar Jar can be seen on the Darth Jar Jar website, created almost immediately after the article was published.

Now let's look at the key episodes for Jar Jar's political career:

Jar Jar waving his arms in front of his promotion to general
Jar Jar waving his arms ahead of his promotion to the Senate
Jar Jar uses Force persuasion, brandishing in front of the entire Galactic Senate and helping to mortify democracy.

Anyway, if you watch the prequels with the idea that Jar Jar can be manipulative, dark character, you will begin to notice how insidious and imperceptible his manipulations are, and how effective he is in almost every episode with his participation, and how much he is aware of the overall plot.

Examples: Ja-Ja convinces the Jedi to fly through the planet's core (proved to be indispensable). Jar Jar neatly arranges a skirmish and everyone stumbles upon Anakin. Jar Jar constantly taunts Qui-Gon behind his back while Anakin watches (and learns to disrespect the Jedi authorities of his childhood). Jar Jar informs the eight-year-old that the Queen is "pretty hot", stoking the furnace of childhood crushes that is used later. I can go on and on.

Well, if you have any faith in me after all, and accept the possibility that Jar Jar might not be so stupid, then you'll have to admit that Jar Jar Binks and Palpatine were co-conspirators. If Jar Jar is knowingly playing to mislead people, that means he's not a fool... And if he's not a fool, then his actions in Episode II, which aid Palpatine's plans, are not being done by an ignorant fool - but partner.

Remember: Palpatine and Jar Jar were born on the same planet, which, on the scale of the Star Wars universe, is like growing up in neighboring porches. It is entirely possible that they knew each other years before the events of The Phantom Menace - it is possible that they studied together, or one taught the other. And Naboo is a rather strange planet, actually; remember those strange ancient statues with a third eye? Naboo is a place where a "hermit" Gungan can find a couple of holocrons with Sith knowledge.

But this is speculation. Let's not digress from what we know: for example, that even when Palpatine was chosen as Chancellor, years after Jar Jar was "tricked" into helping him, Palpatine is seen with Jar Jar in Revenge of the Sith (see below). frame). How so? Wouldn't that be a source of constant public humiliation? Isn't that the same character that can't walk two meters without stepping into poop and howling like a mad donkey? What is the use of him now? Why is he still right hand the most powerful being in the galaxy? Maybe, in fact, Ja-Ja and eat the most powerful being in the galaxy!?

OK. May be. Fascinating conspiracy theory, but why would George Lucas go to the trouble of creating this cunning gungan with an elaborate conspirator background and then never show his real face?

That's what George Lucas (in documentary) says about Yoda:

"The character of Yoda comes from traditional myths and fairy tales - about the hero who stumbles upon a small creature by the road, which seems very insignificant and not very important, but then turns out to be a powerful wizard, or an essential character ... "

As we know, one of Lucas' ideas for the prequels was to "rhyme" and mirror the original trilogy in the context of the overall narrative. So there and must was to be a seemingly harmless being found along the way, which would prove to be important character. And we have There is a creature that perfectly fits the description - Jar Jar ... True, he never becomes a significant person.

Here's what I think happened: I think Jar Jar was originally supposed to be the (dark) equivalent of Yoda in the prequels. Similar to Yoda's "big reveal" when we find out that this wobbly and ancient "feathered wonder" is just a front, Jar Jar should have had a big reveal in Episode II or III where we'd find out he's not a naive jerk , but a skilled Sith manipulator, on the same team as (or leading) Palpatine.

However, JL got scared. The audience reaction to Jar Jar was so venomous that he scrapped that side of the trilogy. Too risky... If Jar Jar really is that repulsive, it might be detrimental to the Star Wars heritage that he is - main villain the whole saga. So instead let's pretend that he was unsuccessful attempt comedy element.

That's why Dooku looks like such a flat and tortured character with no backstory: he was written in hastily to cover the plot holes left by the elimination of the villain Jar Jar. Yoda should be fighting his virtual nemesis and mythological equivalent in the end of Attack of the Clones - not boring old Count Dooku, but Sith Master Ja-Ja. And Binks must escape, not only from this duel, but to survive the whole trilogy... to cast a shadow on the original trilogy too; you would watch old movies knowing that the Emperor is not the worst villain, as it turns out. Jar Jar is still out there somewhere. Perhaps that would be great.

But I believe that the writers of the new trilogy can return to this idea. Many people think that the studio Disney trying to distance himself or somehow get rid of the prequels ... But this makes no economic or marketing sense. The prequel era has significantly more money-making intellectual property than the original trilogy, if only because of the Clone Wars movie and series. Billions of dollars in iconic toys, frames, characters, games, rides and more that a whole new generation has grown up with. Disney won't pretend more than half The $4 billion in intellectual property they bought isn't even worth mentioning. (And by the way, we have footage from the filming of The Force Awakens, which clearly shows graphics taken from the prequels. Also, most of flags over Maze Castle in the trailer - from The Phantom Menace).

No, it makes perfect sense that one of their important tasks would be to restore and, ideally, try to return to the prequels good name among fans. Uplift and improve in hindsight, as far as possible more points. How to do it?

Jar Jar Binks is undoubtedly considered the "face" of everything that went wrong with the prequels: he was too funny, too incredible, and made no sense. If you somehow manage to change the nature of Jar Jar, turn a shameful idiot into a murderous villain, suddenly the whole prequel trilogy will be illuminated from a different angle, because it will be the setting for the most impressive opening in the history of cinema:

Jar Jar Binks is the Supreme Leader of the First Order!

Additional arguments in favor of this theory, the list of which is constantly growing,as well as pictures and videos about the dark side of Jar Jar can be seen on the site Darth Jar Jar, created almost immediately after the publication of the article.

Known mostly for his voice as Jar Jar Binks in the second Star Wars trilogy, he made a shocking confession on his microblog. The artist wrote that he was seriously considering suicide after fans of the franchise criticized both his character and himself. The actor has previously admitted that he faced negativity in his address: especially zealous fans even threatened him with reprisal. But no one suggested that he was contemplating suicide.

Ahmed Best wanted to kill himself because of the attacks of the fans

Best has published a picture in which, together with his son, he stands in the very place where he almost committed suicide 19 years ago. “Next year will be exactly twenty years since I faced a wave of negativity in the media, which still affects my career. At this point, I almost took my own life. But I survived. And this guy is my reward for that. Do you think this story could form the basis of my solo show? Let me know," the actor wrote on Twitter.

Ahmed Best's character Jar Jar Binks appeared in all three films in the second trilogy of the Star Wars franchise: The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. Critics considered him storyline meaningless, and many fans of the fantastic epic accused the creators of the trilogy of trying to cash in on young children by introducing a comical character into the films. Jar Jar Binks also saw a caricature of West Indian Negroes due to his accent.

Frame from the film: "Star Wars: Episode I. The Phantom Menace"

After finishing work on the trilogy, Ahmed Best appeared on television, where he voiced Jar Jar Binks in special issue parody cartoon series Robot Chicken: Star Wars". He was also the creator, writer, director and producer of his own television show, " This can't be my life". In addition, he collaborated with George Lucas in three films and five episodes of the animated show " Star Wars: The Clone Wars and won the Annie Award for Best Voice Acting in an Animated Television Series.
