Orthodox stories about the return from the other world. Visions from beyond

04.03.2019

Since ancient times, there are descriptions of examples when people managed to literally return from the other world. These examples gave rise to legends or frightened, but always excited the minds, and therefore have survived to this day.

1. Historical evidence of life after death.

The Greek philosopher and mathematician Plato was the first to describe the experience of near-death experiences. In conclusion to his work "State" Plato writes about a warrior named Er who was killed during the battle.

Unlike the bodies of the other fallen, his body remained untouched by decay for seven days. When he was already being prepared for burning on a funeral pyre, Er regained consciousness.

He told his amazing testimonies about life after death and reincarnation. He spoke about which no one has ever seen.

Er's story remains to this day the first recorded case of amazing near-death experiences.

2. Second birth.

In 1982, artist Mellen Thomas Benedict "died" of terminal cancer. Rushing through the tunnel towards the light Benedict decided he had questions and, in general, that he had not yet seen the world.

He recalls that in his incredible after-death experience, he flew through the entire solar system. He left our galaxy and traveled to other worlds where other life exists.

According to him, Benedict was transported to distant worlds and saw the past before the big bang, at a moment when space and time did not exist. Benedict woke up an hour and a half after he "died".

A later examination showed that his cancer had disappeared. Doctors called his recovery "spontaneous remission."

3. Grandmothers are guardian angels.

Suzanne Omeri was 11 years old when she ran across the road and was run over by a speeding car. The strong impact of the car threw her into the air. She later claimed that when she flew, saw everything in slow motion.

From the height of her flight, Omuri could see below the cars and the crowd of people who had gathered to watch the accident. Among this group, she saw her two many years ago.

They both yelled at Suzanne that she couldn't join them yet. Therefore, the whole picture began to turn back, and as a result, she landed on the road almost unscathed.

4. Meeting with an ancestor.

In 1989, Dan Piper was inside a car that crashed into a truck. Paramedics declared him dead. Piper no pulse for 90 minutes. While he was dead, he heard beautiful music and was intoxicated by wonderful aromas.

He also met with his grandfather and several other long-dead acquaintances in front of the huge gate. All his experiences were very pleasant. The meeting was interrupted when Piper began to regain consciousness.

His return to life surprised many, including those who prayed near his body at the scene of this terrible incident.

5. The daughter returned her mother.

In September 2003, Amanda Cable passed out after her heart stopped. Cable left her body, but she was stopped by a girl who looks like her daughter

She was wearing a school uniform, and her hair was pulled back into a bun at the back of her head. Ruby convinced her mother to go back through the white tunnel to the gate. Ruby slammed the gate shut after Cable passed through.

When Cable regained consciousness, she saw her husband sitting by her bed. He brought a photo of Ruby's first day at school, which Cable had missed because she was in the hospital at the time.

In the photo, Ruby was wearing school uniform, and her hair is gathered in a bun at the back of her head, as Cable saw her in her visions.

6. Meeting with historical figures.

In 1976, George Rodonia was pronounced dead from being hit by a car in a car accident. His body was taken to the morgue, where it remained three days.

When the pathologist began an autopsy on George's body, he came to his senses, shocking those around him. But the stories he told after his return were even more shocking.

At the time of his death, he once again experienced some episodes of his life and met with different people. He had the ability and space.

He said that he met with historical figures and traveled back in time to the days of the Roman Empire.

7. Looking to the future.

In 1999, Dr. Mary Neal was canoeing down a mountain river when her boat capsized. Caught under water, she was without air 25 minutes until help arrives.

In her unconscious state, she had near-death experiences in which she was told the future. In this case, it would be better for her not to hear this prediction.

While she was "dead", she was told that her eldest son would die. However, no details of this prediction were given. As a result, this prediction came true: her nineteen-year-old son soon died in a car accident.

8. They didn't let me go home.

Paul Ike was three years old when he fell through the ice on the pond. When rescuers pulled him out of the water, he no pulse for 3 hours. Doctors performed resuscitation, and his heart began to beat.

Then the kid told interesting stories about how he until he got to the gate. He approached the gate and tried to enter, but a figure stopped him.

He subsequently identified the figure as his grandmother, who died before he was born, from a photograph. She sent him back, saying that his parents were waiting for him at home.

9. Healing from cancer.

In 2006, while battling terminal cancer, Anita Moyani fell into a coma. Her organs failed and her body was swollen with cancer.

In her memoirs, Anita said that she saw the doctor and her husband talking at a distance from her hospital room. She also saw her brother flying on a plane to meet her.

Both of these events were later confirmed, but Anita could not have known anything about them at the time. According to her story, she was given the choice to live or die, and Anita came back fully conscious and with a miraculous recovery.

Doctors could not find any trace of her terminal illness.

10. Meeting with an unborn child.

As three-year-old Colton Burpo lay on the operating table with a ruptured appendix, doctors no longer hoped to save his life.

Miraculously, two hours later, Colton was taken from the operating room to the ward, where he told incredible stories. It turns out that in his visions he met a little girl who called herself his sister.

Indeed, Colton's mom had a miscarriage when her daughter was due, but she didn't say anything about it to Colton.

He also spoke about a conversation he had with a man he called "dad". Colton was later able to determine from family photo that it was his paternal grandfather who died many years ago.

Translation by Tatyana Beglyak specially for the magazine "Reincarnation".

Since childhood (now I am 25 years old) I was attracted by the unknown and mystical. For about five years, I somehow secret knowledge I was sure of the existence of UFOs, ghosts, brownies.

And it didn't scare me at all. When I was 13 years old, I "met" ours. He dragged chocolates from the closet, rustled in the refrigerator, wandered around the house at night. Since I went to bed later than everyone else, all suspicions fell on me. My parents and sister did not believe me, they even laughed. True, until the dishes began to disappear. Our Kuzka returned the kitchen utensils in a way that was incomprehensible to us: in the morning, when we woke up and went out to the kitchen, all the lost items ended up on the table. This went on for three weeks. We even got used to it. And then everything went quiet.

But what happened to me in the summer of 2008, I can't explain and, to be honest, I don't try.

This happened to me in a dream. At first I heard a smooth pleasant male voice, which for some reason seemed to me insanely familiar and dear. He seemed to whisper something to me, and I realized that I should go with him.

Immediately episode: a long white street. Not even white, but the color of wet chalk. Wide, as if lined with something like a cobblestone pavement, but it is not stone or metal. Walking the road is easy. I caught myself thinking that I was not walking, but floating, but the sound of steps was distinctly heard in my head: mine and my companion.

On both sides of the road sidewalks and one-story houses, the rows of which are broken only by intersections. All one color. Even the sky. No, it's more of a dome that looks like matte white polyethylene. My companion walks beside me and says something to me. But I do not understand the meaning of the words - I am all in thought. I want to remember everything in detail, and I dare to look into his face. With an effort I turn my head to the right - and my gaze rests on the silvery rectangular badge of his belt. He is more than half a meter taller than me! (my height is 160 cm). I see his trousers and part of his jacket, all the colors of their sky.

I don't feel like talking, and I raise my eyes to the "sky" again. "Where is the sun?" - the thought slips. “Are you dark or cold? The sun is too far away,” he seemed to answer my thought. Indeed, it was warm there: a pleasant and caressing warmth. For some reason it reminded me of my mother's hands. And the light was there, but its source was not visible, however, as well as the shadow. And yet, after what he said, I panicked. "The sun is too far away - then where am I?!" But he didn't answer me. Calmness came as suddenly as panic appeared.

I looked around again: a wide long street, low houses-barracks, a sky without sun. "Here there is not even street lamps, I thought. "Look to the left," came the reply. I looked there: a street lamp, however, does not burn. "Here's your lantern. Is it really that important to you?" his voice sounded in my head. I didn't know what to answer. He was damn right.

In the end, I liked it there. Apparently, catching me on this thought, he began to persuade me to stay. He says that people often come here, that soon many will come to live here. And I really want to stay! But suddenly I remember my relatives, my husband, my little daughter and refuse. At that moment, a female, slightly rough voice sounds in my head: “Leave her. Her time will come. She just doesn't understand." And again the male: “You will return home. But soon you will have to settle here, and you will be able to take with you whoever you want.”

I woke up. That morning I felt such overwhelming joy, such delight as I had never felt before! Strength and energy have increased in me, it has become freer to breathe, as if a large stone has been removed from my shoulders.

Then I forgot about the strange dream. But soon everything returned. I came across a book by A. Priyma "News from the other world." The writer cited a number of testimonies of people who visited a certain city of Kuili, far from solar system planet. After reading what these people said under hypnosis, I felt both joy and horror at the same time: they were telling what I saw in a dream! But even now I don't know if I can trust myself. Maybe everything I saw was just a figment of my imagination? To be honest, I'm afraid that I really was there. After all, it is not clear why many should soon come to live on a distant planet, and what will happen to our loved ones and children if my guide did not lie and the chosen ones come there? Some solid questions...

I had to meet people who survived clinical death, they were different in age, education, profession. But doctors who shared their revelations were not among them. Therefore, Dr. Eben's book about his personal afterlife experience, published this fall, I could not ignore. Wrote an article about Alexander Eben in the newspaper "Life". And today I'm posting it in a more complete form. In the photo - Dr. Eben.

"In the next world, bliss awaits us"

The revelations of people who returned from the other world are recognized as a scientific fact
Neurosurgeon Alexander Eben, coming out of a coma, said that he was in paradise

The belief that life continues after death, ancient as the world, has finally been replaced by knowledge. Doctor of Medical Sciences Alexander Eben, a neurosurgeon with 25 years of experience, who personally experienced clinical death, publicly stated:

Life goes on even after death, I visited Paradise!

Before, before his afterlife experience, the doctor Alexander Eben did not believe in the stories of patients who had been in the next world. Like the vast majority of physicians, he considered the post-mortem experience to be hallucinations. Until he experienced it himself.

Early on the morning of November 10, Alexander woke up with a severe headache. He was taken to a Virginia hospital in the United States, where he worked, already unconscious. The diagnosis was quickly made - bacterial meningitis.

For a week, the doctor was between life and death, the cortex of his brain, which is responsible for thoughts and emotions, ceased to function. Such patients are called "vegetable". In the intensive care unit lay a living corpse connected to an artificial respiration apparatus. The brain no longer showed signs of life, his soul was thrown away like a cracked nut. And flew far, far away!

The doctor came out of a coma only on the seventh day, when colleagues were about to declare death and disconnect the body from vital systems. The awakened Dr. Eben was as shocked as they were. But not by the fact that he, almost a dead man, returned to life, but by the amazing knowledge and experience that he acquired in the next world.

Revelations

Medicine, with its current level of knowledge, cannot admit that during a deep coma I was even in a limited consciousness, - says Dr. Eben. - And the fact that I made a very bright journey in those seven days was considered impossible from the point of view of science. But all this was with me - the cortex of my brain turned off, but the consciousness went to another, much big universe which I never knew existed.

According to Alexander, afterworld incomparably more and better than that in which our body lives. This is how he describes the experience, calling it Paradise:

I saw transparent, shimmering creatures flying across the sky, leaving long, line-like trails behind them. These creatures made amazing sounds, like a beautiful song, in this way they expressed the joy and grace that overwhelmed them.

One such angelic being, a young woman, joined Dr. Eben. She had dark blue eyes, golden brown braided hair, and high cheekbones. The woman's clothes were simple, but beautiful and bright - pale blue, blue and peach.

Her gaze was full of love, above all those shades of love that we have on earth. She spoke to me without words, her messages passed through me like the wind. My senses were sharpened - I knew that everything around me was true. She said that everything I loved and cherished would stay with me forever, that I had nothing to fear. She said she would show me many things, but in the end I will return to earth. I asked - where am I and why am I here?

The answer came instantly, like an explosion of light, color, love and beauty that pierced me like a wave. I received an answer - en entered me instantly, I could without special efforts understand concepts that would have taken years to comprehend in Earth years. The main thing from this knowledge is that our life does not end with death, an exciting journey and eternal bliss awaits us.

The angel woman led the doctor into "a huge void where it was completely dark, but there was a sense of infinity, and it was very pleasant at the same time." Alexander believes that this inky black sphere, "which radiated an extraordinary light," was the home of God.

The doctor began to write down his impressions of the experience immediately after his recovery, on the advice of his eldest son, more than 20 thousand words of revelations. This autumn, exactly four years after his return from the other world, Dr. Eben finally published his revelations - he called the book "Proof of Paradise. Journey of a neurosurgeon to the afterlife."

I am not a preacher, but a scientist, - Alexander notes. - But at a deep level, now I am very different from the person I used to be, because I saw new picture reality. I am well aware of how unusually, incredibly my revelations are perceived. If anyone, even a doctor, had told me this before, I would have considered it all a delusion. But my journey to the other world is an event as objective for me, as real as my wedding, as the birth of my two sons. Now I know that our emotions, our love, have great importance for the universe, and our soul is eternal. I intend to dedicate the rest of my earthly life to the mission of exploring the true nature of consciousness, its relationship to the physical brain. The brain is not a producer of consciousness, but only an instrument for the soul, a shell in which it exists. My wife, Holly, believed in my post-mortem experience, while colleagues expressed polite disbelief. They immediately understood me in the church - when I first entered the temple after a coma, I experienced the same emotions when I saw the turns and the portrait of Jesus. I know that we are all loved by God and he will accept each of us as a son ...

The ice of rejection by medical colleagues of the revelations of Dr. Eben, even so, finally cracked. Renowned anesthesiologist Professor Stuart Hameroff recently unveiled his theory, confirming the post-mortem experience of Dr. Eben. According to it, the existence of consciousness in the universe has been constant since big bang. And the death of an organism does not mean the death of the information stored in the brain, which continues to "flow in the Universe." This explains the fact of the stories of people who survived after clinical death, about " White light' or 'tunnel'. Information, our life experience, which determines the personality, is not destroyed, but scattered in the Universe in the form of quanta. It can be considered a soul.

returned

The revelations of Dr. Eben are in many ways similar to the memories of other people who have experienced clinical death. I had a chance to meet some of them, their stories were credible. First of all, by the fact that they radically changed their attitude to life, became deeply spiritual and moral. Here are their words describing what they experienced in the next world:

Boris Pilipchuk, former policeman:

“I felt very good. I saw an extraordinary light. He was bright, but soft, warmth, calmness, joy and peace emanated from him. This light filled me with such delight that it is impossible to express in words!”

Nun Antonia:

“It is brighter, more beautiful, it blooms like in spring. And the aroma is wonderful, everything is fragrant. In the soul immediately heavenly bliss came. Suddenly, something happened inside me that I had never experienced before: endless love, joy, happiness entered my heart - all at once.

Vladimir Efremov, designer:

“Consciousness did not turn off, there was a feeling of extraordinary lightness. He flew somewhere along a giant pipe. There was no horror or fear. Only bliss. All my feelings and memories were with me. My consciousness embraced everything at once at the same time, for it there was neither time nor distances.

Expert
Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Associate Professor Artem Mikheev, President of the Russian Association of Instrumental Transcommunication:

The experience of Alexander Eben is very valuable - of those doctors whom I personally know, alas, no one has experienced this, but there are a lot of confirmations of other people who have experienced clinical death. "Death" is the cessation of the functioning of the physical body and its attributes. But personality and consciousness are by their nature not identical with the physical body and are not its product. Consequently, after dropping the dense shell, the consciousness functions in a new environment, in another, more subtle body that is not perceived by our senses, which is confirmed scientific research. The same Dr. Eben confirms that "death is not the end of conscious existence, but only part of an endless journey."
Grigory Telnov, first published in the newspaper "Life".

One of the main problems that concern mankind is the problem of life and death.
Light emanating from the end of the tunnel, an incredible joyful feeling - all this was seen and experienced by people who experienced cardiac arrest. They told the British doctors about this.

These revelations are recognized by Southampton scientists as the reality of an after-death experience that is independent of the workings of the brain. This fact has excited scientists around the world. What happens to people when the heart no longer beats? What signs indicate the death of a living organism? What does the term "brain death" mean? Medicine does not yet provide answers to these questions.

It never occurred to any of the doctors to write down the confession of those who returned from the other world ...
The first physician to publish in 1969 the memoirs of those who "came back from there" was Elisabeth Kobler-Ross. The author draws readers' attention to the fact that these memories are surprisingly similar in many ways: a tunnel, bright light. Is it possible?

Similar stories were cited by Raymond Moody in the book Life After Death, published in 1975 and becoming a bestseller in just a few days. The authors equally evaluate the impressions of their patients: death is not terrible.

Quite the opposite conclusions were made by the famous sociologist Hubert Knoblauch from Germany, the author of the book "News from the Other World", which was published in 1999. For several years, he interviewed about 2,100 people who had a negative experience of near-death experience. More than 4% of those surveyed remember vague sensations that they experienced while in an unconscious state. However, Knoblauch did not see anything that would resemble a "beautiful exit from life." Of course, people experience all the events of their lives in different ways. But the stories of the patients were very individual, and, according to the sociologist, they cannot be generalized. Moreover, they were often unpleasant: 60% of the inhabitants of the former GDR and 30% former citizens The FRG talked about suffering as if they had been or seen from the outside a real hell, as it has been described since ancient times!

According to Knoblauch, visions during the cessation of cardiac activity mainly depend on the age of the patient.

Scientists are still trying to find out the mechanism of occurrence of such visions. Science has not yet provided a complete explanation. In 1991-1992 scientists in their research sought to prove that "visions" are residual brain actions.

In 1994, several experiments were carried out with volunteers. Young guys breathed very quickly and deeply, which in 15-17 minutes led to a loss of consciousness. People experienced the same as patients in a state of clinical death. They "lost" their bodies and witnessed the events of their past.

According to Parnia, under whose leadership the experiment took place, the lack of oxygen in the brain does not affect the appearance of visions. In seven patients who reported typical sensations, the amount of oxygen was slightly higher than in those who did not see or feel anything.
This phenomenon is not a hallucination. “Everyone recalled in detail and told what they saw and experienced in these brief moments,” said Parnia. Probably, some drugs that can be excreted by the body at such a moment have a similar effect. Most people talked about happiness and peace. It is worth noting that people who have experienced great stress and athletes involved in extreme sports release a hormone that causes a feeling of pleasure and helps to get out of the fight with circumstances with the least loss.

The famous scientist Bruce Grayson, in the course of numerous experiments, proved that people who experienced "visions" were not mentally ill. Observing patients, the doctor became convinced that a change in consciousness does not lead to a negative change in mental state.
Are the memories of people who experienced their passing proof that there is life "out there"? Science answers evasively: perhaps yes. We need to continue research, although we probably will not know a definite answer.

Equally problematic is the question: when can the onset of death be considered? After cardiac arrest and brain activity? If the answer is yes, then a person in a coma can be harvested for further transplantation.

Previously, the corpse was kept for three days, until signs became apparent that the person had died. For example, the so-called. cadaveric spots usually appear 30-50 minutes after circulatory arrest, and rigor mortis occurs within 4-12 hours, depending on the temperature in the room.

The very concept of “brain death” appeared several years ago. When the world's first heart transplant operation, performed by Christian Bernard, was successfully carried out in South Africa, some media outlets, guided by public opinion, demanded that the surgeon be convicted of murder. In 1968, similar operations began to be carried out in the USA. At the same time, a special commission at the Harvard Medical School proposed that coma be considered “brain death.”

Many disagree with this definition. “For some reason, transplantologists are sure that if the patient does not have brain activity, then he loses sensitivity,” notes Richard Fuchs. But there are many cases when a person regained consciousness after many years of being in a coma and informed doctors and relatives about what he had heard and seen.

Stories of those who have been to Hell

Most often, after clinical death, people remember something pleasant: extraterrestrial light, communication with benevolent beings, a feeling of happiness.

But, sometimes there are stories that describe a terrible place full of suffering and despair, i.e. hell.

Clinical death Assistant engineer Thomas Welch from Oregon stumbled and fell from a height, hitting the rungs of the scaffolding, into the water while working on a future sawmill. This was seen by several people, and a search was immediately organized. About an hour later he was found and brought back to life. But, the soul of Thomas in this period of time was far from the place of the tragedy. Having fallen from the bridges, he unexpectedly found himself near a huge fiery ocean.

This sight struck him, inspired horror and reverence. A lake of fire stretched around him and occupied all space, it seethed and rumbled. There was no one in it, and Thomas himself watched him from the side. But, around, not in the lake itself, but next to it, there were quite a lot of people. Thomas even recognized one of those present, although he did not speak to him. They once studied together, but he died as a child from cancer. The people around were in some kind of thoughtfulness, as if they were confused, puzzled by the spectacle of a terrible lake of fire, next to which they found themselves. Thomas himself realized that together with them he was in a prison from which there was no way out. He thought that if he had known in advance about the existence of such a place, he would have tried during his lifetime to do everything in his power not to return here. As soon as these thoughts flashed through his head, Jesus himself appeared before him. Thomas was delighted, because he believed that he would help him get out of there, but he did not dare to ask for help. Jesus passed by without paying any attention to him, but before leaving, he turned and looked at him. This look returned Thomas' soul to his body. He heard the voices of people nearby, and then he was able to open his eyes and speak.

This case was described in the book Moritz S. Roolings "Beyond the threshold of death." There you can also read a few more stories about how, during clinical death, souls ended up in hell.

Another patient started severe pain due to inflammation of the pancreas. He was given medication, but they did not help much, he lost consciousness. At that moment, he began to leave through a long tunnel, surprised that he did not touch his feet, moved as if floating in space. This place was very similar to a dungeon or a cave, filled with eerie sounds and smells of decay. He forgot part of what he saw, but villains emerged in his memory, whose appearance was only half human. They spoke their own language and mimicked each other. In despair, the dying man exclaimed: "Jesus, save me!" Immediately a Man in shining white robes appeared and looked at him. He felt an indication that it was necessary to live differently. The man didn't remember anything else. Perhaps consciousness did not want to keep in memory all the horrors that he saw there.

Kenneth E. Hagin, who became a minister after a near-death experience, described his visions and experiences in the booklet My Testimony.

April 21, 1933 his heart stopped beating and his soul separated from his body. She began to descend lower and lower until the light of the earth completely disappeared. At the very end, he found himself in pitch darkness, absolute blackness, where he could not even see the hand raised to his eyes. The further he descended, the more hot and stuffy the space around him became. Then he found himself in front of the road to the underworld, where the lights of hell were visible. A fiery sphere with white crests was approaching him, which began to attract him to itself. The soul did not want to go, but could not resist, because. attracted like iron to a magnet. Kenneth was engulfed in heat. He ended up at the bottom of the hole. There was a creature next to him. At first he paid no attention to him, fascinated by the picture of hell spread out before him, but, this creature put a hand between his elbow and shoulder to guide him to hell itself. At that moment, a voice was heard, the voice of God himself. The future priest did not understand the words, but he felt his strength and power: “His voice resounded throughout this accursed place, shaking it like that; like the wind shakes the leaves. At that moment, his companion loosened his grip, and some force pulled him up. He found himself in his room and slipped into his body the same way he had come out, through his mouth. The grandmother with whom he spoke, waking up, admitted that she thought he was already dead.

There are descriptions of hell in Orthodox books. One man, tormented by an illness, prayed to God to deliver him from suffering. The angel sent by him suggested to the sufferer that instead of one year on earth, spend 3 hours in hell in order to cleanse his soul. He agreed. But, as it turned out, in vain. It was the most disgusting place that can be imagined. Everywhere there was crowding, darkness, spirits of malice hovered, the cries of sinners were heard, there was only suffering. The patient's soul experienced inexpressible fear and languor, but no one responded to his cries for help except for the infernal echo and the bubbling of the flame. It seemed to him that he was there for an eternity, although the Angel who visited him explained that only an hour had passed. The sufferer begged to be taken away from this terrible place, and was released, after which he patiently endured his illness.

According to the ideas of the church, hell is the place where the souls of the dead are distant from God, sinners are tormented by remorse and unsatisfied passions, so weeping and gnashing of teeth are constantly heard there. The same needs that a person had on earth will torment even more in the underworld, and will not be satisfied. A drug addict will have eternal withdrawal, a drunkard will have a hangover, a smoker will have a craving for tobacco, a glutton will suffer without food, and a fornicator will suffer from the desires of the flesh. But, oddly enough, hell was not created for punishment. It turns out that for a sinful soul, being close to God is also a kind of torture, because. she, immersed in darkness, cannot rejoice in light and grace.

Pictures of hell are scary and unattractive, but they give a reason to think about a lot, to reconsider your attitude to life, to your desires and goals.

Journey to the next world

Clinical death "Once I had a heart attack. I suddenly found that I was in a black vacuum, and I realized that I had left my physical body. I knew I was dying and I thought, "God, I wouldn't live like this if I knew what was going to happen now. Please help me." And immediately I began to come out of this blackness and saw something pale gray, and I continued to move, to slide in this space. Then I saw a gray tunnel and went towards it. It seemed to me that I was not moving towards it as fast as I would like, because I realized that by moving closer, I could see something through it. Behind this tunnel I saw people. They looked the same as on the ground. There I saw something that could be mistaken for mood pictures.

Everything was permeated amazing light: life-giving, golden yellow, warm and soft, quite unlike the light that we see on earth. As I got closer, I felt like I was going through a tunnel. It was an amazing, joyful feeling. On human language there are simply no words to describe it. Only my time to cross this fog has probably not yet come. Right in front of me, I saw my uncle Carl, who died many years ago. He blocked my way, say: "Go back, your work on earth is not finished yet. Now go back." I didn't want to go, but I had no choice, so I returned to my body. And again I felt that terrible pain in my chest and heard my little son crying and shouting: "God, bring mommy back!".

“I saw them lift my body and pull it out from under the steering, I felt like I was being dragged through some kind of limited space, something like a funnel. It was dark and black, and I quickly moved through this funnel back to my body. When I was "infused" back, it seemed to me that this "infusion" began from the head, as if I was entering from the head. I did not feel that I could somehow reason about it, there was not even time to think. Before that, I was a few yards from my body, and all of a sudden everything took a reverse course. I did not even have time to figure out what was wrong, I was "poured" into my body. "

"I was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. They said that I would not survive, they invited my relatives because I should die soon. The relatives entered and surrounded my bed. At the moment the doctor thought that I had died, my relatives became distant to me, as if Clinical Death, they began to move away from me. It really looked as if I was not moving away from them, but they began to move further and further away from me. It was getting darker, and, nevertheless, I saw Then I lost consciousness and couldn't see what was going on in the ward. seams. I began to enter this tunnel, moving forward. It was as dark as it gets dark. I moved down through it. Then I looked ahead and saw a beautiful polished door without any handles. From under the edges of the door I saw a very bright its rays came out in such a way that it was clear that everyone there, behind the door, was very happy. These beams kept moving and rotating. It seemed that there, behind the door, everyone was terribly busy. I looked at all this and said: "Lord, here I am. If you want, take me!" But the owner brought me back, and so quickly that it took my breath away."

"I heard how the doctors said that I had died. And then I felt how I began to fall or, as it were, to swim through some kind of blackness, some kind of closed space. Words cannot describe it. Everything was very black, and only in the distance I could see this light. Very, very bright light, but at first small. It got bigger as I got closer to it. I tried to get closer to this light, because I felt that it was Christ. I longed to get there. It's not I was afraid. It was more or less pleasant. As a Christian, I immediately associated this light with Christ, who said: "I am the light of the world." I said to myself: "If this is so, if I must die, I know what awaits me in end, there, in this light."

"I got up and went to another room to pour something to drink, and at that very moment, as they later told me, I had a perforation of the appendix, I felt very weak and fell. Then everything seemed to float strongly, and I felt the vibration of my rushing from the body, and heard beautiful music. I floated around the room and then through the door I was transported to the veranda. And there it seemed to me that some kind of cloud began to gather around me through the pink mist. And then I floated past through the partition, as as if it were not there at all, towards a transparent clear light.

It was beautiful, so brilliant, so radiant, but it didn't blind me at all. It was an unearthly light. I did not really see anyone in this light, and yet there was a special individuality in her ... It was the light of absolute understanding and perfect love. In my mind I heard: "Do you love me?" It wasn't put in the form of a specific question, but I think the meaning could be expressed like this: "If you really love me, come back and finish what you started in your life." And all the while, I felt surrounded by all-consuming love and compassion."

The phenomenon of post-mortem visions in people who were in a state of clinical death is not denied by anyone. The question is in the interpretation of the nature of these visions. The president of the French Tantalogical Association, Louis-Vincent Thomas, believes that both fanatical mystics who are trying to use the OBC phenomenon to propagate their ideas and those who simply reduce the phenomenon to hallucinations are wrong. Most of the patients interviewed by Moody are religious people, usually Christians. Their existential experience seems to testify to the unconditional existence of God and to the fact that our soul is immortal. Dr. Karlis Osis, who collected data on 3800 patients who were on the verge of death, notes that believers have visions more often than non-believers. At the same time, obvious elements of Buddhism are woven into the Christian experience of the "returnees".

However, Moody, as a conscientious researcher, also considers other explanations for OVS, dividing them into three types: supernatural, natural (scientific), and psychological. I have already spoken about the supernatural. As scientific, Moody offers pharmacological, physiological, and neurological explanations. Let's consider them in order.

*Moody, however, is forced to point out that his RVO patients described their experiences in terms that are only analogies or metaphors. Due to the different nature of the “other world”, these sensations cannot be adequately conveyed.

The story of a four year old boy

This amazing real mystical story happened seven years ago. During family vacation in Colorado. Colton Burpo, 4, has a burst appendix. As the doctors said, peritonitis has begun and the child's condition is critical. The operation was very difficult, even the doctors did not strongly believe in a successful outcome.

His parents Todd and Sonya constantly prayed, asking the Lord for the health of their son. It was theirs only child, a year before the birth of Corlton, Sonya had a miscarriage, then heartbroken Mother doctors said that it was a girl. Some time after the operation, waking up, the son told them an amazing, real full of mysticism history.

In his story, he told why the angel is dreaming. At first, for some time, he watched as if from the side of praying parents, and then found himself in an incredibly beautiful place. The first person he met there was his unborn sister. She explained to him that this amazing place is called paradise, that she does not have a name, since her parents did not give her one. The boy then said that he met his great-grandfather, who died more than 30 years before the birth of Corlton. Grandpa was young, and not the way the boy remembered in the photographs recent years life.

The child said that he saw Jesus, who took him on his lap, about the incredibly beautiful streets of gold, and what struck him most of all was that the inhabitants of this city have wings and can fly. There is never night, and the sky plays with all the colors of the rainbow. Each inhabitant has an incredible glow above their heads and they dress in long white robes with multi-colored ribbons.
