/ / / Analysis of the episode "Natasha at the wounded Prince Andrei" (based on Tolstoy's novel "War and Peace")

In the novel by Leo Tolstoy "War and Peace" the reader gets acquainted with many characters whose fates are completely different, whose actions are completely extraordinary. Summarizing the behavior of his heroes, the author tries to derive a certain moral formula that applied to all people of that time.

Incredibly exciting relationship main character- and the prince. When a girl learns about the injury of her beloved, about what to visit him in this moment it is impossible, all sorts of thoughts and plans appear in her head. When the groans reached Natalya, though not Andrei, but the same suffering person, she shed tears. Perhaps this was due to a feeling of deep compassion, or from helplessness, from inaction. Therefore, in spite of everything, the heroine was determined to visit Andrei.

She was waiting for her mother and Sonya to fall asleep. The hut was filled with incomprehensible knocks. It was the girl's heart beating with excitement. Natasha was not afraid to see the crippled people who were next to the prince. She was looking for native features in exhausted faces.

A week has already passed since Bolkonsky came to his senses. However, the doctor was completely unhappy with the state of his injuries. The wounds were very serious. The doctor admired how the prince endured such unbearable pain, and Andrei, in turn, also joked that he wanted to get a book for free reading. He tried to create an atmosphere of his own well-being. Only the gospel was the desired book. I think that Bolkonsky was also aware of the seriousness of his wounds and wanted to cleanse his soul before his death.

Andrey's meeting with Natasha calmed him down. The prince's heart was filled with real feelings. Now he was able to rethink the love for this girl in a new way. Of course, Natasha, all exhausted by torments and swollen with tears, did not look best light. However, Andrei paid attention only to his eyes sparkling with happiness.

From that moment on, Natasha did not leave the prince for a moment. The doctor was surprised by such an attraction to care for the wounded. The girl's mother did not resist the meetings of lovers. They were extremely happy!

This episode of the novel shows Natalya in best features. She is a loving, ready for anything, girl who tries in every possible way to help her beloved get out of trouble, get better and get back on her feet. And the prince, in turn, responds with mutual feelings and sincere love.

Throughout this episode, the reader can watch the growing up of the heroine. She knows how not only to love, but also to take care of the wounded Andrey. In such difficult situation Natasha shows all her kindness, tenderness and perseverance of character.

Conclusions on the image of the heroine What did the heroine come to? What happened to the heroine? What have you achieved in life? What have you achieved in life? Natasha has been through a lot. Mental suffering, of course, changed her appearance, feelings have become deeper, their manifestation is more restrained. Yes, the woman who appears before us at the end of the novel is indifferent to the problem of female emancipation. L.N. Tolstoy showed us Natasha in a wonderful period of her life, when nothing is more important for her than a child. What about her relationship with her husband? She did not understand everything in Pierre's activities, but for her he is the best, most honest and fair. But Pierre, who entered into secret society, perhaps, will come out, “joining hand with those who love good,” to Senate Square. And we have no doubt that Natasha, leaving everything, will follow him to Siberia. And although we do not fully agree with Tolstoy in interpreting this female image, which was his ideal, but we can say with confidence: many generations will learn from Natasha Rostova her ability to do good, the ability to live, love, feel the beauty of the world, to be faithful wife, a loving mother, to raise worthy sons and daughters.

For Prince Andrei, seven days have passed since he woke up at the dressing station in the Borodino field. All this time he was almost in constant unconsciousness. The fever and inflammation of the intestines, which were damaged, in the opinion of the doctor who was traveling with the wounded, must have carried him away. But on the seventh day he ate with pleasure a piece of bread with tea, and the doctor noticed that the general fever had decreased. Prince Andrei regained consciousness in the morning. The first night after leaving Moscow was quite warm, and Prince Andrei was left to sleep in a carriage; but in Mytishchi the wounded man himself demanded to be carried out and to be given tea. The pain inflicted on him by being carried to the hut made Prince Andrei moan loudly and lose consciousness again. When they laid him down on a camp bed, he lay for a long time with eyes closed motionless. Then he opened them and whispered softly: “What about tea?” This memory for the small details of life struck the doctor. He felt his pulse and, to his surprise and displeasure, noticed that the pulse was better. To his displeasure, the doctor noticed this because, from his experience, he was convinced that Prince Andrei could not live, and that if he did not die now, he would only die with great suffering some time later. With Prince Andrei they carried the major of his regiment Timokhin, who had joined them in Moscow, with a red nose, wounded in the leg in the same Battle of Borodino. They were accompanied by a doctor, the prince's valet, his coachman and two batmen. Prince Andrei was given tea. He drank greedily, looking ahead with feverish eyes at the door, as if trying to understand and remember something. scary place. The doctor was very dissatisfied with something, altered something differently, turned the wounded man over so that he again groaned and, from pain during the turning, again lost consciousness and began to rave.
When he woke up, Natasha, that very living Natasha, whom, of all the people in the world, he most of all wanted to love with that new, pure divine love that was now revealed to him, was kneeling before him. He realized that it was a living, real Natasha, and was not surprised, but quietly delighted. Natasha, on her knees, frightened, but chained (she could not move), looked at him, holding back her sobs. Her face was pale and motionless. Only something fluttered in the lower part of it. Prince Andrei sighed in relief, smiled and held out his hand. - You? - he said. - How happy! Natasha with a quick but careful movement moved towards him on her knees and, carefully taking his hand, bent over her face and began to kiss her, slightly touching her lips. - Forgive me! she said in a whisper, raising her head and looking at him. - Forgive me! - I love you, - said Prince Andrei. - Forgive me ... - What to forgive? - asked Prince Andrei. - Forgive me for what I did, - Natasha said in a barely audible, intermittent whisper and began to kiss her hand more often, slightly touching her lips. - I love you more, better than before, - said Prince Andrei, raising her face with his hand so that he could look into her eyes. Those eyes, filled with happy tears, looked at him timidly, compassionately and with joyful love. Natasha's thin and pale face with swollen lips was more than ugly, it was terrible. But Prince Andrei did not see this face, he saw shining eyes that were beautiful. Behind them they heard a conversation. Peter the valet, now completely awake from sleep, woke the doctor. Timokhin, who could not sleep all the time because of the pain in his leg, had long seen everything that was being done, and, diligently covering his undressed body with a sheet, huddled on the bench. - What is this? said the doctor, rising from his bed. - If you please go, madam. At the same time, a girl was knocking on the door, sent by the countess, missing her daughter. Like a somnambulist who was awakened in the middle of her sleep, Natasha left the room and, returning to her hut, sobbing fell on her bed. From this of the day, during the entire further journey of the Rostovs, at all rests and overnight stays, Natasha did not leave the wounded Bolkonsky, and the doctor had to admit that he did not expect from the girl either such firmness or such skill in walking after the wounded. No matter how terrible the idea seemed to the countess that Prince Andrei could (very likely, according to the doctor) die during the journey in the arms of her daughter, she could not resist Natasha. Although, as a result of the now established rapprochement between the wounded Prince Andrei and Natasha, it occurred to me that in the event of recovery, the former relations between the bride and groom would be resumed, no one, still less Natasha and Prince Andrei, spoke about this: the unresolved, hanging question of life or death was not only over Bolkonsky, but over Russia obscured all other assumptions.

We continue the conversation about the characters of Tolstoy's novel, whose fates, according to the critic Bocharov, " only a link in the infinite experience of humanity, of all people, both past and future».

The heroine of today's lesson is Natasha Rostova. The author of War and Peace himself stated: see 2nd epigraph.

? - Why did Tolstoy love Natasha more than all other heroines? (criteria for assessing positive characters (according to Tolstoy)

Let us dwell on the scenes that show the heroine in the most bright moments her life, when the "dialectic of the soul" is especially palpable.

    So, first meeting with Natasha.

    1) Read the portrait description of the heroine ( vol. I, part I, ch. VIII, p. 54)

What, in your opinion, is the charm of the heroine, her charm? ( 13 year old girl -R)

Is she beautiful? ( No, Tolstoy emphasizes this many times. Its charm is in simplicity, in naturalness. Natasha is overwhelmed with a thirst for life, in one day of her name day she manages to experience and feel so much, sometimes you are even surprised ...)

    2) Meeting in Otradnoe (vol. II, part III, ch. II “Prince Andrei is not cheerful ... - Prince Andrei involuntarily asked himself with curiosity”)

Andrei Bolkonsky is disappointed in life and goes on business through Otradnoe.

Natasha's indestructible thirst for life somehow influenced the people who were with her. After meeting with Natasha, she awakens from her sleep.

    3) Night in Otradnoe (vol. II, part III, ch. II)

    ("Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven)

The night spent in Otradnoye played big role in the fate of Bolkonsky. She sharpened the perception of what he saw and felt during the day.

! bright, happy, poetic world Natasha helps Prince Andrei feel and feel life in a new way.

    * The writer evaluates the characters: how close they are to the people and nature.

Unloved heroes seem to be frozen in immobility, they are almost not concerned with the concept of "people are like rivers ..."

    4) Episode "At Uncle's"

The singing of the serf, then the uncles awaken something important, the source in Natasha.

    5) Natasha's dance scene (a student recites)

(In this episode, one of the main ideas of the writer: in a person, his unity with other people, the need to love and be loved is valuable and beautiful)

    * The essence of her life is love. (L.N. Tolstoy)

    * Love defines her life path when she only lives, waiting for her, and when she becomes a wife and mother.

    6) Natasha's first ball (vol. II, part III, ch. 16-17) is one of the most striking scenes in the novel. The excitement and anxiety of the heroine, the first appearance in society, the desire to be invited by Prince Andrei and dance with him.

    * How nice it is when there is a person nearby who will understand you.

In Natasha's life, Pierre became such a person.

(Stills from the feature film S. Bondarchuk)

What made Prince Andrei postpone the wedding for a year?

A mature man, Prince Andrei, nevertheless dared to disobey his father. Or didn't want to? Could he disagree with such conditions?

(Could, if he was sure of Natasha's love, if he understood his beloved better, he again closed himself in)

! But in love you can not think only about yourself!

!!! Truly, the pride of the Bolkonskys and the simplicity of the Rostovs are not compatible.

? - Why did Natasha get carried away by Kuragin?

? - How do you assess Natasha's act? Are we right to judge her?

! To live fully, to love, to be loved... Before us is a living person!

    ! She judges herself!

    Developments!!! War of 1812

    (Video clip)

    7) At the bedside of the dying Prince Andrei

? - What revives Natasha to life?

Petya, a boy who played war in the war, died.

Love for her mother showed that the essence of her life is love.

! Love awakened and life awakened.

    * Patriotism (1812 - carts)

What did Natasha come to? What did you achieve? (uh pilogue X ch.)

    3) Patriots, proximity to nature;

    4) A life of entertainment, disappointments, work of thought, contempt for public lies and falsehood.

    Application

In the epilogue of the novel “War and Peace”, N. Rostov speaks about Natasha’s attitude towards Pierre: “ After all, she keeps him under her shoe, and if it’s a matter of reasoning - she doesn’t have her own words - she says so with his words ...»

There is no doubt that such a dependence of women's "reasoning" on men's is understood by Tolstoy as the most attractive property of a woman's nature.
